“Wait what do you mean I don’t have game? I’m married to Carter!” Ryan says confused and a little bewildered.

Kelsey looked at him not terribly unlike a much put upon mother trying to explain to her small child why it was generally not a good or sound idea to eat nothing but candy from dawn until dusk.

She turned slightly to get a little help from Chad or Dana, but nope, both Rangers currently on their lunch continued sipping their tea and eating scones that Kelsey knew for a fact were three days old and disgusting. Also Chad had taken out a paper that she knew Joel had taken the comics and crosswords out of so he could pretend he gave even half a damn about the state of the stock market; the traitor. Would have been nice to join them in ignoring the sad, seal pup eyed look from Ryan, as if she'd offended his honor, but she'd pretty much dug herself into this, she'd have to dig herself back out.

Back out, not in. Not aiming to dig towards the center of the Earth and prove once and for all that Jules Verne was full of shit but burning herself alive here. She cleared her throat and turned back to Ryan, trying to appeal to the brain in his head that knew the truth, "Ryan, sweetie, I will admit that you did in fact land a catch in Carter, but... Honey, come on, you know that's not why you stuck the landing with him."

Imagine Olympius taking note of your flirting with the male Rangers before the Red Ranger, concerned for your safety, asks you to retreat.

You didn’t seem to be tied down to anyone, if your casual teasing was anything to go by. Perhaps you were dating all of them. Olympius wanted to learn more.

After capturing everyone besides Carter, the prince decided to use their forms not just to infiltrate the Aquabase, but study you.

But who to impersonate first? It was a tough call. He’d definitely try both the Green and Blue Ranger. If you became his consort, he’d make love to you in his current, princely form. But Prince Olympius would gladly use his defeated enemies’ appearances to spice things up. If you wished.

Blue, he decided, impressing his underlings as the Star Power cycled through transformations. You did chat up the Blue Ranger first. So Olympius would try to hook up with you as Chad first. He was definitely going to try Joel afterwards, though. Maybe you’d ask him to leave the hat on.

'SECRET IDENTITY'

The last thing Chad expected that afternoon was to be ambushed. The sun was shining and he was lying on the grass soaking it in while you quietly sang a song you had in your head all morning.

"Okay." You spoke up once you had completed the crown and Chad leaned on his elbows, looking over at you to find you had made a flower crown, placing it on your head. "What do you think?"

It was a rare occurance for your schedules to coencide - sharing the same day off - unless it was the weekdend but even then time was short as Chad claimed he had many 'work emergencies' when in actuality he had a 'ranger' emergency.

Chad hadn't felt so relaxed in four months - since he became the Blue Ranger. You did not know this, however, you knew that the weight he was carrying on his shoulders had gotten heavier and so you planned a date in the park to help take his mind off of it. And it worked.

"You look beautiful." He smiled softly, and you returned the smile.

You leaned in to kiss him tenderly in what was meant to be a chaste kiss, feeling his hand on your cheek, another on your back, as he prolonged the kiss. You giggled against his lips when he laid down, bringing you with him.

It was then Chad heard them. Seconds before the Batlings could strike, Chad got to his feet, pulling you with him. You held onto his arm that was around your waist, moving you behind him as the Batlings formed a line.

"What are those things?"

Chad noticed your flower crown on the ground, a Batling stepping on it a moment later as it grew closer, clenching his jaw as the symbol of the peaceful bliss you had been in for two hours was destroyed. "Run."

You gasped when he ran towards the Batlings, calling his name. A Batling came running towards you and you ran off, hiding in the trees and when it couldn't find you it returned to Chad. You observed from a distance as Chad fought the foot soldiers, your eyes widening when he morphed.

While you were distracted, a Batling snuck up behind you and you threw your arms around, kicking the foot soldier as it dragged you out into the open. You thumped your fists on it's shoulders and landed on the ground. Chad destroyed the Batling before it could capture you again and you stared up at him as he demorphed, your lips parting in shock.

Chad sent you a small smile, holding a hand out to you. "Let's go." He helped you to your feet, his eyes checking you for injuries. "Are you okay?"

"I think so...You - the suit - those things -"

"I can explain everything." Chad assured you, a sigh leaving his lips. "It'll be a relief to finally be able to tell you the truth."

He took your hand and you stared up at him as he led you back to the spot you had been resting in before the attack, taking a seat next to him on the grass as he began to explain. You couldn't believe it. Your boyfriend was the Blue Ranger. You didn't know whether to be afraid or proud - perhaps you were feeling both, but all you knew in that moment was you were stunned by his revelation.

"I wanted to tell you everything as soon as it happened -"

"But you had to keep it a secret. I get it." You smiled softly and his shoulders relaxed when you placed a hand on his arm. "My boyfriend a superhero. And here I thought you couldn't beat caring about animals."

Chad chuckled, lowering his gaze to the ground as he shook his head. You placed a hand on his cheek and he met your gaze that held such fondness that it made his heart race. He closed the distance between you, his hand rising to your cheek as your lips met.

And as he laid down, his arms wrapping around you, you were back where you started before the Batlings had interupted.
