Billzo is sitting on the floor in the middle of what appears to be a house party. He is hunched over a midi controller and pretending to do crazy dj moves. He has one hand to his ear like he's listening to the music he's making through headphones. Tubbo and Piso4 can be seen to the side. Tubbo is headbanging and Piso is laughing.

daylight - a close reading
daylight. one of those glorious ones on harry’s house that start sweet as a summer’s day in childhood and then go headbanging-hard towards the end. the bluebirds killed us all. i mean to say: harry decided to kill us all by singing about being a fucking bluebird. illegal.
harry’s house, track 5

+ i hope you’re missing me like i’m missing you. i hope you need me like i need you. (i know you need me like i need you)
If I was a bluebird I would fly to you You'd be the spoon Dip you in honey so I could be sticking to you
“bluebird” aka a stab in the chest. reference to over the rainbow: “somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly” - h sang it at harryween yeah i don’t need to remind anyone
// if i could fly aka another stab in the chest

he’s not sleeping bc they’re talking all night, so he’s sleeping during the day -> daydreaming
-> actually asleep? dreaming up the scenarios in this song?

cut out my heart, cut out my essence, cut out my centre?
dick pick? lol (matches the love on the go theme)
“you ain’t got time for me right now”: you’re working, you’re on the move, you’re not here, yet i want all this attention from you!!! to the point that i’ll send pics man!!
SYNTHESIS
As much as HS1 or Fine Line liked to flirt with dreamlike scenarios, Harry’s House is fully committed. Daydreams, real dreams, drugs-induced hallucinations... who shall say which is which? In this song, for example, I think they flow over in each other.
If we start off with the premise of “ain’t gonna sleep till the daylight,” we could consider the possibility that he’s asleep. It’s daytime, after another night of long-distance phone calls with his lover, and he’s snoozing away. The rest of the song is dreams. If we don’t assume he’s asleep, but go off all the drug references and think he’s tripping, it still all holds up. The bluebird, space travel on bicycles, cut up images of himself, people as spoons, being up on the roof.
Dreams are a mirror of the subconscious, so these are all symbols. With the mention of the horoscope, the notion of being connected to more than what we see before us, encourages reading between the lines. The bluebird that he isn’t, but dreams of being. One that flies over the rainbow, where his lover is, in his rainbow paradise. In his (day)dreams, he’s always with his lover, or at least always close enough to spoon. He’s free to ride his bicycle wherever he wants. Sometimes his dreams are disturbing, too, where pictures of him are cut up. Maybe because he wants them to be, maybe because others do. Maybe because some people just want his picture and have no regard for who he is at the core - but he’s also past fretting about it, because he has his loved-up phone calls and daydreams to return to.
Again, we have mentions of drugs, of substance use, especially in the context of missing the other. Grapejuice is this one’s lazy sister, in that respect. Where Grapejuice is simmering in daydreams and melancholy, Daylight is spinning off to joyful images of a glorious dream. Though, just like in Grapejuice, there’s the knowledge that the lover is there, albeit not physically, and their relationship is secure. There’s no yearning for more love - not counting attention - only a future where he can live forever in their rainbow paradise, and not only visit it in private or in his dreams. Where the substances used function as a distraction from missing his lover, on a primary level, they also symbolise that need to escape reality once in a while. The desire to fly away. The lover is the “antidote” to a life that can be painful and hard to live. They have to make do with how their lives separate them sometimes, spending time on different continents, calling at all hours to work around time zones and schedules. Perhaps they send a nude photo here and there. Sometimes they just have to accept the fact that they have to be quick, be in contact in short bursts (“I’ll take one to go”) and that the lover sometimes simply doesn’t have time to pick up the phone at all hours of the day.
But, of course, that won’t stop him. Harry is in his I-have-fully-accepted-that-I-am-a-needy-lover era, he’s flaunting it, he’s proud of it, even. Honestly, power to him. His neediness simply isn’t always answered, and that’s also okay. He then resorts to daydreaming. Or yk, the odd substance to use here and there.

“NEW YORK, ARE you feeling well and emotionally stable?” Harry Styles asked on the opening weekend of his historic 15-night stand at Madison Square Garden. When the entire crowd roared “Noooo,” he replied, “Good!” We can’t say he didn’t warn us. He kicked off his NYC Love on Tour residency with a riotous two-night celebration of mega-pop rapture at its most ecstatic. “Please feel free to do whatever you want to do in this room tonight,” Harry told the fans on Night Two. “Within reason.” It was a perfect intro, because the concept of “within reason” does not exist anywhere in the Harry cosmology—he couldn’t even say it with a straight face. Let’s just say this man is not doing wonders for the city’s emotional stability right now.
Styles is trying a new mode of touring, celebrating his blockbuster Harry’s House with extended residencies in New York, Austin, Chicago and L.A. As he told Rolling Stone’s Brittany Spanos in our brand new cover story, it’s a way to perform without the energy-sucking strains of travel. You can tell Harry’s in town, by the trail of feathers and sequins for blocks around—a touch of glam in the dog days of summer. NYC in August is usually a place people are desperate to escape, but he makes it seem like the most romantic destination on the planet.
Harry’s residency starts almost exactly 8 years after the first time I saw him onstage with One Direction, August 2014 at MetLife Stadium. It’s unmistakable how so much has changed about this guy, but not the weirdest thing—his pure devotion to Too Much All The Time. He thrives on an absurd drive to give his energy away, to bombard every corner of the room with the joy he gets from music, no matter how huge that room might be. As he sings in the show-opener “Daydreaming,” he wants to give you something to dream about. And he does, from the tubular-bells synth groove of “As It Was” to the destructo-punk headbang of “Kiwi.”
He took the stage to jazz pianist Bill Evans’ “Peace Piece,” which (as he told Rolling Stone in 2019) was his longtime wake-up ritual. The music was overlaid with the voice of Buddhist scholar Alan Watts, saying, “This sensation of being a separate lonely individual is a hallucination.” Watts is talking about the soul breaking free of “our phony feeling that we are something lonely locked up in a bag of skin.” But it’s also a perfect description of live music at its best: a room full of strangers from different cultures, countries, generations, breaking free to become part of something vast and strange and slightly scary. And a Harry show IS live music at its best.
One of the coolest fan signs in the pit: “Pose if you can see this.” Guess he saw it? Because this vixen never stopped wiggling, twirling, swooshing down the catwalk, giving high kicks like a Rockette with the rent due. This set is almost all uptempo bangers, mostly from Harry’s House. He’s going for a festively manic vibe, so you don’t mind him leaving out the ballads. (No “Falling,” “Cherry,” “Fine Line,” not even “Lights Up.”) It’s a super-emotional show, even without the sad songs, because the will to uplift never quits. The mood was summed up in the great moment where his guitar boogie “Cinema” crashes into “Music For A Sushi Restaurant,” linked by the horn fanfare from the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.”
When he debuted these songs live in May, at his NYC One Night Only extravaganza, his excitement was off the rails—he ended the show by doing “As It Was” twice, a totally unexpected and unplanned move, because he just didn’t want it to end. (At his very first NYC show, in 2017, it was “Kiwi” he did twice.) As he says in the Rolling Stone cover story, that moment was startling even for him. As he said, “I kind of felt like, ‘All right, I’ve seen how crazy it can get.’ And I think there was something about it where I was … not terrified, but I just needed a minute. Because I wasn’t sure what it was. Just that the energy felt insane.” That’s how this show feels all the way through.
It’s his first time at the Garden since his HarryWeen blow-out last October. He’s back to performing in the round, or as he elegantly put it, “I’m gonna be in the middle of you all night!” This stage set means he has to cover more space, but nobody loves covering space like he does. He explained, “Sometimes we’re gonna be face-to-face, eye-to-eye, window-to-soul. If I’m not facing you, you’ll be looking ass to face. If you have a preference, face or ass, let me know.” He gallantly promised to distribute his ass evenly, saying, “I can assure you there is plenty to go around. Which leads me to the introduction to this very sad song.” (Who else could get away with using an ass-to-face disclaimer as a lead-in to a ballad as heart-wrenching as “Matilda”? This man only.)
As always, he took special joy in roasting all the dads in the audience. On Night 2, he announced a new innovation. “It’s called Golf Dad Cam,” he said. “We’re gonna find the golf dads. Its like Kiss Cam, except nobody wants to kiss them, because they’re golf dads!” He found 30 victims to mortify on the video screen, then proclaimed, “At the end of these shows, they’re gonna erect a banner in Madison Square Garden in honor of the golf dads. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the bottom of your tucked-in polo-shirt hearts.”
(Note: Can you imagine if Harry played the Super Bowl halftime show? It would take hours because he’d have 70,000 golf dads in the house, and he’d need to make fun of every single one of them. They’d have to cancel the damn game.)
On Night 1, a fan held up a sign asking for advice: her ex just texted her after seven years. Harry took her phone to call the ex, Josh. (“It’s ALWAYS Josh, isn’t it?”) When Josh immediately hung up on him, Harry told her, “I wish you all the happiness. Just not with Josh. There’s someone else out there who will treat you with respect and love you for who you are. Never Josh!” At the end of the show, he told the crowd, “Make some noise for Josh, whatever kind of noise you want to make.”
Harry’s House was made in pandemic isolation, so it’s a trip to hear how the songs open up live. The album’s most ethereally beautiful moments—“Daylight,” “Keep Driving,” the peerless “Satellite”—turn into full-blown glitz-rockers, thanks to his all-star band: guitar god Mitch Rowland, drum guru Sarah Jones, percussion master Pauli Lovejoy,  keyboardist Ny Oh, bassist Elin Sandberg, keyboardist Yaffra, and a jazzy four-piece horn section. On Sunday night, he busted out “Medicine,” really treating the microphone like a gentleman. At one point he paused so he could point out to Mitch and Sarah a t-shirt in the crowd that said “Bitch for Mitch.” (A category that pretty much included us all.)
He ended with the rock & roll mosh-pit raunch of “Kiwi,” a song that never fails to make strong buildings quiver in terror—both nights, it turned the floor of Madison Square Garden into Jell-O. Has anyone ever made a “Kiwi” supercut of Harry’s faces at the line “such an actress”? He gives a different actress every night, and its always an Oscar-worthy star turn. You also gotta love how he always says “get home safe” right before dropping “Kiwi” on our heads—it’s like telling someone “have a nice day” before setting them on fire.
“Grapejuice” isn’t in the set, probably because of its tonsil-trashing high notes, but maybe it’ll be the “To Be So Lonely” of this tour—the fan fave that sneaks into the show by popular demand. On Night 1, he teased an instrumental snippet while introducing the band—just a little edging. FWIW, when Paul McCartney hit the road this summer for his Got Back tour, he surprised fans by busting out the slightly similar Wings groove “Let ‘Em In.” Could this mean that Sir Paul is a “Grapejuice” head himself?
Harry slowed it down for his two most soulful ballads: “Sign of the Times” and the new “Matilda.” They feel spiritually linked—two poetic songs about trauma, grief, and rebirth. “Sign of the Times” is a communal anthem that gets mightier the more strangers you sing it with—in a way, that’s what the song is about. (I thought I already loved that song in 2017, but it’s built to be lived with over the years.) Yet “Matilda” is so intimate, it’s still disorienting to hear it in a crowded room. It’s a song designed for fans to access their most private selves, in a public, supportive space. Some spent “Matilda” having a meditative moment to themselves. Others let it all hang out, like the weepy group hug in front of me, with eight chosen sisters singing together. But everybody became part of the story. It’s the kind of moment Harry lives to generate.
He’d be the first to say that the audience creates these moments, and he just shows up to be part of it. But either way, the New York shows were a nonstop rush of those moments. You spend a couple of hours in this environment, and the outside world looks a little brighter when you leave, because you take that feeling with you. It’s a revelation that enthusiasm is everything.  Somehow, a 15-night stand of Harry Styles seems like it could never be enough.

Foresight ~ ch. 1
A/N : hey y’all, this is the very first chapter! please let me know what you think of it, feedback is greatly appreciated :) love Anna
Tumblr media
You were so fucking excited for the concert.
Maggie and you had been saving up for a trip to Europe during spring break and were floored to get to go. It also helped that her father had been kind enough to take you girls with him on his company jet since he had a meeting in Germany (CEO of one of the biggest companies had its perks).
After Maggie and you had parted ways with him, you both spent a few days traveling around Darmstadt when Maggie got a call from her father saying one of his colleagues had gotten concert tickets to a show in Basel for his daughter’s birthday but she wasn’t going to be able to make it and gave them to him for Mags instead.
“Ya dad, what’s up?—no way really? Of course we’ll go! Okay, tell him thank you for us!”
“You got concert tickets.” You stated, after taking a sip of your lemonade you bought from the small German woman that had been selling them at the farmer’s market you both stumbled across.
Maggie rolled her eyes at you, “I can never surprise you can I?!” You laughed, “Sorry! It’s not like I can help it.” “I know, you’ve got your super psychic abilities that unables me to throw you a surprise birthday party!” She exclaimed, then blew a raspberry as if to prove her disappointment.
You were psychic, sort of. Your parents first noticed it when you would say the delivery line of a joke in sync with the late show host of whatever was playing on the TV.
At first, they thought you must have heard it beforehand but then it just kept happening during things they knew were new airings. You also were never surprised, ever. Which probably was a bit of a bummer but it’s not like you knew any different. The moment they knew you had some sort of ability was during your middle school’s raffle at a spirit week fundraiser.
They both watched in awe as you recited the 8 number combination of the winning ticket before it had been drawn.
After that significant event, they took you to a doctor who referred you to a colleague that dealt with psychological abilities. They were the ones to inform your parents you basically just knew things before others could. It couldn’t be classified till you got older and even if you did more tests, it wouldn’t do anything so you’re parents just decided to leave it at that.
You weren’t conscious of yourself doing it when you were young but as you got older, you could catch yourself thinking about something like it’s going to rain in 8 minutes and 36 seconds or I feel really bad that the little girl just dropped her ice-cream just seconds before it happened.
Well, it was a great party trick to use at uni shindigs.
Maggie smiled as a notification popped up on her phone. “Dad just sent over the concert tickets, let's go to the train station and see if we can get a ride straight to Basel.”
Fortunately, you both had your suitcases with you since you were originally going further down the road to France and then Switzerland, but oh well, you could just reroute. Both you and Maggie were buzzed to be able to go see a concert on your trip and didn’t hesitate to change your plans.
It was easy to find the station and after a bit of horrible German from Maggie to the ticket booth woman, you both had boarding tickets to Basel.
“I’m really excited to see Harry Styles, the new album is really good.” You said as you both settled into a train booth and hoisted the suitcases to the overhead compartment.
“I never told you— oh never mind, yeah I’m pumped! These tickets are for the floor so you bet your ass we’re squishing our way to the front. I’m too damn short to be anywhere else!” You chuckled at her statement.
You started humming the melody of a song that had been stuck in your head all afternoon and scrolled through some pictures on your phone and decided to post something on Instagram.
The ride was uneventful, plus a great time to book a room on Airbnb and catch a small nap before the concert that night. Maggie and you took a cab from the train station to the lovely home you were spending the night in, or rather the spare guest home that was in the backyard.
It was a fantastic find since most motels had been already booked for other spring breakers, apparently, the couple that was supposed to stay that night had to cut their trip short cause the man’s sister was going into labor in London.
Well, that’s what the elderly lady—Martha call me Martha— said as she took you girls to the back house.
While Mags rummaged through her clothes looking for something to wear, you very graciously flopped onto the king bed that was pressed to the back wall.
Her head popped up from the other side of the case, “What are you gonna wear Y/N?” She stood up with a sequin pink top stretched out between her to hands to examine it, “I’m thinking this sparkle top thing I shoved in my bag last minute and my black denim skirt.”
You let out a whine and sat up, “Yeah that will look nice, I’m thinking I’ll wear my Ramones t-shirt and some high waisted blue jeans—ya know the ones that make my ass look fantastic?”
Your bubbly brunette friend nodded her head excitedly at you and then suggested getting a quick bite to eat before the show. “We’ve got several hours to kill before.” After you got dinner, you headed down the street to a small bakery that you snapped a photo of to post later and got some goodies to snack on.
Maggie moaned as she chewed her Mandelgipfel, and you unwrapped one of the Biberlis you purchased. On the walk back, you thought about the setlist (which you had conveniently pulled up on your phone to see what you’d be watching).
“I’m really excited to hear Carolina, he sings like he’s sex on legs during that song.” She told you as she threw her napkin into the bin as she walked by.
You threw your head back and laughed, Maggie could sure be blunt sometimes, you thought to yourself.
Once back at the AirBnB, it was a bit of a mad dash to get ready. You did your favorite makeup and a good hairdo that would last threw all the headbanger songs. Mags went with space buns and bright pink eyeshadow to “match her sparkle shirt of course!”
Before you knew it, the pair of you took a cab to the concert center and were into the venue without a hassle.
“Excuse me! So sorry, trying to get through!” Maggie demanded as she pushed through the crowd, her 4th beer in one hand and yours in the other, having a pushy small friend has its perks. Somehow, you don’t really know how (too busy trying to make sure your vodka didn’t spill) she managed to get you both to the very front of the stage.
People in black were on various parts of the stage, clipboards in hand. Some had walkie talkies and would speak into them every so often, you wondered how they could hear a response with such a loud crowd.
Maggie and you finished your drinks and put them into the bin over the barrier that was thankfully just an arms reach away. A few minutes later, the lights went dark and everyone started to cheer. Mags leaned over to you, “I think Mabel is coming on!”
The songs Mabel played were fun and the pair of y’all bounced to the beat of God Is A Dancer, the girl bowed and finally the rubric cube showed above on the large screen.
Screams filled the arena, you hollered while your friend jumped up screaming like a preteen.
And then there he was.
Only Angel was fantastic, and Harry looked amazing. He was decked out in a black sequin jacket and pants that shined with every minuscule movement the man made. It was jaw-dropping, to say the least.
After you jammed to Woman, snapped a picture during Ever Since New York, and rocked with Maggie to Two Ghosts, he took a pause to speak with the crowd.
“‘ello! ’m Harry Styles, nice to meet you.” The crowd erupted in cheers. “It’s lov’ly to see all your beautiful faces t’night, ‘m so glad you could make it t’ the show!”
“This next song is one of my favorites to perform, this is Carolina.”
Maggie nearly had a heart attack when he said the first syllable, and you were having a blast as well. Also good to note that yes, Maggie was right, he does look like walking sex when he performs that song (but I mean, when does he not).
You were mesmerized by the way he owned the stage, like it was his lover. You closed your eyes and rolled your body to the beat.
As the song ended, Harry seemed a little jittery which intrigued you, just a moment ago he seemed so confident. Maybe it’s because he’s nervous to perform his new songs.
Wait, what?
“— and uh, we’ve never play this before, this is a new one, this one’s called Medicine.” Maggie and you looked at each other with wide eyes and screamed with the crowd as well, the vodka was starting to kick in and your mind was floating in bliss.
Here to take my medicine, take my medicine
Treat you like a gentleman
Give me that adrenaline, that adrenaline
Think I'm gonna stick with you
Here to take my medicine, take my medicine
Rest it on your fingertips
Up to your mouth, feeling it out
Feeling it out
You were singing along with the song having a grand o’l time of it, what you didn’t realize is that Maggie was standing next to you, staring at you with the pikachu surprise face.
She grabbed your shoulder, “You know the lyrics?!” You looked at her with a mild expression, “ya? Don’t you? It’s what I was humming on the train.”
I had a few, got drunk on you and now I'm wasted
And when I sleep I'm gonna dream of how you—
“—TASTED!” You yelled up during the pause. Immediately you knew something was up when Harry’s head snapped over to look right at you. You were the only one to scream that to him. “Oh, fuck! Nobody else knows this do they?!”
If you go out tonight, I'm going out 'cause I know you're persuasive
You got the salt and I got me an appetite; now I can taste it
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy
La la la la la
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy, oh
You said to Maggie as people around you gave you a funny side-eye. She shook her head and laughed. “It’s no fair that you were jamming to this hours before I was!” It’s whatever, just enjoy the show Y/N!
Tingle running through my blood, fingers to my toes
Tingle running through my bones
The boys and the girls are here
I mess 'round a bit
And I'm okay with it
The boys and girls are here
I'm messing 'round with them
And I'm okay with it
As you went back to dancing, your fuzzy state of mind didn’t seem to register that a certain singer was watching you as you sang every lyric with him.
Oh god, there must have been a leak somewhere, Harry thought as he finished the chorus.
I'm coming down, I figured out I kinda like it
And when I sleep I'm gonna dream of how you—
“—Ride it!” You yelled out subconsciously. Fuck I did it again! You thought.
Harry couldn’t believe it, there you were, in the front row acting like nothing was strange about you yelling out lyrics he had purposely not sung. He kept going and let his eyes skitter around the crowd of people close to you.
If you go out tonight, I'm going out 'cause I know you're persuasive
You got the salt and I got me an appetite; now I can taste it
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy, oh
La la la la la
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy, oh
They seem just as confused as I do, so luckily, maybe it’s a fresh leak that can be fixed quickly. God, I’m going to have to get a new laptop aren’t I? How are people so damn good at hacking, Harry thought.
I had a few, got drunk on you and now I'm wasted
The rockstar shook his head and waved his hands during the ending of the lyrics. The lights went out and he took a deep breath. It’ll be fine.
If you go out tonight, I'm going out 'cause I know you're persuasive
You got the salt and I got me an appetite; now I can taste it
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy, oh
La la la la la
You get me dizzy, oh, you get me dizzy, oh
The song ended and the concert attendees roared with praise of hearing a “supposedly” unreleased song. Maggie pulled you down into a crouch as she saw the singer looking with hawk eyes over the area they stood.
“Y/N, He totally heard you! And I don’t think he’s too happy about it.” You both slowly stood up to see him walking over to Mitch, his guitarist and whisper something in his ear. The man in question looked over to where you were and it made you die a tiny bit inside.
Oh god, I really hope I’m not in trouble.
Surprisingly, you hadn’t ever gotten into a bad situation because of your psychic abilities, it always helped most of the time, like when you were able to stop your friend from running around a corner of a building, not knowing a bicyclist was racing down it; Saved her and the cyclist from a bad crash.
Now, feeling the eyes of multiple, very important people, made you think this was revenge for all the times you did a good deed. Ugh, I thought karma was supposed to reward good deeds! Not punish them!
Everything seemed to return to normal as Harry started Meet Me In The Hallway, then chatting with a couple fans, sang Sweet Creature, a lucky catch of a lavender bra which he quickly threw back out, and then If I Could Fly, everything was fine and dandy.
Till he announced the next song.
“This song is called Anna, and it’s new. 1,2,3,4!”
As the intro played, Harry kept an eye on you. There was no way you could know this one, they had never recorded it in the studio, only practice. If you did, oh god he didn’t even want to think about it.
Don't know where you're laying, just know it's not with me
Don't know what I'd tell you if I passed you on the street
Okay, it seems fine right now, she’s not singing along, just dancing with her friend as she said something to her. He continued.
I don't want your sympathy
But you don't know what you do to me
Oh, Anna
Fuck. There you were, pretending to have an invisible mic in your hand and belting out the lyrics. He watched for a moment as your brown-haired friend grabbed you by the arm and ‘discreetly’ nodded her head up to him. Wait, did you look surprised that you were singing along too?
Every time I see your face
There's only so much I can take
Oh, Anna
“Oh my god I did it again Maggie! He’s gonna call security isn’t he, and then I’ll be taken down to the station and locked away because he’s rich and famous and I’ll never see the light of day again!” You cried.
Don't know how you taste when there's smoke in your perfume
So chew me up and spit me out, nothing left to lose
I don't want your sympathy
But you don't know what you do to me
Oh, Anna
Every time I see your face
There's only so much I can take
Oh, Anna
Mags took hold of your chin and pulled you down to her face, “It’s alright, we’ll figure it out Y/N, plus they might just check online to see if someone had put up a recording beforehand that they didn’t know about and they’ll just think you’re a crazy dedicated fan. I really don’t think Harry Styles is going to lock you up for knowing his songs.”
You let out a large breath and nodded at her. You purposely kept your mouth shut during the next chorus, not wanting his eyes on you for a bad reason again.
I don't want your sympathy
But you don't know what you do to me
Oh, Anna
Every time I see your face
There's only so much I can take
Oh, Anna
Hope you never hear this and know that it's for you
I don't know what I'd tell you if you asked me for the truth
I don't want your sympathy
But youll never know what you do to me
Oh, Anna
Every time I see your face
There's only so much I can take
Oh, Anna
Some guy behind you pushed forward, causing you to squish into the barrier. It distracted you enough that when you looked up, Harry Styles and you were having a little duet.
Well I guess it would be nice
If I could touch your body
If I could touch your body
If I could touch your body
If I could touch your body
That’s it, how the FUCK does she know that part? Harry and the band had only decided to add it to the song yesterday for a fun spin-off of a classic. He was starting to freak out inside but oddly enough, it looked like she was too.
I don't want your sympathy
But you’ll never know what you do to me
Oh, Anna
Every time I see your face
There's only so much I can take
Oh, Anna
The song ended and you whipped around to face the crowd rather than him, back still pressed to the barrier. “Maggie I’m so screwed.” She put her hand on your shoulder and whispered to you, “Are there any more surprise songs?”
You shook your head, “The setlist is altered a bit but that’s it. Wait, why do I know that?!”
You leaned your head back and looked to the ceiling, “Maggie, my psychic-ness isn’t usually this strong? I guess is the word?"—you looked at her—“why is it so easy to just know this stuff because of him?”
The space bunned brunette only shrugged. “Let's just enjoy the rest of the show, ‘kay?” You nodded and turned back around only to be met with an intense stare from the man on stage, but the stare wasn’t mad—more a confused look, which surprised you.
The rest of the show went very well. Maggie nearly burst into tears when she heard his rendition of TWMYB and then Sign Of The Times. His encore was phenomenal and you sang your head off to The Chain and rocked your socks off to Kiwi.
“Thank you eve’yone!” Was the last thing shouted out by the singer as he left the stage, but not without sparing you one last glance.
“Let’s try and get out of here as fast as possible.” Maggie agreed and hand in hand you weaved your way through the crowd.
Just as you thought you made it home free, a security guard stopped you.
“Ma’am, if you would please follow me. You’re needed backstage.”
Your stomach dropped, oh no.
telephone hour for this chapter

let me know what you think!

The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen: “This record saved my life”
The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen faces your questions about lost friends, life in quarantine and her band’s new album
Four years on from their last album, The Pretty Reckless return in the face of personal loss and depression for the follow-up, Death By Rock And Roll. In the meantime, we challenged frontwoman Taylor Momsen to answer your burning questions on the band’s new era, making dream collaborations come true and… really rubbish tigers?
What can you tell us about how the new album is sounding? Debbie Smith (email)
“Awesome! I’m ecstatic for people to hear it. It’s been a long time coming and we’ve been sitting on music waiting to put it out, it’s been torturous. I don’t want to say too much but I am very confident with this album – in a lot of ways, this might be our best album yet; it’s very much a rebirth for this band and it feels like the first record in a lot of ways. I know to my core that I’m extraordinarily proud of what we’ve accomplished on this album, it’s a new chapter in the band’s life. This record saved my life and I’m really excited to share it.”
If you could collaborate with anyone on a future album who would it be and why? Jenni Owens (email)
“I don’t know because I don’t think of music like that, I think collaborations have to come about organically and in these modern times of streaming, collaborations are used more as a marketing tool than an actual artistic statement and I don’t really like that. I very rarely collaborate with people, but I say that just as I got to collaborate on this new album with some amazing people like Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil of Soundgarden on a song called Only Love Can Save Me Now, which we recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle where Soundgarden made Louder Than Love, Pearl Jam made Ten and Alice In Chains recorded there. It’s such an iconic space, so being there with those guys and hearing the song I wrote come to life with them playing it was one of the best experiences of my life. The collaboration came about in a really natural way through a lot of tragedy; we were opening for them on that last tour before Chris Cornell passed and that created a bond. We also have a song, And So It Went, that features Tom Morello playing the guitar solo – again that was such an amazing artistic collaboration. When I wrote the song, he immediately came to mind as a voice that could really express the concept, the lyrics and the point of the song and really take it to another level and he certainly does; when he comes in, it’s undeniably Tom Morello and it’s awesome!”
What do you think of them rebooting your old TV show Gossip Girl? Danielle Harris (email)
“I’m curious to see it! Social media and technology has changed so much since that show first aired so it’ll be interesting to see what they do with it. I remember on the show, they used to periodically give your character a new phone and it was still flip phones when it started… now everyone’s glued to iPhones and you feel like you’re dying without a smartphone. The social commentary alone will be interesting to see how they take that and bring it into the modern life we’re all living in.”
What did 2020 teach you? @immortalevfan (Twitter)
“It’s taught me patience, which I think I had a pretty good handle on ahead of 2020 but it certainly has tested my boundaries of how patient I can be. It’s taught me to appreciate the small things that we overlook in life – if we were on tour right now, I wouldn’t be getting to spend time with my tiny dog ,who’s very old, before she’s inevitably going to pass. I’ve been enjoying the little moments of being at home because the rest of my life has always been a whirlwind and was always on the go, so now there’s no other option but to reflect on your own thoughts and your own life.”
Would you rather have an army of badass ducks or one really crap tiger? James Brian Fitzgerald (Facebook)
“Can’t it be one badass tiger or a load of ducks? I’m kind of a solitude, isolated person; I have very few friends but the friendships I have go deep. Because a lot of ducks seems a little overwhelming, I think I want one tiger but I’d have to get him on the game. He just needs a little sensei training; I’ll give him a Soundgarden record and we’ll be on the same page. I’ll reform that tiger!”
Who in the music industry was most helpful to you taking your first steps and adapting into that world? Jane McAhrane (email)
“I have to give credit to my managers who I’ve been with for a very long time, they’ve always supported my visions and always had my back, but I think the main people are in the band. It started when I first met Ben [Phillips], our guitarist and my songwriting partner, and our producer Kato at the same time. There was an undeniable chemistry and magic that you can’t duplicate – it was something otherworldly, if you believe in that kind of thing. It was a defining moment in my life. Through that, I met Mark Damon [bass] and Jamie Perkins [drums]. When we all came together and made the decision to see where this was going to go, quit our jobs and I quit acting, we really jumped in with both feet. The support, camaraderie and the way we looked at music and life, everything about it is amazing.”
In your opinion, has having the career in acting helped or hindered the public perception and success of the band? And how long do you think it took for people to see you as a musician rather than the actress who has a band? Matt Heeks (Facebook)
“I think it was a combination of both a hindrance that we had to overcome and a slight help to the press side. In the beginning it certainly helped get our name out there because I was known for something else and I was living in a tabloid world at the time, so it spread the band’s name around, but I don’t think it contributed anything to the actuality of what it is to be a band, to make music and to be successful at that – having your name written in a bunch of articles doesn’t validate anything. I think the people who gave the album a chance without judging it with a pre- existing notion and went in with an open mind, they noticed pretty quickly. The rest of the world took a while to see this for what it was. There’s no facade, it’s just who we are as people.”
Do you think we are more likely to cry or headbang during the new album? @xxrecklesstayxx (Twitter)
“I think you’ll get a bit of both! There’s a very full spectrum on this record; it starts in the dark and ends in the light and it really takes you on a journey. If the first half doesn’t work for you, you’ll find something in the second half and vice versa. It encapsulates everything we’ve been through since the last time we were out and about in the world. A lot of this record was made due to how much tragedy and loss that suddenly thrust itself upon our lives in a short amount of time, from Chris Cornell’s passing to our producer Kato Khandwala [who died following a motorcycle crash in 2018]. [Kato] was my best friend on the planet and that was the nail in the coffin for me. I went down into a hole of depression and substance abuse and I didn’t know how to get out of it; it was music that saved me, it pulled me out and made me want to keep going. Writing this record was all I had left and I think you can really hear that on the album.”
What do you miss most about touring? Aimee Baker (email)
“I miss you guys, the fans! I’m going through show withdrawal, I miss being onstage with my best friends and cranking the amps, screaming into microphones and never really knowing what’s going on. I miss the whole energy of live shows because there’s nothing like it; it’s a drug and there’s nothing that competes with it. Being in the studio and writing gives you a different substantial kind of high that lasts forever, whereas shows are just one night but you can’t beat that one night.”
Any plans to release an acoustic album of any of your songs or covers? @Jmj2022 (Twitter)
“No specific plans but it’s certainly something we’ve been talking about for years now at this point. Because we haven’t been able to get together as a band plugged in, I’ve been doing a lot of acoustic stuff from home. We just released a piano version of House On A Hill, which is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and I think that turned out really beautiful. I’ve got to work with some amazing friends and musicians; Alain Johannes and I covered Chris Cornell’s The Keeper together, I also got to work with Matt Cameron and we recorded Halfway There by Soundgarden. Things are happening that wouldn’t have come about if we were on tour.”

1D songs rated by how much I want to hear MCR cover them
wmyb - I’m actually lowkey wondering how that would sound tbh, 7/10
gotta be you - if gerard doesn’t have the vocal range for the chorus, I would rather have him not strain himself, 2/10, but if he does, 6/10, I’m intrigued
one thing - I wouldn’t mind a cover of this one, 4/10
more than this - ooh yes, but there’s a 90% chance i’d cry, 7/10
uan - the way this song is, an mcr cover would probably sound lit, 9/10
i wish - and make me cry and drown myself in tears? 3/10
tell me a lie - change screwed up to fucked up and it’s a deal, 6/10
taken - the only reason i don’t start feeling Sad while listening to this song bc I’m so used to it, if mcr covered it i would be Ugly Sobbing, 5/10
i want - okay that would sound lit, 7/10
everything about you - okay this song is kinda boring ngl, mcr could spice things up, 9/10
same mistakes - this one already gives me existential crisis without thinking about an mcr cover, 7/10
save you tonight - I’m indifferent, it would probably sound lit tho 5/10
stole my heart - dunno if it would work as well while being sung by a guy literally the same age as my mom as it does while being sung by a (in the recording) group of boys aged between 17 and 20 - 1/10
stand up - SO PUT YOUR HANDS UP COZ IT’S A STAND UP, basically it’s an armed robbery, 5/10
moments - the subtle hinting at the fact everyone in this song dies,, fun fact that would just instantly kill me, 100000000/10, I would Cry but it would be worth it
another world - I rather would not be taken to ‘another world’ ‘every day’ ‘in every way’ by mcr, thank you very much 0/10
na na na - the cover would be worth it just for the title confusion, so yes, yes please, 10/10
i should have kissed you - the regret in the original’s is not Expressed At All, 7/10, fuck me up mcr
lwwy - i mean it would probably sound good, but lets be real, mcr doesn’t exactly fit the vibe of this song, 4/10, just because it lowkey has danger days vibes (i listened to it three times in a row before, I know what vibes danger days has)
kiss you - i’m torn between the fact that this is targeted at teen girls and sang by barely not underage anymore boys, and the fact the cover would probably sound lit 5/10
little things - it’s,,, too soft for mcr,,, 0/10
c’mon c’mon - eh, I’m indifferent to that one, 5/10
last first kiss - this one gives me an existential crisis and makes me Sad already, 8/10
heart attack - just for the ow! part, and also for the 1D just doesn’t do emotions right in this one, 7/10
rock me - in summer ‘09, they were literal babies, I’m fairly certain 16 year old harry styles did NOT fuck, mcr did shit other than going to school in 2009, and they probably fucked and this song is just one big innuendo, 7/10
change my mind - ah another song that would probably make me cry, 6/10
i would - idk, a song about high school drama? 1/10
over again - stabbing me would be more merciful than an mcr cover, 10/10
back for you - this one hits differently when you hear 1D promising they’ll come back for the fandom, And with the reunion rumours going around, it wouldn’t sound right if mcr did a cover, 2/10
they don’t know about us - unlike the original, it would make me cry, because it remind me of my gf, 3/10, covers of songs that remind me of my gf that would make me cry are illegal
summer love - the 1D version didn’t kill me, but the mcr version definitely would, 5/10
she’s not afraid - I’m actually kinda curious about what the cover would sound like, 8/10
loved you first - another one I kinda want to hear mcr’s cover of, 7/10
nobody compares - this one is either boring or it’s getting late, either way, mcr would spice it up, 7/10
still the one - it’s a bop already, 5/10
truly madly deeply - soft and tender and,,, can mcr do soft and tender? I mean, probably, but their songs that sound soft and tender end up in people in the song dying, 2/10
magic -THERE’S A 99.99999% CHANCE THE MCR COVER WOULD BE LIT, 219833/10
irresistible - mcr’s cover would make me cry and i’d thank them 8/10
bse - despite the title, not the best song ever out there (home is the best), and mcr could definitely improve it, 8/10
soml - the chorus starts, but with more SCREAMING, 8/10, sometimes you just want a soft song to have more yelling
diana - could be good, but really, I’m indifferent to it, 5/10
midnight memories - the fact 1D says 'same old shhh' instead of 'same old shit' is so unsatisfying, mcr would fix that, 10/10
you & i - yeah, just make me cry or whatever, 6/10, I’m already feeling like a trainwreck
don’t forget where you belong - that would be nice but it would also make me cry, 7/10
strong - the intro keeps reminding me one of the mcr songs and idk which one, probably famous last words, and it’s bothering me, 5/10
happily - I have no objections to this one, 9/10
right now - it would probably make me cry too much to handle, 2/10
little black dress - I’m kinda curious about this one honestly, it’s already a lot more rock than some other songs and I wouldn’t mind a cover, 6/10
through the dark - idk why, but I would definitely pay for an mcr version of this song, 10/10
something great - this one already gives me Feelings, I don’t think I could handle the mcr cover, 1/10
little white lies - it’s an okay song but really, I don’t need an mcr cover of it, 0/10
better than words - mcr wouldn’t censor fuck, 5/10
why don’t we go there - i’m actually running out of ideas of how to express what I want to say about this song, but basically, it would sound good but I don’t think it’s on the priority list, 2/10
does he know - i learnt that gerard is the same age as my mom so I legally can’t listen to him sing about sex while addressing the listener like that, 0/10
alive - it would be a headbanger, 10/10
half a heart - and make me cry even more than I cry while listening to the original? 2/10
steal my girl - not really something I’d want or need covered by mcr -10/10
ready to run - this song made me make this post, a clear 10/10
where do broken hearts go - I mean I’d probably cry, but I’d love to hear a cover, 7/10
18 - it makes me feel similar as songs from bullets or three cheers do, but on the other hand, this song already makes me sad and is crying so much I fill the ocean with my tears worth it? 5/10, probably
girl almighty - it would probably sound fun, I wouldn’t mind there being a cover, 5/10
fool’s gold - do you want me to cry? because that’s how to make me cry, no but also please/10
night changes - an existential crisis sounds nice in these trying times (not), 3/10
no control - it would be okay, I guess, 3/10
fireproof - why not, 5/10
spaces - another one presumably about the break up, it just wouldn’t Hit the same if mcr covered it, 2/10
stockholm syndrome - oh, please, that sounds like it would make a lit cover, 8/10
clouds - why tf not, I’d love to hear what mcr would do with it, 9/10, fuck me up
change your ticket - I can’t think about this song without thinking about that one tik tok where 1D members pop up in the girl’s room when their parts start, imagine that with mcr, I would scream (in a not good way), 0/10
illusion - I wouldn’t mind a cover, but really I don’t know what I’d do with it, 1/10
once in a lifetime - this song already makes me cry, I wouldn’t be able to handle an mcr cover, 3/10
act my age - heheh why not, it would make a fun cover, 8/10
hey angel - I wouldn’t mind a cover, so why not, 6/10 (would I cry? you can’t prove anything)
drag me down - I can see it being a good cover now that I think of it, 8/10
perfect - kinda curious how that would sound, 8/10
infinity - only if mcr is willing to pay for and play at my funeral, 8/10
end of the day - I wouldn’t mind an mcr cover if this one, but mostly I’m just indifferent, 5/10
if i could fly - the intro is too similar to cancer, and the original already makes me Cry, i would straight up get dehydrated and die from mcrying, but also, please 9/10
long way down - more mcrying, a whole party, 7/10
never enough - the cover would be probably pretty good, 6/10
olivia - it’s already a fun song to listen to, I wonder what the cower would sound like, 7/10
what a feeling - it has the potential to make me cry, 7/10, also it hits different in these times
love you goodbye - wanna see if they can be as tender as 1D is with this song,, 6/10
i want to write you a song - i don’t dare sending my gf mcr songs with the caption ‘that made me think of you’ in fear of the song having undertones of murder, collective death, nuclear winter or other dying stuff I haven’t noticed yet, this song is too soft, sorry mcr -10/10
history - it would most likely sound good, but it has a sentimental value that mcr just wouldn’t be able to capture, 1/10
temporary fix - HECK YES, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A SONG THAT WOULD SOUND GREAT AS AN MCR COVER, 475475837/10
walking in the wind - I wouldn’t mind a cover, 5/10
wolves - it would be worth it just for the confusion between this song and house of wolves in search results, 10/10, bc i enjoy chaos
am - the original is soft and there’s really barely any instrumental background for most of the song other than acoustic guitar, so I’m wondering what mcr would do with it, 6/10
home - how much do I have to pay to hear mcr cover that one? 1000/10, it’s my fav 1D song

Toronto – Inseln, (fake) Schlösser und … Deadpool? – Teil 2
Hello Headbangers and other Friends!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weiter ging es dann in Richtung Downtown:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wem´s gefällt...
Tumblr media
Oder auch am Royal Ontario Museum:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dort sahen wir diesen süßen Piepmatz:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genauso wie dieses coole Graffiti:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seht selbst!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lecker! (Happy Evchen inklusive!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soooooooo viele Mücken O.O
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Richtig gut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stay Trve \m/

his hug: meeting Ezra Miller
I remember watching, in passing, the recording of an oldies’ concert at my aunt’s—you know the one, sixties hair with girls losing their heads and minds for the Beatles or bands of equivalent caliber. “I want to be one of those screaming girls in the front row,” I was saying—wistful, trancelike, and feverish in a way your typical nonsensical fangirl can be. “It’s a dream. One day.”
And last night, actually standing there in front row, shaking my head and losing myself to Ezra Miller’s drumming, Lilah Larson’s voice and guitar, and Josh Aubrin’s keyboard playing, could never be more surreal.
I’d never been to a gig at a pub before. I was loitering in the front for a good two-three minutes, before gathering up my courage to wander inside.
Ordered a pint of Guinness (price was upped. But hey, it’s my way of paying for the Free Entry performance, I guess?), stood there sipping for a while until I caught eyes with a friendly-looking Korean girl. Her name is Soohee (Sonny), and we became fast friends, chatting and screaming about Ezra, the band, Doctor Who (Matt Smith), and, of course, Harry Styles (her phone wallpaper).
Tumblr media
Lilah walked past from behind Soohee, from the pub’s backdoor to their Reserved Area. She’s so cool, calm, and collected. I was in awe of the all-black get-up and the polished expression on her face. Josh had already passed, at some point (I don’t quite remember this), so Ezra was next. A few minutes later, there he was. Very in the zone. Just cutting straight through, behind us.
We were sitting there, and I regretted screaming a bit already—because I, on a rare occasion, had someone to scream with/to.
So we chatted and waited, and a queue formed before we realised, toward the front of the pub. I forgot the venue was in the basement. And people gathered. We went downstairs, managed to snatch second row seats, and waited for the longest time before the opening act, Jamie Lee, appeared on stage spewing quite decent (self-described as ‘mediocre’) poetry and an acapella song. He spent a few minutes prior to his start picking and choosing through his pile of papers—we were wondering what exactly he was up to.
Tumblr media
Think around almost an hour passed (my bad. I’m looking at the photo of the sign now and it’s there, in black and white, that the Sons were up at 9:30pm, not 9pm, as I’d thought.)—before the pub’s runner came out and placed mini water bottles at the front of the stage, by the drum kit (Ez!) and the keyboard.
I remember reading beforehand that they each would write a song and that each could play all their three instruments.
Was chatting animatedly to Soohee while waiting (taking a nap somewhat).
Then the bodyguard came out, followed by the Sons themselves. Just as they were about to start, he grabbed us both and dragged us out to the front.
Breathless with surprise was an understated description of us at that point.
No one was blocking our view. We were, quite literally, the girls in the front row. Dangerously. Intimately. Close to the band.
It was happening, and it was insane.
Live music has its perks, its charms. I, for one, had never thought I’d have a chance (and so close to me leaving dear old England, imagine that) I’d witness one of my favorite actors so immersed in his art, his band that I know he’s been in for 6-7 years, before my own eyes.
I wasn’t there just for Ezra, of course. I wasn’t. It’s the music, the band, and I’m not writing this as a post-mortem excuse to justify my presence there or manipulate my image either.
“Thank you, thank you for coming,” said Ezra, and he pulled out his phone, “This is so amazing. I’m going to take a picture of you guys.”
(Oh. God. So I made it—definitely did—into Ezra’s phone now, no joke. There’s that. Not bragging or anything, but there’s that.)
See, the guitar, blended with Lilah’s magnificent voice (the lush. The layers in her tone, her words, her caressing of those lyrics, the expressions. AH.), Josh’s upbeat, relentless keyboard playing, and Ezra’s powerhouse of a drumming, was a spectacle to behold, a glorious, glorious gift for the aural and visual senses.
Because they were so into it, because they were there and putting all of themselves into it.
Tumblr media
Ezra’s bringing the house down, the cymbals and the drumsticks and his face shaking to and fro while playing, contorted and screaming and eyes closed, so into the music.
Tumblr media
They broke into an acapella song in the middle (roughly) of the set, coming together at the front of the stage to sing a number about bringing down white supremacy and not stopping until the killing of black men is treated with the same respect and equality as that of the white. To which we all screamed, YES! HEY! YES!
I was holding my phone, and filming the clip, but I raised my arm up high, and screamed.
The rest of the time I was standing there, did some headbanging, closed my eyes, and just soaking it in, the experience, the music, the beats, the voices, losing myself to the music as much as they did.
Ezra took out his phone again at the end. No idea how these would turn out. I’m dying to see them though, fingers crossed should he (or the band!) ever post them.
It’s their first headlining gig outside North America (I know! My sun, my stars, my dreams. I thought I’d never….), after all.
Then came the part where we were a bit of idiots ourselves.
People crowded outside the Reserved Area after the show, waiting for Ezra. Some fans got quick selfies in and left, the rest of us were behind the crowd. He went outside (I saw Josh) for a smoke, not before saying something about (I might have been drinking Guinness on a semi-empty stomach) downstairs and arts and crafts.
So we waited at the exit for the longest time, until one of the security guys told us to go downstairs.
A crowd’s already there. We were quite late, and he’d have to leave soon.
But we stuck it out, and hung around the queue, waiting for our turn. A picture would be enough, we thought.
“Hi,” he said, his voice warm, eyes alert, when he got to me. Again, my coherence and articulation escaped me.
“Hi, hi,” I replied, and managed a, “You were so good!” to which he said, “Thank you!” (I ruminated on this for the longest time, as Soohee can attest, but I should have said: the band. Oh. Well.)
And then I asked:
“Can I get a hug?”
And you know, if you’d been reading this blog, that I’d never asked anyone I met for a hug at that point, until Ezra, whom last night was our second encounter (I thought this morning about how I should’ve told him about the press junket—but it’s not like he’d remember.) and whom I knew I could ask for one.
“Yes, of course!” Then he came in close, those muscled bear arms enveloping me. It was warm and pure and fizzy—and it wasn’t captured on camera, sure, but hug pics don’t always turn out recognizable. It’s two people, faceless, in an embrace, and only you are aware of the meaning behind the photo. (Drumroll.)
I was afraid it was going to be awkward. I was afraid I was not going to know when to let go. But I held on, and he held on. For the longest time. Longer than those fake hugs I’d imagine fleeting encounters consist of. And his arms. His vest. I could feel the fabric. The pressure. Just him being there.
With me.
And then he let go (Bless). I asked him for photos, of course, and said, “Can we do one good pic, one funny pic?” to him (again, when reflecting on this—I have no idea what possessed me to ask him that at that point. I have never.)
Tumblr media
“Oh, I’m sure it’ll be funny because of my face,” he added, arm around me, and I kept asking in my head, “Why---what made you say that, Ezra!! Your face is not funny.”
He gave me movie star smolders (swoon). I did not get the outrageous pictures Ezra was famous for with fans—but this was incredible enough in and of itself.
Tumblr media
We’re back again when it’s all a blur to me. Soohee confirmed we did say ‘thank you,’ twice—I hope I did, because right after he took photos with me he greeted the couple after us, and I had to ask him if he could take pictures with Soohee.
“See, we’re back at this angle again. Just getting this circle of energy going!” Ezra said as Soohee stepped up to him for her photo (I’d taken mine with him at another angle of the room, and Soohee’s were 180 degrees of mine).
We skipped out of the crowd, toward the basement’s exit, Soohee not having asked him for his signatures, because right before us, we heard him saying, “I’d say let’s hug each other, take pictures, and keep moving!” in his cheerful way. “They’re going to clear us out soon.”
(Curse us. Why did we ever go upstairs.)
And the bodyguard (who’d seen us from the beginning, bless his heart) asked if we were okay. We nodded yes.
So that happened. So I’d met Ezra Miller a second time. What a conclusion. What an end to this London life.
It was two minutes, maybe, us there. Talking to him, but it lasted.
Like his hug, it lasted. And I know I’ll have to let go, and go back to reality—but I’m already here. So let me remember it lasting a while, let me remember it while it still lasts in my mind.

nlfn is on wlur right now! i wasn't able to put the show together for our 'regularly' schedule show yesterday due to some childhood plague in our house tuesday night so this marks the fourth consecutive week with a different time slot.
hopefully i'll be back to the scheduled 3-5pm slot on wednesday next week. i already christened that time slot with last week's show, which you can catch below.
no love for ned on wlur – may 29th, 2019 from 3-5pm
