i dont like them. they ruined my life. Subz and Vitalasy had already partnered in previous seasons but this one, Vitalasy ended up leaving for a few months, leaving Subz alone, and Zam ended up getting close to him after immense trauma at the hands of his former teammates. Zam has done SO many wrongs, including to Subz himself and Subz STILL took him in and made him join Eclipse Federation after Zam died 14 times in a row and got banned then revived by the same player who's been killing him all this time. And it could've been perfect but no, Zam had betrayed his previous team due to them using dupes via exploits, and now Eclipse Federation ALSO has exploits! And he decided that yeah his morals were more important than being loved! And so he murders Vitalasy when he's at his most vulnerable point, lets everyone gaslight him into thinking Vitalasy is an irredeemable evil monster who will never change, even as Vitalasy SAID he was ready to change before the betrayal even happened, Eclipse threw out their whole revenge plans because of Zam's positive influence and he just broke everything. Subz couldn't be with Zam but also couldn't see himself at Vitalasy's side, leaving him alone. Vitalasy hated Zam and yet never killed him or hunted him down, despite Zam acting like he did. And when Vitalasy left, banning himself off from the server, Zam had some time alone to think and realized he fucked up SOOOO bad. And Subz revived Vitalasy and told him to kill him. And ban him. His last wish. His Deliverance. And to make up with Zam. And Vitalasy tried, and they kind of did make up over Subz's death, but then Zam was like "actually im going to kill everyone and destroy the server now. because i want subz back and also because i always do extremely drastic things when i don't need to because i have unchecked mental illnesses i refuse to get help for". And surprisingly when Subz came back he didn't like that! And they ended in tragedy! Eclipse is fucked up. It's a trio that's always about the absence of one person, it's a team that could only happen in one timeline and it was doomed from the very start. But the love was there. It made everything worse, truthfully. But it was there. And that matters. Also as a fun fact Zam himself on twitter has referred to eclipse as a throuple, which is not canon but that's pretty funny. he also stated on stream he didn't want to get therapy because it'd ruin his lifesteal character. and there was a saga where they would "marry" (challenge lost kinda shenanigans) and zam was the only one happy about it. he's not normal. there's something wrong with him. love that for him though sorry for the block of text. I really dislike them. They're my beloveds :3

They are each others everything; they discarded their former affiliations to form their own sides; they are the best of friends and so close that they can't imagine life without each other. But they also *canonically* (at least in the books) do not experience sexual attraction, or romantic attraction, at least not in the same way humans do; their relationship *cannot* be defined by something as simple as romance, and this is a view the author (Neil Gaiman) has endorsed. Hence, queer platonic.

EEEEEEEE they're so CUTE and they LOVE each other and the fact that this love doesn't have to be specifically romantic doesn't make it less REAL and that warms my aspec heart.

In the book they’ve been friends for thousands of years and are v involved in each other’s lives (routinely have dinner ‘dates’, Crowley frequently hangs out at Aziraphale’s bookshop, generally hanging out and stuff.) Since their not human, they don’t really understand human relationships, love, and gender which makes their relationship v queer. They’re mistaken as a couple by other characters despite not being in a romantic relationship. In the show the same things happen and new scenes are added showing how their friendship grew, them becoming much more devoted to each other, and various struggles they’ve had in their relationship. (ei. Sorta breaking up, them each wanting different things out of life)

they've known each other for over 6,000 years. they saved the world together. they have saved each other over and over again. they love each other so deeply and you can see their love for each other in everything they do. as an aromantic queerplatonic person they embody what queerplatonic love means to me so perfectly

Propaganda for Campal:

They're two people who have spent their whole lives together and are hopelessly devoted and loyal to each other. While some people do read their relationship as strictly romantic or platonic, it has way more going for it through a QP lense! They've been lifelong friends, and in their culture are essentially non-romantic life partners as a necromantic wizard and his bodyguard/champion. It's actually strictly taboo for them to engage in a romantic relationship because of this. But nonetheless they remain close to and devoted to each other, going so far as to use necromancy to keep each other close after one of them dies, and then going on to share a body until it becomes physically impossible to do so any longer. So they burn both of their souls to merge together into one new entity, creating a walking metaphor for queerplatonic partnership. They endlessly support and encourage each other, they're a perfect team when it comes to both peaceful study and combat. They know each other inside and out, long before they had to share a body, they were inseperable.

They're two halves of one whole, literally, and nothing about that intense closeness and partnership is written to be romantic! Especially because other, similar characters in the series ARE written to read as romantic, and there's a distinct tonal difference to those relationships! Basically, they're two peas in a pod, two halves of a whole, clearly not quite platonic with it, but certainly not romantic either.

The author of The Locked Tomb has a long term queerplatonic partner! She even dedicates the books to him and signs those dedications with a <> (which is a Homestuck reference, denoting a non-romantic partnership that a number of fans associate with QPPs!). You can feel the influence of her own experience with queerplatonic attraction in a lot of the series, but it really comes through especially in Cam and Pal!!

AITA for wanting to meet my QPP and going out of my way to try to do so after they’ve said no?

Okay, so. This is a very complicated situation, I’ll try to offer as much details as I can, but I am currently running off a fresh four hours of sleep and I am dead on my feet.

Me (18 genderfluid) and my partner, X (17 nb) have met almost three years ago on Tumblr. We have become really close in that time, and I asked them to be my QPP last year.

We’ve never met irl, because of the simple fact that we live on different continents and were both until this summer.

Well, as it happens, X’s parents decided to take him on a trip overseas in august. As soon as they learned this, they told me and we both freaked out.

Because the trip would put him and me only a two hour flight away. I immediately asked my parents if it would be possible to do something about this, fully expecting to be denied.

However, my parents not only Agreed, they helped me devise a full timeplan and schedule and find plane tickets and a hotel.

I told this to my partner excitedly and they were obviously excited, I was, too. Since it was a family trip, they had to ask his parents, though. One of them was completely fine with it, but the other just said no.

It was made worse by the fact that it was a step-parent to X.

Usually, I am a very calm person, and am able to accept a logical argument. But there was no apparent reasoning behind the step-parent saying no. At least not one that me or X could see.

I cried for the entire day after learning of this and I just couldn’t calm down. I was so close to meeting the most important person in my life and it slipped out of my fingers right before it became a reality.

Anyways, it pissed me off beyond reason and I booked the tickets, hotel and invited my mom for an impromptu three day holiday. Obviously, she knew why I was going, since she helped with the planning, so she agreed.

My partner learned of this, obviously. I told him as soon as I decided to do it, but because of timezones, they were already unavailible when I told them.

So I flew out yesterday. I should probably mention that I will be paying everything back to my Dad, who bought the tickets, which will be almost the entirety of my savings.

I gave an option to X. If he wants to meet, I’ll meet with them, if not, I’ll leave it. Yesterday, he wasn’t sure. We discussed it for a long time, I cried again.

I was emotional, sleep deprived and in a completely different country, so I was mean. I tried not to be, but I did say some things that I regret. I apologised immediately, but still.

Mostly, I was asking about why he’s scared to meet. I won’t elaborate on the reasoning, since it’s his own bussiness, but Basicaly, it was his parents. Because they hadn’t Agreed to the meeting.

Well, I begged him to at least try asking again and went to sleep.

X texted me whilst I was sleeping, saying he discussed it with his step-parent and tried to convince them to let us meet.

However, this is where their step-parent finaly revealed their reasoning.

The trip they are on is meant as a sort of ‘goodbye’ trip for X, since he’s turning 18 next year and for whatever reason, they don’t expect him to be very happy to spend holidays with them again.

Yea, I know, I’m being sarcastic and salty, but I think it’s deserved. Why Oh why would your child want to cut contact with you once they turn 18, you shall never know.

In any case, I learned of X’s family’s plans for the following day and it was a thing that I Also really wanted to do (since I did give him the option to tell me yes/no for the meeting I turned the trip into a holiday with my own mom). I have been super excited to do this during the trip and it just so happened that the weather was perfect for the activity as well, so I just decided to go Anyways, much like with the trip.

My main motive was absolutely the trip itself, but the possibility of running into X Also influenced my decision.

We didn’t end up meeting, but if we did, it would’ve Caused trouble for him and they already said no to meeting me.

I understand that everyone’s boundaries and fears are different and I try and respect them, but I’m so frustrated with this situation, because were our situations reversed, I would’ve met with X, whatever the consequences.

So. AITA?

Opal is a new guardian , he is just learning about aus and doing his best to become a proper guardian to the multiverse

Rather than having an array of colorful vials , he created one vial , an iridescent vial , compiled of all the other colors in a perfect mix to balance his emotions . It took him many tries and many fails to perfect it , but he refused to begin his training without having balanced emotions .

He is a lot more softspoken than Ink , Opal always has a gentle demeanor and positive outlook .

He also had no idea who Ink was for a while , and was rather confused with multiple people comparing him to Ink , until he finally got to meet him and piece everything together .

Honestly , I had no intention to make him a soft sweetheart , he was supposed to literally be ink but iridescent , but somehow he became a gentle soul who is positively Fluttershy coded .

Opal is 5'0" and has the biggest sweet tooth . His favorite color is pink so bonus points if you give him pink colored sweet treats .

His favorite pass times are drawing , painting , and crocheting .

He blushes a shimmering iridescent hue .

Random headcanon: Both Odysseus and Penelope were given a "photographic memory" by Athena. When Athena had "forsaken" Odysseus it was taken away. Makes it nice because a lot of the more fucked up parts of the Odyssey are a bit more "fuzzy" for him. And he hates feeling "so out of sorts". He gets it back though.

Also Athena technically took Penelope under her "wing" like, one month before Odysseus.

Unpopular Helen Opinion: In MY FICS, (It's okay if you don't agree!) She is built like Rose Quartz from Steven Universe. She doesn't have a perfect "hourglass figure". She's got some pudge on her tummy. Girl is TALL (Demigod) and CHUBBY. One of the important components of Helen and Menelaus' relationship is that they are both strong enough to lift each other. Also she's the most beautiful woman in the world and chubby women are hot af lskdjf She also SUCKS at singing. She's good at wrestling and spear work. (Sparta. I also love athletic women. Plenty of chubby women are also athletic af. If you think otherwise, literally look up women's Olympic sports participants.)

It's OdyDio. Heads up but in my fics, know that they had a weird "middle school romance" that ended badly (Odysseus randomly decided to bite Diomedes while they were kissing and then ran away when they were around 15-17. It was Odysseus' first relationship and he freaked out and got embarrassed and now Odysseus makes it everyone else's problem. It's canon to me. It's fucking funny) and now they're weird exes who are the fucking WORST to each other and compete to be "Athena's best boy".

These are the reasons why so avoid them if you don't want to read that! :'D This is the only time I will ever be on the "Odysseus hate train" because he's such an asshole to Diomedes.

I feel so bad about it. 😭 I'm a freak who likes Odysseus/Menelaus (probably having a BROTP or a QPP going on) I think it's because Odysseus is just... SO MEAN to Diomedes. And when he's not mean, he's just neutral. There is not really any "Diomedes, you're the best guy!". Especially when have Sthenelus and Diomedes saying I love you to each other To ME, they are like co-workers who work GREAT together on the battlefield and on missions, but never do anything outside of that.

When Diomedes asks for help, Odysseus sprints away from battle. When Diomedes compliments him before the night raid, Odysseus literally is like "Dude, you're not the only person who knows I'm good at stealing. Let's go."

Odysseus is an asshole but he's still so mean to Diomedes! 😭 ESPECIALLY WHEN DIOMEDES IS SO FUCKING NICE TO ODYSSEUS!!! I know that's what probably makes them so compelling to so many lovely folks but I love fluff BECAUSE I'm so tired of toxic relationships irl. I don't...I don't see how I can make OdyDio fluffy 😥 With OdyDio, I feel like I'm watching my bestie (Diomedes) get back with their toxic ex who mistreats them (Odysseus). Diomedes is actually quite polite to the others. Even when Agamemnon scolds him, he tells Sthenelus to think nothing of it. He compliments Odysseus! He listens to the gods when they tell him "Hey stop fighting!" and listens to Athena! Like he's violent and a killing machine but he's respectful! He's a traumatized, respectful, killing machine! He bitches at Paris but everyone has done that! That's something everyone partakes in /j

It bothers me even more because when Odysseus is with Penelope, he's so wonderful and loving? And that the Odyssey barely mentions Diomedes? And since Odysseus runs away from Diomedes when he asks for help, it boggles my mind that books earlier, he goes into a rage when his friend gets killed!

I DO plan on Diomedes going to visit Ithaca with Sthenelus while Odysseus is still gone. They ARE kind of friends/frenemies during the end of the war but it's a weird thing where Diomedes cares about Odysseus but Odysseus tolerates him. Like he left him to die. I love Odysseus. He's my special little guy but he treats Diomedes, another special little guy, like shit 😞

Also just...Most of anything about OdyDio (fanart/fanfic/etc.) it's of them fighting or bickering or betraying each other or being very sexual. I already plan to write Odysseus (and Penelope) as Aspec CODED and so I...just really don't care for that??? There's barely ANYTHING of them being soft. BECAUSE THEM TWO TOGETHER just aren't soft... If Cyrus was a romancable companion, what would be his unique kissing animation?

His long kissing animation would be bowing to kiss his li's knuckles, then kissing up their arm to their neck, before finally capturing their lips in his. The kisses would start slow and methodical but pick up speed as he gets excited.

Some of his shorter kissing animations would be a deep hug where he buries his face in his li's neck and kisses their cheek before pulling away, and a kiss where the li strokes his ear and he has to pull away to gasp, and an animation where he picks his li up and twirls them around before bonking foreheads affectionately (and his partner does the Disney princess leg lift. Yes, all of them, it's required)

(And also in my perfect world the spin animation + some platonic cheek & forehead kisses would be available for anyone with high enough approval who wanted them bc Cyrus' concept of partnership is not limited to romance, maybe even with an alt QPP route, BUT)

And if you're romancing him as a dwarf/gnome/halfling, he drops to one knee SO FAST and does not stand up again after the kiss. In fact, I think you tell him "I'd like to talk about us" and he is already kneeling before saying "What would you have of me?"

And if you say "May I kiss you?" he'd say "always" or he'd chuckle and say "of course" and afterward he'd say "this day is perfect. You're perfect" or he'd give a little sigh and say "gods, I've wanted you" or he'd smirk and say "I do hope I'm not distracting you" or he'd murmur "I've never felt safer than when I'm touching you"

AND if you ask him "What am I to you?" in Act 2 he'd say "You are everything to me. My love, my oath, my life, all that I am and all that I have to give, it's yours. I'm yours." and in Act 3 (presuming a character arc about being less totalizing & singular in how he identifies himself with his sense of duty) "You are my home. Where I rest, where I heal, where I return. I don't always know how to find my way back to myself, but I know that you will, my heart. Always."

So much has changed since then, quarantine happened, we were reduced to online classes, and I ended up moving to the States for a chance of a better life. We kept in touch, of course, through messages screaming over fandoms and platonic marriages on minecraft servers (how dare you for suggesting that before i knew abt cbeeduo >:( ) and like 5 meet ups over the summers. But it wasn't enough, and timezones and a desire for a more physical (in a actually there beside you sort of way) relationship eventually culminated in you asking to break it off two weeks before I met up with you in the Philippines. God damn it G, why didn't you wait? I had it all planned in my head. The night of my debut, as all my guests were leaving, I would take you to a private corner where we would talk, and I admit to you that yes, maybe my feelings for you turned out more romantic than I initially thought, but with the physical distance it wasn't right for us to pursue something of that nature, especially as I had wanted to try dating in college and didn't want to end up hurting you. I would say I love you and maybe leave you with a kiss, and that was how we'd gain closure. Well the kiss didn't happen and you laughed when I scolded you for not waiting before you admitted that yeah, you felt the same way but also agreed that our level of commitment wasn't right for us, not anymore. Okay now that I’ve had a minute to think about it, my biggest want would be: a new Birds of Prey book for the modern age. Babs is disconnected from the Batfamily and is a leader of her own team. Dinah co-leads the book, with emphasis on her martial arts skills, common sense, and emotional intelligence. There are no other mains, but rather each arc Babs calls up different (usually female) heroes that suit the situation that she and Dinah don’t usually work with (Zatanna, Jesse Quick, Jessica Cruz, Jo Mullein, Natasha Irons all come to mind immediately) - there are so many underutilized female heroes, it’s a perfect concept.

Babs is not only Oracle and is still disabled, but the writer has done some intense thinking about how Oracle’s power and influence isn’t over tech, but over information. This Oracle is at the height of her powers under technofeudalism and occasionally struggles to make the “right” choices because of it. (It’s already pre-crisis canon that Oracle has swayed elections!!) This Oracle isn’t a hacker, but a single woman who has access to so much data, so many algorithms, that she is like a mystic to ordinary people (and Dinah, who’s our pov character for the detailed stuff; she’s a grounding influence to Babs). The writer has not only read but understood books like Capital Is Dead: Is This Something Worse and is excited to play with what could happen by throwing Babs into the dystopian horror of the attention economy.

Because of these considerations, the plots are primarily offensive rather than reactive - think Leverage. We can have supervillains, but only if Babs is hitting them first (and they’re tech/finance/fossil fuel bros). Bat and arrow fam members (including love interests) can briefly show up, but more on the social side than for work; if Dick does up it’s brief and plot-unimportant; the narrative takes pains to emphasize that the relationship between Barbara and Dinah is the central one in both their lives (I’m not opposed to DinahBabs but I do mean it in a QPP way), and they like it that way.

Babs at her full powers as Oracle frightens me and I'd love to see her in a modern age waging literal techno war against ai-bros. This comic could be a narrative on today's deep and troubling implication for the use of ai, but this is just a small sample of what could be done.

Each issue or arc could also be about certain problems within the digital landscape of our economy and society. I feel like the one delving into the right to privacy would shake Babs quite a bit considering the blatant and outright violations of that perpetrated not just by her, the Batfam but many many members of the extended League. (honestly this is the one thing that bothers me so much about some of their practices and if I found out that ANY of my coworkers or friends were 'spying' on me for any reason, I would feel so violated and I am not sure how much I could trust any of them again or anyone who knew about it and didn't tell me).

This is just where MY mind goes and could be part of this series with of course everything else you suggested.

There is so much potential here.

OH BOY I actually, haven't thought very much about this. If only because in my eyes, Chip is so... Like That.

He probably just doesn't have a firm opinion on a number of managers simply due to the fact he doesn't go out socializing. His thoughts for the most part probably stay focused on mainly the Bossbots, with the rare exception.

Spruce is an obvious outlier since he's a Cashbot, but him and Chip are definitely best described as brothers from another manufacturer. They're incredibly close, refer to each other on a first-name basis, so on and so forth. Literally the only guy he's got left in his eyes.

Flint and Chip have history as friends. Probably would've ended up as QPPs but uh. Recent Developments made him start pushing Flint away in a subtle sort of manner (While Flint refers to Chip on a first-name basis, Chip exclusively refers to them as Mr./Mx. Bonpyre these days). Estranged friendship.

Tawney and Chip have clashing ideals. Chip is very strict and harsh as a boss, you'll need to give your 110% if you don't want to get sent packing in a cannon. Tawney on the other hand is an incredibly fair boss who makes sure no one is overworked. You want Tawney as your boss, they will let you do things at your 90% to give a comparison. While it's not a hate per say, they definitely have a mutual disliking for one another.

Dave is loud. Very loud. Very noisy. Chip isn't a fan of him.

Outside of the Bossbots (and Spruce) though...

Kind of? Gets along with Holly? They have a similar strive for perfection. I don't see much coming of it though due to working in different areas, plus Chip's good ol' 23 hour work days not leaving much up to socialization, again.

Mary is an environmentalist. Chip leads the Deforester Force. These two do Not like each other. Chip isn't getting in her way, but the inverse definitely happens...

Buck and Graham are both silly and loud. Probably not a fan. (He could probably have his mind changed about Graham but that would take him not being so. Everything about feeling like he has to isolate himself from Flint)

Any other manager is just... he'd probably shrug. Doesn't have much of an opinion on them.

SIGH this is gonna be the longest section. since they’re on opposing sides in their og ff.vii universe there are a lot of complexities that come with it, and the aus are mostly playing around with that by getting rid of that element completely……..

-turk!chrome au. this one’s kind of simple it just means they work together instead of against each other, and also the number of possible scenarios goes up a lot because of the close proximity. ciss.nei is also present in this au and her n chrome are both turk partners and qpps!!!!!

-octo.path 2. INITIALLY in this au chrome n reno were both thieves (chrome being dancer class who was also story-wise a thief, reno being actual thief class) who because of Unlikely Situations ended up being traveling partners, but THEN i realized HEY. WHY DIDNT I MAKE RENO A BLACKSNAKE. so he’s a blacksnake now. i don’t know why i didn’t think of that he’z literally a new delsta guy. and there are jester npcs in new delsta!!! so chrome can fit in pretty well without having to change much about him. i really like the vibe of this one but parts of it give me emotionz . you get it. moving on,

-i did think of a b.aldur’s gate 3 au. i guess it’s similar to the scrapped octo.path one.. they’re both rogues (chrome arcane trickster, reno assassin), meet after the tadpole debacle and decide trying to cure it together is the best option. (it might be in-character for reno to be like Eh. if i die i die *walks off alone* but i’m not lettinf him do that they’re doing this together somehow. maybe when they do the tadpole mind-connect thing he sees something interesting from chrome’s past and is like hmmm. i dunno.) this one is mostly for funny dnd moments (they’re my comedy ship after all.) such as chrome being like “uh no i don’t trust you to disarm that i’ll do it.” n reno being like “you sure?” and then chrome crit-failing and them standing there in silence with the blinded status effect. (“…see, i knew that was gonna h-” “don’t say anything.”)

-HFNDJ I JUST REMEMBERED I MADE THEM A GHOST TR.ICK AU. I DONT REMEMBER THE DEAL WITH IT HOLD ON. it was like . chrome died and became a ghost like s.issel……. and found reno dead too, used his ghost tricks to save him and ended up helping him with his shady real life work stuff …… ? it conflicts with regular chrome’s morals but if you mess with it the concept is really fun. ghost partner in crime. mind communication shenanigans. i wanted to draw fake screenshots for them in the art style hfndj i should do that sometime.

-oh i do have a rune f.actory au for them i guess. just in concept though <3. i can’t think of??? many canon rf charas that act similar to reno?? but he would have leon-esque dialogue humor-wise (AGH). and if chrome is the protag, giving him supposed “disliked items” does nothing because he just thinks it’s funny. game mechanic where you CANNOT lower this guy’s affection . i don’t think he would be affiliated with the sechs empire but he would have something mysterious like that going on… and he wouldn’t say much about himself so maybe his heart points would be capped lower ‘til a certain point like doug’s are??? and he wouldn’t tell you what gifts he likes either. there’d be a dialogue branch like “so what do you like, then. :/” “where’s the fun in that? try figuring it out.” and then his reactions to gifts onward would change based on that. 2.) Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

Aside from my usual Cisco/Caitlin (the Flash) and Colette/Lloyd (Tales of Symphonia) mentions... Estelle/Yuri from Tales of Vesperia. I could see them as QPPs, but their relationship just reads so perfect as friends that I just don't vibe with romantic interpretations of their ship. Also don't really get Yuri/Judith either. They flirt a bit at first, but it's very joking and - again - I see them clicking so hard as friends that I just don't see the shipping chemistry.

7.) Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

The Steve/Tony ship from the MCU fandom. Civil War kinda ruined that for me, though the seeds were probably planted in Ultron with Steve's hypocritical behavior about secret keeping. (Civil War also really soured my opinion on MCU Steve in general. And made it very clear that the MCU had been put in the hands of producers who neither liked nor understood any of the characters at all, which was unfortunate.)

It takes a lot to sour a ship this badly for me, though the poor treatment of all the characters in the lead up to the Thanos arc made me check out of the MCU entirely for a while. (I think what they did with Wanda was the worst by making her start off as Hydra, considering her history in the comics. I know she's a bit of a polarizing character in the comics too, but making her Hydra - a Marvel Comics Nazi - was a bridge too far.)

16.) If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

Eric Wallace being a show runner on the Flash. Everything bad about seasons 6 through 9 can be laid at his doorstep, especially given his penchant for promising things that weren't delivered on.

Cisco having an important arc in S7 before leaving was... him deciding to leave in the background and having a last minute farewell episode that, while funny, felt ultimately kind of insulting to the character's importance. Iris' big S6 arc was... her being isolated from everyone else most of the story arc while a fake version took her place. And she was overshadowed by the Speed Force dying arc too, which was kinda infuriating.

Frost was promised an important arc and they gave her a criminal love interest. Giving Frost a boyfriend was not an important story arc and was clearly just another round of the amatonormative idea that romance is the only thing that humanizes a character. And, insult to injury, her new love interest wasn't even an interesting character. The comics version of Chillblaine was a Captain Cold knock off, at least one version of which was one of Lisa Snart's love interests which is an interesting choice for a character meant to be a lite version of Lisa's brother. And, worse, Frost's sacrifice to save Caitlin winds up furthering his story arc when Caitlin is inconveniently disappeared for most of S9.

Chester and Allegra were also promised interesting story arcs, but if they got any it was impossible to notice over the very loud pair the spares crap going on with them. More amatonormativity. -_-

Khione was promised to be an important character in S9, but there was nothing going on with her that couldn't have been done better and more meaningfully with Caitlin getting her own Frost powers and learning to accept her sister's death.

And all of this - and more! - can be blamed on Eric Wallace.

Admittedly, the show has always had a problem with amatonormativity and poor management of plot lines where Barry wasn't the lead. But it was massively exacerbated under Eric Wallace's direction and, at times, made the show nigh unwatchable because of the poor management of the plot. (Looking right at you, Armageddon, and your three different and contradictory evil plans that Eobard was somehow enacting simultaneously.)

Starting to ID as aro has honestly been such a lovely thing, top 10 things that happened this year so far like, everything is so much easier now.

Like aromantic is a very scary label, at least it was for me, but it really doesn't mean anything beyond what you want it to mean!

Literally nothing mayor has changed in my life or the way i interact with things, biggest difference is that my then bf is now my QPP and that's it.

In fact, ID'ing as aro has made me feel soooooo much more relaxed because i feel like i can be silly and horny and flirty and blehhh 🤪 without having to care about the possibility of romance.

Like, because the line between romantic and platonic is non existent for me because I'm insane i mean neurodivergent before it felt like i HAD to reciprocate the feelings of the other person, but now that i feel like i don't have to I feel soooooo free to be as silly and gay and flirty as i want.

Like this whole aro thing has just opened a whole wide world of new possibilities when it comes to relationships and they can just be whatever!!!! Which I think it's bc romance feels more like a team work, while platonic feels like two individual works, allowing each member to do whatever they want however they want w their internal processes without worrying. <- best way I've ever put my struggles w romance into words btw

AND AND AND very important to mention: i don't even fucking classify down to a t in the definition. I do feel love to some degree and like I said I'm flirty (and I'm also horny) and veeery silly so I'm nowhere near close to being like the poster child for aromanticism, i love love a lot in whatever form it comes. But the thing is, WHO CARES!!! The romantic attraction i experience is little to none, so aro is the label for me. EVEN I've had crushes and shit.

Like it's easy to get lost in wanting to find a perfect label for yourself, something that matches your experience perfectly, and i personally felt sooo discouraged when i couldn't find such a thing but the thing is... It doesn't matter. You can make a word into whatever you want it to be.

It was in 2014, iirc. I started TG when it was over but before :re was published (by the time i was finished, :re was 7 chapters in, very precisely xD i remember bc it's the chapter Nishiki calls Haise Kaneki)

My thoughts:

I've talked about this extensively in the past but yeah their friendship is insanely important to me. The way they go on about "you're my friend" it makes me bonkers. They are the definition of what relationships should be, in my book. Friendship first and foremost and above all, for better or worse. They are The QPP™. Absolutely legendary. First ship to make me so gone. I often say Percabeth was my first OTP but nothing consumed me quite like Utaren did before they did. They're my OTQP? I guess? xD

What makes me happy about them:

Yeah, their friendship. How ride or die they are about each other. Able to rip each other to shreds but will also risk their lives to save the other. How accepting Renji is of Uta's clownship (before it threatens Touka lmao). The unconditional love. The brutality of it.

What makes me sad about them:

"Nec possum tecum uiuere nec sine te". doesn't make me sad per se but ouch anyway. The abandonment Uta felt when Renji left. The intricate knowledge Uta has that he can't be by his side but they can't be apart either - to the point of getting it tattooed. On his fucking neck.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Making it sexual. I don't read much TG fanfics these days (or at least not new ones. i reread my favs instead) so idk what's the trend regarding them but back then I never liked them smut. Feels unnatural.

Also once I read a fic in which one said "ily" to the other (they were in a relationship already) and the other got up and left and they broke up??? What's up with that. I genuinely don't get why saying ily to your boyfriend would make him leave?? isn't that why you're dating?? Anyway.

Things I look for in fanfic:

4th ward era. "graphic depiction of violence" is always welcome.

How I feel about this character:

I feel too many things in too much quantity. I feel love, I feel grief, I feel protectiveness, I feel something sink in my stomach and something lift me in the sky. He is my most beloved, my husband, the light of my days. He makes me smile, he makes me oh so happy and he's one of the reasons I cry at night. He is everything to me.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:

Langa, of course. Kiriko, also and also of course. Both in the EDEN and Adakiri/LoveMantis way and in the EDENMantis way uwu

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character:

With Tadashi, kink dom/sub relationship, with deep deep devotion on Tadashi's side and slowly recovering trust and friendship.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Depends on unpopular where. If it's in the entire western sk8 fandom, the unpopular opinion would be ADAM is absolutely amazing both character-wise and person-wise. He's the best and he deserves so much love.

If we're talking ADAM fandom, it would be that He Is Not A Slut. He is the very opposite of that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish Cherry would apologize to him. I wish he'd managed to kill Reki. I wish we would know more of his past, especially regarding Kiriko. That's three things. Who cares.

Favorite friendship for this character:

With Tadashi, as kids. With Joe and Cherry, as teens. With Langa (and with Kiriko in my dreams), as adults.

My crossover ship:

With Matsuri (TG). I don't exactly ship it and it wouldn't work anyway because they're both doms but it's fun thinking about them meeting and becoming friends.
