okay shit shit SHIT I SAW SOMETHING ON TIKTOK AND IT MADE ME THINK—

warning: reader thinks they're at fault for the break up but they're really not its just :-;;v not working anymore especially if the other party's too reliant on the other one :-;;

you're on the verge of crying just by thinking of what he'll become after you drop your bomb but you held back. you know it's entirely your fault why it has come to this but there's nothing you can do anymore, and this is for the best. you've hurt him so much in so many times, took him for granted just cause you know he'll still love you no matter what. you realized Jaehyun's love for you is destroying him and you had to stop it. you had to.

"I'm sorry, but I'm breaking up with you. please refrain from calling me from now on. bye."

you barely keep yourself from crying in front of him but at least he didn't see the tear that has dropped from your eyes. you quickly turn your back on him just so you won't see his expression, but failed miserably as you imagine it. every smile, every laugh that you shared together, the frowns, emotions and vulnerability you've seen on him is vividly coming back to you now.

you hear him sniffle and that's when you felt so weak. you didn't need to hear his sobs that's getting louder by the second so you quickly walk away.

I need to do this, I am so so sorry but I had to. you need to let me go. it's for your sake. you need to love yourself as much as you love me. I love you, jaehyun. I really do. but this is the most I can do in order to protect you from hurting yourself furthermore. it wouldn't be easy I know, but you need to find yourself. and I hope the very best for you.

you hope you can say this to him but you also know that there's no point in that, he'll just accept you either way. jaehyun got to the point where he doesn't need anyone else but you. his love for you overflows his love for himself, in fact he's drowning in it without him realizing. and if god asks you to choose if you'll do it again, you will not hesitate to say yes.

you look back at him for the last time and you saw him there, crying, as he knows he can't do anything to make you come back. it's the end. as much as he wants to do something, he knows you. he knows you too well. whenever you said something you always mean it. so when Jaehyun felt you hugging him, he froze.

you couldn't resist it. as soon as you look back, the urge to run towards him, hug him, kiss him until he isn't crying anymore is strong. impulsively you feed into your desires for the last time, and so this happens.

you put your hands on both of his cheeks, looking at him straight in his eyes.

"i love you. i know you're wondering if there's someone else but there's no one so don't beat yourself into it, okay? you need to find yourself, you need to love yourself. please promise me you'll do it." you said, pleading.

It was an understatement to say the least that jaehyun is confused about what was happening but he nodded anyway. he trusts so but without a doubt, he will spend most of his time moping and thinking and regretting after all of this is done.

five blissful seconds of kiss. the both of you felt it. it was short but it was long enough to be remembered for a lifetime. you look at him in the eyes and whispered before you took off.
