My Reflections on Waterton Lakes National Park and the Prince of Wales Hotel by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at Driftwood Beach with a view looking to the southwest across the calm, still waters of Middle Waterton Lake. This is in Waterton Lakes National Park. What I wanted to capture with this image was a balanced, leveled-on view across the water reflections to the bluff with the Prince of Wales Hotel and the mountain backdrop of Campbell Mountain and other ridges and peaks of the Livingston Range. I chose to work with NX Studio to better bring that complete setting in the image as I was having problems bringing out the true colors I wanted. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 6 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.

They're famed for their long stretches of beach scattered with driftwood, as well as picturesque towns full of shopping and dining. The Golden Isles are a four-hour road trip from Clermont.

Outer Banks: Trying to get out of state for your next road trip and get a change of scenery? Head north - about 12 hours, to be exact. This road trip might be best split into halves (and you can stop in Georgia or South Carolina and do some exploring). You're headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There are 200+ miles of beach to comb, plus tons of swimming, fishing, surging, skimboarding, and boating opportunities.

Find Your Next Adventure in Waterton Lakes National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While taking in views along the shores of Middle Waterton Lake at Driftwood Beach. The setting is looking to the southwest and is in Waterton Lakes National Park. My thought on composing this image was to create a balance between the dead tree along the shores with that of the Prince of Wales Hotel. I wanted to include some foreground interest, as well as capturing some of the reflections on the calm waters. The rest was aligning myself to create that balance, as well as having Bertha Peak and Mount Crandell as that mountain backdrop for this setting. I chose to work with NX Studio to better bring that complete color setting in the image, given the overcast skies that morning. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 6 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.

Went to Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island as part of my Goodbye Florida tour. (Even though Jekyll is in Georgia, but whatever! I grew up on the border! It's basically home!) Many dead trees were seen. A++, do recommend.
