Long but cool 4th of July Freedom Seeds story, folks.

3 weeks ago @sockmonkeys-babygirl and I ordered a 200 count box of Winchester M855 Green Tip 5.56mm from our trusty online retailer. A day after the purchase a shipping label is generated. It sits for nearly a week. I light them up and they respond with an apology and the shipper telling me that a new label was created. I track the box the next day, and three days after that we receive it. Awesome.

Today we get a notification that 2 parcels were dropped in our lock boxes, despite having only one order inbound. The second package? Another 200 count box of M855's from the same retailer!

They didn't bill my card for our second box (my CC info isn't stored in my account)...it just showed up! I went over the reply order from them and it seems whenever they generate a new label it in turn causes a new order to be fulfilled!

Some early field-expedient solutions to extended magazines, devised during the Vietnam War to offset the limited capacity of the then-standard 20-round magazines for the M16 family of weapons. Created using captured Chinese "flat-back" AK magazines and modified to fit into an M16 magazine well (as well as modifications to the feed lips), these modified mags could hold 35 rounds of ammunition, nearly double the capacity of the standard magazine - however, anecdotal evidence suggests that sometimes only 30 rounds were loaded, likely to lessen feeding issues/jamming potential. This was a field expedient modification that largely ceased being implemented when proper 30 round M16 magazines were introduced in 1969 - 1970.
