"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, "I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise." 13 And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Behold, I and the children God has given me."

Devotional for February 16th
Be not slothful In business. - Romans 12:11
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. - Hebrews 12:3
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. - Hebrews 12:12
Slothfulness and weariness are sure to smuggle themselves in, when you become secure in grace and when, after having received the forgiveness of sins, you do not make war against evil habits, but make peace with one or another bosom-sin and in a subtle manner cling to it; when you, while enjoying the goodness of the Lord, believe that it is not necessary to be on your guard against your old enemies; that the wicked one can now no more cause you any injury, and that you can no more be lost, because you are in the bosom of God. Only too soon comes the old habit and inclination, the sin that still clings to us, into view. Grace diminishes because we do not "hold it fast, and because we are not zealous but lukewarm in the service of the Lord. Then we feel faint and permit "the hands" to ’’hang down" and we spare "the feeble knees. " Not so, beloved! Follow the Apostle’s admonition. Take courage and lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, that ye may raise your hands to heaven and make your footsteps sure. The God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory, shall prepare, establish, strengthen, settle you.
Ye servants of the Lord, Each in His office wait, Observant of His heavenly Word, And watchful at His gate.

"I'm Not Good Enough" is Only One of the Lies
“I’m not good enough” is only one of the lies we tell ourselves. Moreover, this is what I told myself most of my life along with other lies like “You’re not good enough”, “You’ll never amount to anything”, “You’re too fat”, “You’re not pretty enough”, and the like. What Lies Do You Tell Yourself? I guess the point that I’m trying to make is that these are lies. So, why did I continue to believe…

Two faithful kings with differing outcomes
Two faithful kings with differing outcomes
Believers are called to be faithful, but how that faithfulness is recognized by God remains within his Providence. 2 Kings 18:5-7 – Hezekiah relied on Yahweh God of Israel; not one of the kings of Judah was like him, either before him or after him. He remained faithful to Yahweh and did not turn from following him but kept the commands Yahweh had commanded Moses. Yahweh was with him, and…

Pain is No Picnic. But, Is it Possible We Couldn't Grow Without It?
Pain is a bad thing. It certainly isn’t something we enjoy or want to experience; but, is it always bad? What can it possibly be Good For? Jesus offers us some insight: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he taketh away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (John 15:1-2 KJV) We often…

“What to Expect from God When Life Sends You the Unexpected” By Leslie Newman:
“Sometimes life sends you the unexpected. It’s an unexpected that you didn’t ask for and you don’t want. It came out of nowhere. Perhaps it’s a physical problem, illness, or the death of someone you loved very much. Perhaps it’s an issue between you and a friend. Maybe your child is making bad choices, or you have a spouse that has abandoned you. The list could go on and on, could it not? It just seems like too much, doesn’t it?
When these things happen, there’s often no real answers in sight to explain the whys and the what ifs. It can be so painful and agonizing. But one thing we do have is the truth. And the truth tells us that we have a God who is with us, who cares deeply and who walks alongside us in the most difficult of circumstances.
When you are walking that long and lonely road through the unexpected, here’s something you can rely on. God is always who He says He is.
These verses give us just a few glimpses into the character of God.
1. God is our shield: “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11 KJV)
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2, NKJV)
2. God is our helper: “Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life.” (Psalm 54:4 NKJV)
“So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6, NKJV)
3. God goes with us: “The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NASB)
“Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6, HCSB)
4. God will provide: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19, NASB)
“His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3, HCSB)
Prayer: Dear Lord, sometimes it just feels like too much. Things are not what we expected, and we don’t understand. But You are a God who walks with us. We know we can rely on You to be who You say You are. And you’ve told us You will never forsake us or leave us. Thank you for loving us that much and help us to know it deep inside our hearts.”

Life in Short Bursts
I am in that season of life when stamina is not what it once was. Strength is less than it once was. Muscle tone is a daily battle that, if not fought and won, daily, is lost easily with further diminishment of strength and stamina. So I am learning to live life in short bursts, and I am learning that it is amazing what can be accomplished in those bursts. I don’t know who said it. I can’t…
