Did they take the spectacular spider-man off of Disney Plus? I can't find it anymore
Hold up, let me check...
Tumblr media
Apparently. Maybe Disney got jealous cause they know that show is 1000 times better than all of their Spider-Man shows combined...
Or maybe they're editing parts of it, for their own reasons...

The fact that G5 is supposed to be a continuation of G4 is honestly really embarrassing. It doesn't even come near half of a fraction close to being on parr with it's predecessor, and it barely adds anything new or good to the world of G4. All it does is take away from G4 and make everything dull.
Yeah, you're right.
Someone once presented the idea that if G5 were a PREQUEL series instead of a SEQUEL series, then it actually would be good and worth watching.
And they are 100% right.
There were a lot of things that G4 never got to do before it ended. We never learn anything about Alicorns and where they come from, even though they're treated as a big deal throughout the show.
They do answer this question in G5, but I would rather it be done in the actual good show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Certain character backstories like Celestia and Luna, Spike, Princess Cadence, remain (mostly) a mystery.
They could've used those last two seasons to answer all of the unanswered questions, but instead they came up with that godawful School of Friendship storyline...
Tumblr media
But G5 as a prequel could've shown all of that, plus many more stuff.
But no, we're not allowed to have nice things, so instead we get ponies using TikTok and dragon babies farting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't you think that G4 deserves a better continuation then this?

I looked at spyro's first game on the ps1 and reignited and seeing how the dragons you save became very diverse with different hobbies in the reignited trilogy while mlp gen 5 dragons became less diverse
Cause that stupid G5 show couldn't afford to have more than one terrible model for the dragons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it would be one thing if it were just dragons in the background that had the same model, and the ones in the foreground had unique designs.
In G4 the dragons in the background had reused models:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But they're just there to fill up space, so it doesn't matter. But the ones in the foreground do have unique designs:
Tumblr media
BTW, when I saw the promotional images for Chapter 6 of G5 and I saw the dragons, am I the only one who thought they were all girls?
It was only until I watched the episode and they all talked that I realized that the ones without hair are the males, and the ones with hair are the females.
In G4 they make it a bit more obvious.
Tumblr media
The design is so bad that you can't even tell the boys and girls apart...

These people said it best XD

I know you're embarrassed to talk about mlp, but am I the only one who finds it WEIRD that Spike and Twilight didn't know about the Molt until Smolder had to tell Spike? Wasn't Spike learning about dragons since he made friends with Ember?
You know… I came to the (very obvious) conclusion a while back that the reason the show started to go downhill after the movie is because the majority of the writers for season 8 and 9 were completely new writers who never bothered to do research on the pre-established characters and lore. Like yeah, they made a lot of references and callbacks to previous seasons, but when it came to character writing and continuity they didn't know what they were doing.
And the writers that have been with the show for a while like Josh Harber had become burned out by season 8.
Oh, about your question. You're right, it doesn't make any sense that both Twilight and Spike wouldn't know about the Molt.
Ever since the season 6 episode Gauntlet of Fire, Twilight and Spike had started learning about dragons from Ember.
In the season 7 premiere Twilight says this:
Twilight Sparkle: Starlight will love it in the Dragon Lands. In her letters, Ember said dragons do a lot of fun things. The Feast of Fire, the Dragon Bowl, Claw-chella.
Tumblr media
They also establish in the season 7 episode Triple Threat that Spike was now the royal ambassador to the Dragon Lands:
Spike: Reason number one – I invited Dragon Lord Ember to Ponyville today. Reason two – the Dragon Lord is a dragon. Reason three – she's coming here to learn more about friendship.
Twilight Sparkle: According to Ember's letters, the dragons are trying to be friends, but competing is in their nature, and it's leading to more and more fights.
Spike: Which brings me to reason number four. The Dragon Lord wants my advice, and as the new official Equestrian friendship ambassador to the dragons, I can't let her down.
Tumblr media
In the season 7 finale Spike is able to recognize and name a dragon sport:
Spike: Good thing you brought the official Equestrian friendship ambassador to the dragons to help you navigate our customs. Like our favorite sport – gorge surfing!
Tumblr media
In the Equestria Girls special Spring Breakdown, Spike is telling the group a funny story about what it was like to attend a dragon wedding:
Spike: ...and that's the last time I ever went to a dragon wedding!
Both Twilights, Sunset Shimmer, and Rainbow Dash: [laugh]
Tumblr media
It's unknown if he was there for diplomatic reasons, or if he was invited, but he was there.
So even though they never show it on screen (for some reason) it's been implied through dialogue that both Spike and Twilight have learned a lot about dragons since season 6. Spike travels to the Dragon Lands for various reasons, and Ember sends them letters with information on dragon society and culture.
So it makes no logical sense that both Twilight and Spike didn't know about the Molt. The Molt is basic dragon puberty.
Also in that same episode, Spike was able to recognize and name the pimple that he got:
Rarity: Is there something wrong with your face?
Spike: [sighs] It's a stone scale. It isn't magical or anything like the call of the Dragon Lord. It's just... red. And itchy. [groans] And embarrassing.
Tumblr media
It's kind of unbelievable that both Spike and Twilight wouldn't have learned about the Molt until that point. Smolder had to tell Spike what the Molt was…
Smolder: [laughs] Wow! I have seen some pretty bad molts in my time, but yours takes the cake!
Spike: Molts?
Smolder: The molt? Super painful stone scales, fire burps, uncontrollable volume shifts? It's all part of growing up dragon. Congrats!
Tumblr media
Spike: No-no-no-no-no. The last time I grew up, I turned into a giant greedy monster.
Smolder: Greed-induced bigness. That's totally different. The molt is completely normal. Every dragon goes through it. Pretty soon, you'll leave and strike out on your own.
And Twilight was genuinely shocked to see Spike had sprouted wings.
Twilight Sparkle: Spike?! How did you get wings?!
Twilight Sparkle: This is amazing! I didn't know if you'd ever get wings. I'm so happy for you. Does it have something to do with this molt you were talking about?
Spike: [sighs] It's what's been going on with me. The breakout, the fire burps. The molt is when dragons get older and start to change.
Tumblr media
Also up until that point, Spike was the only dragon in the show without wings.
Except for this guy:
Tumblr media
Spike was the odd dragon out because he lacked wings. You think at some point of Twilight and Spike learning about dragons throughout season 6 to the movie that Spike's lack of wings would've come up in some way, and Ember or some other dragon would've explained to Spike and/or Twilight what the Molt was.
I can only imagine that they wanted Spike getting wings to be a surprise to the characters as well as the audience, so them knowing about it beforehand wouldn't work. But… them not knowing about it beforehand doesn't work, if you've been keeping up with the show.
In conclusion the post-movie writers didn't give a crap about previous continuity.
Tumblr media
And didn't bother to proofread their own work.

Mlp alternate timeline theory
I have a crazy theory that the show split into three different timelines.
Tumblr media
First timeline:
The main timeline, which ended at the seventh season. Some more things happened afterwards of course, but we don't know about it…
Second timeline:
Basically the g4 movie and everything that came after it take place in a slightly different timeline from the main one. So the movie, season 8 and 9, and the season 10 comics are in a different universe.
My evidence for this being many things, including but not limited to:
The throne room being redesigned with no in-universe explanation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Certain characters being completely retconned (Discord, Cranky Doodle Donkey, Garble, Ahuizotl) or written to act like their pre-season 4 selves.
The entire plot line of the season 10 comics, with the multiple Trees of Harmony and all that junk.
Many strange out of character moments, like Twilight and Celestia being 100% ok with throwing Cozy Glow in Tartarus, and then turning her into stone. Their pre-season 8 selves would never do that.
Third timeline:
Split off from the second timeline, starting at the g5 movie. Everything g5 related takes place in a different universe.
I don't have to explain the evidence for this one, it's pretty obvious.
I only created this theory so I could justify not viewing season 8, 9, 10 comics, and all of g5 as canon XD

Am I the only one wondering where the other g4 dragons where in g5? Spike was there, but no Ember, Smolder, Garble, Torch, Fume, Clump, Billy, Maar, Cinders, Barry... etc etc. Where are they? Did they die?!
They were probably in... bed, or... something.
I can believe the older ones like Torch are dead, but the younger ones...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They were sleeping... I guess. And they didn't wake up. They were on vacation. They had a dentist appointment, idk.
The real reason is because the cgi show can't afford more than one base model for the dragons. That's why they all look the same, except for Spike who looks slightly different.
G4 reused dragon models sometimes too, but these were for the older ones to fill up space in the background, or for one story, etc. These dragons don't have names, and aren't important.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The G5 dragons do have names, and are actually important. But the cgi show can't afford more than one terrible model.

They tried (slightly) in the YouTube Kids show:

I really think G5 should've been a PREQUEL to G4, instead of a sequel. It could've been about the pillars, or Celestia and Luna as kids, or the founders of Equestria, etc.
That's actually a really great idea. G5 being in the same universe as G4 was most likely a last minute decision made by Hasbro in order to get G4 fans to care about G5, which would explain a few things.
But if they really wanted to do that, why not make it a prequel that doesn't completely destroy the established world, and make everything blander by having it take place in a modern society with smartphones and social media? Lol
The prequel G5 could've shown any number of things:
The founders of Equestria bringing the three pony kinds together and creating Equestria.
Tumblr media
The Pillars of Equestria, who were brought together by Stygian to defeat the Sirens. It could've focused on their adventures.
Tumblr media
Celestia and Luna as kids. It could've shown their backstory and how they became separated from the other alicorns. Starswirl finds them and takes them in, training them to be the rulers of Equestria.
Tumblr media
Luna's descent into Nightmare Moon over the course of the show.
Tumblr media
The backstory behind Alicorns and where they came from. BTW, they gave away where Alicorns come from in a THROWAWAY LINE in G5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They could've adapted some of the Fiendship is Magic issues that showed how certain villains came to be (Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra). Some other villain backstories too, how they rose to power, and their defeats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Princess Cadence and Spike's origins. Their parents, how they became separated from them, and them being found and brought to Equestria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could go on, honestly. But you get the point.
Hasbro doesn't actually own all of the rights to G4, they share it with Discovery Family. So whenever G5 shows or talks about something from G4, Hasbro has to pay royalties to Discovery Family…
So instead of having the prequel G5 be exclusively on a streaming service, or YouTube Kids, they could've just… made the show on Discovery Family, the same as G4. That way they don't have to pay extra money for no reason…
Whatever 😅 I'll stop b**ching

Years after FIM has ended, and it just occurred to me that Applejack is the only one out of the main cast that hadn't achieved anything significant! Weird.
Hey... that's right. Even Spike achieved more than her. Babs Seed achieved more than her. SNIPS AND SNAILS achieved more than her 🤣
Twilight Sparkle: Becomes ruler of Equestria
Spike: Becomes royal advisor/ambassador
Tumblr media
Rainbow Dash: Becomes a Wonderbolt
Tumblr media
Rarity: Opens another boutique in Manehattan
Tumblr media
Fluttershy: Creates her animal sanctuary
Tumblr media
Pinkie Pie: Helps Cheese Sandwich run his factory
Tumblr media
Even some of the supporting characters:
Big Mac: Marries Sugerbell
Tumblr media
CMC: Earned their cutie marks and created their camp
Tumblr media
Babs Seed: Earned her cutie mark and becomes a hair stylist
Tumblr media
Lyra and Bon Bon: They get married
Derby: Becomes a chef
Tumblr media
Snips and Snails: Snails becomes an athlete and Snips is his manager
Tumblr media
I guess Applejack... still runs her farm. Cool 😂
I guess she got together with Rainbow Dash in the end also. That too.
