I find November to be a different kind of dark and bewitching month. Misty and grey with a crisp but potent magic in the air, it makes me want to seek out art that is eerie and mysterious. Caroline Jamhour is gifted in the ability to create both traditional art thats is so smooth and refined it could be digital, and digital art that has a rich texture and depth that looks stunningly and effortlessly traditional. The result is something deeply mystical and steeped in its own mythology.
In her digital pieces she is able to create a dark, but enchanting mood, utilising light and shadow in a way reminiscent of classical paintings. This works effectivly with her intricate use of textures to give her paintings an almost worn appareance which is further enhanced by somehow achieving a painting technique that is remeniscent of thick oils or acrylic. This, combined with heavy outlines and chunky dabs of highlight carve a very sculptural look in her digital work and an almost Art Nouveau-esque graphical look in her traditional work. In her colour palette, she often juxtaposes cool and warm tones, with blue tinted highlights often popping against a yellow base. However it never clashes, as the tones are all united under an earthy sepia tone that, along with the texture, fully evokes the feel of an old vintage storybook, particularly seen here above in her Two of Wands Tarot card from created for the Woven Path Tarot.
Sorry that it has been long time no see with the Artist Features! This year has revolved a lot around getting settled in my new flat and as such, I’ve been feeling pretty dry creativly, but I’m feeling very hopeful and excited about the new year to see where my art takes me!

A drawing I made where I really felt like using Pink, which is not very usual for me...
I choose colors that resonate with my feelings at the moment, and sometimes it’s like they have a spiritual or emotional nourishing effect.
