AO3 SHIP STATS OF 2022 JUST DROPPED and dnf is in it (obviously) 🥳

dnf places 8th in this year's pairing stats, in comparison to last year's whooping 1st place (it's okay the visa has depressed us all)

it ends this year's stats with a total of 7252 fics. on average, that's roughly 20 fics a day! keep it up writers <3

despite the new change in tags, dnf is still considered rpf. that makes the pairing the #1 rpf ship of 2022!

dnf places #28th on the top 100 pairings of all history of ao3, going up a total of SEVENTEEN places in just a year.

having made its debut in 2021's ao3 stats in 45th place, with just a little over 2 years of this pairing dnf has managed to turn into the fastest growing pairing of ao3.

with the first dnf fic dating back to march 2020, it still stands proud with a total of 20920 fics at the time of the analysis.

that monstrous number means that just during the first year of the pairing, there would've been an average of 37 new fics every day.

this year's stats makes dnf the 6th most popular rpf pairing of all history, just behind the BTS and One Direction pairings*

* it's important to mention that both one direction and bts have had successfully running careers of around 10 years now. dnf has been around for a little over two. that's insane!
