So Sage will JOIN the cult eh?
Look the way he is atm there will be inevitable drama. So much that the guy in the beginning is disrupting the (secretly cult) group bcs of him smothering and hogging darling to himself— especially when you released that hcs of how manipulative and stuff he was? That was BEGGING for some inevitable drama down the line!
Picture this: Sage is always on the lookout for your attention to be solely placed on him and him only, and he'll use whatever grubby or dirty methods and CREATE MORE himself if he has to! Just look at him and give him affection pllllsssssss?? But in the bg he's like destroyed the chain's chances of having her and it's FRUSTRATING them to a point they'd naturally try and sabotage Sage's chances in return. Heck even as a whole group.
This just further keeps Sage excluded from the group, and it's even more felt when he makes Reader choose between him or the chain. It's always that.
And Reader? Idk abt u guys but my reader will cry out in frustration: she loves all of them! How can you make her choose? I'm rlly starting to think at some point with all this pressure Sage has been doing he's gonna make Reader cry at some point (mine at least, cuz in her eyes she felt she isn't doing enough to satisfy both parties. She gives and gives but for some reason it isn't enough and it's DRAINING and she wants to cry and now her worth is being questioned by herself and that's a DANGEROUS LINE OF THOUGHT cuz it could teether over to Darling leaving and tHAT CAN'T HAPPEN)
And NOT ONLY THAT. But if this continues on far enough, it could even lead to an accident too— a catastrophic one. Remember the times when the chain wasn't united into the cult that they were now? In Gliphy's writing of that campfire union smth before they agreed to worship their new Goddess, Legend specifically said Reader was HURT from their rivalries.
History will repeat itself, with Sage.
A brewing storm that Legend, —who has become the backbone, mediator AND BRIDGE of the chain— will undoubtedly notice at some point and try as he might he'll stubbornly try and knock some sense into Sage, probs knock him down a peg a bit, he should SHARE and not become overly SMOTHERING, he'll chase their darling away and that's the last thing they need!
But Sage, stubborn, hurt and battered heart Sage, doesn't listen and doesn't himself do the same problems the chain once did before they formed. In his eyes he's ABOVE them from doing the things they used to do, or maybe, he is NOT them and therefore won't be able to do those mistakes. BUT HE IS. HE INEVITABLY WILL. And if Sage goes on this way Reader not only just cry, she'll get HURT, AGAIN.
And when it happens that's practically the eye of the storm. And until she got stuck in bed recovering with no certain date? It's a whole train wreck of explosive emotions between him and the chain.
Sage is in DENIAL. NO. NO NO NO HE DID NOT HURT THEIR DARLING NO IT WAS THOSE LINKS FAULTS IF THEY WEREN'T IN THE PICTURE SHE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN HURT! To which the chain will flip over at him WT* NO IT WAS U THE WHOLE TIME U MANIPULATIVE ATTENTION HOG!! U MADE HER CRY ETC. ETC. It's a battle of words and there's a point they're all screaming at each other—
But naturally Legend halts everything and deals with Sage HIMSELF— Being the bridge that keeps the chain together this whole time, he'll do it again for the sake of keeping this family he actually cherished. And he'll do it by getting rid of the root of the problem.
This is an interesting clash in my opinion. Sage and Legend. Honestly they're so very similar in some ways.
Legend is a hoarder so there's like a hc of him taking everything he can to keep it to himself cuz he also loses stuff and he'll stop at NOTHING to gain his darling's affection and attention too (even when he's tsuntsun. There's no way he's letting all those walls he built be a reason he can't even have a moment w his darling). Mans lost so many loved ones and got betrayed and all that that he's become the way he is to keep himself safe, but his lil inner bunny still longs for that companion, for family, for love.
Sage lost EVERYTHING. absolutely EVERYTHING :')) He's on his THIRD adventure, the princess DITCHED him and he's like at the inch of his life facing Ganon. Man has also gotten all spiky and hard shelled bcs of it. He's tired of people and the princess (smth Legend can relate) he's tired and DESPISES Hylia (smth the chain ALL relates). He can't let anyone get close cuz he'll just get hurt again (Legend absolutely relates)
In a way, they're like, sides of the same coin? Reflected mirrors? Legend has went through so many adventures himself, and while it wasn't quite like Sage's it did leave him as hardshelled and everything as he is now. Personally I think Legend would understand him the most. So he tried, he rlly did, to tolerate Sage. Tried warning him not to do the same mistakes the chain and he HIMSELF once did, that he could push darling away. He knew how he felt the most after all. But he didn't LISTEN. And now they're darling is hurt, AGAIN. And now Legend's patience is on a thin THREAD.
Sage has ONE. LAST. CHANCE. to make things up. And this time Legend is WILLING to cut things off w him and the chain FR if he doesn't own up to his mistakes and the fix the mess he made. He's willing to keep darling AWAY from Sage, bcs the only thing Sage has been good for this whole time is making DARLING OF ALL PEOPLE question their worth, disrupting the chain and their bonds. He's not one of em? He's gonna keep being that way? Fine. They'll take darling WITH THEM and they'll leave him in his Hyrule. But not before Legend chews him out and makes him SEE his mistake. See the DAMAGE it caused not just the chain but to DARLING. that it was HIS FAULT. ALL OF IT. THAT EVERYTHING HAPPENED.
Trust me when I say Sage is one wrong move away from getting maimed by Legend. Man is so ready to kill and the others are too. Especially Cal and Wild. Legend will let Sage decide what he'll do next. And he better not be thinking of kidnapping their own darling cuz they're all gonna fight tooth and nail to keep him away from her and he'll be BANNED from seeing her even if he didn't do that. He needs to see his mistake, just like they all did. And once he ACTUALLY tries to somehow show his sorry and all that? While things are rusty and all, and forgiveness ain't easily given, they'd still accept some... Some..
He's a Link after all. No one here can blame him for anything (even if no matter what, the mistakes he did are inexcusable).

(disclaimer. i am new-ish here and have no idea how popular/prevalent any of these are go easy on me ok. also a lot of these are dadben related wh o o p s)
i've seen some variance of if this is canon in fics and stuff but i really do like the idea of the barkers also living above the pie shop in addition to the barbershop being there. similar situation w the pie shop/lovett living quarters. ig it's just easier to picture in my head then????
(p sure the b*rton film confirms smth like this but i'm ignoring it bc i don't like that guy. this idea is mine now)
part of the reason i like this so much is it means that benjamin barker had all the more time to have lovely moments with lucy and johanna when he wasn't busy with clients
(this also makes sweeney returning there without them all the more painful. if he sits and doesn't do anything then he's flooded by memories of the life he had in those same walls fifteen years ago. like no wonder sweeney's so bent out of shape by being forced to wait for the judge and the beadle to come to him)
johanna had only JUST started walking when ben was transported. he was so excited and happy and loved to try and assist her, encouraging her to take steps holding his hands. chattering away about her with any customer that would listen, perhaps even showing her off ("look at my jo! she's such a fine girl!" "i'm sure she is, mr. barker, but could you please finish shaving me?")
he bought johanna a little lacy bonnet when she was a week old. she didn't need something so fancy at such a young age, and lucy had already sewn her a few bonnets months prior. it wasn't the most sound financial decision he ever made. but oh, his girl just had to have it, and it's a little big, she could grow into it! (lucy admits she looks very cute with it on, even though she says johanna doesn't need it)
(the bonnet is left forgotten in a drawer somewhere for years, until sweeney opens that particular drawer and finds it gathering dust upon his return. he feels sick seeing it, reminding him again how much he missed. then he puts it back and refuses to give it any mind.)
nellie lovett was infuriated by lucy barker in that way that you can't quite pinpoint why you're mad other than they're "too perfect" or "too pretty" or something. ofc there was the fact she was married to ben, but i think there was a little "get out of my school" energy going on there too
idk exactly how lucy ended up on the street (or in bedlam, as lovett says in the finale) but i do think that nellie was, sadly, at least complicit in inaction to stop this from happening (if not having thrown her out herself)
anthony is the sweetest dude around and genuinely loves johanna. doesn't matter that he barely knows her when he says he'd marry her, he knows that he's going to be happy as long as she is
johanna loves him too, and she's surprised by it. not because of anything to do with anthony, but because she's felt so little real love in her life (that she can remember). it's a wonderful and frightening rush looking at him, sometimes, but then he squeezes her hand, or does something silly, or even just sneezes or clears his throat and she's brought back down to reality, in a good way. that anthony is real, and human like her. she doesn't have to "earn" his love by being utterly perfect.
they get out of london basically as soon as they can, just wanting to leave it all behind, at least for a while
it took a little time and arguing but anthony did end up getting a good sum of money from the judge's death, through johanna's inheritance going to her husband (him). they immediately used this money to finance travel. they both love to travel, anthony promising to show her the beauty of the world that, still, cannot rival her in his eyes

you guys dont even know how excited i get when someone asks smth like this abt my art or headcanons or au.
i actually wrote liek a fucking essay oh my god im so sorry anon ill have the actual drawing context after the big bolded caps
TW for typical creepypasta story type stuff
anyway ok UNNECESSARY BACKSTORY: liu spent a long time trying to just psychologically recover from everything. he hated jeff and he hated the memory of everything. jeff signature murders would occur every now and again, each time liu would fall into a deep depression. the murders stopped for a while, and everyone believed jeff 'retired' or died. liu was conflicted about it. until Jeff committed his final full-blown 'jeff fashion' murder (janes family) in tuscaloosa alabama. liu had another breakdown and ended up moving to tuscaloosa because he was completely convinced he needed to find jeff again because he could fix it (or die trying and he'd be fine with that too)
nina was always one of those girls obsessed with 'true crime' but like.... the murderers instead of the cases. she was 12 when jeff's first rampage happened and she just fell head over heels in love with this freak. she began to act out, miss school for days, sneaking out to meet older people, etc etc. eventually she did the classic jeff smile cut into her face(she pussied out on making it like jeffs, so she has cleaner, less noticeable scars) . she started getting severely bullied (for being creepy and worshipping a literal murderer) and her parents sent her to live with her grandparents in mississpi. she started stalking liu through social media and whitepages when jeff was presumed dead. but eventually, jeff's final murder happened in alabama(a state away from her) and after turning 18, she ran away to go find jeff convinced he would 'save her' from the life she created for herself. nina got wrapped up in slenderman business because of her constant Tom Foolery. she met her idol
JEFF IS A BAD PERSON IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. he did a beautiful job in using his #1 fangirl and enjoying the worship. she scrambled for pennies to afford an apartment, she'd sleep on the couch if he wanted to use her bed, she's ride her bike hours to go get weed or something from rando drug dealers that give better deals to pretty girls, make him food, do his damn laundry, literally anything and everything bc THATS HER MAAANNNNN (no he isnt.)
jeff DOES NOT GIVE A FUUUCK about everything nina does for him . one day he finds her trying to creepily get into contact with liu (and liu actually responded) and he loses his shit and stabs her and goes on and on about how 'you ruined your own useless fucking life your family is never going to take you back you did this to yourself' etc. he didn't intend to kill her only cuz he knew she'd forgive him and he liked all the shit she gave him
NOW ABOUT THE DRAWING ITSELF:::::
afterwards nina gets patched up from jeff stabbing her, she has some weird 'liu will save me' spiral (not romantically just in a very literal 'he can fix this' way). liu's been on his own spiral since finding out jeffs alive which is the only reason he even gave nina the time of day. eventually she ends up at his house to 'talk about jeff' bc she sent him creepy pics proving she knew jeff yadayadayada.
im not sure the exact conversation i imagined for the drawing, BUT liu eventually says something that sets nina off and she tears at her stitches and breaks down and drips blood all over his kitchen talking about 'I CAN MAKE HIM LOVE ME AGAIN I JUST NEED YOUR HELP PLEAAASEEEE' or something.
liu's a good man, much to his own detriment, and can't help but comfort this kid who's bleeding and crying in his kitchen at the fault of his own brother. he's all too familiar with wanting to repair his relationship with jeff, despite the amount of rage, betrayal, misery, etc he felt at jeffs hands. he doesn't ACTUALLY want to reconnect with jeff, but it's a very deep internal longing for the baby brother he once had that VERY RARELY overshadows his hatred
i want to reaffirm that liu does not feel positively about jeff at all, does not want to see him, and only moved to alabama b/c of a long ass mental health crises and is now too wrapped up in new financial commitments(plus jane) to move again. and now he feels obligated to help nina
he just misses being a big brother :( not so much the jeff part
also none of this at all is shipping at all i am terrified at the idea of people taking anything romantically . even if nina is in 'love' with jeff its purely for the story/horror . ITS ALL REALLY BAD

a while back there was mention of dragon age daemon au but i don't remember, did you share your daemon headcanons?
for a very simple au i think that everyone has a daemon except dwarves, who don’t because they don’t have a connection to the fade (sorry guys :( it just makes sense in my heart they can have cool other stuff) and mages’ daemons can do stuff thats creepy to everyone else like witches in hdm. i actually think it would be fun if only mages’ daemons could talk or smth like that. obviously “severing” from your daemon is equivalent to being made tranquil
umm for a more layered au that ties it more deeply into da lore it would be fun to tie it more deeply into the da concept of spirits and demons. like everyone has a spirit but it can transform into a demon; chantry lore says that this is when there’s evil in your heart, but really it can also just be when you need a protector. or something like that. templar lyrium probably cuts them off from their spirits in some way which is part of why it does damage. when you templar silence a mage’s powers it deafens their connection to their spirit.
anyway onto the more important things, morrigan has a wolf (looks cool and tough as hell, actually should have a pack). to keep symbolism going with that pair i want to give alistair a sheep which he’s kind of embarrassed abt but it’s like one of the cool ones with sick horns that has soft wool AND could totally gore someone to death if it felt like it. velanna has um a porcupine. fenris has a white tiger and anders has a fox and he’s not saying he’s mad abt the canine feline assignment but yeah he IS mad abt it actually and HE thinks that— anyway anders’ might turn into something else bc of justice? or it’s already justice and “becomes” a different vengeance (affectionate) form during da2? merrill has something she thinks is boring but is actually kind of metal and also still cute like a little bird that traditionally migrates insanely long distances or like uhhh a poisonous newt. dorian has that cool monkey from the concept art or smth. leliana has an owl she wishes was a songbird. solas um has some kind of spirit he’s buddies with that’s pretending to be his spirit so he can cover up for not having one because it was Different somehow in his day, and possibly the spirit is cole idk just throwing that out there. cassandra has a shy little daemon she blushes furiously abt bc she thinks it’s too small and it hides in her armour. sera has a dragonfly. that’s what i have for u

and then kiara ?!!! is so fucking cute i love her so much but the whole time i was like )): ofc the melusines are discriminated against but its so sad - then she called paimon big sis and i was instantly like ((: happi
charlotte cameo !! hi to the fontainian yanfei /j i got so excited i was like OMG CHARLOTTE !! but then she’s talking abt wanting to interview neuvillette but the palais always said no and i’m like we’re friends with him we could just ask him for u 🤨
the whole time talking to charlotte i was like GUYS we’re supposed to be protecting kiara what if something happens while we’re gone 😭 but then there was CLORINDE AND I SCREAMED
talking abt how she regularly gets her clothes custom made by eloffe and i’m like ma’am you need new ones asap that button is gonna pop any time now- 🌚
the entire experience at the fountain had me crying. from seeing carole with neuvillette to seeing carole be a victim of hate crime (something that indescribably familiar and made me both so angry to see (on her behalf) and also upset…) to vautrin’s mild anger when he realised carole had sacrificed herself just for peace ): he saw his deceased little sister in her and so he made the decision to execute everyone who had wronged carole… fucking in tears the whole time
not to mention neuvillette losing carole (which he must have felt guilt for because he’s the one who brought her to the court in the first place) but then he had to do vautrin’s trial for murdering people as an act of revenge and he followed the law and had to say he was guilty even though he was the only person left who was closest to him ?!
and then we get navia ?!?! content i was like damn hoyo is whipping out the GIRLS FOR THIS STORY HUH !!! i screamed when she said spina di rosula were helping !! i was like damn you two are the cutest now after she screamed her feelings at you and you stood at a grave together 🤭
also no one is talking about how he feels emotions from every single aspect of water; the rivers, the rain, everything. this man must be so incredibly overwhelmed by the constant surge of a complete stranger’s emotions..

the cutscene !!!! officially one of my favourites in the entire game 🥹 (alongside the wriothesley one in the archon quest with clorinde, neuvillette’s archon quest one and kokomi’s arrival in the archon quest) when it started raining and the kid came out to say hydro dragon hydro dragon don’t cry !! ):
and lumine and paimon smiling at him and he smiles too and the rain clears up (that shot of the sun coming out over the opera was GORGEOUS i’m so impressed with how much genshin’s graphics have improved since launch!!) and the PUDDLES ON THE GROUND !!!!
charlotte finally getting that interview she wants so badly scheduled and she’s so excited and thanks him !!! and then just all three women stood there together ?? i took photos of them ofc omg navia and clorinde together- but if you talk to them and charlotte is basically fangirling and clorinde is just like “just write all your questions now, he’ll decline all the ones he can’t answer so it’s worth a shot anyways” 🥹
KIARA SLEEPING !!! crying he’s such a parent to them i cannot
and then FINALLY the reply note to his absence note on his desk from furina!!! my wife had her cameo <3 in the sweetest of ways, asking if he’d finally woke up and decided to go outside and he should follow her footsteps more and do it more often - and that it doesn’t matter if something bad happens because you’ll meet plenty of characters along the way
and if you talk to him behind his desk he’s like “what am i supposed to do with her” 🥹🥹🥹
for the record i will be vocal stimming furina’s “oh me, oh my” in that reply note for the rest of eternity <3
i’m so forreal that this is my favourite story quest ever, perhaps because i could relate to it but it also shows that in my opinion not a single fontaine character hates the other as of right now. lyney specifically has no bad blood with anyone; he seems to clear it up with wriothesley and sigewinne in the archon quest but having clorinde, navia and charlotte together talking just like a group of friends and they all came together on their own accord to help neuvillette and even furina’s cameo in her reply note shows that she has some assortment of care for his wellbeing and how he shuts himself away. it was incredibly heartwarming to have each fontaine character have a cameo in some form and other than arlecchino telling the fontaine siblings to keep an eye on neuvillette, they all had positive interactions and intentions.

Hawk Talk
Okay so sorry if this is a little jumpy I'm having a so far two-day long anxiety attack anyway-
We got assigned seating in history and i got sat next to the biggest cunt wad i have ever met i fucking despise her and she's my desk partner
she was cordial and so was i but she has not fucking changed at all
And the cute boy from years ago is still cute and shy and such a sweetheart but he sits behind me ish and to the very far right
So I can't even look at him anymore without anyone noticing :(
And nyxie darling (@whennyxfallsinlove) was right, i was looking at him like a deer staring at headlights the first day because holy shit i REALLY *REALLY* liked him (still do) because he was one of the only genuine boys I met at the time and I was having a really difficult time and yk hanging out with him helped me out since things were happening in my home life that were difficult to say the least
So then the rest of class went smoothly
For math, there is no cute guys
But thats fine because I really like my teacher and he's taught ways to do math that are so much easier
Not only is he funny, but he also REALLY goes into depth of equations and helps out a lot!!
Sooo yeah
I had a mini heart attack bc after I left class I thought my phone fell outta my pocket but the pockets on my jeans are high (since the jeans are high-waisted duh) so it turns out my butt just didn't recognize the feeling since majority of my jeans don't have wider pocket space
But yeah
Anddd then I went to English class

Idk they're cute by my standards but probably not everyone else's lmao

So umm let's call one of them Baseball guy bc he likes baseball and I also didn't wanna ask his name but when I do, I'll probably make a nickname to refer to when I post about him

So yeah D was funny as usual
And the baseball guy talked more and lanie, him, and I were going through this box
It was a worry box and my English teacher (we'll call her Mrs. K) basically had a chest and put it at our table to write our worries on an index card and put it in there (anonymously, but some kids put their names so now we have Blackmail™️ . Probs won't need it, but it's good to have information on people)
And like she said that we could NOT under ANY circumstances go through it..
But we did 😘
So yeah that was fun because I didnt get caught

So me and Lanie started following Cute Baseball Boy™️ to his locker because we're nosy bitches
But then I lost lanie so I sat on the floor until i was found like a 7-year-old who lost her mom at the supermarket

Ik I said that I went basic white girl mode and watched the boys play
But like half the time I was just taking selfies on snap and scrolling through tumblr memes lmao
But the other half me and lanie were laughing at the boys clothes and haircuts bc they look like they rolled out of bed and asked a 5 year old to make their hair the shape of a fucking broccoli spout or whatever tf you call it
y'all it was that bad
(we also laughed abt that shit at lunch too)
Oh forgot something
While we were all going into the girl's locker room of the gym i thought lanie was right behind me but when i turned around i had to tilt my head up and look around for her head because she's way taller than me and she was at the very back of the crowd
So i went to the side and waited for her to get close to me
And she literally fucking said
L: damn girl i keep losing you, you're really speedy
Me: yeah i'm short but it means i walker faster than you, you're a fucking giant

hello im back (that anon who cant play bg3 herself but needs to Explode dekarios-style over her tav and astarion)
i wrote a full ask for axelias backstory to provide context but then i realized how long the ask would get . so here i am with half of what i need to rant over AJSJSJA
ANYWAYS axelia (my rogue tiefling who was a street urchin) and astarion are absolutely enemies to lovers in the same way shadowheart and lae'zel would be enemies to lovers !! they initially hate each other w a Passion but thats before they realize how eerily similar they are w their experiences and outlooks, and how the other can only really begin to understand why they behave the way they do
initially axelia hates astarion bc she has Issues with political figures (the start of her Trauma is bc of one bribed politician that fucked her already poor family over .) and while she wouldnt admit it easily she had a bias AJSJAJAJJ the only thing she really cared about when she got out of the nautiloid was to get back to her younger sister (hope). astarion would pick up on the friction pretty quickly and sass her right back the most to the point where its honestly a routine for them to fight and the only thing missing is either of them copying shadowheart and laezel w the blade at the throat
however. axelia got to know more about astarion beyond his facade . what really was the first thing that made her empathize w This One Of All People is how they both really dont trust/like ppl who display themselves as a lawful hero AJSJAJJAJ she grew up as a street urchin who was forced into that position bc of a guy who pretended to be good, and nobody would help her, a starving dirty tiefling child whos providing for both her and her sister, without smth in return ? so yeah no she Fucking Gets It .
time passes on and she develops an old married couple dynamic w astarion AJJSJSJA like still bickering but more lighthearted as they learn to empathize more w each other. fast forward to him trying to seduce her for the first time and it was a "might as well happen" thing for her KWNRKSJAJA she felt comfy enough that she didnt see any reason to refuse, and she didnt want to admit it at the time but she was def growing more unironically fond of him and his company
the more she hears about astarions story the more she gets furious for him and determined to show him that there are people who will fight for him . its the protective kind of love that axelia doesnt even realize is whats happening. she just knows that above all else, cazador needs to Die and she'd be willing to risk her own safety just to help astarion see it through
by this time theyre in a relationship w no labels AJJSAAA basically act 2 relationship. theyre both not exactly sure what they are to each other but they both know they can rely on the other to actually Give A Shit about them. while they both still love to argue and Disrespect each other its the fun kind where they definitely know its just banter at this point that they can easily use to team up on the others <33
act 3 comes and while axelia also gets the fear behind astarion wanting to ascend so badly she also knows that thats not a decision hed be too proud of if he could see the consequences now AJSJAJAJ so ofc spawn route <33
this is already a super long ask and i apologize for that but thats roughly how i see them progressing if i could acrually play the game </3 i have more Thoughts but ill shut up for now AJSJSJAJA but thank you for reading all that if ever <33

Random thoughts I had during my fifth viewing of the cinematic masterpiece "Cocktail" (1988)
Well... more like my 5 2/3 viewing bc I got like 2/3 through it and then my mom was like "why didn't you tell me you were gonna watch it, I would have wanted to watch it too" so I lied about how far I was through it "there's still a lot left we can start it over" and I watched the same movie almost twice in a row in the span of a few hours :)
"Wild Again" by Starship is one of the only good songs tbh, although "Addicted to Love" and "When Will I Be Loved" are also pretty alright. But the soundtrack is lowkey horrendous imo
I stand by my previous standalone post- no one has ever been that excited to get on a fkin Greyhound bus
Benefit of the bus, however- the scene with him and the baby; I feel like Tom just vibes really well w kids because he's such a smiley, fun, and chaotic lil guy and gREAT now I have baby fever again thx 💖
Oh the blatant plot exposition about his parents that they beat us over the head with oh-so-subtly

The amount of raw sexual energy that this man exudes- I remember someone's post from a while back that was like "why is Cocktail like a 'mom' movie that all the moms are still obsessed with" but just like imagine if you saw this in theaters when it first came out

I've always thought Elisabeth Shue is so incredibly underappreciated as an actress, smth about her line delivery and expressions just seems very genuine and naturalistic idk

I don’t care how unrealistic the end is, and that in real life they would have 100% soon gotten divorced, bc I want to believe that people can change and that all of the tribulation was worth it + enough for Brian to become a good dad/husband and successful but with it not being above and at the expense of his family; he would be such a fun and chaotic dad and their life would be so hectic w twins but I want to believe they could do it :( it comforts my cynical and depression-addled brain to believe they could do it :(

Thoughts about Wednesday (the show)
I wished i liked the Wednesday show more. Truly. But...
...the writing felt half-assed. The characters felt lazy. The addams family felt not quite weird enough. It seemed to be a very safe (somewhat boring) reboot that ppl are groveling over simply bc they want winclair to be canon (which, fine do your thing -- but you're setting yourselves up for heartbreak bc these writers/showrunners give zero effs about making wednesday canonically queer). The love triangle was actually painful to watch.
There was throw-away "representation" with her being asked if she was into someone a "guy...or you know, a girl?" to get woke points. Someone else pointed it out too, but the black male mayor being told he doesn't "know what it's like to be not heard" was so incredibly tone deaf it threw me off. As well as the only real POCs having a personality being the actual Addams crew.
(The siren queen bee was cool but she like immediately became Wednesday's bestie after 2 minutes of a heart to heart at a dance? Idk she felt wasted/characterized too quickly to feel impactful when she helped in the last episode. There was no emotional "oomph" to her being on Wednesday's team.) ((Also there was the aapi vampire who smiled once and had a single line of dialogue or smth...? wish we got more from her bc that's a cool-ass concept of being stuck in a place like nevermore where ppl know you're an immortal--like I was waiting for a big reveal to be pulled from this vamp being like "hey I knew your parents when they went here, oh, that fancy book you need? I have read all the nevermore books so many times I can just rewrite it for you by memory, where's your typewriter?")) Basically none of the students "banded together" for Wednesday in a believable way. They just...did....?
And if the intent was to simply get a flavor of the month moody white boi as Wednesday's love interest -- fine, but you didn't even make them likeable (not the actors' faults, bc they were clearly given no direction other than "go and be in love w wednesday for no reason bc she's MC"). And Wednesday as a character would avoid the moody bois and possessive "nice guys" like the plague (pun not intended) and would find interest in a strange/true social outcast more. (If she's gotta be with a boy make sure it's like whatshisface in Addams Family Values who is nerdy and nervous and a true social outcast that Wednesday had a real banter/challenge with instead of gross obsession/ownership like fuccboi #1 and #2. Again, not the actors' faults.)
I am so torn as an ace person bc I want her to be aroace so badly (and I believe it would be an appropriate identity for her). I also don't want to be the ace person being like "no winclair shouldn't be canon" bc I want sapphic stories to be represented but I hate how any close platonic relationships are automatically romanticized/ran away with despite how the characters feel about the other person. Again, if this is a friends(roomates) to lovers story fine. But there's zero chance that'll happen with the writing where it's currently at (I mean, they can change this but rn I don't see it happening).
TL;DR
1. wednesday shows how thirsty we all are for true queer rep/romantic or otherwise
2. the love triangle trope (esp the cishet ones) have to be damn good in this day and age to be worthwhile (the triangles in 1899 come to mind as good, current examples involving fleshed out characters with chemistry)
3. the show is trying to earn woke points without committing,
4. the addams family is mischaracterized from the source material,
5. this reboot entry is safe, lazy, and predictable from a plot, character, and worldbuilding standpoint (I was expecting far out weird/spooky shit like the Sabrina netflix series tbh and was really disappointed in how safe this reboot played it)
6. I wish I wanted winclair to be canon but i don't and I wish I did so ppl don't think i'm being "too ace" or "anti-" bc anytime platonic relationships occur between two pretty ppl the internet loses its mind and disregards what the characters actually feel about each other (reinforcing that friendship < romance)

I can’t lie and so sorry if this ends up being really long and rambly but I was v surprised when you said you didn’t expect anyone to care about Floris and Aemond’s relationship, to me, they were almost enigmatic as a couple. While ofc as the main pairing Aegon/Annika (❤️) get the focus I felt like Willa and Daeron had more of an overtly loving relationship (Like that sort of proposal?? MY HEART. THOSE BABIES.) While Aemond and Floris had been around in the story for a long time, they seemed to have one where they seemed to operate as partners rather than a couple. Like i remember when it was revealed that Floris was pregnant I was like “THEY HAD SEX?!” I still shipped them ofc and like when they got reunited I was like “omfg just kiss her!” but I was convinced in my head fsr that was like all building up to some sort of catalyst or smth! I had expected that with the Alys stuff that it would be like really revealing in that way for them. I’m really excited to meet your Alys. Anyway so sorry for rambling 😭 I really loved Floris in which we mostly saw her through Annika’s eyes and their relationship; it pains me to know we won’t see them together again.
Since she’s gone, I do want to ask how Aemond actually thought about her? Did he love her? Was there problems between them? I’m sooo excited to see his next POV bc holy shit the trauma 😭

I suppose I didn't think anyone would care about them because I actually never thought anyone would read the story at all, let alone like it😭 I always wanted to make it very pro-green and when I started planning it back in october I was still writing my other Aemond fic and people always complained about how much they hated how green centric was so I thought well I’m probably gonna get so much hate with this one (it wasn’t the case at all and I’m still shocked abt it). Most of the fics I found about Aemond back then while not necessarily bad, always had him betraying his family at some point, and I had never encountered a story that humanized their side. It seemed to me that Aemond was always mischaracterized; I always saw him as a very complex guy when it came to feelings and relationships. In my head, if Aemond were to love someone romantically, I never thought of him as someone who would enjoy pda or made a big deal out of his feelings. I think of him as serious and very reserved person, the opposite of Aegon who I see as more likely to have flamboyant relationships, being more hypersexual and unable to keep his hands off his partner.
I think that, in my story, that's the Aemond I wanted to portrait and the Aemond I also needed. He is kinda mad and cold, but he’s a man who cares deeply for his loved ones and shows it by doing everything he can to protect them rather than with actual words. He's a man whose love comes from duty, which I find interesting considering the famous phrase we all know, “love is the death of duty,” because I believe it's the opposite for him. He loves Floris, in his own way, because he learned to love her. Because that's what he must do. And he cares about his family, and since Floris arrived he's been a support for all of them, especially for the children. Besides, she saw him throughout his grief for Helaena while supporting his mother and the children because she's a dutiful person. I still feel like they're companions, they complement each other perfectly because they're opposites (I've already said the best way I can describe them is that she's sweet where he's bitter), and unlike Annika and Aegon, they have clear priorities and duties that they put above their feelings and needs. And yes, they did have sex haha, I just think Aemond has a lot on his mind beyond sex (there's a lot of baggage there for him too), and their relationship isn't necessarily the most physical. But they do have chemistry. And he allows himself to be gentle to her than to anyone else. With Daeron and Willa, it's simpler because they're the definition of puppy love.
To sum it up, yes, he did love her. And he will mourn her and we are going to see all of it because man do I love writing about grief🥳
