okay, this is it.

you walk into the interview room, immediately hit by the bright lights and flowers around. it takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the light, maybe not wearing your glasses today wasn't the best idea. you take your seat and look ahead to them. they look unreal.

it never dawns upon you how good seventeen look in real life. almost better than their pictures. u smile at them, small bows and introductions before the cameras begin rolling. you see him and can't help but smile wider, he really is unreal.

the pd yells action and as if a new person, you're immediately more confident, reciting the script like it was engraved in your mind. "hello everyone, welcome to dingo's new show forever idol!, you've waited a long time huh? well we won't waste much time and introduce our guests for the first ep, a group who has always been very close to dingo. everyone please welcome seventeen!" small cheering by the staff followed by hoshi's "say the name" intro.

it's hard to say what exactly it is, but seventeen's energy is so calming. you don't feel like you're interviewing top idols, it feels like they're old childhood friends. the interview goes extremely smoothly, it's as if this is something you've done before. you're glad seventeen were able to make the mood a bit more lively and cheerful, they really are just a group of best friends.

asking the questions makes you understand seventeen more. the way hoshi always is excited to answer and ends up cutting someone off mid-sentence, how dk is always joining hoshi in his acts making sure he's never alone, seungkwan is always making sure that you're okay with hosting and is asking questions to you too. mingyu keeps laughing at everything and everyone and chan joins in to give small comments. vernon is usually quite, he sits back and just enjoys his members answers. sometimes he answers, and he's always answering in such a thoughtful way, it's admirable.

you wrap up your ending and the cameras are cut. you get up and offer to shake all of their hands, which they take eagerly. you get to shake vernons hand and he gives u a small smile. u return it and hope that the faint red tint creeping up your neck to your cheeks isn't noticible by him.

the pd says you guys can take some rest so they can film a behind video, ones where they run around asking them random questions. you excuse yourself from the group to the snacks aisle in the other room.

maybe it's because you're nervous, or scared, that u almost drop ur phone at the mention of your name. u catch your phone before it drops and see seungkwan and vernon before you"we surprised you huh? haha sorry but y/n we have a very serious and important question." seungkwan starts, emphasising the "serious and important" part.

you say a small yes when seungkwan hands the mic to vernon and he continues "so y/n fried chicken or ramen" a very serious question indeed u think. after a few seconds of thought u say your answer "fried chicken, it's my comfort food" and vernon gives u a victory high five with a smile while seungkwan looks to the camera in a rant about how fried chicken makes bloating worse and what not. honestly you couldn't pay attention, not when vernon looked at u.

the rest of the interviews were fun to watch, you got to know hoshi and dk LOVE having the camera on them and that dino likes being called handsome more than cute. never a dull moment with seventeen.

it's about 6pm when everyone is wrapping up to leave and u see jiwoo come in the room. she talks to a few staff and comes towards you.

"ready to leave?"

"yeah just let me check if I forgot something" you say as u turn towards the green room area. as you're about to walk you see vernon outside seventeen's room on the phone with someone. now you have 2 options, face vernon while going to your room Or just hope that you've left nothing behind.

"yeah let's go I don't think I'll leave something"

synopsis - you get invited to your first MAMA awards after debuting as a soloist. a dream come true for u. your fans are ecstatic but they can't help but notice how this one idol keeps stealing glances at u......and you can't ignore it either.

"Johnny!?" I yelled into the pure darkness surrounding me. "Johnny, please!" I close my eyes, trying to escape this repetitive reality. Suddenly, I see a light flash 7 feet away, making me snap out of my trance. It was Johnny. I tried to run to him but I couldn't move. I screamed over and over but he couldn't hear my pleas. He just blankly stares at me, with a face of pure terror. His head slowly tilts to the right and his mouth opens. "Why didn't you save me?! Do I mean nothing to you? It's all your fault!" I let out a loud scream of pure anguish, trying to find an out to this distorted place. "Someone help!"

Suddenly, a fire starts to trail up behind him, slowly getting closer. "Johnny, run!" I watch as the fire quickly envelopes him fully, his screams of pain piercing my ears. I extend my legs to run to him, free from my previous paralysis. Once I got there, he was...gone. I scream, dropping to my knees in sadness when I feel someone tap my shoulder. I slowly rose up and then proceeded to turn around. When I turned, I saw a disfigured johnny, covered in debris and burns. "Why didn't you stop me?" is all I heard before I woke up screaming.

I started to cry until I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, I jumped slightly. "It's ok baby, it's ok." I cried even harder at the soft tone, feeling safe. "Johnny?" He held me in his arms and rocked back and forth. I inhaled his scent for comfort, "What happened?" My tears were starting to dry and I could talk normally "I had a dream you left me, you died in the fire." His mouth dropped open slightly and tears welled in his eyes. He's never been the same since. Johnny started to have a more positive outlook on things since so seeing me so upset hurt him too.

He sat us up fully, soothing me. We sat in silence for a little while till he made a suggestion. "How about we get some food? The dingo's still open." I beamed at his words. He always knew what to say. We got in the car and started to drive to the dingo, listening to the radio. Johnny put his spare hand on my thigh and started to rub slowly. I put my hand on top of his and squeezed, feeling instant relief.

We arrived in the next five minutes. Once we walked in, Christy came to take our order. We decided to get a grilled cheese and vanilla milkshake with extra whip cream like usual. We sat and talked till sunrise about our future, favorites, and what are kids would be like. It felt like dream, unlike my recurring nightmares. After we were done, we headed back home. Before we walked into the house, Johnny grabbed my hand and stopped me. "Let's stay out here for a while, huh?" I shivered slightly before protesting, "Johnny it's cold!" He laughed at my reaction before pulling me in close. "I'll always warm you up." I giggled at his theatrics before sighing slightly and giving in.

He gripped me tighter than before, kissing my head. "I'll never leave you, baby. Before I knew it, we were both crying again. "I love you so much, Johnny." He looks at me in my eyes, tears running down his face with a downward smile. "I love you too, always and forever." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonic Underground Episode 18: Friend or Foe

I’m watching Sonic Underground in search of inspiration to finish a fic I’ve been writing forever. It’s a sad state of affairs. See the recap of the first three episodes here, if you're interested!

The plot (for want of a better word): In search of their mother, the Sonic Underground explore the dreaded Floating Island! But it’s guardian, Knuckles the Echidna, has been tricked by Sleet into thinking the Sonic Underground are the bad guys! Can they convince him to join the side of good before it’s too late?

Aaaah! It’s the Knuckles episode! Oh my god, these episodes are SO TERRIBLE, I love them!

Okay, so apparently the Oracle sent the triplets to the Floating Island. “The Floating Island is fraught with danger. Beware the echidna.”

In my headcanon of Sonic 3 having happened before this, you can just imagine Sonic going “yes. Beware the echidna. His stupidity is a damn menace to himself and everyone around him” but in canon, Sonic’s just being irresponsible as ever.

And immediately gets caught in a trap. We are amused.

Back in the day, Knuckles was known for his traps. I’m surprised Underground kept this, because by the time Adventure came out (which was just after this series) they’d basically abandoned that part of Knuckles’ character in favour of him being a gullible treasure hunter. Hilariously, the Archie comics (which remember, this series often pulls from) ignored both bits of characterisation.

This series also introduced Knuckles’ pet dinosaur Chomps. I cannot explain this character’s existence and will not attempt to.

Knuckles is tricked with a deep fake. Which, I mean, credit to this series’ Knuckles that at least it’s a hologram, instead of Robotnik just telling him Sonic is bad.

(Also, side note, it’s kind of funny that these days, deep fakes are made with AI, so the voices tend to be a bit too fast, whereas back in the day, you had to piece together words from old recordings, so they tended to be a bit slow. Just interesting how technology changes things…)

While Sleet and Dingo run away from Knuckles, Chomps eats their hologram thing. Because how else would the triplets figure out Knuckles isn’t evil?

Another weird thing this series added is the Sacred Pools, which are like… magic water fountains. Knuckles uses them to see things and communicate with people… and fast travel. It’s weird.

So, as contractually obligated, Sonic and Knuckles immediately get into a fight, despite Sonia suggesting they reason with him. After Knuckles has already thrown punches. This does nothing because Knuckles cannot be reasoned with. I love this idiot.

Meanwhile, Sleet and Dingo are searching for the underground chamber that the Archie comics used as the Chaos Emerald shrine. Confusing bit of lore here, because in Sonic 3 and Knuckles, the underground shrine was for the Super Emeralds. The Master Emerald (which is what actually keeps the Island afloat) has always been kept above ground, but for some reason, the Master Emerald wasn’t part of comic or animated continuity until after Sonic Adventure. The Archie comics had the twelve (? I think… I’d have to go check and I’m comfy in bed right now) emeralds in the shrine which kept the island afloat (until events happened that coalesced them into one with Mammoth Mogul inside and it was a whole thing so let’s just move on). Sonic Underground has a Master Emerald, and shard-like things that will show up in a later episode, and it’s all a bit confusing really.

Sonia and Manic are in a hole underground because of Knuckles' traps. Naturally Sonia has to get them out of there, instead of, you know, the guy with power over the earth. Sigh.

Anyway, this makes them run into Chomps, who shows them the hologram. Which has the triplets in a different standing order than before. Who needs continuity?

And Knuckles cements himself as an idiot by breaking a bridge he himself is standing on. Now, anyone who’s played the games knows that Knuckles can glide, so this is not actually a problem, but he can’t actually do that in Sonic Underground. He gets off the bridge, but while Sonic homing attacks (before this was a game mechanic, it was an animation trope) himself out of danger, Knuckles gets too close to the edge of the trap and starts falling.

Side note, if you ever want to get super drunk, take a shot every time Sonic says “bummer majores” in this series. You will die.

So while Knuckles nearly tumbles to his death, Sonic literally stands by, makes jokes, and applauds. But he saves the idiot in the end, so it’s okay. I feel like this whole episode could have benefited from someone fast forwarding some of the animation on Sonic and Knuckles, but they needed the extra seconds.

Meanwhile, Sleet and Dingo find the Emerald and take it, and the island starts falling. Everyone comes together for a final chase… only for Dingo to get distracted and drop the emerald. They bring out a bunch of SWATbots to ensure the episode has reason for –

THE SONG: (Things are not always) What They Seem. Which quietly steals a bass line from Sonic 3, I think. Kind of funky anyway. Go off, kids.

Anyway, they get the emerald back, Sleet throws away the communicator so he can pretend to have not heard Robotnik threatening him, and we end on Knuckles roasting what definitely looks like a giant heart (“kroopnik, an echidna delicacy”) for everyone’s dinner. Sonic declines to try it.

Knuckles reveals that Queen Aleena was on the island when he was a kid, and shows them a marking she left in the rocks. A message for her children, telling them that Knuckles is the first ally they need to defeat Robotnik.

This will not go anywhere except one episode later in the series. Don’t get excited.

But yes. Aren't you glad that while this series will never have fan-favourite Tails, or logic, or good animation, it does at least pay lip-service to Sonic 3? Yes? Yes? Anyone?

My current Pikmin 4 experience so far

I've only had Pikmin 4 for like 3 days and I've already fallen in love with all the little guys- I swear if anything happens to them I will murder that damned bulborb with my own two hands.

And then there's Oatchi.

OH MY GOD I LOVE OATCHI HE'S SO CUTE AAAAA

So anyways-

I know I love dogs, but Oatchi is on a whole different level. Not only is he the fluffiest, most goodest boy, he has been the most helpful good boy ever. Every mission I've done, Oatchi has helped in one way or another. He's also been a huge help with transporting the Pikmin across water and when I was just too scared to walk normally. By far, Oatchi has been the MVP of the team. Of course, there will still be a place for the Pikmin, forever and always.

Now for something new- if you haven't found the doctor yet, now's a good place to stop.

So I just recently found Yonny, the doc, and I was ecstatic. I mean, I had four leaflings waiting for treatment of some kind, and no one to treat them. The only problem? Dingo drank the last tonic. Oh, and the sap the cure comes from only blooms at night. Yonny asked me if I could go grab some. Okay, sure.

I did not realize it was gonna become a Warframe defense mission.

So far, I've only done one mission, and while I panicked once the timer started, I think I can do. But as for right now, I think I'll stick to the daylight, thank you very much.

First things first: I always recommend people listen to SVT's Love&Letter Repackage (this was the Aju Nice album!) 🥺🥰🤗 I know it's older, some fans don't like music from that era, it's fruity, etc, etc, but I personally think it had some quality songs! I actually liked the ballads on this album a lot lol.

My favorites were Adore U (Vocal team version), Simple (Woozi solo), and Space. A little extra love for Space because is HHU's forgotten child 😭 It features Seokmin and the lyrics were just everything to me!!!

Their variety show, Going Seventeen is a MUST watch! I loved their music before, but this really tipped me over into becoming a carat. Each episode is only ~30 minutes, but just so you get an idea of what it's like, I'll link a few short "summary" fan edits here to my favorite episodes!

Boo's Past Life Destiny - A great intro to each member (unfortunately Cheol was on hiatus).

Haunted House Tag - This was how I heard about GoSe! It blew up on social media because of rumors of Wonwoo seeing a ghost and Minghao hugging a clown. So many memes came out of it - it's not that scary just because the members were so funny and chaotic!

The original Mafia betrayal story - My favorite is from season 2, but you have to understand this one to understand the beef in all the later ones. I've never seen a group play Mafia like them LMAO.

Thank you for asking, cheeseanon!!! I really enjoy these. I normally live out in the bush and even in California I live in a rural area so I don't have many neighbours (and those that do know me as that Weird Aussie Bloke that disappeared for 3 years).

What's your preferred time of day and why?

Night! Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night. I absolutely love the stars. My second-favourite time of day is dawn when the kookaburras wake up.

Most reliable water sources?

There's no reliable water sources in the Outback. I collect my water from rain tarps (which I can drink straight) and clear streambeds (which I have to boil before drinking). I have one canteen specifically for collecting water and another for carrying purified water when I'm travelling. Sometimes soakage from native wells is the only way of obtaining water but I've only had to do this a few times.

How do you usually deal with common threats out in the bush?

Staying in Matilda/under shelter during the hottest parts of the day, since the environment itself is the greatest threat in the Outback. As far as living threats go, it usually involves screaming. I've run my voice hoarse through shouting at dingos because they very much hate noise and are generally skittish around people. When necessary I might fire a warning shot into the dirt to make them keep their distance and this usually works. I've only ever had one actually bite me, and that was a lone female with pups (judging by the condition of her teats) who wanted my food. We tussled on the ground for a bit with her teeth locked around my ankle (thank Christ for my leather boots), I cut her foreleg with my knife, and she scurried off. She came back an hour later and decided I was still worth the risk of being killed over, so I took a potshot between her legs to make her keep her distance and chucked her the back half of a rabbit which she scurried off with. Normally I wouldn't recommend feeding the wildlife since it can make them dependent on people which puts people and the animal in danger, but we were in an area with very few humans so it's unlikely she'd ever encounter one again. To her I was a big prey animal and worth the risk to feed her pups. Mutual respect between us and she learned her lesson I reckon.

On the downside, I needed a new pair of jeans because her teeth ripped right through the hem.

What kind of snake would you consider the least dangerous?

The dead kind. That's a joke. Please don't kill snakes, they're really neat and are much more afraid of you than you are of them. Additionally you're much more likely to get bit trying to kill or move a snake than you are just letting him go on his way. I'd reckon that any small nonvenomous snake isn't dangerous. Typically anything in Colubridae is safe. Small, non-dangerous species include:

Green tree snake, Dendrelaphis punctulatus

Common keelback, Tropidonophis mairii

Green tree python, Morelia viridis (they're arseholes though)

Brahminy blind snake, Indotyphlops braminus (invasive)

Woma python, Aspidites ramsayi

Northern green tree snake, Dendrelaphis calligaster

Elephant trunk snake, Acrochordus arafurae (these guys are really neat!)

Pygmy python, Antaresia perthensis

Crab-eating snake, Fordonia leucobalia

Marine file snake, Acrochordus granulatus (really neat)

Bockadam, Cerberus australis

Rough-scaled python, Morelia carinata

Papuan spotted python, Antaresia papuensis

Every blind snake in the genus Anilios

Australia has ~140 species of land snakes and ~30 species of sea snakes. Basically all our sea snakes are highly venomous and can kill you. Of our land snakes, ~100 are venomous. That means roughly 75% of Australian snakes are venomous. That said, the majority of these have venom so insignificant that it can't harm people. Most people won't even realise they've been bitten. So why didn't I count the "harmless" venomous species? People can have allergies! What might bite me and not have any effect could bite you and give you a fatal arrhythmia if you're allergic to the venom. Mozzies. I fucking hate mozzies with a burning passion. They gave my dad malaria twice and nearly killed him the second time. Additionally I'm type O (universal donor) which, just so happens, mozzies fucking love. I get SWARMED. I'm constantly covering myself, my clothes, and Misty in permethrin just to keep ticks off us (and this comes from somebody who fucking hates synthetic chemicals). Those Nights I Used to Know

I miss those hot summer nights where we would lay out on my front porch. Drinking sweet tea and listening to the cars roll by. The sweet smell of the humid air, and Johnnys signature musk.

I long to have the cold autumn evenings back. The ones when he’d put his jacket around my shoulders, and walk me down the street back to my house after school. The same nights we’d smoke together in the nice breezy weather.

Now I can only imagine how we’d go to the dingo together in the spring and joke and laugh. Oh how we’d laugh and carry on, and when we were done we’d lay out in the lot. Him, putting his jacket over me as I fell asleep on his shoulder.

The nostalgia makes me cry. Cry like how I had when I’d heard the news. Cry like I did that night at the dinner table where my parents asked me what’s wrong and I didn’t answer. Cry like I had when I sat and smoked on my front porch, a glass of sweet tea in hand.

I remember how he had told me he loved me one night in the summer…

His hand had made its way subconsciously over to mine. His usually sweaty hands were now dry and calm, the shaky nature of him had subsided.

“Y/n…” he said, looking at me with his dark brown, almost black eyes.

“Yes?” I replied, feeling slightly anxious at what he was about to say.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” his fingers intertwined with mine. I watched our hands silently, meaning for him to go on. He took a drag of his kools and sniffed it out on the concrete beneath our feet.

“I like you, no…” he paused, a look of confusion washed over his features as he studied my face.

“No…what?” I asked, also confused as to why he said that.

“I think I love you.” His words rang in my ears.

‘I think I love you’ ‘I think love you’.

I was frozen, I’d never heard anything like this come from him, Johnny.

He continued, “I don’t know much about love but…I know it’s what I’m feelin right now and-”

“Johnny I love you too” I quickly cut him off and placed a hand to his shoulder. The feeling of his warm skin touching mine had given me a rush. We were only teenagers but…I knew this would last forever.

But I was wrong…

Penny’s new harness is here! She’s settled in and bonded with my cat, Nimue, so much that she’s officially adopted and in training! Welcome to your forever home, Penny!

She has a snazzy new pink collar with her name and address custom engraved on it coming in the mail, too, but she just loves her new harness, and it arrived right in time for her date with the vet to be spayed. The family vet has taken a look at her and concluded she’s very much a Red Heeler and a bit younger than previously supposed, so he’s been taking his time in going over her bloodwork and DNA to check on some breed-specific drug intolerances before they expose her to any heavy medications when she goes in to be spayed, boostered, and microchipped next week. Red Heelers were bred down between Australian Cattle Dogs and wild Dingoes, and good lord can you tell Penny has some dingo in her when she’s glowering at a stranger that’s come near her bestie:

Penny has bonded so totally with my other baby girl, Nimue, that the choice to classify Penny as a foster pet in my house has pretty much been taken out of my hands! It’s also been several weeks of sustained searching for previous owners, and she hasn’t been claimed or inquired after. My 65-year-old mother loves her as a companion and guardian when she’s gardening and working outside (which Penny makes her feel safe enough to do alone with her and her elderly doxie safe from intruders), and Penny has come to recognize when my autistic brother has had a very hard day at work and is in a state of overload, and so she runs to him and literally hugs him when he needs to have a good cry.

Penny and Nimue love each other so much that they spend every waking moment playing, cuddling, and grooming each other, and can’t stand to sleep separately at night anymore. Both become extremely distraught if they find that the other isn’t within sight when they wake up and cry until they find each other. As a registered fosterer, I can’t in good conscience separate them. They’ve bonded to the point that it would be psychologically traumatic to both of them to separate them, and having them both cuddling with me at bedtime is too great to give up anyway. It’s kibble-powered serotonin, man.

To be sure Penny isn’t missing someone, I’ve taken her on multiple special sessions using an extremely long lunge line to see if she has any interest in running away or searching for someone, including taking her in the car to where she was previously found to see if she knows her way back (she hated going back there and wouldn’t get out of the car at all). She’s never cried or behaved indoors in a way that suggests she misses where she came from, but the tests outside proved it: Penny won’t bother leaving the boundaries of our yard even though we don’t have a fence to physically stop her, comes when called if she gets loose, and even goes to the front door on her own when she hears “Penny, go inside!” When she feels free to roam, her first priority is to go to the exterior of our secure catio (pictured above; it’s been secured as completely safe from poisonous plants, predators, parasites, and escape attempts and can only be accessed from inside) and watch over her my family and, most of all, her best friend Nimue.

The best part? The two are almost the exact same age (around 1 y/o) and healthy. They’re in for many, many years of happiness together.

Okay Imma have a little rant about how foreigners view Australians right here.

so if you want some entertainment then go right on ahead and read this :)

So I've got an atlas for kids from when I was little, and I will forever be annoyed about what was written in there. So here we go (what the book says versus reality)

what to say: beaut, beauty, bonzer, ripper (they all mean good in australian english)

first of all, what. I have never heard an australian say any of these words except for in aussie christmas songs (because they poke fun of the aussie accent). Do not say any of these words unless you want to look like an "australian" in hollywood. (and even if we did say bonzer, it's spelt bonza)

2. What not to say: why don't you have corks on your hat?

yeah that would be weird to ask. But also dont say any of what they suggested in 1. Do not say that, it is weird.

3. Infamous for: Ned Kelly

Sure, he's infamous here. But how about the actually important things???? We are more than just guys in homemade armour getting shot in legs.

4. Dangerous Animals: Loads! Sharks, Poisonous spiders, snakes, kangaroos.

Okay this is fair. However, the main reason we get bitten by sharks more is because we are in the water more. You would be too if it was 40 degrees out (104 Fahrenheit). Yeah we have poisonous spiders (technically they're venomous atlas), but I'd rather hope you wouldn't touch one any way. You see one, you spray it with bug spray. simple. Snakes, yeah I've seen a few. Kangaroos are chill if you keep your distance and for the love of god do not let your dog follow them into the water they will hold it under until it drowns.

5. Sports: Australian Rules Football, Surfing.

Fair.

6. Job: Bush ranger

I have so many things to say about this. Do people think we run around like ned kelly shooting things???? Do people not realize majority of us live in cities??? I don't even think Bush Rangers exist anymore.

7. Hobby: going walkabout.

Majority of australians do call it "going walkabout". You go for a walk. And we have the same hobbies as other countries???

8. Food: meat pies, vegemite.

Aren't meat pies british??? The most iconic aussie thing to eat is a barbeque, is it not? (yes we call it a barbie sometimes). Yes some of us eat vegemite. A thin amount spread on toast. Not a spoonful.

On the subject of bbq's, WE DO NOT SAY SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE.

SHRIMP DO NOT EXIST IN AUSTRALIA AS FAR AS I AM AWARE. WE HAVE PRAWNS. THEY ARE DIFFERENT.

Here is a guide:

do some people put them on the barbie?? most people I know buy pre cooked ones from the supermarket, but I don't see why you couldn't put them on the bbq.

Other things people believe about aussies:

we do call people mate, actually

we do say "she'll be right"

no we do not call women "sheila"

an extremely aussie accent is called "occa" (ocka). It's mostly what you hear us sound like in american media, but some of us do sound like that.

we do sleep in swags sometimes. when we are camping.

not all of us are ridiculously outdoorsy. In fact, majority aren't. I know i'm not.

We swear every two seconds. It's just how it is. It actually confused me when I want to america and no-one swore at all.

sometimes we say g'day. Mostly around foreigners, when the aussie is turned up 100%, but we do sometimes say it to eachother. Mainly we say hi and hello though.

Apparently people think we drink fosters??? I don't even know what fosters is?? I think it's a beer??? It's not a common thing.

not all spiders will kill you. Most are just chillin

Idk if you know what a shoey is, but not all australians do that. It's kinda gross

You will see kangaroos roaming around, unless you are in the middle of the city. Do not approach them, for the love of god.

koalas are only over east, and I've only seen a dingo once. It was dead :|

You really hit on some of my favorites with Guy, Asher and Ollie (other favorites probably being Elliot and Hux/Damien. Is it getting too obvious by now how i might have a bit of a softspot for friends to lovers?)

Who Who

Hey all welcome to the prequel to my Not so Dr Who legacy challenge. Now initially the plan was to just be a famous legacy called Peach after Gretchen's creator Georgia.

But these two are too amazing for that and since I'm currently watching all of the Doctor Who episodes I've decided to make a Who Legacy. Now there is a time lord challenge already for the Sims 4 which, quite frankly is far more accurate than what I'm going to be doing. But I'm still doing it. The plan is I'm going to make each generation like the corresponding doctors. As such this lovely couple is generation zero, a prequel if you will, on where the doctors come from. So we're going to be pretty normal here for a bit before we get to the doctors but we are still Who's up in here.

Who! Who! Sorrynotsorry In case you couldn't tell and or didn't know, this adorable couple is currently living in San Myshuno so Gretchen has been able to bring in extra dough while busking in town.

She really doesn't have to though because Felix is already at the top of his career as a comedian so they are doing just fine.

Things are going so great before we knew it Gretchen went and got herself pregnant.

Felix's face is just kinda killing me, like uh what? I just woke up you can't be springing this on me right now. Now the Who's are doing just fine to survive in a tiny apartment in the city but there is literally no room for a baby. What the hell was the game thinking when they had those pregnant Bheedas in here? Zoot hates the city so I think it's time to move. But we don't have enough money so thanks to some loans and a little help from Felix's Dad living in retirement, we finally managed to scramble together enough simoleons to get the hell out of this place. Let me tell you I friggin love this house I found.

Gretchen's reaction upon moving in just says it all.

It's amazing I know. I just saw it and had to have it for the Who's. It does have that celebrity lot trait though so Felix is going to have to work on his fame rather than just bringing home dogs to fill the house with.

Luckily for us all Gretchen is already pregnant so we don't have to worry about this amorous duo throwing more kids at me.

But, well, pregnancies don't last forever and it was soon off to the races.

It's ok Felix, Gretchen is just fine with your beautiful baby girl.

No, wait, damnit.

...girls... Kill me. Just kill me now. I am so sick of multiples. Here are a couple pictures of Felix's puppy Dingo to make me feel better.

I mean just how cute is he? My friend DK was right a husky corgi mix is out and out adorable.

The Who's also have a cat, Gustav that you haven't really gotten to meet. But Felix's sister loves him.

So it's winter here in Del Sol Valley and Felix had to invite his whole family over to help with the tree.

Because it is his birthday after all he should be surrounded by loved ones on his big day.

While all this holiday stuff was going on the twins went and aged up and promptly made a huge mess.

Watcher help me, these kids are going to be a handful. So this little one here with the pigtails is Victoria or Vicki. Named after two of the 1st 2 doctors' companions. I mean why they had one named Vicki and another like 2 seasons later named Victoria seems a little uncreative. But anyways there you have it.

Vicki is not heir though. That honor fell to her older sister Dorothea or Dodo. Again another early companion and well Dodo is just fun to say.

And I'm out of things to say yet I still have three pictures in here. So here's some more of Vicki.

Sonic Underground Episode 21: The Jewel of the Crown

I’m watching Sonic Underground in search of inspiration to finish a fic I’ve been writing forever. It’s a sad state of affairs. See the recap of the first three episodes here, if you're interested!

The plot (for want of a better word): Legend says the jewel from Aleena’s crown will glow brighter as it comes closer to her, and Robotnik thinks he’s found it! Can the Sonic Underground find the jewel—and their mother—before their enemies, or is there more to this jewel than meets the eye?

Aleena starts off this episode talking about resilience (though she calls it determination), which is nice. I think that might have been better with last episode, but egh.

Manic has made an electronic bug to spy on Robotnik. Can I just say this is very impressive given that while I didn’t mention it, it was only episode 13 where he said something about how he’d never thought of himself as a mechanic. You’re not supposed to notice this evolution – the series never draws attention to Manic’s technical skillset (because he’s a Tails clone) but if you are a problem like I am, it’s a nice little bit of Manic growing as a member of the Resistance.

So once again, we have Robotnik technically engaging in his city country kingdom’s economy, by having a pawn broker offer to sell Aleena’s jewel to him. Robotnik instead wants Sleet to steal it. As a dictator, or indeed as any legitimate head of state, he could just confiscate it, but he doesn’t. I am a problem, so I take this as more political manoeuvring to make sure the aristocrats remain happy with him.

He also offers Sleet half the money the pawn broker wanted, which builds on something @shinymisty-blog draws attention to in other posts: Sleet is still acting as a bounty hunter with Robotnik. Dingo is the only one being a proper indentured servant… except when he isn’t. Stop questioning the character motivations.

Meanwhile, the Sonic Underground debates how they can get the jewel before Robotnik. Sonia points out that they’re broke, and Manic suggests they ‘liberate it’.

I am entirely on Manic’s side this time, but hey. +1 to Manic’s Thievery is a Problem.

Sonic, on the other hand, suggests that Aleena wouldn’t have sold something that could lead her enemies directly to her because that would be incredibly dumb valuable, so clearly the pawn broker stole it first, which Manic jumps on by saying they’re just recovering the stolen goods. Sonia is immediately on board now because she wants to wear a pretty jewel. We sigh.

Emporium, the town of today’s episode, is another not!Constantinople city. Furthering the comparison is the fact it’s basically empty.

Meanwhile, we discover that Aleena is actually working with the pawn broker! Apparently she’s set a trap!

You know, I feel like these things would work better if she found a way to communicate with her children about her little plots.

Somehow, despite talking about how hard it will be, the triplets find the right pawn shop without any issue. But when it comes down to it, Sonic refuses to steal even for the right reasons. Are all the kids in the audience paying attention to this lovely Sonic Says moment? Yes? Yes? Everyone paying attention to the lesson?

Before it can come to a head, the rug they’re standing on turns out to be Dingo. I am actually going to give the siblings this one, for once, because I also didn’t twig to it. Although in hindsight I should have – we saw Sleet earlier, but no Dingo, and they did mention the rug was an offer from Robotnik, but I absolutely didn’t notice the colour. Maybe I’m tired.

Anyway. Both the siblings and the jewel are now in Sleet and Dingo’s hold!

Except they leave the siblings behind.

THEY LEAVE THE SIBLINGS BEHIND.

THESE. TERRIBLE. VILLAINS.

The pawnbroker stops Sonic from chasing Sleet and Dingo down immediately, but can’t stop him properly. So it feels a little pointless to have that moment, especially when Sonic does still stop their van from escaping.

Sonic’s plan to get the jewel back is almost as dumb and convoluted as… honestly, Sonic.

For some reason, he chooses to flood Sleet and Dingo’s transport with olive oil. You’re the fastest thing alive and you can take on half a battalion of SWATbots single-handedly. When Sleet opens the hatch to look around, squirrel past him, grab the jewel, get away. It is THAT SIMPLE.

Idiot boy.

But it gets the same result, and he very clearly hasn’t stolen it from anyone because Dingo just dropped it. Totally different to some moral guardian or another, I’m sure.

The song: The Cosmic Dance. I… yep, I’m tired, I can think of no comparisons. It’s actually pretty good though, I don’t hate it. It’s quite cute, like the sort of thing you sing to three year olds to encourage them to play Imagination… except it’s using some stereotypical imagery about yoga, hot coals, turbans… what culture do you think you’re referencing, song, because right now I’m just getting ‘vaguely foreign’.

It also references MC Hammer pants, which is very funny.

Okay, so everyone has the idiot ball today. The triplets are literally standing two metres back as Sleet loudly tells Dingo he’s put a tracking device on the van, and yet they happily jump in the van to run away from a bunch of snakes without removing said device. TRIPLETS.

So Aleena’s trap for the jewel has led the triplets (and therefore Sleet and Dingo) to a building that is actually a living plant. Dingo and Sleet are appropriately creeped out by this, and call Robotnik. For… some idiot monetary reason, Robotnik saying he’s going to come and catch Aleena himself bolsters Sleet’s confidence enough for him to be excited to go after Aleena again despite being creeped out.

Also, weird hoodoo magic, Aleena. Interesting. Sonic’s connection to Gaia says what

Sonia’s super strength +1

The tree goes after the triplets until Sonic cuts it off, but weirdly also doesn’t keep attacking Robotnik’s forces. What?

The episode ends with the triplets realising this was Aleena’s trap, and Aleena quietly standing on the sidelines as they leave, professing that someday they’ll be reunited.

Honestly, that ending feels VERY final. A bit of a downer ending, but there’s something bittersweet and hopeful that makes it feel like a proper ‘and the adventure continues’ that should have finished the series.

Basically I’m saying this should have been episode 40, but it wasn’t.
