Good news!

I have finished my final assignment! 🙌 I am SO incredibly tired it's not even funny. I have that degree show to do still, but it isn't for another week yet. I can relax at last! I've been working consistently on assignments since February, and it's been rough.

I've had my birthday, I'm 22 now. There's not really much else to say about that, haha. But the good news for those waiting on me to update: once I've rested for a bit, I'll be getting around to uploading the next chapter of EWSR? and it's almost done anyway. I might get round to trying to update Devoted, too, but that will take a bit longer.

I don't have much else to update about other than those things. So hold on tight, and hopefully, more regular updates (for EWSR?) will begin again. I've missed the fic, and it's been on my mind all this time. It's the first thing on my list!

General Update,

I know I have been fairly quiet lately and I have been withholding the long-awaited update on EWSR? but trust, I've been busy. For anyone here that doesn't know, I am currently a university student in my final year and last semester. Recently, I got through the last of March's deadlines (they were brutal!) and have 2 more to meet in April, and bcs uni planning sucks they're due on the same day. I am so unbelievably tired and tense all of the time. Fellow autistics, I am barely combating burnout. Plus, besides those deadlines, I have a deadline for something I spontaneously volunteered to do like a month or so ago coming up. I thought I had more time for it, but they pushed it forward!

Other than that, I applied for a masters earlier this month and I got an offer! All I gotta do is ace these deadlines and have their results combined with last years and...touch on wood, I'll get in! I'll be graduating in July, and I still need to arrange all that shit. Life has just been a lot for me for a while, and I can't wait until I can be chill again. It's gonna be my birthday next Saturday, I'll be 22, which is a big sounding age that I don't know how to feel about, haha.

Once I have everything sorted out and I've recharged my batteries for a bit, trust, you will be getting EWSR?'s update. I don't want to just toss it out at you guys half-assed just bcs I'm busy, that's some wattpad shit. I left that phase behind yonks ago when I graduated to ao3. I know I've left everyone waiting for it and ppl are prolly either not bothered at this point or are biting at the bit or something, but I just want you to know that the fic isn't abandoned. I'm just a young adult trying to juggle adult responsibilities, and trying not to lose my mind in the process. I've been dealing with mean tummy aches too, but I'm being brave about it (don't have a choice).

If there is anyone lurking for my Devoted fic...I'll return to that in time, once I figure out where I'm going with it. On a side note, I've had 2 fic ideas in mind for the past few weeks. One is due to the return of my love for Death Note and amusement of Naruto combined, the other is a Harry Potter Drarry fic which I'm not confident in writing bcs I don't think I have the patience to write it the way I want to, haha.

OKAY. ANOTHER TEASER BCS I REALLY AM CLOSE TO GETTING IT FINISHED. Who knew balancing life stuff would be so difficult.

So, Peter is gonna bump into Tony and Natasha, but it's changed in nature. He doesn't know who they are yet, so he doesn't know its them, but he meets them separately in seemingly insignificant ways. That's all I'm gonna say about them. They'll be invading the main narrative very soon!

Peter meets Harry as himself as promised. And maybe, just maybe...Harry notices something later with Spidey. Peter might think that a mask can protect his identity, but he forgets about the fact his voice isn't altered when wearing it, haha.

I'm not a big fan of misunderstanding tropes in fics, so that isn't happening with Parksborn. I plan to write from Harry's perspective in the next chapter. His last pov was well received, and I think we need a break from Peter for at least a chapter or so. I love him, but I love Softie Harry Osborn too.

And as promised Peter and Otto interact more. Peter just can't help but see his mentor in a fatherly light...I wonder how Tony would react to that if he knew? Perhaps best he doesn't find out, haha. I finished the game in December, and I felt quite impacted by the ending, so I really wanted to try flesh out their interaction. I've also decided that I'll be somewhat incorporating Devil's Breath, but instead of a plague, it's something else. Tensions are beginning to rise and soon chaos will spread, and in will enter a familiar group...Sable. That's all I'm gonna spoil for future elements of this fic!

Another teaser for Chapter 6 of EWSR? | Parksborn Fic

I'm feeling a little devious, haha. Currently continuing to write chapter 6 of Everyone Wants Something Right?, and while I have put out a lil teaser already. I now propose another.

So, I felt like while another scene or two with Pepper and Otto would be good, as well as Parksborn's date but not date. I figured there needed to be something more. Especially because the wait for this update has been going on for a while. So, you'll also be getting two additional 'fun' scenes. One with Tony AND Natasha with Peter, and the other with Peter being approached by Harry while being Peter Parker.

I wouldn't usually expose so much of key events that happen in upcoming chapters, but it's a treat, that and I'm excited for people to read about it, haha. This isn't to say that the plot suddenly goes from 2 to 10, but it does go from 2 to 3, haha. This isn't a slow burn, I promise, but I don't want things to escalate too quickly. This chapter will be the paving stone for things to gradually escalate .... like Tony and Natasha's stalking and murdering habits.

Just vampire things y'know? *nervous laughter* Peter is not going to have a good time in the future. His moral code does not line up well with the morals/ethics of vampires as long lived as Tony.

I won't say anything else for now. Hopefully, the next time I post it will be to announce that the chapter is up and to provide a link for it.

Spider-Man (2018) Aftermath Otto vs Spidey Boss-Battle Ramble

Just finished playing Spider-Man (2018) and that final Peter & Otto scene RUINED me. I expected to lose it when Aunt May would die, bcs they were setting it up to end like that, but gosh, I did not expect that heartbreaking scene between mentor and student.

To me, that final scene between them was such a good depiction of someone like Otto who is mentally unstable/ill, and it isn't their fault, but they lose their way and lash out. And Peter, who is like a carer, someone close to that hurt person, who loves them, and wants to help, but they can't anymore.

It's like Peter says to Otto when he tells him that he can't save him. "I guess you'll have to save yourself." It's the motions that they go through during the conversation, how it shifts because of how Peter doesn't respond the way Otto wants/hopes. The way Otto suffers, we can understand it and partially sympathise, and we are able to do this purely because of Peter's perspective, bcs of the journey we go through with him up to that point. Peter loves Otto, and it hurts to hear him talk the way he does. It hurts him to know about the terrible things Otto did that has hurt all of NYC...all of it is far from who he knew the man to be before.

"You were everything I wanted to be!" This line really got to me in particular. How, while Otto tires to backtrack and get out of the situation the best he can, if he could only convince Peter, it doesn't work, bcs it just shows Peter just how far gone Otto is from what he knew. And yet, despite that knowledge, despite his crimes, and despite the trouble, the betrayal, the physical assault made against him, the attempted manipulations, and Aunt May...despite all of it, Peter chose kindness. He chose to look after Otto.

Otto: I should have known you'd turn on me, just like all the others.

Peter: Turn? Turn? I worshipped you! Your mind...your conscience, wanting to help others...the way you never gave up!

Otto: That's because men like us have a duty. A responsibility. To use our talents in the service of others. Even if they don't appreciate it...we have to do what's best for those beneath us. Whether they understand it or not.

Peter: No. You're wrong. You were everything I wanted to be! You just...threw it away!

Otto: Yes, of course. You're right, Peter. I see that now. The neural interface affected my mind. But I can fix it. We can fix it...together. If you'll help me.

Peter: I'll do everything I can. I'll make sure you get the best help.

Otto: No! If they put me away, they'll take my arms! I'll be trapped in this *useless* body! Please, Peter.

Otto: That...wasn't me. You said...you'd never abandon me, you promised, remember? And, of course, you'll rest easy knowing your secret is safe with me.

Peter: You do what you think is best, Doc. It's all any of us can.

Otto: Peter-?

Peter: Even when it hurts like hell.

Otto: Peter? Where are you going? Peter? PETER!!

This whole bit shows Otto trying different tactics but at his core he's scared of being vulnerable, of not having his arms. I'm not sure if Otto came back for a few moments or not. However, I am sure that when he began to agree with Peter, telling him he was right, and trying to show that they're similar, and subtly said that they're superior to everyone else...that was definitely manipulative in nature.

Does he still care for Peter in some capacity? Honestly, it is difficult to tell, it was left ambiguous. I personally hope that somewhere deep down Otto does still care for Peter. He did tell him that he saw him as a son, but whether or not that was also manipulation or partially true idk. I hope we get to have a scene of him regarding Peter in the sequel, or a mention of him at least. I mean, Peter lost two people he loved in one day and both were very traumatising. Hopefully, it won't be swept under the rug completely.

Devoted | Chapter 1 | Parksborn & Irondad Fic

Summary:

Peter Barnes is an unorthodox omega by many standards, but like most omegas, he enjoyed the finer things in life. What he wanted, he got. It is as simple as that. The world owed him that much. Even his family was unorthodox: adopted alpha-pair parents, a beloved teacher, and his ward Miles and his girlfriend Gwen.

He had witnessed many naive souls claim to have fallen in love with him in the past, but none were more determined in this belief than Harry Osborn. They met at university, although Peter could not remember how, and that is the point because, for him, it was an insignificant moment, but for Osborn, it was the day his outlook on life changed. The man is obsessed and has been adamant about his affections ever since.

It would be flattering if not so concerning and pitiful. Luckily, Peter had everything under control. That is, until his birth parents discover him and try to force their way into his life. His father, famous surgeon Tony Stark, is particularly keen to reconnect—too keen. And in a turn of events, Peter must work together with Harry to expose the biggest predator in NYC—Norman Osborn, Harry's father and mayor of the city.

So, after a sucsessful poll, I was able to come to a decision about Harry's a/b/o dynamic, and continued writing up the first chapter which is now available to read! Thank you for waiting patiently. I didn't mean for the chapter to be 10,420 words but eh, happy reading.

I would like to credit @midnight-raven as their 'Dark IronDad & Dark SpiderSon Prompt: Prodigal Son AU' inspired me to create this fic. I will admit that I haven't seen the show, as it isn't available to me. But for the past few weeks, I have been obsessed with the interesting dynamic between Malcom and Martin (as many others are).

My fic will be an a/b/o fic (no mpreg or traditional dynamics), the main relationship will be Peter Parker/Harry Osborn, and it will have dark irondad.

Harry doesn't appear in this chapter, but he is mentioned. We meet Pepper and Tony to Peter's dismay. This chapter is the beginning of where the plot can take off in the next chapter. I won't spoil too much but Tony and Pepper's pesistence to be part of his life again will push Peter to connect with Harry.

I'm not completely happy with how this chapter came out, but its the paving stone for the good stuff to come. Parksborn, it's parksborn, haha. The start of it at least, this won't be a slow burn, but let's just say this...Peter is gonna make Harry work to have a proper chance with him. We love a character who knows what he wants and makes his man work for it, haha.

I have an idea for a potential new Parksborn/Dark Irondad fic, and it has A/B/O in it, but non traditional, sort of. I need help deciding Harry's status.

Anyway, I have this idea, and I don't wanna say too much about it plotwise yet, however the dynamic of Peter and Harry is relatively important for their relationship. So I'll talk a bit about that, there is a poll at the end. I'd appreciate at least having ppl let me know which of the a/b/o options/concepts for Harry Osborn they'd prefer reading about.

Peter's dynamic is set in stone. He is an omega, but he is an oddity, there hasn't been an omega like him before. He doesn't experience the 'head empty only smutty time' mindset that omegas typically have. Instead, it's like he gets a period, but it's just slick and he experiences little to no excitement. He does however display great strength like a typical alpha and his emotions can spiral if he isn't careful. He does display some typical omega traits like wanting frequent affection from his parents (his alpha dads Steve & Bucky), and being comfortable and even pleased at times with their protective and doting attitudes towards him.

I won't talk about that further, I'll leave it for when I get around to uploading the fic on ao3. I'll post a link to it on my blog when I do. For anyone interested it will be dark irondad vaguely inspired by Prodigal Son. I haven't seen it, as it isn't available on any streaming platforms I have, but I've looked into the dynamic Martin and Malcolm have, that is what got me interested in the first place. I found it through a post on here actually, I'll be tagging/linking them for the inspo when I get round to posting about the fic.

So, this is where I was hoping for some input. It is a parksborn fic and I like having Harry being a simp for Peter. What I'm struggling with is deciding what his dynamic is going to be because I am leaning towards them having an 'untraditional' relationship as far as a/b/o worlds go.

To help give a better picture of their relationship, at least regarding Peter, while he is an omega he is by no means 'biologically normal' by the standard of society. It isn't a bad thing, just 'weird' and 'baffling' to them, meanwhile Peter is not bothered by it, instead, he welcomes it. He would be kind and tender hearted as he usually is, which fits the sterotypical omega list of traits, but he will be prone to experiencing some mood swings (these won't always be obvious). He experiences his emotions strongly and a bit erratically. He views them critically and analytically this is primarily because of his job and a habit of repressing himself. Some alphas might feel intimidated by his differences (bcs insecure men always are), and some alphas might think by some of his behaviours and mannerisms that he is an alpha.

The thing about Peter though is that he is will be deceptive in apperence. He would seem warm and welcoming, he dresses up a bit (not much though), he probably does skin care and looks after himself, and he keeps his hair long (I can imagine Tom's wavyish curls, are they called curls, if not what should I call the texture?). However, despite his inviting appearence it can actually be a weapon of sorts to manipulate those around him. Peter isn't bad in this fic, to him he is just trying to survive in a world where omegas are few, fetishied, occationally mistreated, and underestimated. So, what is an omega like him to do when he seemingly has an advantage? He uses it. So, he subtly manipulates everyone he comes in contact with if he deems it necessary, behaving in a way that is authentic to himself but appeals to the outsiders view of a 'good' omega. He doesn't want to be restricted or limited by others, so for him what he does is helping him survive in a world that isn't made for him to succeed. But I can see how it might come across that he could be morally grey and maybe he is...a little..deep deep down.

He can use his pheremones/scent more effectively too, it is kind of like a dr*g he can cast in the air to calm people to the point it manipulates their perception of what is going on. So, angry alphas in the room? Peter puts out a calming scent or one of hurt and sadness that is strong enough to have those alphas become distracted and decide to comfort him instead of arguing. They might even forget why they were fighting or suddenly dismiss the importance the conversation might have held. I imagine that he would have practised this a lot with Stucky, haha. Basically Peter is kinda 'biologically' enhanced in some aspects. With Harry in the picture, Peter would be analysing him, thinking over the best way to navigate him, and uh, yeah, act accordingly. Harry would prefer Peter at his most authentic, that is the whole reason he gets so attracted to him in the first place. He likes how Peter is, no masking, no manipulations, no pretending, just Peter as his lovable, chaotic, maybe mentally ill self. Now that is love.

No matter what Harry will be, he will be facinated by how different Peter is and is attracted to his more authorative-ish (?) nature. I'm not saying they'd be in a dom/sub kind of thing. They're both kind of different, or at least Peter wakes up something kinda feral in him that is like "yeah, this one, this is my man, and I'm gonna stand beside him". Harry will have an obssesion with Peter. Maybe he got addicted to Peter's scent, or maybe he was exposed to too high of a dose in a short time, or maybe they're fated mates like Harry will believe they are. He'll just need to convince and 'prove' to Peter that they are, which will be something, ha. When they do get together though they'll be cute and kinda weird, but its fine bcs they're them yk.

That was long winded, but I wanted some context for how Harry was gonna be paried up with Peter and what Peter will be like. I'm struggling to decide which of the options in the poll I prefer more.

So which would be more appealing?

I need someone to psychoanalyze harry osborn bc that man is a privileged & conventionally attractive trust fund baby who could have any girl... and he chooses the one he knows his best friend has been obsessed with for over a decade? and treats her like a trophy wife to show off to his dad and shower with gifts, all while saving the domestic and intimate parts of his life/personality for peter (who he shares an apartment with)? that begs the question -- does he court mj bc he likes her, or because peter likes her? and if its the later, for what cause? then in spiderman 2 he's been broken up with her for a while with no hard feelings, and asks peter on what is essentially a date to meet his idol otto octavius and to witness the fusion reactor being turned on. he also suggests to peter 'omg go hit on mj' despite knowing mj is in a very committed relationship. perhaps bc he wanted peter to get over his high school crush & move onto the person who was actually on the market (him). later, he slaps peter twice while crying in front of a room full of ppl bc 'you piss me off. your loyalty to spiderman and not your best friend.... you defend him bc he's your bread and butter' like a scorned lover who found out his partner was cheating. harry babe I diagnose u w 'idiot in love'
