why was i like that (tl;dr in tags)

today i clicked on sgc's ig profile and saw that they use they/them pronouns now. and it makes me want to cry.

bc even tho we Literally went to high school together-ish (they were 3yrs after me?) we had such different experiences.

i was a Girl who hung out with guys who didn't respect me, went out with a boyfriend who was nice to me, and was too shy / awkward / busy being that shy nerd stereotype [1] that i had no "deep friendship". you could ask anyone anything about me and they wouldn't know the answer! and i wouldn't know anything about them!! [2] bc we were a small class (169) and everyone in town was a mix of neighbor and cousin, i got my invites to parties and dances, but i overall felt like i was on autopilot. i don't remember my life until i was ~16 [3]!! why!!!

i think a lot about how dr uju anya had a whole husband and child but over time realized she was a lesbian. not to parasocialize too much with this academic weapon, but i feel like i also had this experience (to a much smaller / younger degree). and i feel so sad thinking about how i could've saved so much pain in high school if i had just known i wasn't wired to like guys like that [4].

and i remember lindie [5], someone who's ~30 now and has been with her now-husband since she was ~13. one day we had a good phone call (post-hs-graduation) and she told me that for literally everyone else she could possibly see romantically / sexually, she's a lesbian. but she and her husband have literally Grown Up together. her love for him is something that goes beyond platonic / romantic / sexual attraction. it's a life partnership in every sense of the term.

this phone conversation lit a lightbulb in my summer 2019 brain. i knew that this high school bf of mine could be a life partner. we started dating when i was 11 or 12 and !!! we both saw each other grow up (at least to some degree). but something in the pit of my stomach told me i couldn't live a lie like that. it wouldn't be fair to him for me to have this self-discovery and just .. continue as if it didn't happen?

and so when someone said that dr. uju's pre-lesbian marriage was "sad" bc she didn't know she was a lesbian, i got (in my head) defensive. bc "it's totally possible to be happy and ignore this part of yourself!" (it's not).

for the longest time i told myself that being bisexual was the easiest sexuality to have bc i knew i liked women and i could always just end up with a guy to make my family happy, if i had to, ya know? i got mentally defensive when ppl online said that "invisibility is not a privilege" and "biphobia is real" bc i was subconsciously using this label as a way to hide the fact that the mere thought of a life with a man made me anxious / nauseous / scared.

and boy did that fear kick into overdrive anytime i was around a guy. if he even smiled at me, i'd go a little silly. it didn't even matter if he was straight, bi, ace, gay, or anything, i'd just latch onto the fact that it was a Man talking to me and i couldn't stop thinking about them and any comment they made that made them seem bored / annoyed at me made me spiral about my self-worth. but if there was ever a case that i Thought they even Maybe had an interest in me, i'd get nauseous again. to this day i feel like i still put guys up on a pedestal so i just have ... no guy friends [6].

this novel is a silly way of saying the following things.

(death + suicide mentioned in this footnote) she was the french teacher that replaced my old french teacher after she died, and lindie really suffered for us. bc it was a catholic school, she was forced to cover up her tattoos, and she had to wear longer clothes (admin always told her to cover up even when she was wearing Long Clothes). she went through so much (miscarriage, lost here sense of self, etc.) and was literally suicidal but she still showed up for us. one of my fav teachers and an inspiration to this day.

to answer ur question, yes he’s very handsome, he’s very tall, and he goes to the gym and……. welllllllll i shouldnt be thirsty on main but GAWDDDAMN he can literally headlock me n i’d say thankyou (LORDDDD IS THIS WHO I AM NOW) but yeah 😝 the first time we hungout, we’ve barEly talked, but long story short i got drenched bcs we went to a golf driving range AND THE SPRINKLERS TO WATER THE GRASS TURNED ON OUT OF NOWHERE AND I WALKED INTO IT 💀 he then offered me his shirt and it just started spiralling after that ehe (🤢 i folded 🤢)

we’ve recently been going on dates and he picks me up to go to campus even though he lives literally 5 minutes away from campus and i live 30 minutes away from campus 💀 like he spends an HOUR driving just to go to me and take me to campus then drives another hour to take me home and go back to hiS house almost everyday and he’s just…. so sweet. he’d open his car door for me all the time, never lets me pay for anything (we literally physically BRAWL in front of every cashier of every restaurant we’ve eaten in bcs i also insist in paying), is such a SHYYY person but gets loud whenever hes with me and texts with emojis with me, always waits for me anytime EVERYTIME, sends me tiktoks of cats bcs it reminds him of me, is allergic to cats but has FOUR who he loves veeery much, and thinks of the cutest activities for the both of us to do :’-)

also, one time i got him his favorite coffee (that he drinks. every. single. day.) and he literally couldnt stop going MMMMMMMM THIS COFFEE IS SO GOOD everytime he takes a sip and i was like… bro it’s the coffee u drink everyday tho????? and he went sorry it just tastes sm better bcs u got it for me 😔 AND I WENT AKAKKANFNDJSBJSJSSJNS !!!!!!!!! there’s so many things about him i could tell u but oops i realized i literally just wrote a 3 page essay about him 🧍‍♀️

tldr: nothing important

just knowing you might have adhd without the official diagnosis, and no means to even get one bc where you live in doesn't take mental health seriously, is so frustrating.

i relate to most of the adhd behaviours described online. i cannot regulate my attention. my recent hyper-fixation lasted almost an entire semester and i barely scraped through all the other subjects other than the ones i was really interested in. i also lose focus easily in class unless I'm writing every word they say down. executive dysfunction is an everyday thing. i cannot stop scrolling on the internet even though i mentally list all the better things i could be doing rather than waste time every 10-15 minutes. I'm easily bored and have had meltdowns in the past so yes i 98% think i have adhd probably a bit of anxiety as well.

but without the official diagnosis my imposter syndrome makes it so difficult to live guilt free. theres always stupid thoughts in my head saying if I'm just exaggerating things (i know I'm not) but it's so hard to shut down the voice and i go into a spiral thinking if I'm just being lazy, not working hard enough to get things done on time, not trying to remember important schedules or assignments, not trying complete my assignments or homeworks or reading until the very last minute.

my issues with memory also make it incredibly hard to recall anything other than some specific instances of my childhood and everybody (esp my mom) remembers a different version of me bc i lived in a boarding school from 11-16(until covid) and i was extremely high functioning. i used to ace tests without having to read too much and my boarding school had a very strict routine that made it easy bc i knew what i was supposed to do every minute of the day but when 11th grade came around everything changed even though i was still in the same boarding setup. i suddenly didnt do well in tests bc i hadn't needed to until then. so i don't know who i was, i don't know who i am or who I'm supposed to be.

i did nothing productive during the covid year couldn't concentrate in class. i read hp fanfics all day. i couldn't even read new books, or watch tv shows or pick up a hobby or learn a language (which is an interest of mine), nothing other than reading about the same people fall for each other in a thousand different au's. this was a very important stage in my student life and i didn't give university exams properly. i can't regret it bc i don't even think about it. i don't think about anything concrete but my mind is always busy.

(i don't even know where i was going with this. does this qualify as trauma dump?)

i see people with the same problems on the internet and it does relieve me to a certain extent but there's always doubt clawing at me. also bc in just 2 years I've to get a job and i hear how office spaces are not accomodating enough for nd folks and it's scary. i also don't really like the job profile very much but it's also bc i have no real direction in life. i dream about having a book cafe but it's not sustainable nor fair to my family ig.

sundays are not fun when you're in an existential crisis (if this even qualifies as one) and i have homework to do that I could've done anytime between the last 30 hours which I've procrastinated against doing until now.

a/n: Hello everyone and welcome to the last chapterrr!! That's right, our journey ends here! Sorry for the late update, i was really sick the last few days and I couldn't come up with a few parts of the story. So apologies! But I hope you all will enjoy the final installment and as always, please let me know your thoughts!

"So now you're going to follow me wherever I go?" You take a peek at Jihoon who strolls with you, hands in his pockets as he hums a tune.

"Not really. I'm gonna walk with you when you go to class and return home."

"Gee, thanks, Mr. Bodyguard."

"You're welcome, princess."

The pet name makes your insides swoon as you avert your gaze from him. "Are you sure you're not busy?"

"I'm never too busy for you," he throws a cocky smile at you as you push him playfully.

"Oh, look, your idiot friends are waiting for you. I better get going, don't wanna loose braincells," Jihoon makes a face and you laugh, murmuring a bye to him as he abruptly turns around and disappears into a nearby alley. As you approach Seokmin and Hoshi they watch you with curious eyes and you know you've got some explaining to do.

You and Jihoon fall into a routine after that, him walking with you in morning as you go to your class and in the evening when you return. He seems to appear right on time everyday and you wonder how he can be so precise.

One day after your classes finish Jihoon accompanies you to the supermarket where he starts filling up your cart with his favourite snacks and ramen as soon as you reach the isle.

"Jihoon!" You bat his hand away. "Are you crazy? Do you know how much all these will cost!"

Jihoon looks around before leaning closer to you and snickers, "Don't worry." You frown at his conspirational gaze before you see a full bundle of cash appear on his hand out of thin air.

Oh my god.

"What the fuck!" You choke, a bit too loudly as the other customers give you looks. Jihoon smirks at your baffled state.

"You can make money appear out of thin air?!" You whisper yell, staring at his palm with wide eyes.

"Hmm, maybe. Now don't get any ideas, sweetheart," he grins at you and you flush.

No no no. You won't be greedy. You won't ask for money from him.

Clearing your throat you speak, "Whatever. Since you can make money appear out of nowhere, you will be paying for whatever you buy."

"Alright, sweetheart."

After buying way too much food which fills both your hands with bags, you two return home. Following a shower you start making dinner while Jihoon sits in front of the TV with an opened packet of chips, eyes focused on the drama playing.

At times like these you feel so comfortable, so secure like you have been living with him forever. You know how domestic this is yet can't bring yourself to care as you watch Jihoon with fond eyes. In the back of your mind you wonder how you will live when, eventually, he's gone. The thought doesn't sit well with you so you push them aside and call him to the table. As you serve dinner, Jihoon takes a seat, murmuring something about the ongoing drama he seems really invested in.

In relative silence you both start eating, Jihoon slurping his favourite ramen loudly while you play around with the omelette in your plate.

"What is it like in hell?" You ask suddenly. Jihoon raises a brow at you.

"Just curious," you murmur, shy. "What is it that you do in hell, exactly?"

Jihoon hums, resting his hands underneath his chin. "Well, for starters I torture souls. One of my favourite, well probably my favourite thing to do." He grins wickedly, making you shiver. "Other than that it's pretty boring. I do paperwork and make sure everything is in order."

"Oh."

He laughs at your reaction. "But I have started to prefer earth over hell. I mean, it doesn't get boring here. Maybe because I've been summoned after such a long time, I don't know. It's fun."

"Yeah, it is." You mutter dryly, wondering what nuisances he has caused to people. Jihoon continues, "Only downside is that my powers can't be used to their full potential here. You know, because of some divine rules He made." He makes a show off rolling his eyes.

You marvel how powerful he must really be when he fully uses his powers. "But you still have more than enough to traumatize people here, so I think it's fine," you make a snarky reply and he snorts.

"Well, what's the fun if I don't spread around some fear?" He grins.

You roll your eyes, "Shut up, you evil thing."

"Hmm, I maybe evil, but you seem to be liking me just fine."

"Me? Liking you? Never!" You scoff, standing up and marching away from the table with your dinner. Taking a seat on the sofa you yell, "You'll be doing the dishes, you demon!"

"Whatever makes my master happy," he gives you a flirty smile.

Over the next few weeks, you and Jihoon fall into a comfortable routine. Sometimes he'd cook; even though the only he thing he could make was ramen and sometimes you would. You'd take turns on doing dishes, laundry, cleaning and all other chores, like real roommates. Some nights you two would watch a movie together while other nights you would play board games together, which he would win by cheating unashamedly. Just like that you become close, making jokes and pranking each other all day, forgetting the real reason he was here in the first place.

But at some nights you'd think of him while you laid awake in your bed, thoughts so dirty that you would never admit out loud. He would still appear in your dreams but now less frequent than before. And after spending your time in such proximity to Jihoon you soon realize you're attracted to him and the thought of having sex with him doesn't repulse you anymore, if not make you drool. And drool you often, especially when Jihoon walks around in a tight tee, sometimes sleeveless and it gives the perfect view of his thick arms and solid chest. You don't hesitate to ogle him because well, he's such a view. The man is built like a fucking truck and you wander how it would feel if he railed you—

Your thoughts are interrupted as Jihoon laughs loudly at the movie playing on the TV, nudging your side as he shakes in laughter. Like every other night you have zoned out, too busy thirsting over Jihoon in your head to stay grounded in reality. You sigh to yourself.

You really need some dick.

"You alright?"

"Huh? Yeah, yeah I am."

Jihoon watches you with narrow eyes before pausing the movie. "What's up with you? You've been weird these days."

"Did I hear that right?" He asks, more to himself.

"Wow."

"That's all you have to say?!" You gasp, offended. "I thought you were desperate to have your dick in me.

Jihoon winces at your choice of words but agrees, "Yeah, I am. But this is so sudden. I wasn't expecting you to say that."

"Yeah, me neither."

For a while, you two sit in silence like dumbasses, staring hard at the floor. The air is awkward and in your head the horny part of you is going crazy, making you want to jump on top of him and get what you want. However, you sit there, frozen, like him.

"Are you sure?" Jihoon asks after a long while and you turn to meet his eyes. There's that red glow in them, his gaze heated, fierce and it sends heat right down your core. But he also looks somewhat unsure, chewing on his lower lip which makes you smile. You say, "Yes, my dear devil. I'm sure. Put your hotdog in my bun."

Oh holy lord.

Is this the effect of being horny all day and night? You cringe at yourself but his reaction has you laughing.

"Oh my Satan! What the fuck has gotten into you!" He bellows covering his ears. "Well, get down to business or I shall continue," you threaten with a smirk. He watches you warily for a while but you can't take it anymore so you take off your top in one smooth motion and immediately your devil's eyes land on your tits. Smiling at his reaction you make a show of taking off your bra before you loose your boldness and just as the material comes off, Jihoon groans, diving right into your tits, pushing both of you onto the sofa.

Stopping for a moment Jihoon sits up and takes off his t shirt, revealing his glorious, godly body to you.

You wake up to the clatter of pots and pans from probably the most peaceful sleep of your life. Dazed, you blink a few times, processing everything. You are dressed in a tee and sleep shorts even though you remember passing out naked last night.

Face heating up at the thought, you shake your head and scramble out of the bed with shaky legs. After last night you seem to have a problem walking straight. Freshening up when you pad into your kitchen with rather awkward steps, you see Jihoon setting up the table for breakfast. As soon as he sees you he flashes a wide grin, "Good morning, sweetheart! I made ramen for breakfast, hope you don't mind. Though it's a little late for breakfast."

"Morning," you whisper in a timid voice, feeling unbelievably shy as you sit down on a chair gently.

"You're walking funny." Jihoon observes with a grin making you want to hide in embarrassment.

"Shut up!"

Smiling cheekily, he sits opposite to you and blows on his ramen before starting to eat. You do the same, taking nibbles of the noodles in silence.

"How do you feel? I wasn't too rough, was I?" Jihoon asks his eyes raking over your body before stopping on the marks littered all over your neck and shoulders.

"N-no. You were great," heat flames your face. "I'm fine, I mean."

Nodding, he goes back to eating. You two eat in silence until he questions you all of a sudden. "You okay? What's wrong?"

"Huh? W-what do you mean?"

"You're...quiet. There's something different about you. Is this related to last night? Did I do something wrong?"

His concern warms your heart and in the back of your mind you wonder how can a demon be so...nice. Swallowing, you set down your chopsticks before meeting his eyes. "You're gonna leave now, no?"

"What?"

"We had sex so...you can leave now right?"

"Yes...do you want me to leave right now?"

"No!" You immediately jump from your seat and grab onto his hand. "No, I don't want you to leave. Not right now, I mean." You whisper, trying to mask the desperation in your voice.

In the past few months, you have grown attached to Jihoon. Sure, he's a fucking demon and everything but living with him has been so easy and comfortable, like you've been doing so for years. Now that he's about to leave you don't feel so good anymore. Maybe you have some deeper feelings for the demon which you are too coward to address but aside from everything, you don't want him to be gone.

Shit, how the tables have turned. You laugh at yourself.

"What's going on in your head, ___?" Jihoon raises a brow at you. The man seems to be able read you like an open book. Or maybe he can just read minds.

"Nothing." You wave your hand dismissively.

"Whatever it is, if you just tell me, I can ease your worries, you know."

Silently you gape at him, contemplating your next words.

"I... don't want you to leave," your voice is a breath above a whisper. You wait for his reply but nothing comes, only silence. Tentatively you meet his gaze to see him shocked. He sits there frozen for a while before a huge smile appears in his face. "Is that what you are worried about, baby?"

You nod your head slowly.

Jihoon stands up and comes over to you reaching for your hands as he kneels in front of you, "I don't want to leave either, sweetheart. And I won't. I'll stay here, with you."

You blink. "W-what do you mean?"

"Well," he shrugs. "I wish I could stay here 24/7 but you know I have my duties. To put it simply, I won't return to hell permanently like before. I'll take little trips there but at night I'll stay here with you and in the morning when you wake up I'll be there too." He gives you a sweet smile, his eyes forming crescents.

"R-really?"

"Yes baby, really. Does that ease your worries?"

You nod furiously, a happy smile spreading through your face as you wrap your wraps around his neck. You hear Jihoon laugh as he pets your back softly.

"Who knew you'd go all soft for me, baby."

The next day you wake up to find Jihoon dressing up in his infamous red suit and pants; the one he wore when he first showed up. Immediately, you know what that indicates.

"You're leaving?"

"Aw sweetheart, stop pouting. I'll be back as soon as my works are done. Think of it as me going on a business trip." He soothes you.

"To hell, yeah," you murmur. Laughing, Jihoon sits next to you and reaches for your hand. Opening your palm, he drops a silver necklace into it. It has a beautiful ruby red stone on the pendant and as if magnetised, you brush your thumb over it, inspecting it closely.

"This is so beautiful. What is this?"

"A gift," Jihoon takes the trinket from your hand and puts it around your neck. "Whenever you need me just hold onto it and call my name three times."

"It's like summoning bloody Mary," you snort. He grins, stroking your cheek softly with his thumb. Fiddling with the locket, you ask him the question that has been on the back of your mind for a while, "Will you be having sex with other people?"

Jihoon lets out a boisterous laugh, clutching his belly as you roll your eyes at his reaction. He smirks, "Why? Is my baby jealous?"

"No! Of course not!" You scoff, averting your gaze. Holding your chin, he turns your face towards him. "Don't worry, darling, I'm all yours."

His words make heat spread all through your body like a wildfire and you swoon inwardly. You bite your lip, "G-good, then."

Smirking, Jihoon inches closer to your face before pressing his lips against yours. One of his hands wraps around your waist tightly while the other holds your cheek as his tongue enters into your mouth, exploring every inch. Breathlessly, he devours you like you're his last meal before pulling back and staring at your swollen lips.

"Be a good girl while I'm gone."

Out of breath, you can only swallow and nod at his commanding voice before he presses one last kiss one your forehead. Standing up, he buttons his suit jacket before turning around, ready to take his leave. Just when you expect him to disappear into thin air he turns around and says.

"Oh, and ___? I love you."

With a wink, he's gone.

- also since this is a modern au i dont think she would have such an obsession with food as she does in the canonverse (if we can even call it an obsession) i still think she would have a big appetite (and she'd be proud of it tf 😏🙏) but i just dont see her always being hungry as the fandom makes her out to be

- really likes to hold hands with you

- i think itd be really cute if she was studying to become a baker ?? maybe taking a culinary course at the university you two attend ?? maybe you somehow met there or through a friend

- i think she'd still be insecure about her accent (ig if this is au is set in america she'd be from the south 😐🤚) and would speak kind of like a robot to people she didn't know that well

- connie and jean ALWAYS bring out her accent tho,, like with them she can really be herself

- it just becomes niccolo and marco trying to dissolve the situation before it gets physical, and then reiner and armin joining when they walk directly into the chaos

- armin tells you what happened and as much as youre thankful that sasha cares about you so much that she'd defend you like that, you lecture her, jean and connie on not making scenes like that again

- sasha's love language is kind of like,, a mixture of quality time and physical touch

- she just really loves spending time with you, but also very much enjoys being in your arms

- she doesnt shy away from it, and is usually the one to initiate those things

- will hold your hand PROUDLY down hallways or on streets

- always hypes you up too, shes very much so your personal hypeman

- "oh lovebug you look SO GOOD rn oh my god" "sasha pls im in my pyjamas" "and you look like a model baby !"

- sasha is very stubborn however, and if you guys ever fight she is NEVER the one to apologize first, or seek you out to talk about it

- even if shes in the wrong she cant bring herself to admit it, she dug herself into such a deep hole with the stance she took that she doesnt want to take the walk of shame in admitting that she wasnt right

- this can cause a lot of problems in your relationship, but after you explain how much it affects you, shes trying to change

- will always work on her stubborn-ness and pride

- and it actually makes her feel a lot better being able to admit defeat, or being wrong

- she really likes being communicative and honest, especially with you

- i think overall your relationship with sasha is very very fun, filled with good memories, good food, good friends, and most importantly, love.

Nico back at it again with only the stupidest Imaginary asks- how would each of the holders react to someone giving them a hug? (This has nothing to do with my desire to give Sixth a hug and you can't prove anything)

once again im ranting about my characters no im not sorry i love them okay

First: hugs is the equivalent of recharging his batteries lol. He’s very shy about getting them but when it’s from people he trusts he absolutely loves it. all hugs are appreciated. It makes him feel loved. Very soft reactions. Bundle of joy. Will always reciprocate. he is touch starved from The OG Vaulting, he just wants healthy attention. however he can only do hugs in short bursts bc otherwise he gets fidgety. afo had a bad habit of having prolonged hugs and first doesn’t like to be reminded of him.

Second: He’s a bit more finicky about hugs because he’s super averse to touch. even with ppl he really cares about, it’s tough for him to accept hugs or any prolonged physical contact. (his physical signs of affections are usually limited to high fives, ruffling hair, and his horrible habit of tucking someone’s hair behind their ear look im not saying its bc of first but im totally saying its bc of first, he has such long hair that always gets into his eyes what do you EXPECT OKAY). if a hug is absolutely necessary and it comes from either First or his four five kids (Third, Crimson Riot, Sixth, Izuku Dabi) then he’ll put up with it. usually he’ll just give awkward head pats in return, unless he’s been scared out of his mind that those particular people couldve been in danger, in which case he might reciprocate hugs. if a hug is not necessary he’ll usually throw the hug-offender off of him (First and Izuku are the only exceptions. He’ll shimmy his way out of their grip)

Third: surprise. he likes hugs but he doesn’t know what to do with his arms because hugs?? physical contact?? how does one human?? but give him a bit and he’ll figure it out. he doesn’t crave hugs nearly as much as First but he still appreciates them. a lot. he tries not to get outwardly emotional with hugs to the best of his ability (hugs remind him of his brother), so he tends to internalize it. still, hugs are very soothing for him. he’s the type to thank someone after being given a hug.

Fourth: cold glares. he will not give a single warning before he grabs the hug offender by the back of their shirt and shoves them away. there are two people he will tolerate hugs from, and one of them is Third and its a fifty-fifty chance. usually Third has to piss him off before he can sneak a hug in—and the hug is in no shape or form a measure of affection.

Fifth: hugs?? hugs! HUGS!! Fifth will take hugs from anyone anytime anywhere. he will not hesitate to get/reciprocate hugs from anyone. suffer under the weight of his love and affections and far too much strength, he has so much and he’ll always take more. also be wary that he might twirl a hug offender in the air. he has no little to no self restraint.

Sixth: BABY. child. baby. he doesn’t like surprise hugs (i mean. not like he can be that surprised due to his quirk, unless he’s in the middle of really deep thought or panicking and not focused). he also doesnt like hugs from people he doesnt know well. hes a “class clown” but, tbh, he’s not actually that,,, sociable?? ig?? with people he doesnt know well/who have questionable trustworthiness. like Second he’s a bit averse to hugs, though that’s more due to his wariness than anything else. BUT if he gets a hug from someone who he trusts and it isnt a surprise—!!! soft. baby. child. touch starved. he will stay in a hug for as long as the other person is in it, meaning that yes it might be uncomfortably long but can you blame him??? (unless he’s in A Thing and then otherwise if a hug is too long he’ll get anxious, but that’s not the norm.) if its an emotional hug He Will Cry But In An Unnoticeable Way. he isn’t sure if he deserves hugs but he Wants Them. he will Take Them. please give this child hugs.

Seventh: nana!!! lovely mentor!! her opinion on the matter is very much, “what’s a hug going to do me wrong?” it’s not her go-to source of comfort and affection but when it comes down to it she will accept them gleefully.

Eighth: toshi!! i mean. he’s awkward and socially isolated so it’ll be a while before he warms up to hugs.

Ninth: izuku, obviously. he deserves hugs. he knows he deserves hugs. he’s aware he’ll get hugs at least twice a day from different holders. he will always take hugs. hand your arms over, he needs to fill his daily requirement in.

honestly i am........ too lazy to make this a nice bio so plz forgive me for settling on bullet points ,, but at least that’s less reading for you !!!!

mckenna’s father is from wales and works as a plastic surgeon for the rich and fabulous and her mother is from new york and works a beautician and stylist for celebrities . together they had 5 children in total , the kid in the very middle being kenna . the family spent most of her childhood living in wales before moving to new york just before mckenna started high school

all of her siblings are really talented . it must be in their genes or something to have an affinity for the arts . her older brother is in a popular band . her older sister is a principal dancer . her younger sister is an incredible painter . and her younger brother is like six so he’s still coming into his own but there’s no doubt that he’ll be a prodigy at something

and what about mckenna ??? well she tried following in her brother’s footsteps by learning a bunch of instruments but none of them clicked . after that she tried to take dance classes with her sister but it was clear to see that she had two-left feet . she could barely draw a perfect circle , so painting like her younger sister was out of the question too . eventually she tried to pursue an acting career , auditioning for tv shows and movies but never booking anything more than a handful of commercials

so she spent a majority of her life feeling pretty inadequate compared to her siblings . she just wanted to be good at something , anything really . and she wanted to be praised for it . luckily , she eventually found her thing . though it was sorta unconventional : kenna figured out that she’s good at makeup . it’s basically an art form in itself and since she had the time on her hands to practice , she got pretty good at it

she started posting her looks on social media , gaining a little bit of attention on her instagram and later even starting a youtube channel ( at the time it was called pinkglitter2234 bc she was like 13 and cringey ). doing makeup and making youtube videos was her new favorite pass time and pretty much all she did throughout high school . kids in her school started recognizing her as “the the girl who talks funny and makes youtube videos” ,, so that’s pretty cool ig

it really wasn’t until her senior year that her channel gained a serious following . by the time she graduated she worked her way up to 1m subscribers and just a few hundred thousand away from having 1m on instagram too . CRAZY . and since youtube had become a serious job to her that she wanted to continue doing , she figured that she’d take a gap year off just to focus on that and building her personal brand . so she moved out and got an apartment in the city , paid for all by herself ( though mommy and daddy’s money certainly helped furnish it with all her lavish stuff ) and got to WORK

that ONE gap year turned into a gap... three years ??? she never applied to university and honestly she doesn’t plan to anytime soon ! her social media career has never been more poppin’ tbh . she has like over 8m subscribers on her main channel ( now called makeupmckenna ) and just a little bit under that on her vlog channel . she’s had various partnerships with different makeup brands , colourpopcosmetics , morphe , and lancôme just to name a few . on her channel she also does fashion / styling videos , which has gained her attention from several brands that have sent her pieces to promote and invited her to see their shows at fashion week and whatnot . big money moves basically !!

okay now for her secret : basically ,, kenna is hard-working don’t get me wrong , but she’s also obsessed with increasing her following and is willing to do anything if it means signal boosting herself and becoming more successful . so basically , at one point she made a fake account that posed as one of her “haters” “exposing” her-- and since no publicity is bad publicity , it got more people talking about her and following her . she even made a sob story youtube video in response to the “hate” she was getting and the rumours that were sparking because of it . the account has since been deleted but that doesn’t mean that the screenshots of the rumours aren’t still circulating the internet . it’s been a few years since the “scandal” but that doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t get talked about from time to time

P E R S O N A L I T Y & F U N F A C T S ↴

personality-wise : kenna is a sweetheart ! at least on the outside ! like she lowkey has selfish motives sometimes when it comes to gaining online popularity , but outside of social media she is genuine and goofy and a good friend i swear . would give you the designer clothes off her back if you’re close to her . also affectionate because she’s from a big family that actually has a healthy relationship with each other ( minus kenna’s minor jealousy she used to harbor as a kid... she’s kinda grown out of it now as a young-adult who’s successful in her own right ) so she loves to love . super materialistic though . loves shiny things and owning the newest trendy stuff . definitely thinks that money can buy happiness and she’s super stubborn so you cannot convince her otherwise . loves attention , will do just about anything to get it but if it doesn’t fit her “pristine girl next door” image then she’ll have to do it in secret . and since she has made a name for herself as being “innocent” , she doesn’t party too much . just not a big fan of that lifestyle

just bc she never went to college DOES NOT MEAN that my girl is dumb .. she actually likes to keep learning new things by constantly reading and trying out new skills . she’s v much a jack of all trades but a master at none . minus her ability to beat her face and talk to a camera lol

Favorites: What types of books do you enjoy? Tell about what you’ve read recently (Or maybe about a book you hated recently!)I like spec-fic and sci-fi, although less “hard” science fiction, and I also enjoy fantasy. I read a lot of YA even though I’m in my 30s just because it seems easy to find a story I want to read and I’m not usually in the mood for dense prose.

I’ve been rereading the Wheel of Time series since it’s getting an Amazon TV show; it was my first non-LOTR fantasy series and I love it to death, warts and all, although I love joking about the weak points with other people who’ve read it. I think the last other thing I read was A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, which was a queer YA historical fiction, and it was a lot of fun. I wish I’d had access to all these queer stories when I was an actual teenager, but better late than never.

What types of music do you like to listen to? Share five songs from your music library. I really do like a bit of everything, although I gravitate towards certain genres more often depending on the season or time of day, so I’m going to cheat and pick 5 per season. Do you have a favorite part of your self care/beauty/health routine? I haven’t been doing it much lately since I’ve been dealing with some uncertain health issues with my joints (actually have a rheumatologist appointment later today), but savasana after a long yoga workout is borderline ecstasy.

What’s your favorite type of exercise/physical activity? I have a love-hate relationship with running. I don’t actually love it but I love how I feel after. I really enjoy yoga. I love playing in the water at the beach, bodyboarding and swimming.

HATE IT. I like shoveling snow sometimes, though.

What extracurriculars did/do you do in school? In high school, I played trumpet in band until the band got dissolved from lack of funding. I played soccer one year, was in a play another year. We had an art club for like a semester that I was in. In university the first time round, I did step dancing and intramural hide and seek Second time around, I was in the linguistics club to help with assignments. (We were very much encouraged to work in pairs or groups for a lot of different classes. The only thing was that you did need to list your group members on the assignment so the prof knew who you worked with. My first morphology class in particular, we had a whole homework club where a huge portion of the class got together to work through assignments and help each other understand, and the prof would quite often show up. </tangent>

How’s your quarantine/last few months been? The cabin fever was really bad before the weather warmed up. I struggle with seasonal depression every spring, and it’s gotten much worse since we moved to Edmonton because of how long the winters are. (Snow from September to May/June? Fucccck.) It’s frankly horrifying to look at what’s going on in the US, but even though we have far fewer cases here, I’m really anxious that we’ll see another wave soon. Otherwise, I think I’ve adjusted. Home-schooling, hand-sanitizing, social distancing, masks...All feels kind of normal now, which should maybe concern me.

What do you think of human nature/society/etc.? I am like the least philosophical person you will meet so I don’t think I really have many thoughts.

What’s something you are insecure about? Writing my L2 if a native speaker is gonna read it.

What do you think is the meaning of life/reason that humans exist in the universe? I don’t think there is one, and that doesn’t bother me.

Do you think you’re better (whatever that means to you) than you used to be? Definitely. My adolescence and early adulthood was rough. I was dealing with a lot of trauma, untreated bipolar disorder, and I self-harmed for a very long time. I could not imagine making it to 30, let alone being stable and happy. I actively avoided thinking about the future because it made me spiral. But I was lucky enough to get help, consistent help from a doctor I clicked with, and it made a world of difference. I think younger me would be disappointed at how mundane my life is, but I’m thrilled to be boring because boring means no life-upending mood episodes. I have a happy partnership and two delightful kids and I couldn’t ask for more.

What are your thoughts on religion? I’m not religious and my own experience being raised in the Catholic church was frankly traumatic, but I know that it’s a source of comfort and community for many others and I think that’s awesome for them.

Do you think that there are aliens out there? I think so, although I think that we may not even know what other kinds of life to look for and may not recognize it even if we find it.

What’s something that’s been on your mind recently? We’re moving cross-country in less than a month (driving, no less, nearly 5000 km) and I still have so much to do to get ready aosjdoajdoasijdoaijsd
