Y’know, something I think about a lot in the context of Triple Deluxe and more specifically Sectonia is how both spiders and wasps are some of the most hated, despised creatures on the planet.

People do not like either of these animals. They’re perceived as terrifying, dangerous pests. It’s interesting, because Sectonia effectively went from being one detested type of bug to being another.

I feel like, on paper, there are other types of insects HAL could have chosen that are much more commonly associated with beauty: ladybugs, dragonflies and, of course, butterflies just to name a few.

So why did HAL choose to make her a wasp of all things?

I almost feel like it has to be a commentary on her character. Something about how no matter how she changed herself she was never going to truly be someone she liked or was satisfied with. She could try and she could try to become someone else, but she’d never escape what she was inside: just a gross, unlovable bug.

krtdl deluxe spoilers under cut, specifically for the ending of the magolor epilogue

the fact that the kirby series now has a proper chronological split timeline event is gonna fuck me up for a while lmao

cos like. for all intents and purposes rtdl and rtdl deluxe can have both happened as separate sets of events where the difference doesn't happen until after the story is over

one timeline (wii version of rtdl) has magolor survive the master crown and make amends with kirby and co., and this is the timeline most of the other games follow — from a timeline perspective it's probably something like "magolor builds a small theme park of more challenge stages to make up for betraying his friends (dream collection), this later expands into magoland in the present day (the explicitly-mentioned alt timeline when magoland is first introduced in rtdl deluxe)"

and then the other timeline has magolor go to Turbohell and find himself in the dream kingdom once all is said and done. i highly doubt we'll see any evidence of this timeline existing back with kirby and friends in dreamland as we know it, and if it's ever alluded to again it'll be in another tkc game, but it's like a butterfly effect thing even before magolor kicks it. after all, why else would there be enemies that only exist in one version of the story?

i dunno what point i'm trying to make here (can probably insert a schrodinger's cat joke somewhere around here), it's just super neat to think about

ok so how i've basically been picturing the timeline in my head (post-chloe adoption) (not including episodes from the show unless they're really major for establishing the timeline. also 'cus i don't know how to place miraculous new york and i know that's major for pod because of plans we discussed over pm but we haven't really shared our plans for zoe and i'd rather not confuse everyone too lkndjscvozk):

SUPER DELUXE A TRAVEL TO GALAXY

I was admiring the butterflies for the beautiful wings that will show the universe how pretty they look! Like the same the universe then goes back to theories in the name of BUTTERFLY....

It gives me wings to explore into my vision of watching films in different perspectives. Like for instance: the movie super deluxe is one of the best film i ever gone through.

The director is quite an immensive gem for the nation. He delivered the butterfly effect in simplified term and the Darwin's sexual selection theory is applied here. Also there is other random theories like atomic molecular theory, reception theory, stanley millers theory, gayas theory is hidden inside this beautiful theory....

The combo reflects the butterfly theory quite superb and the film is simply stunning in actors performance.

Weekly EDM Favorites 2023 - Week Eleven

Best of Week Nine: Higher Ground - Koven, Kairos Grove: The title as accurate, because this is such an uplifting song. It’s just so inspiring

This was a really interesting week. On one hand, I had even fewer liked songs than last week, but on the other hand, my favorites are stronger than ever. I didn’t have many options to choose from, but there were some really strong ones. I think half of these are going to end up in my year-end playlist.

Bittersweet Butterflies - Chime: More Chime house, let’s go! This is my favorite single yet off his upcoming album. The sound design is entrancing, the kind of thing that has you hoping the song won’t end, which means its a good thing its six minutes long. And the story-telling is top-notch as well. I can tell the album will have a great narrative, which are under appreciated in albums these days.

Die By My Hand - Sullivan King, Vastive, Left to Suffer: Thrones of Blood is out now, and it’s a mixed bag for me. It sure is heavy, with some of the teariest tearout ever to be torn, but honestly it feels like that's all most tracks have going for them. But this one is cool. It’s heavy, but it's structured in a way that the weight actually hits, instead of just heaviness for its own sake. I wish more producers were like this.

Light - Seth Hills: Seth is great at creating almost ethereal atmospheres, and his sound has shifted ever subtly to compliment this atmosphere, and it’s not a bad change. I was starting to get a bit worried about his sound deteriorating a bit, but here he shows he’s as strong as ever.

A Place They Called Home - Jason Ross: I haven’t heard this style from Jason Ross before, and it is a welcome change. The whole track has an interesting atmosphere, one that feels like nostalgia, but an almost melancholic form of it. The structure reminds me of one of my favorites from last year, Let Go by Andrew Bayer on the same label of Ajunabeats. Both use melodic and non-melodic elements and contrast them, though to different effects.

Reflections - Ian Snow, Kini Solana: Dawn vol. 7 has a few cool ideas, but a lot of it falls flat. But any compilation has at least a few cool tracks. I would say it helped that I was familiar with Ian Snow, but honestly that didn’t help some of the other featured artists. This has a more classic style of dubstep, which I think is still cool when done well. Old-school growls are mixed with uplifting apps and  Solana’s vocals to produce a really cool atmosphere that I can easily see myself returning to frequently.

Stay The Night - Last Heroes, Dyson: This kind of track is irresistible for me. The emotion of melodic dubstep with the drive of house music is a perfect combination. Dyson’s vocals here are one of my favorites so far this year.

To Be Yours - ODESZA (feat. Claud): They’re back again! What are they even doing? TLG Deluxe? Fifth album already? Just random singles for no reason? Who cares honestly. Even with more chill releases, ODESZA still have an effect that just hits right in the emotions. They really are masters of their craft. Claud’s voice is so soothing. I can tell both ODESZA and Claud are great because I can barely relate to what they’re saying, but I feel the emotion as sharply as if I wrote it. So cool.

Prolonged Tobirama content, Senju lore, senju feels, Summary: The Hidden Leaf Village in Naruto's time seems to have forgotten just why the village was founded and have lost their way.  Through a mishap with a hiraishin seal, Tobirama finds himself during Naruto's time and he is having none of this nonsense. His brother may be gone, but he won't stand to have Hashirama's dream trampled so. And if he has to cause a civil war or burn the village down to the ground? Well that depends on how much resistance he meets. All Tobirama does know for certain is that no child will suffer underneath the protection of Konoha and if he has to take them in and care for them himself, then he will.

Hardest of hearts by blackkat Oneshot, Gen, look I really like blackkat’s naruto fic okay, part one of a completed three part series, all three parts are great, Fix its are the best, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Time Travel, Time Travel Fix It, Orochimaru redemption story, the sheer shadenfreude of one baddie fucking over another baddie, in this case Danzo, Obito has a ‘bad guy but not that bad of a guy’ solidarity moment with Orochimaru at the start and I loved it so there’s that, featuring a low key constantly horrified at this turn of events Minato,

Summary: Orochimaru gets one more chance. Just maybe, it will be enough to save him—and the entire world as well.

When the time comes, he returns the favour.

Nukenin by WhisperingDarkness Gen, dimension travel, team seven, team as family, Kakashi actually being a good sensei even when he’s not a sensei at all, possessive kakashi, Team Seven is his team, Kinda Fluffy, Protective Kakashi, the ‘this might as well happen’ adaptability is real, Kakashi adopts team seven and team seven adopts kakashi, even though he’s illegal, 4 chapter fic, marked as complete as author doesn’t plan to continue it, but even taking these chapters as stand alone this fic is great,

Summary:  In the sealed scroll he finds a Bingo Book – his own page marking him as an S-class nukenin with flee-on-sight orders.  “Ok. That is definitely different.”  In his head he blames Naruto – even if his number one unpredictable student had been nowhere near him on this mission. When things go this stupidly impossibly wrong it must somehow be the future Hokage’s fault.

Ear to the Wall by Vodkassassin Ongoing, it’s really really good though! great Kakashi content, Minato is very stressed and I love him, Sickfic, Hurt/Comfort, whump, PTSD’d Kakashi gets to relive his childhood but gets a little bit of a real childhood along the way, ADHD Rin, time travel fix it, look I like what I like and what I like is fix its and time travel apparently, Kakashi adopts Orochimaru before he descends into douchbaggery, Orochimaru Redemption story, everyone is alive,   Summary: The Minato-sensei beams at him, and replies, “Kakashi! I’m glad you’re awake,” and, yup, that’s Minato-sensei’s voice. Kakashi falls back down against the bed, closing his eyes. It’s too short of a way down, and he clenches hands that are too tiny and feeble and not his in dog-print sheets he hasn’t owned for decades.

It all starts with Rin's kidnapping, and her subsequent rescue at the hands of a mysteriously appearing, monstrously strong, murderously violent woman. A woman with cotton candy pink hair. It only devolves from there.

He did not give chase. He did not.)

A Political Perspective by VJ Riddle  / MueraRashaye Ongoing, Possibly (Probably) Discontinued, Teen and Up, Gen, Team 7, training montage deluxe, Konoha is a murder village, Good Teacher! Kakashi, AU, slowly developing into Bamf team 7, Bamf Kakashi, slowly developing into Team as Family, lots of fun ideas, not crack, Minor Spoiler: Zabuza and Haku get x’d before their character development gets its chance to shine in this fic, Sometimes people don’t warn for that in the tags and it can be a dealbreaker in fic for me as I love those two, not a dealbreaker in the case of this fic though! Really good fic so far, kind of verging on dry in places but it always stays fun in the end with lots of interesting elements, I enjoy the character insight from the pov switching, and also how much of a headcase Kakashi is, graphic depictions of violence, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence,

Summary: Hatake Kakashi was a shinobi, and as a shinobi, the only people who could give him orders were his military superiors. The idea that a Council made up of civilians and peers was under the impression they could give him orders...displeased him. Or: He was ordered to pass Team 7. He was fine with that, until they actually passed.

Taylor Swift Album Review: Red (Taylor’s Version)

Taylor Swift’s Red, first released almost 10 years ago, is an album about those in-between states. She writes non-linearly about romantic relationships less at their highest and lowest points and more at the times before something good or bad happens. “Treacherous” sees her embracing the rush preceding the big dive into the deep end, the capital “s” Serious. “Every time I don’t, I almost do,” she sings on “I Almost Do”, where the only real action is going on in her head, the origins of a decision rather than the aftermath of an external conversation. She doesn’t call him back; there’s no butterfly effect. But she expertly shares the inner workings. A boyfriend’s lack of showing up at her birthday party is the end of a relationship on “The Moment I Knew”, yet he knows nothing yet. Swift isn’t the type to detail public flameouts between two people, despite her very public love life. She’s more interested in the thoughts that take us there.

For Red (Taylor’s Version), the second album she has rerecorded in her countereffort to Scooter Braun manipulating his way to owning the masters of her first six studio albums, Swift invites us back into this headspace. She re-contextualizes the album’s themes of pain, heartbreak, and healing and offers additional relics from the time of recording. The 20 songs from the original album’s deluxe edition are lyrically the same and mostly instrumentally similar, save for an electropop version of “Girl At Home” that foreshadows the poppy turns she would take on 1989. Her singing, on the other hand, is noticeably more refined, lower in register on the mournful, “Fade Into You”-esque “Sad Beautiful Tragic” and especially the previously unessential acoustic version of album opener “State of Grace”. Also included on here is a re-record of “Ronan”, a song inspired by the story of a three-year-old who died of neuroblastoma and co-written with the boy’s mother. You can hear a cry under Swift’s breath as she asks, “What if the miracle was even getting one moment with you?” It’s moving, and all the better that the song isn’t any more owned by Braun.

It’s the 9 totally unreleased tracks that contain the best and worst of Red (Taylor’s Version). “Better Man”, given to Little Big Town for their 2017 record The Breaker, is obviously inspired by Swift’s personal life, but in hindsight, that it sounded so authentic as a Little Big Town song speaks to Swfit’s songwriting ability. “Babe” impresses, too--co-written with Train’s Pat Monahan and given to Sugarland, it’s a lyrically devastating, instrumentally lively breakup song with swirls of saxophone above images of infidelity running throughout Swift’s mind. “Nothing New”, an orchestral song about aging in a sexist society, is bolstered by Swift and Phoebe Bridgers’ vulnerable words and perfect harmonies; “How long will it be cute, all this crying in my room? / When you can’t blame it on my youth,” Bridgers asks, chiding the phony feminism and fetishization brought upon by shitty men. The Lori McKenna co-written kiss-off and Chris Stapleton duet “I Bet You Think About Me” is a welcome change in aesthetic, a pedal steel and harmonica-laden takedown of a pretentious ex. Perhaps best is “Forever Winter”, the rare song on Red not about a romantic relationship, instead about a friend struggling with addiction who “spends most of his flights getting pulled down by gravity”. Over trumpet and acoustic picking, Swift deftly illustrates the similar weight she feels worrying about her friend. And the much-awaited 10-minute version of fan favorite “All Too Well” is more musically subdued and lyrically bitter than the original, one that takes shape from a joke-filled jab at her ex to a full-on anti-gaslighting anthem. For a song with as much celebrity background and mythology as this one, Swift once again wows with her uncanny ability to write from a universal perspective; you, too, can imagine an awful date tossing a non-man the car keys and self-seriously declaring, “Fuck the patriarchy.”

Of course, there are some songs on Red (Taylor’s Version) that you’re glad never made the original, like “Message In A Bottle”, technically the first Swift collaboration with hitmaker Max Martin and Shellback but lesser in its arpeggiated synth pop than any of the glory of 1989. “Run”, with its milquetoast chorus, is even less worthwhile of an Ed Sheeran collaboration than the original album’s “Everything Has Changed”. For the most part, though, the re-recorded album justifies its two-hour run time. More importantly, it cements Red’s status as one of Swift’s best-written albums, a tribute to those between states, at the very least more ammunition against your boomer relative questioning her worthiness of inducting Carole King into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I'm pretty sure Ian is one of five or six people who noticed some of the personal writing I'd started to do on Tumblr before I left, and his relationship was more direct -- a random set of words from him ("chiffon brick motorcade") sent me on a year-long journey of writing an enormous but unpublishable piece of personal writing. That kind of generative and generous butterfly effect strikes me as very **Ian**. I sense he makes a very deep impression on a great many people at very different levels of closeness and intimacy -- give him an inch and he'll go a mile deep, something like that. Anyway, this is one of the songs I ended up using in some of that writing to organize some thoughts. It strikes me as very "huh I'm gonna be 40 soon, damn" (in a good way! look ma, we made it!) and it is also probably the closest the Beastie Boys ever got to sounding like Low, not that they got THAT close.
