my boyfriend is not any flavour of queer. he says he "wishes he was" because queer people "just seem to understand the world so much" by which i assume he means we by default actually consider society wrt sex and gender, but he is unfortunately both cis and het. he's checked.

he carries around a copy of "the little book of lgbtq" in his backpack at all times in case he needs to look something up.

a good chunk of his youtube history is queer history / queer media / 'what it's like to be x' videos. he thinks all of you with the less famous identities (ie not the L G B or T) are very cool and funky and hopes you have a good day.

he knows he's straight because he has kissed men on several occasions and was not into it sexually. one of those times was a gay dude who promised to buy him drinks all night in exchange for a kiss and my boyfriend is nothing if not a wee whore. one of the others was kissing his gay friend who was depressed about not being able to hook up with anyone, because he is a very sweet wee whore.

he would do it again because he is very neutral on the kiss itself (not into it, but not grossed out by it. it's just a kiss, innit) and because he doesn't want people to be so lonely and sad that they cry in the smoking area of the club.

That one chapter of The Beat Goes On but Branch does have friends outside Poppy and the Snack Pack AND is actually a introduction to Kismet as a second group of main characters!!

It is so humiliating with a character whose only crime was not wanting to hurt his stupid friends' feelings by telling them he'd rather stay home alone.

But complaining is useless, so time to rewrite it is.

The chapter would be called "The Other Friends" and the premise would be the same: Poppy thinks Ramón is giving her excuses to no going to parties for the last weeks

The confrontation about the excuses could be talked out, such a twisted solution wasn't necessary

"Oh no, sorry, I would have loved to go to this... Super fun party" Branch say with a unconvincing smile "But I already made plans with my other friends and they-" he noticed the skeptic look Poppy was giving him and stopped "What?"

Poppy sighed in disappointed "C'mon, Branch. Everyone knows you don't have other friends"

"Excuse me???"

"Look, it's okay, I get it!" she hurried to reassure "All those years of isolation affected you I-I understand that you still need a break from so many people from time to time! And... you still haven't grasped everything that having friends means. I know. But something important in interpersonal relations is honesty so-"

Poppy took a breath, uncomfortable with the conflict.

"So yeah, the excuses have to stop"

It would have been a very good intervention if he was really lying

After that Branch introduces Poppy to his childhood friends (and secret band) who, to no one's surprise, are just as outcasted as him

i really don't like the "religion is a tool, some people use it for good, some people use it for bad" thing because it's so... passive and individualistic. the problem isn't the religion, it's the Bad People using religion in a Bad Way. it has no accountability for objectively bad structural and systemic issues. it has no empathy or nuance for cult members, who i'm not going to say are all uwu innocent or don't do legitimate harm but are often victims themselves, and a lot of people would do better if they knew better but like you don't just choose to join a cult one day you can't just choose to snap out of one either. like, jehovah's witness is not a neutral thing that some people use for good and some people use for bad. it's a cult. they use cult tactics to keep people trapped and dependent on them. there are doctrinal and structural and systemic issues that are harmful. i hate this idea that it's solely a personal, individual issue if someone gets sucked into a cult or high control religion. i hate the idea that individual people are pulling these beliefs out of thin air because they're Simply Just Bad People and not because some religions have actual systemic issues. of course there are people that just want to hurt others but some people legitimately believe this is the best way to be. and that doesn't absolve them of their harm but if we treat it like it's only an individual issue these cults and high control religions have free reign to continue doing harm.

SO after reading this fic for at least ten times I've come to a realization about trolls' hair and i'm surprised it's not used often!!

so we all know all troll species have hair and they all use it for different purposes if not for the same thing. and theres not one troll type that doesn't possess hair EVEN the techno trolls.

it's literally a vital part of them, specifically for pop trolls!. they use it to carry their eggs and their young. it can change color, shap, length. they can stretch it, climb, grap and literally EVERYTHING.

their hair its particularly their other limp! and i haven't watch the shows fully but in the few episodes i watched they treat their injured hair like a broken arm or leg and even feel pain from it!

which got me thinking whats cutting hair is like to a troll? and when i read that fic that i linked i came to a conclusion/headcanon that cutting a troll's is similar to declawing a cat!

because if they can feel immense pain from similar to a broken body part then cutting it is the same as declawing just without the surgical process which would leave a troll in an unimaginable pain and to spice things up it could also bleed .

and the most affected by this this would be pop trolls because the environment they live in requires for their hair for survival, camouflage and swinging from tree to tree! it's also their most strongest part if not more stronger than their own body.

so cutting it specifically when they're already using it, is a death sentence itself because when they lose it what else could they do? i know they don't use it as much in trolls 3 than they did in the first movie but my point is they can run but without hair how do they escape? how can they reach places so high without it?

I mean this is stright up best angst fanfic material! I'd love to see more people use this idea!

so yeah my whole point of this is cutting trolls hair=decalwing a cat just more twisted and horribly bad because they do literally everything of their day to day stuff with it!
