This was initially going to be a super angsty one-shot I wanted to write about but I can't will myself to write it so I'm just gonna reveal this little angst headcanon of mine regarding the Hook siblings.

So, the Hook siblings are half fairies from their mother, Zarina. They don't have the major fairy appendages, like wings. But they got other smaller fairy attributes that are more in line with Never Fairies.

Like the elf ears.

Hook hates their ears with a burning passion because it's exactly the same "He who shall not be named"'s ears.

When Zarina dies and Hook's mental state is rapidly depleting, Hook tries to get rid of anything fairy-like in his home. Anything that reminded him of Zarina and Peter.

One drunken night, Hook gets this brilliant thought as he watched his children.

His children looked like fairies.

His children looked like Peter.

He had to correct that.

By the end of the night, Hook's hook was bloody, Smee was sick to his core, the kids were screaming-

And their ears were cropped into a vaguely human-ish shape. Mutilated and bleeding. The shapes were completely off, but so long as it didn't look like Peter's fairies.

Hook was at peace.

She has definitely blown up the labs at school multiple times.

She likes fire. Alot.

She used to be afraid of the dark and is still afraid of crocodiles.

She is the strongest swimmer out of her siblings.

Ginny is her half sister.

She is 5 years younger than Harriet and 2 years younger than Harry.

She used to be friends with Zevon's sister, Yzla, and his brother, Lil Yaz, before Yzla became a detective and before little Yaz died.

She admires Tinkerbell's sass alot. Not that she'll ever tell anyone that.

Back when Harry and Evie were friends, Evie made Cj her famous jacket. Leaving room for her to grow into it.

Gil made Cj her tights.

The boots she wears are her mothers old boots.

Cj still has her baby blanket (that looks like a map) hidden under her bed.

Which book Aks would be a total character favorite if he/she comes to life and why?

And which book Vks would be a character favorite if he/she comes to life and why?

ok so i haven’t finished reading the books, so i probably don’t know EVERY character, but out of the ones i do know.

for aks, i’d love to see artie. i’ve mentioned before that i love arthuriana, so seeing this is descendants would be so cool. in the sword and the stone, arthur hadn’t formed his table, but by descendants, he has. there’s clearly a story there, and artie could tell it. also, he’s just sweet and funny and young and none of the aks or vks are really that age, so having a character like that would add, idk, liveliness to the series? or maybe he could be a part of a new generation of sorts, especially now that they seem to be focusing on younger characters, going by rise of red. i’d imagine he’s probably around the age of chloe and red.

i’d also love to see li’l shang. i love mulan, and i love lonnie, and i’d love to see him and lonnie interact. they should fight crime together or something. vigilante li siblings.

as for vks, i’d love to see claudine, because she is already a favorite, and she has literally zero lines. i am holding ben captive as we speak to make him get her off the isle.

i’d also love to see maddy, for the same reasons as artie. i also kind of feel bad for her, because uma fully replaced her as mal’s rival. As much as i love Uma, i will never forgive the writers for ignoring maddy when she was RIGHT THERE and would be such a cool villain. also, her and uma would totally be friends.

would also like to see harriet. and the hook siblings interact in general. i can think of like, two times in canon they acknowledge each other as siblings.

honestly i just want every book character to make it into a movie/tv show, but these are the ones i’d love most.

the blood coming from her cheekbone, and her upper arm was something she'd intended to take care of on her own. that was until she'd bled onto the wooden floor and drawn her older brother's attention when he was coming inside. "i'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself you know!," cj snapped. really though, she was kind of glad not to have to clean this up herself. instead, she used her uninjured arm to reach for the bottle of rum they'd been using to clean her wounds and took a swig from it. "we tell dad i earned this, yeah?" in a fight, or something slightly more worth the effort and rum it took to clean up than her smacking into a wall because of a miscalculation. they both avoided hook as much as possible, but it wasn't always avoidable and if they were both there, cj wanted them to be on the same page.

Memories: Calista Jane Hook

(It seems my inspiration always strikes during my classes- enjoy the completion to the memories trio I thought up during my finals)

CJ would be the first to admit that she didn’t really remember her mother, though she looked the most like her, she was the only one of her siblings to get their mother’s blonde hair and most facial features, but there’s one thing her siblings have that she doesn’t…the memories

CJ doesn’t remember how old she was when her mother died, just that she was young, her memories of that time are spotty. She remembered Harry sitting by their mother’s bedside and bringing her small little trinkets and talking to her, she remembered Harriet taking them to Ursula’s fish and chips and her yelling at the men who made fun of their father. There was really only one memory CJ had of her mother dying that was truly her’s, sometimes, her father would lift her up and sit her on her mother’s bed so CJ could cuddle with her, she’d always put her little head on her mother’s chest where she could hear the fluttering of her heart while her father ran his hand through her mother’s hair…she remembers liking those days. The day her mother passed, CJ was being held by Harriet who kept whispering to her that everything was gonna be ok while holding back her own tears…why was she crying? Why was their father crying? Why was Harry hugging him?

CJ was seven when she became her father’s shadow, or…at least whenever Harriet would let her know if their father was feeling good enough to be above deck. CJ was aware of her father’s alcoholism, she knew it made him angry, and when he was angry she had to stay in her room with Harry while Harriet dealt with him. CJ liked her dad on the days he didn’t drink, he’d sit above deck with her and tell her stories of all the adventures he went on, sometimes he’d teach her how to sail, though only while the Jolly Roger was anchored, her favorite days were when they’d go into town and her dad would take her to watch Gaston’s “duels without rules” something he didn’t do with her siblings, only her…it felt special

CJ was thirteen when she snuck into Auradon, she was honestly surprised they hadn’t found her yet, she was hiding in Freddie’s dorm room. She missed her siblings, she wondered about them a lot…not like she could do anything else. She’d think about Harriet, was she worried about her? Was she getting along with their dad alright? How was Harry? Were the voices getting too much? Was he even still alive!? When CJ found herself starting to spiral, she’d pull out the one thing she had from her mother, a little photo of her as baby in her mother’s arms. She’d run her finger over the photo and study it…she really did look like her

CJ never joined her father for a drink, she had rum once with Harry and she thought it was gross, so she just sat with her dad on the deck of the Jolly Roger and listen as he drunkenly rambled about everything in life that had done him wrong. It was a chill spring night, and CJ was sitting with her father, he had been a couple drinks in and had begun to cry, crying about his pain, the pain of losing his wife, the pain of his eldest daughter having to grow up too fast, the pain of his son hearing and seeing things that weren’t there…and the pain of his youngest daughter never truly knowing her mother. CJ didn’t want to see her father cry, so she scooted closer to him and put her head on his shoulder, he eventually wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer to him, she let her head fall onto his chest…she could hear his heartbeat, it reminded her of when she was little, with her mother, only his wasn’t a gentle flutter, but a low, sorrowful drum, echoing with a lifetime of loss

CJ fell asleep in her father’s arms that night, she may not have known her mother…but she got to know her father, maybe not who he wanted to be, but who he became.

All vauge, but you have been warned

CJ had always been reckless. Ever since she could walk she had been getting in trouble, running into situations she shouldn’t belong or climbing up masts. She was rambunctious and loud and free.

There was no one really free on the Isle like CJ was. A luxury granted to her by her siblings, who held so much fear on the Isle no one dared touch her unless they were a fool. She ran from place to place doing as she pleased. So it was no wonder that it was these habits that did her in.

CJ had been enjoying Auradon. There was so much for her to explore, to find, to steal, to simply wreck havoc upon. Running from place to place, kingdom to kingdom, was exhilarating. She finally had people willing to give chase. The thrill of the hunt had been the most addicting thing she had felt yet.

So when the guards got close, within eyesight, and she ran, her voice bubbled with laughter. Crazy psychotic laughter. The only kind she knew, well the only kind she let the public know she had a reputation to protect. It rang out for miles, hiding her in the scenery to most, yet one guard kept her eyes on her, tracking her through the trees and brush, waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect shot.

CJ had stopped for a breath when it happened, standing on a branch, a huge smile across her face. The arrow in her chest took all of that away. She fell, shock replacing her smile, blood quickly blossoming along her shirt. Upon hitting the ground, the audible crunch of bones had even the guard flinching.

She approached closer, careful due to CJ’s known trickery, calling in the fall and potential capture of a wanted fugitive. The young girl just lied there. She seemed so simple, so small with her quickly blood soaking shirt and glassy eyes.

Somewhere on an Isle miles away, two people scream. A piece of their heart gone. They don’t know how. They don’t know why. Just a sinking gut and a searing pain telling them everything they need to know.

“She’s dead. The fugitive is dead. Prepare for extraction.”

The guard looked mournfully, remembering the details of the profile she was given: Calista Jane Hook, Age 14. She had only been a child.

No. She couldn’t think like that. The fugitive was dangerous for a reason. The property damage and millions of stolen goods spoke for itself. No. The world was far better with it out of it. (It had to be right?)

The body is taken in. A full work up is done. Medical tests and examinations. A full autopsy. A full cause of death and all the contributing factors. Everything is done. No stone is left unturned. No one had ever gotten a chance to truly see what the Isle had done to people before, they didn’t want to miss a single detail. Not when something so fascinating, so rare was in front of them. A whole study at their disposal, no ethics board sitting in their way. Not when there was no eligible next of kin. Not when there wasn’t a single soul who cared about the dead fugitive.

In a castle miles away sat a girl searching. For a way to talk, to get her back, to make a deal. A life for a life. Anything. She didn’t mean what she said. She didn’t want to be alone, didn’t want to be in a world without her wildfire. She couldn’t do this without her.

Finally after much pushing from the Crown, the fugitive’s body was released, but not without plenty of samples taken to continue testing. When it finally reached the hands of one Freddie Facilier, she wept at the loss of her dear CJ, who was almost unrecognizable. She was lifeless, none of her abundance of energy to be seen. Massive chunks of her hair were missing, surgical lines across every limb of her body. Every part of her dissected.

She crafted letters, being careful of who saw her. It wouldn’t do to have her surprise ruined. She mourned and buried her wildfire. CJ deserved to rest, deserved to be left alone from Auradon’s pain and torture. She watched and waited for vengeance, it didn’t belong to her, not really. And the sea always helped the sea, a ship couldn’t sail without waves. They grew closer and she grew more content, they will avenge her. They will avenge CJ.

When the siblings finally reach Auradon, it will burn. Their fury will reach levels never seen before. Lives will be taken, buildings broken into and burned. Every inch of what had been done to their sister, every reminder, every document will be destroyed. They don’t deserve her or the knowledge that their “research” on her gave them.

But it will never be enough.

Because Calista Jane will remain dead. She will remain in the ground (Or in labs never found.) She will never speak again. She will never laugh again. She will never run again. She will never be again.

Only the memory of her will remain untainted. And even that is not enough.

Wait- the Hooks have black hair and blue eyes too. Oh fuck.

Harriet and Harry have black hair, but not blue eyes. Harriet's eyes are swirling silver and Harry's eyes are what I call blue hazel- he's got blue, grey, green, and even a bit of purple in his eyes. But the sharpest colour in his eyes is the light grey, that's what makes his eyes so striking with the black eyeliner. Harry's eyeliner makes his eyes look entirely grey and Harriet's eyes are supernatural quicksilver (there's also the matter of Harriet's brown skin and the fact that Harry's hair is usually covered by his hat.) Those two are fine, don't worry.

CJ is not a problem at all, because she has dark gold hair. Her eyes may be the bluest of the three, but her blue is so dark it's nearly black, like the depths of the ocean. Ace only met her once, and it didn't even realize her eyes were blue. It thought her eyes were black

Dinner at the Hooks

Part 4/??; previous parts to be found on Tumblr or Ao3.

CJ and Claudine finally make an appearance and Sammy is still not paid enough for this, if you were wondering.

„Calista Jane Hook!“ the voice of one very pissed off Sammy Smee sounds through the Isle streets and CJ crouches down behind the chimney, pulling Claudine with her. „Don’t even try that, Calista! I saw you!“

Well, until Sammy says where they saw her exactly, CJ is not coming down, thank you very much.

„You were supposed to be at the Jolly Roger over three quarters of an hour ago!“ they shout, and don’t they know time is a social construct? CJ shakes her head at that, turns up her nose a bit.

„I can see you on the roof, Calista, come down this instant. Climb down – don’t jump, you’re at least two stories up.“

That could still have been a guess, couldn’t it?

But: Sammy is looking straight at them, glaring more like, and Claudine hisses into CJ’s ear: „Told you you should have ditched the cloak.“

„Hey!“ CJ protests, „I’m so not ditching the cloak!“

„What were you doing up there anyway?“ Sammy asks, all tired-like, and why, CJ must tell them, when they’re asking so nicely.

She stands up and runs to the edge of the roof before launching herself off into a sommersault; she falls on her feet and immediately rolls into a tumble. She jumps back on her feet and dusts off her cloak: Wouldn’t do for it to get dirty now, would it?

„What?“ she asks Sammy, who is now staring at her with an absolutely stoney expression, „I’ve been practising!“

„And I told you not to jump,“ they deadpan.

„…You did?“ CJ cocks her head to the side. This is news to her. „They didn’t, did they, Claudine?“ she turns up at her adopted sister for confirmation.

„Yes, they did,“ Claudine says, all disapproving. She is sitting at the edge of the roof now, her skirts hanging down around her feet and flaring a bit in the wind. Not too much, though, they’re too heavy for that.

CJ pouts at both of them and then some more when Claudine pushes herself off the roof and falls down. CJ isn’t surprised by her hypocrisy in the slightest.

„You two are gonna give me a heart attack one day,“ Sammy sighs, „Now, why were you on the roof..?“ They shake their head and change their mind quickly: „Nevermind, I don’t wanna know.“

Well, that’s too bad, because CJ does want to tell. She ignores Claudine bitching over the hand she scrapped in her fall and that if Gil would be there, he’d have catched her, and beams at Sammy instead: „Why! Old Ratcliffe was casting shadows ’round the arcade, so I figured we’d cast his place on fire! We were scouting terrain, to see how to go best at it! It’s stone-ish but I think I’ve got it!“ CJ turns around to Claudine, „Can Ivy get us the explosives? You must ask her!“

„You could ask her yourself,“ answers Claudine, making a face at her and very much looking away. She‘s this close to blushing, really, CJ can totally tell–

„But I won’t!“ exclaims CJ; then she claps her hands and turns back to Sammy, taking pleasure in the way her cloak spins around her, „Oh, Sammy, can we go get Ivy now? Claudine totally has a crush on her, we should invite her to the dinner too!“

„I do not!“ protests Claudine fruitlessly. Everyone who has eyes knows, except maybe for Claudine herself, that’s true… Something should be done about that.

„Absolutely not,“ says Sammy resolutely, „I’m not dealing with three of you arsonists in one room. You’re inviting Ivy only over my dead body.“

„We’ll see,“ CJ waves that away and smiles at Claudine, who just buried her face in her hands.

With that, of course, she sees Ratclife’s house again: Fucking Ratclife’s, keeping Freddie in the Arcade after hours. They deserve what they’ve got coming, really.

She flings one of her daggers into the doors just because she can. (It’s the ugly one, so she resolves to keep that in there as a warning.)

„Hey, Sam,“ she says, „Can we go visit the Arcade now? I wanna go see Freddie.“ At least say hello, when Freddie can’t come. Maybe maim some of her customers, if they’re too annoying.

„We are already late, Calista Jane,“ Sammy states, „We are leaving for the Jolly Roger right this instant.“

„But–“

„Or I’ll tell your sister what you’re planning and how uncooperative you are.“

CJ gasps at that – they surely wouldn’t!

„I <i>will</i>. Now let’s go.“ Sammy makes an attempt to grab her wrist but CJ dances out of their way.

„Are Uma and Harry there yet?“ asks Claudine, as if that was relevant?

„Yes. Everyone is waiting for you two. Now let’s go.“

Sammy grabs for CJ’s wrist again and this time, they get it. CJ pouts at that, but lets her sister’s first mate drag her away a bit. About a street or two, barely; Claudine walks after them, not even complaining much.

Then CJ squirms away and runs back, ignoring Sammy’s indigent cries for her to stop; Claudine just mutters something in plain disinterest and CJ is almost insulted by that.

But, you see. She saw these dumpsters right behind her target, and it would just be a pity to leave them be. Plus, it’s not like the trash is gonna be taken away, nah. This is the dumpster island, remember? Just left there to rot away. CJ’s doing it a service, really.

One quick flick of her wrist and the tiny flame flies through the air, others joining it just moments after.

(She must get new matches, she must remember–)

She doesn‘t wait to watch the flames rise and grow, even though she really wants to, because then Sammy would come, and Claudine, too, and CJ vaguely remembers something about Claudine not being allowed to linger by her flames.

Whatever.

She shakes her head and turns on her heel, marching back to Sammy and past them.

„Well?“ she barks out, „Are we going to the Jolly Roger or not?“
