Kevin’s sister and her girlfriend are witches, so made these Tarot/Angel card bags as a Christmas gift. Lined on the inside with black velvet, moonstones in the toggles and spells woven into the stitches. Can they get any more magical?

Needed a gift bag and realised I actually have the skills and tools to make one! Pleasant evening rummaging through fabric sand stuff and came up with this. Fur is fake of course!!

Fascinated by the architecture of bags at the moment. Had just enough of this fabric to make this reversible one. Unfortunately can't seem to find the right light to show the subtle greens and blues of the print .... and it's pouring with rain outside, so no natural light available. But fun and easy to make and almost meditative in single pointed concentration ....

Just finished my first weekend crafting project. Bumble Bee shopping bag. Didn’t think I would be able to sew really straight lines on the sewing machine, but then wonderful Nina taught me the trick with the rubber band! Thank you Nina!

“Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you.”

Little weekend project. Found this new transfer paper that you can use to trace images, embroider and it then supposedly dissolves in water. Let’s see if it works with this beautiful Japanese silk too ..... loads of ideas to try if it does! Fingers crossed!

I recently found some photos I took when living in Bhutan, oh so long ago. This one from a magical Black Hat dance that I was lucky enough to be invited to see in a remote monastery on the outskirts of Paro .... None of the photos where photoshopped by the way. The clean air and vibrant colours were just as you see them here. Wonderful memories of my time in the mountains

My first stab at making a shawl. Took a while, first for the cotton yarn to arrive from the US (astonishingly difficult and expensive to buy in the UK), then the making, blocking, drying and sewing in of ends. But all done .... now need to decide whether I wear it or give it away! Pattern by @twoofwands

A little break from knitting, to crochet a stone sand dollar ... only twist is that I made it with industrial strength paper yarn. Was a little tough on the fingers, but I like the effect of paper and stone harmonising to create something interesting for the coffee table ...

Never realised how grumpy the elephant on the side table looks .... knitting project to reduce stash before the yarn shops open again! Fresh green, antler cable repeated 7 times in the round 3x3 in length .... weaving Cernunnos magic in between the stitches ...

Baby blanket that folds into an owl cushion! Got the idea from MJ’s Off The Hook designs, but had to scale it down from super bulky to double DK .... fun though!

Was just reminded of this experience that happened almost 10 years ago. I had been living in Bhutan for five years and was ready for the next adventure. My boss decided to sponsor monks to make a sand mandala for me as a leaving gift. The monks took several painstaking days to create the mandala and once it was done, we had a few moments to admire it before it was swept up and I was asked to pour the sand into the river. Only a little was held back and mixed with sand from one of the first mandalas created at Paro Dzong. The head monk told me to sprinkle a little in my path whenever there was an obstacle in my way, as the mandala and chants were done to clear any from my path. Still have quite a bit of the sand left. Seems the mandala worked. Probably one of the most potent experiences of magic I’ve experienced to date! .... a reminder of the impermanence of everything .... we can see change as a threat or as a blessing. It can be a simple matter of cause and effect or ... a participation in continued creation, creativity and transformation. The amazing thing about impermanence is that in each moment we can decide who we want to be ... we can let go and recreate ourselves, if we choose to do so ... impermanence is the flow of life
