So, after watching the Owl House finale at like midnight and then proceeding to freak out about it for the next few hours, I was too exhausted to really put together too many coherent thoughts. Anyways, here are some of my thoughts on the Owl House series finale:
MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW
*First off, I was not okay throughout the entirety of this episode, and I was constantly switching between smiling like an idiot and fucking sobbing, so it was a rollercoaster (in the best possible way)
*That nightmare sequence based off of Luz, Eda and Kingās trauma built up throughout the show was a hell of a way to start off the episode
*Tbh though, I loved that the episode took the time to really address Luzās fears and insecurities about being too much like Belos
*Luz figuring out it was all fake because Amity is a nerd and wouldnāt have misquoted Azura? Thatās so funny and I love her for that
*The light spell really came back full circle huh, being the first spell she learned and the one that saved her multiple times in this episode
*The Luz, Eda, and King reunion?? Screaming, crying, throwing up, too many feelings to comprehend
*The Collector comparing death to broken toys that can be easily fixed really puts into perspective how little he really understands about humans, what a great moment
*Raine fighting back against Belos like the BAMF they are, I love to see it!
*I see you King, being the only one to use they/them pronouns for the Collectoe
*Luz seeing the hurt and loneliness in the Collector and giving them a chance to understand what friendship actually is was honestly so important to me. Plus, reliving all of those great moments through the show was amazing!
*I was wondering if the Titanās heart was ever going to come into play
*Iām always here for shows that understand that kindness and forgiveness are important, but that not everyone deserves it (looking at you Belos)
*While Belos was not someone the Collector should have shown kindness to, it really goes to show how he wanted to change for the better and take Luzās words to heart
*When Luz straight up fucking died, I was basically in denial until I knew she was okay. It still sucked though. I mean, the balls of light floating throughout the Boiling Isles, Camila crying, everyone not knowing what the lights mean, but also knowing that deep down, they understand, it was beautiful and heartbreaking
*The Collector trying to āfixā Luz and it not working and then being so confused and scared?? Absolutely not, excuse me while I sob again
*While I hate Eda and King being devastated about Luz, I wanted nothing more than to see them wreck Belosās shit
*So many thoughts about Kingās father! The reveal, the mini Hooty, conformation of the Titan being bigender, I loved all of it!
*Also, can we just talk about how the Titan didnāt give the powers to Luz because she was the chosen one or anything like that, but because she made the choice to be there and to keep fighting and the Titan recognized that? Because I love it!
*āSo the question is, will you choose yourself?ā I will never get over this line!
*The Camila and Amity hug?!
*Camilla and the others using the glyphs Luz had taught them was so cool!
*I really appreciate how the writers made sure that even though the Collector redeemed himself, he also recognized how his actions, no matter how naive or misguided they were, still hurt and traumatized people, and he apologized for it and put in the work to make amends and do better
*TITAN LUZ!!!
*Eda and King helping Luz with the magic made me smile so much!
*Small moment, but Hunter specifically being the one to save Gusās palisman? Guess I donāt need my heart then, thanks š
*Eda and Raine reunion! And me tearing up for the 50th time during this episode
* āFor I am the Good Witch Luz, child of the Human Realm, student of the Demon Realm, and warrior of peace! Now eat this sucker!ā OH MY GID SHE SAID IT ASFFHGDGHJJBV ITāS DO COOL
*Iāve seen arguments over Belosās death and ngl, Iām glad it was anticlimactic. He didnāt deserve anything more than melting away and having his head stomped in
*Luz not saying a single word as Belos made one more attempt to manipulate her? Absolutely incredible. Luz understanding that she isnāt like Belos and not letting his words get to her and drag her down with him? Everything I needed to see
*All if the family reunions at the end had me crying, especially when Hunter thought he was all alone and then Darius appeared and Hunter immediately brightened up and was showing off his shirt and god, this episode has wrecked me
*I canāt even begin to point out everything I loved about the time jump epilogue, so Iāll just share some of my favorites!
*The new character designs! I loved every one of them! I freaked out every time a different character was shown
*Hunter learning how to carve palismen!
*Eda being the headmaster of the School of Wild Magic!
*The matching flapjack tattoos!
*Luz going to college in the Demon Realm!
*The Darius and Alador moment we got!
*The quinceaƱera?! Dana was so real for making sure we got to see that!
*Everyone saying the iconic Byeeee at the end, making me cry (again)
If you made it through all of that, thanks for reading, and feel free to share any thoughts by commenting or dming me! All in all, I loved this episode so much, as Iām sure a lot of other people did, and Iām so happy that I got to watch this incredible show and go on this journey with Luz, Eda, King, and the rest of the Boiling Isles! ā¤ļø
So, I just finished watching the finale of The Owl House, and Iām not here to give spoilers, but I just wanted to say how much I adored it. Every moment of it was just incredible and had me literally squealing, and although I tried to keep it together, I couldnāt stop the tears from coming once it was over. This show has meant so much to me over these past few years (as I know it has for a lot of other people), and though Iām heartbroken to see it end, I could never even begin to thank Dana Terrace and the whole team who worked on The Owl House for giving us this show that Iāll treasure forever. You all gave us weirdos a place to come together, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
happy fanfic writer appreciation day to EVERYONE who has ever posted a fic, tried to write a fic, wanted to write a fic but didnāt think your writing was āgood enoughā to be shared (between you and me, it is!!!) because ALL of you make this fandom better with your creativity and beautiful words, whether you know it or not. thank you!!!!!!!!!! ā£ļøā£ļøā£ļø
Alright, so itās super late here, and I donāt have the energy to write out any long posts, but what the hell where those new Amphibia and Owl House episodes?! Like, I wasnāt mentally prepared for either of them and I just wanted to rant about it for a second when it was still fresh before trying to write somewhat coherent thoughts later. Please tell me Iām not the only one freaking out about them, and everything that happened! It was too much for my brain to handle at 3 in the morning šš
Here are my thoughts on episode 16 of The Owl House!
Be warned, this will have A LOT of spoilers for this episode, so if you donāt want to see them, just scroll on by!
Episode 16, Hollow Mind:
*Buckle in, because I have A LOT of thoughts about this one
*So, there were so many theories the fandom had that were confirmed in this episode?! Belos being Philip, Hunter being a Grimwalker, Philipās brother being the āoriginalā Hunter, and the grim walkers being different versions of him?! All confirmed, all in one episode. Iām freaking out, so I canāt imagine how Luz is feeling!
*I loved seeing the Collector, and Iām very excited to see how this character is going to play into Unity Day and Belosās plans! Iāve been seeing so many theories about him, and Iāll just say, Iām prepared for the trauma
*While I did already have previous theories about a lot of the reveals in this episode, one absolutely caught me off guard and made me sit in silence before freaking out after it was over. Okay, so weāve seen Belosās hatred towards wild witches and wild magic, but I always assumed it was because he wanted control over all of the witches in the Boiling Isles and all the magic to be controlled by the covens. To discover that, actually, Belos sees magic and witches as dangerous and evil, and wants to rid the world of them for good, and, at least Iām assuming, thatās what Unity Day is all about?! I wasnāt really prepared for that
*A small thing, but I was so intrigued to see Belosās staff looking different, and to see how it has changed over time
*āIt hurts every time he chooses to betray meā Iām guessing this means that history keeps repeating itself, and every version of Hunter ultimately ends up betraying Belos and siding with wild witches. This really worries me as to whatās gonna happen when Hunter does the same thing
*Iām still not sure what exactly the Unity Day plans are, and I am both excited and terrified with every new piece we get
*Okay, so I have a few new theories:
*First of all, with the palisman, I donāt know if Iām right about this, or maybe this is super obvious and I just got it, but I feel like maybe the magic in the palismen are keeping whatever is going on with Belos at bay, which is why they took on the form of that creature in Belosās mindscape, and why heās so desperate to get them, because the magic (spell? curse?) that he used on himself is getting out of control. Honestly, Iām kinda waiting for the irony of Belos using the thing that he hates the most, and that being his downfall in the end, but idk
*Secondly, and Iām kinda excited about this one, when Belos said something about the Golden guards being better version of his friend (who I think is his brother), it made me think that what if Philipās brother had befriended wild witches, and tried to convince Philip that they werenāt dangerous. However, Philip ended up killing his brother, and making the grimwalkers to create better, more obedient versions of him
*To further back this theory, in Belosās mindscape, there were a bunch of photos with him and his brother, the original Hunter, and in everyone, the brotherās face is scratched out, which leads me to believe there was some kind of animosity or falling out between them. Plus, thereās another photo where the brother is walking towards a witch with a smile, while Belos/Philip is hiding, looking worried, which brings me back to my above theory
*Not to mention the countless other paintings that depict their history, showing them fighting, and the brother lying next to Belosās knife, assumedly dead
*āCanāt reason with crazyā Parallel to what Luz had said to Eda earlier in the show?! Seems like too much of a coincidence, but maybe thatās just me looking into things too much
*So, now that Luz knows Philip and Belos are the same person, what will this mean for her? What kind of impact will knowing that Philip, a human, somehow became a witch and is able to do magic? And what kind of impact will it have on the rest of the Boiling Isles when they find out?
*Hunter. Hunter my poor boy. He tried so hard to convince himself that the only family he had was a good person, and then to find out everything, and then come to the realization that not only was Belos harming others instead of helping them, but now he has nowhere that he feels like he belongs, and is absolutely terrified? Someone give this boy a hug, and give Belos a nice, painful death
Alright, that was a lot! Hope you guys enjoyed, and werenāt too traumatized by this episode! Iād love to hear your thoughts and theories too!
Here we go again! My thoughts on episodes 13 and 14 of The Owl House! Yes, I do realize that this is going up way late, but life, you know? What can you do about it š
Also, I will hopefully try and get my thoughts up about episodes 15 and 16 much quicker!
This will contain spoilers for the new episodes, so if you donāt want to see them, just scroll on by!
The Owl House, Episode 13: Any Sport in a Storm
*Weāre finally back with a Willow centric episode, and I am so happy! Seeing her growth from the beginning of the show to now has been so amazing, and as someone who really relates to Willow, honestly inspiring. The confidence, the new hair, the glow up, itās so awesome to see
*Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate buff Willow?
*Aah, I loved seeing appearances from some background characters like Skara and Viney, cause I love them and I love how this show makes every character, even background characters, feel important to the story
*Hunter making friends?! Hunter forming connections and experiencing healthy and normal teenage life?! Hunter looking happy in that photo?! Iām doing fine, I promise
*Throughout this entire episode, I felt so sorry for Hunter and everything heās been through, and as more things happened, I felt worse for him. I mean, heās never been around kids his own age or knows how to talk to them, he felt like he had to prove himself to everyone in his life in order to be loved and respected, he looked genuinely happy, for the first time, when he was celebrating with the others after their flyer derby victory.
*However, what hurt me the most was how Hunter truly thought that stabbing each other in the back, being put through countless trials, and only looking out for yourself was normal, because it was all he ever knew. The only people heās every really been around are Belos and the Coven Heads, who probably havenāt set the best examples for him
*Except for Raine and Darius, theyāre the exceptions
The Owl House, Episode 14: Reaching Out
*From the first moment, I could tell this episode was gonna have a lot of āØtraumaāØ
*Luz texting Hunter makes me so happy! I just love seeing Hunter making connections with people, even if theyāre small, because itās progress, and any type of progress is important
*Wrong person?! Then whoās the right person?! I need answers!
*Iām glad that TOH is taking the time to really showcase Luzās struggle with missing her mom, cause itās a tough topic, but an important part of Luzās character and storyline
*Iām loving the Amity and Mr. Blight interactions!
*The voice modifier spell was insane! Iām a nerd, but it excites me to see how magic can be experimental and achieve so many different things, and I canāt wait to see where it goes!
*Ugh, Ed and Em are literally so adorable. Ed with his glasses, Em with her hair down, I love it!
*āOoh, so pretty!ā Iām dead, Iām deceased, that will live in my head nonstop for the next two weeks
*THE MIGHTY MITTENS!
*Yeah, magic duels, letās go! Iām, god, just always so impressed with the fighting sequences in this show! The smooth animations, the insane techniques, both in spell work and fighting styles, just everything is great!
*Ed character development?! I feel so spoiled! Like, how many characters are receiving development in this episode?? Iāve lost count
*Amity and Luzās advancements in their magic and skill level? Amazing!
*Okay, so I was absolutely taken aback by the revelation that it was the anniversary of Luzās dad passing away?! Like, it was obvious that something was up, but I assumed it was more about her guilt over not being with her mom. Wow, yeah, uhm, Iām not cryingā¦š
*I will always be here for Amity and Luz being understanding and supportive girlfriends for each other, showing how both of them deal with trauma, but theyāll be there for each other to help them through it, and I just love representation of realistic and healthy relationships
*Amity standing up for herself is amazing to see! Watching her slowly work on understanding herself and her boundaries and setting them with those around her, especially her parents, is not only incredible character development, but also really inspiring for so many people (me included)
*Uniting with the Titan?! What does that mean?
*Okay, so small moment, but Amity standing up for her bodily autonomy when she didnāt want her dad to hug her? Yes, we need to see more of that in media!
I am absolutely obsessed with this theory, for so many reasons, and itās all Iāll be thinking about for the indefinite future. Like, I love the idea that thereās this entity that was able to recognize Luzās pure intentions with the glyphs and magic, and Belos/Philipās selfish intentions, and withheld the glyphs from him, while revealing them to Luz right away!
āPlant growth, ice, fire. Took me years to find them. Almost as if the world wanted to hide them from me.ā
- philip wittebane on finding the glyphs
this statementās implications are insane. it indicates
1) the presence of some kind of entity that dictates who connects to wild magic (probably the titan)
2) that this entity dislikes philip enough to prevent him from discovering them for YEARS. luz found her light glyph after like a week!
the boiling isles really vibe checked this man on sight. and they were so correct
So, I meant to post this after watching last weekās episodes, but I kinda forgot, so here we are, with my thoughts and theories from last weekās and this weekās episodes!
WARNING! This will have spoilers for the two new Owl House and Amphibia episodes, so just skip this post if you donāt want to see them!
The Owl House Season 2 Episode 11:
*I love the format of starting some of the episodes with Luzās diary entries, but having to watch Luz come up with reasons to convince her mom that the Boiling Isles is a great place, but everything going wrong, was tough to watch
*I thought seeing King without his skull was the worst thing Iād see. I was wrong. So wrong. Hooty as a skeleton will haunt my nightmares forever
*Every single Lumity moment in this episode killed me! Not just the adorable moments at the beginning, with the blushing and CHEEK KISS, but also the moments where Luz opened up to Amity about her struggles
*Seeing Luz get so excited about Eda and Raine warmed my heart so much!
*Can we talk about how Amity didnāt go through Luzās phone and respected her privacy? Representation of healthy relationships for the win!
*I lost my mind when we got the Amity and Willow interaction! I have been waiting for a one on one moment between them for so long, and we got it and it was so good! Also, Willow getting her new hairy style from Amity because it was probably something that they used to do as kids Iām just sfgsdhjdghhgg
*I love Terraās design! She is such a cool and interesting character, and Iām excited to see more of her
*Then there was the scenes with Eda and Raine, which took my heart and stomped all over it. It was so awful to watch, especially when you know theyāre both hurting. Honestly, though, Iām still not sure if Raine is under a spell, and theyāve actually forgotten, or if they were forced to push Eda away and fake it.
*Seeing more of Kikimoraās character was so cool, and Iām so intrigued to see what her development will be like, whether sheāll get redemption or not
*Whatās up with this Unity Day plan?! We already knew that Unity Day had something to do with getting rid of wild magic, but how could Belos get rid of all wild magic in one go? And how will it involve the Coven leaders? Does the portal have anything to do with it? There are still so many questions!
The Owl House Season 2 Episode 12:
*Luz and Lilith being able to show their nerdy sides with each other was everything I never knew that I needed
*It was so cool hearing more about Edaās familyās background, and how they were known for making palisman!
*Call me a nerd, but I love time travel stuff! However, the hidden time pools leading to different time periods was one of the most interesting concepts Iāve ever seen! Plus, that moment when Lilith tripped over a rock, but it was actually herself looking through one of the time pools?! I loved it
*Okay, so at this point, there is no doubt in my mind that Belos is Phillip. I mean, his hatred towards witches, especially wild witches, the glyphs on his arm that reminded me a bit of Belosās condition, and absorbing the palisman at the end of the episode. Iāve had this theory for a while, but this pretty much confirms it for me
*One thing Iām still unsure about, but very intrigued by, is this other human with Phillip. I feel like itās Hunter, or Hunter is somehow connected to it. But, then thereās also the theory that Hunter is a grim walker. Iām torn between the two. Unless, possible crazy theory, but hear me out: Hunter was the other human, but something happened to him, and Belos created the grim walker to be sort of like a replacement for him, which is maybe why heās a witch, but canāt use magic? Idk, just throwing something out there
*So, Lilith thought the village in the past was going to be dangerous because of wild magic, but it was actually a very pleasant and beautiful place, unlike present day Bonesboroughā¦How are we all feeling about that?
* Iām also very interested in how Lilith and Luz interacting with Philip will change things?! Like, if Philip is Belos, will they be the reason why he started hating wild witches, or what pushed him closer to where he is now?! Will we see any changes in the present? Idk man, but there could be some really cool things there
*Edaās reunion with her dad? Seeing how the guilt has been weighing on Eda all these years, especially with how it impacted her dadās work with carving palisman? Eda and her dad carving Owlbert together?! Iām totally fine š
Amphibia Season 3 Episode 11
*Whatās better than one character worrying about her parent/s and how sheāll have to eventually choose between two worlds and say goodbye to one? Two characters! Watching Anne have to deal with that pain throughout the entire episode was awful, but at least she got to say goodbye to them before she left
*That ending. Why. I knew it was coming, but it still hurt. And now weāll have to see everyone go through the aftermath of the destruction of Amphibia, and the guilt of having left it behind
*I adore Anneās parents so much! Thatās it. I just love them
*Seeing all the characters from this season come together was so cool, and I loved seeing all the interactions between them
*Every time Anne uses her powers, UGHH, itās so cool, but that last time was especially interesting, because know we know that she can, in a way, generate energy, like a human battery, and I wonder if thatās another clue as to where the power came from, and what exactly it is. From Anneās comment earlier in the season, about how she got a bad feeling from using it, Iām not sure if this power is gonna be a positive thing. Also, I canāt wait to see the other powers!
Amphibia Season 3 Episode 12
*I loved seeing Anne and the Plantersā reaction to whatās happened in Amphibia since they left. Was I devastated? Yes. Was I also very intrigued? Also yes
*I am so excited about the new vibe of the show and the direction itās going in with the resistance and the war against King Andrias, especially with the different missions they went on
*The resistance was so cool, and it was really interesting to see how they live as a society underground, and see the world that theyāve built
*I thought it was so funny to see the Planters have to readjust to Amphibia after being in Anneās world for so long, and all those moments made me laugh
*It was amazing to see Sashaās growth, and how she was trying to be a better friend to Anne and start to fix their relationship
*Iām really growing to love Sasha as a character, and seeing not only her growth, but also see her personality show through. The flag waving was adorable!
*Sprig and Ivy are adorable as a couple
*Okay, but those collars were crazy, and it was such an interesting detail to show how King Andrias has changed Amphibia. Iām curious (and slightly afraid) to see how else the world has changed
Sorry for the long post! Let me know what you guys thought about the episodes! Iād love to hear everyone elseās reactions and theories
Throwback to the tweet that got me to watch The Owl House! I honestly couldnāt imagine my life without this show, and Iām so excited for season 2B next week!
ok but mad respect for dana for just straight up saying āluz and amity are gayā from the get-go and not have us speculating on it for easy views.
Did I stay up on Friday until 4 am to watch episode 5 of The Owl House? Yes
Do I regret it? No, and youāll understand why if youāve seen it
Oh. My. God. This episode was amazing, and Iām absolutely not okay! Iāve already watched it three times and Iām so ready to make other people watch the show just so that we can talk about this episode. Also, how dare Dana Terrace make me feel so many things?! Like, itās been two days and Iām still reeling from all the emotions I felt in 20 minutes.
Seriously, go watch this episode right now! Drop everything and watch it, and then come back so we can talk, and rant about it!
Hey guys! If you watch The Owl House, this is for you! I just found out about this today, but apparently there will be a virtual screening of the first two episodes of season two of The Owl House on June 5th. Unfortunately, tickets have already sold out (yeah, Iām bummed too)
Hereās the tweet from Disney Animation Promos about it:
I know a lot of fans have probably already heard about it, but if you havenāt, I just wanted to let you know so that you guys can be prepared for spoilers. There most likely will be some, but Iām hoping there wonāt be. I want to make sure people know so that they can be careful on social media until the premier on June 12th.
Iām not really sure what was up with the promotion for this event, since most people werenāt even aware of it when it was announced, but please, if you do have tickets, donāt post spoilers, or at least make sure to put plenty of warnings so that other fans arenāt caught off guard. Also, I donāt have much information on this beyond this post and some comments, so Iām not sure what else was going on, such as whether there was more promotion elsewhere or why the event is free and virtual, but yet had a limited amount of tickets. I just want to make people aware of this.
I so hope ticket holders enjoy the event, and for the rest of us, canāt wait to watch it on June 12th!
Hey guys! I need some more fanfic recommendations! This time for My Hero Academia!
Ships I like:
Deku x Todoroki
Bakugo x Kirishima
Denki x Shinsou (especially need helping finding some good fics for this ship)
*I like others, but those are the ones I actively search for for fanfics
Iām pretty much fine with anything for fics, except for smut. These are minors. Please no smut! Or Bakudeku (nothing against the ship, I just personally donāt like it and donāt like to read about it). Mostly just looking for well written fics that have an interesting story
Also fine with manga/anime spoilers, because Iām completely caught up
