This sounds really important but i need this explained like im 5
Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist).
As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.
(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)

The Firebird Chronicles || Threshold of Annihilation.
“Just in time as a set of hands grasped the ledge, a cloaked head appearing next. Graydon moved, crouching in front of the girl. Her mouth dropped open, and her eyes widened in surprise. She would have shot back the way she'd come if Graydon hadn't been quicker. With one fast movement, he plucked her off the building's side. ‘Damn it, she said you were good.’ Elena dangled in his grip, a guilty expression warring with disgruntlement as the sound of pursuit grew below.”—T.A. The Firebird Chronicles || Age of Deception.
“Kira ran through a field, trees all around, the dark pressing in, cloying in what it concealed. A small hand was clasped in hers as her lungs burned with the need for air. Kira looked back, looking over the boy's head at the tree line behind them. The terrible bay of an animal hunting them floated out of the forest.” —T.A. White.
