Hebrews 12:2 (NLT) - We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

... looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. - Hebrews 12:2
Hebrews Chapter 11 gives us a list of heroes of faith that is meant to inspire us to walk in the same faith as they did. In Chapter 12, however, we are given one final example of faith. We are given Jesus, the hero who is the very "founder and perfecter of our faith." As such, Jesus is worthy of being dealt with in a separate treatment apart from the other heroes.
Jesus is the founder (or "author") and perfecter (or "finisher") of our faith because He is from first to last the archetypal example of what it means to have faith in God. His faith, to put it another way, supersedes the faith of any of the previously mentioned heroes of faith and serves as the preeminent and perfect example as a result. We should look to Jesus, therefore, before we look to any of the other heroes. The faith of the other heroes, exemplary though it is, is not comparable to the matchless faith of Jesus.
The main reason that Jesus holds this exalted position in the hall of the heroes of faith is that He was able by faith to see past the horror of the cross to the joy that was in store for Him. Jesus believed there would be great joy at the right hand of the throne of God and that there would be great joy for having saved the whole creation.
Given His faith, Jesus was able to bear the pain, suffering, and shame of the events associated with His trial and crucifixion. Indeed, Jesus did more than bear them. He "despised the shame." Instead of allowing the shame and everything else to inhabit and overwhelm His soul, He despised them by refusing to give them entrance into His sense of himself.
By faith Jesus overcame the shame and He now sits in the place of highest honor in heaven and earth.
In the world of trouble we live in we may be going through many things that we would rather not be going through. Like our hero Jesus, however, there are great rewards set before us that we will obtain if we overcome by faith just as He did.

“God did not die. The God who took on Himself a human nature died in His humanity, but the deity did not perish on the cross.” —R.C. Sproul
The Word says that, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), which means He has always been and still is Jesus, even after the Crucifixion. On the Cross, Jesus sacrificed His earthly body for us, dying for our sins in our place, then was resurrected and took His rightful place in Heaven:
“...Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].” —Hebrews 12:2 (AMP)
The Word says that Jesus is God (John 20:28; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8), but also human (Romans 1:2–4; 1 John 4:2–3). We can never know for sure exactly what happened to Jesus on the Cross, because there is no-one else like Him, nor will there ever be. And we may never truly understand how Jesus was both fully human and fully God. But all we really need to know is that Jesus is alive, we are forgiven, we are healed and we have eternal life through Jesus. Praise the Lord, Glory to God, Amen and Hallelujah! 🙏🕊️🙌

Sunflowers Follow the Sun
Happy first day of August! I took down my July 4th patriotic décor on July 21st. I was ready to display my sunflowers vignette because August is the sunflowers’ time to flourish! Sunflowers captured my attention for this blog today! They are beautiful examples of God’s handiwork. They can reach upwards of 10 feet, with its bright yellow rounded flower standing atop its long stem. A field of…

The Nearness of God, The Pain and the Sorrow and the Longing for More
There are times when our spiritual senses are so keen, so lambent and alive that our hearts can hardly be contained and tears drip down our cheeks as if a relief value had been opened to make it possible for us to survive the moment. Those times are rare. They are wonderful. And sometimes, they are painful. They are soul deepening and they help to create in us and even greater longing, a sense of…

Jesus, My Author
What great joy is ours! We have more than a best-selling author to write our story. We have the Creator of the Universe!
There’s something that I’ve noticed as an author. My characters become so real to me. In the Strong Delusion Trilogy, because it was a three book set, we traveled many days together, even years.. They became such a part of my life that when I finished that series, I felt such an emptiness, as though I had lost some very dear friends. That might sound strange to you and yet maybe if there are…

Isaiah 50: The Third Servant Song
This is the third Servant Song, and the Servant is Messiah Jesus. Only the Servant would believe that God will keep God’s promises in the covenants God made with God’s people. Only Jesus believed these covenants fully. #Isaiah50 #SufferingServant
The Problem of Suffering What would it feel like to be in your house, or on your way to work, or maybe at the grocery store, just doing the regular things we do every day, and suddenly unimaginable devastation hits with terrifying power?  At 10 a.m. it’s a normal day. At 10:30 a.m. you have no home, no work, no belongings, and maybe no family left. How would you and I feel? Numb? Abandoned by…

Testing of Your Faith 1,2,3,4,5,6 | Jackie Pullinger [Hebrews 12:1-3]
So we're talking about the long haul.
Hebrews 12:1 since we're surrounded by such a cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders us & the sin that so easily entangles us; & let us run with perseverance, the race marked out for us.
I believe we all have a race, which is different from some—we are up in competition with one another, so it's not that.
   •  It's have you begun your race?    •  And are you going to finish?
It says here, “Run with perseverance” & it goes on to talk about JESUS & HIS race. If you like or HIS portion
Let us fix our eyes on JESUS the Author & Perfecter of our faith — WHO for the joy set before HIM endured the Cross, scorning its shame & sat down at the right hand of GOD.
JESUS saw what was before HIM: For the joy set before HIM.
The joy set before HIM was you & me with HIM for eternity & because HE saw joy set before HIM, HE could endure the Cross & scorn, the shame.
Hebrews 12:2 | Call to Endurance [2 Timothy 2:1-13] ² Let us fix our eyes on JESUS, the Author & Perfecter of our faith, WHO for the joy set before HIM endured the cross, scorning its shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of GOD.
In John 4, HE talked about HIS work on Earth v.34,
MY food said JESUS is to do the will of HIM WHO sent me & to finish HIS work. JESUS finished and said as HE was about to die, “it is finished.”
When HIS Disciples tried to dissuade HIM from going to Jerusalem—because there are always those that want to dissuade us for some reason
A.] Dangers of Burnout
We have a phrase, which has appeared amongst Christians—but it can't be a Christian term burn- out, it's the wrong words.
You cannot burn out, if you are running your race with HIS fuel. You can burn out if you are trying to run someone else's race, & doing it w/o HIS fuel.
That means that for whichever purpose HE has created us for — whatever race it is you are to run & I am to run:
We can enjoy & we can finish
This is what it says in Luke 13, if you got Bibles I'm very pleased to see some of you actually got books here.
It's awfully encouraging because I'm never quite sure if people are messaging, you know, when they got those other things.
Luke 13:32 JESUS' Disciples are trying to, sorry the Pharisees say, “Leave this place & go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill YOU, & HE replied go tell that Fox I will drive out demons, and heal people today & tomorrow.
And on the third day, I will reach MY goal.
HE knew what HIS goal was, it was to die.
In any case, I must keep going today & tomorrow & the next day—for surely no Prophet can die out -side Jerusalem.
This is on another subject, but there's a difference between vision and goals you know. We live in an age where some people preach,
“You can have what you want,” absolutely rubbish that's called ambition. It's a very dangerous vision comes from the LORD, it's not something that you make up & it's given by HIM.
And it means that it will come about maybe not in your lifetime—but it will come about the vision
JESUS had was us with HIM in eternity
HIS goal on Earth was to die, different & of course it didn't look awfully good when HE died.
HIS score was low: Twelve disarrayed men & some faithful women, after all the miracles HE had not even multiplied HIS cell group once.
…………………………………………………………………………………… And we live in an age, and I am so sorry if you are young because it's harder for you, where we think we have got to come up with something to prove our calling. ……………………………………………………………………………………
We don't have to come up with anything at all— except to run our race & be obedient, and love people & heal them, & cast out demons along the way.
That's it!
That's all, it's very simple.
[Applause]
