#ANYWAY.. I do like some of the concepts of some of the older fashion. Like t-shirt over a long sleeve shirt and they're both different
Photo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very strange outfit that is sort of like.. a mix of my current style (pattern mixing, pom poms, fun sandals) combined with how I dressed when I was like 10 years old. The stereotypical skelanimals hoodie vest and the skull t-shirt lol..
#self#kit the cat you will always be famous#all that like 2004 - 2008 emo & scene fashion is kind of like goth fashion in that I largely am not into it really but ALSO I can respect#elements of the aesthetic. Especially pattern mixing. plaid with stripes?? with checker print also?? Very cool. Less with scene stuff since#the patterns were all like#animal prints which was worse hghjbjh.. cheeta print with zebra print with checkers is a little weirder. I think I just don't like animal#prints though. Striped parts of hair are cool though still actually to me unironically like. If it wasn't so associated with sceney stuff#still I would maybe have some stripes lol#Googling skelanimals now most of it is unappealing to me but there are a few things that are cool. there's a jacket that has stripes and#heart print mixed together. Do I just really like pattern mixing?? ghbjhbhj.. that seems like the qualification.#T-shirt? no . boring. I hate it. Will never wear it. Same exact t-shirt in the same exact style except part of it is floral and the other pa#rt is striped and it also has like lace lining or something so it's more detailed looking? wow . perfect. I love it.#Silly skull animal hoodie in plain black? boring. no. never. Same hoodie but now each sleeve is a diferent pattern? Wow.. truly amazing#I can be won over by anything that's gaudy/busy/over complicated. That quote about like ''once you think your outfit is perfect remove one#more accesory'' or whatever about minimalism and not overcomplicating a look except the opposte. Once you think your outfit is perfect add 8#more items. also they all should be different patterns. hghjbhj#ANYWAY.. I do like some of the concepts of some of the older fashion. Like t-shirt over a long sleeve shirt and they're both different#patterns. and then a skirt that's a different pattern. and some tights or socks that are also assymetrical or some like complimentary#other pattern. Stripes + plaid especially. Famous combination. And the having like 667495789789 little plastic bracelets. No idea what was#up with that since I'm too socially out of touch especially when I was in school (I remember hearing that like some colors#of bracelet mean different things or something) but it was an interesting aesthetic. And the wrist bands#The t-shirt is from walmart from when I think I wasnt even in middle school yet still late elementary school and I remember thinking it was#the coolest thing ever because usually you had to go to hot topic or something to get clothes with skulls on them. And it's so so weird look#ing like. the colors?? are ugly and shouldnt work but actually I still kind of like the aesthetic. green with pink and weird mustardy yellow#and gray??? Maybe I only like it because it has different patterns (skulls + checkers + dots + hearts)#Anyway it's a really funny t-shirt to me. One of those weird items that is captivating for some reason#And the hoodie I actually owned a long time ago too. but I think I got it later. I had one other skelanimals thing which was a jacket and it#was like 5 sizes too big for me which I loved. And I remember being really obsessed with the font they used on their tags and trying to#replicate writing that way. not the newer gothy one. but the old logo font like.. it looks like Curlz MT or something lol

OBSESSING over the concept of the DHMIS guys having been real people (I mean not real people as in Humans but real people as in Still Puppets But Living Actually Normal Lives) before they got like, suddenly snatched by some Being into their little world, and their families have been searching for them for years. And one day they manage to free them! All of a sudden Red Guy and Duck and Yellow Guy have names and personal histories and time is passing in a linear fashion and they don't know how to handle it.
They don't remember any of it. These people are strangers to them. This world is a strange one.
Red Guy has a brother and sister who now have to take care of him, because he can't seem to adapt back to his old life. He used to have a real job and his own apartment and a very average life, and now he gets anxious when he's home too long, but also when he's out too long, and he gets anxious when the day passes without someone singing something but he gets anxious when the singing goes on too long. I also think it'd be fun if he's a more vibrant shade of red than he used to be. His siblings are younger and they tell him about who he used to be and he can't connect with any of it.
Yellow Guy lives with his mom and older brother. His older brother is older by quite a few years, old enough to kind of stand in as a dad since their dad is gone (it's not Roy, his mother never knew any Roys). He used to be a bright kid, maybe not the smartest ever, but he wasn't... like this. They keep having to intervene because he has no concept of Permanent Consequence anymore. He doesn't seem to understand Injury anymore. "But it'll go away," he says when his mother takes a knife away from him after he was running around with it. "Everything goes away. ... Mummy, where are my friends?"
Duck had a partner, apparently, and a niece. His sibling doesn't visit often, but his niece does. She says it makes her parent too upset to see him when he doesn't remember them. He says they need to get over it, who can remember things that happened before today anyway? But suddenly he can, and he starts having a hard time with it. "It's too much remembering!" he squawks. "How am I meant to keep track of it all if every day I know what happened before I went to sleep?!"
And all three keep asking about each other.
"Where're the other two?" Red Guy (he never remembers his name, and usually doesn't respond to it, and the same can be said of Duck and Yellow Guy) asks one say. "The smallest one usually sits somewhere around there, and uh, the other one, right about there. Where've they gone?"
"I miss my friends," Yellow Guy whines one day. "He told me about the military, and-and I miss that. And he's supposed to sit right there, and-and the tallest one is supposed to sit there! Did they leave me alone?"
"At least the other two weren't so dull," Duck grunts one day while doing a crossword (well, trying to, and struggling with such easy hints that it makes his partner feel sick). "Even when they tried to be. What? No, I don't know any specific stories. What a strange thing to ask someone."
The families do decide to chance a supervised meeting of the three a few months after getting them back.
The shift is strange. Red Guy is less anxious, but also more irritable. Yellow Guy is happier, but more afraid. Duck is content but more demanding. And they all sit there, acting so comfortable and yet so... strange. Like they're just... waiting. Biding time for something. The whole room feels still, stifled, and their families find themselves feeling the anxiety and confusion and irritation that the three usual display.
When all three are together there's just this.... uncanniness, to the air. The colors are brighter, in a way that hurts the eyes. The silence is thicker, and the sounds that cut through are sharper. Everything feels poised to collapse, a choking and stifling feeling that makes their families dizzy. And they sit in it and seem more comfortable than they've been since their rescue, if not for the way they keep checking around the room in almost grim expectation.
But nothing comes. So their families finally say it's time to go again.
"But we're not supposed to split up," Yellow Guy pleads.
"Stuff usually goes a bit off when we do that," Red Guy says flatly, but there's an undercurrent of stress to it.
"We'll be perfectly fine right here, thank you," Duck says stiffly. "We don't even know you freaks."
But at the same time they let themselves be dragged off like they have no other choice, no ability to fight back, until they're all back at their own homes with promises that they'll see the others again sometime.
One day the phone rings in Duck's house and he goes still. He walks towards it slowly, and picks it up with shaky hands. It's Red Guy, his partner (if they're really his partner anymore, they still love him and want him to get better but it's clear the person they were in a relationship with may never return) deduces from the muffled voice. It's shaky, and Duck's reply is shaky too.
"Is this real?" they hear Red Guy's voice say through the phone.
"I don't know," Duck says back. "It always feels like it is."
Maybe getting them out of there wasn't enough. Maybe their missing family brought some of that strange place back with them. Maybe they left something behind.
And no matter what kind of day it is, if it's a mild day with few episodes or a day full of confusion and panic, there's one very strong constant. When something happen that spikes their fear, when something makes them frightened or just simply uneasy, there's one form of comfort they always refuse.
Don't hug them. They're scared.

So I've been hurting my brain thinking about this, and since you seem to be an absolute lore god about this game I thought I'd ask you for theories.
So NSH, out of the 4 canon designs you see in game, has the fanciest clothes of them, I mean he has a scarf and embroidery (I assume based on the sleeves) while the others just have a simple poncho.
Based on SRS' concept art mentioning that they wear a simple poncho to indicate a similar age to Moon and Pebbles, I assumed that NSH maybe was the youngest of the 4 and that newer iterators had more complex clothes. But based on how he speaks about being angsty as well in the begginning, comparing himself to Pebbles current behaviour it makes me think that maybe that wasn't the case. Maybe it's the other way around and older iterator have more complex clothing designs, but then it doesn't make sense how Moon is the group senior and he isn't.
Maybe I am just reading too much into it and it's just a matter of his creators giving him something more stylish.
ps. I love your iterator designs.
LORE GOD??? That is so funny that's an insane thing to call me, I'm very honored to receive this title. Though I am just a little guy that loves this game too much!
Anyway sure let's talk about that! I cannot say for certain what ponchos are based on design wise, but I can speculate and in this ramble I will also go over some iterator age shenanigans.
Ramble below!!
Let's go over ages first. Moon is easy to pin point as the oldest in the group. She existed when iterators were few in numbers and has the bad case of "we didn't think that far ahead" so she has some problems.
I'd put Suns after her if we keep the intent of their concept art being a vaguely similar age to LTTM. I think that is a very neat idea and it ties well with their parallels that they have in game. Aside the obvious Sun and Moon dynamic, they are both mentors to Pebbles. (sidetracked but it is quite funny how you could say Pebbles flew too close to the Sun it's quite funny. I would assume that's why SRS is named that)
We have no canon or out of game or pretty much any evidence (as far as I know) for either NSH or CW, but for convenience sake I'll put them after SRS.
Then actually I'd put Pebbles. I know he is often made out to be the youngest iterator and perhaps I am missing something. But even though he is much younger than the rest of the group , given how NSH speaks about him.
And I'd place Innocence as the youngest. She's not important in this exact ramble, because she has no canon design, but I know there are some people that might disagree with me?
The reason I think so is because The House of Braids (That you can see on FP playing Artis campaign) is well on Pebbles. So he needs to exist for the pearl to exist.
Tumblr media
And this ancient from the House of Braids has apparently donated all their possessions to that project. The unbuilt UI.
Alright talked about their ages. So clothing? Well I don't have much solid evidence sadly. As underwhelming as that proobably is. You can take it two ways though!
You can discard what is being said on the concept art (as concepts can come and go when creating characters) and say that clothing has nothing to do with when an iterator was made and more so with the individual colony that built them. Colonies can be VERY distinct as we can tell from some of the broadcasts in Spears campaign. It'd make sense.
Or if you want to keep the ages= type of robe concept, you could say FP is an exception as he was made to be in Moon's likeness or by the same colony as Moon. So they wanted them to be similar.
Personally I find it funny if NSH just told his creators that he too wanted to be a fashion icon.

Dadrius Week Day 2: Fashion
“Are you ready to go?”
“Go?” Hunter echoed. Darius held his cake on a plate, fully iced and covered to protect it from the elements. He’d been in the kitchen all morning and afternoon, yelping incomprehensible squawks of indignation and anger at tiny mistakes and blunders. Whatever standard he’d held himself up to, the cake looked perfect to Hunter, icing forming curvy, creamy borders around the edge and delicate script reading Happy Father’s Day.
“Yes. Go. For Father’s Day.”
“I thought you said we weren’t doing anything?” Hunter yelped. The card had probably gotten crunched in his belt pouch, and now Darius had made the food? Hunter might have only heard of the concept last night, but he was relatively certain that wasn’t right.
“I said you didn’t have to do anything,” Darius corrected, “You don’t have to come, you just seemed interested last night, so I thought you might want to.”
Hunter’s heart thumped in his chest, and he scrambled to his feet, tugging his boots on his feet. Darius being fine to go off by himself for father’s day and making a whole cake for it seemed a little strange, but Gus HAD said some dads wanted to be left alone. However, if Darius wanted to celebrate… “Yes! I do! I want to come! Let’s go!”
“Good. Excellent.”
Abomination matter swirled around them, and when it died down, they stood outside an unfamiliar house—a manor, really, big and grand enough to rival even Amity’s house. Darius took a deep breath, patting his hair, straightening his clothes, and then finally, finally, ringing the doorbell.
Hunter glanced around at the perfectly manicured lawn and flowers. “Where are w—”
The door opened, and behind it stood a woman who shared Darius’ height, build and approximate age, but wore bright yellows rather than purple. “Darius?”
“Jasmin?”
She didn’t say anything for a long moment, just looked at him and the cake, and, for long enough that he started to feel a bit like a zoo exhibit, at Hunter. She finally broke off eye contact to turn to the house behind her. “HEY!” she yelled, “Darius is here!” She eyed Hunter again. “And some kid!”
Thud.
Footsteps thumped down the hallway towards them.
“I didn’t know you would be here,” Darius muttered.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Jasmin said blankly, “It’s Father’s Day. I brought a present. For my father. We’re having dinner.”
“Why didn’t you tell me you had something planned?!”
“Because I didn’t think you would come! You always say no when we invite you!”
“Because I was always—”
“Busy with coven head responsibilities,” Jasmin said with him, “Yeah, yeah.”
An older woman appeared in the doorway behind Jasmin. She stood at the same height as Darius and Jasmin, but was thinner, making her look taller. She wore mostly red, and Hunter wondered idly if she and Jasmin’s color choices were from their coven backgrounds, or purely aesthetic. “Darius! Well, hello!”
Darius broke off his argument with Jasmin to turn towards the older woman, his back straightening, and his shoulders pushing back, as if he didn’t already usually have perfect posture. “Hello, Mom.”
“Oh.” The pieces clicked in Hunter’s mind, and he couldn’t help speaking out loud. “Oh! Father’s Day for your father! You have a dad?!” Of course Hunter had known Darius must have had parents at some point, but he’d sort of assumed they must be dead. Darius hadn’t mentioned them once.
Darius gave him a quizzical look. “Yes? I told you we were coming here.”
“No, you didn’t! You just suddenly decided to bake a cake and then said we were going out!”
“I could swear that I told you.”
Jasmin laughed. “Sounds like you to just kidnap the poor kid without telling him what he’s getting into. Who is this, anyway?”
“Ah. Right. Hunter, this is my sister, Jasmin, and my mother, Ariana Deamonne. Jasmin. Mother. This is Hunter. He is my… ward.”
The word fell cold and flat, almost as impersonal as “coworker.” Although, judging the way he seemed to feel about Hunter doing something for him for Father’s Day, maybe that was right.
Darius’ mother smiled warmly at him. “Hello, Hunter. Welcome to our home.”
“Your ward,” Jasmin sighed, “Okay.” Jasmin grabbed the cake out of Darius’ hands. “C’mon in, Hunter. Lets give Darius and our mom a bit to catch up.”
Hunter started to ask Darius if it was alright, but Jasmin took his arm before he could. “Nope, don’t look at him, just come with me.” She tugged him down the hallway into a kitchen, sliding the cake onto the counter. “Ward,” she snorted, “That boy.”
Hunter coughed at the descriptor of Darius as ‘boy.’ “Did we come at a bad time?”
“What? No, no. Actually, you came at a perfect time, we haven’t even started cooking dinner yet.” Jasmin peered at the cake. “How long did he spend obsessing over this being perfect?”
Hunter coughed again. “Half the day.”
“Haha. Of course he did. Well, we’ll see if it passes muster. Of course, she’ll tell him it’s delicious no matter what.” Jasmin must have caught his questioning look, because she shook her head. “Our mother? Ariana Deamonne? Ran a cooking competition? One of the highest rated chefs in the Isles?”
“Oh.” Hunter searched for the right word. “Congratulations?”
Jasmin’s face lit up. “No way,” she breathed, “Please, please, please—how about Pops? Designer? I think the only famous outfit he didn’t design was the emperor’s?”
“I… don’t know a lot about fashion?”
Jasmin leaned her elbows on the kitchen counter, putting her chin in her hands. “Incredible. Question, do you know who it is that adopted you?”
Hunter flushed. “Of course I do. He was the abomination coven head.”
“Oh well, would have been funny. Aw, don’t be embarrassed. I’m not surprised he doesn’t talk about us.” She glanced at the door and leaned in conspiratorially. “Between you and me, Darius is the red ratworm of the family. Went into politics, by titan. For shame.”
Hunter coughed, desperate to change the subject from Darius gossip. “What is it you do?”
Jasmin gave him an amused look. “Large-scale architecture. I designed the remodel of the emperor’s keep after the fire of ’99.” She snickered. “There was a brick in one of the bathrooms with my name carved in it. I put it in the one near the abomination head office so Darius would see it. Kinda tempted to go through the rubble and find it.”
“Oh.”
Jasmin’s face softened. “Don’t feel bad for not knowing. It was before you were born, I’m betting, and I’m not surprised Darius never mentioned it. He always did prefer the way the keep looked when his mentor was still walking through it.” She drummed her perfectly manicured fingers against the countertop, looking Hunter up and down. “Boy, he really must have been in a hurry if he didn’t even make you get changed.”
Hunter tugged on his T-shirt self-consciously. “What’s wrong with this?”
“Nothing!” Jasmin said quickly, “There’s nothing wrong with it! It’s just very… hanging out with your friends and going to the library, you know?” She gestured to her own yellow outfit, a flowy tunic over a set of leggings. “VS Nice Family Dinner.”
Hunter’s ears started to burn again, and his hand hovered over the belt pouch where the father’s day card sat. “I didn’t know—and honestly, I don’t know if I’m supposed to be here, I mean, I’m just sort of living in Darius’ extra room, I’m hardly fam—”
Jasmin smacked her hands down on the counter, cutting him off. “Darius,” she growled. “Hunter, I promise, you would not be here if he did not want you here. He’s just… frazzled. We haven’t seen him in a while. His fault, by the way.”
“And he forgot today was Father’s Day,” Hunter couldn’t help himself from adding.
Jasmin snickered. “Of course he did. Well. Don’t worry, Aunt Jasmin’s gonna find you the perfect party outfit. I wouldn’t bring it up if I wasn’t going to do something to help you with it, geeze, how mean do you think I am?”
Hunter had stopped processing what she said after “Aunt Jasmin,” but the rest of her statement caught up just as she put a hand on his shoulder. “What?!”
Jasmin steered him up the stairs. “What’s your preferred style?” she pressed, “Form fitting? Loose and flowy? Pants? Skirt? Cape, or no cape?”
“Um—I don’t know?” Hunter tugged on his shirt again. “Loose, I guess?”
“Gotcha.” She eyed him up and down. “I think we still have some of Darius’ clothes from when he was your size. And I know some of mine are floating around.” She ducked into a closet, pulling out hangers of clothes and holding them up, squinting at him. “Hmmm. I think you’d look good in gold.” She gave him a toothy grin. “Match me. Aw, hey, this is one Dad designed for Darius when he was just obsessed with the golden guard. Obviously it’s an ‘inspired by’ design, not real armor, but what do you think?” She held up a soft yellow tunic, embroidered subtly so that it flashed like gold in the light and emulated armor plating. “We can even put your belt over it so you can keep your stuff with you.”
Hunter’s heart beat in his throat as the tunic glistened menacingly. He’d drowned his own armor in a river, watching it sink to the muddy bottom, but now it seemed like the outfit was back to haunt him.
A heavy hand clasped his shoulder. “Hunter prefers blues, blacks, and browns,” Darius rumbled, “Not gold. And I’d appreciate it if you didn’t kidnap my guest, Jasmin.”
Jasmin gave Darius a cool look, but disappeared back into the closet without a word. Funny. She’d been overly friendly only seconds ago. What was it about Darius that made her so standoffish? Darius sighed. “I’m sorry about her. I thought we would just be meeting with my parents, who are a lot… less.”
A blue tunic sailed out of the closet, fwapping into Darius’ face.
“You are proving my point, Jasmin!”
“And you don’t get to act like you have any sort of moral high ground over me! You show up after years of minimal contact and expect no hard feelings?! I’ve done father’s day and mother’s day on my own for the past twenty years, and now you just pop over with a cake and a kid?” This time, a pair of pants flew out, smacking Darius in the chest. “You missed mother’s day this year, by the way. You better come for her birthday, or she’ll think you’re avoiding her specifically.”
“Jasmine, look, I…” Darius glanced at Hunter. “…I’ve realized some things. About who I want to be, and what is important to me. And I know I’ve been… absent… for the past couple of decades, but I’m trying to reach out. I’m sorry that I left you, and I’m sorry I gave you all the responsibilities for holidays and birthdays and family get togethers. I had my reasons, of course, but that doesn’t make it fair. Not to Mom and Dad. Not to you. But I’m here now, and I want to try the whole… family thing again.”
Jasmin poked her head out of the closet. “So you skipped right to the ‘give mom and dad a grandchild’ thing to make up for twenty years of nothing, huh? For someone who wants to try family again, you sure did an awful job of telling your new kiddo about the rest of us.”
Darius spluttered. “Grandch—that’s not why I—oh, forget that part. You’re right.” He turned to face Hunter. “I didn’t give you much warning, Hunter, and for that, I apologize. I should have let you know what my plans were.” A small, amused smile crept onto his face, and he tilted his head at the closet. “And I certainly should have prepared you for dealing with this one.”
Jasmin crinkled her nose at him.
“A heads up would have been appreciated,” Hunter agreed, “I thought…” He didn’t finish the sentence. He’d thought, what, that they were going to do some father-son bonding? Go play catch in the park or something corny like that? Darius wasn’t the only one who kept skirting around the adoption papers. It seemed like whenever Hunter wanted to sign them, Darius wasn’t ready, and the days when Darius thought it was a good idea, Hunter was having second thoughts. Of course Darius didn’t want him to do anything for Father’s day when he wasn’t even sure if he wanted it to be official.
Darius sighed. “I gave up my family to become a coven head; it was a mistake. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my lifetime, and I’m attempting to rectify them now. So. Hunter. Let me start over. It would be an honor to introduce you to my family. If you are willing.”
“Ooo! I’ve got it!” Jasmin backed out of the closet. She held a blue shirt with billowy, loose sleeves, a pair of black pants, a silver belt, and a pleated blue half-cape, designed to be worn at the hip. She eyed Darius, then Hunter, then the outfit. “Hm. Yeah. Purple and blue. Good. Excellent. You two will match next to each other.”
Darius nodded. “It looks wonderful. Thank you, Jasmin.” He faced Hunter, and for just a second, Hunter thought he saw uncertainty and worry behind his usually aloof gaze. “Hunter? What do you want to do? Do you want to stay, or go?”
What did he want to do? He hadn’t had any real plans for father’s day. Just snippets of what Gus was going to do for his dad. He wasn’t even sure if “dad” was a role he wanted Darius to have in his life—or if Darius wanted to take it. But Darius wanted Hunter to meet his family—and surely that had to mean something, right? Besides, if it was father’s day, then didn’t Darius deserve to spend time with his father?
“I want to stay,” he said slowly, “I want to meet them.”
“Are you sure?”
Hunter took the clothes from Jasmin. “Positive.”

BLOODBORNE LORE Q+A PART 7: CAINHURST RAID, CARYLL AND THE RUNES, LEAVING BYRGENWERTH
part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
part 5
part 6 (start of lore dump)
---
my new adhd medication is working too good.
BLOCK #LONG POST/ TO NOT SEE THESE HUGE POSTS
i will post pure speculation in italics and important nouns in bold. these are created with the intent to be enjoyed by fans and non-fans.
translation source
---
from the jump i'm going to add an editor's note that from this point on the timeline is muddled, confusing, vague and occasionally contradictory. people have moved heaven and earth trying to make sense of the inconsistencies, but the truth of the matter is that bloodborne suffered the fromsoft late game curse and was chopped up beyond recognition at the 11th hour for whatever internal development reason. whats interesting to me is the stuff they chose to keep that's complete and utter chaff. there are extremely rare items that do literally nothing but sit in your inventory, or quests that are completely pointless. enemies appear where they "shouldn't" and it difficult to tell if they are trying to impart some kind of information or if we're just getting dragon-assed in lost izalith again. its very odd and i think thats what draws people back again and again. such as....me......
i can give you overviews of these events in the approximate order that they happened but there is no guarantee that they happened exactly in this order or in this fashion.
---
from this point on, there will be a distinct delineation between "old hunters" and "hunters". old hunters are from the time of byrgenwerth and have survived into the modern day as a result of old blood injections or can be summoned from the hunter's nightmare using the old hunter bell. a distinct characteristic of old hunters is that they no longer dream (the bell description reads: "The old hunters, who have long passed from the dream[...]"). notable old hunters include: gascoigne, alfred, djura, ludwig, gehrman, and maria.
regular ass hunters are new on the scene and usually belong to a recently established institution such as the healing church, school of mensis, or the choir. or they might just be common schlubs who joined the hunt as part of the neighborhood watch. [points at the camera] that's you. eventually. not yet.
---
as perfect proof of what i'm talking about with regards to contradictory timelines and being chopped to bits: an unknown time ago, martyr logarius and a band of executioners traveled to cainhurst castle and slaughtered the inhabitants, the dreaded vilebloods. the inciting incident (or so says alfred, a heavily biased source as hes the only executioner in the game, uh, with lines anyway) was an unknown scholar who "betrayed his fellows at Byrgenwerth and brought forbidden blood back with him to Cainhurst Castle". the blood "threaten[s] the purity of the Church's blood healing" although it's not explained how or what the fuck they're talking about. according to alfred, logarius stayed behind to prevent the undying and unkillable queen from regaining power.
i do not know when this takes place. cainhurst royals were "long-time imbibers of blood" who already had a system to deal with the beast plague, implying they doing blood before blood was cool. but eventually ludwig uses the executioner uniform as the basis for his church hunters and it features the modern edition of the hunter's mark (as opposed to the older versions that you can see in this concept art and in chalice dungeons), so it had to be during or before ludwig's time. there are runes associated with both parties that were discovered by a byrgenwerth scholar, so it at least happened during or after their lifetime.
so its kind of vaguely around this time even though they talk about it like it happened 1000 years ago. since this is one of the least comprehensible story-lines of the game, we won't worry about it too much right now.
i need an image to break this up so check out the most fucked up, non-snake related map in the game:
Tumblr media
for a company known for its cohesive maps, this is a fucking insane series of choices. i understand annalise needs to be trapped but what the fuck is this room. why is it up here. why is it magic. why is it like a hoarders nest full of the same 4 statues found literally everywhere on this map. this truly is the most mysterious game.
everyone and their mother has a completely baseless and improbable theory about who the culprit was or if there even WAS a rat at byrgenwerth- so of course so do i. let me work my way over there.
---
whether due to an ideological difference or the whole fishing hamlet genocide thing, laurence and several of the hunters left byrgenwerth with the intent of researching "the old blood" from the labyrinth. the miraculous healing powers were too enticing for laurence to ignore, but willem was steadfast in his belief that humanity was not yet ready to reckon with whatever it was that was happening here - at least, not without elevating themselves to the same level as those in the "cosmos". his distaste for use of the blood is mentioned off-hand in the rune workshop tool description.
caryll runes side note for newbies: caryll runes are a gameplay mechanic that give you buffs you can switch in and out by using an iron brand on your consciousness. the runes themselves are transcriptions of "the inhuman utterings of the Great Ones". all but a handful of the runes were discovered/transcribed by runesmith caryll and some were explicitly secret ones.
almost nothing is known about caryll except they were a student of byrgenwerth. the workshop tool named for them is found on a dead hunter tied to a chair as the reward for the witch of hemwick fight. people will try to tell you that this schmuck is caryll but that's fucking stupid. caryll was not a hunter and there's no reason why caryll would have the means or motive to pilfer their own tool from the hunter's dream. i dont know why this guy has it. maybe hes just an asshole and stole it from the dream to be a dick. who knows. hes just griefing us lol
all three translations agree that caryll runes "do not rely" on using blood, so its significant when they DO start using blood in the runes. one could read this as indication of caryll's transition from byrgenwerth to the healing church to follow laurence over willem. nearly all of the covenant related runes and the runes relating to oedon are bleeding or "contain a nuance of Blood", as it says in the corruption rune used by the vilebloods.
the executioners have a rune too, "radiance", which is unusual for its description specifying that caryll had already discovered the rune by the time the executioners adopted it as their own. there is no mention of this on the "corruption" page, nor on the remaining covenant runes discovered by caryll.
if cainhurst were to alert their subjects of the already well-known beast plague caused by the miraculous healing blood, the church's newly established grasp on the populace would crumble. if cainhurst could keep the beasts in check, why couldn't they? they already did, after all, in the labyrinth. with the vilebloods gone (or at least, dealt with), the church has unilateral control of the ministration process to the point where alfred, an old hunter, does not understand it in the least. i wonder if a certain byrgenwerth educated runesmith was invited to castle cainhurst or traveled on their own, only to discover during the runemaking process that the "old blood" from the labyrinth and the blood in the veins of the royals were one and the same.
---
"eyes on the inside" is a cutesy way of describing "insight", but the byrgenwerth system for deriving said insight necessitated the gruesome acts at the fishing village to obtain an eye-ridden cord, or at the very least, the parasitic creatures and slugs aligned to the arcane found in the village and bodies of the fishing village. willem hoped the cord would elevate his mind, and by extension himself, into a great one.
if we do some reading between the lines on the description for the "spark hunter badge", the description of "a style of inquiry that [...] closely followed the methodology of Byrgenwerth" is almost certainly "expose yourself to it" or "use living specimens" based on, well, everything and their protegees do. its not clear if willem ever actually got the cord; it only says he "sought" it. but he did, at least take part in and shape the byrgenwerth focus of learning away from blood and toward developing eyes on the inside. by putting slugs in your fucking head.
Tumblr media
someone on reddit pointed out that the brainsucker enemies are kos parasites living inside the stitched up skulls of...people? pthumerians? i would argue pthumerians due to the fact that these enemies replace the generic pthumerian enemies in a chalice dungeon much later.
Tumblr media
we can talk about byrgenwerth's results and fate later. because next time, the healing church is established.

i cannot believe how long this shit is. kudos if you read it i guess. if nothing else it gets this out of my head, forever.

Ok so I’ve been thinking about Five and Delores recently and I honestly find the whole concept of Delores absolutely fascinating. I wanted to post this before season three in case I get contradicted and all of this work was for nothing
So today I present to you:
Why I think that Number Five can still be aroace and have loved Delores
An essay on comphet by me, a bisexual who is procrastinating the work he actually has to do and stayed up way too late for this
So I’m going to be talking about Five’s sexuality, a very controversial topic of which I could end up pissing off at least one person whilst discussing. So a little disclaimer: y’all don’t have to listen to a word I say. We can all have different headcanons. I just request that you please read the entirety of this before you reply
Anyways
Five does not have a canon sexuality as of when I’m writing this so it is therefore entirely up to interpretation
Here’s mine
A lot of people who argue Five can’t be aroace often point out that he had a romantic relationship with Delores or feel that saying Five is aroace undermines the relationship that he had with her. I’m here to say that that isn’t necessarily true. In fact, in my opinion, it could make their relationship more faceted and interesting if it wasn’t a romantic relationship
To me at least
Firstly, I don’t think Five ever explicitly states what his relationship to Delores was other than saying they were ‘together for over thirty years’ when Klaus has a brief discussion with him about romantic and sexual relationships. Now, this does heavily imply that they were in some sort of romantic relationship however, it could also be taken as them being partners in a more platonic sense because Five mentioning it seems more prompted by Klaus claiming him to have been alone (and Five feeling semi comfortable enough to take that as an opportunity to open up to him) more than anything else.
Secondly, (and here’s my main argument) their entire relationship will always be based off Five’s perception of how certain relationships work. If Five believes that him and Delores were in a romantic relationship then that can only be based on the way he perceives romantic relationships or more accurately, the way a sheltered thirteen year old perceives romantic relationships. And as Delores is an extension of Five himself, she will always have the same subconscious values and feelings that he has, as well as with him being trapped in The Apocalypse, he couldn’t have been told differently by anyone else.
All of how he sees romantic relationships is going to be based off the limited knowledge of what he saw around him. Majority of this would have been from late-nineties/early-2000s media as well as (and mostly) older literature that he was taught in class or burnt up books, magazines and newspapers in the wreckage of The Apocalypse.
Five didn’t have a very good model of what a healthy, loving, romantic relationship looked like, growing up. And he didn’t really have anyone that he could have fallen in love with other than his siblings (eek.) His two real life references for what a romantic relationship could look like would have been his father and robot mother; and his brother and sister unhealthily projecting their repressed puberty feelings onto each other due to their isolation from the rest of the world
Robot Grace was essentially a maid to Reginald and not a real romantic interest so I highly doubt that he ever saw them as being in a romantic relationship despite them both being his ‘parents’. This is backed up by the way that Diego reacts to finding out that real Grace and Reginald were dating in the 60s
Reginald (although I doubt that he would have wanted the Hargreeves to fall in love and distract from saving the world) seems like the kind of man to have very old-fashioned values that a man and a woman fall in love and then they get married. And all of the Hargreeves would have been influenced by that somewhat by what media he let them consume. As well as this, we have a very heteronormative society and back in 2002 the access to information wasn’t void but it wasn’t excessive either
Five, having a curious mind and always striving to understand everything, probably did have some idea on different relationships and sexualities but he still would have had limited access to those resources. He could very easily be aroace (or any other sexuality for that matter) but during his years at The Academy, had such little eduction on the matter that he couldn’t truly figure himself out. I doubt he would have known about sexualities other than being straight, gay or bi and could have had the thought process of ‘I’m not attracted to men, so I must be straight,’ or ‘I’m not attracted to women so I must be gay,’ or even ‘I’m attracted to both equally (equally not attracted) so I must be bi.’ He could have also had such little interest in romantic relationships that he just didn’t put that amount of thought into it/thought that everyone had the same internal nonchalance about it but that some people were just more externally excited about the prospect than others
His access to this kind of information would have decreased when he landed The Apocalypse, partly because there was no one else there to give him the information and partly because a lot of books containing said information would have been destroyed. That’s not to say they would have all been destroyed because obviously Viktor’s autobiography survived, but a large amount of them would have been destroyed.
Now, Five, as we’ve seen, is often described by the fandom as being a magpie in the way that he mimics the behaviour of those around him as a survival mechanism. Five, obviously knows what love is, and I have no doubt that what he felt for Delores was love, but for someone who, was separated from society at a young age and has a tedious reference for what romantic love looks like, it could be quite difficult for him to distinguish between romantic and platonic/familial love. Delores was very much created by Five as a coping mechanism to slow his impending insanity. It wouldn’t be far fetched for him to have created Delores and as he slowly slipped into believing she was real, he ended up developing a love for her -which could have been platonic/familial love- but based off of his knowledge of ‘when a man and a woman are in love they must be in a romantic relationship’ he analysed his own feelings of love and went ‘hey, this must be what romantic love is!’
And Delores wouldn’t be able to say any different because she wouldn’t know any different because she lives inside Five’s headspace
Essentially what I’m saying is that Five spending his teens (and entire life) in isolation with his only companion being a person who he made up, would realistically hinder his own sexual exploration and due to limited resources, could cause him to misinterpret his own feelings of platonic/familial love for romantic love. Meaning that with Delores he could have ended up subconsciously or maybe even intentionally mimicking the traditional heterosexual romantic relationship with his own interpretation of what he’s been taught is what happens when man and woman love each other, as a way of experience some semblance of the life he was missing/be able to live semi-in-denial of his suffering on occasion. Therefore, Five (and Delores by extension) could still be aroace and have been in a relationship
Five clearly loved Delores (and we know that he does love people in a platonic/familial way because his entire character/motivation is based off his love for family) and he clearly needed her but it’s never specified what their love entailed, and therefore their relationship could have been based off of a child’s misunderstanding of how romantic relationships work. They could have still been life long partners without loving each other romantically. Five could still love her deeply and strongly and in a meaningful way without loving her romantically. They could have still technically been in a romantic relationship if both parties (singular party technically) believed that they were.
Five could still not experience romantic or sexual attraction and still have loved Delores. He does it with his family every single day
And obviously this logic of Five not being able to explore his sexuality and having limited resources for that could also apply to him having any sexuality. I’m not denying that. I’m just using it as a way to show that him and Delores could still have loved each other and had a relationship that was just as important as a romantic one without it actually being romantic
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

i feel like fairly regularly i make posts on here that are like 'huh, turns out that actually this Cut-For-Women garment i thought was fairly neutral and would be unremarkable makes me dysphoric!!' and then like. learn nothing from that realization and make an identical post about a different garment some months later—
like it's complicated because as a short king* i do frequently enjoy eg short shorts. are they masc? no. is my (inaccurate but gratifying) self-concept one of those, like, vintage dudes in short shorts when i wear them? yes, so it's fine. and there are some other things like that, where like, if i do the right mental gymnastics they can work for me (i started to specify but like. does anyone really care, lol. apply within in the unlikely event that you Must Know, i guess!).
however i think negative ease is like. more and more consistently a problem for me. like it just feels to me like such a vestige of womenswear training—
[here i'd originally typed out and then redacted a whole excursus on like, all the transmasc fashion blogs you used to see years ago where people would put together these legitimately masc outfits and then on the bottom they'd do these incredibly clingy skinny jeans, bc like, who am i to police that, maybe they were into the deliberate juxtaposition of it! but i did always wonder at the time whether it was just, like, a leftover womenswear habit they hadn't yet actively scrutinized, although probably it was unenlightened of me to be noticing it at all…]
—and the more i move away from that training, the more i find that things i've bought which don't have actively positive ease just strike me as, like, weirdly shrunken and constricting?? which is frustrating when they're things whose material, color, &c i otherwise still quite like!
anyway really this is a post abt how i currently have one (1) hoodie i like, and in theory it would be nice to have a second one both for more color combination possibilities and also because i hear you're like. supposed to take things off and wash them ever, even if merino is magic or whatever. however (a) there aren't any other interesting colors in that particular model, really, and the people who do make interesting colors (icebreaker) really want you to be taller than i am, especially for menswear; and (b) the whole problem is extremely irritating because i do have another older hoodie in a colorway i still quite like! there's nothing wrong with it except that stupidly i bought it too form-fitting at the time and now even though by womenswear standards it does in fact still 'fit' the way it clings through my shoulders/arms is making me insane!
in conclusion, grr, argh, &c.
⸻ * 'king' isn't really the right language for me but like. in a totally inexplicable turn of events (it's very explicable. we can do a whole sidebar on how binary gender is a pillar of the kyriarchy or whatever.) most noble titles i'm aware of are very binarily gendered. maybe we'll go with 'marquess' bc like. it's a man's title but also looks feminine by ordinary english standards and like. what am i if not the ruler of a border area.

ur a veteran emo? please teach me ur ways, I aspire for the 2000s emo culture but I can't find clothes anywhere😭
Yess! <3 Absolutely.
I'm truly no expert, but I can definitely share some insight with my personal experiences! Honestly by 'veteran emo' I always meant it as a 'I paid my nickel' type deal. I still dress alternative and dark, but my style has definitely changed to meet my needs as I've gotten older (no more skinny jeans for me LOL.) However, I do want to write all the tips I've picked up on my emo-inspired fashion journey - because I really do dress in homage to my 12 year old self. So without further ado, as per my 21 years of being an oddly dressed, dark inspired, self proclaimed emo veteran....here are my top tips to perfecting your own style:
1. Don't Be Afraid to Cut Your Clothes.
Seriously. Don't be afraid. I am so shit at sewing its not even funny (and I have TRIED) but if I've learned one thing: if you're not wearing the clothes anyway- cut em up.
I never wore any of the T-shirts I bought myself until I cut all of them into an "off the shoulder" style. Now that they're comfortable for me, I feel so much more confident in them! And they're way more flattering too. This tip goes for any clothes. Don't be afraid to fuck them up - dye, cut, tie, add patches if that's your thing, embroidery, etc. If they end up looking like garbage that's okay! You can just donate them/toss them/use them as rags lol. The main thing is that you'll start building confidence on how to DIY your clothes, at least minimally.
2. Iconic Emo Hair is a Journey
HAIR!!!! Growing up in the 2000s, I would go to a cheap seat salon, holding my little printed out photo of some emo girl from the internet. I was excited beyond belief! I would sit down and ask the jaded 50 year old stylist to cut my hair like the girlie in the photo, only to be met with judgmental eyes and horrible experiences.
One time, this lady deadass said to my impressionable 11 year old self; "Ah, yes, the iconic style of.....that."
I have had way Too Many Karen haircuts in my life. Some I totally slayed ! Others were.....mm.
Anyway, my recommendation on hair is this - either do it yourself (I could never) or do your research. Find some local non-chain salons in your area and look at the stylists. Stalk their instagrams! Look at their work. Find someone who loves doing shags and wolfcuts. I now go to a "higher end" salon. My girlie Caitlin has tranformed me into the punk emo princess of my dreams! I already had a side part, so I basically asked for a shaggy mullet with a bunch of layers, but I asked to keep a swoopy bang/fringe and some pieces of hair in front of my ears to frame my face.
3. It Grows with You Over Time.
It doesn't matter where you get your clothes. What matters is that the clothes you're getting bring out the most authentic, confident and amazing version of yourself! Style is an extension of yourself, so don't be afraid to adapt concepts from 2000s emo culture into the modern styles you might love today.
The first thing I recommend for literally ANYONE trying to discover themselves and their style is to make an aesthetic board. Not a board specifically for fashion, but rather one that encompasses you. Scenery, trinkets, textposts, aesthetic images that remind you of yourself, even just things that you like! Having a visual for who you are and who you want to be is so helpful. Literally anything and everything can be used as closet inspiration, and having an aesthetic board that completely revolves around you and how you perceive yourself can be so eye opening!
You might even recognize patterns in your interests that you didn't even notice before! Color palettes, textures, and shapes can all come to light. All of these things are very helpful in figuring out your personal style.
Once you have a genuine idea of your personal aesthetic board, you can then make one for fashion. Adding outfits or articles of clothing that you're interested in will help you when thrifting and shopping! I always pull up Pinterest when I'm at the mall or thrifting. It helps me get an idea of the clothes I already have and the types of outfits I want to wear.
For example, here are some of the patterns I recognize on my aesthetic boards:
Silver jewelry (layered necklaces, lots of rings)
Spider imagery
Long black skirts
Black, deep reds, dark blues
Platform boots
Celestial imagery
Leather jackets
Oversized button up shirts (flannels, dark colored corduroys)
Witchy plants
Shirts with long, interesting sleeves (bell, balloon, flared)
Big ol' sweaters
Bat imagery
Black tank tops with a 'v' neckline
Your style will evolve as you get older. And no matter who you are - style is versatile. Even if you love to wear corsets and gorgeous form fitting skirts most days....eventually you'll need a day in just sweatpants and your coziest sweater. As stated - what matters is that the clothes you have make you happy and bring forward your most authentic and confident self.
4. Don't Put Yourself in a Box!
Making your style your own will not only help you feel confident in your own skin, but also gives you flexibility in your closet. Style evolves with you! You shouldn't worry about you should or shouldn't be wearing just to fit into a special box like "emo" or "goth" or "cottagecore" or any of that! Instead, take the elements of those styles that you love and implement them into your wardrobe. This also helps you find clothes that are comfortable and that you'll actually wear.
5. Emo Style Starter Pack
For emo clothes in particular, I recommend accumulating clothes that are black, dark grey, grey, and white (yes white.) And then choose an accent color! For me, my favorite colors to wear are blue and purple. So when I started accumulating a concrete wardrobe my Junior year of high school, I mostly focused on black clothing and found accentuating accessories or articles of clothing that matched my fave accent color.
For someone starting to shop for traditional emo clothes, here's a shopping list I've curated:
Long sleeved shirts (black, striped, patterned) (to be worn under other shirts or stand alone)
Black tank tops (different straps)
Band t-shirts! Or just dark t-shirts with alternative designs
Heavy jacket/button up shirts (flannels, jean jackets, leather jackets)
Dark pants (can have as many pocket/rip/design elements as you'd like)
Dark boots (could be platforms)
Canvas sneakers
Oversized hoodies
Layered necklaces
Fingerless gloves
Multiple rings
Belts with dangling elements like chains
Beanie hats (you can get cute oversized ones)
Flat brimmed caps (LOL YES! IF YOURE INTO IT)
Black bandanas to wear over your hair (I think you can wear them in a lot of cool ways :3)
At the end of the day though, if you just wear a lot of black any normie will call you an emo. Find clothes that you feel comfortable and clothes that will make you feel badass!
Hope this helped! Or maybe it didn't lol. I'm just glad I managed to actually finish this post.
xoxo

What age first comes to mind when you think of each of the original NTT?
I've asked this previously with the JLI. It's not about how canonically old they are or you think they should be (absent de-agings, universe reboots, etc.). But when you first think of each of these characters, how old do you think of them as? So much depends on the eras you read with them, and what of that sticks with you, and which eras and aspects and relationships you most value. Not to mention how fast in-universe time was moving in your favorite eras.
Wally, of course, got married and had kids. They never let Dick do so in main timeline, but he has associations with younger Batfam members that make me think of him as older. Poor Raven and Gar were deaged and kept on younger teams even before the universe reboot. And we have Vic and Kory after.
For me, so much depends on the era I read them in. All have eras I just don't read them in, either because I don't like what's going on with them or because of general disinterest in what's going on with DC at the time (that especially covers recent times, as I kept waiting for continuity to settle, then the constant Events, which aren't my thing).
Speed-aging Wally's kids throws him off to me, too, as I'm not fond of speed-aging kids at all (or skip-timing as with Jon Kent). So in my head he ends up a new dad in his mid twenties.
Dick ends up late 20s in my head. Relative ages of other Bats play in, but I sort of cut off for him before New 52 (and I honestly never think of him as Batman) because I've never really gotten into anything of his after that (hate the de-aging). He should be older, of course, but I don't first think of him that way, again probably due to not reading later stuff much.
The others haven't had the same degree of solo work after the team, and I abandoned NTT shortly after Titans Hunt. I've read stuff with them here and there since, but never consistently read a Titans title since.
Raven and Kory pretty much stop for me then. It's hugely important from a storytelling perspective, but I simply dislike the whole concept of Dark Raven or Rachel Roth or the goth-y influences from the cartoon (which I liked when I watched it, but didn't want to influence the comics I didn't read comics then and now resent character being largely remade from it), and even though I know they exist, they don't enter my headspace. So Raven ends up in her early twenties.
Kory, as I said, is in a similar headspace to me. I know other storylines happened, but I'm even vaguer on those than Raven's. Another dead husband, more pain for Tamaran - sounds like basically story on repeat to me, though I didn't read it, so can't speak authoritatively. Don't get me started on having her and Jason (or Roy as Jason) as a team or even worse on putting her on Damian's Teen Titans. Anyway, I always think of her as early twenties, too.
Gar, interestingly enough, I tend to think of in his slightly older, more mature fashion. Not making his obnoxious jokes and sexually harassing female teammates. And operating in a time when Dayton simply isn't around (and Rita is dead). I'm not at all sure it isn't some not just amalgamated, but constructed version of him built out from what I wanted him to grow up to be. Anyway, he sits in his early twenties for me.
Now Vic - I kinda feel in some aspects like I do with Gar and in some aspects like Raven and Kory. Certainly the post Titans Hunt events don't factor in at all (I didn't like storyline even a bit before like, quit reading a few issues after, and forget a lot of what happened after that era with Vic even happened). More like Raven and Kory and less like like Gar, he was older and more mature. I think of him early or mid twenties and having found peace with himself and belief in his own humanity (which happened a couple times before he'd reset on it), but don't think of that as having just happened, so ending up adding a couple years.
Donna is the wonky one. I tend to stick her in two categories - recently married early twenties or recently separated mid twenties. While I think motherhood and her son were extremely important to her in-universe, I didn't read that era, so it doesn't stick with me. I have the before, when I was reading NTT. And I have some of the time during the separation (when she showed up in other comics I was reading) and cutoff before Robert dying, as that was really part of a soft reboot of the character/origins that didn't work for me. I mean, her origin has always been a mess, and moreso since COIE, but another changeup was not the solution.

Master Recs: The "N64" Trilogy (2023)
Tumblr media
Pseudoregalia
Let us muse over a very small, three-dimensional Metroidvania game stylistically fashioned after the Nintendo 64 era of graphical fidelity. It stars a deliciously polygonal rabbit-y, goat-y, cat-like girl.
Tumblr media
Now, I am playing this on the fabled Steam Deck. It runs and controls smoothly on the platform but you might require to fiddle with the video settings as the default configuration is slightly blurry due to a very specific and fascinating reason. It turns out Pseudoregalia vaunts a certain level of depth in its technical customization, one that's surprisingly fun to manipulate. There's an option to toggle on or off a retro graphical scale and character movement rate, which graciously emulate the old school console experience. You can also manually reduce or augment the maximum framerate for the whole game. You could theoretically play something that looks like a 30 fps 3D Platformer from 1997 or the most HD upscaled version thereof at 144 fps, or everything in between! The default, blurry configuration comes as a result of the aforementioned retro scaling clashing with the 4K resolution in full screen mode. This is the first and last time in recorded human history that I will ever be this enamoured with "specs talk."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point is, we have a darling gem with a cultivated aesthetic, a good level of polish: it will look "right" regardless of your favoured settings. I'm impressed by the extra layer of work placed in the subtle use of limited framerates for the character's movement.
Tumblr media
Pseudoregalia captures the idea, the abstract concept and low-poly charm of a N64 title with a gameplay that recalls your memory of it, rather than the unwieldy reality. I say this as someone who doesn't have nostalgia for early 3D graphics: the game makes them look spiffy.
Tumblr media
I shall be honest, this is normally not the sort of title I would enjoy playing, as precise platforming and traversal puzzles are my nemesis. I mentioned afore the level of polish, which is generally consistent, but some of the movement upgrades you get (such as the jump/wall kick) can be rather finicky to master. In that sense, be wary that the game does not openly provide you with tutorials for the moves that require more finesse, choosing instead to hide an additional set of instructions in the inventory descriptions. It's "old school", you see. Older versions were bereft of maps thus making exploration a burden for those like me who are directionally challenged - both in games and in real life. Regardless, I kept getting drawn by its world, its somber atmosphere, its tight gameplay and especially its protagonist, Sybil.
Tumblr media
An appealing design for your avatars goes a long way in ensuring an emotional connection to them and Sybil just so happens to have one of the most striking and instantly recognizable appearances I can fathom. It's a pleasure to look at her go! Furthermore, I would posit that she has a lot in common with my precious videogame fluffy boy, Klonoa - and I do I mean, a lot. I will not elaborate. If you get it, you get it. In conclusion, Pseudoregalia is an impressively put together jam. It's easy to pick up yet punishing to handle, it's fun and fascinating in spite of its more irritating aspects. The best overall critique I can give it is that it made me want to keep trying, and trying, and trying, until I eventually became good enough to complete it several times and even beat the insanely hard Time Attacks. In short: game is good. Play it.
---
Corn Kidz 64
If I had a nickel for every time a throwback 3D Platform game starring a cute goat-like creature managed to grab my attention, I would have a whopping three nickels! Anyway, here is Corn Kidz 64, an artistically verosimile homage to the Rareware games you probably remember.
Tumblr media
Deliciously stylized polygons welcome both you and I into a quirky mindscape. You play as a rude little prick named Seve who's having a vivid nachos related dream but has to contend with various bollocks - as it's often the case.
Tumblr media
If you are even marginally familiar with all the Kanjo-Bazooies and Konkey Dongs out there then you will recognize its sphere of influences right away. It's a proper tribute to that era of gaming up to the inclusion of the "correct" low video resolution settings and insane completion requirements. There is much puzzling and platforming to be had, tactical traversal and secrets-within-secrets to bamboozle and titillate your gamer's lizard brain. Genre freaks will feel very welcome here.
I will say that I find the character design especially pleasing. Aesthetically, I would place it somewhere in between Rayman. Belgian comic book artist André Franquin and web strips from twenty years ago or more. It's expressive, to say the least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a sign of good will from the game's part, this is the track that greets you as you plunge into the realm of your dreams of childhood:
Corn Kidz 64 is a short, fun experience, bedazzled by tight controls, surreal atmosphere and "Early Internet" humour. It does not overstate its welcome and only occasionally gets immensely frustrating. Its dedication to the N64 ethos is both a boon and a detriment, in that sense. Let me put it this way: I shall not be doing a 110% completion run any time soon.
---
Cavern of Dreams
As a direct result of me wanting more, here is Cavern of Dreams. Yet another N64 aesthetically driven title that came out last year but was promptly overshadowed by Funny Goat Game and Sexy Goat Game - as far as my own pop cultural myopia is concerned, that is.
Tumblr media
It is a small yet multilayered Collect-A-Thon with an emphasis on exploration rather than combat or complex platforming. There is no health bar and there are no traditional enemies. There is a handful of puzzles here and there, some of which might be legitimate head scratchers. The dragon baby is cute. I do have a couple of gripes with this one.
Tumblr media
Playing this game is, in a word, annoying. It is bothersome how weighted and limited the movement is, it is fastidious how the character collision is in relation to the environment, it is aggravating how it all affects the gameplay in small yet noticeable ways. Here's an example: you can use the traditional ground pound to gain extra height. However, in order to do so, you have to keep pressing the attack button while in midair. The problem with that is the game still registers it as an attack when you do so. As such, if you happen to be hugging a wall, atop a small ledge, this action will inevitably cause your character to hit said wall and propel you backwards, resulting in you falling to your doom. This happened constantly. Generally speaking, the control scheme doesn't feel ideally tailored to an experience that requires precise platforming. A repeated offender would be grabbing onto climbable ropes. Which is to say, sometimes it just doesn't happen. You'll float towards a rope and, if the collision isn't pixel-perfect, you will miss it entirely. Also, Baby is unable to jump above once he climbs all the way to the top, half the time. The later levels are worse in that regard as they need some amount of skill.

Speaking of which, something that will always make me consider quitting a game in a fit of rage is being sucked down a drain that expels me into a different area, forcing me to walk all the way back to where I was before. Once again, annoying is the word.
All that said, the saving grace of Cavern of Dreams lies in the exquisitely crafted, imaginative stages that compose the dreamlike tapestry of the game's aesthetics: living airborne vessels, desolate ice kingdoms, nightmarish art galleries that twist and distort your senses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The use of colour hues, sounds and deliberately non-contiguous spaces create this palpable atmosphere of both wonder and anxiety. A welcoming world may turn weird and alienating. A dream may turn into a nightmare. There is a depth beneath the surface presentation that is absolutely worth experiencing. I really wanted to like this game but, alas, I'm left with mostly mixed feelings. Regardless, it's an adorable title with some tinges of darkness and it might just be for you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
As a conclusive note, I find myself enthralled by the subtle similarities these games share as well as their abundant differences. All of them are stylistically reminiscent of a specific bygone era whilst being perfectly distinct in presentation, and they all are about Dreams...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are about exploring dreamscapes, lands where subconscious thoughts and memories materialize in daunting vistas of a forlorn past, comically bizarre hyper-realities from an active imagination or an infant's idea of the world around itself. Pondering about the familiarity of it all fills me both with comfort and melancholy: the parallelism of Dream, Childhood and Gaming. The distant memories of youth in correlation to the experience of videogame escapism are akin to a dream from which we are expected to wake... Well, now I just want to gush about Klonoa again!
In fact, I would go as far as to say that Corn Kidz 64's "plot resolution" feels like a direct parody of Door to Phantomile's ending, and it gets funnier the more I think about it.

One of my most consistent thoughts throughout 100 Gfs has been "This is a weird topic, but you've handled it surprisingly well." Some of the issues feel like unfortunate aspects of the culture in general, while others are topics that are handled so poorly so often that it really leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. It says a lot that Nozawa and Nakamura can take some of the least-liked tropes in the genre and actually do great things with them. A little self-awareness goes a long way -Mod Bubbles
//There are two reasons why that is the way it is.
//The first is that the very reason why 100 Girlfriends does a lot of what it does, and plays around with the ridiculous tropes it has, is purely to rip the everloving piss out of harem and romance as a genre.
//Rightfully so.
//But what's clever about it is they utilize these tropes and poke fun of them while simultaneously avoiding falling in the traps that said tropes have set for previous mangaka's.
//The cast of 100 girlfriends includes a literal MILF, who is the mother of one of the other girlfriends, and also is a blatant lolicon and shotacon; the main character's 12-year old cousin, a girl who became a masseuse purely because she wanted to grope women's breasts, someone's actual grandmother who is 89 in the body of an 8 year old, someone who is usually very stoic and serious but starts acting like an actual baby when she's coddled, someone who only dates you because you're also dating her older sister, an actual sleazeball drunk and gambling addict, a girl with a violence fetish, a fucking cat, and a BRITISH LOLI!
//And yet none of these bass-ackwards tropes put me off these characters because they are FUNNY! And they aren't done in a way that makes you dislike the characters because the entire purpose of why they're like that is because you're supposed to see it as a joke on characters in manga and anime who are like them UNIRONICALLY.
//The second reason I think was put best by Gigguk when he did a video on this series. Because the core concept of the manga is about a guy getting 100 different girls to fall in love with him, and share him with the other 99, there is no way in hell that anyone can take a concept like that with any due sincerity or seriousness.
//So Nakamura just said "fuck it!"
//100 Girlfriends can get away with what it does because from the VERY CONCEPT, you have no suspension of disbelief, so really, the way the manga carries itself isn't by trying to make you pick a team or get engaged in the narrative; it's by trying to find a brand new, absolutely absurd way to either make you laugh, tug on your heartstrings, make you audibly say "What the actual fuck," or oftentimes, all of the above.
//Like Danganronpa, 100 Girlfriends shares the premise of having this widespread colourful cast of different characters, all based on stereotypes and well-known gimmicks and tropes, constantly getting into unrealistic and stupid hijinks and situations, for people to sink their teeth into and react to, but UNLIKE Danganronpa, where I definitely have a mixed opinion on a lot of its cast (looking at you specifically, Danganronpa V3) I could not tell you a single character in this manga that I dislike, at least not outside the main cast.
//And I think the reason why that is, is the difference between Kodaka and Nakamura as writers, in that Kodaka's style of writing is very DATED and relies on more classical character tropes, whereas Nakamura's humor is very modern, and keeps up with modern day events, in a similar fashion to something like how South Park constantly rips the piss out of modern society and why it's so stupid. And Nozawa takes this absurdity and runs with it with the illustrations.
//Hell, in the most recent chapter of the manga, Uto quotes Winnie the Pooh, and they make a joke about how he went public domain, and therefore, discussing whether or not she's allowed to get away with that. And it's really goddamn funny when it doesn't need to be.
//Anyway, bottom line is I love this manga and anime too much for my own good. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I know you were talking about Glezra, but I’m still super curious about AWIA. What all have you fleshed out for your different kingdoms? What inspirations do you have for them? Any real world parallels or aspects to your world? Are there any communities under different rulings in the world?
OMGGGGG I COULD TALK ABOUT THIS ALL DAY. okay so i have several kingdoms where their concepts are somewhat to fully developed. here's a list.
Andanthe. so andanthe is a kingdom settled in a spot near the seaside, but mostly nestled in a forest grove. i based it heavily off of places i've been in new england, so they experience all four seasons and a considerable amount of precipitation, including snow. buildings are carved inside of large trees (deciduous mostly) or underground or slightly above ground to avoid flooding. i wanted to avoid having kingdoms while specific types of fairies exclusively inhabiting it, so andanthe is a very diverse kingdom population wise, but a considerable portion of fairies have moth wings, including the royal family. also i wanted to base the traditional clothes, textiles and architecture on some south asian cultures since the main character is south asian. (i mean she's not human technically but if she was, she'd be south asian.) andanthe exports quartz, gold, graphite and textiles to the other kingdoms, and have a mainly plant based cuisine. they are known for their strong army and due to their close ties with the seaside nation of the anwhines, they have a formidable navy. royalty and nobility wear forest green and gold, and this sets a trend for clothing styles throughout the kingdom.
The Anwhine Isles. so the anwhines are based off the caribbean/west indies bc i'm west indian and it would be illegal for me to not include a caribbean character if i'm world building. the isles are a group of islands in the middle of the sea. duh. but they're not that far from andanthe if u take a boat, which is why the two kingdoms have been close allies for millennia. their relationship has been a bit strained due to some #familydrama though. (the current king, marolas, is pissed that his sister althea refuses to take up her duties as princess, and morgan has unfortunately gotten caught in the crossfire.) the area doesn't really experience much "winter" weather, but they do have monsoon seasons and hot seasons and whatnot. alot of that is determined but what fruits are in bloom and stuff. they export pearls, sea foods, spices, and pretty textiles to their neighboring kingdoms. they also have a booming boat/naval resource industry and the best navy. the royal family, as well as a considerable portion of the population, have dragonfly wings. oh, and while they do have very colorful clothing, navy blue is the color that symbolized wealth and nobility.
Monerva. so monerva is a fairly new ally to andanthe, due to morgan and arwileth's tentative friendship. i say tentative because arwileth is kind of like a teacher's pet for the older and more powerful royals on the fairy council, and he gives status reports on andanthe's leadership because the morale on morgan being king is pretty shaky to her bougier political counterparts. that aside, monerva is located in a big and beautiful meadow surrounded by crustal clear river systems and a dense grove. they have a booming silk industry due to silkworms being plentiful in the region. their fashion reflects this: flowing white laces and cottons, floral perfumes, and colorful dyes (usually pastel pink, purple and blue). the most significant resource to their name, however, is that they are deeply connected to old forest magic, and use it to create healing medicinal resources and using magic for technological advancements. most of these tech advancements, specifically, were pioneered by arwileth. he's a bit of a prodigy in that respect. anyways, many of the fairies that live in monerva have butterfly wings; arwileth in particular has blue morpho wings.
okay finally, Ilwich. ilwich is located in a boggy/marshy/wetland area, with settlements nestled in, on, and around an interconnected weaving of mangroves trees. it's not super close to the other kingdoms, which kind of orbit each other, and is therefore fairly isolated both geographically and economically. therefore, they rely on trade and export of raw materials, as well as creating textiles and using imported materials to create things to export to other kingdoms--furniture, glass, potions, et cetera. due to the uhh. nature of their current leadership. they rely a whole lot on andanthe for economic support since the war. their clothing includes a lot of browns and dark greens, as well as flowy elements. in the past, ilwich had been a place of fervent religious history, and has catacombs full of texts dedicated to the Old Gods. (including the god Wrath, who is as u know. super important.) but uhhh other than that ilwich doesn't have much going for them. they pretty much just minded their own business until paladis' reign tbh. though due to current events the kingdom finds itself on the high council of fairies, which incites much drama between itself and the other kingdoms. fun! surely this won't cause any significant issues for anyone in particular. like say. the main character.
anyways yeah! there's some other stuff in development regarding the other kingdoms on the council, but those are Very half baked. so there is this. yippee

Mei-Ling Design Notes and Inspiration 1/2
Unlike her younger twin, Mei-Ling actually went through a large degree of changes compared to both versions of her design in the main timeline. Honestly, went through a large degree of some research and thought to get to the current design that I now have for Mei-Ling. I hope you find some of these notes interesting and fun to read.
Tumblr media
I say two designs, but technically Mei-Ling has like 3 designs: Vampire Hunter, the Darkstalkers OVA, and Vampire Savior. Really sad the only full body look of her VHunter design is literally her sprite. The illustration of her Hunter design from one of the covers of a Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers comic by Udon is quite the beautiful pin up shot, but makes the mistake of giving her the bracelets she has as part of VSAV design. Oops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her design is honestly not that different in the OVA compared to her VHunter design. Only big differences are the color of her clothes under her robes, her pants being a different color, the main color of her robe being a defined orange color, and how her hat is both taller and is both orange and yellow. Actually, sounds like a lot really, but design of the clothes themselves are not that different.
Tumblr media
Her VSAV design is a general overhaul of the Hunter design. I can only imagine the reason that was done is because they had to animate her for the 'Detached Souls' Dark Force and it might have been a major pain in the ass to animate her robe and sleeves. It isn't bad, but I hate the hat and prefer her robe being open rather than closed. It is genuinely surprising that despite being a non-playable character, the team gave her a different design. A nice consolation.
Tumblr media
OH RIGHT, I need to talk about what my thought process was. Sorry, just needed to note all the interesting design things regarding her different designs. So, I generally have stuck with the design she had in VHunter as I just prefer it more compared to her VSAV design. I might have given a jab to the artist who made that pin up of her for that Udon comic. Let me retract that cause I did basically the same thing when I first started drawing her back in 2020. Tweaked the colors here and there to my liking and made her sleeves not as large, but generally the same idea.
Tumblr media
Later on, added a little detail on her clothes that I saw an artist by the name of Murai do with her interpretation. This won't be the last I will bring up this artist, hoo boi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At one point, I changed the sash around Mei-Ling's waste to be an Obi Sash as to make things easier for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Around mid 2021, when I was getting more serious about my Cryas Darkstalkers mythos and even further with my love and obsession with the Shao sisters, I went about the process of giving them a makeover, truly trying to give them distinct enough designs. While Hsien-Ko was not too different as her core design was basically near perfect, there was a lot of room for change for Mei-Ling. I mean hell, she had different official designs anyway, what is stopping me from going ham. I mean hecc, look at this concept sketch when they were considering her design change from VHunter to VSAV. Quite a bit of thought. However, I wanted to go further.
Tumblr media
Since I wanted to flesh out the sisters, I went about thinking about their potential heritage, the time period they were alive in during the Qing Dynasty, women's fashion at the time for the potential social status they could have been in at the time, the occupation they were training for, and the fact that…well they are Chinese. Since Mei-Ling gives the vibe of being very into her culture and wanting to maintain it, I wanted her clothing to both show off her heritage and her role as a Xianshushi Mystic. Hsien-Ko is said to be more 'modern' in her mannerisms compared to her older twin, so why not have Mei-Ling be more traditional. The first thing to get us on track is to start at the beginning. Mei-Ling and Hsien-Ko were born in 1730 in China during the Qing Dynasty period. In my research and with corroboration with a friend of mine, I decided that the Shao sisters would be a mix of Han and Manchu, two ethnic groups that were the most prevalent at the time period. Their mother was Manchu while their father was Han. However, since their father was killed before they were born, they were more influenced in the ways of the Manchu people as they grew up. The Shao family in themselves are not among the imperial courts or the elite. However, because they have provided a great service over the centuries, they are given more leniency and not treated like the common folk. Plus, with eventually being trained to become Xiānshù warriors as their mother saw great potential in them, that helped to influence them as well.
To start with, let us begin with the robe. So, to my understanding in the main timeline Mei-Ling was generally based on the idea of Daoist priest attire. Doing some searches, jiangshi films did feature such priest like characters with that general idea, even with the color. However, I wanted to do a bit more looking. In my search, the open robe design that her VHunter and my design go with is something referred to a beizi (褙子).
Tumblr media
Some parts of Daoism do have their priest having an open robe design, but also the beizi in general was a form of wear that the Chinese people did wear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was around during the time of the Qing Dynasty and according to Wikipedia, it was something that was dominant among the Han women of the time. A nice way to acknowledge her Han roots. Yellow doesn't seem to be really a thing with actual Daoist priests' attire, but it just fits Mei-Ling so well, I stuck with that color. While the beizi is prominent with having long sleeves, I decided to trim it down enough to where it ends past her elbow, kinda like her VSAV robe's sleeve length. Ey, giving some credit to that design. As for the trimming, this card I came across showed it in a neat way where it is actually not just flat but has some dimension to it. I liked that and went with it, along with the idea of the trimming being orange.
Tumblr media
The hat is loosely based on a hat known as a guānjīn, shown on the far left of this image.
Tumblr media
The main timeline version was certainly not one to one about it. But honestly, I like the stylized, simpler idea, so I used that as a base. I took a lot of observations and notes from the way the OVA hat is drawn. However, I just prefer the hat to be one color, so I stuck with yellow. I liked the yin-yang symbol as well, so kept that too.
Tumblr media
Another minor detail about Mei-Ling's beizi are these almost padded looking pieces of cloth that follow her trapezius to around the middle of her shoulder. Honestly, I just made them up. These concept sketches I made show me coming up with the idea as I was thinking of her design. It just looks cool and neat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On to the garment underneath.
Tumblr media
With the Shao sisters also being Manchu, this is where some of the influence kicks in. The Manchu wore a set of clothing known as 旗裝 (qízhuāng). The specific kind that the sisters wear falls under something known as Bianfu (便服). Mei-Ling's bianfu is stylized to be a robe that is the length of a magua.
Tumblr media
The sleeves are loose and long enough to reach her wrists. The main part of the robe is rich red color while having trimmings and a collar of a lavender color. Contrasts nicely against her beizi.
You may be curious what is going on with the cloth around her waist. Honestly, it was only put there mostly to help solve an issue I had with Mei-Ling's design: the bagua mirror. So, in this shot from the OVA, it is held up by a set of straps.
Tumblr media
Ok, fair enough. But the issue is that nothing from the front suggest that those straps even exist. The mirror may as well just be magnetically attached to her a la video game style. In my concept phase, I was wondering what to do. One thing I did notice that was really cool was from the story 'Monsters and the Secret of Immortality'.
Tumblr media
Granted, the design of Mei-Ling in that story is wildly different from any incarnation of Mei-Ling, but it presented a neat idea: her mirror was holstered at her waist. Not only that, but it did also look a lot more like a bagua mirror in its design. The mirror's design in this story set the base for how I design the mirror, though I only have two rows rather than the typical three. However, she is wearing attire that doesn't really fit with either her Han or Manchu roots, so I needed to come up with something more fitting to her culture. In my research, I did stumble on something that fascinated me.
Tumblr media
What you see is not the original image that inspired me, but still illustrates the idea. Cloth at the waist held in place by a ribbon. I honestly don't know if that idea of garment has a name, but it struck a chord: Have the mirror hang around her waist.
Unlike any official design of Mei-Ling and to differentiate herself from Hsien-Ko, I decided to switch from the baggy trousers to a more straight cut pair. Looks nice and smooth and still goes along with the kind of trousers they wore in that time era. The color I chose just honestly meshed well with her bianfu, plus is warm compared the cool colors of the trim of her bianfu.
While the wristbands she has for her VSAV design are cool looking, something about them just doesn't mesh well with what Mei-Ling is supposed to be. While yes, she is a weapon master (and likely taught Hsien-Ko all she knew about weapons), she is presented more as the mystic of the duo. They look rough and tough. Honestly, would look better on Hsien-Ko in all honestly since she is in the thick of battle. However, I still wanted her to have something at her wrist. I chose to go with a simple orange jewel bead wristband. Simple and elegant for her.
So, if the mirror was moved to hanging around her waist, is there nothing at her back? For a while, there wasn't anything. But eventually, the idea of putting some kind of design back there did come to mind. Eventually, I landed on this design.
Tumblr media
Her ref sheet goes into to detail about it, but to put it simply dragons have a big thing with their family considering their mother upon using the Art of Unusual Transformation turned into one. According to what I found via searching Japanese sources, primarily the Japanese Wikipedia entry for Hsien-Ko, there is mention of their mother transforming into a golden dragon. That is very cool since the OVA and a few anthology stories show this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mei-Ling's official hairstyle is best described as a bob cut. I went with the OVA as a general base, but slowly overtime adjusted it.
Tumblr media
On both sides of her hair and near her hairline, there are these basically fangs. Despite her being more human in appearance, I thought it was still a nice idea to subtlety add some mildly wild elements to her since she is non-human. A bit crazier are these two pincer locks of hair. Honestly, I just took what was already part of her official design and exaggerated it into something cool. For some asymmetry, one is larger than the other. As for the general shape of her hair, I did fan it out more for volume as to make her hair different from her human form.
Mei-Ling's general body shape. Honestly, besides making her distinct from Hsien-Ko as they are both fraternal twins, I just wanted to really make her unbelievably beautiful. In a way, considering hardly anyone gives her the time of day because she is non playable, I just like the idea that she is actually very voluptuous and gorgeous. So that is why she has the general proportions she has. I wouldn't say she is skinny or the typical anime proportions: She is just fit, well endowed, and curvy. Among the Cryas DS cast, the only character that is around her breast and butt size is Felicia. As for why she also has tone to some parts of her body, the fact is she was conceptualized with that as you can see with this concept sketch of her official design. Mei-Ling has just about everything going for her in terms of looks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whenever she has appeared in games or media, Mei-Ling has had a multitude of different eye colors. I personally just stuck with green, like the OVA did. Green just looks nice on her, really makes her face mesmerizing. Specifically, I wanted the shades of her eyes to be more of like jade.
For now, will need to end things here for the first part of this design blog as I have used the permitted 30 images for a blog and the last bits require more images to explain things. So be sure to head to part 2, the final part right here:

Hi for the exchange my question is what would I be like I were in the kpop group Aespa and I’ll do a reading of you in a kpop group
Debut song
So the first thing is I feel like you would be one of the older more mature members that other people look up to as a leader sorta. I’m getting Namjoon vibes but also Jisoo vibes idk if you would be the official leader but maybe an older member everyone relies on like and older sibling like you would be older than the leader. I feel like your official color in the group would be a dark forest green color and I feel like you would be a main vocalist and you would be known in your group for vocals. I don’t think your group would have much members maybe like 4 to 5 at most. You would have a tight sibling like bond and you would have petty arguments with each other but at the end you all still love and comfort each other. I feel like you would have a better reputation compared to the other members I don’t think you guys would have much scandals so people would try to find anything to hate on you guys but overall you reputation would be quite classy as an idol. I think you would have many non idol friends I think you would hang around more Actors/Actresses rather than idols but idols I think you would be close with would be like Irene from rv, Nayeon from twice, and Scoups from seventeen. Your styling would be very feminine like the stylist would style you in skirts a lot also I’m seeing pearl necklaces so that could be something your associated with and you would also be one of those members who always dyes their hair a shade of brown or black and it would be styled longer. I feel like you would be popular with younger fans with parental issues bc you would have this nurturing aura that they can look up to. I also think if you were to be a brand ambassador you would be one from Louis Vuitton, or maybe ysl. Your group concept would be more mature and more vocal heavy like Mamamoo’s type of music especially their earlier days with the jazz influence. Anyways that’s all I hope you liked the reading! Also here are some pictures I think would match your image in the group or vibes

Hello 👋 thank you for the reading and aesthetic 💚
Your reading:
I'm sensing your position in Aespa will be as a sub vocalist, sub rapper and center, you seem to have a hold on the decision the team is making maybe you are a second leader, you will be different from the other members like the black sheep different style and Especially your mind and opinion are really open to the public you may like to engage with friends I'm actually getting this vision of you reacting to TikTok videos and even giving feedback 😂 i have this thought of you where the fans are saying you are 100% in a relationship and you are responding " single and ready to mingle " 😂😂 Oh my god this is funny you seem really famous than the other members, you may have some problems on stage like forgetting chaiography and you standing dumbfounded, i don't think that you will get along with all the members maybe because you guys have different opinions but yet yours seems to win so it makes them insecure, i see you going to Paris for fashion week and even participating as a model, you will have some problems with your weight but I'am feeling that you will have your own standers yes you will have a hard time since most of Kpop girls are skinny but I'm sensing you will be hwasa 2 . Idols you will get along with : Lisa from black pink , J hope from BTS, V from BTS, Ryujin from Itzy
For your aesthetic I'm sending something chaotic yet funny

Some random questions xd (optional dw)
do you like hermitcraft? cause im brainrotting abt it lmao
what is your fav color? mines green!
if you could pick any power in the clinic!universe what would you pick and why? personally i would pick Phils powers cause i want to flyyyyy
What DND moral alightment are you? if u dont know what this is dw, im a true neutral
what is your answer to the trolley problem? i think i would move the lever but idk
If you had to pick one persons lore on dsmp whos would you pick and why? i think i would chose quackity's
What is a fic idea you have but dont think would do well/ isnt something you feel like writing?
what is a comfort movie/show/video? mine isnt a movie but its a 3 hour long techno vid haha
given the chance to be in MCC who would you pick for your team?
i just felt like this btw:) you dont have to answer any of them btw^^
-👑 (king)
oooo these are fun questions!!!
no I don't watch hermitcraft, but I hear bits and pieces from the people on my tumblr dash and my twitter tl who do watch it. also, I've watched 3rd life and last life (and part of double life) which have a lot of the hermits in them, so I'm mostly familiar with the hermits through that (I will say that I am not immune to good times)
yellow is my fav color!
oooo I'd probably pick wilbur's power. siren abilities hello?? insanely powerful man. if not his then I'd go with niki's because I always wanted to be a waterbender like katara when i was a little kid
uhh I'm either neutral good or true neutral, not exactly sure which
I have no idea what my answer would be tbh
if you mean pick someone's lore as in my favorite lore, it'd be wilbur's hands down. he created such a complex and fascinating character who was incredibly consistent in his characterization, I brainrot over c!wilbur so often so everything from him is my favorite
oh god most of my google drive is full of fic ideas that either wouldn't do well or I just don't feel like writing lmao. one example is that I love coming up with aus of movies but rarely do I actually wanna write them out entirely. one movie au I think about so often but would never get around to writing is an au of the movie Push. Push is not a very good film. it's fun! but it's not good lmao. the concept was SUPER cool to me though. it's a movie about people who have psychic powers that are hunted down by an evil government organization yknow the drill, but the plot is about a guy in his 20s who is a 'mover' (has telekinesis) that's kind of down on his luck and doesn't have much of a life. he gets dragged into a plot to steal a metal briefcase because a 13 year old 'watcher' (sees the future) shows up on his doorstep and tells him she sees the two of them teaming up to find this case and she's convinced it has a shit ton of money in it. a lot of other stuff happens but the main two characters have such older brother/little sister energy that i literally can't stop thinking about crimeboysing it. it would be so fun but I'll never write it unfortunately.
hmm... one of my favorite self indulgent movies to rewatch just for fun is a super cheesy 90s film called hackers. the fashion is peak bad 90s fashion and the plot is so stupid, it's so much fun I adore it. I love rewatching it to cheer myself up
OOOOO GOOD QUESTION! ok i'm assuming you mean cc's I can pick. now the thing is, I suck at minecraft. so while I'd love to give myself a goated team so i can win, I don't think I'd have much of a chance of winning either way. but I'll give two teams anyway, one for a chance at the win, one just for fun content. so for a chance to win: tommy, phil, and shubble. for content: wilbur, wisp, and jack manifold. it'd be terrifying but also hilarious.
thank you for the questions these were really fun!!

((whats shea like fashion sense wise?? what pla clothes does she wear?? does she stick with the same outfit or switch it up sometimes??))
Tumblr media
HELLO ! && thank you for this ask i love asks esp when i get to ramble about my dummy child. so i have already put some thought into a lot of this before but i ain’t gonna link all that bc now i can have it all in one space. also catch all every image + art in the following is mine etc etc. throwing this under a read more for big images !
so i wanna start with the PLA era clothes. she does wear a galactic team uniform that is altered based off the shaymin themed dlc top seen here. the flora pattern, the belt + pouch, & the color scheme are very similar. however shea does wear the survey corps standard as well as summer & winter variants.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i do try my best to keep as much from the game as possible as i really want shea to blend into canon better & also this shit all slaps. anyway as i said her standard uniform is based more off that shaymin dlc but modified.

here is a concept wip i have where you can see the modification. the dlc outfit does have shorts that outside of cutscenes when i first played, i did not have wear. normally she wears pants. shea likes her legs covered in some fashion. the pants are a dark green & that lime green from the dlc outfit is switched to that darker green instead. the top is modified to be more stylized into a hanbok while keeping the other aspects. she also wears a sleeveless turtle neck underneath though that’s not shown here. the floral gracidea pattern is very prominent. something to note is that when shea woke up in hisui--- she was already wearing this outfit. she did not have modern clothes as she’s not from a modern era, so it’s to be assumed that arceus modeled this outfit to be similar to the survey corps uniform at base already. shea prefers function over all else.
her survey corps uniforms tend to be light weight, but durable. thick but not so much it would be difficult to move around in. while she does have a few various pairs, most have been repeatedly patched & repaired. the original outfit she woke up in has been duplicated as the uniform itself has been pretty threadbare for hundreds of years, though she keeps & still holds onto all of these uniforms in the flower paradise. usually if she is out on an adventure she tends to pack a uniform with her. usually one that’s best for colder temperatures like the thick winter one & one better for warmer temperatures.
when it comes to outfits outside of the uniform she tends to dress in very casual clothing that tend to also be somewhat hanbok inspired.

this is my lil reference w/ her faceclaim + the type of hanbok that i mean. it’s a very modern styling that has a more sleek silhouette. her faceclaim is wearing a much more traditional style that shea would adapt during the hisui period all things considering, while on the left the model would represent what shea wears in more modern day settings. below is a unfinished wip, again, that showcases this more modern day setting.

however shea doesn’t just wear traditional dressings in modern day. while at the flower paradise she does tend to wear what’s more comfortable to her like these hisui-era clothing, she does have a fairly extensive wardrobe for modern adventures. she favors the very modern trends of outwear & athletic wear as fashion choices. often donning cropped sweaters & hoodies + high waist shorts with leggings & comfortable, but durable, shoes like sneakers or boots. shea tends to wear things that create a silhouette in some ways. big hoodies or cropped to give a bit of bigger shape with more slender pants or such. her color palettes stay in the general pastel range & don’t move towards darker jewel tones. lighter color schemes are a hint toward a youthful nature, with darker hues that hints to maturity & while shea depending on what time period may be mature & older the keep to the pastels & soft tones help mask her to still seem like a normal 15year old.
