theres just something so personal about hunter and crosshair being about to murder each other but the second theres real danger hunter looks genuinely afraid and pushes crosshair out of the way of danger and then as they fall crosshair instinctively grabs his brother and then hunter watches to make sure crosshair gets up before running away and then crosshair offers to lead the creature away from his family and then hunter says “not alone” and the when hunter falls the way crosshair screams his name and crosshair shooting the snow then “get up here” then hELPING HUNTER UP BEFORE THEY RUN

I think the one thing I wasn't prepared for when Crosshair finally rejoined the batch is realising how soft of a character he really is.

He cares. He really does. He likes Omega, he's already joking around with Echo. He paid his respects to Mayday and the other clones by picking up their helmets from the floor.

Oh, and also the fact that all the interactions between the batch, namely Hunter and Crosshair, has finally sold me on the idea that Crosshair is probably the youngest brother in the batch. He's the annoying little shit in the family and he knows it.

I don’t get why some people were expecting Wrecker and Hunter to immediately accept Crosshair. The only person on the team who were 100% down with rescuing Crosshair was Tech and Omega. Well Tech’s gone and Omega is with Crosshair. They probably grew even more bitter toward Crosshair cause the reason Omega was caught and Tech died was because they convinced them to rescue Crosshair. I would be pissed as well. They don’t know what crosshair has been through. The last time they saw him was on Kamino where he chose the empire over them. That’s gotta sting

Thoughts on Crosshair's Hand Tremor

Crosshair’s missed shots seem to occur often during the initial rounds of a fight, almost like his hand is getting locked up and stiff and needs time to warm up. He’s missed his first shot almost every time they’ve been in a firefight now. There’s most likely nerve damage going on and potentially psychological distress as underlying causes, but it will be interesting to see how it continues to impact him and how Hunter and Wrecker react to it.

And his face here is so gut wrenching. I saw someone point out that the first time it happened he was just furious at his hand for not cooperating. In this moment however, he’s a bit dazed and terrified that it keeps happening, and he doesn’t seem to have much control over it. It is an absolutely terrifying thing when your body starts acting up in ways it hadn’t previously, or stops behaving the way you expect it/are telling it to. Especially when the negative response is both painful and/or impacting your ability to do something important or necessary. You just want it to stop, to go back to normal, to know that you are capable of what you were doing before.

Feeling proud of something, being capable of something, are all necessary things in life. They can often be overly focused on and control our lives in very unhealthy ways, but we all want to feel useful, desired, needed. We all want to have a purpose for being here. Crosshair’s life has been built on his ability to pull a trigger. Who is he without that part of his identity being the driving force? Without it being the only thing of value he thinks he brings to the table.

Crosshair has all the juicy dirt. This is from him being a sniper. He is really observant. He is skilled at reading lips in a bunch of languages. Something he really doesn’t announce to many. It’s usually due to because of the missions if they need it to get key details that could make or break a mission.

But he also uses this to be a shit disturber. Anything you really want to know he probably has the details. From clone drama to other drama. He would also know when the best food or ration shipments come in. This causes a little bit of a riot with the regs.

His dirt information doesn’t come cheap. His information is not free. He will negotiate. But what he gets will determines what dirt they get.

Snacks are fine. He tends to give those to the rest of his brothers. But sometimes he will get something he will like and keep it. But the gossip is just okay.

The best way to get the best dirt is toothpicks. You will hit gold from Crosshair. But if you get his favourite toothpicks then bam the good stuff.

Also people still haven’t figured where the dirt comes from. But the ones that get it from Crosshair are scared shitless. They could be taken out from the sniper.

So my favorite Star Wars AU is when the Clones are just a little more than human, in the other worldly sense.

Like, yeah, Anakin's half force, but everyone who goes through ARC training can't die and no one's really sure why, but some asshole just shot Fives in the temple and all it did was make him mad.

And sure, Mace can see shatterpoints, but Commander Fox has eyes the color of freshly spilled blood and once threw a man threw three durasteel walls.

And maybe Obi-Wan is the consummate Jedi, but he's pretty sure he just saw Tup reach through a man, but when he questions Cody about it there's something eerie and ancient in his gaze that Obi-Wan doesn't want to question.
