as much as im annoyed by the potential implications of the mhj/hybe drama i do feel like theres way too much speculation rn ... rlly doesn't sit so well with me that everyone is bashing on mhj alone (im not supporting her either though) and not bang sihyuk too. some hybe stans rlly js worship the guy and idk why . its not like he's innocent too. like those texts from him are so annoying too. abt if she's satisfied that nwjns is so popular and also abt trying to rival aespa / bp alone ...

hybe has sm power and r known for their mediaplay so i rlly do wish people would keep that in mind instead of doing their own speculation to bash on mhj . we don't know fs if she's the reason behind seunghan, youngseo, etc .... it seems so forced that everyone just collectively is making stuff up on their own theories and pissing on her. like im all for it when everything's done with but it's giving misogyny to me ughhh idk how to explain it eitherr without sounding like a mhj stan I PROMISE IM NOT TAKING HER SIDE T_T i just cant help but feel like poeple find it easier to hate and bash on women sometimes. even me scrolling x nowadays feels so annoying. literally feel so bad for illit and nwjns rn.

personally i was a teeny annoyed that illit had a similar image to nwjns w their nostalgia/coquettecore (also though just seems like cute/youthful concept is making a cb in general in kpop) but only because their songs on super real me were the exact type of songs i liked most from nwjns (super shy, hurt etc. the softer less peppy songs compared to hybe boy) so it bothered me that there was an implication that nwjns might be forced to distance itself to a more differing concept to keep some contrast btwn the two ... but ik that's not illit's fault at all (literally love the girls sm im a runext fan ^^) i feel like i can understand the upset that illit was getting a similar concept when every other grp before illit in hybe had more defined concepts seperating each other. but once again that's all hybe's doing ...... seeing the choreographers supporting mhj too makes it seem like not even the nwjns team or even all the staff were on board with the references in the choreo either...

anyways i do hope this controversy doesnt impede on either grps promos :( and i rlly hope everything gets sorted out... im srsly hoping this doesnt turn into a 5050 situtation again but with nwjns i was so upset when that happened . was curious on what your thoughts were or if u were keeping up with everything?

the way im coming back to reply to this first thing after my exams is insane, but this nwjns thing makes me so angry for all the idols under hybe. both parties j cares sm ab money that they're blindsided by the potential of ruining their idols careers, mental health and images. mhj is being stupid and hybe does seem to be doing anything to protect nwjns (as far as we know. i could be wrong).

i def thing that bang hyung sik (bhs) isn't innocent either. although min heejin (mhj), in my opinion, is more in the wrong j based on the treatment of other idols, bhs seemed to provoke her, and on top of that, the company seems to blindly support ppl and give them a platform so long as they make profit for the company. ive been seeing a lot of ppl saying hes j human but youd think theres a reason why mhj got kicked from sm, yk? and you j took her back in w open arms.

hybe is v good at media play fs. its their forte, and ppl seemed to stray from the from the main problem. mhj is using nwjns as a weapon. hybe probably is doing the same thing w their other groups too, dont get me wrong. ppl seem to forget that this entire issue isnt "drama", its a legal battle ensuing between a huge corporation and its subsidiary. hybe has infinite power compared to ador. its horrible on both ends.

the thing is tho, mhj has consistently been showing the public red flags. the lyrics of 'cookie (ik she didnt write the lyrics but shes the ceo. she got them approved)', the portraits gifted to her of naked underaged girls, her obsession w olivia hussey (who happens to look like minji), her treatment of sm employees, her past work w shinee (sexualization of underaged taemin), etc. not to mention her extremely (at least in my eyes) inappropriate relationship w nwjns. the gifts shes gotten them and how she uses their emotions as a weapon. if bhs did that, everyone would be up in arms.

i dont think (for the most part) this is misogyny. i think ppl alw had a weird feeling about her. at least i did.

idt its good to speculate on ppls departure tho. youre def right ab that. the lsfm hate train (esp the coachella one) most likely has nothing to do w mhj. and i do agree that hybe copied or was at least inspired by nwjns, but idt illit copied them. illit and nwjns have a very 'pinkpantheress' sound, the uk early 00's bedroom pop genre. however, nwjns is more y2k and illit is more dream-like, ykwim? hybe was def inspired by nwjns tho. i think a more fitting one would be tws tbh. their sound is v similar to me (emphasis on to me) than illit.

dont get me wrong, it's incredibly shady and the way that a lot of staff are on her side makes me think that hybe was leeching off of the success of nwjns. it referenced all girl groups under hybe tho, lsfm and fromis, but there was def more nwjns references.

what im worried ab the most are the groups, esp nwjns. lsfm has been going thru their own struggles and rn this isnt the best for them, but theyre not extremely involved in the situation, not like nwjns and illit. illit, from what ive seen, has majority of the success and recognition from overseas. however, their success in korea'll take a huge hit. itll def take a toll on the girls mental, considering they j debuted and this happened.

nwjns is the worst off. theres a chance they might leave w mhj if ador does pull away from hybe, which isnt in the groups best interest. mhj's press conference and overall attitude is gonna affect their upcoming release fs, and their proximity to mhj herself is worrisome.

hybe doesnt seem to be doing shit to protect their artists, they're j protecting their name. theres no statement on or for illit, no statement on malicious comments for any of the groups (that i know of).

tldr: min heejin and hybe are both at fault. dont take sides of either, take the side of the idols.

sorry, im j so passionate ab this. the shit ive been seeing online has been making me mad. after getting back from the lsfm hate train too... as mad as i am at mhj, hybe GAVE her that platform. if the things they claim is true, and if the speculation is true, they alr knew from her past employment that she was shady. its their fault for allowing that.

season 3 ted lasso, just pissing some thoughts after watching the finale. talkin about things they fumbled unbelievably hardcore this season jsyk.

- the unrelenting force of forgiveness and tying everything up with a pretty bow extending to both the sam's restaurant being destroyed storyline and the james tarttt sr storyline. just wooooooof... Terrible. sam and jamie i'm literally gonna get u out of there.......

- keeley's plot this season was So disappointing. she used to be a driving force and here she felt like an afterthought, and i don't know if it was because KJPR was separate from the club, but she was just so disconnected. they dropped shandy, they dropped jack, hard. thank god for barbara because i liked a lot of her and keeley's scenes [snow globe :)]. and then in the finale relegated keeley to role of object of affection for jamie and roy to fight over👍awesome😐 love triangle plotlines suck ass majority of the time, and maybe jamie and roy in the finale could have been played funny for me [sorry to royjamie brain it for a sec, but they alone still are. intricate rituals and all that. that ripped shirt, bloody nose combo etc etc lmaoooo] but because the show has continually fucked keeley over this season it leaves a bit of a bitter taste. her kicking them out her house like yesssss literally. get their asses outta here. idk, romantic relationships aside, it just felt shit that for keeley's last episode she didn't even get to reap any positives of the platonic relationships she has with roy or jamie. [at least we have rebecca. society if keeley kissed rebecca in the finale] lol not really but u knooow. just after the shoddy love bombing plotline with jack, and the way her relationship with jack concluded and this in the finale, i hope she stays single for a while, and i think the show settled on that at least which okay.👍 she's literally keeley fuckin jones waaaaoough....

- the fucking locker room information PSA's........ maaaan i Know the show is cheesy feelgood tv but season 1 was not just morality lesson central with characters talking like npcs delivering do good greeting card messages one after another.

- ted's marriage plotline was dogshit 👍 just yaaaaaaawns all round idk. rewatching scenes from season 1 and bein like? this dude used to make me chuckle! what happened..... thank god they didn't fumble the bag on sending him back to kansas to be with henry. [henry having the same strip number as jamie was a nice touch]. i just wonder that if this season had some more jamie ted scenes [that weren't him telling jamie to forgive his father 😐] that it might have strengthened that ache to get back to his son even more, as opposed to reopening a perfectly concluded plotline with michelle because oh no....she's... dating?

- naaaaaaaate. my guy nate waaaaaaahh. they sidelined you so fucking hard. did not know what to make of nate's plot this season with jade. i think they had sweet scenes together but concerning the actual footie of the show [the football show in question] they made nate a fucking afterthought too. some episodes it was like and uhhhh... yeah... quickly !! show the west ham building and get a reaction shot from nate!! we forgot we set him up at the end of season 2 as an antagonistic force for richmond to go against. like come onnn man. think that international break was nate's strongest episode outta the whole season, what with his depression slump, attic rummaging, family photo album reminiscing, violin playing, father reconciliation, will apology with lavender, just a really solid nate episode all round. its just sad it came so late in the season.

So we're continuing the Fallout au info dumping...I decided to break them up into parts as this got ridiculously long. So this is part 2. Guess I can post one part per day.

Also I wanna add that at any moment I may go back and edit certain details. Y'all know me, nothing is ever set in stone EXCEPT for certain details. And from now on THIS is the current official info. Everything prior to this current info dump is null and void.

Trek out of NV:

So the boys joined the caravan of families who were being escorted by a group of 8 hired guns. At first everything was fine, two weeks into the trek Loke found out that they were heading towards Boston to pick up some other family members and the caravan was gonna continue to Canada which he thought was too far but he didn't really wanna stay in Boston either so once they reached Boston he and Jelani would stop to gather their bearings.

So as for the mercs escorting the caravan. They would drink a lot and do a lot of chems practically in front of everyone and would get rowdy, getting into fist fights with each other and getting so boisterous they'd get trigger happy and shoot into the air as a form of celebrating victorious fights. This was obviously making the entire caravan uncomfortable. This didn't sit well with the boys so Jelani called them out on it which the group obviously didn't like.

On the third week the head of the caravan sat down with Loke and made a deal with him and his brother. They were gonna fire the group of hired guns they hired, pay them for their time as to avoid them getting trigger happy, and hire Lo and Jela to escort them as far as they wanted. Lo and Jela agreed so they all had a sit down. It didn't go as smooth as they wanted but at least no one got shot. The mercs got their caps and begrudgingly left while scowling at Loke and Jelani.

The days went by without too much happening. The occasional rabid and/or radiated critter tried to start shit but Loke and Jelani quickly put a stop to it.

There were others around Jelani's age and Loke got sentimental watching him interact with other teenagers and just being one himself in a carefree way. He legit often questioned if he did a good job raising him. He knows their situation wasn't normal and Loke raised him like he was raised: to be prepared for the wasteland and all the shit it could throw at him. However, sometimes he felt he was training him, not raising him and often times he wondered if Jelani was happy and okay, if he felt loved and cared for or if he felt he needed something that Loke wasn't providing. Still, Loke just sat back and enjoyed seeing Jelani just be a teenager and not a mercenary for once. If he was gonna be honest with himself he was feeling sentimental due to the heartbreak of what he left behind in New Vegas and wondered if he would ever see him again.

Almost 2 weeks after the original hired guns were let go the caravan had stopped for the night to eat and then sleep. Much later into the night Dagny woke Jelani up but having had a few drinks he was kind of unresponsive and pushed her away. When she realized he wouldn't budge she went over to Loke but he just ignored her. Jelani then got up and walked away from the camp cuz all that alcohol he indulged in had worked its way through his system and he felt his bladder was about to burst. Dagny followed him as she usually does. Wherever that kid goes, she follows. Once he was finished he was grabbed by someone and taken further into the woods where he was hit hard enough in the back of the head that he blacked out. When he came to the first thing he noticed was that he was sitting on a chair in some old abandoned house, in what was once the basement and in front of him were all 8 of the hired guns from before. Jela then realized that he was handcuffed. As he looked around he noticed Dagny had been tied to some old pipes and her mouth was taped shut. Of course Jelani freaked out at that but Christian, the leader of the group, assured him she was safe and they weren't interested in her but the same couldn't be said about Jelani. See, Christian and the others were pretty salty that Loke and Jelani had cost them their job so they wanted to get even. Initially who they were targeting was Loke, Jelani hadn't even crossed their minds. He's just a kid, they figured he was just backing up his older brother. But once they saw Jelani they figured they could hurt Lo through Jela and they took him instead.

TL;DR version for those that don't want details. Look for ✅ for when the detailed version ends and the rest continues: Jelani was beaten and raped by all 8 of them.

Detailed version if you don't mind reading about this sorta thing: At first they were just gonna beat the shit outta him but Christian (*if you recognize this name from the original version what happened next shouldn't surprise you) is a massive piece of shit. From the second Lo and Jela joined the caravan he was eyeing Jela (yeah, in that way) and Loke noticed. He told him Jelani's a minor and to stay the fuck away from him or Loke would curb stomp him to death. Normally Loke wouldn't just threaten to kill someone looking to do harm to his brother. He would just pull out a gun, pop two in their skull and go about his normal day but the situation was a little restrictive. That just made it worse because Christian saw it as a challenge. So the original plan was just to beat 'im unconscious but Christian got bold as the beating went on.

Jela wasn't just gonna sit there and take it though. He managed to land a few good blows but his hands were handcuffed behind his back and the cuffs had been secured way too tightly making movement challenging. However, there were 8 of them and they soon overpowered him. They tossed him to the ground and got to work and after beating him to the point where Jelani was about to lose consciousness they stopped and Christian made a suggestion. He didn't outright say it but the wording was enough for Jelani to understand what his intentions were. He could take a beating, he'd been in fights before but what was being suggested unsettled him. As the group closed in he fought them off as best as he could even though a lot of his injuries made it hard. He managed to break one of their noses with a well placed headbutt but before he could continue to fight back Christian had grabbed an old beer bottle and smashed it on the back of Jela's head causing him to collapse and lose consciousness for almost 3 minutes.

On Christian's order they actually waited for him to wake back up to start the assault but not before taping his mouth shut and tying his legs. When one was doing the assault the others held him down and forced him awake whenever he looked like he was about to faint or punched him whenever he closed his eyes. After the third guy had his turn with Jelani Christian ripped the tape off his mouth, pushed the sharp end of a knife against his throat and threatened to slit his throat if he bit down and began to orally assault him while he waited for the others to finish. The one that had his turn with Jela would push his head forward, keeping it in place. It took all the strength Jelani didn't have left to push back. Occasionally they'd let go so he could catch his breath but they barely let him breathe long enough before Christian would continue. This was followed by mocks about "breathing through his nose" which he was bleeding from. When all 7 finished Christian had his turn and he was incredibly cruel about it. The other 7 were pretty rough with him but Christian made it a point to REALLY make it hurt and the more Jelani cried and screamed the more he'd make it hurt. Christian encouraged him to fight back in a mocking way but Jelani just couldn't anymore. He was far too exhausted, in too much pain and had already lost a lot of blood. Christian put his hands all over him while whispering some messed up shit in his ears (just fucked up shit related to what Christian was doing to Jela). Unlike the others he took his time too and occasionally continued to beat him. At one point Christian hit 'im with the broken beer bottle and split open his upper and lower lips.

This was already detailed and messed up enough so I left a detail or two out. When I say Christian was super cruel during the rape I mean he was very fucking cruel.

When Christian was done with Jelani the group left him there where he lost consciousness. Christian tried to clean some of the blood but he was covered in Jelani's blood. He took the key to the handcuffs and tossed it next to Jelani and left. Dagny had struggled so much that she broke the rope she was tied with and ran to Jelani but he was out cold. She pushed him a bit but he wasn't responding so she tracked down the camp to find Loke. Back at camp they noticed Jelani was missing and were getting ready to go out to look for him when Dagny came running towards Loke. He knew damn well that that nightstalker was never far from Jelani and seeing her snout taped shut scared the living fuck out of him. He took off the tape and got her to track Jelani down.

Eventually Dagny led Loke to some run down building 2 miles from the camp. Dagny ran down to the basement and started barking to get Loke's attention. When he reached the basement he felt his heart stop and his stomach drop. For a split second he thought Jelani was dead so he ran over and checked for a pulse. Once he found a pulse Loke checked him over and that's when he noticed Jelani's pants were down to his thighs. Loke started to panic and cry when he saw a lot of blood between Jelani's legs and the horror of the realization set in.

Loke carefully tried to get Jelani to wake up while trying to control his panicking as it wouldn't do either of them any good and he needed to focus on helping his kid brother. Eventually Lo managed to wake Jela up but as soon as Jela saw Lo he started to cry. He was in so much pain that he couldn't really move, he couldn't talk either.

No, Jela was NOT okay. Loke untied his legs, carefully removed the broken tape, uncuffed him, and took him back to the caravan where a doctor looked him over and confirmed what Loke had suspected. Among the injuries Jelani had a few cracked ribs, torn open lips, swollen black left eye (it wasn't swollen enough to be shut tho the sclera of that eye was bloody), vocal hemorrhaging (he screamed and yelled so much he tore his vocal cords), injured larynx from the strangulation, bruised mouth (the soft and hard palate), concussion, bruised wrists (from the hand cuffs), and lacerations and bruising.

Some of the injuries were treated, most others would recover on their own in 4 to 6 weeks if he took it easy, the cut to the back of his head needed 11 stitches and a lot of stimpaks and med-x was used on him to help with the recovery and alleviate some of the pain. The non-physical injuries were hard to tell, all the doctor could tell Loke was that it was only with time and support. Given the situation they decided to take a few days to sit and rest while Jelani somewhat "recovered". Loke was torn and twisted with guilt. He knew now that Dagny was trying to warn him there were intruders around but he ignored her.

As for Jelani he spent the first day away from the group and just cried. He didn't want anyone near him or touching him, he didn't wanna eat or drink anything much less let Loke near him. He didn't blame him at all, no one was to blame but he felt an immense amount of shame knowing how his brother found him and Jelani knew that Loke knew what had been done to him. On day 2 he just slept, he curled up next to his brother and slept. On day 3 he was quiet but at least he was eating again but everywhere he went he needed Loke to be there too. Jelani told Loke he just wanted to forget it happened and that holding the group because of him wasn't gonna change what had been done to him so the next morning they kept going.

As the days kept passing Loke noticed a bitterness in Jelani that wasn't there before and every time he asked him about it Jelani just told him to forget it. Loke gave him his space but kept a close eye on him because Loke knew Jelani was still hurting from the assault. He also noticed Jelani wasn't sleeping, not really. Every time he did fall asleep he'd wake up in a jolt and often times with tears in his eyes and shivering. He always refused to go back to sleep after that happened. Loke was obviously worried, he tried talking to Jelani but he'd change the subject or outright told Loke he just wanted to forget it happened. Regardless of not knowing how to help his kid brother he was determined to help him however he could.

Three weeks after the assault they were close to the outskirts of Massachusetts and the path they were using had been blocked by a ton of debris. The group stopped to check the map and try to find a way around as the debris was far too much and most of it looked very heavy to manually move. Jelani noticed an old warehouse next to a train station which they could use even though it would add an extra day depending on the status of the area. He volunteered to check it while Loke checked another possible route.

When both returned Loke said his route was fucked due to possibly the same storm that fucked up the main route but if they moved carefully they could get through and maybe move some of the debris out of the way. Jelani reported that while the map was outdated his was still a viable route to take and wouldn't take 3 to 4 days like the other route would. Somehow a large and deep fissure formed next to the warehouse and a river passed through it now but it seemed like a rickety wooden bridge suspended by rope was used to connect both sides of the fissure. It wasn't very wide so they'd have to take it slowly. Loke insisted that the other way seemed safer even if it would take a lot longer but Jelani kept insisting that the way he was suggesting was better. In the end Loke relented and the group went the way Jelani suggested.

As they reached the warehouse a massive deathclaw emerged from behind them and began to attack the group. Some people were injured but Loke ran towards the massive lizard and got its attention while telling Jelani to get everyone into the warehouse and to stay in there with them. Jelani got everyone inside the warehouse and told them to keep quiet but instead of staying inside like Loke had ordered he grabbed his mom's sniper and ran out to help his brother. The deathclaw had pinned Loke down on the bridge and had slashed at him in several areas and was about to bite down but Jelani shot it in the back getting the creature's attention. It didn't immediately go for him because right behind Jelani was a smaller deathclaw that pounced on him and began slashing at him. Loke freaked out and shot the animal in the head while the bigger deathclaw was distracted. The smaller one died instantly but pinned Jelani down as it was heavy. The big one turned to run towards Loke. It managed to pin him down again but before it could do anything Jelani shot it again and this time he managed to shoot one of its eyes out. As the massive beast turned its attention to Jelani Loke had gotten out a knife and began cutting the rope while yelling at the deathclaw though its attention was fully on Jelani as it crept towards him.

Jelani noticed what Loke was doing and began to freak the fuck out as he tried to push the smaller dead deathclaw off of him. As the bridge waddled when one side came apart the deathclaw looked back at Loke and froze as it seemed to realize the bridge was breaking. It tried to run but Loke began to cut the other rope in time to stop it from getting to Jelani.

As Loke finished cutting the rope he looked at Jelani and both looked at each other momentarily as Loke said, "I love you!". Jelani managed to push off the deathclaw, ran to the edge and watched in absolute horror as his brother fell through the fissure and hit the water. His screaming turned to cries as he desperately yelled for his brother but the only thing he saw resurface was the deathclaw. The group came out of the warehouse and ran to Jela but couldn't find Lo anywhere. They saw the bridge was broken and Jela at the edge of the fissure crying and screaming and they put two and two together. They tried to get Jelani to go with them but he refused to move. They kept trying to get him to move but eventually he pulled a gun out on them and told them he wasn't going to leave without his brother. He even refused any of them to treat his wounds.

There really was nothing they could do for him so they left his and his brother's things next to him and an extra bag with food, water, medicine and some ammo and continued on their way.

Jelani spent 4 days just sitting in the same spot hoping against hope that Loke survived the fall and was just slowly making his way back to him. On the 5th day he accepted the fact that Loke wasn't coming back and he'd just lost the only person he ever had and loved. He grabbed his things, the extra bag, Dagny, and made his way to Boston.

(just a reminder that I didnt watch the movie yet so this is anyone's review what i saw from official twitter ososan tag "I watched Osomatsu Hipipo", some of it really weird review bcus of their "fantasy"??? so im not including that :/)

turns out quite positive review so far, lots of silly funny parts especially the second part of this movie ( this movie takes 1+ hours jsyk)

basically from what I know the plot is 6 of them just want to take a bite of the sparkling apple but then some said the apple is the "key" that the ending is so good??? could be a punchline or epic conclusion idk

Omg hi I just started reading “who cares? It’s young love” and I wanted to say 1) baller Tumblr username 2) I love your writing so much! You’ve done such an amazing job of expanding on what Nick and Charlie gain and learn from each other, and one of my favorites was how Nick compared the sweetness of his girl friends to Charlie’s. Like I literally screenshotted and cropped that bit just cuz it was so cute and made such perfect sense. Charlie is very apple-y.

Redemption Road -misc/600+k. an incredibly long fic from a collaborative writing group back in the day. canon divergent from the end of s6 on, has a cool take on godstiel and the leviathans, as well as the lovecratian mythos connection. ngl when i reread it i only made it about 28% in but imo the casual reader can actually stop around there, the rest concerns a lovecraftian apocalypse that is still good (i think i don’t remember it very well) but not required to enjoy the first half. if you prefer i have an ebook version i can send you on gdrive.

Someone Who's Feeling For Me* - mature/45k, s12. they run into lisa braeden and dean thinks cas is into her while cas thinks dean still likes her. treats lisa way better than the show ever did and the miscommunication is pretty funny rather than annoying.

a turn of the earth - mature/95k. time travel fic where cas from s10 keeps showing up in deans life from a few years before s1 to right before the hellhounds take his soul.  slow burn, good character study, and at one point cas punches the dad in the face and it rules.

On the Wings of War - teen/85k, canon divergent s5. dean accidentally becomes the Horseman of War. plays fun, fast and loose with biblical lore, michael has some rights.

Named - mature/95k, alternate s5. EXTREMELY blasphemous in a fun sexy way. manages to predict metatron almost to a T. there’s one major character death and its literally jesus christ, everyone is very sad about it and it sets the rest of the story rolling. an alternate interpretation of cas’ mission to raise dean from hell which had me on the floor. ngl its kind of misogynistic at points, but its from 2010 and tracks with late oughts-2010 spn (sorry anna the author did you dirty here:/).

The Girlfriend Experience - explicit/15k. uhhh i don’t normally rec or even read smutty stuff unless someone i know is specifically asking for it but this has stuff like sam trying to be a good ally and dean thinking holding hands with cas is ‘kinda gay :/’ minutes after having gay sex with him.

i crippled your heart a hundred times - explicit/19k, s8. cas confesses his feelings and dean spends a long time getting his head out of his ass about it. truly hits different after the actual confession, despite being written six years early it feels like its actually what could have gone down more or less if the writers weren’t talentless demons who hate us.

My Roots Take Flight** - mature/125k. reverse au where cas is a hunter and dean’s an angel...OR IS IT???? an alternate retelling of s4. tw for briefly being set in a psychiatric hospital/the hospital being mentioned somewhat frequently throughout the fic, plus more references to torture in hell and heaven than usual.

The One Thing You Can't Lose* - teen/4k.you know those posts about how cas is a super-strong super-tough ancient warrior but he just lets dean tug him around because he likes it? thats it thats the fic.

Hands, From Which All Things Are Built - teen/14k, post s8′s ‘goodbye stranger.’ cas is on the run with the angel tablet but keeps in touch with sam and dean by text, he and dean still manage to be terrible at Actual communication.

Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day - mature/30k, post s11. a monster that takes the appearance of your soulmate leads to some wild miscommunications and dealing with years of repression, also dean gets to see cas’ true form which is always cool. tw for non-graphic mentions of underage sexual assault/sex work.

Down to Agincourt - mature/explicit/900++++k, endverse continuation. endverse!cas survives his encounter with lucifer and discovers another time-displaced dean from s7. i’ve only read the two of four parts but its really good, veeeeery slow burn, has a lot of fun oc’s and takes a rather surprising but (imo) entertaining and intriguing turn into Hellenic history and mythology. usual tw’s for endverse/endverse!cas but nothing graphic, it’s actually pretty light-hearted (relatively speaking of course).

Nothing Equals the Splendor** - explicit/8k, THEE finale fix it fic you’ve been waiting for! posits that the entire final episode was just a (very bad and lame) djinn’s vision.

like moses and batman and james dean - explicit/31k, post s8. explores dean’s trauma and internalized homophoba from his technically canon experience with sex work and its impact on his relationship with cas. the sex work itself isn’t really shown in any detail but it’s still a relatively heavy fic.

Crazy Diamonds - explicit/25k, s4/alternate s14. fresh-out-of-hell dean and dean from 10 years in the future are displaced from time and sent to each other’s present.

where the weeds take root - explicit/30k. au where the men of letters kick them out of the bunker and they accidentally move out into the country, get over their codependence and semi retire. featuring chicken coop building, sam volunteering at a dog shelter, gardening, and blissfully mundane domesticity.

No Resting Place - teen/6k. djinn dream fic, switches back and forth between cas’ dream of being married to dean and retired from hunting to the aftermath when he wakes up. tw for brief mention of suicide since, y’know, djinn dream.

any port in a storm - mature/52k. post s8 finale. cas and dean have to pose as a couple going through a rough patch for a case and actually deal with their emotional baggage, cas struggles with being human and metatron is up to stuff.

It’s February 14th and Touya is a mess. He’s been hyper aware of the holiday, watching the date creep closer and closer for weeks now. Well, it’s finally here and he still has no fucking clue what to do about it. Truth be told, he felt a little pathetic. He was a master strategist in battle, but he couldn’t figure out plan for a silly little holiday?

Except, it wasn’t silly. Not anymore. Not since he found you. He knew he could tell you that he loved you any other day. Or show you, as he often opted to do in place of an attempt at flowery language. He was certainly no good at that. He could try, he thinks to himself. Maybe a poem? Or a note? People did that cheesy shit on Valentine’s all the time, right?

He tries. Stares at a sheet of paper for entirely too long, listening to the clock tick by, counting down the fleeting seconds that he had left to come up with something perfect. Because how could he present you with anything less than what you deserve?

When the few words he has managed to scrawl across the page begin laughing at him, he snatches up the parchment, letting his flames consume his failures. Back to the drawing board.

He paces around for a while, boots thudding across the floor of your shared home while his eyes dart to and from the clock. He doesn’t have much time left before you’re home.

He can’t exactly take you out for dinner or a movie. He can’t show his face in public. Though, that’s always seemed to work out okay; you seem to enjoy your quiet nights at home.

He stops pacing, eyes drifting to the kitchen as a soft smile spreads across his scarred lips. Some of your best memories have been made right there. That’s when it dawns on him.

It doesn’t have to be something ostentatious or over-the-top. Your love wasn’t like that anyway. It was something comfortable and warm. Cozy and familiar. It was like coming home to a place neither of you ever wanted to leave. To a home void of pain or hatred and full of nothing but trust and adoration.

He wants you to feel nothing but love today, but he’s been loving you all along, so he settles for sticking to what he knows, give or take a few cheesy indulgences.

There’s a delicious aroma in the air when you swing the door open and you follow your nose all the way to the kitchen. That’s when your eyes catch sight of your boyfriend hard at work in the kitchen—in nothing but an apron.

“Touya,” you clasp your hand over your mouth, heat rushing to your cheeks while a giggle that you can’t fight off escapes your throat. “Baby, what are you doing?”

“Cooking,” he shrugs, nonchalant as he always is, though the corner of his mouth quirks up in an amused smirk upon seeing your reaction. “Like what ya see, doll?”

“Of course I do,” you roll your eyes dramatically, smiling like an idiot as your traipse into the kitchen, unable to stop yourself from taking in the view as you watch him tend to the pots of the stove. “But this isn’t very safe. There’s a reason people wear clothes when they cook, y’know.”

“What’s the worst that could happen?” He cocks a sarcastic brow, already looking too pleased with himself before the next words even leave his lips. “I might burn myself?”

“You think you’re funny, huh?” You quirk a brow in response as he turns around and shrugs again.

“Know so, dollface.”

“You sure do know a lot. Care to share any other tidbits of information with me?” You ask with a playful lilt in your voice, taking a step closer with intentions to reach out lightly spank his behind, but his hand is around your wrist before you have the chance.

He sets the wooden spoon down and spins on his heal, looking much like a predator who’s prey has fallen into their trap.

“I knew you wouldn’t be able to keep your hands off me,” he drawls, walking you backwards towards the kitchen counter to pin your hips against it with his own, his large hand still claiming your wrist and his lips growing ever closer to yours.

You’re helpless. Letting him guide you with no resistance, turning to putty in his stapled palms. Your eyes can’t help but study his lips, the way his tongue darts out to lick them before he chuckles again, deep and dark. Sinister, nearly. It sends a shiver down your spine that he does not miss.

He leans in closer and you close your eyes, anxiously awaiting his lips to crash into yours, but they don’t. Instead, you feel his hands catch your waist and suddenly you’re being lifted, plopped onto the kitchen counter where he makes himself comfortable between your legs and gently grabs your chin between his thumb and forefinger.

“You’ll have to wait for dessert, doll. Lemme make you dinner first. Think you can control your sweet tooth until then?” His smile is no longer teasing; it’s soft as he cards his fingers through your hair, gently guiding your head back while his long, warm fingers massage your scalp, melting away the stress of your day. “I don’t wanna get distracted from the plans I have for tonight.”

“Plans? Is that what all this is about?” You reluctantly tear your eyes away from him and spy the setup on the kitchen table. Tea light candles burning with blue flames. A small gift bag sitting underneath the centerpiece—a simple vase filled with your favorite flowers. “Touya,” you whisper, looking back to him with a soft pout on your lips and tears dancing in your waterline. “I thought you said you didn’t do Valentine’s Day.”

“I don’t, usually. But I’d do anything for you, doll,” he whispers back, finally leaning in to capture your lips, smiling coyly against them when the two of you part for air. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

ah yes !!! so i’m unsure of what ur preferred genres/tropes are so here’s some recs that are assuming u liked icebreaker lol i hope they fit !

omg check, please! by ngozi ukazu: it’s a (graphic novel) rec Easily given considering it’s also gay college hockey and id assume a lot of ppl who read icebreaker have already read check please- but if Miraculously u haven’t- it’s so good! it can be read as a comic online but the physical volumes have some extras worth seeing too imo. i also think that mickey and jaysen so closely resemble a certain 2 characters (not the MCS tho) from it that if u want similar content to icebreaker there’s them! and they share many other topics, like coming out, having a secret relationship for [blank] reasons, familial issues, going to the nhl, and mental health, so if u want a book that is closest to icebreaker then this one is ur best bet

darius the great duology by adib khorram: despite being about a teenage boy visiting family in iran (at least in the first one) and not at all about college hockey, these books are also good in that they have similar content ! i think it does a great job of diving into the MC’s mental health (and similarly how that affects the ppl around him) and the familial content and general disconnect (for a different reason here than in icebreaker) from them are also great! i wouldn’t rec this as romance even tho the MC is also gay just bc that aspect of his character is much more heavily explored in the second book! it’s sadder than icebreaker and again isn’t about hockey (tho soccer is pretty important) but omgcp is the happiest of these so far so it balances out

the field guide to the north american teenager by ben philippe: this is just a normal coming of age story for a teenage boy who moves to texas from canada. honestly had i not fallen for the cover on a random target run i probably wouldn’t have bought and read this but MAN was it worth it !! i love the narration and the MC is a Little annoying but it’s a story about Growth ! and since i was moving to TX soon myself when i read it i felt less alone in my situation too <3 but yeah i have a list of books i file under dude lit (i would probably help define this better in a post on it’s own) which i feel like if u liked how mickey was written this might also be your jam! not a book w a whole lot of romance to follow through tho jsyk

the henna wars by adiba jaigirdar: a book w a non male MC !! just bc most of my “similar to icebreaker” books are about men and i can’t handle sending out recs like that. anyway tho this standalone is about a girl in high school who has a business project and ends up being a rival to a different classmate who essentially chose the same concept for her project. if the rivalry (if u want to call it that) from icebreaker is what pulled you in, then this is your book! it’s wlw and the girls also have a similar plot involving coming out to school + family and keeping up w each other academically/in this project. plus! the MCs have a similar “we come from different worlds” aspect like mickey and jaysen !! if u want more wlw recs too i have a few they just aren’t similar enough to icebreaker for me to have them here lol (also def recommend hani and ishu’s guide to fake dating- which is also a wlw ya novel by jaigirdar)

the darkness outside us by eliot schrefer: now this. this book is Insane. legitimately i bought it off amazon bc i thought the synopsis was good and i was looking for a happy ending in a standalone sci-fi book and this ended up being So Much more. i don’t want to explain too much of the plot as it’s best experienced read w no major info going in, but essentially these two guys are on a spaceship and they have a mission to rescue someone! its marketed as a love story- which it most certainly has (and the relationship btw the MCs reminds me of icebreaker’s like. we are and aren’t rivals bc we’re on the same mission/team- but also in another way we Are bc xyz)- BUT the thing about this book is that it’s So Much More than just gay ppl in space and it genuinely took me on so many rushes of that feeling omg what will happen next that i cannot help but recommend it on this list of ya contemporary books lmao

wow thanks! that was a really in depth post about it you make good points! when I played I definitely got the sense that monika had encouraged sayori to kill herself and I didn’t get the sense of any remorse when natsuki or yuri died or got fucked up but I guess u do make some good points there about how she was just trying to make them less desirable rather than kill them. not, all i want for them is to die. she doesnt want to kill them. she wants to separate us from them so we are with Her, not them. things spiral out of control, but it was never her intention for things to get this bad. ntm its repeated over and over in this game how badly monika wants to die. she's hanging on by a thread, keeping on only because she wants to be with us, to be in contact with reality. this leads to really unfortunate circumstances but i really strongly believe everything in the text alludes to the fact she did Not want things to get this bad

ACT 3 INTRO:

imo this is all the proof needed to show that she really had no intention of ‘killing’ sayori and yuri. things spiraled out of control far beyond what she was capable of handling. 

her goals with making sayori more depressed and yuri more obsessive were, in here words “to just try to make them as unlikable as possible”. she didnt want her friends to brutally die!! she loved them q_q i feel like a lot of people really dont look at this specific part of what she says and take it to heart. its very telling for her character and important for understanding what she does and why she does it

ok so whats important here, is monika is essentially using us, the player, as a mirror in act 3? the things she says i believe, very strongly show her sense of uncertainty in her actions, and her fears of what if she could have done something else??

"even though you could have saved her, its technically not your fault she killed herself" reads SO much to me like shes trying to comfort herself with this, she doesnt want it to be her fault. nothings real, sayori's a character in a game. but she wishes so badly they could have just been normal girls living together.

OK SO LIKE. this is actual proof of Why she does everything she does. she's scared if she reaches out and tells us she's trapped in a game, we'll stop playing, we'll kill her. she tinkers with the game, trying to make herself look the best, trying to make us choose her, and nothing works. and this leads to her becoming frustrated and scared, and screwing with the game more and more desperately trying to do anything to save herself.

if you recall, in act 2, she gives you a poem which bluescreen the computer. this was actually an attempt she makes to escape the game q_q she never wanted to kill yuri, she never wanted things to escalate like that. she wanted to get out but she had no idea how to program her way out of the game, resulting in everything crumbling around her, and her friends dying.

my own route

hang on this one genuinely makes me so upset.

it very much relates back to how in the conversation about sayori's suicide, she's still clearly thinking about how things could be Different. shes thinking about how they could be normal. "I may not have needed to take such drastic measures to be with you. Maybe the rest of the club would still be around..." , and then immediately trying to convince herself it doesnt matter, and that she doesnt care.

its so so obvious shes hurting and she misses her friends. the additional "i really dont (miss them)" at the end really shows that shes desperately trying to convince herself that it was worth it, that she did everything she should have, and her friends dont matter. but they clearly do matter to her. she loved them (she couldnt even delete them if u recall)

also another important part about this monologue, a lot of people say she killed the other girls out of jealousy, but this shows thats not true??

"I think I would end up forcing you onto my route anyway." "It has less to do with me not having a route, and more to do with me knowing that nothing is real."

this wasnt because shes 'in love' with us. she wanted to be close to something real, something tangible. she's clinging onto us, the player character, like someone lost at sea with a piece of driftwood, doing everything she can to stay afloat

1) I DON'T CARE if you think 14 year olds can't be in love. I'm not watching ST for its realism, I just want my babies to be happy

2) "mike and eleven's break up was so colorful and upbeat, so clearly they don't love each other" pREpARE tO BE TOLd

Eleven knows next to nothing about relationships, and most of what she DOES know (if not everything) she learns from max in those moments when max is convincing her to dump mike. Max tells el that she's dumped lucas like five (5) times, and he has always come crawling back. With how little el knows, she's probably thinking that's what will happen with Mike, she will dump him and he will come crawling back and all will good and whatever

"mike doesn't love el cos he didn't cry when she dumped him, also he just sits around in the basement eating cheetos and burping at lucas" while true, it could very be because MaYBE This dumping came out of NOwHERE, literally nowhere. They hadn't fought (yet), everything was fine (or so mike thinks), and then out of nowhere he just gets dumped?? Maybe he was just so shocked and confused that he wasn't registering it at first, mAYbE he was in denial, idk!!

6) "if mike loves el, why doesn't he say it back at the end of the season?"

*ahem* fIRST of all, because he already said it! SeCOnD of all, when she says it, she says "I love you too". You don't say it back to the person who is saying it back after you already said it once. It would just sound awkward. It doesn't matter that they both said it at different days/times, they can still both mean it

7) "why does mike avoid saying his feelings when el confronts him at the end?"

Picture this: you blurted out your feelings to the world, and then you find out mAYBE the person for whom you feel has heard it, but you don't know for sure, and they don't say it back. Then that person confronts you about saying it. AND you're a fuckin teenager!! You're probably going to be awkward and weird about it, and you might try to pretend you have no idea what they're talking about bc maybe if they don't feel the same way, you can just brush the whole thing off as a joke or pretend it never happened

8) "mileven's relationship is toxic/unhealthy, all they do is make out" -> they. Are. Teenagers. They're probly horny as fuck, aLSO who's to say they didn't talk and get to know each other over the MaNY mONthS separating seasons 2 and 3?
