All I'm saying is that Frodo's appearance perfectly resembles what a child would look like between Bilbo and Thorin.. Y'know.. that's all

Thorin and his tiny son <3
I think Thorin would definitely take Frodo everywhere, even meetings. So just imagine a very serious and important king with a tiny child in his arms!

#the possibility that khazad dum may very well not only the oldest settlement in middleearth still standing and still in use but also#just THE oldest settlement in the entire world#is so. so mindblowing#esp. because it was never willingly abandoned#they lived in it until they were brutally driven out#!!!!!!????!=?!??!(/§/(()§=)'2309#also my math may be wrong bc the valinoran years are throwing me off#btw depending on which founding date we assume khazad dum is older than galadriel#elven immortality is already so insane and the fact that khazad dum is older than one of if not the oldest elf in the east...oh my god.

the sheer scale of khazad-dûm's existance is so unimaginable…! it existed longer than any elven realm in middle-earth (from what i know), it is older than the hobbits as a whole, it saw númenor rise and then sink back into the ocean. khazad-dûm was built by the literal first dwarf that awoke, it is older than the sun and moon. it encompasses nearly all of their existance. and it was brutally taken from them!! of course they want it back!!

there it is
both of them leaving the forest after the barrel scene
so they 100% ended up way further downstream when thorin was shouting for bilbo and went after him and they were separated from the company and this is them coming back to where the rest of the company is ok let’s just pretend that’s a thing that happened

What can you see on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea, a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn to silver glass
A light on the water, grey ships pass
Into the West.
A tribute to Christopher Tolkien. Without him, we wouldn’t have been able to grasp the true depth of Middle Earth’s history, and there would be many more stories left untold. The Silmarillion has always been a favorite, and has been a constant source of inspiration and a source of comfort, along with the other books in the legendarium. There are no words to describe how much these books mean to me, and no words to express how I’ll forever be grateful for them for their accompaniment throughout the years. It always felt like coming home, reading them, to a place you’ll forever hold dear to your heart. His and his father’s legacy will continue to live on, and I’ll forever be thankful that it has been released into the world, for the world is immensely better because of it.
From the depths of my heart, thank you for everything you’ve done, Christopher Tolkien. May the Star of Eärendil guide you back Into the West, and may you find eternal peace in the Halls of Mandos.
