I feel a lot of Subarein (be shipping or platonic) fics that don't involve Subaru-Heinkel interactions are missing a good character building opportunity, because the two are stated Word Of God to be very similar and a lot of drama (and angst) can be drawn out of the relationship they would develop through Reinhard (especially when you add in the possible projection and Subaru sharing traits with Wilhelm and maybe Louanna - as a treat and how fun that would be for Hein)

But also mostly because I personally feel Heinkel being the world's most ineffectual "disapproves of your boyfriend" hateful in-law to ever hatefully in-law would be the height of pure comedic potential and we need something to balance out Wilhelm thinking his surrogate grandson is too good for his estranged one
