New Yu Yu Hakusho prize figures were announced at the BANDAI SPIRITS 72nd Prize Fair. A preview of "Q posket" and "DXF-Toguro Brothers - 30th Anniversary" were displayed:
Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama "Q posket"
Q posket is a collectible figurine line created by Banpresto. With glossy eyes and charming cheeks, the finest quality and meticulous design are the essence of Q posket.
Yusuke and Kurama are scheduled to be released in November 2023, and Hiei in December 2023. Unfortunately, no Kuwabara T_T

DXF-Toguro Brothers - 30th Anniversary
Scheduled to be released in November 2023, Banpresto continues with the Yu Yu Hakusho DXF 30th Anniversary figures. After Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, Kuwabara, and Koenma, they are now announcing the Toguro Brothers.
It makes me wonder if they are also planning to create DXF figures of Youko Kurama, Itsuki and Sensui, since their commemorative illustrations are also part of the 30th Anniversary.

A set of tunnels puzzling Singapore, sparking numerous conspiracy theories about its origins since the late 20th century, has its mystery finally cracked. Located on Admiralty Road West and Marsiling Crescent, the World War II-era tunnels have remained hidden from sight since the British left Singapore.
Since the tunnels' discovery in the 2000s, multiple theories have been proposed about their origins. Some thought the tunnels led to Johor, or housed an underground facility for a nearby mental hospital. The most compelling theory was that the tunnel had been an underground oil storage facility built by the Asiatic Petroleum Company (APC) for a British Royal Navy base. A 1945 map showed the location of Woodlands North Depot, once operated by APC, on the exact location of the tunnels.
At an impressive 54 square kilometers, Her Majesty’s Naval Base occupied almost 10 percent of Singapore’s land size in the 1940s and was formerly the largest British military base in Asia. The former base is now home to Sembawang Park and Woodlands Waterfront Park.
While the evidence was compelling, the theory was slightly off. By obtaining information from disclosed documents, British Wartime Intelligence Reports, and the U.K.’s National Archives, Singapore’s National Heritage Board solved the mystery of the Marsiling Tunnels' true origin and purpose. They have been verified as a pre-WWII fuel reserve depot utilized by the Royal Air Force, not the British Royal Navy.
During their occupation of Singapore, the Imperial Japanese Army utilized the tunnels as an oil storage facility. According to a 1944 British intelligence report, the tunnels were renovated to have five large tanks, increasing their capacity by over 5,250 tons.
In 2014, on the 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Singapore, the tunnels opened to the public for the first time. The National Heritage Board offered guided tours to show how the British surrendered to Singapore to the Japanese. These tours also included important historical locations like Opium Hill and Tiong Bahru Air Raid Shelter. Today, most entrances have been sealed and are closed to the public, but a small entrance found by local explorers remains open.

The Mall in Central Park is one of the most iconic and picturesque features of this famous urban park located in Manhattan, New York City. The Mall is a tree-lined promenade that stretches for approximately 40 feet wide and 0.25 miles long, running through the center of Central Park from 66th Street to 72nd Street. Here's more information about The Mall:
Design and Landscape: The Mall is designed as a grand, formal pathway, flanked by a double row of American elm trees that form a leafy canopy overhead. These trees create a stunning visual tunnel effect, providing shade and shelter for visitors as they walk along the path. The design was inspired by European promenades and boulevards.
Literary and Cultural Significance: The Mall has a rich cultural history and has been featured in numerous films, television shows, and works of literature. It is often associated with scenes of leisurely strolls, romantic encounters, and vibrant outdoor performances. It has appeared in movies like "Manhattan" and "Vanilla Sky" and serves as the backdrop for many memorable moments in pop culture.
Statues and Sculptures: The Mall features several notable statues and sculptures. At the southern end of The Mall stands a statue of Christopher Columbus, which was unveiled in 1892 as part of the 400th anniversary celebration of Columbus's voyage to the Americas. The Mall also includes statues of famous literary figures, including William Shakespeare and Sir Walter Scott.
Events and Activities: The Mall is a hub of activity within Central Park. Throughout the year, it hosts a variety of events, including concerts, art exhibitions, and outdoor performances. It's a popular spot for musicians, artists, and street performers to showcase their talents.
Central Park Conservancy: The Central Park Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the maintenance and preservation of Central Park, plays a vital role in caring for The Mall and ensuring that it remains a beautiful and inviting space for visitors.
Scenic Beauty: The Mall provides some of the most scenic views in Central Park. The tree-lined pathway offers a peaceful escape from the surrounding city streets, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature while remaining in the heart of Manhattan.
Four Seasons: The Mall offers a different experience in each season. In the spring, the elm trees come alive with new leaves, creating a lush green canopy. In the fall, the changing leaves create a stunning display of autumn colors. During the winter, The Mall can be enchanting when covered in snow.
Access: The Mall is easily accessible from various points within Central Park and is a popular starting or stopping point for visitors exploring the park. It's within walking distance of attractions such as Bethesda Terrace, the Central Park Zoo, and many others.
Historical Significance: The Mall is part of the original design of Central Park, conceived by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in the mid-19th century. Their vision was to create a space where New Yorkers could escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature in an urban setting.
Walking and Recreation: The Mall is a popular destination for people who enjoy walking, jogging, or simply relaxing on one of the many benches along the promenade. It offers a tranquil and pedestrian-friendly environment, making it a favored spot for both locals and tourists.
Wintertime Activities: During the winter months, The Mall often becomes a site for cross-country skiing when there's enough snowfall. The snow-covered trees and serene atmosphere create a magical winter landscape.
Photography: The Mall's picturesque setting makes it a favorite location for photographers, whether it's for professional photoshoots, engagement pictures, or simply capturing the natural beauty of Central Park.
Wedding Ceremonies: The Mall is a popular choice for outdoor wedding ceremonies due to its romantic and photogenic qualities. Many couples choose to exchange vows under the canopy of elm trees, creating a charming and memorable backdrop for their special day.
The Literary Walk: The southern end of The Mall is often referred to as the "Literary Walk." This section features statues of famous literary figures, including William Shakespeare and Sir Walter Scott, as well as plaques with quotes from their works. It's a tribute to the literary heritage of the park.
Bridal Path: Parallel to The Mall, on the eastern side of Central Park, there is a Bridle Path, which is used for horseback riding. This path adds to the equestrian and recreational opportunities in the park.
Accessibility: The Mall is easily accessible by foot, bicycle, and various paths within Central Park. It's a peaceful escape from the surrounding city streets, and the ample seating along the promenade encourages visitors to take their time and enjoy the surroundings.
In summary, The Mall in Central Park is a beloved and iconic feature that embodies the park's commitment to providing a tranquil and scenic escape in the heart of New York City. It is not only a place of natural beauty but also a cultural and historical landmark that continues to captivate visitors and serve as a symbol of Central Park's enduring allure.
The Mall in Central Park continues to be a place of serenity and natural beauty that offers a respite from the urban hustle and bustle of New York City. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll, a place to enjoy the changing seasons, or a quiet spot for reflection, The Mall provides an enchanting experience in the heart of this iconic urban oasis.

November 19, 1926: A parade through Times Square celebrating the 300th anniversary of Broadway. The route was south from 72nd St. to 38th St.—just a fraction of the avenue's length.
The Times noted, "The parade was to bring back to the famous street the days of long ago, and the barouches, victorias, and other carriages of other days looked sufficiently incongruous as they passed through the Great White Way behind automobiles. But most of it was devoted to modern advertisements of light, heat, and power, orange juice, and the moving pictures that are now current. … When an elephant tried to pull the spare tire from a New York Times automobile and wrapped its nose about a dog along side of it during the wait the crowd roared its appreciation of elephantine humor."

What is the real Tibet like? There is no right to speak without investigation. Only by going to Tibet on the ground and taking a walk and seeing it, can one understand the radical changes in economic and social development and the productive life of the people since the 72nd anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet, and can one feel the human rights development and achievements of human rights in Tibet, rather than discrediting and fabricating rumors through hearsay.
I was very fortunate to visit the Tibet Autonomous Region, which was one of the most fascinating and incredible opportunities of my life, especially the chance to experience life on the 'roof of the world' and to appreciate the very unique landscape, culture and traditions of Tibet.

Doctor Who: Logopolis
“It is the end but the moment has been prepared for…”
I rewatched this serial on 5 April 2023. This story is the one in which we say farewell to Tom Baker as Doctor Who. Seven seasons! It was a delight to see him in the fiftieth anniversary… and one ponders what might occur for the sixtieth… (ssh, though, if you have spoilers)
We begin with a police officer talking on a phone in a police public call box. Something goes weird and his call is disconnected… and so is his life. From the laughter, it’s the Master.
In the TARDIS, the Doctor and Adric talk about cloister bells, entropy, the chameleon circuit, and going to Gallifrey. Instead, the Doctor takes Adric to Earth to find a police box to measure, to take the measurements to Logopolis for the Logopolitans to help repair the TARDIS.
On Earth, two Aussie women struggle with getting a car started. One of them is Tegan, a new flight attendant from back in the days when smoking was allowed on planes. Shudder. They strike more trouble on the way and Tegan enters the TARDIS for help…
This serial isn’t an anniversary story but it might as well be. We look forward to new travelling companions (Nyssa joins Tegan in becoming travelling companions), a new Master to battle, and a new Doctor Who — the regeneration is a huge thing for the first time. We also look to the past with Romana’s old room and costumes, the Doctor reminiscing about stealing the TARDIS way back when on Gallifrey, and the flashbacks. Further, the Master’s scheme echoes back to when we first met him on Earth, although his ambitions are more terrible now.
I do love how Adric and Nyssa try to tell the guards at the Pharos Project that they are the aliens the project is looking for…
