My art goals for this year!!!

1.Try to work on MRP, a webcomic my friend is writing and I am drawing.

2. Try to draw at least one picture a month (to post)

3. Record more

4. Draw with more traditional pieces

5. Post more (even if they are WIP)

6. Try to draw some Fanart

7. Draw in my ‘pretty’ book and at my desk more

8. Work on my project Waves and get it done this year

These are my goals. However, if I am unable to do or complete one, I am going to try to not hold it against myself. It’s okay to fail. It’s okay if things don’t go as plan. My motto is “At least try.” So that’s what am going to put to practice. That’s not saying am not going to try my best to complete these goals these years. I am just going to take it easy.

Probably my last post for 2022 so I did a #artvsartist with some of the pieces I liked best this year. My spouse is amazing! #SevenToEternity is one of my all time favorite comics. @rickremender writing with @jomeopena art are off the charts. I own the floppies, the trades, and soon the hard cover collection, but I missed these when they came out. Couldn’t find them anywhere. Today they arrived because Savvy is amazing and got them for me. Goodness these are phenomenal. Hey, yes it’s me MrBlack! I’ve been meaning to make a post dedicated to everyone who reps my art and all the amazing folk that follow me here on IG. With out y’all, with out my community I couldn’t do what I do. So Huge thanks for all your support and believing in me & my art! If you just found my work and or have been following me on this crazy art journey. Here’s a bit about my path as an artist. I chose art as my life path when I turned 25, while traveling in southern Japan. Graduating jc in 2010, I then moved to the Bay Area. To poor for art collage & not wanting to be in debt all my life for painting, I then found myself working from home. Through many life trials I finally settled in downtown Oakland. Working a 9-5 job in SF and putting in hrs in my art studio at night. 7 yrs later, Covid happened and like a lot of ppl, I then lost my jab, house, relationship, studio and had to move from the bay. But! It was the push/transition I needed to try n hustle art 24/7. Now, I see myself as a traveling artist and feel so thankful everyday I Get to wake up & do what I’ve been working towards for longtime! my very specific #artgoal for 2024 is to stop drawing people with incorrectly small foreheads

#looking back at ocie drawings and its like where is that man's skull. brain. why are his eyebrows half an inch from his hairline #anyway i realllly want to draw more this year.. uni and/or job be damned i'll make time for it...i want to go back to drawing almost daily #i don't like forcing myself to draw every single day but most days is good even if its just small doodles #i think i will get like a nice sketchbook like a moleskine adjacent book to draw in bc maybe it'll encourage me to idk be a bit bolder #instead of just always doing no background pencil drawings on loose sheets of a4 or whatever ratty sketchpad... #first i need to just. relearn some basics bc im worse than ever @ anatomy and general confidence in drawing without references #and then i want to try new things more and try to evolve a bit ... #life could be dream ..
