Two years ago, @justmercedes reposted one of my doodles that displayed a simple caption.

Find your happiness.

A fragile sentence that holds power only you can control. For your own good. Be the one who inspires. Be the one to push further for what YOU want. Be the change.

Sasha Banks has ALWAYS been such an amazing inspiration for me. During some of the hardest days, watching her matches, drawing her attires, documentaries , interviews, and everything was such a relieving way to cope.

I never knew I could connect so deeply despite never meeting her before. The amount of reposts on her stories, comments, and likes alone never fail to make me cry.

Sasha Banks as a character was someone I always wanted to be. I didn’t have friends growing up, and all I wanted was to be confident in myself.

But in my years of admiring her character, I always forget that these performers have lives outside of just wrestling.

After Sasha Banks took a break, no one really knew who she would become if she had returned.

Months of discovery lead Sasha into a wrap of the bad. Once free, she spread her wings into a new path.

Not only did she shed off her skin from a mask of who is, but she know knew who she was.

The game had changed...

And happiness she found 🖤

So, much like the previous post, I haven’t been the greatest. But I’m gonna take the time to express how proud I am of this woman.

From humble beginnings, Mercedes pushed herself. She pushed herself to be supportive to her family and their struggles. She pushed herself to find her way through her dreams. She pushed herself to make her dreams a reality. And then she lost it. She lost what she dreamt of doing. And overall lost who mercedes was in the cloud of being Sasha Banks.

But she still pushed.

She pushed herself to esacpe what she loved. She pushed herself to new limits and finding what she needed to heal. She pushed herself to grow. 🦋

I’ve looked up to her for about 5 years, and I’m so happy with how far she’s grown. It gives me a lot of hope for what I could do or what I could be in my future. If she could do it, and I know I can too!

I watch her matches, cry to her documentaries, squeal for her accomplishments, and draw her things, all because I think she deserces it all. She crawled her way through disagreements and critiques and came on top. She really did this.

It’s so amazing to me to watch people grow. It helps me understand people and what could happen in time when they lose hope in what the furture holds. It gives me so much hope.

So Mercedes, if you happen to find my silly little drawing, just know, that I love and appreciate everything you’ve helped me discover. I thank you for the comments on some of my posts, the reposts on your story, the likes, that ine repost and just everything!!

All of that keeps me moving and my wings haven’t ever been this wide, until I decided to find myself. I’m only 17, but I truly do appreciate everything. Please, never stop doing what you love. And if you get tired, do what’s best for you!! It’s no one’s right to tell you how you move on your journey to keep in growing.

Hi,

I drew this picture of Sasha Banks to clear my mind of the negativity around me. I specifically drew sasha because I feel like she’s definitely gone through apart of her life feeling this way. I love the way she expresses herself and appreciate her for inspiring me to express myself in my own way too. 🖤

My reality right now isn’t what it seems. Everyday I wake up either feeling extremely numb, or overall empty. I haven’t felt like this since 2017. I’ve been depressed since February. If you aren’t aware, my mom and brother were in a car accident in that month and ever since then nothing has been the same. It mostly effected my mom. She almost died in that accident. My mom is everything to me. She was the only one who helped me throughout my hard times growing up. After the accident, we all lost apart of ourselves. In the process of fixing myself, in a snap everything was taken back to square one. I thought I loved and found myself, after three years of process. But since February 8th I fell into a deep depression. I lost everything in the time it took to find me. Right now, I’m in a state of numbness. I’ve been losing people I thought I could trust and I feel like it’s all my fault. The cycle repeats. I want to find the happy Annika again. I want to love myself without fear. I just want to be happy again.
