This is really interesting and I want to speak up from a system’s pov

As a system, we all feel weird about the body lol. None of us, unfortunately, really identify with the vessel we all currently inhabit. While some get less existentially dysphoric about it (some don’t get bad about it at all even!), for the most part, the vessel is just something we inhabit.

We are also trans and neurodivergent!

I think it’s also important to note that we have some other things going on. We’ve always had a very powerful imagination and are on the delusion and paranoia side of the psychotic spectrum, so we oftentimes are able to actually trick our brain into not paying attention to our body and, instead, pretend we are in our own. This, of course, is dispelled whenever we look in a mirror or focus on our body a bit too hard.

But it is a funny experience being trans in one way, having headmates trans in the opposites direction, and thus these people actually being happy to be in a certain body!

Wait do normal people really see their bodies as part of themselves and who they are and not just something they happen to inhabit and they make the best of it/just accept it/learn to live with it???

Especially when like !!! You have some alters/headmates that come from places where gender is just plain different! We have headmates whose genders are outside of our understanding, have a completely different understanding of gender, have different ways if expressing gender, and such!

We think of one of our more recent spawns, Mickey, who went by She/It pronouns in her source, but now only goes by She/Her. In her world, “It” meant something different than it does now, and she has this deep worry that she’ll be seen as less of a feminine person by utilizing it/its.

It’s really sad seeing people endorse this kind of gatekeeping on people who are already in sensitive positions. For some headmates and alters, they were taken from their homes and slapped in a vessel that doesn’t even resemble their own! They have tumultuous pasts and memories and histories and experiences with themselves. On top of that, they’re helping some mentally ill person cope with THEIR emotions and thoughts and trauma and stuff?

They and we deserve so much better than that 💕

Yeah we have alters who are amab/otherwise not afab and the times I've seen ppl be like "no you can't have transfem alters" is ridiculous. "Your agab determines whether you can have transfem/transmasc alters or not" pov you are transphobic

I absolutely hate how some have used the transmasc and transfem labels to essentially reinvent the gender binary!

TERFs for decades: "you can't be a real woman unless you were born female."

Transexclusionists today: "you can't be a real transmasc unless you were assigned female at birth."

Just stop!

These are literally the arguments that have been used to oppress you, just directed at transgender people!

And we're systems. Our relationships to sex and gender are weird. You have introjects with complex exomemories of lives spent in other worlds as a certain sex or gender. Even many non-introjects will start one gender and later transition to another.

We shouldn't be expected to bend our gender identities to fit society's stupid binaries.

Society should bend for us!

I'm personally a cis girl in an AMAB body. If I transitioned, I would be a transmasc in an AMAB body.

If people don't like how systems identify our gender, that's their problem.

The exclusionist position isn't just its own form of transphobia, but it's also sanism and ableism, refusing to acknowledge the complexities of identity for systems, expecting us to conform to labels built by singlets that have ignored our existences and our voices.

Welcome to Plural Prompts!

We are a blog dedicated to providing writing prompts for plurals* of all shapes and sizes. There is very little fiction out there about plurality (especially fiction that doesn't demonize or stereotype it in some way), but with this blog, we hope to get the creative juices flowing and inspire some more! It's our hope that through more written works about plurality, more plurals can see themselves in fiction and enjoy engaging in community.

*if you don't consider yourself plural, but do consider yourself a system, system-adjacent, or someone with a disorder such as DID, P-DID, or OSDD, this blog is also for you! We simply use "plural" as the closest umbrella term we can get without needing to add on a thousand similar identities every time the concept comes up.

Submissions are welcome through the submission box, though we ask that unless you're submitting a prompt anonymously, you leave the ask box only for asks.

A loose but considerable tagging system will be used on this blog to track prompts of different flavors and subjects. Angst, Fluff, Suggestive, Silly, and Any Tone will be the main five tags, though any other relevant details to a prompt will of course be tagged as well.

For most prompts, these details – such as system origin, system size, etc – will be kept vague, though there will also be prompts that are more specific for those who prefer more detailed prompts. When it comes to system origin, a five term process will be used; the five origin labels that prompts will be sorted under are Adaptive, Created, Spontaneous, Mixed, and Mystery. Only if a more specific origin label is mentioned by name will a prompt be tagged as such.

As you may have noticed already, we tend to to use "plural" and "system" as our go-to words when writing. Of you don't use these words for yourself, you're still welcome to use the prompts! But as we mentioned above, if we listed off every way a person who may relate to the experiences in these prompts may describe themself/ves, the prompts would become too cluttered with polite disclaimers to be useful to anyone. If other language is used in a prompt – for example, if a character is described as "a person with DID" – that will be under the DID tag, and you may look for those prompts specifically.

Some other aspects we plan to tag, if they are ever relevant to a prompt:

The supernatural (includes monsters of all shapes and sizes, and maybe aliens too)

Partnerships (in the context of romantic or platonic life partners)

Amnesia

Dissociation

Ableism

Family

Popular AUs, such as High School, College, Coffee Shop, etc

Specific disorders, typed out with their full name (for example, we'll tag DID as "dissociative identity disorder," but not "DID")

And almost definitely more, we just can't think of them off the top of our head.

TLDR for previous few paragraphs: there's gonna be an extensive tagging system for the wide variety of prompts we plan to make. Also, the words "plural(ity)" and "system" will be the common terminology* used to describe characters who are more-than-one in some way.

*we'll also default to "headmate" and "system member," but occasionally you may see prompts that lean more towards part terminology than people terminology.

As for scheduling, we only plan to post two prompts a day, so as to avoid posting everything too soon and leaving you all without anything new. Any prompts submitted to this blog will also follow this schedule.

If there are prompt fills done for our prompts, feel free to tag us in your work, or send us an ask letting us know about it! If your work, or a link to it, is posted to Tumblr, we may reblog it here so others will find it! Any such reblogs will be under the tag #pluralprose. Credit for our prompts is highly appreciated but not necessary.

We are not going to host discourse on this blog. No kind of it. If you're here for that, just turn around now and go find one of the many discourse blogs out there. We're probably going to have to remind people of this a lot, but this is a blog for all systems/plurals, and it's probably not in your best interest to follow if you disagree with that. Just go have a temper tantrum on your own blog about how people are oppressing you by falling outside your view of how the world works, or whatever it is you do. Hate sent here will not be posted. In fact, we'll post positivity on another system blog of ours to spite you personally.

Hm... that's about all we had to say. I suppose the only thing left is to tell a bit about ourselves, eh?

First off, credit where credit is due – our header is an edited version of a header by dedheaders, and our icon art comes from our main system blog.

We've written multiple fanfictions with plurality in them, usually based on our own experiences, and have dabbled in original work with system characters.

If we take a while to respond to something you send, assume it's either because we're busy or don't have the energy. Or maybe it's a Tumblr problem. But if we get it, we'll respond to you sooner or later – with the exception of hate, we'll just delete that. But even then, we tend to address any questions or concerns from hate asks in an original post.

You probably know our other for-others system blog, funnier-as-a-system. (Surprise, surprise, we're there too!)

Our sleep schedule is non-existent and there's a good chance we need a nap at any given time /(half joke).

We try to assume good faith and ignorance before malice, and will do our best to avoid being hostile to anyone on this blog. The most you might get is some passive-agressive lines if we're addressing a concern a hateful anon had.

It’s been a while since I’ve looked at tumblr, though I guess it’s my first time really taking front in a while, too. I don’t think I ever made a post on this blog anyway.

I’m thinking about how I loved him. How he gave up so many hearts for me. How he loved me.

And that’s gone now.

I’m just. Here.

Not that romantic love is everything. But I find myself caring less than I used to. Maybe it’s because I’ve lost my position. My purpose.

I can’t find it in myself to miss anything, though.

Itch.io has announced a huge bundle of games that will benefit the people of Ukraine by funding humanitarian efforts. Millions of Ukrainians have had to flee their homes and many of them are in need of food, water, and medical care.

For a minimum donation of $10 you will receive hundreds of games valued at over $6,000

Over 700 creators have joined in support to donate their work. All proceeds from this bundle will be split between the following charities:

International Medical Corps provides medical assistance in the region. They have very low fundraising overhead (1% of income), with 89% of donations going to medical aid and 10% to administration.

Voices of Children, a Ukrainian organization that helps children cope with the horrors of war, PTSD, readjusting to school, and getting back to being kids. They have also been doing a lot of grassroots impromptu work during the war, such as helping set up shelters. Our hope is that this war will be over soon, and they can begin the work of healing these kids’ hearts.

I’m somewhere between a druid and a nymph I think? I’m a conduit of magic and it passes through me and I can perform magic while also having a strong love and reverence for nature, without being completely bound to it?

'Hu walked a stony path up into a lonely and secluded mountain. The formations here were unusual, almost like the face of some giant creature. It is to the 'head' of this creature that hu walks towards. The magic is strong up here, hu can feel it building ever stronger as hu started to climb to the top of the 'head' of the mountainous beast. There is a very important job that needs doing up here, vital in fact for both humes survival and those of the animals in the forest below. Hu closes humes eyes, humes limbs move with fluidity and purpose. The energy dwelling within is the very magic of nature itself. Hu directed it from the earth, through humeself and down into the mountain. Suddenly, water erupts from the beasts 'mouth' and continues to flow down into the dry riverbed. The land is nourished. Hu smiles.'

Does anyone know about druids, nymphs, or other nature/magic aligned folk? I’m pretty sure I’m one but I can’t figure it out ;~;

Like druid seems close but doesn’t hit the nail on the head. I practice magic but I’m a conduit of magic, not someone who controls it or “tames” it. I act as a funnel, I can redirect it but the river flows. I can take a glass and fill it up from the river but the water is not mine. I give this to others and they may drink, and I might give my own water, and it is the river that replenishes me.

This all sounds so vague but it makes sense. Please if you know something, say something.

Greetings all,

I have news.

Sometime last month, all my headmates left me. They told me I didn’t need them anymore, and they all collectively left. I’m assuming they’ve gone i to dormancy.

It was… and still is heartbreaking. Sometimes I still find myself crying over being so lonely.

But I’m still here. And I have to do good by them.

The reason for my post:

I don’t know what some things mean for me.

I was once a system. Can I still be considered as one?

I know Ezekiel was my guardian angel, but Maldeux… I don’t know if he was a headmate or a divine visitor like Ezekiel. So I wonder if @maldeux can really continue. I… I feel an obligation to those who they left behind, but how do I tell them I’m not them? I don’t feel a connection with them because I’m not them, but I still feel obligated to give everyone what they want.

Will they ever come back?

I’m hoping anyone else has answers. Please, reblog, respond, comment, DM, whatever you can do and feel comfortable with
