Hebrews 13:8 (NASB1995). “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
“A Foundation of Unwavering Faith” By In Touch Ministries:
“We can count on the everlasting love of Jesus: He will never leave us and will always help us.”
“In our ever-changing world, families move, friendships drift, and technology advances. If we seek security in people, possessions, or positions, we’re going to be disappointed. Yet we all need somewhere to turn during the storms of life. The true anchor for our soul is Jesus, who Scripture promises will never change. To find comfort in Him, we must learn who He is, what He does, and how He works.
John 1:1 reveals that Jesus was Deity from the beginning. Fully God and fully man, He was born of a virgin. Scripture identifies Him as the Christ (Matthew 16:16-17)—the Savior who was crucified and who rose after three days. Jesus is the Son of the Living God and the only way to Him (John 14:6). He fulfilled countless prophecies in the Old Testament, such as Isaiah 53:1-12. Like us, Jesus has feelings—He wept for hurting people and felt angry when people misused the temple. Most importantly, His resurrection defeated death, and He still lives today.
God’s character never varies. Of course, as situations change, He acts accordingly. But the merciful, loving, compassionate, and holy Jesus we know in Scripture is the same Messiah we can cling to today. Where do you turn in trying times? Difficult circumstances are inevitable. Prepare yourself for them by learning who Jesus is—He’s the only true shelter and rock that will not change.”

UNCHANGING GOD
VERSE OF THE DAY: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. – Hebrews 13:8 NLT Back in 2009, after my family and I moved to Bangkok, Thailand as a missionary. My mom had two dreams, in her first dream, she was pregnant and having labor. Later after she woke up, she asked my dad for its meaning. My dad said it could be a ministry that the Lord is giving. So, she applied as a Sunday…

Verse of the Day 8-30-22
Verse of the Day 8-30-22
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 The truth that Jesus Christ does not change provides a firm anchor for our faith and life. It means that we as Christ’s followers today must never compromise the unchanging truth of God’s Word. We must not be content until we experience the same salvation, companionship with God, baptism in the Holy Spirit and kingdom power…

Revelation 1: Α and Ω
It was a huge question for the early church, one of the first questions the church councils sought to answer. Was Jesus a human being? Was Jesus divine? #AlphaandOmega #Revelation1 #HighViewofChrist
BEHOLD! He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him, and they will beat their breasts with grief over Him, all the peoples of the earth. Yes! Amen!“I AM the Alpha and the Omega,” the Lord is saying, “The God Who is, and Who was and Who is now coming, the Omnipotent.”Revelation 1:7-8 High View of Christ Who is Jesus? It was a huge question for the early…

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

"I'm Not Good Enough" is Only One of the Lies
“I’m not good enough” is only one of the lies we tell ourselves. Moreover, this is what I told myself most of my life along with other lies like “You’re not good enough”, “You’ll never amount to anything”, “You’re too fat”, “You’re not pretty enough”, and the like. What Lies Do You Tell Yourself? I guess the point that I’m trying to make is that these are lies. So, why did I continue to believe…

Tyndale Life Application Daily Devotion
Tumblr media
Devotional for December 8th
Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep,        and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—may he equip you with all you need        for doing his will.        May he produce in you,        through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.        All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. - Hebrews 13:20-21 NLT
Insight
This verse includes two significant results of Christ's death and resurrection. God works in us to make us the kind of people that would please him, and he equips us to do the kind of work that would please him.
Challenge
Let God change you from within and then use you to help others.

God's Shaggy Dog Story, August 2022
God’s Shaggy Dog Story, August 2022
Between some vacation, a guest preacher, and some other schedule oddities, writing and preaching meant finding some old habits. So we have a classic sci-fi reference and a story from Genesis. Which makes perfect sense when the text is the Epistle to the Hebrews. I am preaching from Hebrews 13. 1-8 15-16, but reference Genesis 18.1-15 heavily. (Both available here.)
