okay so the wilds got canceled for low viewership and negative responses, first kill got canceled for not holding viewership long enough and negative responses, paper girls again got canceled for low viewership, and warrior nun *checks notes* oh warrior nun had overwhelmingly positive responses but got canceled for not holding viewership long enough… weirdly tho these “low viewership” numbers are incredibly similar to many shows that did get renewed and did get largely promoted-namely heartstopper, young royals, elite— so i cant help but wonder if maybe maybe low viewership isnt the problem at all. and that maybe maybe the problem is the other thing that is shared by all of these shows, which is their main love story being wlw and their primary audience being sapphics. and that maybe maybe these shows were never meant to be renewed, as the disparity in promotional investment is obvious, because of that very reason. maybe that has something to do with it. fuck netflix and fuck streaming.

Let’s talk about “the glance”! Yeah, the look between Ava and her coworker and why Bea is an oblivious bean!
Tumblr media
Beatrice probably thinks Ava and Hans looking at each other might be romantic or something because in her mind Ava is probably straight, but she couldn’t be more wrong! Hans has definitely seen how Avatrice interact with each other and probably suspects that these two have a crush on each other!
BTW, “the boss wants a word”! I wonder how many times has Bea and Ava had those private ‘boss-employee’ chats? Certainly more times than necessary and more times than Bea has needed to talk to Hans, and you can’t convince me otherwise! So the Ava-Hans moment is a “The boss has the hots for you Ava!“-glance!
But let’s speculate even further. It’s very likely that Ava, in several ocassions, especially if she’s had a drink or two, wasn’t able to shut up about how perfect Bea is. The guy must have known by now that Ava has it bad for Bea! Remember the thirsty look in Ava’s face when she was dancing with Bea later on? (I’m sure you don’t need me to refresh your memory, but I need an excuse to include this pic)
Tumblr media
Yes that look! This can not be the first time Ava looked at Bea that way. If Hans hasn’t noticed before then he’s blind! So, again, the Ava-Hans moment might as well also be a "Ava I see you have the hots for the boss!”-glance!

Guys, Please Watch Warrior Nun On Netflix
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This show is honestly the kind you can't help but binge in one sitting which i rarely ever do...
Pls pls pls watch warrior nun. It's so incredibly written and has the most talented cast members along with the best wlw relationship I've ever seen on screen.
We don't know if Netflix are going to renew it for a S3 or not but it would really help if you could get as many people watching it as possible so that it doesn't get cancelled.
Also just to add, season 2 has Netflix’s highest audience scores ever which is pretty incredible considering Netflix didn't spend a penny on promotion!
The warrior nun fandom have been trying so hard to create visibility for the show by sharing it online but there's only so much we can do. We would really appreciate it if you could share it with your friends and family :)

Very interesting analysis about Rue and Lexi scenes
Credits to GLORIOUS-99 on reddit :)
Intro:
One thing that stood out to me in Euphoria, is how much foreshadowing there was scattered all throughout, obvious, and more subtle.
The writer's clearly had a very good idea where they were going with each character and plot. This generates a sense of built -up and nice momentum, so, whenever a plot twist is coming up, it really hits you hard, but you never feel like you have been lead on (at least I did not). I like that.
The reason I mention this, is that I believe that the writers already have a really good idea about where they are heading with this whole thing plot wise in the following seasons, which usually results in a strong coming conflict.
There is a lot of camera movement in this show and whoever shot this thing REALLY knows their stuff. Every angle and every damn camera move were exactly co-related to the emotional stance of a character in the scene. Every emotion was enhanced by the direction (and music), so that I actually did not really notice it at all - which is a good thing, as I was too immersed in the material because of this effect. Every shot was filmed a specific way for a reason. Maybe the general viewer wouldn’t notice this, or agree with me, but I do.
Rue and Lexi Analysis:
The reason I mention ALL OF THIS as well, is, that the way the whole show builds their characters up follows a certain scheme. All of Rue's comrades (and I use this word instead of friends intentionally) are introduced through flashbacks - except for Lexi. And I found this to be extremely odd.
This girl is supposed to be Rue's former best friend, they still hang out, kinda, and yet we are given nothing at all. I remember being halfway through episode four, and being really thrown-off by the lack of coverage for Lexi.
So scenes tend to stand out to me a different way. And there were a lot scenes with Lexi in it that really stood out - the first one being the shot of Rue coming through the door, and asking Lexi for a favour (the fake test). Imo, it was a curious decision on the directors part to shoot this scene with Rue's back to the viewer. She whispers into Lexi's ear, instead of asking her from a distance, or going upstairs. And she kinda leans into Lexi - I felt there was a certain sexual undertone to it. Not that there was anything sexual about this don't get me wrong, but the picture they make in that doorway, without any of the context, could easily be read as such. We see Lexi's face, and she looks clearly happy here, and when Rue leans in, it almost looks like she is about to kiss Lexi.
Their argument in the toilet, when Rue flushes the drugs, is, like wise, charged with tension. I found the "You're so fucking stupid." another really curious choice on the writers part. There was, obviously a fallout between these two, but there is no light shed on it at all. Again, very odd.
But not as much as Rue thinking of Lexi first, before taking Mouse's drugs from the knife. This is, imo, a REALLY big one. Rue apologizes for being a shitty person, and treating Lexi like crap, BEFORE mentioning her mother and Gia.
Throughout the show, Lexi is shown looking at Rue, which, on itself, wouldn't mean anything, were it not usually paired with other guys/girls staring at their current love interest in the same shot. A director spends A LOT of time putting these scenes together, and since, like I said, the Euphoria writers really seem to know where this whole thing is going, you can bet on them fine-tuning everything. Just look at how much attention is put at a single shot of Nate getting out from the shower and walking into the rain with an umbrella (I have a huge analysis on this single scene as well!).
But what intrigued me the most, and truly send my brain in full on analysis mode was this brief, supposedly non-significant moment.
Lexi is THE ONLY CHARACTER beside Rue to break the 4th wall. It was super brief, but truly surprised the heck out of me. It was just such a specific decision on the writers part, all the more BECAUSE it was used for nothing more but a short 'ew' on Lexi's part. She could have simply said this in front of the girls, but the director/writer made her say it to US, the viewers - but for what reason? This tiny moment here, coupled with the fact that Lexi did not have her own episode so far, and coupled with all the above, if the sole reason I believe that Lexi is - not only going to be Rue's love interest the following seasons - but also narrate a good deal of season 2, instead of Rue.

Distractions
Lexi swept another curl behind her ear only for it to send a wave of brown curls rushing down. She sighed angrily snapping her pen shut and tossing all her hair to the other side. “You’re getting all Rita Hayworth in Gilda over there” Rue said across from her. She was surrounded by textbooks and coffee stained handouts with almost no answers written on to them. The constant scent of lexis perfume being thrown her way brought her out of her already distracted daze and into a new one. “Sorry I just- do you have a scruchie?” She asked almost instantly regretting it once she met the others girls eyes. Rue only blinked letting the sight of her very own brown wild curls answer for her. Rue stood and pushed her hand into the coffee mug that held her collection of chewed pencils before pulling out a bright blue scrunchie. She aimed at lexis head and released it, “Amazing aim!” she congratulated herself pretending to dust off her shoulders. Lexi eyed the hair tie too distracted to laugh at the gesture
Don’t
She warned herself shoving her hair into a tight ponytail so she could focus on something else. As if the pulling of her temples could make her ignore the fact that this was definitely a souvenir Jules had left in her bedroom. “We should probably move on to Bi” she spoke quickly closing her textbook, rue snickered. She now laid across the floor staring up at the ceiling drawing god knows what into the air. “What? What did I say?” Lexi questioned her feelings of inadequacy quickly replaced with that of embarrassment. “Nothing,” rue snickered propping herself up on her elbows “you just said Bi instead of bio that was like, fucking hilarious I don’t know” she muttered pulling out the biology homework. The tightness in lexis chest faded and she decided she needed to laugh, not because rue was funny but because she needed to. They busied themselves with flash cards and jokes about what kinks rue believes certain animals should be associated with. In a blur of coffee and cigarette smoke she really hadn’t gotten any work done.
“Rue Okay !” Lexi huffed trying to keep her paper away from another splash of coffee as rue made bird wing movements. She turned to place them safely in her book bag knocking for heads with a seemingly un-phased rue who had disregarded personal space ten cups of coffee ago. “And a snake would totally be BDSM” she smiled raising her eyebrows twice. Lexi sighed unable to decide whether the stupid conclusion made her angry enough to scream or to laugh.
“Anything else Bennett I have to be home by like nine”
“Yes! What the fuck should a bear do because like there’s bear hugging and shit like that,” she pulled Lexi in for a hug and erupted into a fit of giggles. They fell to the side “but I didn’t wanna say some basic shit like 69 you know?” She said turning to face Lexi who had decided to give in to the shenanigans. “I mean it’s a bear rue. How about it just means a really big person with a small person I’m sure that’s a kink” Lexi tried to imagine someone four times her size. Rue rolled over hovering as she searched lexis eyes for another spark of inspiration. Her curls brushed against her cheeks she instinctively reached up and moved them to the side letting her fingers linger. “You know I think that’s it. That’s fucking perfect you’re a genius” rue finally spoke in a whisper lowering her face. She was always intense, too intense to notice when she had quite literally put herself and others in a awkward position.
“Rue”
“What would they even call something like that ? “
“BBW, rue” Lexi snapped again even taking the girls face into her hands so she would look at her.
“Oh yeah..completely f-“
“RUE”
She fell off of her cloud for a moment all the bright lights fading until she was back in her room again. “Yeah” she responded hesitantly, she didn’t want to be left alone with herself just yet, not without something funny or pointless to keep her distracted all night. It was definitely nearing nine now, she was ready to go.
“Stop talking” Lexi whispered sending a sharp pulse through both of their hearts for very different reasons. “No , yeah sorry y-“
“Stop. Talking” Lexi said once more gripping rues face tighter as she pulled it down. She allowed their lips to touch, there was a brief moment of bliss even though her lips were awkwardly pressed against her teeth and this was a very bad kiss. Then of course , a wave of sheer terror took over that ended with rue shoved on her back and Lexi inching away. “Hey Rue you didn’t tell me if Lexi was staying for dinner” Leslie’s muffled voice broke the silence.
They stared at one another waiting for an answer
Just a random blurb I thought of. I had to write it even though it’s not that great I just needed to do it. Message if you have any ideas !

Hidden detail about Rue’s Halloween costume that could most likely suggest that Lexi is in love with Rue!
In the Halloween episode, Doniella Davy (Euphoria’s makeup artist) confirmed that Rue is dressed up as Marlene Dietrich from the 1930′s film “Morocco”.
I wanted to do some research to find out why Sam Levinson might have wanted Rue to dress up as Marlene Dietrich as we already know that the costume of each character reflects the character’s actual life. For example, Cassie was dressed up as Alabama Worley, a prostitute in the movie “True Romance” who just wants to fall in love, symbolising how Cassie is just searching for someone to truly love her but ultimately, every guy just wants her for sex.
So I wanted to find out the context behind the choice for Rue’s Marlene Dietrich costume from the film “Morocco”. The film is about a cabaret singer (who is Marlene Dietrich) and a Legionnaire who fall in love during the Rif War. Although the Legionnaire is a womaniser, he’s still in love with the cabaret singer. However, at the same time, a rich man is also deeply in love with the cabaret singer but the problem is that the cabaret singer is only in love with the Legionnaire, so the rich man’s love becomes one sided, creating this whole love triangle between Marlene Dietrich’s character, the Legionnaire and the rich man.
As we know already, the cabaret singer (Marlene Dietrich) is Rue and i think the Legionnaire is Jules cos the legionnaire is a womaniser, he has affairs/relationships with other women while still loving the cabaret singer just as Jules hooked up with Anna but still said she loves Rue.
Now the reason why i said Rue’s costume could suggest that Lexi is in love with Rue is bcos i believe that the rich man (with the one sided love towards Marlene Dietrich’s character) is Lexi. In the film, not only is the man rich, but he is also a wealthy PAINTER. And who was dressed up as a painter in the Halloween episode? LEXI HOWARD!!!
Also in the film, the rich man would do anything to make Marlene Dietrich’s character happy - at the end of the film, he helped the cabaret singer reunite with the legionnaire (her lover) who went to war and never returned, just how lexi would do anything to see Rue happy, even if it means letting Jules take her place as Rue’s best-friend😭
