Tumblr media
It was Valentine’s Week and you were absolutely, extremely, horribly miserable.
You didn’t particularly care about the celebrations, but the feeling of loneliness first began to creep in when the student council appointed a Valentine’s Day Dance committee and made them decorate the entire school.
There were banners and streamers hanging everywhere. The culinary club was selling heart-shaped cookies and the broadcasting club was busy urging students to get their dance invites every few hours. You wished the PA system would malfunction and they would finally shut up.
Some boys even had the genius idea to capitalise Valentine’s Day and ask people out on behalf of the students who paid them for their services. They called themselves Cop-Your-Crush.
Classes were being interrupted all day long. You were witnessing a grand proposal being made multiple times a day. Just today, you had seen three girls being asked out and each proposal had been better than the one before.
Karina got asked out through a song the choir group sang for her. She quite literally burst into tears because her boyfriend, Soobin, still remembered the song they had first kissed to.
NingNing got asked out when a member of Cop-Your-Crush sweet-talked Mrs. Kim into letting him take over her presentation. He’d prepared a cute montage using the pictures provided to him by her boyfriend.
Yeji got asked out by the cheerleaders. They had prepared a special cheer for her, courtesy of Heeseung, also a member of Cop-Your-Crush, and his girlfriend, Chaewon, who was cheer captain. They were both Yeji’s best friends and had spared no expense in helping her boyfriend deliver a memorable proposal.
You thought the entire concept was corny, but it would have been nice to have someone ask you out too. You didn’t even have any expectations. Just a simple Hey, will you be my date to the Valentine’s Dance? would have sufficed.
Needless to say, you were irritated and cranky. You were debating begging your mom to let you skip school tomorrow. It was the thirteenth of February, so Valentine’s spirit was definitely going to be at an all-time high.
You slammed your locker door shut. Slumping against it, you clutched your books to your chest and sighed deeply. If only you had the courage to ask your crush to the dance. It was sort of surprising that he still didn’t have a date.
He was really attractive and really popular. You wondered why—
“Keep moving, dummy,” a voice popped from behind you, and you couldn’t help the groan that left your mouth. Deciding to not acknowledge the person further, you pushed yourself off the locker and turned to leave in the opposite direction. However, they seemed to have different plans for you. Throwing an arm around your neck, Yang Jungwon twisted you around and said, “Class is this way.”
“Piss off, Yang,” you snapped, trying to not stumble as he dragged you along.
“Are you coming to the basketball game tonight?” Jungwon inquired.
He wasn’t much taller than you, so when you glanced up at him, you found your faces only a few inches apart. “Why?”
“We’re playing Riverside High. You know there’s a bet between our schools, right? Losers have to jump in the lake at midnight.”
“Okay. Let me know if you lose and I’ll meet you there to enjoy your humiliation.”
Jungwon narrowed his eyes and flicked your forehead. You let out a sound of protest and slapped his hand away. “You think you’re so funny.”
“I think I have better things to do,” you retorted. “I’m supposed to pick up my sister after her soccer practice and drive her to her friend’s house for a sleepover.”
“That can be taken care of,” he answered immediately. “Riki will do the chauffeuring in your place.”
You snorted. “No.”
“C’mon!” Jungwon complained, moving to stand in front of you. You crossed your hands and raised an eyebrow. “I need you at the game tonight.”
“Why?”
“Because—” he hesitated— “because we always win when you’re watching from the stands. You’re our lucky charm.”
Jungwon was making absolutely no sense. The Bears of Eastwood High were one of the best. They didn’t require lucky charms to win games. Besides, you’d never benefited from the so-called fortune Jungwon claimed you possessed. He definitely had an ulterior motive for wanting you at the court tonight.
“You won the Christmas game,” you pointed out. “I wasn’t there that day. I was with my family at my childhood home.”
“Well, I thought you were at the game,” Jungwon corrected. “That’s why we won.”
You sighed and rolled your eyes. Stepping past his figure blocking your way, you said, “You need to get rid of these superstitions.”
“Please!” he begged, following after you the way a lost puppy would. “Winning tonight would give us a ticket to regionals! Can’t you let me have this?”
The desperation in his voice was so evident that you couldn’t help the crack that appeared in your resolve. You weren’t one to believe in luck, but you still carried an Omamori to stay safe.
You hadn’t exactly been the recipient of any good fortune lately, but your life had been sailing smoothly. Come to think of it, you’d probably subconsciously begun to depend on the charm.
You were a hypocrite for making fun of Jungwon’s superstitions.
“Fine,” you relented. “I’ll come. But—” you added immediately upon seeing a wide grin replace the pout on his face— “after I’m done with my chores. I’m not leaving Hyeri with Riki. He crashed his car into a trashcan last week. I was with him. My life flashed in front of my eyes.”
Jungwon looked slightly amused. “Do you think you might be able to make it before half-time?”
“Easily.”
“Nice,” he popped. The two of you had arrived at your classroom, so he ruffled your hair and bid you goodbye before making his way towards his friend group. “I owe you one.”
“Yeah, you do,” you muttered to yourself.
Tumblr media
You finished dropping your sister earlier than expected.
Her soccer practice had run short and when you’d checked your watch after seeing her off, you’d realised that the first quarter of the game would be ending in a few minutes.
You glanced up at the screen displaying the scores as you walked into the gymnasium.
8-3. Eastwood High in the lead.
Good luck was a scam. Shaking your head, you searched for your best friend, Eunchae, in the stands. Your eyes stopped on a girl who was aggressively waving her hands in the air.
You smiled and waved back, making your way to her.
“I was worried you’d be late,” Eunchae said.
You hummed. “Hyeri finished her practactice early so I was able to get here quicker. I don’t even know why Jungwon asked me to come. We’re in the lead.”
“Better safe than sorry,” she popped. “Second quarter just started. We should pay attention.”
You turned to look at the court. While you’d been talking to her, Riverside had scored a 3-pointer. Eastwood was only 2 points ahead now.
You could hear both schools’ coaches screaming despite the loud noise of the audience. Cringing a little when Mr. Jung blatantly cursed at Jungwon and told him to get his head out of his ass, you decided Eunchae had been right about being better safe than sorry.
“Timeout!” Riverside High’s coach yelled. “Timeout!”
The whistle rang and the playing 5 went jogging over to the sidelines. Jungwon’s eye caught yours as he scanned the stands and you waved at him awkwardly. He smiled and waved back, looking rather relieved to see you.
“You guys are so cute,” Eunchae commented.
You whirled on her. “Excuse me?”
“I’m just saying!” she exclaimed, raising her hands defensively. “Jungwon and you would make a really good couple.”
“What makes you think so?”
“Other than the fact that he’s completely whipped for you?” Eunchae shrugged. “You’re into him as well. No! Don’t give me that look! I know you are. I’m not fucking blind, Y/N. You say he’s annoying but I don’t see you pushing him away. I think you love the attention he gives you.”
You crossed your arms over your chest, suddenly feeling awfully exposed. “You’re delusional.”
“Am I though?” She raised an eyebrow. “You both are together all the time. You can pretend all you want, but I know your petty and childish banter is just a cover for the horrible amount of flirting that’s hidden underneath.”
“I don’t flirt with him!”
“He flirts with you and you entertain him! You claim to dislike him but hang out with him at school everyday! An idiot could tell by looking at you how much you enjoy being around him.”
You glared at Eunchae. “I don’t appreciate being psychoanalysed.”
“You just don’t appreciate the truth.” She shrugged. “I don’t know what’s stopping you from asking him out to the dance, but I hope you come to your senses. You don’t wanna regret missing out on someone who cares so much for you.”
Thankfully, the whistle rang before you could formulate a reply. The game began again, and you focused your attention on the court.
It was Eastwood’s way and the ball was in Jungwon’s hand. He aimed high and his eyes set on Jake who was standing at the far end of the court. However, instead of throwing the ball with all his might, he only flicked his wrist.
The ball bounced between a Riverside player’s legs, and Heeseung, who was waiting a little behind him, grabbed the ball immediately. Instead of dribbling, the boy passed the ball right back to Jungwon.
Jungwon caught it without stopping and sprinted to Eastwood’s side of the court. Your jaw dropped when you saw him manoeuvre his way through Riverside’s defence so flawlessly. Even though you’d watched him play multiple times, you’d never really been able to comprehend how good he was.
He’d covered the court by himself without needing to stop or backtrack. It was as if he knew the opponent’s move even before they decided to make it.
The crowd went wild the moment Jungwon executed the layup effortlessly. The whistle for half-time blew a few moments after and Eunchae turned to you.
“That was so good!” she squealed. “He could go pro so easily!”
“He could,” you agreed. “He really is very good.”
You had to admit—watching Jungwon in his element made your heart beat at speeds you didn’t even know it was capable of reaching. You convinced yourself it was the adrenaline and the anticipation from watching the game. Your dad never sat still whenever he watched his favourite team play in the World Cup.
“It’s time for the Kiss Cam.” Eunchae nudged you with her elbow. You turned to look at the big screen hanging from the roof of the gymnasium. The camera focused on Juyeon and Chaeyeon. The couple grinned and pointed at their recording on the screen in excitement before the latter grabbed the former’s collar and pulled him into a kiss.
You felt a smile form on your face. You’d always thought the two of them were one of the cutest couples in your school.
The camera then focused on Mr. Hwang, your biology teacher, and Mrs. Jung, your calculus teacher. You hooted and joined everyone else in the stands as they encouraged the two teachers to kiss.
Whoever had decided the Kiss Cam victims was a genius. Mr. Hwang and Ms. Jung were the youngest faculty members in your school. It was a popular opinion amongst students that they looked cute together. Some even placed bets on whether it would be Mr. Hwang to make the first move or Ms. Jung.
Naturally, the two of them didn’t kiss. They just smiled in embarrassment and waved at the camera, asking it to focus on someone else instead.
You waited eagerly to see who the drone would target next. A jolt passed through your body when you saw yourself on the screen.
Eyes widening, you shook your head and tried to tell them that you were single. The camera didn’t move despite your protests, instead zooming out to include Eunchae in the frame instead.
You paused.
Looked at her.
Considered.
Raised an eyebrow.
“I’m down if you—”
“To your left, you idiot!” she exclaimed, grabbing your shoulders and whirling you around.
Yang Jungwon was standing in front of you with flowers in his hands. His hair was dripping with sweat and his cheeks were flushed. He was panting, but there was a shy smile on his face.
Your heart stopped as he got down on his knees and the entire gymnasium burst into cheers.
“Hey,” he popped.
“Hey,” you answered with much effort. Then added stupidly, “You’re on your knees.”
“No comment about the flowers?”
“Not when you’re on your knees for me in front of the entire school.”
“Oooh, I didn’t know you were so kinky.”
“I didn’t know this was why you begged me to come to the game.”
He laughed and the sound was like music to your ears. You were nervous. You were rambling. There was no way he was going to ask you to the dance. He wouldn’t be stalling so much if he was. He wouldn’t—
Oh.
He was giving you time to wrap your head around what was happening. This was clearly intended to be a well-planned surprise meant to catch you completely off-guard. He—
“Yeah, I would’ve been really bummed out if you hadn’t shown up. My efforts would have been for nothing.”
“So I’m not actually your lucky charm?”
“Of course, you are. I feel the luckiest when I’m with you.” Your chest swelled with an emotion you couldn’t identify. The gymnasium faded into the background and all you could hear was the sound of your heart thudding against your ribcage and Jungwon’s voice as he asked,
“Will you make me lucky again by accompanying me to the Valentine’s Dance?”
Tumblr media
The game had ended twenty minutes ago.
Eastwood had won by 10 points. You’d thought the difference was pretty good but your Mr. Woo, your school’s coach, didn’t seem to share your opinion. He’d claimed that Riverside never even should have been able to get within 15 points of Eastwood.
He’d been especially tense in the second half of the third quarter when the opposition had begun scoring back to back baskets. It had all worked out in the end nonetheless, all thanks to Yang Jungwon, the MVP of the match.
You still couldn’t believe he’d asked you out and you refused to believe he’d done it in such a grand way.
He was the definition of a jock and goofed around in school all day long. He was charming, sure, but you’d never known he was capable of pulling off something this big.
You’d never even suspected he was a romantic.
Your phone dinged and you unlocked it to check who was texting you.
[eunchae]: wya?
[y/n]: parking lot!! are u here? i’m leaning against my car
[eunchae]: noo i’m home :( btw are u still waiting for him??
[y/n]: yeah he asked me to but the team hasn’t come out of the gym yet
[eunchae]: yikes i heard mr. woo was hella mad we only won by 10 points.. maybe he’s yelling at the players right now
[y/n]: i’m p sure he is LMFAO
Your fingers hovered over your phone’s screen as you waited for Eunchae to type her reply. However, before she could send it, you felt the device being grabbed from your hand.
“What the—” you started, but relaxed when you saw Jungwon standing in front of you with an amused expression on his face. “Yang.”
He quirked an eyebrow. “Someone could have easily kidnapped you, you know?”
“We live in the most boring part of the town.” You snorted. “Baek Seung threatening to chop his neighbour’s tree on local TV was the most interesting thing that happened this year.”
“That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be on your guard,” Jungwon said and moved next to you, leaning against the side of your car as well. He was wearing black sweats and a red hoodie. He smelt of cheap soap and his hair was damp, making you realise that he had probably showered. “Besides, Baek Sung actually followed through. We have a real criminal in our ranks.”
“Didn’t you literally let five sheep loose in our middle school three years ago?”
“That was just a harmless middle school graduating prank.”
“There’s no such thing as a middle school graduating prank.”
“Tell that to the current 8th graders who are planning their prank. I hear they’re going to stuff the hallway outside the principal’s office with helium balloons so she won’t be able to leave.”
You stared at him, a small smile playing on your lips. Jungwon’s eyes dropped to your mouth for a millisecond before he looked into your eyes again.
“Why did you ask me to the dance?” you asked and turned on your side to face him. It was a stupid question but you were genuinely curious.
Eunchae was right before. Jungwon flirted with you all the time and you always entertained him. You enjoyed the attention he gave you. But if this thing between you was just platonic, and if it was never going to progress into something real, you needed to know now.
You didn’t want to hope and wait for something that was never going to happen.
“Sunoo said I was an idiot for not shooting my shot with you,” he replied and turned on his side too. “He threatened to make a move on you if I didn’t get my shit together before Valentine’s Day.”
You snorted.
“Oh, also,” Jungwon added. “I really, really like you.”
You felt a tidal wave of emotions override your senses. Euphoria, nervousness, breathlessness, giddiness, uncertainty and this inexplicable urge to squeal washed over you.
Your heart went haywire inside your chest when Jungwon leaned closer to you and dipped his head so that his face was right in front of yours.
“You’re blushing,” he whispered.
You squeaked and buried your face in your hands. He grabbed your wrists and gently moved them out of the way. “Can I kiss you?”
“I think that would be a health hazard,” you croaked, looking at anywhere but him. “My heart is beating concerningly fast right now. What if I drop dead?”
“I can do CPR.”
The corner of your mouth quirked up in a small smile. Your heart beat slowed down and you began feeling at ease. You wondered if Jungwon could tell that this was the first time someone had confessed to you.
The entire concept of dating and being in a relationship was foreign to you. You doubted Jungwon had much experience in the field himself since he’d only had one girlfriend in kindergarten, but he seemed confident.
You trusted him to take over the wheel and guide you through the strange waters of love.
“Okay,” you breathed and closed your eyes. “Kiss me.”
His hands cupped your cheeks, his soft lips brushing against yours. You sucked in a breath and just stood there, not really knowing what to do.
Your hands itched to grab onto something, so you shifted closer to Jungwon and clutched the front of his hoodie in your fists.
He smiled against your mouth as you rose on your toes and tilted your head to the side.
But then you realised something and hastily broke the kiss. Jungwon stared at you in confusion, but before he could ask what was wrong, you blurted, “I like you too.”
There was a pause. He didn’t say anything for a long moment, so you clarified, “I thought I should make that clear. I mean, you confessed but I didn’t confess back even though I feel the same way and what if you thought I wasn’t into you. I am into you, by the way. I’ve been crushing on you since forever but I never knew how to say it—”
Jungwon swooped in for a second kiss and you melted in his arms. You could get used to the feeling of his lips on yours. They fit together perfectly.
“You are so cute.” He giggled after detaching his mouth from yours. Resting his forehead against yours, he continued, “Eunchae told me last week. She urged me to confess because she knew your stubbornness would never allow you to make the move.”
“What?” you exclaimed, jerking away from him. “Where’s my phone? Give me my damn phone, Yang!”
He grabbed arms before you could lunge at him and search him for your device. “Relax!”
“I’m going to kill her!”
“Why?!”
“Because—” you sputtered, struggling to get out of his grip— “because it’s embarrassing! I was pretending to not like you but you knew I was crushing on you the entire time!”
“It’s not embarrassing!” Jungwon said. “It’s normal—Y/N stop!”
You let your body fall limp in his arms. “I’m going home. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“You’re seriously not going to let Eunchae’s nosiness stop us from having our first date, are you?”
“What?” you asked and moved out of his grip.
He shrugged and shoved his hands into pockets. “It’s nothing special. I was going to ask if you wanted to go out for some food.”
“Oh,” you replied blankly. “Don’t you have a celebratory dinner with your team though?”
“I can ditch them.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“Let me correct myself: I already ditched them. I want to spend tonight and celebrate with you.”
Your heart swelled with happiness. “Really?” When was the last time someone outside of your parents prioritised you? You genuinely couldn’t remember.
“Of course. Do you wanna get some McDonald’s?”
You nodded, but before he could make his way to the passenger’s seat of your car, you said, “Just so you know, I feel the luckiest when I’m with you too.”
Yang Jungwon kissed you for the third time, and by no means was it the last, or even close to the last one you shared that day.

You let out a sigh of content.
Having just graduated, your senior year finally came to an end. Your last summer before college has just started. Bittersweet feelings linger in your heart as you realize your highschool chapter is over. Scrolling through your camera roll, you reminisce on old memories and experiences. Giggling to yourself finding pictures you had thought you forgot about. Most captured you and your three best friends. Karina, Ningning, and Sunoo.
The four of you have done just about everything together and you couldn’t wait to get your summer rolling, especially as Sunoo wouldn’t be joining you guys in college just yet. You cursed at the world, he was just a year younger than you all. It wasn’t like you guys were going to be separated anyways, he was your next door neighbor, his family having moved in right after Heeseung’s family left.
Heeseung… your mind starts to fill up with childhood memories. You couldn’t help but wonder how he was and what he was doing. You turn your head to the side. There on your nightstand sat a hello kitty framed picture of you and Heeseung at the town’s fair. You picked it up, holding it in your hands as you reminisced on your younger days. The two of you being shy of 12 years old, the summer before he left. The picture showcasing the two of you plastered with huge smiles eating funnel cake. You giggle a bit thinking about the events that occurred that day. Your mind couldn’t help but wander to one specific moment.
For some reason both of your parents allowed you two to ride the ferris wheel alone. Your face falls a bit as you start to remember. You wish things had never changed then maybe Heeseung would still be as close to you… maybe he would’ve kept his promise like he said.
“We’ll wait right here for you guys, okay?” Your mom says, ushering you both to the ferris wheel line. Excited bubbled inside the both of you as you two finally were getting to spend a ride alone without having a parent chaperone. Hearty laughs leave the both of you as you enter the ride, sitting across from one another. The sun was finally setting, leaving a sun kissed color in its path. You knew you’d remember this forever.
“The sky is so pretty Hee!” You excitedly said, taking the disposable camera your parents had bought you out of your little hello kitty purse, capturing the sky from your view. Heeseung watched you with so much adoration. He couldn’t help but smile at your actions, loving every second he spent with you. After getting your little picture, you put the camera back into your bag and turn to look at him, a smile permanently etched onto your face as well.
“Yeah— just like you,” Heeseung bluntly says, eyes never leaving yours. Your face starts to heat up and you look away from him. You had always had a crush on Heeseung, everyone knew that. Your heart pounds against your chest, you want to throw up everywhere. What you didn’t realize was that everyone also knew how much Heeseung liked you. Your little puppy love could be seen and felt from miles away. “I like you Y/n,” he continues, breaking the tension.
“I like you too Hee–,” he cuts you off. “No I really like you Y/n,” he sternly said, leaning into you. Even being across from one another, you felt suffocated, the ferris wheel capsule was extremely small you noticed. You wanted to run away. this had to be a dream right?
“I do too Hee,” you whispered back at him. The ride comes to a halt, you were at the very top. Your face red as can be, you were waiting for him to laugh saying this was all a joke. But he didn’t. He leans in even closer and that’s when you felt it. He took your first kiss. Your eyes went wide. For a moment you felt like you were floating amongst the stars. He pulls away, giggling at your reaction as a blush painted his face as well.
“We are going to be together forever Y/n, I promise and I'm going to marry you! And we’re going to have a big house and our very own hamster and even a cat! I know you really love cats but I really want a hamster!” he rambled holding your hands as his eyes never left yours again. Your heart was so full you felt like you were going to explode from joy. At that time, it was you and him against the world.
Forever you had hoped. Small tears formed as you remember the day he moved. Forever was long gone. You wish the world had helped Heeseung keep his promise. The heart shattering memory played in your head. You have tried for years to forget. But can anyone really forget their first love?
“D-Do you really have to go Hee…,” you choked out as tears fell down your face. Your parents gave you both some time to say goodbye to one another as they packed the last of the Lee’s things into their moving truck. The tears kept falling and falling. He reached his hand to your face, wiping them away. His heart shattered that day, he didn’t think his parents were serious. But slowly things were being packed up until this very day and he knew he had to say goodbye eventually.
“I’m sorry Y/n… I have no choice… please don’t cry,” he says to you, your sobs intensify. It was his time to cry as well, tears fell from his eyes as he watched you, this was never a sight he enjoyed.
“We’ll call all the time, okay? I’ll make sure we do, remember what I said Y/n! I’m going to marry you!” he choked out. “We’ll be like Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel Y/n… I promise, I’ll make sure my parents let us visit, okay?” he rambled on more. Pulling you into a tight hug, he let you cry on him as he wiped his tears away, holding you one last time. You didn’t know it was going to be the last time. You pull away, wiping away your snot and tears.
“I-I have something for you,” you stuttered, feeling overwhelmed as you pull out a little charm and a tiny picture of the two of you. Before you could say anything, the two of you were cut off as Heeseung’s mother spoke up, letting you two know they had to leave in a few minutes. Your tears always came rushing back but you held them in. You hand him the picture and a charm. A small smile crept its way to his face. There in your hands was a tiny little hamster charm accompanied by a pocket sized photo of the two of you from the ferris wheel, giggling as he remembered how you guys attempted to try and take photos together with your little camera, hoping the pictures came out well.
“I have a matching one!” you said, pulling out another hamster charm except yours pink and his gray. He pulls you into another tight hug, never wanting it to end.
“Don’t forget me Hee…,” you sadly uttered, his heart breaking right there and then. How could he forget you?
“I’ll never forget you Y/n, I mean everything I said!” He pulled you away giving you a stern look. You give him a weak smile, your heart feeling like it was never going to feel better.
“Just promise me Hee,” you softly spoke, sticking your pinky out. “I promise Y/n,” he links his pinky with yours, the two of you pressing your thumbs together, solidifying it. And with that, the two of you make your way to his driveway, as your parents called for the both of you. Your families say their last goodbye, promising to keep in contact and to visit. With one last final hug goodbye, they make their way into the truck. Pulling out of what was once their driveway and onto the road, Heeseung waved goodbye from the window up until the truck was out of sight.
You broke down. Your parents consoling you as your never ending tears kept falling down your face. You never really knew what heartbreak really felt like but you knew for damn sure this had got to be it. There you were, inconsolable as your first love headed away for a new town.
You didn’t realize how badly you were really crying. Puddles of tears trickled all onto the frame you held. No promise was kept as the months went by and your contact slowly started to dwindle. The Lee's getting too busy with business trips and Heeseung making new friends and joining so many after school clubs. The Lee’s never visited since then. Your mother telling you they just had a lot on their plate and that they’d make time eventually.
That was when the silence came.
Heeseung eventually stopped calling. The fantasy of that little house of yours being taken away by a tornado, forever ripped apart and shattered. The only time you heard or saw anything having to do with him was the year you got gifted your very first phone at the start of freshman year. Your mother had reached out to the Lee’s to give them your phone number. He added you on snapchat from his contacts, never once even starting a conversation with you. You never dared to attempt as well. Too many days had passed and you just couldn’t bring yourself to it. You were just glad to see he was alive and well, even if he never used the app. He never posted anything. Hell, he watched your stories for a week and abandoned the app, never once seeing him appear again.
Before you could get deeper into your thoughts and feelings, there was a knock at your bedroom door.
“Y/n~ are you up yet? Your mom told me to come up here,” you heard a voice from outside your door speak. Sunoo. You sniffled and wiped all your tears away as best as you could, setting the little frame back to its rightful place beside your bed. “Y-yeah I’m up!” you yelled back, hoping you didn’t look as bad as you thought you did. Sunoo opens your door, taken aback by your red puffy face and eyes.
“Were you thinking about him again?” He softly asked, joining you in your bed giving you a sad frown. He knew about Heeseung, you practically made his life a living hell the day his family moved in next door yelling nonsense about how he will never be Heeseung. He knew how much he meant to you and oftentimes he’d catch you looking at old photos with tear stained eyes. No matter how many boys you kissed and dated, you just never seemed to be able to move on. He was gonna fix that for you this summer. No more crying over Heeseung. Sunoo was on a mission now.
“Maybe…,” you weakly said followed by a sniffle. You were embarrassed to say the least. You hated how he had this effect on you. No matter how many boys you’ve been with, Heeseung was over there in the back of your mind. Even the time you lost your virginity to the school’s hottest boy Beomgyu, you couldn’t help but secretly wish it was always Heeseung. It was sickening and you knew he didn’t care for you anymore but for some reason you couldn't get him out of your head. You tried your best to suppress your feelings but you knew it was always going to be there.
Sunoo groaned, throwing his head back, tired of seeing you this way. He hated seeing you sad and he especially hated seeing you hung up over some boy you liked as a kid. You were grown now and he was going to make you get out there and forget about Heeseung.
“Y/n this is your last summer before college, we have got to get some new eye candy,” Sunoo says into your face, shaking you dramatically. “You have got to get over this dude Y/n! It’s been five years! YOU WERE A KID,” He exclaims, rolling his eyes. You sighed, hanging your head low. Sunoo had a point. You have got to try harder.
“You’re right…,” you let out. Putting his hand on his chest with a shocked expression plastered onto his face, he looked at you with his mouth hung open. No way you were finally agreeing with him on this matter.
“I’m gonna take this as a sign to completely come to the conclusion that we will never see each other again,” you glumly uttered. Yes your heart hurt but it was simply the truth. He ghosted you the year after he moved. You needed to get him out of your head once and for all.
“Well… let’s start with that picture right there,” Sunoo points to the frame beside your bed. You frown. You shook your head a little, reaching over to the frame and just setting it faced down. Baby steps you told yourself. Sunoo lets out an exhausted sigh. Some things he just needed to be more patient with.
“I’ll let you pass with that one for now, now get your butt up and go get changed and ready! If you haven’t seen what Rina said in the chat, she wants to go downtown to shop and eat! So let’s get up! They’re waiting!” It was your turn to groan as he ripped your blanket off of you and dragged you out of your bed, literally.
You were ready to finally get rid of Heeseung. For good.

“Finally you’re here!” you heard a familiar voice shout as you walked into the designated brunch spot you frequented. You spotted your friend Karina waving for your attention next to Ningning. You and Sunoo make your way over, sitting across from the two. “Took you two long enough! I’m starving,” Ningning muttered, picking up the menu to flip through.
“Sorry! We could’ve come sooner but someone had a problem starting with Hee and ending with Seung,” Sunoo said to them. They both gave you a small eye roll.
“Y/n you have got to get over him,” Karina said, looking down at the menu in her hand. “It’s been literal years babe,” she added.
“Yeah, I still can’t believe you turned down Beomgyu, he was literally in love with you after you both… you know,” Ningning trailed on. You cringe at the memory. Just after losing your virginity to him, Beomgyu started to get clingy real fast, constantly texting you every second of the day, walking you to all of your classes, wanting to be with you even after school, giving you zero time to yourself. Of course you were fine with those things as you were interested in him at first too. But every single day? You couldn’t take it any longer. It was exhausting the way he love-bombed you.
“Yeah why did you ever end it with him anyways,” Sunoo spoke up, not remembering the details.
“Because, he was creepy and weird and even if the sex was good, I felt suffocated, PLUS he said Hello Kitty was stupid…,” you said, reminding them, your cheeks turning red from embarrassment as you admitted the last part. No one was gonna hate Hello Kitty and get away with it.
“You are something else…,” Karina said back, shaking her head. They knew how much Hello Kitty meant to you and that was surely something they did not wanna mess with. Before anyone else could speak, the waitress came by to take your order. This was going to be a long day. You ordered a creme brûlée french toast and a caramel iced coffee. Heeseung loved french toast too, you remembered.
Boy was this going to be a long summer for you.
“Anywaysss, this summer is project “hot girl summer” for miss Y/n over here,” Sunoo breaks the ice. You roll your eyes as a smile crept onto your face. You couldn’t help but feel immense happiness, thinking about how your friends cared for your well being. You felt so lucky that the world had brought the four of you together. They were your entire world. You probably wouldn’t have made it this far if it weren’t for them.
“Good because I wanna head to the mall and get some new clothes. Perfect timing! We have got to get you sexier things to wear!” Ningning exclaims excitedly. Something inside of you couldn’t help but get a bit excited. You were ready for a change and you were ready to get rid of Heeseung once and for all.
But you couldn’t help but feel as if something bad were going to happen.
You shake the thought off and you engage into whatever conversation your friends are having, laughing your heart away. You had to make this last summer count.
After about what seems to be almost an hour and a half, you and your friends head to the mall. Thankfully, everything downtown was in walking distance so you didn’t have to worry about Sunoo having to find parking once more.
Walking into the mall, you guys entered the first clothing store you saw.
“First of all, we gotta get you some lingerie or something, you cannot keep wearing all of those Hello Kitty underwear you have,” Karina judgingly said.
“Heyyy! They’re cute,” you offendly spit back with a pout. “Again, surprised Beomgyu even gave you some dick after seeing— OUCH!” Ningning yelps in pain as you smack her arm. She rubs the inflicted area, trying to soothe herself.
“Yeah you cannot expect to get laid like that anymo— OW!” you smacked Sunoo next before he could say anymore. Without realizing, Karina was already filling up a little basket full of matching sets for you. You couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. Were your Hello Kitty underwear really that bad? Your thoughts were disrupted by Sunoo as he called for your name, holding up a few mini skirts.
“Try these on right now,” he said, pushing the skirts into your hands as Ningning followed suit with some tops and dresses. Already pushing you into the nearest dressing room, they demanded a fashion show. Meanwhile, Karina was hand picking the best lingerie she could find for you, making her way to the checkout, keeping her selections a surprise. Your friends were insane people.

Finally, from hours spent in the mall, you guys were ready to make your way home. The sun was finally setting as you four walked back into the direction of the restaurant your day had started at. With your hands full of bags, you swore you’re never going to spend this much money in one go again. “It was for a good cause,” you hear Ningning's earlier statement fill your mind.
Was this really going to help? You couldn’t help but feel doubts within you as the thought of Heeseung came crawling back into your head.
The sunset was the same sunkissed colors of red and pink that day you shared at the fair. This was getting pathetic. He doesn’t care about you anymore.
“Alright, we’re here, thank you guys for helping me with this case,” Sunoo spoke up, opening his trunk to put your bags away. Karina and Ningning smile at you, giggles escaping everyone’s mouths as you all take in the moment. It was days like this you all appreciated each other more.
“No worries, plus I cannot wait for you to see the lingerie, you’re gonna love them!” Karina excitedly squeals, pulling you into a tight hug. She leans into your ear whispering “send pics,” pulling away and giving you a sly wink. Hitting her shoulder, you shake your head with a toothy smile.
You guys say your last goodbyes as Karina and Ningning make their way to Karina’s car, you and Sunoo pull away, making your way back home. Man was it convenient for him as he lived right next to you.
“By the way, my mom just texted and asked if you wanted to stay for dinner tonight, she said there are surprise guests?” you asked puzzled. “What is Ice Spice going to be there or something?” Sunoo asks back laughing. You joined in. “Actually, she won’t tell me who it is so we’ll see… so are you down for dinner?” you asked again.
“Sorry not tonight, I already agreed to have dinner with my grandparents today,” Sunoo replied back. You were bummed as meeting new people always made you anxious. “But I’m free other than that so tomorrow we can do something again?” He asks. You nod your head telling him it was okay.
As you guys turn down onto your street, a boy on a bike passes by, catching your eye as he looks at you for a second, riding past Sunoo’s car. There was something oddly so familiar about him.
“Woah, cute guy… never seen him before, hope we see him again, maybe he could give you some action,” Sunoo piped up as he pulled into his driveway. You smacked his shoulder earning a dramatic yelp from him.
“Yeah… let’s see,” you said back, rolling your eyes as Sunoo helped you gather your things, walking you across the lawn to your house. He gives you a little hug and tells you to tell your parents he said “hi” before making his way back to his house. You opened your door and was immediately met with laughter and some distinctly familiar voices. Yet your head couldn’t quite pinpoint it. The door opening catches the attention of your mother.
“Y/n? Is that you? Hurry in!” she shouts from the kitchen, sounding a bit impatient. “Hold on! I have to bring things upstairs real quick, I’ll be back down!” you shouted back and ran upstairs. Walking into your room, you threw all of your bags into your closet, making a mental note to put them all away later and to try on the things Karina picked out for you. Without a second thought, you ran back down, curious as to who your mother was talking about.
Heading towards the kitchen, your steps come to a halt.
Were you hallucinating or were Mr. and Mrs. Lee standing right before you?
“Oh my Y/n— you’ve gotten so grown up and beautiful, I may just cry! Come give me a hug!” Mrs. Lee spoke up, one hand covering her mouth to hold back tears and the other extended to pull you into a hug. “It’s been so long, how have you been Y/n?” Mr. Lee asks you, it was his turn to pull you into a hug. Still stunned, you thought this was a dream. This had to be some sick and twisted dream.
“I’ve been okay, you know… just graduated and stuff,” you shyly said, suddenly getting anxious. Does this mean Heeseung was here too?
“Yes! We are so sorry for not staying in touch, oh how we wish so much to have stayed here but Mr. Lee’s new job required so much traveling!” Mrs. Lee spoke up, sadness filled her tone.
“Oh no worries, life happens, it’s wonderful to see you guys, are you two just visiting?” you asked, taking a seat at the dining table, looking at them. They had visually aged but they were still the same sweet couple you remember them to be.
“There’s something we have to tell you guys actually…,” Mrs. Lee trailed on, a sheepish smile on her face. She looked at her husband and looked back at us. “You tell them honey!” she excitedly demanded, seeming a bit giddy. Mr. Lee gives a gummy smile.
“We moved back into the neighborhood!” He shouts. Your parents both let out an “oh my god” as everyone was shockingly surprised. Your father getting excited that his cooking buddy was back and your mother getting excited now that she has someone other than you to gossip about the neighborhood.
“Oh my god, that’s so fun! What made you guys come back?” you asked, your interest piqued as you genuinely wanted to know. It’s been five or so years since they last moved.
“Well, Heeseung actually got into a college here, so we decided to move back and settle,” Mrs. Lee said. “Hmm what was the school name again?” she turns to her husband and asks.
“Decelis University honey, you’re always forgetting,” he laughs.
Your heart fell to your ass. Your mouth hung open, a visible reaction of surprise shown on your face. No way this was real… you had to be dreaming. Before you can speak up, your father beats you to it.
“Oh? That’s where Y/n is going! That’s so exciting, you hear that Y/n? You and Heeseung can be friends again!” your father joyfully claimed. “Speaking of Heeseung, where is the boy?” your mother asks.
“He should be here soon, he went on a bike ride before we left to see if anything changed around here. I’m sure he remembers where the house is!” Mrs. Lee speaks up. Bike… riding?
Oh no.
The realization comes crashing down onto you, you already have seen Heeseung. You wanted to throw up right there and then, this could not be happening right now. All of your emotions start rushing back to you as you excuse yourself to leave. Your mother sees your discomfort and follows you out of the kitchen a few minutes later. You make your way out heading towards your room, needing to sit down. Taking deep breaths in and out, your heart felt like it was going to collapse any moment. Your tears come flooding back the same they did this morning. Your breathing increases and you start to hyperventilate.
Was that really him? This can’t be happening, not right now.
Your heart felt as if someone just ripped it out of your chest and through it into oncoming traffic. No matter how much you wipe your tears away, they just keep coming back. Your head shoots up. There was a soft knock at your door. Your mother opens it, a weak smile showcasing on her face. She shuts the door softly, taking small steps towards you.
Your mother had always known how much you liked Heeseung. Your father always thought it was just mere puppy love, thinking you’d move on eventually. I mean who wouldn’t have? You two were only just kids. But your mother knew better. She always did.
The following days after the Lee's departure, she remembered having to hold you in her arms for hours as you hysterically cried thinking about the boy. The following months after, she knew you were still affected despite you telling her you were okay. She’d always occasionally catch you crying, hearing faint sounds of sniffles coming from your room. She always made sure to make your favorite desserts or meals to cheer you up, subtly letting you know she was always here for you. You knew you always worried her so you tried your best to suppress the feelings. But moms know best.
Sitting down on your bed next to you, she wraps her arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a tight hug. You lean your head onto her shoulder as your tears continuously stream down your face. Leaning her chin on top of your head, she hums into your hair to calm you down just a bit.
“Hey baby, it’s going to be okay, I promise… do you want me to tell the Lee’s an excuse so that they can go home? We don’t have to do this if you aren’t ready yet,” she softly said in an almost whisper-like tone as she rocked you a little from side to side. You shook your head. You knew you had to face him one way or another, you mind as well get it over with.
“I-I’m okay…,” you hiccuped trailing off. She laughs a little. “Are you sure? I can really make an excu–,” cutting her off you chuckle, wiping your snot filled face and tears away. Your mother was always like this. She was always willing to do whatever it took to make you feel at ease. You couldn’t have been more thankful for having such a wonderful mother in your life.
“Sunoo said it was “mission forget about Heeseung” summer, so that’s what I'm gonna do,” you let out, untangling yourself from your mother’s arm, sitting back up. You wipe off the non existent dust off your skirt, hoping your mother would understand. She lets out a heavy sigh.
“If this is what you want, you know I’m always going to support you and whatever you choose to do– but I will be checking on you even more than usual, got it?” she sternly ends, squinting her eyes at you as she gives you a harsh point almost scolding you a bit. You both break out into a fit of laughter.
“Well, whenever you’re ready to come back down, the Lee’s will be joining us for dinner tonight– if that’s oka–,” you cut her off once more. “Mom, it's okay!” you dramatically sighed. “Heeseung is nothing to me now! I just threw him out the window in my mind,” you giggle picturing the scene. Your mother shakes her head, a huge smile plastered on her face listening to your silly thoughts.
“Whatever you say Y/n~ The boy should be here soon, so get cleaned up and make sure you look good! Show him what he’s been missing out on!” She excitedly lets out, giving you a kiss on the cheek. She heads to your door, but before leaving she turns her head back giving you a sly wink, then shutting the door. Her footsteps slowly disappear in sound as she goes down the stairs. You stand up, walking towards your vanity. Sitting on the seat in front of the mirror, you sighed heavily.
You looked insane. Eyeliner everywhere and your hair a mess. You put on a smile as you get on to working on your makeup once again. Fixing your wings and making sure to add your touch of glitter, you finish off with a clear gloss on your lips. You brush your hair out, making sure it was neat enough and definitely didn’t look like you were just crying your heart out. Thankfully, your oh so dear best friend Kim Sunoo, bought you some eye drops not too long ago, making sure you never walk out with red eyes ever. He knew the amount you cried no matter how much you tried to defend yourself. Some day you knew it’d come in handy.
Well today was the day that’s for sure.
You grab the eye drops, squeezing a few drops into both eyes, carefully blinking them in, hoping they wouldn’t mess your eyeliner up. You set it down, looking once more into the mirror for a final check. To your surprise, your face didn’t look as puffy as you thought it was. Thank you for the wonders of makeup. Satisfied with how you look, you walk to your closet, standing in front of your full length mirror beside it. You check yourself out, taking note that your outfit seemed cute enough already.
You had on a sort of short light purple pleated skirt, paired with a simple black corset crop top and sheer thigh high stockings. Was this too much? Again, Sunoo did help you pick the outfit out earlier as, in his words, this makes you look “sexy yet cute” and will “attract all the single boys in our area.” Feeling the need to cover up just a tad bit more, you open your closet to grab an oversized, cropped, black cardigan to wear over your top. That should be enough. Giving yourself one last look, you walk out of your bedroom door, happily humming to yourself as you skip down the stairs, going back to where your parents and the Lee’s were. Catching the attention of both sets of parents, they all looked at you as you stood at the kitchen doorway. You give a tiny wave, an awkward smile on your face. You walk to the dining table, pulling a seat out to sit next to your mother. Mrs. Lee catches your attention.
“Oh Y/n sweetie, are you okay? Your mother says you weren’t feeling too well,” she concernedly asked you. A chuckle leaves your lips.
“Don’t worry Mrs. Lee, I’m okay! Just something going on with my friends,” you lied, smiling back. Your parents definitely knew you were lying and Mrs. Lee couldn’t help but wonder if her own suspicions were true as well. Deep down, she knew how much your friendship with her own son meant to you. She also couldn’t help but feel guilty for how you both drifted apart, always thinking she should’ve convinced her husband to stay in this neighborhood a little harder. “Well, Heeseung should be here any minute now, food’s about done.”
You take a deep breath in, mentally preparing yourself. Maybe you weren’t ready for this. It was a little too late now though… plus you didn’t wanna ruin your parents excitement having their close friends back in town. You loved your parents and there was nothing more you wanted but to see them happy as well, no matter how much you were hurting inside. But man did you have a lot to tell your friends later. Your deep thoughts are soon broken as your dad speaks up.
“Oh Y/n! The Lee’s wanted to know if you wanted to come to their house this weekend for a barbeque party?” You nervously giggle as you weren’t really sure what to say. “You can invite your friends as well! Your parents have told us how close you were with the Kim’s son next door,” Mrs. Lee speaks up. Your palms start to clam up and your heart starts racing.
“Y-Yeah… sure I’d be happy to go, I’ll let my friends know! Thank you,” you shakily let out. Both of the Lee’s nod as your mom gives a single happy clap, filled with immense joy. “Perfect! And you’ll make your famous tiramisu right?” your mother grins, nudging you with her elbow. Shaking your head with a grin, you couldn’t help but agree. “Ooh Y/n you make sweets now? You’ve always had such a big sweet tooth,” Mrs. Lee said.
“Oh she sure does, wait till you try some of her macarons!” your mother exclaims dramatically, slamming her palm onto the table for a little smack sound effect. The two women get up filled with laughter, as they start to help prepare the table for dinner. “Do you guys need any help?” you asked, getting up from your seat.
The doorbell rings, catching everyone’s attention. “Y/n dear, could you grab the door? That should be Heeseung,” Mrs. Lee sweetly spoke up, hands filled with plates and utensils. “Uh… yeah… sure,” you sighed out, heart pounding against your chest. You definitely really weren’t ready for this. Again, that same bubbling feeling started to rise, you swear you were about to throw up right there all over the dinner that was being set onto the table. Surely this couldn’t be bad– right?
Making your way out the kitchen, you softly walked to the door. Your steps suddenly feel like you're walking on a floor full of hot lava. You oh so desperately wished you could just disappear into thin air right now. Please world, let you spontaneously combust with no trace of your well-being. As your body trembles a bit, you take in a deep breath as you shakily reach for the door, unlocking the lock and twisting the knob. That french toast from earlier fighting the urge to regurgitate right onto your floor. You pull the door open, confirming the sight you saw earlier from Sunoo’s car.
Lee Heeseung in the flesh.
Exactly how you saw him earlier in the day, clad in his gray hoodie and black jeans, bike leaning on the side of your porch. He tucks his phone back into his pocket, looking up to see who was appearing before him. The two of you lock eyes. He looks you up and down, taking in your appearance. He surely looked different, you thought. He no longer wore his glasses, his face was heavenly defined, and he grew to insane heights, towering over you. He had to be at least six foot tall you thought… yeah he was huge. You couldn’t help but feel butterflies in your stomach, you were sure that you were attracted to him. You swear you could just faint any minute now. Without a care or a single word being spoken, he pushes past you, making his way into your house and into your kitchen.
What the fuck?
Taken aback, you close the front door, locking it behind you. A frown worn on your face as you try to take in what just happened. Following not too far behind him, you hear your parents excitedly yell his name. Appearing before you in the kitchen, you see him giving your parents both a hug, a small smile plastered onto his face. He wasn’t being serious right? It felt as if he was trying his hardest to ignore your presence. You held back your disappointment as tears desperately wanted to fall from your eyes. This effect he had on you was pathetic.
Now feeling offended as you watch them all engage in conversation, you make your way back to your seat at the dining table. You let out a huff, just waiting for this day to come to an end. Aside from his shitty attitude, you couldn’t help but think about the way he surely did grow into all of his features. Though he sported the same black hair he has always had, you couldn’t help but think how cute and fluffy it still looked, or the way his doe-like eyes still sparkled when you looked at them.
Well to you they still sparkled.
You also couldn’t help but think about how it’d feel like to have him enclosing you against the wall, towering over you or picturing yourself sitting on his lap as he held you with his big hands, making out with you. You squeeze your thighs together, naughty things fill your mind as a blush crept onto your cheeks.
What was wrong with you? Why were these thoughts filling up your mind? Before getting a little too flustered, you were brought back into reality as the chair across from you was being pulled out to be sat on. You look up, there Heeseung took a seat. He catches your eyes again, an uninterested look on his face. You simply look away. His aura felt suffocating. He was making you feel so small in your own home. It was sickening.
But man was the so fucking hot. Puberty had done him well that’s for sure. Your mothers sensed awkward tension between the two of you as they brought the food out to be set. Your fathers take their seats at both ends. Your mother takes a seat next to you and his mother next to him. Pouring yourself a glass of water from the pitcher your moms had prepared for the table, your throat feeling drier than ever, you gulp down nearly half of your cup. As you all settle in a bit, you start to dig into your meal. Silence fell upon the table as you all took a moment to eat a bit.
The silence almost made you want to curl up into a ball and cry. Mr. Lee clears his throat. “Heeseung, guess what?” he asks his son in a joyful tune. Heeseung cocks his eyebrow, looking at his father as he takes another bite of his food. Mr. Lee grins, looking at you and back at Heeseung. “Y/n is also going to Decelis University, isn’t that so fun?”
Your cheeks start to heat up as you awkwardly take another sip of your water. Heeseung looks at you. You could feel his stare burning into his skin.
Why was he being like this?
“What are you studying?” he asked, tone seemingly uninterested as if he was forcing himself to speak with you. Yet that didn’t stop the butterflies from filling up in your stomach. You had missed his voice. His voice, now deeper than it was before, runs through body. Your body trembles just a tiny bit. To you he seemed bored yet that was not going to stop your heart from doing olympic flips inside of your chest. “Um, psychology…,” you trailed awkwardly, playing with the food on your plate. He nods, more immersed into his food than he was in you.
Maybe people do change… maybe he really didn’t care for you anymore. You purse your lips into a flat line, frustrated at how things were going. Maybe you really did need to forget about him.
“Well Heeseung just got his very own car! I’m sure he’d love to drive you to school as well,” Mrs. Lee spoke up, trying her best to defuse the tension. “Mom,” Heeseung whines, disappointed in his tone. She gives him a stern look. The younger boy sighs annoyedly. His mother always forced him to do things he never wanted to do in the first place.
“I-It’s okay really, I’m fine taking the bus when the time comes, trust me, he doesn’t have to,” you shakily let out. Yet again, you felt as if you were going to throw up all over this table. “No he will Y/n, don’t worry, I’ll make sure of it,” Mrs. Lee smiles at you. Heeseung rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed at his mother for offering his services. You awkwardly pick at your food, as the parents started up a completely new conversion amongst themselves.
Stealing peaks at Heeseung every so often, you wondered why he was being so weird. Did he not miss you this entire time? Were you really that forgettable to him? You frown to yourself, finishing what was left on your plate, not realizing how fast everyone had eaten. You get up from your seat, giving a helping hand as you start to clear the table for everyone and making your way to the sink. Finally, away from the view of the table, you set the dirty dishes down.
You let out a deep shaky sigh. Tears slowly well up in your eyes once more. You tilt your head up towards the ceiling, trying your best to hold them back. You hated that you were such a big cry baby. You decide to start on the dishes, giving your mother a little helping hand, trying your hardest to think positive thoughts.
Back at the dining table away from your line of hearing, your mother speaks up, catching Heeseung’s attention. “Heeseung, you really have gotten so tall and handsome!” she expressed in awe. “Can’t you believe Y/n used to be a little taller than you back in the day? Now look at her! So short,” finishing her statement, she covers her mouth as she laughs, the other parents at the table join in.
Heeseung simply chuckles back. You were very small, it was almost as if you barely grew in height the last he saw you. If Heeseung was being honest, you caught him off guard. You looked completely different. Your hair is longer, your curves grew in, and even the way you dressed surprised him. Heeseung didn’t mean to ignore you, he really didn’t. He was afraid he’d stutter and embarrass himself.
You probably hated him anyway. So he made the conscious decision to make it seem like he just didn’t care. You surely had new friends now. But the thought of you, was driving him a little insane. That wasn’t the same Y/n, was it? He kept sneaking peeks at you like a kid having his very first crush. Well you actually were his very first love. For some reason, you were making him feel a bit hot and bothered. He needed to get away from you, he didn’t even think his parents would even move back to this place. He wanted to forget about you. There was no way you still felt the same after so many years.
It was his fault anyways that you both stopped speaking. He couldn’t forgive himself and he figured it was best to keep you out of sight and out of mind, embarrassed and nervous thinking of the way he must’ve made you feel. It’s been so long, it wasn’t like you cared–  right?
Seeing you today just made him want to jump all over you. The nerve of you to wear that little skirt… Did you know his favorite color was purple? The moment he saw you, impure thoughts filled his mind. Thoughts and images in his head of you, bent over the table with your little skirt, all for him. He knew it was you he saw in that car with that boy.
Who the hell was that guy anyways? There was no way you wanted anything to do with him… you had already replaced him. For all he knew, that guy could’ve been your boyfriend. He needed to put an end to these thoughts. The two of you were no longer friends and here he was thinking about you in compromising ways. He felt like a creep. He felt himself getting a little too excited in hopes that maybe, just maybe, you were the bigger person and would look past his nonsense and maybe talk to him. He missed you, he always has.
But he was the one that ghosted you and he couldn’t forgive himself for what he ruined and he knew there was no hope of rekindling what was once there. It seemed like you had a boyfriend anyways and the thought of that just sours his mood. For some reason, it just made him all the angrier. He wanted to just kiss you in front of everyone to let the world know you were his girl first to begin with. Deep in thought, he hadn’t realized you were already back until he saw his empty dinner plate being carried away by his mother.
You sat back across from him. He locks his eyes onto you, taking the way you looked in once more. Man did he want to take you right there and then. He felt so filthy thinking about you in such a way surrounded by not only his parents, but yours as well. He shifts a bit in his seat, having to keep in mind that you were already taken. He was always selfish thinking you’d wait for him. To make himself feel worse, the thought of you doing lewd actions to anyone but him, made him feel the need to punch holes through walls.
Why was he so upset? He couldn’t even bring himself to speak to you normally anyways.
You felt heavy eyes on you as you sat in your seat, looking up from your lap, your eyes meet Heeseung’s. This was happening way too much for your liking. You look away and back onto your lap, fiddling your fingers together, nervous as to what he was thinking. He looked scary. Your breathing still a bit shaky, you were just counting down the minutes till the Lee’s left. But you knew they’d be here awhile, that was typical of both your families as they loved to linger and talk about nonsense. Your legs shaking nervously, you let out a deep sign, your anxiety getting worse as the time flies by. “Why don’t you show Heeseung to your room and catch up a bit? I’m sure you guys would love to talk amongst yourselves.”
You spin your head at the speed of light to where the voice was coming from. Your father takes a sip of his drink. “Go on, we’ll give you two some space,” he adds on. Shocked, you looked at your mother, hoping she’d save you, but she gave you a little shrug shaking her head. You knew your dad never took your feelings for Heeseung seriously. Taking a mental note to have a stern talk with him later, you stand up from your seat, legs wobbling. “Uh… sure– if it’s okay with you of course,” you hastily spit out, hoping he’d turn you down.
To your surprise, he stood up from his seat, making his way towards your side. What the fuck was going on. Was he not just ignoring you not too long ago? Your heart pounding against your ribcage, you scurry your way out of the kitchen, Heeseung follows behind.
Heeseung knew where your bedroom was already, your house was still the same aside from minor renovations from the past years. As you lead the way to your room, he couldn’t help but trail his eyes down to your bottom. The thigh highs on your legs not making anything better for what he was going through at the moment either. Walking up the stairs, his eyes catch a glimpse of your underwear… Hello Kitty underwear? He smirked. Maybe some things about you never changed and boy was he right.
When you open the door to your room, he was met with Sanrio galore. Hello Kitty plushies littered your room followed by every possible character that franchise had a hold of. Hell, your bedsheets and bed were splattered with just as much.
You walked in and sat on your bed, the nerve wracking anxiety eating away at you. You swear you could just jump out of your window right now to escape this. Too deep into your thoughts, you didn’t realize the fact that he closed the door behind him. You were definitely going to throw up sooner or later.
The tension was awkward and your heart was heavy. What were you supposed to say?
Lee Heeseung was in your room and he looked extremely hot.
He takes in your room, it looks completely different. You had taken time to really change things. He scans around and a certain wall catches his eye. There on the wall, littered with many pictures of you and your friends. There he saw you and that same guy he saw you with earlier in so many of the pictures. Why was he always there? It pissed Heeseung off to no end. Old pictures of the two of you nowhere in sight. He was upset to say the least. Did you really hate him that much? His temper starts to get short. What he said next shocked the both of you.
“Did you really have to dress like a slut for dinner?” he spits, catching even himself off guard. Your head shoots at him, a disgusted expression lay on your face. “What the hell did you just say to me?” You stood up, crossing your arms as you looked at him.
This was not the Heeseung you knew, that's for sure. Your feelings for him were thrown out the window and forgotten. He was being thrown out the window in your head once again. “Did I stutter?” he cocks his eyebrow at you as your face displays offense.
“What the hell is your problem Heeseung,” you bite back, your temper being shortened. You cannot believe this was the same guy you were crying over the entire day. He laughs at your face. “What’s yours? I’m not the one having my ass and tits hanging out for the whole world to see,” he nonchalantly says. Oh he was done for. “You sure have changed.”
He was far too gone to even call whatever he just did some sick joke and make up with you. To him, you looked so cute being all angry at him, it made him a little excited. He wondered how long he could keep this up. Though, he was fighting the urge to just grab you and kiss you right there. But you had a boyfriend, he couldn’t do that.
You angrily stomp towards him, cornering him against the wall. Harshly jabbing his chest with your finger, you looked up at him, a smug smile plastered onto his face. You wanted to punch his pretty face in.
“You are so fucking annoying, what do you treat every girl you see this way? Dick too small to get any action, you have to take it out on women?” you spit out at him, venom lacing your voice. One thing you were not going to let men get away with was the way they spoke about women. The sweet Heeseung you once knew, instantly exploding into little pieces in your mind.
He chuckles. “I’ll have you know, I have a huge dick and probably get more action than you– Ms. Hello Kitty panties,” he smirks at you as you gasped. “You fucking creep!” a loud sound erupted into the room.
You had just smacked him in the face. Heeseung knew he had that coming. You couldn’t believe this was your Heeseung. Someone definitely replaced the Heeseung you knew with a terrible good for nothing clone.
But why were you still so attracted to him?
Heeseung rubs the side of his face that was inflicted. “Can’t handle the truth can you, can’t believe your little boyfriend lets you out looking like that,” he said, rolling his eyes at you. Puzzled, you furrowed your brows together trying to figure out what he meant. Boy… friend? Then it hits you.
Sunoo. You couldn’t believe what you just heard. Heeseung thinks Sunoo is your boyfriend. Forgetting all that just occurred, you pull back and let out the loudest laugh in his face, clutching your stomach. You couldn’t believe he thought Sunoo was your boyfriend. “You really are so stupid,” you said, wiping a tear away.
Heeseung’s face heats up a bit as he pouts, what could’ve possibly been so funny. “Yeah, my “boyfriend” let’s me out like this, because he’s not actually my boyfriend,” you said with finger quotes on the word boyfriend. Why was he so worked up over Sunoo anyways?
“Then who is he to you, he’s in all of your pictures,” he crosses his arms at you. You raise an eyebrow, confused as to why he was pressing. “Um, that’s my best friend, he lives in your old house…,” you trailed, feeling a bit awkward bringing up the fact that his old place of residence was now occupied by some boy he knows nothing about.
Heeseung’s eye twitches just a bit, a weird feeling bubbles within him. So you did replace him and better yet, replace him with another boy that lives in his old home. He felt as if you just kicked him in the face.
“Was I nothing to you? What are you gonna marry him now? I look better anyways,” he disgustingly lets out at you. Was he jealous? You laughed, shaking your head in disbelief.
“You were the one that ghosted me, let’s not forget that now,” you said back sternly. The way his eyes darkened at you, made your knees a bit weak. He strides towards you, causing you to walk backwards, the back of your legs hitting your bed as you stumble on, Heeseung towering over you.
Voice dropping as he looked down at you on your bed, he spoke up. “It’s not like it mattered anyways, seems like you were out here dressed like a whore, leading every boy on.” Your eyes meet his, he leans down, you can feel his breath on your face.
“Bet you wanted me to look at you anyways, I bet you like the attention,” he whispers in your ear. Tingles run through your entire body. Without thought, you squeezed your thighs together to feel a little friction. You were getting turned on. He lingers just a little as he reaches his hand up to hold your chin, making sure you looked him in the eyes. Your breathing increases as you start to realize how close he was to you. This had to be a dream. He inches his face closer to yours, the scent of your strawberry like perfume fills his nose. You have always smelt sweet. It was intoxicating to him. You close your eyes, hoping this wasn’t real. He looks down at your lips before taking a slight breath in.
His lips landed onto yours. Your eyes widened, not believing this was happening. You quickly close them again, giving into the kiss. He smirks against your lips, deepening the kiss, his hand still holding your face up. He pulls away, pushing you down. You scoot up a bit, as he climbs onto your bed, now hovering over you.
You felt so small under him. Your eyes fluttered as he stared down at you. A wave of embarrassment wash over you as you bring your arm up to cover your face. He pulls your arm away, eyes hungry for you. He leans back down, pulling you into another heated kiss as he puts his knee in between your legs, opening them slightly. The friction catching you off guard, you let out a small moan. His dick twitches, you start to grind a little on his leg. He moves his hand down to caress your side, bringing it up to give your boob a squeeze over your shirt.
You gasped, taken by surprise. He takes the chance to stick his tongue into your mouth, your panties growing wetter by the minute. Mission “forget about Heeseung” was no longer there. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in. Everything felt so hot and fuzzy, you had long forgotten the things he had said earlier. Heeseung pulls away, moving his mouth to your neck, leaving a trail of kisses. You squirm under him, trying your hardest to keep quiet. He chuckles.
“We just met again after so long, and you’re really letting me do this to you right now while our parents are downstairs?” he spoke against you, he trails his hand down and in between your legs. “You aren’t really helping your case of being a little slut now– are you?”
Your face turns red, unable to speak. He was right, you guys had barely said anything to each other and here you are letting him touch you after all the nasty things he said earlier. It was Lee Heeseung after all. The one and only boy who managed to make you feel every and all emotions in this world. Your body easily gave in as if this was what it's been waiting for.
His fingers stroke the outside of your panties, you were already soaked. He rubs his finger up and down your panties, feeling the dampness as he reaches his other hand up to your corset top, conveniently having a zipper on the front, he unzips your top, your boobs spilling out. “No bra? You really are just a slut.”
At this point, he was painfully hard. He gropes one of your breasts as he leans down, taking the other into your mouth. He sucks on your nipple as he rubs circles on your clit, still clothed by your panties. You reach your hand over your mouth, covering it as your moans gradually get louder. The room felt hot and heavy, you couldn’t help yourself as you moaned his name, pleasure overfilled your body.
“H-Heeseung… Hee… please…,” you softly cried out. He moans into your breast, pushing your panty to the side, he feels your wetness in its entirety. His fingers slide up and down your slit as he takes his mouth off of your nipple, eyes on you.
Fuck, you looked too hot. He couldn’t believe he was doing these things to you right now. He pulls you into another sloppy kiss. He inserts his finger into your hole, a moan erupting out of you as he starts to thrust his hand. You were so wet and he needed to take you right now. The thought of you both potentially getting caught as your parents were just downstairs, turned him on even more. He pulls away, taking your fucked out expression in. He adds in another finger.
“Oh my god,” you moaned, blushing as you caught his eye. Lust overtook him as he increased the pace of his hand, pumping his fingers in and out of you as if his life depended on it. He curled his fingers within you, earning a loud squeal from you. He smirks.
“Y/n, you gotta keep your voice down, you don’t want your parents coming up here seeing their sweet little daughter like this, now do you?” he menacingly asked. Your cute little moans were enough to almost make him burst all over you. His pants were getting too tight for his liking. He needed to have you.
You were lost and flustered. His fingers so deep into you, you felt your climax was close. “Faster… please H-Hee…,” you moan, stuttering from the sensation. “S-So c-close, I’m so close.”
With his free hand, he reaches up, grabbing your face. “Look at me while you cum Y/n, I need to see your fucked out face,” his said, his deep voice making you clench around his fingers. Your moans start to increase again, he puts his hand over your mouth, trying to suppress the volume. With one more pump, you cream all over his fingers, screams of his name muffled against his hand as he rides out your high with his fingers. He takes his hand off, allowing you to finally breathe and catch your breath. Eyes hazy as you pant. He pulls his fingers out of you, taking them up to his mouth, sucking on his own fingers and tasting your cum.
“Fuck, you taste so good Y/n,” he said, leaning down kissing you, letting you have a taste of yourself. Pulling back, he leans his forehead on yours, taking in what he just did with you. Silence filled the room, your cheeks heated up as you looked away from him. Your heart wanted to jump out of your chest.
You just let Lee Heeseung finger you.
And you liked it.
Before you both could even muster up words to say, yells of Heeseung’s name were heard from downstairs. He stands up quickly, taking in the way you were on your bed one last time. Man did he love that skirt on you. He adjusts his hoodie, pulling it down more to cover his raging boner. Without a word, he takes his leave, leaving you there on your bed. Tits out, panties filled with your own cum, skirt hiked up, and flustered. You hastily sit up, zipping your top back up. Like the entire day, the feeling of needing to throw up reemerges. You reach your own hand down, feeling the wetness still there. This definitely was not a dream. Heeseung just fingered you.
Lee Heeseung was here and he just fingered you.
You grab your pillow, groaning as you slam your head repeatedly down onto it.
How the hell did you end up here?
Tumblr media
Heeseung’s heart was beating so fast. He ran down your stairs, almost running into his own mother as she was putting her shoes on by the door.
“Woah, slow down son,” she laughs. He mutters a sorry as he turns to bid your parents a goodbye. He makes his way out of your house needing a breath of fresh air, still painfully hard. He picks up his bike from the side of your porch and makes his way off of your driveway and down the road, leaving his parents there puzzled as to why he was in such a hurry. He needed to get home now.
Thankfully, his house wasn’t too far from yours, just being down the street by the basketball court. He threw his bike onto his lawn as he hurriedly tried to fish his house keys out of his pocket. Opening the door, he quickly shuts it behind him as he runs up the stairs and to his room. He locks the door. He needed to let one out while the image of you was fresh in his mind.
Heeseung strips himself of his clothes, leaving him in just his boxers. He jumps into his bed, laying his head onto his pillow, palming himself through his boxers. Before getting started, he hears his parents enter the home. He waits until they make their way into their room, settling in for the night. After a bit of time had passed, he deemed it safe enough to finally start his session. He palms himself once more, squeezing his length through his boxers.
He couldn’t believe you actually let him finger you. He takes the hand he used to finger you with, bringing his fingers up to his nose, taking a whiff of what was there of your essence. His dick twitched. You smelled delicious. Not being able to take it any longer, he pulls his boxers down, his cock slapping down onto his abdomen, pre cum already leaking from his tip. He spits into his hand, carefully reaching down to his cock, giving it a stroke.
Thoughts of you fill his mind. Images of what just happened flipped through his head like a slideshow. He strokes up and down, remembering the way your tits looked amazing. Your moans replay over and over again. He gives his tip a squeeze and continues on stroking his cock to you. His eyes remain closed as he tries his hardest to keep you there. He strokes hard and fast as he can almost still hear you moaning his name over and over again.
He groans, wishing you were here to help him out. He thinks about how warm and wet your mouth would feel around him. He wishes so badly he got to feel your pussy around his cock, squeezing him the way you suffocated his fingers within you.
“Fuck… Y/n,” he moans to himself, speed increasing. That damn skirt of yours. Next time he knew he had to have you bent over the nearest surface, pumping his cock deep into your pussy. If there was even a next time.
You were driving him insane. His orgasm getting closer and closer, he gives a few more pumps, ropes of his own cum spilling all over his chest as he lets out curses of your name. He laid there, panting and trying to catch his breath.
This summer was going to be the death of him.

The next day rolls around a little too fast for your liking. The events of last night, replaying in your head over and over again. You wanted to go to the nearest bridge and jump off.
The boy you have been crying over for years was just here… in your house… and he fingered you.
Your anxiety has been eating away at you since the moment you woke up. Your friends were on their way to your house, any minute now. Thankfully, Sunoo slept over his grandparents and agreed to go pick up the two girls before making his way here.
After Heeseung had left last night, you immediately looked for your phone, opening up your messages to tell them what just happened. Thinking about it makes you want to run away forever.
Y/n sent a message to group “fuck heeseung!”
Y/n: guys … something just happened…
Karina: what’s up babe?
Sunoo: u good?
Ningning: ???
Y/n: uhhhhhhhh……
Sunoo: bitch if u dont just spit it out! 😒
Y/n: heeseung just fingered me in my room
Sunoo: WTF
Karina: WTF
Ningning: WTF
Ningning: this bitch done took the gc name srsly my gawdddd 😭
Having sent that text, you immediately threw your phone, ignoring the spam texts and calls your friends were sending your way. You could not handle your emotions as you went to get ready to sleep only to wake up to threats from your friends telling you they’re breaking into your house tomorrow and making you spill the tea. You lay there on your bed, covering your face with your hands. One of these days you were really going to throw up all over the place.
Your thoughts were soon broken as you heard loud knocks coming from downstairs. You hear muffles of your friends greeting your mother as she opens the door for her and then asking where you were. You wish you could just cast a spell like Alex Russo and disappear yourself out of here. Rushed footsteps head their way to you and your door was thrown open. You uncover your face and quickly sit up, patting your lap as your friends stare back at you, their arms crossed.
“Heyyyyyyy…,” you said, awkwardly trying to lighten the mood, tucking your hair behind your ears, giving them a toothy exaggerated smile. This is the part where you wish you could spontaneously combust. Karina closes your door as Sunoo walks to sit on the bed with you and Ningning occupies the beanbag on your floor. Karina sits on the ground next to her. All eyes on you.
“So… how are you guys,” you sheepishly said, rubbing the back of your neck. They all roll their eyes simultaneously growing impatient.
“How are we? Bitch how are you?!” Karina shouts at you. You pick up the Hello Kitty squish next to you, slamming your face into it and groaning. “If you don’t hurry and get to the detai–,” you cut her off.
“I will! Okay! So like you see…,” they inch closer towards you, not wanting to miss a single detail as mission “forget about Heeseung” was now compromised. You sighed, taking in a deep breath. It was now or never.
“Okay so you see what had happened was… Heeseung’sfamilyhadmovedbacktotheneighborhoodandtheycameoverand–,” you were interrupted. “Oh my god Y/n slow the hell down, you know I can’t think!” Ningning exclaims, annoyed at your tactics.
“Okay.. okay… so… Heeseung’s family had moved back to the neighborhood–,”
“So they were the “special guest” your mom had told you about?” Sunoo interjected. You nod. “Okay, carry on.”
“Right so, since his family had moved back… that means he’s back… and–,”
“Now how did this get to him fingering you?” Karina speaks up.
“I’m getting there woman! Okay so–,”
“Damn Sunoo you missed out on seeing this motherfucker,” Ningning interrupts once more. “Right? Like I was just thinki–,” Now you were the one to cut Sunoo off. “Are ya’ll going to let me finish my story or what?” you annoyedly sighed. The two mumble small “sorry’s” as they allow you to continue.
“Alright so, my parents invited them to stay for dinner, Heeseung wasn’t there yet and turns out he was the guy me and Noo saw riding his bike down our road,” you start off, palms getting sweaty. “THAT WAS HIM?” Sunoo shouts back at you, hand covering his mouth. “He was so cute.”
“Anyways,” you continued. “He shows up, kinda an asshole now, he practically ignored me all dinner until my parents forced me to bring him to my room and then things got a little… you know… heated… and he uhh… you know, did what he did to me,” you shyly finished as all the blood within you started to rush to the apples of your cheeks. You looked down onto your lap. “He was really mean… but he was so hot… I’m not sure what happened but he went from calling me a slut, to getting weird over thinking Noo was my boyfriend, me yelling at him, and then BAM! His fingers made their way in me I guess…,” you finished off. You look up, catching your friends' confused stares. Sunoo bursts into a fit of laughter.
“He thought I was your boyfriend? Y/n he was so jealous, like seriously, he finger fucked you because he was jealous you were around another boy!” Sunoo says through his laughter. You smack him with your squish, throwing punches at him after. “Well yeah and you’re sitting right where it happened,” you yelled at him. He gagged, disgusted he pushed you off of him and took a seat on the floor next to the two girls. He shook his whole body, cringing.
“Wait a minute, he called you a slut? Like in a “you’re so hot you belong to me” type of way or “you’re a slut and you need to stop looking like how you look” way?” Karina asks, genuinely concerned over the fact that this dude potentially hurt your feelings. You scratch your head.
“Um… the second one…,” you trailed. Karina gets a bit heated. Her feelings towards this dude grow sour as the seconds pass. She hated him already. She lets out a heavy sigh. “You can’t be serious and you let him touch you after all of this?” She says with a disgusted tone paired with an equally expressive disgusted face. “When I get my hands on this guy, I’m gon–,” you cut her off.
“Rina, seriously it’s okay… everything just happened so fast, I’m not really sure how to feel but I also didn’t hate it,” you painfully admitted. The shame inside of you spilling out of your pores as you try to figure out a way to justify what you did. There was no justification. This was all way too complicated.
“Y/n… this is the guy you have liked forever… and he ghosted you… if it were me, i would’ve been beating the shit out of him and not letting him put some fingers up my cooch,” Ningning spoke up, shrugging her shoulders.
“Well I did slap him across his face,” you nonchalantly throw out. “You did what?” Sunoo said, raising an eyebrow genuinely interested. You roll your eyes at him.
“So… did you even get his number to like… you know talk about all of… this,” Karina asked. She just wanted the best for you but you just alway seem to dig yourself into the biggest holes known to man. You let out a chuckle.
“About that… no…,” you muttered out. Karina picks up the nearest plush she saw that was on your floor and throws it at your head. “You are so stupid sometimes, you know that right Y/n?” she tiredly said. If she gets the chance to ever see Heeseung, she made a mental note to have a long talk with him. He could not get away with these shenanigans, she did not care how much he meant to you.
“Oh yeah… and he’s going to be attending Decelis–,” this time it was Ningning throwing a plush at you, interrupting your nonsense. “It just keeps getting better and better!” Sunoo sarcastically lets out.
Sighing you felt exhausted, mentally and physically. This whole situation makes you want to pull your hair out of your head. But before forgetting, the thought of the barbeque comes to your mind. “Also, his family is hosting a BBQ this weekend, they said I could invite you guys– but only if you were interested!” you hurriedly finished the last part, worried they were going to throw anything else at you. Ningning and Sunoo shoot up from their seats.
“Def def def going! If he’s as cute as y’all make him to be, he’s bound to have even cuter friends to invite,” Ningning giggles, fantasizing about the potential boys Heeseung could be inviting. “Maybe they’re gonna be going to DU too~,” the bubbly girl sings. You all roll your eyes at her. She has always been a hopeless romantic.
“I’m just nosy and I’d love to see how this all plays out,” Sunoo lets out, Ningning agreeing with him also. You all turned to Karina, she seemed indifferent.
“So Rina bear… do you want to come too? I’m making my tiramisu for the occasion~,” her face lights up, you can see the twinkle in her eyes. “Okay, but… I can’t promise i”ll behave,” she said, crossing her arms, sticking her tongue out at you. You jump up with joy, jumping onto them and onto the floor, pulling them all into a tight group hug.
“I love you guys so much, now let’s go get ice cream or something, I'm craving something sweet!” You excitedly exclaim. Sunoo snickers. “Yeah Heeseung already gave you something sweet last nigh–OW!” you smack the back of his head before he could even finish his sentence. With that, you all get up, making your way outside and to Sunoo’s car.
“Alright, where are we heading?” Sunoo asks you guys. Ningning speaks up from the backseat. “Ooh, to that taiyaki ice cream place, you know, the one past the basketball court down there!” Everyone agrees as Sunoo pulls out of his driveway.
Unbeknownst to all of you, Heeseung has been at the basketball court since the morning, playing some rounds with his friends. As Sunoo drives down the road, he suddenly lets out a gasp, slowing his car down.
“OH EM GEE… Y/n is that Heeseung?” He asked, pointing his finger towards the basketball court. “Oh em gee, WHERE?” Ningning yells, rolling her window down, Sunoo does the same.
There Heeseung was, in a simple baggy white tee and gray sweatpants. “Wow Y/n… he’s so hot,” Ningning gasps. “And so are his friends! If those are the ones going to the BBQ, I call dibs on the blond one, he looks like a puppy,” she finishes.
“Fuck are they looking at us?” Karina asked, her eyes bulging out of her face. Your face heats up, there Heeseung was, stopped in his tracks, eyebrow cocked as he makes eye contact with you through Sunoo’s car. You wanted to jump out of the car and run away. All of his friends were staring back, looking to see what had caught their friend’s eye.
Of course they were, Sunoo and Ningning were not helping the situation. Who wouldn’t notice a bright red car, slowly driving down a quiet street as some weirdos stare at them from inside. To your surprise, Ningning catches the attention of the blond one, giggling as she winked, blowing him a kiss, he winks back at her. Karina pulls her back from the window, smacking her upside her head as she rolls the window back up.
Sunken down onto your seat, the embarrassment was eating away at you as you oh so desperately wanted to throw up all over the interior of Sunoo’s car. You groan, covering your face, your friends really had to make things even weirder for you. Sunoo steps on the gas as he tries to get you guys out of this awkward situation ASAP. He couldn’t help but laugh at the way you looked in the passenger seat next to him. You ignore him, pulling your phone out to scroll through whatever social media app your finger clicked first. An instagram notification catches your eye.
“heesoswag1015” wants to send you a message!
You click on the notification, leading you to your requests box. Your heart is still racing, you click the accept button. The color drains from your face.

💝 favorite canon scene:
these panels in the 57th scouting expedition right here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the anime the only internal monologue we get is from jearmin, which is a big rewatch tell of oh shit! why are reiner's thoughts private (armored hehe). but the ONE time, ONE time we get reiner's thoughts in this arc in the manga... it's about jean. and it's not like he takes over narration like armin did when he encounters annie alone, or like jean does once these three meet up. it's just one stray 💭 of "jean really... is different."
sure, other characters note jean's maturity since joining the corps, but recognition from reiner stands out here as a vote of confidence from marcel!reiner, AND four years later: when he still describes jean as "an irresponsible jerk who only ever thought of himself," even though reiner knows first hand that jean grew so, so much after trost. and it's his fault.
💝 a song that reminds you of them:
i previously posted SASAMI's I Was a Window, but another one that screams reijean to me is Till Death by Japanese Breakfast. briefly, it's about marriage, but she wrote a whole book about the context that this song and her relationship come from, which i highly recommend.
so many images in it are so post-rumbling to me: "get these days to go by like the swaying of a ship," (the studio recording starts with ocean sounds); "sing me to sleep, soothe this insomnia"; "your embrace healing my wounds / teach me to breathe, teach me to move." the beginning of verse 2, "steering on hostile waves of panic, like fighting a wheel that pulls to the right" makes me think of a later jbrekkie song, Slide Tackle, which IS reiner.

💝 favorite fanfic:
i have to say two:
vermin by @oxygenbefore1775: delicious cadet days, delicious fucked up time in reiner POV, delicious, smart tangling with the technological/material/cultural gaps between the walls and the rest of the world. how much of RBA's deep cover is culture shock? the total lack of guile jean has while running roughshod over the land mines in reiner's head with just "bunny." god.
from shiganshina with love by @fromriches-tosin: this is really the one that lured me in. it feels like a locked room, three-hander play, when even being in the wide open air (well, not reiner) is claustrophobic because two characters are intertwined and dug into one another. and as someone who has inhaled shelves' worth of eruri fic and doujinshi, vee's levi is one of my favorites.
💝 favorite fanart:
oh, this and everything by @mikibagels. one thing about reijean that goes so hard is jean's growth spurt, cadet and post-rumbling reijean both have height difference. similar vein, @valmendy illustrating reiner's flirting from never let me go: "i feel like i missed out on my little brother growing up." hello???
💝 why i ship:
i binged the anime so late, just in time for season 4, and when the finale came out i could hardly think of anything other than "we're scouts, we don't know when to quit."
back in my day (i'm turning 27 this month), one dude beating up another in shounen launched a ship, a fleet of ships, and kept it afloat for years, but yams gave us their more obvious, huge interactions in the last... fifteen chapters. but there's so much history between them that screams to be noticed on initial reread and rewatch: the reijearmin (horrendous throuple name) date that was the female titan arc, that jean keeps his cool when the 104th hop on the armored as reibert and ymir try to flee, the whole return to shiganshina, the echo i come back to of "the jean kirchstein i know only thinks of himself."
with jean's OVA, they're the characters whose moms we see the most of besides carla jaeger??? the difference between karina and jean's mother is vast, yet their sons turned out so similar, despite it all. so caring, so haunted by that care. jean takes his leadership in the post-time skip survey corps so seriously, he agonizes over his field leadership in trost, while reiner feels like he killed marcel and bertolt and doomed annie, and in his lowest, lowest moments still manages to protect and worry for falco and gabi.
also, another big why: you people. this is such a cozy pontoon. 😘 happy valentine's day!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
you’ve been going to cousins beach ever since you were a baby. it’s tradition that you, your mom, and your brother sunghoon leave everything behind and spend your summer time there. it will never be complete without your mom’s best friend, se ah and her two sons: heeseung and jake.
heeseung and jake are half-siblings. heeseung’s father left them ages ago. se ah met jake’s dad and the two got married and had jake. sadly, he died when you were eight. but the two of them never treated each other less than brothers. they were the best siblings you’ve ever met. no offense to sunghoon.
se ah’s summer house is made up of lots of things. the beach, the swimming pool late at night, movie nights with the moms.
but the boys…
the boys most of all.
it’s the same every summer. you’ve always loved that about it.
everything good, everything magical happens between the months of june and august.
***
you’ve been on the road for three hours now. today was sunghoon’s first time driving going to cousins. he took driving lessons while the both of you were still at school. your brother was proud that he finally has a license while you still have to ask for your mom to drive you to places. he has been teasing you how you get to sit on the shotgun while he drives you and your mom. he’s finally an adult, is what your brother thinks. but you think otherwise when sunghoon is driving so slow. heck, he drives slower than your grandmother.
“i bet that kid on the bike will reach us to cousins before we do.” you point at the kid biking with a helmet and backpack.
“shut up, y/n. let the driver do his job.”
you roll your eyes. sunghoon always had the final say since he was older than you. only for a year though. but he always treats you like you were a baby.
“god, sunghoon with this driving of yours it’ll take us forever to get to cousins!” you start whining again. sunghoon scoffs.
“oh please. you’re just dying to see heeseung after not seeing him for months.”
your eyes grew wide and you immediately slapped sunghoon’s shoulder and he tries to block you. both of you end up screaming and bantering at each other then your mom stops you from the backseat.
“hey, hey, hey! y/n, let your brother drive or else we’ll all crash.”
as usual, sunghoon wins. you lean back on your chair with your arms crossed as you huff.
“i want you to be better about helping out this summer.” your mom starts.
“like, don’t just leave your dishes in the sink. load them into the dishwasher. and not just your own dish either, sunghoon.”
“what? but i—”
“i want you to be good houseguests.”
“mom, aunt se ah has people who clean, doesn’t she?”
your mom slaps sunghoon’s head, “sunghoon!”
“ow, mom. alright, alright. i’ll help.”
you laugh. you guessed sunghoon didn’t have the final laugh after all.
your family never had people who clean. it was always you or your mom who did the dishes and other cleaning at home. your family didn’t have much money. aunt se ah on the other hand was rich.
“be considerate and act like i raised you right. okay? sunghoon, that means don’t stay out too late.”
“mom, i'm too old for a curfew!”
“wait, what about me? i don’t have a curfew either, right?”
you’re turning 16 this summer. you could at least feel that this is the time for you to be acting like an adult and people around you treat like you are one.
“what?” sunghoon starts to laugh then he turns to a right. “what do you need a curfew for? you don’t even go anywhere.”
“sunghoon don’t be so mean to your sister.”
“what it’s true!”
“y/n, we’ll talk about that some other time alright?”
you shake your head. maybe that wasn’t the right timing for you to bring it up.
“oh, and don’t forget you promised you’d take me driving.” you tell sunghoon.
“i told you i’d take you.” your mom says.
“yeah but…you’re too judgy.”
sunghoon laughs while you rest your chin on your palm as you looked out your window.
“excuse me?”
sunghoon’s laughs becomes louder and you follow, “yeah, i’m sorry but…”
“okay. first of all, i’m just being protective. what happens if you crash on someone’s front porch?”
the three of you laughed until you reached at a gasoline station with a convenience store. sunghoon fills the car with gas while you and your mom go inside to buy some food for the house. you on the other hand looked for new bathing suits. your best friend, somi advised you to not bring your speedo since you aren’t going to a swimming competition. but you brought it with you just in case. she said that it won’t show your boobs so much which made you fluster.
“you need to show your fit!” was what somi said. she also mentioned that you looked different this summer. aside from you taking out your braces and glasses. also, your new neck-length hair.
“y/n, don’t make a mess.” your mom says when you dropped some of the cheetos from the bag while gorging it. you continue eating it either way.
when you looked at the cashier, he was looking at you, “hey.”
boys at school never looked at you. somi is the one they look at. you were just the main character’s best friend. like you were just kind of there.
you take the bag of cheetos and got bottle of sprite from the freezer before taking it to the cashier. the cashier had a piercing to his eyebrow. He had tattoos on his arms and was wearing a gray shirt. he looked older than you like he was a college student. you read his name tag. jungkook.
“are you new this summer?” the cashier asks you.
“oh. no, i've been coming to cousins since i was a baby,” you say.
“that’s weird. i know every pretty girl in cousins.”
you have never been called pretty by anyone before. maybe your mom did. mut a boy? not one boy told you that you looked pretty. not sunghoon because that’s weird. not jake, not heeseung, and not your dad.
“you coming to the bonfire tonight? first of the season.”
“oh. maybe.”
“come. i’ll introduce you to some of my friends.”
the thought that a boy asked you to come to a party fluttered your heart. you didn’t know if he was asking you to be his plus one. but he did call you pretty, invited you to a party, and will introduce you to some of his friends.
“maybe i will then.”
you hand your cash to jungkook and he takes it. your mom stands beside you and places the cardboard box of goods on the counter.
“okay so later I have to go to whale of a tale so I can pre-sign some books for the book signing tomorrow. want to come?”
“uh…”
“remember,” your mom starts playing with your hair, “you used to sit on my lap when i sign books?”
you wanted to run. a boy finally noticed you and called you pretty. yet, your mom is baby-ing you in front of him as he scans your items.
“you even wanted to draw whales every time i sign a page.”
“no, i don’t remember that at all.” you gave out an awkward laugh.
jungkook hands you the change but your mom beats you to it, “i’ll take that. thank you.”
you carry the box of groceries and jungkook helps you. he gives you a flirtatious smile and you can feel your cheeks warm up.
“how about during our movie night, you pick out the movie then you can keep me company?” your mom opens the door for you.
“will i see you later?” jungkook asks as you stop walking.
“what’s later?” your mom asks.
“nothing.” you walk out of the convenience, remembering you forgot to pick out a new swimsuit. you'll have to settle for your speedo.
as soon as you and your mom went to the trunk of the car, sunghoon opens it for you.
“was that guy talking to you just now? gross.”
“shut up, sunghoon.”
you place the groceries inside the trunk then sunghoon closes the hood. you went back inside the car and closed the door. you put down the the mirror, fluffed your hair then took out your tinted lip balm, and puckered your lips.
sunghoon goes back to the driver’s seat. your mom gets inside then sunghoon starts the car.
cousins beach is the best place in the world. every time you see the sign, “entering cousins beach,” you feel like you’ve dived into the salt water in the beach as you take in the sunshine, the smell of the salt, and the coarse sand feels comforting to you.
it smells exactly the same. taste the same. like it’s been waiting for you to get here.
you watch as the view changes to a beach on the other side of the road. the rocks were blocking the view a little but you could hear seagulls and hear the waves crashing on the shore. you stuck your head out, feeling the air and the atmosphere of cousins greeting you, welcoming you to this magical place.
there it was. aunt se ah’s summer house. it still looks the same. it’s still blue and had plants growing in the pots at the front porch. the flowers and the grass didn’t even wilt. it looked like years didn’t pass by. like nothing changed.
“here we are!”
it may seem that you are the most excited one to be back at cousins. but really, it’s your mom. her one and only best friend is at the other side of the country and the only place where she’ll be seeing her is here at cousins. you think that one day, you and somi might end up just like that.
sunghoon honks the horn then he and your mom get off the car. the door opened and you see jake running with his signature golden retriever smile. you noticed that jake colored his hair blonde.
“hi!” jake runs to your mom and gives her a warm hug.
you see aunt se ha greeting your mom. both of them giggling as they hugged each other. your aunt se ha has got to be one of the nicest, kindest, purest person you have ever met. never once she raised her voice at you even when you accidentally spilled hot chocolate at her once.
“dude!” sunghoon pulls jake in a hug before they do a fist bump.
when you were done looking at everyone greet each other, it was your turn to get out of the car.
“have you been going to the gym?” sunghoon slaps jake’s stomach before your mom calls him to greet aunt se ha.
jake heard your car door open. when he saw you, his eyes grew big. you gave him a smile. you giggle, “hi.”
“woah.” jake was looking at you with glint in his eyes. “look who came back all grown up!” he runs to you and you do the same and screamed when he carried you around while hugging you.
“jake, put me down!”
jake spins you one more time before putting you down. he tickles your sides while telling you how different you looked without your braces and short hair.
“where did our little y/n go, huh?” jake tickles you again and you try to avoid him. in the background, you can hear your aunt se ha commenting how sunghoon got taller and more handsome. you can agree to the tall part but not the latter.
“jake!” sunghoon calls Jake. you stand looking at the four of them. when you turn your head to see who came out the front door…
you felt your heart stopped. your mother’s voice and aunt se ha’s voice suddenly faded. all you could see was him.
heeseung.
he was wearing a gray hoodie, khaki brown shorts. it was nothing fashionable, but he looked amazing. it was like a scene from a romance movie. it was like "lover" was playing in the background as he walks going to you, the sun shining behind him, him fixing his hair, then when he looks up at you, he gives you this smile. a smile only for you.
heeseung walks towards you. you’ve been friends since you were kids. but somehow, being close to him just makes it difficult for you to breathe and think. then again, this is heeseung. the boy you’ve been in love since you were twelve.
“i liked you better with glasses.”
that stung. months of not seeing each other, you’d expect him to say “you’re different but you look good.” you guessed heeseung liked seeing you as the little kid.
you retort, “too bad. i like me better without them.”
heeseung smiles at you again. you do the same. until he rubs your hair and you try to avoid him but he rubs it some more.
“stop!” you try to shove his hand away but heeseung continues to rub your hair, “and you got a haircut.”
“wait a minute.” sunghoon interrupts your conversation. he and jake walk towards you.
“i don’t know about you but…” sunghoon looks at his wrist, pretending he has a watch. i tthink it’s time…”
jake and sunghoon look at each other “for a belly flop!”
your eyes grew wide, “no. no!”
the boys all became excited while you tried to run away but sunghoon blocked you but you managed to escape. you thought you were free until you felt heeseung holding you under your underarms. jake and sunghoon carrying each one of your legs.
you yelled for them to let you down but they were too strong for you to escape from. the three of them passed by the other side of the house to enter the pool area.
the belly flop is a thing the four of you do every summer. it’s basically the boys who do it. they carry you like a sack of flour, swing you as they count to three before throwing you to the pool. it’s tradition to welcome the summer, sunghoon says. you’ve been doing it since you were kids and the boys never miss a chance to do it.
“belly flop!”
“belly flop! belly flop!”
“hey! hey! hey! hey put me down!”
you continue to cry out for help. the boys however were having fun seeing you suffer. once you reached the pool, they start to count.
“one..”
“two..”
“three..”
splash!
just like that, you felt like you were a kid again. you can hear their muffled laughs as you swim yourself up from the pool. when your head was out, sunghoon’s laugh became louder. jake’s laugh though, it was still as cute as before. heeseung was also laughing but not as loud as the other two.
jake asks, “hey, y/n, how’s the water?” the three of them continue laughing.
“guys! i hurt my ankle, ow!”
their laughs died down. jake looked worried and was about to help you when heeseung kneeled in front of the pool and laid out his hand. sunghoon on the other hand, knew what you were up to.
when you got hold of heeseung’s hand, he gripped your hand tight and was about to hold his ground when you suddenly pulled him in with you.
heeseung fell and you laughed at how he really fell for your acting. you swim away from him but heeseung swims out from the pool and tries to chase you.
“y/n!”
you laugh and continue to swim away but heeseung immediately got hold of you.
heeseung pulled both of you down to the pool. he was holding your arms until you went deeper. your hands were now holding his arms. you were holding your breath. not from you being in the water. well, that too. and because you were holding heeseung’s arms. you are here. with him. both of you looking at each other as the bubbles were surround you and the color of blue wrapping both you in this summer heat.
this moment to you…it was magical.
he was looking at you as you were trying to swim out of the pool, still holding your arms. both of you inhaled as you felt air. heeseung was still holding your arm.
“let go.” you say as you inhale more air. heeseung sees you open your motuh and takes this opportunity to splash you water.
you yelp and gave him a death glare to which he only smiled. sunghoon and jake were laughing until they jumped into the pool with you. they splashed you water and you do the same, trying to swim away from them. everyone from cousins could hear your laughs and screams but you didn’t care. cousins was your place. you belonged here and you’re at home. at the beach, at the summer house with these boys. this was your safe haven.
***
your mom and aunt se ha were doing some catching up. your aunt se ha was cutting up some strawberries. you heard your mom saying maybe it was time for aunt se ha to meet someone else. aunt se ha says that she won’t be looking for anyone else since there was no time left.
when they heard you walking to the kitchen, they stopped talking.
“y/n, you’re dripping water all over the place.” your mom scolds you as she starts unpacking the groceries and placing them in the cupboards.
“y/n!” aunt se ha immediately puts down the knife and runs to hug you.
“oh my god!” she lets go and looks at you.
“you are gorgeous!”
your aunt se ha has always had a way with words. she always says things that make you believe her sometimes.
“i think i look the same.” you gesture your hair, “except for the hair.”
“oh, honey.” aunt se ha cups your face, “you’re in bloom.”
you gave her a smile. aunt se ha returns to cutting the strawberries. your mom comes from behind and wraps you in a towel.
“so, y/n,” aunt se ha gives you that naughty smile, “have boys been lining up in your front door?”
“oh, please. y/n has been too focused on her swimming lessons.” your mom continue
“it’s summer. might take this opportunity to,” aunt se ha wiggles her eyebrows up and down, “explore.”
“don’t give her that idea!”
“it’s not that!”
“you’re teaching my daughter nasty stuff.”
“oh, please it’s not what you think.”
you’ve always watch your mom and aunt se ha. they were literally the best duo for “sisters from another mother.” they had different personalities. your mom had a strong one like she can just shut you down with one word. while aunt se ha was very gentle and never gets herself into a fight. except once when they were college because a guy was trying to flirt with your mom even when she said no. the two of them were inseparable. like you and somi. like you and jake.
“i’m going to dry myself off.” you excuse yourself as you went upstairs to your room.
your room was white but had prints of flowers. there was a bed beside the doorway, a small couch at the end of the room, and a drawer by the left near the window. you spot your stuffed deer, bambi. heeseung got him for you when you were twelve at a summer fair here at cousins. it was the day you realized you were in love with him.
you put your bag down at your bed and went to bambi. “hey, bambi.” you said while holding him. you hear someone sit on your bed and you turn to see jake.
“can’t believe you still keep him.”
“i'd never throw bambi away.” you sit down beside jake. jake had an unreadable face. but he was fast to change his expression.
“come on. let’s go swim at the beach.”
you click your tongue, “i can’t. i have to go with my mom to whale of a tale for the book signing tomorrow.”
jake pouts, “but i’ve been waiting for you to get here. come on.”
jake gives you his puppy eyes. “please.” he gets bambi and clasps his feet together, “pretty pleaseeee.”
you laugh, “screw it. let’s go swimming.”
jake raises his fist in the air. “i’ll meet you at the living room.”
you nod your head and jake heads out the door. before he does, he takes one look at you before closing the door.
***
after you finish changing to your bathing suit, you grabbed your towel and headed to the living room where jake was waiting for you. he was wearing his swimming trunks and he had his towel on his shoulder. you noticed he had muscles and...and abs.
“hey.” jake stands up from the couch.
“hey.”
“y/n! you ready to go?” your mom walks going to the living room with her car keys.
“why are you wearing a bathing suit?”
“oh about that, jake and i are going swimming.”
“y/n we were supposed to go to whale of a tale.”
“please, mom. pleaseee.” you mimick jake’s way of pleading.
“auntie, i promise y/n and i will just go swimming in the beach.” both you and jake plea to your mom.
“alright. just be back before dinner.”
you and jake high-fived. “thanks, mom.” you kiss your mom on the cheek, “see you later!”
you and jake head to the back door of the house. on the way to the ocean, you did some catching up. your parents divorced a year ago, your dad has a girlfriend that he met during her college internship, and your mom filing for the divorce.
“i think if you don’t want to be married, you shouldn’t be married.”
“well, tell that to my grandma. she basically collapsed when my mom told her.”
“well, what about your mom? is she dating anybody?”
“i doubt. she’s too busy raising two kids and writing new stories.”
“well, how’s your dad?”
“he has a beard now.”
jake laughs, “your dad has a beard?”
“uh-huh! he says it makes him look cool.”
“well does it?”
you pause to think for a while. “kinda.”
you and jake laugh. minutes later, both of you reached the ocean. people were lying down at the sand while others were already dipping themselves in the water. the sun was out, it was windy, and the waves were crashing on the shore, like how you imagined it on the way going to cousins.
“i’ve waited all year for this.” you say as you take in the view.
“you wanna race?”
you turn to jake. you shake your head, “no, no, i can’t…”
“oh come on.”
“you’re taller now and i couldn’t catch up—”
you start running and you can hear jake saying that it was foul play. you threw your towel to the sand and continue running. jake threw his towel and continued chasing you as both of you are in the water.
you splashed at jake and he tries to catch you but you run try to run the other way. when he catches you, he says, “gotcha!” and both of you laugh before you fell into the water.
“jake!”
you got up and splashed jake again and pushed him again to the water. all you did was splash, push, and catch each other. it’s what you always do when the both of you go to the beach.
jake grabs you from behind, “finally got you!”
both of you giggled. you stare at each other for a while. you’ve always been close to jake like this. but for some reason, this felt different. you didn’t know if it was because of his wet hair or his tall figure, or because he was just merely jake. the golden boy who everyone loves and adores.
“hey, i’m kinda hungry. should we get some waffles?”
“uh…yeah. sure.”
both of you let go of each other’s grasp. you got out of the water and went back to the towels you threw.
you went to get some waffles at the van by the beach. you always order the strawberry cream while jake gets the one with chocolate ice cream and chocolate chips and nuts.
“it’s been forever since i had these.”
“tell me about it. i can have this anywhere but it won’t compare to the one’s in cousins.” you take another bite of the waffle and you got some cream on your nose.
“y/n. always the messy eater.”
jake gets a napkin and puts it on your nose, sticking it there. you slap jake’s arm and he laughs. you take the napkin from your nose and wiped the cream.
“hey, jake!”
karina yoo. she’s known for eyeing the hot guys during the summer. you guessed jake is going to be her next prey.
“uh…hey, karina.” jake sweeps his hair and leans on the van.
“i heard you’re doing lifeguard duty this summer. sunghoon told us.”
you look at jake. he didn’t tell you he planned on doing lifeguard duty.
“yeah. yeah, i start tomorrow.”
karina smiles and looks at her friends. they were giggling and eyeing each other like their friend won the price.
“that’s great. i guess i’ll see you tomorrow.”
jake nods, “see you there.”
karina giggles before she and her friends leave. you can hear them whispering about how different you looked. you hear winter saying you could never pass karina.
“you didn’t tell me you were going to do lifeguard duty.”
“yeah…forgot to tell you that. sunghoon and i will be at the country club. i’ll be lifeguarding while he’ll be serving snacks.”
you and jake mostly spend time together at cousins. you’d go swimming or build sandcastles at the beach. sometimes, you’d go to see a movie together.
“i guess heeseung will still be around, right?”
jake shakes his head, “nah. he’ll be cleaning boats as a summer job.”
“oh.”
jake can hear the gloominess in your voice. he lightly nudges your shoulder, “hey, you can always drop by the club. i’ll be there the whole time.”
“yeah until you save little kids drowning. heck, I bet you’ll save karina when she’s,” you quote unquote with your hand, “drowning.”
jake laughs. “just tell me you’ll miss me.”
“oh my god, keep dreaming.”
you and jake continued to chat for a while. the sun was beginning to set. the van owner had to tell you he was leaving so both of you headed back home.
***
during your first night at cousins, aunt se ha would prepare a big pot of spicy bouillabaisse. it has lots of shrimp, crab legs, and squid. especially squid since it’s your favorite. aunt se ha always places the pot in the middle of the table along with a few crusty loaves of french bread the bakery nearby.
“can i have some of that?” you ask as you saw your mom and aunt se ha drinking red wine.
“y/n, you know you’re too young to drink.” your mom pours the red wine in her glass.
“yeah, stick to drinking milk.” sunghoon teases at the other side of the table.
“shut up, sunghoon.”
jake “ohs” and he slaps sunghoon’s arm. sunghoon on the other hand says “what?” and they just proceed to laugh it off.
you see heeseung at the end of the table. he was usually quiet. but today, it was different. like something was going on in his mind. when he caught you looking at him, you immediately looked the other way.
“so, heeseung, will you be leaving for training camp this summer?” sunghoon asks. heeseung looks up. jake immediately says, “uh, he quit football.”
you were surprised. you thought heeseung cleaning boats as a job is surprising but now that he quit football, the sport he loved so much and talks about it almost every time, made you and everyone at the table surprised.
“wait, you quit?” sunghoon asks.
“mmhmm.” heeseung plays with his food.
“are you kidding me, i’d kill to play college football.”
“well, he can always change his mind.” aunt se ha says at the other end of the table.
“i’m not going to change my mind. i was just gonna sit on the bench all season anyways.”
“well, if you’re not playing football anymore, what are you going to do all summer?” your mom asks.
“dude, you can work at the club. with me and jake.”
“i'm not going to work there. i’m going to clean boats this summer.”
when you were younger, you always wanted to be part of the group. the boys always play video game in the living room while you stay up in your room, reading some harry potter books or playing with your dolls. when you come down and call them to play with you, sunghoon would always say, “boys only.” even when they were playing football at the garden, they’d always play like you weren’t there. to them you were just a little girl, whining to be seen. as much as you loved cousins, sometimes, there were times you wish you belonged somewhere. and now, with the boys doing summer jobs, you felt like you’ll be spending summer on your own this time for real.
“anyway, as long as you don’t stay up drinking at night.” aunt se ha says.
all night you’ve been talking how the boys will soon be college. you on the other hand were still in junior year of high school. jake wanted to take physics. sunghoon wanted to go to an ivy league college much to your mom’s dismay. heeseung…you didn’t know what he wanted. he was one of the smartest, most mature person you’ve known. he always looked out for you even if he didn’t need to say it. you guessed that’s the reason why you fell in love with him.
“okay, guys. let’s get cleaned up. we’re still going to have our movie night.”
all of you start clearing your dishes away. sunghoon tried to escape but your mom pulls him by the ear and brings him back to the kitchen. all of you did your own chores. heeseung was only washing the dishes but you couldn’t help but smile how cute he looked when doing domestic work.
***
night swimming is your favorite alone time in cousins. swimming at night helps you relax since the only thing you can hear is the water and your own splashes.
when you went out to the pool, you didn’t expect heeseung to be there. he was dipping his feet in the pool and he had a can of beer beside him. and he was smoking.
“i thought you said smoking pot changes the way your brain processes information.”
heeseung puts down his cigarette, “so does your cellphone.” he smokes again. you went to the other side of the pool to put your towel on the chair. you see heeseung eyeing you as you dived in the pool. you swam a little before swimming back up, floating in front of heeseung.
“you said marijuana messes with white matter.”
heeseung lets out a puff of smoke then smirks, “do you even know what white matter is?”
you swam a little further, “you said that our brains are still developing and that—”
“god, do you memorize everything I say?”
you scoff, “get over yourself.”
you submerged yourself again, swam a little before coming back up. you looked at the beach from where you are. it was beautiful. you can smell the cigarette heeseung is smoking. you never would have thought that he’d do that considering heeseung knows how bad it is for a person.
“i mean, you said that smoking is dumb and that real athletes don’t put shit in their bodies.”
heeseung lets out another puff of smoke as he looks at you. to be honest, you feel like melting.
“i said a lot of stuff. and i'm not an athlete anymore so…” heeseung raises his cigarette again and inhales more from it. you float closer going to heeseung, “well, i still think you should quit.”
heeseung looks at you and lets out another puff of smoke. his next question caught you off-guard.
“what would you give me if i do?”
you slowly stopped treading. the water surrounding you was making your sense of touch a little numb but you can feel your heart racing very fast.
“n-nothing. you should quit for yourself.”
you swim again, floating as you are looking at the sky. you knew heeseung was looking at you. but you pretended not to care. but you were trembling. when you were younger, the ones who went swimming with you were jake, junghoon, and aunt se ha but never heeseung. he says he doesn’t like to catch a cold when it’s already cold at night.
“so why’d you quit football?”
you noticed heeseung caught off-guard. during dinner, he didn’t mention why he quit. since it was just the two of you here, maybe heeseung needed someone to talk to.
“i don’t know, it’s just…i don’t love it anymore.”
“i don’t believe you. when we were kids, you used to talk about it all the time.”
“exactly. we were kids. we don’t like the same thing as we get older.”
heeseung goes back to being quiet. you observe him. you knew there was something else. something is bothering him.
“why are you acting so different?”
“i’m not.”
“i know you. if something is going on…just tell me.”
the atmosphere was quiet again. heeseung wanted to smoke some more but his cigarette was almost out. you were treading and you can hear the little splashes hitting the edge of the pool.
“y/n…”
your conversation was interrupted when sunghoon and jake came inside. they were dressed up. sunghoon was wearing a white shirt with a denim jacket on top and pants. jake was wearing a button down with shorts.
“first bonfire of the summer!” sunghoon excitedly shouts.
“okay, i'm driving.” jake throws his keys in the air until sunghoon catches it.
“no, I am. i drove for three hours going here.”
“we are not having this conversation.” jake and sunghoon stand by the pool.
“hey, heeseung, come on. i head yeonjun brough a keg.”
“now, that’s what i’m talking about!”
heeseung puts cigarette on the floor and gets up.
“can i come too?”
“uh…no.” sunghoon says.
“the moms are getting everything set up for your movie night.”
you nod your head. though you wanted to go. heeseung looks at you, “see you later.” before he goes to sunghoon and jake.
sunghoon and jake start walking to the door while heeseung follows.
“have fun with the moms!” sunghoon sing-songs to which you roll your eyes at.
the boys were gone. you were left here at the pool while they’re going to have fun at a bonfire party, drinking some beer. you shake your head, pretending you didn’t care. but you did. because once again, you felt left out.
***
when you were done with your night swim, you saw your mom and aunt se ha preparing the chips on bowls. of course, your mom loved doritos so it was never an option not to eat it. the moms didn’t like eating junk food except for movie nights. they say it reminds them when they were teenagers and summer was the only time they can sometimes act as kids.
“y/n, go put the dvd in.” your mom says as she puts another bag of doritos in a bowl. and yes, aunt se ha never throws away her dvd player and dvds.
“actually, i'm kinda tired from the trip and the swimming. would it be okay if i head to upstairs to bed?”
“everything okay?” aunt se ha asks out of concern. you never missed movie nights deapite how tired you are.
“yeah, i’m just really tired.”
“okay, hon, sure. we can watch another time.” aunt se ha gives you a smile before you head upstairs to your room.
after you closed the door, you took out your clothes. you had one loose gray shirt and a pair of sweatpants. then you picked up your toiletries. you got your shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste. you noticed the perfume somi lent you. then you remember she also gave you a lipstick and blush. you were never a fan of makeup or getting dolled up. but lately, you’ve been seeing how somi dresses up and thought that you wanted to try it.
you got your phone and dialed somi’s number. when she picked up, she was holding her mascara wand and her cheeks had some color.
“why am I hearing from you? you never call me on the first night.” she says then places her phone in front of her. somi continues applying mascara to her lashes as she looks at the mirror.
“where are you going?” you sit down at the floor, leaning your back on your bed.
“chan is dj-ing at his house. everyone will be there.”
“so tonight, heeseung and i were talking by the pool. just the two of us.” the thought made you blush.
“it felt different.”
“good different? see I told you.” somi applies some lipstick.
“well jake and sunghoon came down. heeseung left with them and now they’re in this bonfire party at the beach.”
“why didn’t you go with them?”
“i don’t know. they didn’t invite me anyway.”
“bullshit. they don’t own the beach.”
“well…as if i care about a bonfire party.”
“yeah, right. y/n, no need to deny it. i can see you want to go.” somi was walking with her phone. she walked out of the bathroom and is now in her bedroom.
“well, i did talk to this one guy at the gasoline station. he said he wanted me to come.”
“see! girl, you gotta have fun.”
“yeah but,” you pause for a moment. “i don’t like that guy.”
“well, that’s not the point. heeseung will be there. go to the bonfire, get his attention, let him see you all dressed up looking cute.”
you throw your head back. as much as you wanted to try dressing up, you didn’t want to do it for anyone else and that includes heeseung.
“remember the makeup I gave you?”
“yeah.”
“well, look in your bag again. i gave you my secret weapon.”
you went to your bag and searched for what was inside. somi didn’t tell you what it was so you kept searching until…
“oh my god.”
“not to keep, by the way. just to borrow.”
“somi, nuh-uh. i’m not wearing this.” you hold the pink mini dress like it was slime in your hands.
“come on. nothing is ever going to happen if you’re alone crying in your room, thinking how the boys always exclude you.”
“well…aren’t people going to see my underwear?”
“so where a thong!”
“ew, no. wearing a thong is unhygienic and it’s basically like flossing your butthole.”
somi laughs at your statement. “y/n, thongs are mainstream and can be more helpful than you think.”
“alright. i’ll go.”
“goodluck, girl!”
somi ends your call. you put your phone down at your bed and get the dress. you stand in front of the mirror and place the dress on top of you. you guessed it was fine to go out wearing this. it’s summer and you’re turning 16 anyway.
first, you took a shower. dried your hair with the hairdryer, tied your hair into a half pony. wore the dress, and yes you are wearing a thong underneath. your mom gave it. then you applied the blush on your cheeks. it took you a while to put the right amount of color. at first you put to much, it looked like you were having a sun burn. then you applied some lipstick. next, you put on some necklace and earrings.
you look at yourself at the mirror. you weren’t scruffy y/n. maybe your aunt se ha is right. you look different. but you liked it.
***
you quietly go down the stairs, careful not to let the moms hear you. you started smelling something weird but you brushed it off when you saw what was playing on tv. the princess bride. it’s an 80s film you used to watch with the moms as a kid. you could never forget “my name is iñigo montoya.” the memory made you smile. you enjoyed movie nights. it was the only time you experienced girl’s night. but tonight, you wanted to be somewhere else with people of your age.
you went to the backdoor and quietly shut it, being careful that the click won’t disturb the moms. when you didn’t hear anyone, you immediately ran going to the beach.
***
it was cold. you might have forgotten that you were wearing a spaghetti strap dress that reaches your thighs. you felt the wind kissing every part of your body. you were glad when you reached the bonfire.
as expected, you see teenagers making out, holding red cups as they chat in the beach. cardi b was played in the background. you guessed almost all the kids here were older than you.
“hey, gas station girl!” you turn to see jungkook approaching you with a bottle of beer.
“you came.”
“uh…yeah.”
jungkook hands you the bottle, “here, take my beer.”
you waved your hand, “oh, no thanks. I’m good.”
“so uh…do you have a boyfriend back home?”
jungkook was trying to stand closer to you. you inched away a little. on cue, you see sunghoon with a red cup and he was talking to a girl who was taller than you but looked around your age.
“sunghoon!”
when sunghoon heard you, he looked surprised to see you. “y/n? what are you doing here?”
you walk towards sunghoon and you felt jungkook holding your elbows, walking with you. you immediately pulled your arm away.
“and what are you wearing?”
“i invited her. who the fuck are you?”
sunghoon rushes to go to you, “i’m her brother. she’s 15 you pedo.”
jungkook looked surprised. “i-i'm almost 16.” you immediately say.
“my bad.” jungkook raises his hands and immediately walks away. you were pissed. you look back at sunghoon.
“y/n, come on.” sunghoon pulls you.
“what? what are you doing?” you whisper to sunghoon.
sunghoon pulls you but you try to pull it away. “what are you doing here?”
"will you let go of me?” you pulled your arm away but sunghoon holds it again.
“no, y/n…”
“you’re embarrassing me.”
“oh, i’m embarrassing you? you’re embarrassing.”
“why am i embarrassing?” this time, you raised your voice.
“quit embarrassing yourself.”
“stop it!”
“are you kidding me?”
when you had the chance to pull yourself away from sunghoon, you fell on the ground. great. but when you got up, you turn to see something that disgusted you.
“y/n?”
heeseung was kissing a girl. and you actually had to see it with your own eyes.
“i thought you hated the red sox?” you noticed the girl wearing the red sox cap look at heesueng then back at you.
“okay, i’m sorry but…who are you?” red sox girl was eyeing you from head to toe.
“y/n. who are you?”
“i’m yunjin." she says with a judgemental tone.
"heeseung does your mom even know you’re hooking up with some girl?
"some girl? i’m yunjin, you brat.”
“oh, i’m sorry was i talking to you?”
“y/n, can you just please go home?”
you look at heeseung full of rage. sunghoon tries to get in your way, “let’s go home, y/n.”
“y/n! you came.” jake came running towards you with a smile on his face. at least someone was happy you were here.
“come on—”
“i'm about to take her home.” sunghoon grabs your hand.
“no!” you pull your hand away.
“sunghoon, chill out. go hang out with wonyoung or something.”
the girl beside sunghoon whispers, “let’s go.” sunghoon looks back at you, “fine. but just stay right here and don’t talk to anybody.”
“okay. all right. chill, bro.”
sunghoon walks away with wonyoung beside him. you turn to sunghoon and yell, “fuck you!” raising both your middle fingers. you were sure sunghoon heard you and is probably scoffing.
“wow.” jake seemed surprised but when he saw how you’re still in a bad mood, he shifts the topic. “listen, for one,” he puts his hands on your shoulders, “i'm really happy you’re here.”
you gave jake a smile. jake always seemed to be on your side no matter what. even if he and sunghoon were the closest ones, you and jake just seem to agree on everything.
“jake!”
jake turns around and you see karina and her friends waiting for him. they were giving you a judgmental stare.
“okay, i will be right back.” jake reassures you and you nod before he goes back to karina. you look at heeseung and yunjin again. she had her hand on heeseung’s cheek. you felt so disgusted at how they were looking all lovey-dovey in front of you. you were more mad at heeseung though. before you could feel yourself explode, you ran off the scene.
***
it’s been thirty minutes since you’ve been at the beach. people were staring to make out. they were probably drunk. everyone here was with someone or with their friends. you, on the other hand are sitting alone by the bonfire where heeseung and yunjin are. they were making out again. you shake your head and looked the other way.
deep down, you knew the real reason you were pissed at heeseung was because you wanted him to notice you. at least tell you how good you looked tonight. yet, he wanted you to go home like your brother.
you looked around. there were four boys talking and they were about your age. one of them caught your eye. he looked cute. he wasn’t holding a cup unlike his friends. then he saw you looking at him. you immediately shift your gaze away and pretended to look at the ocean.
minutes later someone called you, “flavia?”
you look up and saw the boy you’ve been eyeing a while ago.
“hi! It’s me. sextus.”
“excuse me?”
he waves his hand, “oh no, no, no. sex-tus.” he pronounces it per syllable.
“oh. um…i’m sorry do i know you?”
the boy approaches you closer and is now standing in front of you.
“you took up latin class in 7th grade, right?”
your eyes grew wide when you suddenly remember who he was.
“you’re flavia, right? you placed second in the poem recitation.”
you laughed, “yeah, that’s me.”
you can hear the boy’s friends snickering in the background while they were looking at the both of you.
“you dressed for the costume contest, right?”
“yup, that’s me.” he smiled. he looked much cuter up close.
“weren’t you a wizard or something?”
“close. i was charon, ferryman of the dead.” the boy bows, “salve, flavia.”
you copy his gesture, “salve, sextus.”
“my real name is not sextus, though. it’s jay.”
“and my real is not flavia. it's y/n.”
“cool.” jay nods his head and you can sense that he was feeling akward. you gesture on the empty spot beside you. “you can sit down if you want.”
jay looks back at his friends and you can see them getting more excited. they were giggling and slapping each other’s shoulders like little kids.
“oh. okay, cool. yeah, i would love to.” jay sits right beside you, “you caught me on my way out, but, uh, i can chill.”
you look at jay’s friends at the back, “are your friends alright with you being here?”
“uh…yeah, yeah. of course, they are.” jay immediately looks at his friends and gestures them to go far away. you giggle at his reaction and jay’s friends got the signal. they were giving him a thumbs up and an “okay” sign before leaving.
“sorry about that. they can be really…you know.”
“no, it’s alright. are you new this summer though?”
“oh, no. i’m from here. are you?”
“no, i’ve been coming to cousins since i was a baby.”
jay looked surprised, “what? how have we not met until now? i totally would’ve remembered you.” both of you laughed and you looked at jay with a smile.
“i think it’s because i stick pretty close to home when i’m here.”
“how come?”
“i guess because i don’t know anybody, other than my family.”
“now you do.”
you giggle again, “you’re right.”
your body was freezing. but your cheeks were warm. a boy, a cute boy you met tonight was beside you and you were here in a bonfire at the beach. it was like a scene from a movie. girls meets boy. they talk, giggle, smile at each other. fall in love…
“are you cold?” you were surprised when jay starts taking off his jacket.
“oh, no, no. i’m okay. i’m fine.”
“no, no, it’s fine. i don’t even like this hoodie anyway.”
“really?” you can’t remember how many times you have been giggling the whole night. but you couldn’t help how nice jay is.
“yeah, it’s gross.” jay places it on your shoulders.
“great. i’ll take it off your hands.” jay is close to you. you can feel sparks crawling up your skin. after jay places the jacket on your shoulder, he looks at the ocean. you, on the other hand, kept looking at him. jay may look like one of those bad boys from 80s films. but the way he treated you just now, he was a gentleman. a nice, sweet, caring, gentleman.
everyone was busy with the keg. you remember jake mentioning how this yeonjun guy brought it. suddenly, you remember the incident that happened a while ago.
“hey, did everybody see me fall before?”
jay looked hesitant, “um…sort of. yeah.”
you let out a sigh, “my brother is such a dick.” you rub your forehead.
“your brother. so, like, who are the other…the other guys you were with?”
jay pauses for a while. “was one of them…your boyfriend?”
“oh no. they’re my mom’s best friend’s sons.”
“oh, cool.”
“we stay at there house every summer.”
“really?”
“yup. they’re just mad that i’m here. not jake though.”
“well, i’m really glad that you came.” once again, your heart fluttered.
“because i did not want to come here. my friends wanted to and made me come. i knew it was just going to be a bunch of kids, like, getting drunk. but I don’t drink at all.”
“me neither.”
you can see jay looking at you from your peripheral vision. you decided to distract the both of you.
“so how do you know these summer people if you’re local?”
“my mom works at the country club. i basically grew up around them.”
“cool.”
“so uh…why did you suddenly change your mind on not staying at home tonight?" jay asks. somehow it didn’t make you feel awkward that he was asking a personal question. but you knew you couldn’t tell him the real reason.
“i just wanted to see how teenagers spend the summer. as a kid, i’d always stay up in my room. read harry potter or play with my dolls.”
“no way, you read harry potter?”
“yeah. it was my childhood.”
“house?”
“ravenclaw.”
“hufflepuff." jay points at himself.
you felt comfortable. somehow, your rage towards and sunghoon and heeseung were forgotten. your laughter died down a little. but you kept looking at jay while he was looking at his phone.
“it’s pretty late. um…i really don’t want to leave right now, but i have to be up really early in the morning because my friends and i will be interning on a whale-watching boat.”
“oh wow.”
“yeah. it would be really, really great if you want…”
you weren’t able to hear what jay said when you heard two guys fighting at the other side. you became worried when you heard heeseung. he was waddling and jungkook was trying to pull his beer from him but he wouldn’t let him.
“oh my gosh. i’ll be right back.” you stand up, “i’m sorry. don’t go anywhere.” jay nods his head.
you ran going to where the ruckus was. yunjin was blocking heeseung from pushing jungkook but he kept on insisting he was fine.
“heeseung you’re drunk. just give him the beer.”
“no, no. i’m fine.”
“why don't you listen to your lady.”
“give me the beer back.”
“heeseung…”
yunjin looked like she gave up and stood behind heeseung.
“he’s fine. he’s a really big man.”
“fuck you.”
jungkook scoffs and pulls heeseung’s bottle of beer from him.
“you’re not taking my fucking beer.”
“relax, it’s just one beer.” jungkook’s voice was raising as he tries to pull heeseung’s beer from him.
“i paid for this, dude.”
you ran faster, worried where this might lead to.
“you guys, you guys, you guys.”
suddenly, you were on the ground and you let out a grunt. your cheek ached from jungkook’s elbow hitting your cheek.
“y/n!”
heeseung was about to go to you when you heard him grunting and him being pushed away. everyone seemed shocked. you couldn’t get up, still feeling the sting from that punch.
“what the fuck is wrong with you?” you heard heeseung say before you heard him being punched.
you touched your cheek and hissed. when you saw heeseung being tackled by jungkook, you were about to stand up when jay worriedly approached you.
“oh my god, are you okay?” jay touches your and and looks at your face. he helps you up as you hold his hands. you can hear jake trying to some jungkook from punching heeseung. you were sure you heard him curse when he’s never done that before.
“hey, cut it out!” you hear jake scream again. jungkook and heeseung continue grunting as they push each other to the ground. suddenly, you see red and blue lights and hear sirens.
“cops!”
you panicked but jay immediately pulls you away and both of you ran. everyone else did the same. some were grabbing their coolers and chairs. you felt sorry for the yeonjun boy who brought a keg.
“fuck you!” you heard jungkook scream.
like how fast the waves land on the shore and back at the ocean, that’s how fast you ran going to jake’s car. you and jay caught your breaths. minutes later, jake came back with heeseung who was waddling.
“come on. get in the car. watch your head.”
jake opens the door and heeseung gets in, lying down on the backseat.
“legs.”
“yes, i know how to get in the car.”
jake closes the door and goes to the driver’s seat.
“that was a nice turn of events.” both you and jay giggled.
“y/n, let’s go. get in.” jake points at the shotgun seat with his head.
“um…jay can give me a ride home. right, jay?”
“uh…yes. that’s no problem.”
“no, you’re not going to get in a car with a guy you just met.”
you can see heeseung sitting down and fixing his hair.
“i’m jay, by the way. y/n and i actually know each other from 7th grade latin convention. so we’re not total strangers.”
“okay. no offense, but no. y/n, get in the car.”
“just get in the car.” heeseung says with his slurry voice.
you see jay looking at heeseung and jake then at you. “uh…you should probably go. but, the whaling boat that i intern on, it leaves at dawn every morning from the piers.”
you give him a smile, forgetting heeseung and jake were there.
“i was wondering if you would want to come.”
you nod your head, “yeah, yes. i mean, how else would you get your hoodie back, right?”
jay lets out a laugh, “right.”
you look at your feet as you and jay laugh before looking back at him. then you thought, this could be your summer wish. this night, this boy.
you look at jake and heeseung before leaning forward to jay, giving him a kiss on the cheek. when you pulled away, both of you were blushing.
i’ll just…” you gestured to the door of the car.
“oh yeah.” jay moves back and lets you pass. you open the door and got in still giggling.
"bye.” you look at jay.
“see you.” jay says, still smiling before walking away.
jake starts the car then drives away. suddenly he hits the brakes, “shit! sunghoon!” jake puts the car on P.
“watch heeseung. i’ll be right back.” jake gets out of the car.
you and heeseung were left alone. but all you could think was how you spent your first night in cousins with a boy. a nice boy.
your heart suddenly thumps when you felt heeseung touching your hair.
“your hair’s like a little kid’s, the way it’s so messy.”
you couldn’t breathe. heeseung kept playing with your hair. you looked at the mirror, heeseung was now looking at you. his cheeks were red.
“y/n…”
then someone knocks on the window.
***
“have you kids been drinking?”
“thank you, officers. i promise it won’t happen again. i can promise you that much.”
the cops nod their heads before leaving. your mom greets them a good night. the three of you were standing by the hallway while heeseung was sitting at the wooden chair, massaging his forehead. your mom closes the door then faces the four of you. she did not look happy.
“how could you guys be so irresponsible?”
sunghoon steps forward, “mom, it wasn’t a big deal. all right, seriously. the cops were just looking to break the bonfire.”
“not a big deal?”
“yes.”
“i would say getting picked up by the cops for underage drinking is a pretty big deal, sunghon.”
sunghoon sniffs the room then scoffs, “were you guys smoking tonight?”
“what?”
you were surprised and so was heeseung.
“keep your voice down. se ha is asleep on the couch.” your mom raised her voice.
“i wasn’t yelling. you-you-you were.” sunghoon gestures at your mom. jake immediately steps in.
“auntie, just so you know, i didn’t drink tonight. I was the DD, i swear.”
your mom shakes your head in disappointment then looks at heeseung, “you’re the oldest. what the hell’s gotten into you?” then she looks at you, “and when did you leave the house without telling anybody? and what in the world are you wearing?”
“mom, it’s somi’s. and why am I the only one who’s not allowed to go out?”
“it’s not that you’re allowed. it’s that you should have told us you were going. how did you even get there?”
“i walked.”
“jesus, y/n. you know better than to walk down the beach late at night.”
“can you stop treating me like a kid?”
“if you want to be treated like an adult, you need to act like one.”
“well maybe you guys should too.” heeseung suddenly speaks. your mom was stunned. “what does that mean?”
heeseung doesn’t reply and looks away.
“i hope you realize this night could’ve ended a lot differently if your family, wasn’t your family.”
“we’re sorry, auntie.” jake genuinely says.
your mom sighs, “just…go to bed guys.”
you left first then sunghoon, and jake. heeseung was about to leave when your mom stops him.
“i don’t understand what is going on with you.”
heeseung doesn't say anything until, “nothing. nothing’s going on.” before heading upstairs to his room.
“heeseung…” your mom calls but heeseung was already on his way up.
***
you were lying on your bed, hugging bambi with a pack of frozen peas on your cheek. your mom came by your room to check on you and gave you the frozen peas. she was frantic when she saw your bruise but you just told her how you fell by accident. of course, both of you were still mad that time. until your mom brought up how she noticed you wanting to be with the boys. something she always noticed when you were kids. then you realized, she wasn’t mad at you. just worried. you were just a baby then and now, with what your aunt se ha said, your mom just didn’t want to see you grow up just yet.
jake’s room was beside yours. and you had this code where you knock on each other’s walls to ask if you were still awake. jake knocked on his wall. once you heard it, you put down the frozen peas and knocked. you couldn’t sleep. you got your phone and texted somi.
you told her, it happened. somi replied with an exploding emoji, followed by, YOU KISSED HEESEUNG??
y/n: no, it was a boy I met at the bonfire. sextus.
somi: SEX WHAT? TELL ME EVERYTHING.
and you did. you told somi how you went to the beach, saw Jungkook, sunghoon telling you to go home and fell to the ground, saw heeseung making out with yunjin, how you met jay, and so on.

it felt like you only slept for two hours until you realized it was dawn. you got your phone, got up from bed, and wore the jacket jay gave you. you were excited to meet jay again. you can talk about what happened last night and how amazing it was.
when you got down to the kitchen, you noticed a glass was placed in the sink. you thought it was heeseung since he’s the early bird. you looked for him by the pool but he wasn’t there. you thought maybe he’s by the beach.
heeseung was sitting down with an unlighted cigarette. he was wearing the same jacket he wore last night. when you spotted him, you immediately approached him with a smile on your face.
“hey.”
heeseung looks up and you sat down beside him.
“last night was amazing—”
“a shit show.” heeseung interrupts. your smile falters.
heeseung looks at your bruised cheek, “you know you’re going to have a black eye tomorrow, right?”
“well,” you clap your hands together, “it’s already tomorrow.”
both of you were quiet again. you were staring at the sky in the horizon while heeseung was looking at his feet. until you broke your silence.
“hey do…do you remember anything that happened last night? i mean you were pretty wasted.”
“i always remember everything when I drink.”
you nod your head. it was quiet again. all you could hear were the waves crashing and feel the little grains of sand on your legs. heeseung brought the cigarette to his lips and clicked his lighter.
“let me have a puff.”
“no.” heeseung continues lighting his cigarette.
“mhm.”
“no.”
“yes.”
“no.”
“yes.”
heeseung stops clicking his lighter and looks at you, “no.” his tone was livelier.
“your mom would kill me.”
“okay, fine. then if i can’t smoke, you can’t smoke.”
heeseung smiles, biting his cigarette before taking it off his lips. “same old, y/n.” he places it on his ear like how an architect puts a pencil on their ear.
you laugh because you knew heeseung didn’t win this round. you stare at the ocean while it was heeseung’s turn to stare at the horizon.
“hey, let’s go pick up some muffins before everybody else gets up.” heeseung offers.
“actually,” you stand up, “i have somewhere that i need to be.” you felt excited as you start running.
“wait, where are you going?”
you turn your head back, “to see about a whale!”
“what does that mean?”
you didn’t bother answering as you ran faster.
you thought this summer is like going to be all the other summers. but it’s not. because you won’t let it be.

i dont know if they ever intend to tell us anything about ryans backstory because its not necessarily important to his character and it could be enough for us to know that he used to disobey his parents to go see his girlfriend of the time instead, and that he alludes to karinas parents being nice in a way that makes me think his own parents arent like that
but because hes an amalgamation of kotetsus and barnabys traits in a lot of ways, ive built my own ideal reality. also, this was supposed to be a really short post but its actually unnecessarily long and rambling and actually has little to do with his backstory in the end, and tumblr will cut it off thankfully.
its my blog and i post whatever i want, including my stream of consciousness thoughts. here. have this ryan figurine i think about on a regular basis
Tumblr media
in my mind he would be from a well-off enough family and he wouldve started his career as a child and the hero work wasnt his topmost wish always. nowadays hes obviously rich, but i often think about KOW the rising saying that he likes to study tax plans and is good at buying in bulk...
anyhow, i think it would be fitting if his parents were kinda lacking in the parenting department. why did he become the wandering gravity prince? did he not want to stay with them, he never really talks about them even when its topical, they dont seem important to him. hes looking for a place to not get backstabbed and his first instinct is go to sternbild after a devastating injury and not like, show up at home for a bit at least?
kotetsus mom is still around and we know shes nice and doing the most really, and kotetsu has a brother who supports him too. kotetsu also is a very normal person without particular talents. in contrast, as we know, barnaby lost his parents who were busy but cared about him, and he was then raised by maverick who only wanted to use him and never cared about him.
barnaby is also a virtuoso in so many things, what is he not good at? he can have himself a perfect celebrity persona and do so many things so well. he was smart even as a kid. kotetsu, on the other hand, has no particular talents, however, he scored himself an eventual wife and a best friend for life (antonio!) when he was still in high school.
sure, he does dumb stuff all the time, but hes a decent guy who can make people laugh. hes well-liked enough, and he has a penchant for making genuine human connection even (and because of) his meddlesome nature. barnaby has difficulties making friends, in contrast. and if were absolutely honest, ryan is much more like kotetsu in the sense that underneath all of his ego that gets in the way of everything, hes actually a relatively normal guy with no particular talents beyond being extremely loud and proud about himself. without his ego he pretty much has nothing.
every day he wakes up and pretends to have both the positive traits of barnaby and kotetsu, when actually he kind of has both of their negative traits. his motto, too, is about believing in himself. as long as he believes hes perfect, then he can convince others of it too.
so hes a little bit like barnaby, who has a very likable and nice public image to supplement his shortcomings as a person who has difficulties connecting with people... but he goes beyond and above and makes no distinction between who he really is and what his “public image” is. his ego is Him, because its all he really has, and it gets in the way of genuine human connections.
again, in his schedule he is noted that he “had a pleasant time” at an event with a lot of celebrities, but theyre just his acquantaices. he keeps giving his number out to women, takes a woman home from a date and getting texted that the vibe was off, and he just goes okey-dokey and continues unbothered and arranges an another date
but then his buddy hero partner karina is about to DITCH him for kotetsu just like barnaby did (not that he cares. it was his master plan btw) and hes ready to flee the city immediately and cries.
does that really seem like a man who has a lot of genuine friends, like kotetsu has for example?
no... ryan has a lot of surface-level acquantaices and so on. hes well-liked enough, but the image he projects is absolutely insufferable and doesnt seem genuine (despite it being genuine, because he really just is like that), which also has made people consider him a rival to a degree it seems they arranged for gregory to cause ryan to lose control of his power.
in the scene where he loses control, hes wearing civilian clothes. was he invited to a hangout with the heroes at the monument he was crushed under? it certainly wasnt during his work, but his co-workers are in their hero costumes. it  would also explain ryans preoccupation with being betrayed, which implies to me a more active role than just leaving him to be crushed to death under rubble.
even barnaby, in the rising, suspects ryan of being involved with the villain plot, which ryan catches on and brings up himself and acts unbothered about- he doesnt mind, he gets it a lot, it seems. he would know this, too, because hes good at reading people.
anyhow, attention is what he wants, and attention is what he gets... he doesnt even mind if the attention is a bit negative.
like kotetsu, hes kind of meddlesome with other people, but hes also the type to claim all credit (even for things he didnt do), like when at the end of rising the announces its his idea that barnaby and kotetsu should work together.
anyway, i think this all would perfectly fit in my fantasy of ryans parents not being really explicitly awful but maybe they just didnt care enough so ryan never received an adequate amount of attention and parental guidance, and ended up like this.
barnaby is an only child, and kotetsu has a brother who he is on good terms with...
ryan could be an only child (as he never mentions anything related to a sibling as far as i know, but some information is so hard to get. i wish i could read japanese), but i think it would be interesting if he had a sibling, and for no particular reasons, the sibling was always just a little bit better than ryan.
maybe they were smarter and had more realistic dreams (ryans wish is being the only number one. thats not even a wish. why did he even become a hero? i would say it was for attention. a guy with no life plans, really), or something, but it doesnt matter. losing in his parents eyes to something boring and cringe like a well-paying office job or a doctor or something. but thats something just for additional comedic purposes for me personally bc i think itd fit for him to be an only child
i also like to entertain the idea his parents wouldve pushed him into the entertainment field and i do love the idea that he was involved in a lot of things (like modeling etc) before ending up becoming a hero, which wouldve been one of his first choices he made for himself
hes not a bad person by all means, but to me at least before rising he more cared about the fame and attention part and people thinking hes an awesome person. theyll appreciate him then.
but then he learned about the power of friendship and now he can better focus on being a good person in the way he knows how to be (extremely meddlesome and getting into your personal business but nonetheless hes doing his best)
he definitely was like that as a kid too, you know how some kids are just so nosy? i also like to think he was the type of kid who just makes up outrageous lies and cant even tell why, which he stopped doing as an older teen and moved into exaggerating his life instead
i think hes always been really outgoing and the class clown-type who causes problems at school but like most kids who act like that, he was trying to get attention because he was going through something
and lets face it, hes kind of weird with how over-the-top he is. his apartment has black marble and leather and gold and he has frescoes of himself on his walls... this sort of eccentricity doesnt just happen overnight, im sure hes always been a little bit like that
but its harder to get bullied when you just tell everyone youre awesome with utmost confidence. kids dont really know how to react to something like that, its pretty easy to convince people youre cool as long as you can just act the part (source: me). you can get all of your weird traits excused if you own them and act like its the most natural thing (even if it wont stop people talking behind your back) anyway i think that deep down he knows that hes nothing special and has known since he was a kid but this lifestyle of his isnt something he can back down from. hes perfect because he says so and if he admitted otherwise it would be equivalent to getting executed.
he made his bed now he has to lie in it. but hey its a nice bed with silk sheets and damn he looks good

Old Tigers Can’t Learn New Tricks
Summary: Kotetsu’s tired of being teased about only being able to cook fried rice.  He’s prepared to prove them all wrong.  No, really.
-
AN:  This takes place somewhere between The Rising and T&B2.  Kotetsu and Barnaby are too much of a married couple in the new season that I suspect something finally happened during that time-lapse.
I also just wanna caveat that I haven’t written fanfics in nearly a decade, so I’m really sorry if this is a bit rusty.  But these characters have been living rent-free in my brain for nearly a year now and after royally screwing up dinner the other night I felt inspired to write something.  That something ended up being 2k words on Kotetsu being the dork we know and love. Hope you all enjoy this!
I don’t have an AO3 account so decided to just post this here.
Shitty title is shitty.
Pao-Lin’s birthday was tomorrow, and the heroes had decided to do a potluck at the work to celebrate. Karina was the main organizer and made sure to stress that there was one rule:  it had to be homemade.  Something about it being more heartfelt.  Which Kotetsu was totally fine with.  He was a great cook, ask anyone!
Or at least, he was totally fine with it until Antonio and Nathan both turned to him and ordered him not to make fried rice.  Oh come on! He complains to his friend a couple times about all the flack his mom gives him and now it’s a thing? And then Barnaby, his own Bunny, had the audacity to also comment on him not making fried rice for tomorrow. But Pao-Lin loved it when Kotetsu brought them all his signature dish for the babysitting gig!
So, he grumbled an agreement, because lord help him, he was going to prove to everyone that he does in fact know how to cook more than one dish!  And it’ll be so damn good it’ll knock the grumpiness right out of those new rookies.
The recipe seemed easy enough.  Basically, just some cheesy pasta with broccoli.  And hey, Bunny and Kaede kept insisting he needed more vegetables, so look, go him.  The ingredients called for stuff Kotetsu had never even heard of before, but that didn’t deter him in the least.  When he couldn’t find whatever the hell boursin cheese and malfadine pasta was, he figured gouda and angel hair would be good enough.  The picture on the recipe looked like long noodles, and hey, angel hair was long.  And who doesn’t love gouda?
Once home, Kotetsu tied on his apron, mentally preparing himself for the amazing dish he was about to make.  Glancing down at his phone, he noted that the recipe called for “shaved” broccoli. Pursing his lips, he looked back over to the bag of greens he got and shrugged.  Eh, fuck it.  Florets were good enough.  It was still the same damn broccoli.
Grabbing the two pots he had in the cupboard, Kotetsu filled one with water and the other with broccoli. As he worked on stirring the greens, he noticed the other pot begin to boil, and he quickly added the pasta.  Or.  He tried to. Attempting to dump half the box into the pot lead to a vast majority of the pasta scattering across the stovetop. Cursing, Kotetsu scrambled to pick up as much of the stringy pasta as he could before he could smell burning. Aaaand now his broccoli was burning. Just great.
Tossing as much of the pasta as he could into the pot, Kotetsu frantically stirred the broccoli to try to salvage what he could.  It was going decently, until stray bits of pasta began to catch on fire from the stove’s lit gas.  Shit shit shit shit.  One hand continuing to stir, Kotetsu grabbed what he could with the other and tossed the flaming bits of pasta into the boiling pot.  He prayed to whoever would listen that the flames didn’t decide gluten wasn’t enough and needed to feast on his very exposed wrist.
Fire mostly put out, Kotetsu decided to go ahead and add the cheese to the broccoli.  The taste would mask any burnt crisps, probably. Except…ten minutes into letting the cheese sit on the hot pan and the little pieces of shit still weren’t melting. Frowning, Kotetsu turned off all the burners, wiped his hands on the apron, and searched on his phone for the best way to melt gouda.  Huh, microwave it is.
Scooping the clumps of cheese out of the pan and into a bowl, Kotetsu shoved them into the microwave and stood as patiently as he could for the next 15 seconds.  He cleaned up what he could, tapping his foot anxiously against the tile as he waited for this damn cheese to melt.  It would be the only saving grace to this disaster of a meal.
As soon as the ding popped up, he opened the door with a semi-hopeful expression, only for it to drop immediately to see the still solid-looking clumps of gouda.  Cursing, he slammed the microwave door shut and nuked them again.  And again. And again.  By this point it wasn’t so much melted cheese as weird lumpy bits of goo.  Having a feeling that this was about as good as it was going to get, Kotetsu groaned and reached for the bowl, only to yelp in pain as the porcelain was significantly hotter than he anticipated.  With barely suppressed frustration he yanked a towel off the oven handle and wrapped it around the bowl before grabbing it and dumping the cheese goop onto the pasta.
Mixing everything together as best he could, Kotetsu had his doubts about the food.  It….didn’t look appetizing.  But hey, looks can be deceiving.  Don’t judge a book by its cover.  All that jazz.  Filling up a small bowl for a test run, Kotetsu took one bite before glaring with pure hatred at the remainder of the pasta.  It was fucking disgusting.
Throwing his hands up in surrender, Kotetsu grabbed a beer from the fridge and huffed his way to the living room, not even bothering to clean up the mess he had just made in the kitchen.  Pouting as he plopped himself on the couch and cracked open the drink, he took a long hearty swig of the bitter ale as he considered his options.  It was too late, and he was too damn frustrated to start over, but maybe he could call Barnaby and help out with his dish?  Then he could claim it was a team effort.  Kind of a cop-out, but hey, Karina never said it was a rule that he couldn’t.
With a sigh, Kotetsu got back up from his couch to retrieve his phone from the war zone of a kitchen. Barnaby was never gonna let him live this down and he knew it.  Hesitating for a moment longer, he let himself call his partner.
It took longer for the line to pick up than he expected, but as soon as he heard a weary hello, Kotetsu felt his lips finally turn up into a smile.  “Bunny!  Hey, want any help with your potluck dish?  You know I’d be more than happy to come over and lend a hand.”  There was a brief pause as if Barnaby was taking his time to consider his answer.
“Sorry Kotetsu, I’m just about done here.  I mostly need to clean up and then was going to take care of my plants for the rest of the night.”  God damn it. There went that plan.  Although….
“You, uh, want any help cleaning?”  This time, Barnaby did not hesitate to respond with a swift no.  Well, guess he was still holding a grudge from last month.
“Aw, c’mon Bunny!  You know it was an accident!  How was I supposed to know you kept your dish soap and dishwasher gel right next to each other?”  There was a bit of a plea in his voice.  If he contributed at least something, then he could get away with “helping” make the dish.
“Old man, it took two weeks for the new parts to come in for the repairs.  You are never touching my washer again; do you hear me?” An argument was on the tip of his tongue when Barnaby cut him off with a sharp “Do you hear me, Kotetsu?”
Rolling his eyes at his partner, the older man gave a nod.  Remembering Barnaby couldn’t see him he quipped “yeah yeah Bunny, I hear ya. I’m old, not senile.”
“Good.  Now, is there anything else you needed?”  Kotetsu could just hear the smugness in the other man’s voice.  God, why did Barnaby have the most punchable yet kissable face?  It really gives a guy emotional whiplash.
“Nah, think I’m just gonna watch some tv and call it a night.  See ya tomorrow Bunny.”  He almost added a ‘love you,’ but knew Barnaby wasn’t quite ready for that kind of send-off.  They were taking it slow, and Kotetsu could respect that.  Trauma was a bitch.
“Good night Kotetsu,” his partner said softly, before hanging up.
Sighing, Kotetsu placed his phone on the coffee table and glanced over to the kitchen.  He was going to need a few more beers before he tackled that mess.
---
Juggling four boxes of pizza in one hand as he swiped his badge on the turnstile, Kotetsu looked around nervously.  He knew he was going to get flack for not bringing something homemade, but he’d rather deal with that after at least one cup of coffee.  Resigning himself to his fate, he headed for the elevators.
And sure enough, one rallying cup of coffee later, Kotetsu’s ass was called out the moment he walked through the sliding door of the gym.  All eyes were on him, at least of the heroes who had shown up so far, and Subaru, of course being him, was the first to say something.  “Hey!  That’s cheating!  It was supposed to be homemade, Tiger!”
Sighing, he placed the pizzas on the table where other food was spread out, dividing the boxes in stacks of two for pepperoni and cheese.  “Yeah, yeah, I know.  But…” He’d been thinking about his excuse since last night.  Kotetsu really didn’t want to be the butt end of a joke for the next week because he really can’t make anything besides fried rice.  And he sure as shit wasn’t going to admit as much. “Well, something came up with my daughter last night so I kinda ran out of time.”
The annoyed expression on Karina’s face quickly turned into one of panic.  “What’s going on with Kaede?”
Shit.  Okay, using his daughter as a scapegoat was not a great idea. Eyes wide, he turned to his younger coworker with hands held up.  “Oh, no! Nothing’s wrong!  She just uh…needed help.  With homework.”
The look of panic on the girl’s face slowly transformed into confusion.  “Huh?  Homework? But usually, she calls me if she’s stuck with something?”  Damn it, he forgot Karina was bit of a mentor to his little girl after they met.  C’mon Tiger, think of something.
“O-oh, well, it was Japanese homework.”  There. That was a safe option.  No one would question him on that.
Sure enough, Karina nodded, concern gone.  Before Kotetsu could say anything else that could have potentially dug his grave deeper, a hand tightly clamped onto his shoulders.  Startled, he looked over to see Keith with his typical million-watt smile. “C’mon guys, let’s not give Mr. Tiger a hard time.  I for one love pizza!”
Goddess bless Keith and his overflowing well of optimism.  The heroes that were around murmured their agreements and carried on with decorating the gym for Pao-Lin’s birthday.
---
Kotetsu had been deep in a conversation with Pao-Lin, Laura, and Ivan when he spotted Barnaby walking through the gym door with a tote bag.  Waving excitedly to his partner, he excused himself from the others so he could greet him.  The blonde looked around at the table, eyebrows knit together in confusion. “Kotetsu, where’s your pa-“
Kotetsu quickly cut him off, “pizza?  Oh, right here Bunny!  I know you prefer the one with veggies, but figured I’d play it safe and get the basics for everyone.”  Damn it, he forgot he’d showed Barnaby the recipe he found while scrolling through his computer at work.  Absolutely avoiding paperwork.
Barnaby raised a brow, quietly commenting, “that bad huh?” before opening his tote and pulling out a large, ceramic serving dish.
Placing it on the table with the rest of the food, the blonde had a small smirk on his lips as he lifted the lid to reveal an entire platter of fried rice.  Glancing over to his partner, his smile became more apologetic. “I only told you not to make fried rice so I could surprise you with mine.  I think I finally got the recipe right this time.”  Kotetsu’s heart swelled at the gesture, wishing he could kiss his Bunny right then and there.  Instead, he settled for a gentle hip-check.  A silent I love you too embedded in those actions.
“Hey Kid, come try this rice and tell me if it’s any better than mine!  I know it’s been a while, but Bunny over here had to steal my thunder, so we need an unbiased judge!”
AN: I imagine Keith bringing in cupcakes with little icing pawprint decorations.  Because of course he would.

Just finished S2 of Tiger and Bunny and…
During the whole final fight I was like can anyone just catch Gregory and so something about him pls, like the guy was just chilling in his robot(?) watching the fight for the whole time … and many things about him, including the way he made his power work got me 🫣
That love hate relationship I have with Thomas! Like I still found Subaru sometimes too good for him/too kind like … always trying to get along with him, even finding his sister and the guy decides to leave AND DONT EVEN SAY GOODBYE TO HIM? Luckily he did come back to fight by his side and they finally manage to work together, but urgh they really came a long way! The ending makes me want to imagine Subaru cooking lasagnas for Thomas now…
I still don’t get the necessity to kill Yuri or like it seems so ? I mean I’m not an expert but the wound he had seemed pretty serious, he threw himself off a tower and he set fire to himself … then again we didn’t see his impact in the water, but I would guess so, that seems like the end for him :/ I felt like he was a good antagonist, haunted by his past and convinced to do what was right, and we had a bit of ‘redemption’ for him so why kill him right after?
The entire buddies relationship Lara/Pao-Lin, Nathan/Keith, Ivan/Antonio, Ryan/Karina are all soooooo … tbh I’m ending up shipping them more than reasonably I think. The whole perfect duo, running together, dogs dad/mom, caring for each other of Nathan and Keith just show how they get along well, which makes me root for them even if they’re not my favorite. Lara/Pao-Lin are just adorable and defending each other above all, the whole mentorship-friendship is cute. Ryan/Karina are so conflictual at least at first but they’re getting along more and more and even getting close at some point and confiding in each other, there’s always this teasing tone between them that is nice to see. Ivan/Antonin are also kind of unlikely but it’s crazy to see them getting along well too, even drinking together!
The Ouroboros whole being behind that affair shows sign how it’s going to be the main antagonist in the end - at least their actions until then seems to show it. They have people everywhere and seems to be ready to act anyhow, but even as for now we only got a rough picture of what they want/who they are, and most of the people we got to know coming from them didn’t last, though they’re the only clue to find the link to the association. That still seems a bit vague and I guess there’s more to be seen but the problem is that …
We have a Tiger that doesn’t have powers anymore. To be honest, I felt it coming but urgh I still don’t like it. It was something that could be guessed since they prepared us for that in the long time, showing his powers decreasing but now that’s it, Kotetsu is no longer a next. It feels weird and it makes me wonder, the anime is Tiger and Bunny and we haven’t had the whole truth and dismantlement about Ouroboros, will we have it one day ?
(though, tbh, when he said he didn’t have powers so he would retire, I almost screamed, wait a sec! Batman exists yknow ! You could be a kind of Batman! Pls don’t leave me and don’t leave Barnaby- ahem)
But anyway, that last scene was heartbreaking. With the reminder of their beginnings. Barnaby crying. Kotetsu crying. That was terrible. Although predictable, I didn’t want the end to come like this, what a way to end the season, honestly it made me feel unwell. I have adored in an unexpected way Tiger and Bunny in their season 1 and seeing them return for a season 2 was lovely, but urgh I feel shared because of the ending and the mysteries.
Still got me some fics idea, that may or may not exist one day;
Thomas/Subaru (mostly inspiration by Thomas wanting to leave the town with his sister) : something along the lines Thomas isn’t around and Subaru gets hurt rather badly. Submerged with guilt, Thomas realized he shouldn’t have pushed Subaru away that much and that maybe one of the reason he did so was that he felt something he never did before … something akin to love..?
Kotetsu/Barnaby : An OC fic about a girl with time powers. Maybe a link with Ouroboros could be made, because no way they would let such a great power on its own. Kotetsu happens to see her in distress, most likely chased by bad guys, and helps her. She offers to give him back his powers as a gift, and Kotetsu has to contemplate whether he wants to live that life again or not, and all that it entails, while Ouroboros starts to move again and may try to target people that are precious to him…
Ivan/Antonio fic (mostly inspiration from that moment where Ivan screams he can’t die yet, he has to give him his gift for his birthday and Antonin says it’s for Agnes) : heartbroken Ivan that yet still cheers and roots for Antonio to confess, seeks some comfort from his friend Edward. However as he gets drunk with Antonio, he accidentally reveals him that ‘he can’t think of him only as a friend, especially someone who helped him and comforted him so much’. As Ivan’s birthday gets closer, he doesn’t know his words made Antonio reflect a lot and his present may be more surprising than he thinks…

Young Love and Old Money Ch 3
PAIRING: REINER X F!READER
Genre: angst, smut
Word Count: 2,061
Chapter CW: mentions of sex
Summary: Reiner is finally back from Paradis after 2 long years of fighting, but what happens when he realizes the girl he left behind has moved on?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Y/N?"
The wood of Reiner's door muffled Karina's voice, but there was no mistaking it nonetheless. Simultaneously, all the blood and the smile drained from Reiner's face as your eyes locked, the gravity of the situation landing heavily on you.
You were engaged. To someone else. Someone who was not Reiner Braun.
And you'd just let him fuck you on his kitchen table.
"Oh my god," you breathed as Reiner scrambled to pull on his pants, tossing you your shirt. It landed in your lap, and you stared down at it, blinking slowly.
You'd let Reiner fuck you on his table. And now you were going to be caught. Everything you'd worked for, everything your family had done for you, would be destroyed in one instant; everything good Reiner had done for Marley would be considered unimportant. Any second now, Karina would walk in that door, maybe with someone, and--
"Hey." Reiner's voice brought you back to him as he kneeled before you, pulling your skirt back down over your legs as he spoke. He stopped at the look on your face and stood, taking your shirt from you and helping you slide it over your head, brushing your hair back behind your ears. There was nothing he could do about the tear tracks on your face except hope that his mother wouldn't ask.
"Y/N. Look at me." he gripped your face in both hands, forcing you to look at him. "We did nothing wrong, okay? Nothing." He promised, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before quickly guiding you off the table. He bent down and scooped your underwear off the floor, shoving it in his pocket.
He had barely tucked his shirt in when the door swung open, and he moved to sweep his mother into a tight hug.
"Mom! I wasn't expecting you to drop by already," he forced out with a smile as Karina looked at him, her eyes flicking over to you with concern.
"Well, everyone was wondering where the two of you were. I didn't expect you to be together," Karina admitted, addressing you as she stepped around her son.
The sound of crushed glass made you all stiffen as Karina looked down, finally noticing the shattered tea seat beneath her boot.
"What happened here?" She questioned, mouth parted in surprise.
"I tripped."
"I knocked it out of her hand on accident."
You avoided Reiners gaze as you both spoke simultaneously, your face heating with shame at being caught in a lie so easily. Karina was silent as she knelt to inspect the glass, looking between the two of you for a long while.
"That's a shame. It was a beautiful set, but accidents happen." She finally spoke, eyes boring into you. "Thomas is looking for you," she added casually, gathering the larger glass pieces in her palm.
You swallowed thickly at the mention of your fiancé, suddenly very aware of the fact that Reiner's release was beginning to leak out of you.
You dipped your head in thanks, quickly crouching across from the older woman as you reached to help her. "Thank you for letting me know. I'll help clean this and go find him at once." You mumbled, pulling away when Karina waved a hand in dismissal.
"No need, Reiner and I are more than capable. After all, you have an engagement celebration to plan. That's more important than being here with us, right, Reiner?" Karina raised an eyebrow as she looked up at her son, who was startled at the sound of his name, his jaw clenched.
"Of course. It was good to see you after so long. Congrats." Reiner's tone was clipped, the words heavy on his tongue as he spoke. He avoided your gaze as you stood, hesitantly moving towards the door. You wanted to reach for his hand and promise him that you'd be back and talk soon, but with Karina there, you had no choice but simply dip your head in thanks.
"Welcome home, Reiner. We missed you," you murmured, hurrying for the door as Karina trailed behind. She pulled you into a tight hug as you reached for the door; her voice dropped to a whisper.
"Go home and clean up before you see Thomas," she warned, and you paled as she pulled away, returning to the mess of glass on the floor without a second glance. You hurried out, shutting the door quietly behind you as you hurried home.
Reiner was crouched down in his mother's place back inside the house as she swept up the smaller shards, clearing her throat. "I'm sure it was good to see her again after so long."
Reiner sat back on his heels with a sigh. "You could've warned me." He glanced up in surprise at his mother's scoff.
"I was going to. I just didn't expect you to go looking for her immediately, son. You didn't really give me a chance. Besides, I wasn't sure if you would've still had feelings for her." she shrugged. He gave her a look as he stood, brushing past her to the trash, and she sighed. "At least I had hoped. I see now that I couldn't be more wrong. I'm sorry." She reached out and squeezed his arm briefly.
He sat heavily in a kitchen chair, running his hands through his hair as he leaned back, closing his eyes. He could already feel the beginnings of a headache coming on.
"Reiner?" he peeled his eyes open at his mother's soft voice as she kneeled next to him. "I don't pretend to know what happened here today, but I'm guessing it's something her fiance shouldn't be made aware of, correct?" she pressed, and his gaze flicked away from her face guiltily. He never had been good at lying to her.
"Oh, Reiner," his mother's voice was filled with nothing but pity, and he clenched his jaw, defensive words already bubbling in the back of his throat. "Reiner, you have to let her go, her family-" he brushed her hands off his shoulder, and she sat back in surprise.
"I know. Won't happen again," he snapped, eyes widening in surprise when his mother gripped his chin and forced him to face her again.
"You're a good man, Reiner, a good son. Don't ever forget that. You made a mistake, that's all. What's important is that you don't repeat it. I like that girl too, but she's not worth destroying everything you worked for." her voice was firm, although her eyes softened at his expression, soothing a thumb over his jaw. "You need to shave," she chastised gently, and he forced a smile.
She'd referred to everything as a mistake. Was that all this was? Even worse, he found himself wondering if that's how you felt. Because for him, it wasn't a mistake, not even a little bit. Everything had felt right with you in his hands again, calling his name and slotting your mouth against his. All the pain, turmoil, and guilt of what he'd done, all of it, had melted away in an instant, and he'd felt whole again for the first time in years.
How could that have been just another mistake?
"It was a long trip back. I think I'm going to turn in for the night," Reiner hated the way his voice faltered, clearing it immediately. "I promise I'll shave tomorrow," he joked weakly as Karina stood, wincing at the stiffness in her joints.
"In that case, I will get out of your hair," Karina murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "I'm glad to have you home, sweetheart."
Reiner said nothing, watching his mother leave before he stood, hands on his waist as he glanced around the house. It was supposed to feel like home, yet he'd never felt so out of place.
He could clearly see you'd still been spending time here despite your engagement; dishes left to dry next to the sink, your favorite mug among them, a sweater on his couch, a book on the end table. He wondered for a split second if your fiance (Thomas, his mind supplied much to his annoyance) had also spent time here, but he pushed it aside before the idea consumed him.
He felt like a stranger here. He'd bought the house a couple of months before he'd left, back when he had decided he would marry you. It was supposed to be a new start for the two of you, and he'd had no qualms about having you practically move in before he left. Especially since he was going to need someone to watch the place anyways.
You had never officially spoken about what you were to one another, but you'd been friends since he was a kid. It was hard not to be since he saw you all the time in Warrior training.
Thanks to their assistance in Titan research, your family was already honorary Marleyans. It wasn't uncommon for your father, the previous Armored Titan's handler, to bring you along to work with him, claiming you'd learn more there than in your classes.
Thanks to your father, you took a particular interest in the armored titan, and more often than not, Reiner found himself in your company. It hadn't been hard to enjoy your presence then, and that feeling only grew throughout the years.
It wasn't until you finished school and joined the research team that Reiner started to fall, though. And he fell hard. He found himself consumed with something other than being a Warrior but refused to risk his friendship with you.
He'd been so surprised when you kissed him for the first time. It was more of a small peck against his lips, and you'd seemed just as shocked by your own actions as he had. Sure, there had been lingering stares and fingers brushing when you walked together, but you'd been friends for ages, and he assumed that closeness came with time.
Everything fell into place after that. Sure, you both had endured brief relationships in the past, but neither had been in love. At least before. You never went public with your relationship. Hell, you never even really defined what it was. Reiner had more than enough on his plate with being a Warrior, and you didn't want to risk your job by having a conflict of interest until you had a more cemented spot. Not to mention your family's reaction. But it wasn't like most people didn't know about the feelings you harbored for one another.
Not that it mattered. You'd work everything out eventually. Reiner had you in his arms, in his bed, in his future, and that was enough.
At least that's what he'd thought.
He trudged up the stairs, his feet heavy with sudden exhaustion as he made his way to his bedroom, kicking off his shoes. He didn't bother to put his clothes away as he pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it aside. His pants lay in a heap next before he sunk into the mattress, groaning. He felt a calm wash over him for a moment, the promise of sleep lulling him into relaxing.
And then it hit him.
His bed smelled like you. It was like you'd soaked your perfume in it, and it invaded his senses, stuck to his thoughts of sleep until it overwhelmed him. Every emotion that he'd been swallowing down surged to the surface, and he couldn't fight back the sting of tears.
He turned to his side, face buried in the pillows that had caused his breakdown, and gripped them so tight that his knuckles ached. How did this happen? How could he let this happen?
What would have happened if he'd stayed? If he'd never become a Warrior at all? Would he have been able to keep you? Would you have even wanted him then?
This house was supposed to be home, but there was no warmth without you. It was just another four walls.
He clenched his jaw shut at the thought, afraid that if he opened his mouth, he'd never be able to stop the pain that was begging to be let out of his chest.
Tears soaked the pillow beneath his cheek as his mind plagued him with what-ifs, and when he did finally drift off, he dreamed of the girl who was supposed to be asleep next to him.

THE THOUGHT OF REINER BEING FATHER JUST DOES SOMETHING TO ME I- AJHSJS
THANK YOU SM FOR REQUESTING, ANON!! LET'S GET CAUGHT UP IN THE REINER BRAINROT TOGETHER <3
═════════°∴,*⋅✲══〖✰〗══✲⋅*,∴°═════════
—DAD REINER!
(MODERN AU + MENTIONS OF PREGNANCY + FEMALE BODIED READER + FLUFF + SLIGHTLY SUGGESTIVE + REINER BEING THE BEST DAD EVER DUH + TW: SLIGHT LANGUAGE)
═════════°∴,*⋅✲══〖✰〗══✲⋅*,∴°═════════
Dad Reiner who was such a hot mess moments before he became a father to begin with. The pair of you are situated inside a hospital room, occupied with things much bigger than a sprained ankle. He stood alongside you, his beloved, all the while; Encouraging your efforts and attempting to ease your pain with the squeeze of your hand within his bigger one. As fretful as he feels, it's no surprise that Reiner ends up passing out a good few times, and he wasn't even the one in labor. Though, the hard part is now over, and all his worry has subsided.
Dad Reiner who recalls whimpering, weakly grinning, and eventually bawling of joy when holding his child for the first time. You'd never seen his cries mingled with such joy before. He cradles yours and his newborn within firm forearms and large, mindful hands. The pair of you sob and smile, ogle your baby with a relieved, content thrum in your heart. You allow Reiner to attempt squeezing into the hospital bed beside you, as broad and weighty as he is, with your child being held right between you and him. He’s a hot mess, but an overjoyed one who has you; and little Reiner x [Y/N] junior 🥺
Dad Reiner who converses with you for days before ultimately deciding on a name for yours and his daughter— Joyce Braun. He contemplated on “Karina”, the name of his dear mother. Though, he wants his little girl to be better than any past generation, and rather goes with a more revitalizing name, one that holds a simple, but deep meaning in his perspective. As obvious as it sounds, the name means “Joyful”. That's all he wants; for his kid to be happy in this life, happier than he ever was. Therefore, he bases her name, the root of his dear child’s identity, on cheerfulness.
Dad Reiner who tends to grow somewhat frustrated. Not with you of course, not even with Joyce’s incessant wailing in the early hours of the morning, but with himself. It wasn't as though he did anything wrong, he simply hopes that he won't. Begs himself not to fuck up with this whole “Parent” thing. If it wasn’t clear enough, Reiner wants to be nothing like his own father. He’ll never, ever shoo his child away and disregard them, but instead use those same hands to hold, guide, and lift them up. It doesn't take long for the blonde to snap out of his funk, because he's sure that he can become all the better for the sake of his little family.
Dad Reiner who wakes to your still, ethereal-like form every morning, and it's enough to make his day. A kiss to your neck, a nibble along your earlobe, and a couple repetitive rubs to your waist and thighs are enough to stir you right awake. And if that isn't the case, then it's usually the other way around; You pressing soft, lengthy kisses to his sharp, attractive cheekbones. Despite who arises first, there’s always one thing that's bound to happen— Joyce making her arrival into the bedroom via crawl, with a babble and a cute, happy little shriek upon seeing her parents.
The pair of you have no clue as to how she manages to make her way over to your room every time, but you're simply glad that she does so safely. It's Reiner’s cue to leap out of bed and scoop her off of the carpet and into his awaiting arms, clad in nothing but a white tee and the baggiest sweats. He appears disheveled, but it's still clear to see the main striking similarity between him and his pretty little daughter; Those amber brown eyes that hold the same warm, yellowish hue as his do.
He rocks the giggling one-year old, back and forth and right back again, gazing upon his squirming bundle of joy until you mention that he’s been doing so for a whole ten minutes. He grows sheepish and merely chuckles in reply, resting Joyce’s head upon his firm chest with a sigh. He could do this for ten hours more if it were up to him.
Dad Reiner who knocked you up a couple more times, and real damn good at that. There’s something of a breeding fetish that he’s got on him, which is the reason why your little family is now two kids larger. There’s Joyce, who’s now seven years old, along with her two baby brothers, the pair being a mere one year apart from the other. You and Reiner no longer have to worry about checking on Joyce in her crib, for she sleeps on her own bed now, like the “big girl” she claims to be.
Though, the boys now have you both occupied, and you’re lucky to have an older daughter who’s so understanding and rarely ever  grows jealous. Joyce, your girl who’s on more of the rambunctious side but ironically never pleads for attention, has been spending much more quality time with Reiner. Both you and him are busy with the boys, but the blonde tends to have free time on his hands every now and then. Besides, someone’s got to keep Joyce company.
Reiner happily obliges, and makes this father-daughter time worthwhile. Wholesome picnics to the park that always end in races back to the car and Reiner being a damned klutz and dropping his sandwich. Having a “spa day”, filled with Reiner’s not-so-great attempts at doing his girl’s hair, messy manicures and a hefty bag of makeup that Joyce “borrowed” from you. He spoils the girl as if the lot of you are rich (and since Reiner’s always got a hefty load of spare cash, you technically are), but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dad Reiner who’s a lot more used to this “dad” thing now, since it’s been a couple good years down the line. You and him have amazing bonds with each of your kids, but they seem to latch onto Reiner’s large, broad body at any given time a lot more than they do you. Joyce is twelve, the brothers are five and six, and Reiner’s officially a DILF— The finest one at that. His stubble stays nicely trimmed, along with the subtle creases at his eyes becoming a little more distinctive. Goes to work, and sometimes takes the kid’s lunches instead of his own, because that's just the Reiner Way.
He’s the ultimate father in practically every situation, even when looking out for peers and comrades. He doesn’t mean to, it’s just that habits easily stick with Reiner, and it’s rather difficult for him to let them go. Besides, with three kids, how do you expect him to not be in “dad mode”?
Dad Reiner who utterly loves having random little talks with his kids, and never invalidates them, not for one second. It’s almost as though he can see things in their perspective, and they don’t know anyone else better to vent to other than their dad and mom. Though, when they tend to babble on about something that’s rather popular within their generation, it gets hard for him to catch up. They proceed to call him “old” and receive a good chase around the house before they get caught and looped into a tickle attack, and that's basically the worst thing imaginable if you’re in the Braun family. The reason being is Reiner’s unparalleled speed, despite his age; Thirties to early forties, but he’s still extremely fit, and has no problem running a mile if he has to.
Dad Reiner who’s in love with his family and the person they’ve gradually helped him become. You cherish him and your kids like none other, and he does the same. Sometimes it abruptly dawns on him; He’s a dad, and he’s actually a good one, who would’ve known? He smiles to himself, allowing his amber eyes to flit over to wherever you are before his soft grin grows wider. You look back, blow a kiss, and he does the same. The action is exchanged before he strides over to give you the real deal— Though, your sweet little peck is all cut short when Joyce and the boys skip in and start making kissy noises, with you and Reiner laughing all the while.
═════════°∴,*⋅✲══〖✰〗══✲⋅*,∴°═════════
“Papa,” Gale, the youngest son of the bunch, calls aloud and gains his father’s attention. Reiner peers up from his book and gives a brief, questioning response. “Yes, dove?” It’s a simple, sweet nickname; One that he calls you, Joyce, and the boys.
“Mommy’s in the bathroom crying.” The blonde drops his novel with an punctuating hitch of his breath, the book falling upon the couch with a dull thump. “—Why? Is she alright?” Reiner, the man who generally keeps himself rather poised, is now frantic, sharp brows downturned at his son's statement.
“Uh, I dunno. She’s crying, but smiling too.” This then causes Reiner’s brows to furrow. “Smiling, you say?”
“Yeah. Can we go out to get ice cream today? I wanna get, uh.. Chocolate chip, please!”
Reiner lets a brief laugh slip loose at Gale’s query, but he has to prioritize his wife over a summertime snack. He then begins to make a beeline towards the bathroom, in search of you. “Soon enough, dove. I’ve got to go up there and check on your momma first, alright—?”
Gale then shrugs and hops onto the couch, little feet padding along the spacey seat as the leather creases underneath his weight.
“By the way, Papa,” Reiner then pauses, open to any vital information his son could give, “she has this funny stick thingy in her hand. It’s got two little lines on it and stuff.”
Reiner chokes on his breath, lower lip beginning to tremble and quirk into a smile. If the case is what he thinks it is, he’s got all the reason to bust out with the teary eyes and jovial whimpers, just as he did when receiving the news of his three expected children in the past.
“A stick..?”
“Mhm,” hums Gale, proceeding to jump upon the dark brown couch, “Mama probably wants some chocolate chip ice cream too.”

my baby | reiner braun
Tumblr media
warnings: angst (??) w/ happy ending, sorta fluffy at the end, hurt/comfort, references to alcohol.
pairings: reiner braun x fem!reader
word count: 3.2k
synopsis: reiner finally returns back home and all seems well. but is it actually?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it has been months since you got to see reiner and maybe even years since you got to see him for more than a few days a time, you hadn't realised how much you missed him until you were shuffling through groups of people who waited for their family members, just to get to the front so you could see him as soon as he got off the train.
so much time has passed since he was given the armored titan and sent on a mission across the sea, you guys never really had the chance to have a concrete conversion about what happened on paradis, but it was obvious that reiner avoided the subject so you didn’t push on it too much.
you always got self conscious about if his feelings for you still remained when he’d disappear for weeks at a time, but your high hopes persisted for your relationship regardless as you waited behind the gate for reiner to come through.
with his mother, karina standing next to you, your heart felt like it could pound through your chest at any given second.
i wonder if he’s gotten bigger,
i wonder if he’s grown a beard by now,
i wonder-
“reiner!” you heard his mom yell from your side, which immediately snapped you from your thoughts.
“r...reiner?” you looked at him, he looked different but still the same old reiner nonetheless.
he’d grown so big, and had stubble growing across his cheeks. you never smiled so big when you saw someone.
fuck, you really missed him so much. your mind couldn't help but ponder off to the next time he’d be requested to leave for another mission. it broke your heart. he only had a few years left, and in your head, those years are yours. they belong to you, you both earned this.
is that selfish of me? you thought, chewing on your bottom lip.
no. you reassured yourself. i am not selfish.
“y/n? i missed you so fucking much, god.” he rushed over and wrapped his around your waist, engulfing you into his warmness. his familiar scent of cigarettes (you had zeke to thank for that) and cologne quickly filled your nostrils. you only hugged him tighter which caused him to chuckle.
you’d forgotten that you cut about three inches off of your hair until reiner commented on it.
“did you do something new to your hair?” he whispered, shutting his eyes as he hugged you tighter. “you’re so pretty.”
your cheeks grew with a fiery feeling as he released you from his grasp and laid his hand on your cheek, running his thumb across every feature of your face which caused you to laugh.
reiner greeted the rest of his family, keeping his arm around you the entire time.
“let’s go home,” you said after he finished greeting his family, taking his hand into yours and leading him back home. “you need to rest.”
reiner always assured you that when he got back from his big mission, he would come and live with you, and he upheld that deal. you guys were so young, and it seemed like only a silly reality. but now, it had become real.
once reiner initially arrived back from paradis, you two moved rather quickly to pick a home before he had to leave again to aid the warriors in another mission.
the house was perfect for the two of you, and a family as well, if you and reiner ever decided you wanted to take that step.
you, so badly wanted to take that step. but reiner on the other hand never spoke about it, so neither did you.
nevertheless, the house seemed so tiny, even tinier when you were there alone.
you always insisted on decorating the house whenever reiner came back. it was your ultimate goal to make him feel wanted and welcomed.
he needed that reassurance, and you were more than happy to provide it.
“so.. do ya’ like it? i know it’s small and…” you trailed off as you both made your way into the house, seeing a banner and a few balloons spread across the dining room.
“what? no, it’s great, baby. as long as i get to come back to you, everything is great.” he cracked a smile as he shut the door and pressed a quick kiss to your forehead.
“i can’t believe you still like me after all this time, or wanna be with me even. it’s crazy, really,”
the mutual crush between you and reiner began when you both were nine. reiner was training to be a warrior and you, well, you liked to watch.
you’d sneak to their practices and watch reiner do all of the drills and after, he’d confront you on your innocent stalking.
from then, the rest was history. you grew close with the other warriors, always having their favorite baked treats on hand when they had a hard day of training.
bertholdt was the one to make you confess your feelings to reiner once it was for certain that he was inheriting the amour titan and that they’d be traveling to paradis.
you missed bertholdt. so badly.
him, reiner, you and annie were inseparable. always being spotted together.
your heart broke badly when you found out they’d be inheriting titans, because from then, a timer would always be clocking down.
thirteen years.
“i only have a few years left, i don’t know who i’d rather spend it with,”
that.
that made your stomach churn in all different kinds of ways. he only had a few years left before he’d be gone forever.
you wished that he never got the armored titan, even back then you’d pray and pray that porco would get it instead of reiner.
selfishly of course.
“we never talked about this but, um, how were things… in paradis…?” you chewed on your bottom lip, your eyes carrying their gaze from the counter up to his eyes.
“interesting to say the least,” he sighed, shaking his head. “i’m going to go freshen up and then we can go to a bar, okay?”
“uh, yeah, about that, your family wants us over for dinner.” you looked at him and smiled slightly. “your mom made something for you and gabi,”
reiner and gabi’s relationship always made you smile. it’s what stemmed your wanting to have kids with reiner in the first place. he’d do anything for gabi.
“oh yeah, okay,” he nodded with a smile, kissing your head before walking into the bathroom to shower.
what the fuck does he mean by interesting? and what the hell happened on that island?
you brushed it off and walked into your bedroom and begun to brush your hair in order to flatten the stubborn flyaways that came up since you did your hair this morning.
reiner came out of the bathroom within a few minutes and had a towel wrapped around his waist, droplets of water still covering his torso.
your cheeks quickly heated up as you got up quickly, even though you’d been with reiner for years, and even seen him naked multiple times, you still got flustered at the sight of him.
“uh, i’m gonna go uh, help you mom prepare dinner,” you walked out of the room before he replied. “meet me there in ten.”
it always shocked you how it wasn’t awkward between you both and everything just went back to normal so quickly.
you hoped to be married to him soon, have a few children and live in this house with him until his years were over.
you hoped.
you grabbed your jacket and bag and began walking towards the braun house. reiner’s mom made sure that when you two picked a place, that it was close.
you knocked on the door twice before it was opened by a small brown haired girl with gleaming brown eyes.
“gabi!” you grinned and leaned down to hug her. “i heard about what you did, it’s very impressive,” your fingers smoothed her hair back as you looked down at her.
“y/n! thank you!” she giggled before taking your hand and leading you into the house. “where’s reiner?” she peaked behind you before squinting her eyebrows.
“oh he’s just getting dressed, he’s gonna meet me here,” you replied as you step into the dining room of the house. “i wanted to come a bit early and help.”
you started by placing the plates and utensils on the tables for all the guests, then you helped karina make a pitcher of tea and by then dinner was ready.
you all sat at the table as karina and reiner’s aunt placed the few dishes of food onto the table.
“where’s reiner y/n?” reiners uncle asked as he began to cut into his food.
you did the same and began cutting into your food, answering before taking a bite.
“i dunno, he said that we would meet me here,” you took a bite of food and swallowed. “perhaps he fell asleep or something? i’m sure he’ll be here soon.”
everyone at the table nodded and with that, gabi began retelling her story about what happened on the battle field.
she was an impressive warrior candidate, and that’s saying the least. but you didn’t want gabi to inherit the armored titan, because similarly to reiner, you didn’t want her to have a short life.
but gabi seemed so happy, and it sickened you to your stomach. marley is poisoning these kids to want to be tools of war. it made you even sicker how every eldian parent thought this was normal, not even normal, they thought it was a prize of some sort.
it wasn't.
as gabi kept talking, no one realized how much time was passing. by the time she was done telling her story, everyone was finished with their dishes and the pitcher of tea was empty.
“i don’t know why reiner didn’t show,” you said, shaking your head to yourself as you began to help gabi clear the plates off of the table.
it isn’t like him to skip out on family dinner the day he gets back.
“he’s probably just exhausted,” the small girl shrugged as you both headed towards the sink.
“i think you’re right,” you smiled down at her, ruffling her hair as the dishes made a clinking noise in the sink.
you put on your coat and grabbed your bag.
“i’ll let reiner know that you guys missed him,” you said to everyone, earning a mix of goodbyes before walking out of the house and onto the windy street.
your shoes clicked against the sidewalk as you walked the few minutes it took you to get back to your home.
god, these things were killing your feet.
“reiner!” you yelled as soon as got through the front door. “why the hell didn’t you come to dinner?”
you looked well throughout the house and he was nowhere to be found, he wasn’t at home.
well then, where hell was he?
“fuck, reiner.” you sighed and put back on your jacket before heading out of your house once again.
you suspected him to be at the bar since he mentioned it earlier. it was either that or a damn emergency happened and he was with the other warriors.
you hoped it was the second one. because why else would he pass up dinner with his family on his first night back?
it took about fifteen minutes for you to reach the bar nearest to your home. by the time you got there you were shivering and your feet and hands were freezing.
as you walked into the bar you were greeted by the workers, you nodded in their direction and gave them a small smile in reply.
your eyes glazed around the room for the tall blonde, it didn’t take long for you to spot him sitting on one of the stools at the bar, downing another glass of brown liquid before requesting another.
you walked over to him and placed your hand on his shoulder. “reiner,” you say sternly. “i’m glad you’re okay but why didn’t you sho-”
“y/n! my girls here, everyone!” he grinned as his words slurred, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and squeezing tightly.
he’s definitely had one too many.
a few other drunk people cheered and he smiled at you before pressing a wet kiss to your cheek.
gross, reiner. you cringed slightly at the feeling of his wet lips against your cheek.
“reiner,” your voice was soft as you gently moved yourself out of his grip and sat in the stool next to him, frowning slightly at this sight of him. “can i have a water with no ice, please?”
“what?” he asked with a chuckle as he began to pick up his next glass of brown liquid which you quickly took from him and replaced it with the water you asked for.
“you didn’t come to dinner. everyone was so excited to see you.” you sat the glass down on the counter, trailing your finger around the cold rim before you made eye contact with him, sighing softly as you gestured for him to take a sip of water.
“oh fuck me,” he chuckled deeply, pushing the water slightly to the side. “it would’ve just been depressing, all they wanna know is how my time on the island was. i would rather die than think about anything that happened on that island ever again,”
what?
he’s never said anything like that before. but then again, you guys never made time to properly talk about everything.
and now, you felt horrible because of that.
you didn’t know what your boyfriend was feeling, which seemed to be a lot. yet, you were left completely in the dark.
but, that’s your fault for not inquiring sooner.
you shook your head.
no.
but everything that you just thought was completely true.
your eyes widened and you felt like ten pounds of weights were suddenly attached to your heart. it hurt that he would even talk about himself like that.
your eyes grew slightly watery, as you looked at him. in this light, this sight of him looked so different, he looked… unhappy, maybe? you didn’t know.
he was ruff, so jagged with scratches placed across his chin, bags under his eyes, his hair stuck up in different directions and the stubble growing across his cheeks that looked so handsome to you earlier just added to the look.
he looked tired.
but tired of what?
“let’s go home,” you said softly gently taking his hand after placing some money on the counter to pay for whatever reiner had been drinking.
“you asked me about paradis earlier,” he started.
“reiner,”
this isn’t the time or place. why now reiner? god.
“no let me talk, y/n.” his eyes met yours, they were filled with hurt and anger. the water that clouded his eyes could pour out any second but it refused to even trickle slightly.
you let him talk, even if it was in the middle of a halfway busy bar and the pair of you were gaining looks by the minute.
“everything that happened on that island was so shit,” he chuckled sadly. “did you notice how i was when bertholdt didn’t come back? i couldn’t even save annie.”
“reiner, i…”
“bertholdt is dead and who the hell knows what’s happening to annie right now! i failed them y/n! bertholdt died because of me!” he yelled and a tear finally trickled from his eye.
you guys were gaining the attention of people by the second now.
“i doubt that’s true, reiner.” you clenched your jaw.
reiner recognized that as a lie, but you didn't.
“no it is true, i’m a monster, y/n! i killed so many people! i killed my comrades! they didn’t know any better!” he stood up and tears just kept coming from then.
a tear fell down your cheek and you wiped it quickly. “reiner, please just let’s go home we can talk about this there,” you took both of his tense fists into your small hands and your thumbs crossed over his calloused knuckles a few times.
“y’know… even since we were kids, i always thought you were the most beautiful girl i’d ever seen,” he whispered, now cupping your face and looking down at you.
“and that always kept me going but i don’t know if i…” his voice cracked and he finally noticed the immense hurt on your face.
his heart dropped. he thought he lost you. causing a stupid scene in the middle of a bar, what the hell was he thinking?
“please,” your voice still somehow remained soft, your lips even ever so slightly curving up into a smile. “let’s just go home, okay?”
he silently agreed, ushering you both out of the bar as the pair of you gained looks from the others in the bar.
the walk back home was silent, but he still persisted to hold your hand the whole way back home.
you unlocked the door and reiner went straight to the bedroom but you stopped in the kitchen to fill up a glass of water for him.
as you walked into the bedroom you saw reiner sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at his lap.
you sat the glasser on the dress and walked over to him, rubbing his back as he wrapped his arms around your waist. unexpectedly, reiner began to quietly sob into your torso.
“you’re not a monster, okay? you were so young, you didn’t know any better. it’s not your fault.” you said quietly, kissing his head.
he brought you onto his lap and you wiped the last few tears that dropped.
“i’m sorry,” he whispered. “i wish i never inherited that stupid titan, i should’ve been here with you. i should be able to live a long life with the girl i love. i earned that much, right?”
a tear fell down your cheek, now knowing that you both shared the same regret of him inheriting the titan and learning the new information that he would’ve wanted to live a long life with you.
“yes, yes you did.”
you wrapped your arms around him tightly. “none of this is your fault, i promise. no one blames you, you were just a kid.”
he nodded in response, looking down at you.
“if anything it’s marley’s fault for putting such hard expectations on children.” you reassured him once again, pressing a longing kissing his temple.
he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours, his hands on your waist as he kissed you gently.
you kissed him back, draping your arms loosely around his neck. your stomach piled with butterflies as you felt reiner’s hands travel down your back before he pulled you closer.
your heart was heavy once again, but for a different reason.
you were in love. reiner was all that you yearned for, and he was yours. only yours.
you inhaled his scent indirectly, smiling against his lips as you felt so safe and warm within his arms, with his lips pressed to yours.
for once, you were optimistic about the future. because, well, everything felt so bright and perfect in that moment. you wished you could stop time in this moment and just replay this moment over and over again. you’d never get tired of it. and that way, reiner would never have to leave you again.
you sighed happily.
“i love you,” he whispered against your lips.
you rested your forehead against his and your eyes met his gleaming hazel pupils.
“and i love you, always,”

Missy’s Lesson Plan
Lesson #1 Listen to Her Worries
Tumblr media
pairing: marcus moreno x f!teacher!reader characters: f!reader, marcus word count: 3.6k+ warnings: fluff, awkwardness, bonding, summary: dating is hard; dating after losing a significant other is even harder, but Missy is sure she has a foolproof plan that will help her dad and her teacher finally confess their feelings and get the happily ever after that they deserve! a/n: sorry for the wait! since so many people liked it i wanted to make sure everything about this chapter was decent to post, so ya’ll have @forevans to thank or else this would’ve been stuck in limbo for a long time lol--also, im about to dub reader and marcus the thank-you-couple lmfao--you’ll see why
Tumblr media
There are three things you are absolutely sure about in your life.
1. Your name. 2. You love your family. And 3. Missy Moreno is your favorite student.
“Turns out she was just testing us!” She moves around your classroom, picking up scraps of paper and throwing them into the black, durable trash bag she’s hauling around with her, recounting her heroic tale of saving her dad and the other Heroics with her new super powered friends. “A transfer of power or something. Can you believe it?”
Yes and no.
Your heart had literally jumped out of your throat and blood turned cold when Missy was plucked from school during recess—“taken somewhere safer,” the principal had informed you after you stormed into her office wanting to know where your student was and why you weren’t informed.
School was released an hour after that, a way to prepare citizens for the inevitable destruction the Heroics tend to cause in the heavily, populated metropolitan areas, and after making sure every single one of your students had been picked up by a family member, you hurriedly headed home.
You had sat yourself down in front of the television with your mom, worried for Mr. Moreno and the rest of the Heroics (more so for Missy’s dad), feeling completely and utterly helpless.
It only got worse when agents suited in black and white showed up at your doorstep, demanding to know where Missy Moreno and the other super powered children were hiding.
“You lost them?” You had balked—your worry rising to new heights—first Mr. Moreno and now Missy? You didn’t know what to do other than demand how a bunch of agents could have lost a group of untrained children during an alien invasion!
None of them answered you, remaining stoic, and if it weren’t for your mom, you would’ve pounced and clawed the closest agent out of desperation.
The agents only left after turning your house upside down in their search for the children.
And then, after hours of waiting, the news showed the Heroics, Anita Moreno, and the children landing in front of the White House, safe and sound. You almost cried from relief in your mother’s arms.
So, no, you can’t believe it; but seeing her here, this special girl, that has somehow worked her way into your heart from the moment she walked into your life, safe and sound in your classroom, you do believe it.
But you can’t tell Missy all of that when she’s practically bouncing on the heels of her feet, beaming up at you every few seconds to watch your reactions to her story. Instead, you widen your eyes for good measure and your mouth hangs open. It’s a little exaggerated, but you really are impressed with Missy—very much worried, but impressed. “Woah! I’m so proud of you!”
Her grin is so bright and proud, it makes you chuckle under your breath, your shoulders finally relaxing at the rare, childlike mirth dancing in her eyes.
“Are you going to write about it for your report?”
She shrugs. “Maybe.”
Now that stops you from sorting through the craft supplies, eyebrow raising in surprise. “Maybe?”
“It’s stupid,” she murmurs, focusing a little too much on one area.
“Missy,” you start, patient, “why do you think it’s stupid?”
“It’s just—” she shuffles on her feet and then sighs heavily, looking up at you with dark eyes full of doubt—“what if no one believes me?”
It takes you no time to close the distance between you. You coax the bag out of her hands and set it down on the floor, motioning for her to sit at the desk she had just been pretending to clean. “Why do you think no one would believe you?”
“Because I don’t have super powers.” Her nose wrinkles, looking away from you and to the whiteboard.
“Missy…”
“I know, I know!” she exasperates, having heard this spiel from you many times before. “It doesn’t matter, it’s never mattered, I get it!” You stare at her incredulously, and she is quick to assure you, leaning forward on the edge of the chair. “I do, really! But I—it would be useful, you know?” She slumps back, finger rubbing at a spot on the table. “Proof, I guess.”
“Powers could always be useful,” you agree with a soft laugh. “But not always necessary.” She still doesn’t look at you, and you sigh softly, a small amused smile forming on your lips. “I know you know some of the most amazing, most brave people are the ones without powers.”
She looks up at you, head tilting and waiting for you to elaborate.
“You once told me that aside from your dad, your mom was your absolute favorite hero, remember that?”
She nods, a smile finally appearing on her cherubic face.
“Don’t underestimate yourself, Missy.” You crouch down to her level. “You not having powers doesn’t mean the rest of the class won’t believe you. They know you’re a leader, they look to you not just because you’re Marcus Moreno’s kid but because they believe in you.”
“I knew it was stupid,” she murmurs bashfully, tanned skin brightening as she huffs and folds her arms over her chest.
“Hey, no, none of that. Having doubts or being scared or even jealous is never stupid. It’s perfectly human,” you assure her, her brown eyes searching yours. “In fact, I sometimes feel that way too!”
“Really?” She drops her arms and her pout softens. “You?”
“Of course! Just because I’m an adult doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes doubt myself or feel a little insecure.”
“Like what?” she asks, dark eyes curious and wide.
“Oof, a lot!” Your eyes roll to the ceiling as you think. “I think… one of my biggest doubts and fears is not being a good enough teacher.”
“What?” She gasps, jumping in her seat and eyes narrowing with scary determination to get you to believe that: “You’re an amazing teacher!”
Warmth fills your chest at the sincerity in her voice and eyes. “See!” You cross your arms over your knees, but Missy takes your hand in hers, and you let her, squeezing her smaller hand in yours. “Sometimes, we don’t see ourselves in the same light as others do, and that’s okay. We just need a little reminder every once in a while.”
“Yeah,” she drawls, playing with one of your fingers, “I guess you’re right.”
“I know I’m right.” You nudge her nose gently with a hooked finger and she wrinkles her nose in response. “And this is my reminder for you today: I truly believe you’re capable of doing extraordinary things, Missy. Powers or no powers.”
She grins, nudging your nose just as you had. “And I truly believe you’re the most amazing teacher ever.”
Yeah. Missy Moreno is definitely your favorite student.
“I know.” You ruffle her hair and she grabs your wrist to push you away, laughing.
A loud thud by the entrance of the class brings you to your feet, spinning in place and firmly placing yourself in front of Missy and the sudden intruder—only to find a sheepish Marcus Moreno mid trip and hand raised sheepishly.
“I—ah—sorry, I was going to knock, but the door was opened—” he says, quickly crouching down to pick up the empty rack you set up for the kids to place their backpacks and lunch on. “Sorry.”
Missy lets out an exasperated, “Dad!” while your form relaxes (replaced by a new tension squeezing your chest).
Clearing his throat, he straightens up, raising a hand in greeting and an apology. “Sorry,” he murmurs again.
“It’s fine, Mr. Moreno.” You offer him a warm smile, ignoring the little butterflies in your tummy. Turning to Missy, you catch a very much exasperated eye roll that only makes you stifle your laughter behind your hand. “Come on, Missy, get your things.”
She eyes her dad for a moment longer before nodding and hurrying to her table shared with Karina at the front of the classroom, a table away from your desk.
“Thanks for letting Missy stay.” He scratches the back of his head, his other hand resting on his hip as he shifts his weight. “Paperwork took me longer than I would have liked.”
“A hero’s work is never done, huh?” you joke, keeping your voice light.
He cracks a charming smile, the one that always seems to melt your insides into a pile of goo. “Unfortunately.”
Your eyes move to Missy, who is slowly putting her things away, organizing them and reorganizing. Her head tilts slightly when the conversation between you and Marcus pauses, dark eyes trying to inconspicuously look over her shoulder to get a glimpse of you and her father. Her eyes catch yours and widen in surprise before she snaps her head forward, pretending to be busy but not hurrying her movements, either—much to your amusement. What is she doing?
Shaking your head and returning your gaze to Marcus, you’re met by brown eyes full of exasperated fondness, an apologetic smile on his handsome features.
“I heard about what happened,” he suddenly says. “About some of our agents raiding your home.”
“Oh!” You blink owlishly, embarrassment crawling under your skin—what else did he know? “You heard about that?”
“Read about it in the report, actually.” He tilts his head, scratching the stubble on his cheek, and you press your lips together to keep from questioning what else he read in case they didn’t add the part about you losing your cool. “I have agents on their way to help clean up any mess they might’ve made and to replace anything they might’ve broken.”
This man is truly a god sent, isn’t he? “Mr. Moreno, I appreciate it, thank you. You didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to,” he assures you, firm and kind. “It’s our fault you got caught in the cross hairs.” His eyes fall away from yours, and again, he shifts his weight on his feet as he pushes his glasses back up over the bridge of his nose.
You wait for a moment, but when he doesn’t look back up at you, you let out a little defeated sigh, disappointed that the conversation is over. Not that you want to keep talking about agents ruining your home, but you like listening to Mr. Moreno speak. He has the softest, most reassuring voice that makes you feel safe in his presence; like he trusts you.
“Well, again, thank you,” you start as you make your way over to the plastic bin full of craft supplies on your desk and are about to take them to the closet you store them in when warm fingers brush against yours, taking the box from your hands. “Oh!”
“Let me help you with that,” he says, soft and rich, warm eyes full of kindness staring into yours.
“Thank you,” you murmur—and he’s close, not like when he was sitting across from you as you introduced yourself to him and showed him the first progress report of the year, but close enough that you can see the glints of black and umber in his eyes, tips of his shoes barely touching yours, and a small box keeping your chests from brushing against each other.
“It’s no trouble. Least I could do.” He flashes another smile, and again, your heart melts and you have to physically keep yourself from biting your lips by swiping your twitching fingers over your mouth, eyes darting away from him.
Clearing your throat, you say, “Let me show you where I need them.”
He nods and follows after you, keeping a fair distance even after you point at the empty space the bin was in earlier that day.
“Thank you,” you say—again! all you do is thank the man!—as he puts away the bin and closes the closet doors for you.
“Of course.”
“Okay, I’m finally ready!” Missy announces, a little too loud for it to not to be intentional.
“We should start heading out, then.” His hand settles on Missy’s head, steering her towards the door. “Again, thank you for letting Missy stay—really saved me.”
“It was no trouble at all.” You wave him away, following after them to walk them out.
“That was painful to watch,” you swear you hear her whisper to her dad, and he shushes her.
Did you imagine it?
“Ah, actually, Mr. Moreno, may I speak to you for a moment?”
“Of course!” He pats Missy’s shoulder. “Go on ahead, I’ll meet you down the hall.”
She narrows her eyes at him, as if trying to communicate something to him before nodding and walking off. “See you Monday, teach!”
“Bye, Missy! Have a good weekend!” You wait until she’s completely out of ear shot, or at least on the other side of the hall to address your worries to Mr. Moreno. “Missy told me about what happened on that spaceship and I—I’m worried. I know what Missy is capable of, trust me, I know. She’s—extraordinary. A good kid.” You bite your lip, wrapping your cardigan tighter around your frame, the cold wind brushing against your exposed skin. “But I—I can’t help but worry either way. I know it’s not my place—”
“No, no!” He steps forward and a little to the side, blocking the wind from hitting you. “Thank you for caring so much about Missy. I—I always feel grateful knowing you care about her and that she’s in capable hands at school.”
You release a breath you didn’t know you had been holding, a huge weight off your shoulder now that you know you’re not stepping on his toes.
“I’m worried too, if I’m being honest.” His eyes slide to Missy waiting for him at the end of the hall where she’s rocking on her feet, and you follow his gaze, both of you smiling when she glances up and waves. “She’s headstrong. Once her mind is made up, you can’t stop her.” He chuckles, the sound low and a little self-deprecating.
“I would never ask you to change her mind,” you affirm gently. “All I ask, is that you look after her—not that you don’t already do, because I know you do, but it’s… different out there.”
He nods resolutely. “I promise.”
“You need to stay safe out there, too, Mr. Moreno. I can’t keep having two heart attacks in one day,” you tease, leaning against the metal doorframe.
“I promise you, we’ll stay safe,” he says it so seriously, eyes locked on yours that it practically steals your breath away. “Missy and I—we’ll protect each other.”
“Like you always do,” you hum into the space between you.
“Like we always do,” he reaffirms, just as soft.
“Good.” You stare at one another for a beat longer than necessary, but you look away first, straightening up. “Have a good evening, Mr. Moreno. Drive safe.”
“You too.”
You watch him walk away, waving each time he looks back until he reaches Missy. They wrap an arm around each other and with one final wave, they disappear into the stairwell.
Smiling, you head back inside to get your things.
Tumblr media
“So,” Missy starts as they climb down the stairs, “did you ask?”
“No.” He sighs, bracing himself for the ten year old judgement (he can’t wait to see what her pre-teen and teenage judgement looks like, probably even more brutal).
“What?” She pulls away from him as they reach the final step. “No? What do you mean ‘no’? That was the perfect timing!”
He knows it was perfect timing! There were many perfect moments that he could’ve asked if you were doing anything this Saturday, but no! He just had to get distracted by the curves of your lashes and the way your eyes glinted under the setting sun and how your nose wrinkled when the cold air kissed your nose and—“Next time.”
“A deal is a deal, dad!” She reminds him, staring up at him with those eyes that used to remind him so much of her mother, but now they’re becoming less and less like hers and more her own. “You said you would!”
“I know, I know,” he whines in mock defeat. “I just… what if she doesn’t like me?” It’s a legitimate worry, one that has only grown since Missy started encouraging him to ask you out.
“Seriously, dad?” Her hand connects with her forehead. “It’s so obvious! And besides, how will you ever know if you don’t ask?”
“I guess you’re right. Any ideas?”
She cups her chin, thinking. Her eyes brighten. “I do have a plan!”
“And what exactly is this plan?” he asks, a little wary of what his precocious ten year old could possibly come up with.
“Just trust me!” She grins up at him and wraps her arm around his waist, tugging him along with her towards the car. “With my plan we’ll win her over completely!”

https://ww7.readsnk.com/chapter/shingeki-no-kyojin-spoilers-raw-chapter-139/
Eren pulls Armin into paths and shows him memories to explain things (Zekken doesn't say what).
They have a fist fight by the water, Armin wins, they fall down looking at the water and hug before saying goodbye.
Armin wakes up and runs over to the crying Mikasa.
Pure titans return to humans, everyone is okay.
Reiner hugs Karina (Zekken says mom and son hug but its obvious who).
Levi sees the dead scouts and Hange (she's singled out so probably in front?).
Jean and Connie see Sasha smiling at them. Armin dealt with the final problem (Zekken's words, not mine).
Mikasa takes the head and starts heading somewhere (the fort I guess).
DETAILS:
Eren wakes up in the Paths and meets Ymir. Ymir and Eren have a debate about whether or not humanity deserves to survive. Eren says that even if the world can be cruel, his friends prove the goodness of humanity in impossible odds, which enrages Ymir, and she wraps him up in chains before striking him with a bolt of lightning. Ymir suddenly collapses, unconscious.
Armin enters the Paths again and confronts Eren at a riverbank.
Armin and Eren have a fistfight, which Armin wins, pushing Eren into the water.
Eren tells Armin that the only way to win is to kill him, and hands him a knife.
Armin refuses to kill Eren and embraces him instead.
Eren takes Armin to paths.
Seeing previous events and continuing the conversation with a looking at the sea Armin hits Eren.
After the scene changes, Armin hugs Eren and sits down for a final goodbye.
Armin wakes up and sees Mikasa.
Titans have changed back to the way they were, everyone is fine.
Levi saw the commander HanJi and others in paths.
Jean and Connie saw Sasha smiling in paths.
Reiner, mother and son embrace Armin to deal with the endgame.
Mikasa takes the lead .
A few years later.
The queen celebrated her birthday with the man behind her, holding the child.
The others also grow up and take a boat far away to Lena also sat.
In the distance adults Gabi and Falco with the captain in the wheelchair.
The birds in the sky flew by.
The people on the boat also saw U I do not know where.
Rimikasha under the tree next to the small graves.
The bird came and pecked Mikasha's scarf and went away on its wings.
My thoughts:
No mention on EH conversation from chapter 130?
No mention of the centipede (coordinate) died?
If the pure titans are turned back into humans that means the curse of Ymir broken and if that happens how exactly will Armin and the other's return back to paradis island?
No mention on Yelena and Kiyomi?
A few year's later? Historia's child would turn 2-3 year's old!
No Tatakae (fight) moment!
In 2018 Isayama did a interview about the final panel teaser regarding on the character holding the child while saying: you are free will surpass the(ir) father so who's holding the child (from Historia) if Eren's dead? The (unknown) farmer?
Didn't Armin say goodbye to Eren in chapter 137? And where did Eren get the knife from?
Why didn't Eren being Mikasa along into the paths with Armin as they visited the ocean together back in chapter 90 (season 3 part 2)?
How is it possible for Levi Jean and Connie to see the scouts if their not dead? When Hanji died in chapter 132 she saw Erwin and everyone who died!
At the end of chapter 123 Eren firmly stated when he activated the rumbling that all the lives in Marley will be eliminated from the world and the entire chapter between 130-131 proved it until he fell asleep for unknown reasons?
Didn't Eren say to the Alliance he won't stop the rumbling and won't gamble paradis future in chapter 133?
Why would Eren and Ymir (the founder) fight? I thought they were working together?
No mention of Historia's child name?
The child has Eren Jaeger's eyebrows and bits of his features in the final panel teaser.
Tumblr media
Please help me out here!
Well you are right and that’s precisely why I don’t believe at all in those leaks. The chapter is pure air and random scenes of everyone’s ever after.
Ymir is not here.
Historia is doing a baby shower. Her child and the pregnancy plot is irrelevant and even wastes the « surpass your parents » plot.
The last panel isn’t their: « You are free »
If it’s not Eren it’s the farmer ? « You are free from pesticides my child, I invested in natural vegetables »
Ymir intentions are not here.
The issue of the battle with titans and the centipede isn’t presented either.
The conflict between Marleyans and Eldians isn’t resolved.
Eren’s death is pointless.
Eren became a pigeon.
Mikasa keeps the scarf like an horcruxe
Levi became a grandpa.
Mikasa x Pigeon Eren
Let’s wait until april 9th.
If it’s true...then Isayama accidentally made his tea fall on that chapter and didn’t have the time to fix it.

Cee has been trapped on an abandoned island for three years without any recollection of how she arrived, or memories from her life prior. All she knows is that somewhere out there, beyond the horizon, she has a sister named Kay. Determined to find her, Cee devotes her days to building a boat from junk parts scavenged inland, doing everything in her power to survive until the day she gets off the island and reunites with her sister.
In a world apart, 16-year-old STEM prodigy Kasey Mizuhara is also living a life of isolation. The eco-city she calls home is one of eight levitating around the world, built for people who protected the planet―and now need protecting from it. With natural disasters on the rise due to climate change, eco-cities provide clean air, water, and shelter. Their residents, in exchange, must spend at least a third of their time in stasis pods, conducting business virtually whenever possible to reduce their environmental footprint. While Kasey, an introvert and loner, doesn’t mind the lifestyle, her sister Celia hated it. Popular and lovable, Celia much preferred the outside world. But no one could have predicted that Celia would take a boat out to sea, never to return.
Now it’s been three months since Celia’s disappearance, and Kasey has given up hope. Logic says that her sister must be dead. But as the public decries her stance, she starts to second guess herself and decides to retrace Celia’s last steps. Where they’ll lead her, she does not know. Her sister was full of secrets. They Better Call Me Sugar: My Journey from the Hood to the Hardwood by Sugar Rodgers Black Sheep
Growing up in dire poverty in Suffolk, Virginia, Sugar (born Ta’Shauna) Rodgers never imagined that she would become an all-star player in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association). Both of her siblings were in and out of prison throughout much of her childhood and shootings in her neighborhood were commonplace. For Sugar this was just a fact of life.
While academics wasn’t a high priority for Sugar and many of her friends, athletics always played a prominent role. She mastered her three-point shot on a net her brother put up just outside their home, eventually becoming so good that she could hustle local drug dealers out of money in one-on-one contests.
With the love and support of her family and friends, Sugar’s performance on her high school basketball team led to her recruitment by the Georgetown Hoyas, and her eventual draft into the WNBA in 2013 by the Minnesota Lynx (who won the WNBA Finals in Sugar’s first year). The first of her family to attend college, Sugar speaks of her struggles both academically and as an athlete with raw honesty.
Sugar’s road to a successful career as a professional basketball player is fraught with sadness and death–including her mother’s death when she’s fourteen, which leaves Sugar essentially homeless. Throughout it all, Sugar clings to basketball as a way to keep herself focused and sane.
And now Sugar shares her story as a message of hope and inspiration for young girls and boys everywhere, but especially those growing up in economically challenging conditions. Never sugarcoating her life experiences, she delivers a powerful message of discipline, perseverance, and always believing in oneself. — Cover image and summary via Goodreads

Indivisible by Daniel Aleman Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
There is a word Mateo Garcia and his younger sister Sophie have been taught to fear for as long as they can remember: deportation. Over the past few years, however, the fear that their undocumented immigrant parents could be sent back to Mexico has started to fade to the back of their minds. And why wouldn’t it, when their Ma and Pa have been in the United States for so long, they have American-born children, and they’re hard workers and good neighbors?
When two ICE agents come asking for Pa, the Garcia family realizes that the lives they’ve built are about to come crumbling down. And when Mateo returns from school one day to find that his parents have been taken, he’ll have to come to terms with the fact that his family’s worst nightmare has become a reality.
With his Ma and Pa being held in separate detention centers, Mateo must learn how to look after his sister and himself. The choices Mateo makes, and the people he turns to for help, might reunite his family… or tear them apart for good. With his parents’ fate and his own future hanging in the balance, Mateo must figure out who he is and what he is capable of, even as he’s forced to question what it means to be an American teenager in a country that rejects his own mom and dad. — Cover art and summary via Goodreads

Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers
Southampton, 1912: Seventeen-year-old British-Chinese Valora Luck has quit her job and smuggled herself aboard the Titanic with two goals in mind: to reunite with her twin brother Jamie--her only family now that both their parents are dead--and to convince a part-owner of the Ringling Brothers Circus to take the twins on as acrobats. Quick-thinking Val talks her way into opulent firstclass accommodations and finds Jamie with a group of fellow Chinese laborers in third class. But in the rigidly stratified world of the luxury liner, Val's ruse can only last so long, and after two long years apart, it's unclear if Jamie even wants the life Val proposes. Then, one moonless night in the North Atlantic, the unthinkable happens--the supposedly unsinkable ship is dealt a fatal blow--and Val and her companions suddenly find themselves in a race to survive.
Stacey Lee, master of historical fiction, brings a fresh perspective to an infamous tragedy, loosely inspired by the recently uncovered account of six Titanic survivors of Chinese descent.
