Season 1, Episode 13: Route 666
Dean is contacted by an ex-flame who asks him for help when black men in her hometown are being murdered by a driver-less racist truck. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Paul Shapiro
Writers: Eric Kripke, Eugenie Ross-Leming, Brad Buckner
Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Okay, Cassie seems awesome, I like her
Maybe the deaths involve people involved with the paper??
There are some really sensitive discussions of racism in this episode
If Sam’s plan had gone wrong, and Dean and the car were driven off the road, Dean never would have forgiven him for destroying baby
This was a good episode, and I love this side character of Cassie, I wish we had seen more of her (I don’t think she ever comes back?)
I didn’t have much to say for this episode hahah

Season 1, Episode 10: Asylum
While investigating a haunting in an abandoned asylum and rescuing two teenagers who ventured in, Sam and Dean become trapped with the spirits of those who had died in a riot decades ago, one of which was a doctor who causes extreme rage in his victims. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Guy Norman Bee
Writers: Eric Kripke, Richard Hatem
Set In: Roosevelt Asylum, Rockford Illinois
I am super excited for this episode
Okay, since I am a nerd, here’s some information about what is called “Roosevelt Asylum” in Supernatural (maybe I’m going a bit too far, I haven’t even gotten past the title card yet)
Okay it seems like the episode was actually filmed in Riverview Hospital in BC which has been used in many other movies and tv shows such as Deadpool 2.
Riverview seems to have beautiful grounds, and was operational as a hospital since the beginning of the 20th century until as recently as 2010.
I can’t find any evidence for any actual asylum existing in Rockford Illinois or even a sanatorium.
When you look up Roosevelt Asylum, the result tends to be Blackwell’s Asylum on Roosevelt Island in New York.
It seems like Supernatural confused the internet
Okay- starting the episode now!
 They’re different things
“Let me know if you see any dead people, Haley Joel.” -Dean
I did not get that joke the first time around hahah
You know, this is some good Dean dialogue
Also a really good ghost episode
So many Jack Nicholson references
This was a phenomenal episode

Season 2, Episode 5: Simon Said
GSam and Dean meet Andy Gallagher, a slacker with psychic powers of persuasion. Once the brothers learn that Andy's family was visited by the Demon, Sam wonders if he could be one of the special children. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Tim Iacofano
Writers: Eric Kripke, Ben Edlund, Sera Gamble
Set in: Guthrie, Oklahoma/ Nebraska
Holy shit, this episode is dark: starting with a vision of a murder-suicide
Wow I had forgotten that Sam and Dean used to go to the Roadhouse with every little problem, they’re literally there all the tiem.
“Hey Ash, we need your help” / “Well, then I guess I need pants”
I had also forgotten about the budding romance between Jo and Dean
“You’re afraid of my mother?” / Dean nods, “I think so” Damn right, Ellen Harvelle is appropriately scary
“Hey, can I have it?” (referring to the Impala) / “Sure man” Dean gets out of the car, and gives it to him, thus an immediate realization that something is super super wrong
“He full on Obi-waned me! It’s mind control man!”
I love how most of these psychics know how to use their powers so much more than Sam does
Is this the episode that is, “Too soon?” / “yeah, Dean, three seconds is too soon.”
“You know, one day I’d like to just sit down and eat something that I don’t need to microwave.” Aww I can’t wait for the bunker where Dean’ll actually be able to do that.
The evil guy in this episode looks vaguely like Elijah Wood, to the point where I thought for a while about whether or not he was actually Elijah Wood.
Long lost twins??????
We’re getting deep psychological questions in these early season two episodes: “bottom line, if they’re pushed enough, everyone’s capable of murder.”

Season 2, Episode 4: Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things
Dean and Sam investigate the death of a young college student who died in a car accident, but whose grave is now surrounded by a circle of dead plants. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Kim Manners
Writers: Eric Kripke, Raelle Tucker, Sera Gamble
Set in: Illinois
A girl dies from a car crash after her ex boyfriend wouldn’t leave her alone.
Sam and Dean travel to visit Mary’s grave in Illinois, which is odd because they lived in Lawrence, Kansas. She must have had family there.
Sam is being a therapist for Dean, with little results. He’s trying to convince him that Dean needs to deal with his trauma over their mother’s death which happens exactly zero times in the entire show.
Dean is horrendous at comforting people.
This is really a Dean therapy episode, you gotta love it
“Neil! It’s your grief counselors! We’ve come to--hug.” -Dean Winchester, at his finest
Zombie on a murderous rampage after her boyfriend was the indirect cause of her death, leading to her killing the boyfriend, and her college roommate who slept with her boyfriend whilst getting together with her best friend. -that’s it, that’s the episode
“Damn that dead chick can run”
YES SELF AWARE DEAN
“But Dad’s dead because of me.” Yes and it doesn’t matter, you literally do the same thing for nearly every person you’ve ever met. “I was dead, and I should have stayed dead.” -ooooohh that’s why Dean said, “Dead things should stay dead” earlier in the episode.
I was joking earlier, but this really is a Dean therapy episode

Season 2, Episode 3: Bloodlust
Sam and Dean encounter a vampire hunter whose obsession may get them all killed. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Robert Singer
Writers: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker
Set in: Red Lodge, Montana
Starting an episode with Back in Black? I think it's gonna be a good episode.
He fixed Baby!!
"So much effed up crap happens in Flordia"
Does anyone remember when Supernatural fans were always responding to posts with a gif from the show? This has gotta be one that happened
That man has an outrageous mustache
Vampires are being killed???
Who is this guy? I recognize him but can't put a name to his face...
I have no idea why I remember this episode so vividly
Oh wait....that would be why. Dean didn't need to do that, but he did: Vampire kill of the week
Dean deserves to have friends.
I just looked it up- this guy is Gordon Walker
Ellen cameo. It seems like they wanted her to be kinda like Bobby as a hunter information relayer.
Uh oh. I don't like the things Gordon is telling Dean
We're not like other vampires, we're vegetarians
I watched the first ten minutes of this again before I realized that I was in the middle of the episode; challenges of rewatching a show on Netflix
CW: torture
"You're not like your brother- you're a killer- like me."
"You look like you just went 12 rounds with a block of cement Dean, no" - Dean had just asked Sam to punch him because he realized that not all monsters are bad
Moral questions about not killing all monsters

Season 2, Episode 2: Everybody Loves a Clown
After the events at the hospital, the brothers have no idea where the demon that killed their mother is hiding. While biding their time trying to come up with an idea, they investigate murders committed by a killer clown. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Philip Sgriccia
Writers: Eric Kripke, John Shiban, Sera Gamble
Set in:  Medford, Wisconsin
The roadhouse!!!!
ELLEN AND ASH AND JO, GREAT REUCCURING CHARACTERS TO THE RESCUE
I hate clowns just as much as Sam Winchester, so I gotta say, I didn't love this episode.
I'm not sure what kind of creature this is
"I don't care how you deal with this, but you HAVE to deal with it, man" -Sam to Dean about John's death.
They have to be invited in
This creature is a rakshaka
"Before we go stabbing things into Cooper, we're gonna want to make damn sure it's him." -Sam / "You're such a stickler for details, Sammy." -Dean
This monster is pretty creepy
This entire episode is pretty creepy. I hate fun houses and clowns.
That was really smooth, Sam. I don't love this love story developing between Dean and Jo. I know how it turns out but still
Ash went to MIT and was expelled for fighting?
Dean needs better ways to deal with his emotions

Season 2, Episode 1: In My Time of Dying
In the aftermath of the car crash, the surviving Winchesters go to the hospital, where one is stalked by a Reaper while another must consider sacrificing himself to save the others. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Kim Manners
Writers: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker
Set in:
This truck driving demon playing Bad Moon Rising after hitting the Impala is hilarious for no reason whatsoever
This is a good episode, I forgot about it
Baby is an allegory for Dean in this episode, “If there’s one working part, that’s enough. We’re not just gonna give up on it.”
One of the top episodes of the early seasons
I think this is a weird looking reaper? Maybe? Or maybe it’s some sort of primarily hospital dwelling spirit?
See Tessa section
Tessa!
You know, I should have remembered this hahaha
Dr. Kripke hahaha
THE OUIJA BOARD
Did they know that John left??
You know, I love Tessa

they didn’t even hug after all of that?

Season 1, Episode 22: Devil’s Trap
Sam and Dean seek help from Bobby Singer, an old family friend in their mission to save their father from Meg. The brothers set a trap for Meg. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Kim Manners
Writers: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker
Set in: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
We’re just gonna finish off this season now. It’s been half a year.
WHAT DID I JUST SAY FIVE SECONDS AGO??? BOBBY FREAKING SINGER
“John just has that effect on people.” I love this man
The demons are multiplying
“A storm’s coming, and you boys, your daddy, you are smack in the middle of it.” it won’t be the last time
This is one of the first uses of a demon trap, I think
Does Bobby have his panic room yet?
Some more demon lore
they’re just now learning about possession?
exorcism too
“You think you guys invented lying to the cops? I’ll figure something out.”
“You guys just find your dad, but when you do, bring him round here alright, I won’t even try to shoot him this time.” Bobby is such a great character
Sam is using the top of the car as a desk and that’s hilarious to me
Why do they keep using each others names? It’s like every other sentence, there's no one else in the conversation
“I’ve got a corgi upstairs and he pees when he’s nervous!”
Dena wanted to be a fireman, that’s adorable
Are demons deterred by salt?
Cause I thought that was just ghosts
Also I was always under the impression that kind of like Batman, they were really cautious about humans under demonic possession, but I guess that hasn’t started yet
there it is
“I’m proud of you.” That’s literally all Dean has ever wanted to hear from John
And yet, this is absolutely heartbreaking. “He wouldn’t be proud of me, he’d tear me a new one.”
“Make the gun float to you, psychic boy.”
Is this the first time they said the words, “meat suit”?
Have they not found the demon blade yet?
Jump scare at the end of this episode, holy crap.

Season 1, Episode 21: Salvation
Meg turns to killing John's friends in order to get the Colt. Sam and Dean stakeout the Demon's next target; a family with a six month old baby showing signs of special abilities. John heads off alone to confront Meg. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Robert Singer
Writers: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker
Set in: Blue Earth, Minnesota/Salvation, Iowa
Meg’s back!! I love her hair.
I support women’s wrongs, including Meg Masters and the fact that she just stabbed a priest
Sam’s having visions
Sam this is a little creepy
Oh that’s not disturbing at all
The parallelism of all these women wearing long white nightdresses when they’re burned on the ceiling is not lost on me
I don’t see the Yellow Eyed Demon in this episode, even though his events are obviously happening
I had forgotten that a big thing is that all the children are 6 months old and they all have psychic abilities
I can’t wait until Bobby comes in

Season 1, Episode 20: Dead Man’s Blood
After Daniel Elkins, a vampire hunter and John's mentor, is murdered, Sam and Dean are surprised when John himself shows up to solve the case. John discovers the vampires have taken an antique gun, which has the power to kill all supernatural beings. The Winchester family sets out to retrieve the gun from the vampires so they can use it to kill the demon that took Sam and Dean's mother. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Tony Wharmby
Writers: Eric Kripke, Cathryn Humphris, John Shiban
Set in: Manning, Colorado
Wait is this the Roadhouse?? I don’t think we’re there yet, but it would be great if we were.
Personally, as a hunter, I don’t think I would live in a cabin alone in the woods. But that’s just me
The colt???
“JW. You think? John Winchester?” well obviously
Wow I hate this man
“Wait so you came all the way out here for this Elkins guy?” The quiet part here is, ‘and yet you abandoned us?’
“Vampires? I thought there was no such thing?” I forgot about that part of the spn lore.
The vibe of the show is off with John, he’s picking on them and he just insulted Baby.
This episode is very early 2000s. Case in point: Luther
wtf was John doing in the woods??
“Somewhere along the line, I stopped being your father and became your drill sergeant.” that is not an apology John
Sam this is not a laughing matter. Your father spent your college fund on ammo and you’re laughing
I will admit that I didn’t pay enough attention to this episode because I’ve been messing around with the structure of the blog, but honestly this one was mediocre and unless you specifically want to watch episodes with John Winchester (why would you want to do that?), I would recommend skipping

Season 1, Episode 19: Provenance
When two sets of owners of the same painting are brutally murdered, Sam and Dean investigate with the help of an auction house owner's daughter, all while Dean shamelessly tries to pair her with his little brother. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Philip Sgriccia
Writers: Eric Kripke, David Ehrman, Sera Gamble
Set In: somehow missed this location but the supernatural wiki says New Paltz and Beacon, New York
I remember parts of this episode vividly. But I have no idea what happens in it?
haunted painting? haunted frame? who can say?
“OH MY GOD THAT PAINTING...looks so good” and sam is pretending to be an art collector
“Sam, marry that girl”
This painting is creepy as fuck
Aww, Sam is always so much better at emotions than Dean
YES! CLASSIC QUOTE!
Ghost child
evil mastermind ghost child
Sarah’s cool, I wish she’d stayed, but thus is the life of a woman in Supernatural
They’re really cute together, I really wish she’d stayed

Season 1, Episode 18: Something Wicked This Way Comes
Dean gets a second chance to right a wrong from his past when the brothers get a mysterious tip from their father about a case they'd worked years ago, but left unfinished after Sam was nearly killed by the creature. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Whitney Ransick
Writers: Eric Kripke, Daniel Knauf, Sera Gamble
Set in: Fitchburg, Wisconsin
Gotta say, Dean’s right on this one: “Because I’m the oldest which mean’s I’m always right.”
I feel like if I were them, I would contact the actual CDC cause this involves children who are sick??
This is the creature that got Sam, isn’t it
This first season is so well written- not too horror-y, plenty of twists
This guy is totally draining the life of the kids.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, the dynamic of their characters shifts throughout the seasons: Sam’s absolute refusal to put any kids or people in danger shifts onto Dean after hell and Ben, and so does his reluctance to hunt and such. Dean’s guilt NEVER goes away though.
John Winchester is an asshole
Protective Dean Winchester!

Season 1, Episode 17: Hell House
wUWhen a case of a seemingly average haunting begins to go haywire, Sam and Dean come to find that two bumbling, wanna-be paranormal investigators, Harry and Ed, are already on the case. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Chris Long
Writers: Eric Kripke, Trey Callaway, Sera Gamble
Set In: Richardson, Texas
Tumblr media
Good sibling moments.
CW: Referenced murder, hanging
Just a classic haunted house!
Wait- the Ghost Facers! I had no idea they were this early. If you want a funny episode, I’ll always recommend a ghost facers episode.
“Just a couple humans.”
Dean is always so suspicious of ghost hunters, and mediums and psychic stuff, it’s so funny
Wait- I missed the puns in their names last time through: Ed Zedmore and Harry Spengler.
“Sweet lord-” “Of the rings”
Really good episode
I love that they’re using the ghost facers as bait for the cops
This is fun because I have the memory of a goldfish and I’m always surprised by the plot twists despite having seen this show
ghost plot twist!
“How the hell are we supposed to kill an idea?”
“WWBD. What would Buffy Do?” / ”I know man, but she’s stronger than me.”
Great side characters, Dean being a goofball, brotherly prank war, the first appearance of the ghost facers, Sam and Dean messing with ghost hunters, honestly what more could you ask for?
“Kinda makes you wonder, of all the things we’ve hunted, how many existed just because people believed in them?”

Season 1, Episode 16: Shadow
While looking into a mysterious murder in Illinois, Sam and Dean come across Meg, an old 'friend' of Sam's, who may be far worse than they ever thought possible and who plans to use the brothers as bait to trap their father, John. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Kim Manners
Writers: Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker
WAIT- Jeffery Dean Morgan is in this episode.
“I’m just saying, these outfits cost hard earned money.” “Who’s?” “Our’s- you think credit card fraud is easy?”
Heart was missing- werewolf??
On the same wavelength as Dean, but Sam disproved the theory it
That’s one crafty creature with the blood splatter art (it would be perfect in a hospital)
MEG!
“Let me guess, you’re lurking outside that poor girl’s apartment.”
Sam this is so creepy
Obviously Meg summoned the super old demonic deity right?
This episode is good, but I kinda just enjoy every episode with reoccurring characters
That’s unfair to Sam, Dean. Dean’s lonely but it’s so unfair
When it comes down to it, that’s all he’s ever wanted, to have a family who are close, and who don’t leave him. AND HE DIDN’T FUCKING GET THAT. IT MAKES ME SO PISSED (sorry that was a rant and isn’t even that pertinent to this episode.)
That’s so sad. Dean doesn’t think that John would save them if he knew they were in trouble.
“Go to hell.” “Baby I’m already there”
That was badass, Sam
And there’s the asshole himself, in the flesh
If you didn’t want them hurt, maybe you shouldn’t have raised them to hunt?
Sorry guys, I have zero respect for john winchester

Season 1, Episode 15: The Benders
After following a history of disappearances in Hibbing, Minnesota, Sam finds himself locked in a cage and Dean must team up with a by the book sheriff to find him......before the hunt begins. (Directly from IMDB)
Director: Peter Ellis
Writers: Eric Kripke, John Shiban, Sera Gamble
Car deaths? Is the car being used as a method of kidnapping?
A cat just scared the shit out of Sam
Dean’s going by Greg  as Sam’s cousin.
The police officer looked Sam up and revealed that Dean was dead and wanted for murder
Okay. Sam’s in a cage??
People...Shifters maybe?
uh oh. this man is going to get himself killed
also doesn’t he know that only dean’s allowed to call sam sammy???
So i’ve been writing this on desktop and I’m curious why the hell the second bullet points don’t show up? like why would it even be an option if they don’t show up on desktop or on mobile?
Dean’s going to get arrested for impersonating an officer
That was hilarious. “You’re a civilian and a felon. I think.”
Kathleen is pretty funny
Wait they had a conversation with that guy. Who was he??
Maybe these guys are vamps? Or just really messed up people?
The Most Dangerous Game inspired. This family is super messed up.
Is this just taken directly from The Most Dangerous Game short story??
One of my favorite tropes is when they meet regular people that they don’t know, they look so strange. it’s a great gag
Honestly just watch this episode  for yourself, it’s super fucked up.
