With the hockey fic finally finished and not looking over my shoulder anymore, I’ve been putting my efforts into my COBB fic and my “for fun” fic. Thank you @aristocratic-otter for betaing my for fun fic. I’ve looked forward to your feedback and it’s motivated me to write.

Having said all that, who’s ready for a little angsty Snobaz knight action?

“Lady Wellbelove, could I be so bold to ask for a token to give me luck today?” Baz asks Lady Wellbelove with a flirty smile.

To my surprise, she not only responds, but looks mildly interested in Baz’s request. A spark of jealousy ignites in my chest and my mind is screaming “why him?!”.

“Do you rely on luck, my Lord? Or skill?” She asks with a coy smile of her own.

“Both. As most men do,” he says.

“You don’t need luck if you have the skill,” I interrupt.

And we’ll stop there as it gets a bit spoilery after that.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite fictional characters ever, Simon Snow!!!

I immediately fell in love with Simon when I started reading Carry On. I could relate to some of his struggles, especially the struggles with his sexuality. Simon helps me feel better about me being unlabelled and that it is completely okay to not know or just not want to put on any label. He'll always be one of my favorite chaotic himbos.

I can just imagine him celebrating today with Baz, Penny, Shepard, and just everyone (I don't want to spoil too much haha) 🥹❤️

Desperate Times

It's been WAY too long. I thought I would have this up on A03 by now but summer distractions got in the way. I'm also researching Thai superstitions and folklore to add another layer here.

In the meantime I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all y'all's work on here. I'm also looking forward to @caught-on-tape-fest & trying to choose one with which to bless my dulcet tones.... (more tags below the cut)

In this extract from Tender Ministrations in Thailand Baz is struggling to find blood, figure out a workable spell and generally suffering:

I was too dizzy to walk. I crawled into the trees. I started scratching at the earth, desperate for something. I knew I wasn’t too good for a cockroach now. 

“Look at me,” I thought, “if I don’t die from lack of blood, the humiliation will kill me.” Then, I heard music but not like anything I’ve ever heard before. Some kind of Thai instrument perhaps. Almost ethereal.  Ethereal? Merlin & Morgana, this is it.  We can die.  Turns out that it was Simon's loyalty to Penny that would kill me, not the Mage.

I don’t have much to share as this month has been absolutely bonkers and next month isn’t looking much better. But I have a little from my COBB and a smaller but from Sugar, We’re Going Down Swingin. I keep thinking how nice it would be to finish last year COBB before posting this years and I’m still hoping I can do that. I believe in me!

Anywhoozle, here you go…..

COBB:

I’m on my second coat of primer when I hear the loud bang of a door followed by a string of impressive curses. The water starts to run followed by a long stretch of silence. Just as I dip my paint brush back in the pale, I hear Baz call out to me.

“Snow?” My feet are on their way to him before the rest of me has time to think it through. “Simon? I - uh - I need your help.”

I pick up speed and for a second I debate sliding down the banister, but Baz already sounds on edge and I don’t think my arse polishing the railing will lighten the mood.

I find him in the kitchen with his hand under a stream of water, facing away from the sink, and looking paler than normal.

“What happened?!” My voice pitching high in the middle.

Sugar aka hockey fic:

Before I can second guess myself, I crouch down to the kids level, the awful rubber boots making a squeaking sound as I get comfortable, and I hand him the signed fish. He takes it and stares at the two signatures, my huge elaborate one and Simon’s smaller scribble.

“I’ll be listening for you,” I say, hoping it’s enough. Hoping I didn’t make him regret meeting me.

i haven’t really been Involved with the carry on fandom since 2016 and it feels like so much has happened since. ive always been here, but passively. i haven’t been consistently active on tumblr ever. i feel like it’s next to impossible to break back into a fandom when you no longer understand the in-jokes and you weren’t there for all the Significant Events. this has been my special interest since 2016 but idk i guess i stopped interacting w the fandom because it’s mostly on tumblr and i have no idea how this website works and i’m vaguely afraid to ask and/or talk to anyone. i always felt like i was just kind of watching it all happen instead of being part of the action bc i’m afraid to talk to people here, WHICH IS SO UNLIKE ME. all this to say, i’m kind of lonely in my love. i want to share my thoughts and feelings and fics with people who care & share my passion. i had like one (1) person to talk about baz with but they always acted better than me/like they knew more/loved the series more so i guess that was another reason i was afraid to reach out. but now i want communityyyyyyy. idk why i’m sharing this? it’s 3:30am and i am tipsy and reminiscing on the taste of community i had in 2016
