fun fact i have a fake comic cat. my childhood best friend and i were huge collectors, though she was more into it than i was (richer family + generally more passionate abt it). i was obsessed with the comic cat (a youtuber i really loved had one and i thought it was the coolest lps to ever exist) but i'd thought it was rlly expensive n my parents refused to get me one so i was super sad abt my severe lack of comic cat

then comes my ninth birthday (i think it was my ninth?? time is weird for me sorry </3) n my best friend tells me she has a really special gift for me. i get excited bc she's always been a REALLY good gift-giver n i'm nine and like getting stuff. idk what i was expecting tbh, but it was NOT a whole-ass comic cat. i remember cradling it in my hands so gently like a wounded baby bird and almost crying bc i loved it so much. she didn't even wrap it, just pulled it out of her bag and handed it to me. when i asked her how much it cost n how long it took to save up for it she just looked at me a little weird and said "it was like twenty dollars on ebay". i was STUNNED bc again. i could've sworn it was super fucking expensive

later on i kinda caught on that it wasn't authentic bc of certain aspects of it (colours being slightly off, head not being as loose as i'd seen real ones' be, not made of the same material as other lps from that time), but honestly?? i genuinely could not care less. i named her justice and she's moved houses with me four times and is standing proud and happy with the rest of my most precious collection on my bookshelf. that friend and i don't talk anymore (nothing happened we just lost contact) but i have a lot of reminders of her presence in my life n justice is one of them
