I recently got back into Danny Phantom again, so of course I had to revisit my sassy lil bastard child XDD This time however, he’s all grown up! :P Explanations for all the designs below ;o
1st image (top): If anyone still remembers him, this is the sassy little punk I rped as for a few years XD I did end up dropping him as a muse cuz tumblr just made it too hard to format posts with their updates, and I eventually moved on to other things U.U He was nicknamed “Sakura” amongst the other Dannys I interacted with cuz I stole Sakura Haruno’s outfit from Naruto and gave it to him since I thought it looked cool on him XP
2nd image (middle): This is my Danny’s official design as an adult. I’ve had the human design for a good while (never rped as adult Danny tho), but the ghost design is fairly new :3 I’ve long since grown out of Naruto and have gotten into Dragon Ball instead, so I wanted to reflect that change by giving Danny’s outfit a Goku Black aesthetic X3 Danny’s ectoplasm has changed from green to pink as he’s gotten older, which is reflected in his eye color. Also, he totally watches Dragon Ball so he can steal/copy all the techniques and look cool during battle XDD
3rd image (bottom left): With this design, I’m here to drop some brand new lore for my boy; as an adult, Danny apprentices under Clockwork! Of course there was no need for him to change his outfit for said apprenticeship, but he’s extra as hell and will find any excuse to have a new outfit XD I went for this look so that it would be a parallel to his regular outfit and match the Goku Black/Zamasu aesthetic I was going for, but it turned more into Supreme Kai of Time (with a dash of Android 21) since Danny is learning how to control time lmao XP His staff is fashioned after Whis’ and it’s really just for show tbh; the staff itself holds no power of its own, Danny uses it as a conduit to channel his own power through (aka he wants to look cool lol)
4th image (bottom right): This one is the newest design I’ve come up with, it’s barely even a week old XDD This form for Danny is basically like a berserk/full power form. The outfit is based off of Towa’s (specifically Darkness Towa) and originally this was going to be his version of Dark Danny, but it messed with other lore stuff I have planned out, and I’d rather give it to regular Danny anyway to add another cool thing to his arsenal :P I’m still working on the specifics, but generally he slips into this form when he’s super pissed off and will abuse his time powers to kick someone’s teeth in XP This form has a tremendous power output, and while Danny has vast reserves of energy, he’ll burn through them if he’s not careful :o Gotta say, this design is probably my favorite, definitely fun to draw X3

I’ve had quite a few questions thrown in my direction regarding this image, so I decided it would probably be wise to talk a bit more about the Holly Jolly Tumblr Squad badge.
So, what is this image about? The original image is of a pin, sold in a set, and created by a pair of artists who go by the name Fiendies.  They used to create ornaments and all manner of cool, occult/spooky-themed merchandise, and my family and I fell in love with their stuff as soon as a friend showed them to us.  Being as we weren’t terribly well off, we couldn’t afford their merch, so they (along with many other sites and vendors) went onto our “maybe another year” dream list.  We did that a lot with things, my family isn’t well off. Anyway, I’m kind of a huge winter-holidays fanatic, thanks in large part to my friend Samantha (who kind of made a campaign one year to cure me of some trauma-based Grinchness).  I’m a big believer in spreading good during this season, trying to help people remember their empathy and their hope during the winter.  Sama coined this “warrior of holiday spirit” mindset “the Holly-Jolly-Pants.”  She was, and of course will always be, the first wearer of said Pants, and my inspiration every year. In an odd turn of events last year in 2018 while the boys and I were trying to construct a happy holiday for our recently expanded family, I received this pin from my ex in the mail, as a holiday gift.  It was particularly timely and significant to me, as I’d spent about two days designing little holiday things for people, including a bunch of little graphics.  I’d grabbed a bunch of images off google search trying to find a way to represent the magic of the Yule season, and had settled on some crossed peppermint sticks which shaped into a heart, so getting the badge at the end (before I’d even sent those images to anyone yet) was particularly surprising.  It felt like I’d made Santa’s list, y’know? Yeah yeah, I know, I’m sentimental.  Anyway, I took it up as a call to “keep up the good work,” sort of a mystical kudos from my gods and spirits, and I wore it all through the winter until just before March. That’s when I found out that Fiendies was shutting down their site, and no longer making ornaments or merchandise, because people were copying their ideas and undercutting their sales (their prices weren’t even that high!) and basically driving them out of business.  That was seriously uncool.  I put the badge away for next year, used it briefly in 2019 for some magic on my Facebook, and then COVID and my breakup happened, and I didn’t get a chance to think about any of it again until November. Fiendies reopened, in a more limited capacity, which I say is badass and yay for their triumph!  And I decided that this year, I was going to make their pin an emblem of hope, joy, and everything Holly Jolly.  Their merchandise sat on the wishlist of my boys and I for years privately, and so I created and offered up the image to Jasie’s Witchy Wishlists, as sort of a thank you and a tribute.  It represents the spirit of Holly Jolly, so feel free to use it as you like!
Ok, but why’s it blue?  The original image was red and gold, right? Yup.  The image I used in the crafting of the above image was the original promo image Fiendies used to sell their pins.  I didn’t use an image of my own pin, for several reasons, not the least of which is that I’m a terrible photographer. Anyway, I recolored their image blue for a couple reasons.   First, Tumblr’s blue, and this image is specifically for Tumblr folks.  Y’all inspire me, and I wanted to make something that represented everything I was feeling. Second, red is one of my favorite colors, but not this year.  I live in the USA, it was an election year and... let’s just say seeing blue everywhere is very much a sign of hope for me and everyone I care for. There are other reasons in addition to this, but those are a good enough explanation.
What should it be used for? Well, I don’t get to decide that entirely.  It was a gift, after all.  I made it for anyone following and participating in Jasie’s Witchy Wishlists, originally.  It stands for hope, compassion, and it’s hopefully a banner to those who care for others and protect the good in this world. If you want to repost it (and yes, feel free to just repost it, I don’t need credit or anything), I hope you’ll do so as someone who lifts a banner for those virtues, against the cruelty of winter and hardship.  I also would personally take it as a kindness if people posted it as a banner against bullying, abuse, and theft, considering what Fiendies went through.  That’s what I’ll see when I see it posted elsewhere- someone who’s joined the Holly Jolly Tumblr Squad, and is trying to promote and support those virtues.
Anything else? Please support Fiendies and go buy things from them!  Please support the Witchy Wishlists and Jasie!  Those are the only other important things I can think of.  Oh, and please stay safe and healthy this season.

“Damn that Tsukishima… comparing me to an animal...” Even after practice Hinata was still fuming.
Yachi followed closely behind. “There, there, animals are cute! And when you jump like ‘bam’! It gives off a very animalistic aura,” she piped.
“... Animalistic?”
 TRANSLATORS NOTE:
Please do NOT repost this translation ANYWHERE. If I see the whole thing elsewhere I will stop translating novel chapters and delete all chapter translations I have done. Sharing small snippets are okay but not the whole thing. Please link back to this tumblr post if you want to share it.
Perhaps Hinata was imagining a puma or a tiger pouncing, which had him grinning.
Speaking of jumping power, it is said that cheetahs and pumas can leap one hundred and fifty times their body length, but that is a topic for another time.
“Wait a second, was it really about that? I don’t think Tsukishima meant it that way…”
Yachi turned to Hinata who was frowning again and replied wholeheartedly. “Hinata you should think about everything positively! I’m trying to practice looking at the bright side of things too, even though it is a little bit difficult… If I let my guard down, thoughts of death begin to plague me.”
“That sounds rough.”
“I try my best.”
Both of them stopped to show respects to each other’s problems by bowing their heads before heading off again. The dry winter air began to tug at their cheeks, and to stop the cold from nipping at him, Hinata readjusted his scarf.
Grabbing his bike and leaving the parking lot, Hinata looked up at the already dark sky, stars glimmering. “All the third years sure are studying hard.”
“Well, they are taking university entrance exams. I’m sure that’ll be us in no time.” Yachi nodded in agreement, and for some reason Hinata reeled in shock. “Even though we’ve just started high school!?”
“Not at all, it’s almost been a year.” Yachi laughed nervously.
Second term was ending soon and as soon as the short third term ends they’d be second years. The current third years would graduate and new students would come.
It was hard to believe.
“Time really does fly.”
In response to the deflated Hinata’s words, Yachi replied, “Study hard while you are young, boys grow old easily and it makes learning harder.” She nodded but suddenly turned pale, shouting, “Wait! That means even if I’ve avoided danger up until now, I’ll encounter something dangerous in my senescence*!? ”
“Huh? Sentence?” Hinata asked, but Yachi, with the face of a cornered animal, clenched her fists.
“Hinata, let’s study while we’re still young!”
“Wha-!?”
“There’s no time to waste! Let’s go!”
Yachi suddenly broke into a sprint, with Hinata fumbling to get onto his bike to follow after her.
                                                              ***
 “W-where are we!?”
The two stopped at a book store by the station which closed late. Looking at the shelves filled with books, Yachi sighed, “There are so many books… do you think I can get through all of these before I die?”
“I’ll take this one.” In Hinata’s hands was ‘Learn through manga for High school entrance exams – Math edition’. Was Hinata going to retake the high school entrance exam?
However Yachi calmly nodded. “It’s important to find something that matches your own ability.”
“I see. You’re right. Then how about this one…” Hinata pulled out one of the many past university entrance exam question books lined up on the shelf.
“Do you think the third years are solving all these past questions for their preferred universities?” asked Yachi.
“Past questions?”
“These books have all the questions that were in the past entrance exams.”
“There isn’t much point looking at questions that have been in past exams is there?” Hinata asked curiously.
If he were asking Tsukishima, he would have gotten a glare from him before he left the room, explaining nothing. But it was Yachi who was described as “amazing” by Tsukishima. She would explain so Hinata could understand.
“There may be questions that are similar to past ones, so if you understand the general trend of the questions you can formulate some strategies to answer them. Just like in volleyball where you watch previous matches of the opponent you’re up against.”
“Ohh, so that’s what it means.” Now understanding, Hinata flipped through the book nonchalantly. “I see. I see. Even I can do this.” Before quickly shutting up. “…Hm.”
To not hurt the frowning Hinata any further, Yachi shyly spoke, “These are for National universities …So it would be difficult for everyone, not just you.”
But Hinata’s difficult expression didn’t change as he glared at the book. “W-wait a second.”
“Huh? You know the answer?”
“No…” he replied, swinging his head to face Yachi. “This question asks about wheat and peppers and apples and rice…doesn’t it all sound delicious?”
Delicious?
Were entrance exam questions ever about whether something was delicious or not?
Yachi took the book from Hinata’s hands with a “let me have a look” and laughed in relief. “Oh it’s just a geography question. The prefecture indicated as number 1 on this map is Aomori prefecture… here the production of wheat and apples is the highest, so the answer is b. The one marked 2 is Niigata prefecture and with a high production of rice the answer would be c. Oh and number 3 is Miyazaki prefecture so it’s peppers. Due to the effects of the Japan Current the weather is warm here, even in winter, so they can be produced out of season. So the answer is peppers.”
“C-come again?” Hinata’s face went pale and he took a step back. Yachi panicked and looked over the book again. “Sorry, did I get that wrong?”
As Yachi muttered to herself, pouring over the book, Hinata asked with a serious expression, “Are you planning to take over Japan?”
“What?”
“Why are you so well informed about every nook and cranny of the country?”
“Huh?”
                                         ***
In this bookstore there was another member of the Karasuno volleyball club. With the ‘Monthly Volleyball’ volleyball magazine in his hands was Kageyama. Standing before the shelf of sports magazines he muttered to himself, “Yachi-san…tako-pho...”
At that moment Kageyama’s stomach rumbled. The image of Yachi making an octopus version of pho** surfaced in Kageyama’s mind.
  TRANSLATION NOTES:
-          * senescence: Here Yachi uses a very uncommon word for ‘old age’ pronounced as ‘rousui’ which is the exact same pronunciation for the word that means ‘water leakage’. So I tried to pull a similar joke in translation.
-          **Tako-pho: please let me explain this in detail - Hinata uses the word 牛耳る gyuujiru, meaning ‘to take over’. But in this case Kageyama thinks of the Japanese dish 豚汁 tonjiru, or a soup using pork, but a beef version of it, which would be 牛汁 gyuujiru with the exact same pronunciation. I did my best to replace it with a similar play on words DESPITE Kageyama probably not knowing what pho is. Btw pho is pronounced similar to fir (or fur) (please say take over really fast). Please don’t criticise my pun making skills.
As a small disclaimer:  I have taken some liberties in translation to make the novel read smoothly. So please don’t quote specific words as canon. That being said I tried my best to stay faithful to the original.  For this reason I will not allow translations into another language using this as the base text. I apologise to anyone who is keen on sharing it in another language but please do so using the original Japanese text.
Anyway, if you enjoyed this chapter please consider supporting Haikyuu and buying a copy of this novel (volume 11) ! I may consider doing more novel translations in the future!
I do have a Ko-fi so if you do feel like it, please donate!

Tumblr media
TL;DR at the end.
A few months ago, I dug into insulting the bastards that steal art and either claim it as their own, don’t credit the image, or put the generic “pictures belong to respective artists” bullshit. Well now I flip to the other side of the scale and insult the artists who, in their infinite stupidity, decide that the best way to combat these reposters is to delete all their art and pretty much vanish from the face of the Internet. Little do these clowns realize that this doesn’t do shit, seeing as all that reposted art is still there. All the retarded artist has done is removed pretty much any chance anybody—like myself—has to trace the art back to the artist and actually provide proper crediting. So now a piece of art floats around the internet, and most, if not all, links back to the artist have been destroyed by the artist. Congratulations, all you have done is removed any chance you have of receiving the recognition you deserve.
Do my words sting you? Are you perhaps one such idiot who has done this for this exact reason? Good! It may not seem like much, but I am fanatical about properly crediting artists. How fanatical, you may ask? The most time I have ever spent trying to trace down the artist of a single piece of art is approximately 28 hours. That’s 1.16 days, in case you’re bad at math. And that’s not total search-time, that is active search-time, in that I was actively searching for the artist of that image. I did eventually find the artist. Probably, at least. I say probably because, as it turns out, the artist deleted the original source of the image. All lines of reasoning and evidence point to this specific artist being the one who drew the image I had, but there’s still that 1% chance I may be wrong, and have credited the wrong person.
Now you may be asking how this could possibly relate to Undertale AUs and OCs? That is, indeed, an excellent question to ask. The answer to that question being that this is extremely related. Most of the art that was originally posted in the starting years of the Undertale fandom can now only be found on sites that are built upon the foundation of stolen art; like Pinterest, Amino, and Reactor. Thousands of copies of the same exact image decorate the river of refuse that are these sites, and not a single hint of the original posting. While many, many artists within the Undertale community have deleted all their work, one specific group within the community springs instantly to mind when the above actions are mentioned, and that is most of the Korean artists, like kkhoppang. For those that don’t know, they’re the one that created Apocalypsetale and Swapfell. Pretty big deal. Well, apparently, many of the Korean artists got sick of seeing their art reposted without their permission, and they got the brilliant idea to coordinate what was essentially the Internet-version of a mass-suicide cult; deleting all their stuff and vanishing from the face of creation. Now, whenever a piece of art from their side of the fandom appears and I want to trace it back, it’s rare that I’ll actually find the original artist.
Wrapping it all up, it’s for this very reason (artists vanishing and destroying all their shit when they leave) that I have decided, despite talking deep shit on reposters both here and in my last post of this regard, I am going to be reposting deleted Undertale art, stories, etc. to this tumblr blog. Of course, I will do my best to properly credit the artists, and will seldom repost the piece of art unless I can figure out who the hell made it. Of course, I don’t choose to take this course of action lightly, especially with my hatred of reposters, but maybe it’s because of my wrath of reposters that I take this; to actually find the crediting for those popular pieces of art that are everywhere, yet nobody knows who made them. On that note, I should probably mention that, in the event I do end up posting a piece of art without actually finding the artist, I refuse to do such a thing without having spent many hours working on finding the OP.
Anyway, I know this was a long and messy post (sorry). TL;DR. Fuck reposters, and fuck artists that make it difficult/impossible to credit them. I will become what I hate (a reposter) and actually show that sub-human filth how to actually fucking credit shit.
On that note, I should mention my reposting philosophy: reposting an existing piece of art is not something I will do unless I get the artist’s permission. If the artist has deleted the piece of art in question, their opinion is irrelevant to me.

Terran Trade Authority Interview
Okay, this big text-heavy post isn’t from me. You can find it online over at this website. It’s a great interview with Stewart Cowley, author of the Terran Trade Authority sci-fi art book series from 1978-1980.
I’m just reposting this as kind of a backup. Cowley doesn’t have many interviews out there, but his candid thoughts are the best secondary materials out there on the TTA. There’s no reason why the original site would go away (and honestly no reason why this tumblr post won’t be erased either!), but a few redundancies can’t hurt. The rest of this post is in the voice of the original interviewer, Philip Banks:
Some time back I got a very pleasant surprise in the form of an email from Stewart Cowley himself. In fact it was something of a shock for me - it simply wasn't something I expected to get despite having had contact from the other Stewart Cowley who is also writing books. Not only that but he supplied a lot of information on the hows and whys of the books. Accordingly, with his permission, I've taken the emails he sent me and edited them into an interview of sorts. I hope fellow TTA fans find it as interesting to read as I did.
Without further ado, here is Stewart himself...
(Stewart Cowley) Someone mentioned your site to me so I checked it out. It brought back a host of memories. Spacecraft 2000-2100AD was the first book I ever wrote and represented a major point of change in my life. I was working as a graphic designer when I had the idea. I was doing work with an illustration agency called Young Artists based in London UK. They happened to represent a new generation of brilliant artists working in the SF arena, and I was really excited about their work. The only outlet for their illustrations at the time were paperback covers, but I felt convinced more could be done with the amazing images they were producing.
I persuaded them to loan me file transparencies of art samples and had them stuck on my lightbox for a couple of weeks. I'd look at them every day, trying to think how they could be utilised. Then one day I remembered a book I'd had seen as a child. It was Jane's Fighting Ships - a survey of the world's navies - and it hit me. Spacecraft 2000-2100 AD was born. Being a designer rather than a writer, I tried to find someone to author the project but couldn't find anyone with the same vision as I had. I wanted someone who could not only create specifications for the spacecraft shown, but set them in a believeable historic context.
I had already discussed the project with Hamlyn Publishing who wanted to do it and issued a contract. As I was running out of time, I started writing it myself and sent sample text to them to keep them quiet to buy time until I could find a suitable author. They liked it, so I thought, what the hell, and finished it. The rest is history as they say.
(Philip Banks) That actually answers a question I was going to ask , which was whether Janes Fighting Ships was an inspiration for the first book particularly.
(SC) The book went on to sell 800,000 copies in eight languages so they asked me to do a sequel. Space Battles was produced in 3 weeks and as you rightly point out in your review, suffered in quality as a result. That also did well, nevertheless, and they commissioned a further title. The strong sales of both books gave me more clout and I was able to insist on having more time to complete the following two titles; Spacewreck and Starliners.
I'm afraid I must also own up to the Galactic Encounters series by Steven Caldwell. I'm not proud of those six books. I was approached by another publisher to write for them, and they offered me enough money for me to quit my job as a designer and become a full-time writer. I confess that I just did it for the dough and all I had to work with were the images that I had rejected for my earlier books. It wasn't only for contractual reasons that I used the pseudonym of Steven Caldwell. So that's the story behind the TTA in a nutshell.
Incidentally, there isn't a combo of the second two TTA titles as far as I'm aware.
(PB) What was the idea behind the combo books? Simply a way for the publisher to re-use material and get more sales or was it a way to do a reprint of the first two books when the later two came out?
(SC) The combo was the publisher's response to requests from their customers who apparently felt there was a demand for it.
(PB) You mentioned pretty much authoring the series entirely yourself - how did Charles Herridge, co-author on Great Space Battles, fit into the picture?
(SC) Charles was the publisher who commissioned the books from me. Because of the almost impossible deadline he contributed some of the storylines and worked closely with me on others so I felt he should share the writing credit.
(PB) Whose idea was the 'Space Warriors' book? It seems to have been the idea of the TTA Books stripped down and targeted at nine to twelve year old readers, so was it a publisher request?
(SC) The request for a title for younger readers came from a publisher (Deans, I think). I was still living in the world of TTA and decided to keep the context for the stories in this title.
(PB) Is this the only direct spin off book from the TTA series?
(SC) Yes, as far as I'm aware. However, there may have been references to the TTA in the Galactic Encounter series, but I haven't looked these for about 25 years so might be wrong.
(PB) It has to be asked, what was the story behind the 'pasta master' modelmaking running joke?
(SC) I'd forgotten about this but it was a nickname I earned at that time because as my friends constantly reminded me it was the only thing I could cook. In order to try and interest some interest in my limited catering, I used to build exotic constructions out of pasta shells, giant clams, alien heads etc.,and stuck together with melted cheese to hide the unchanging sauces beneath.
(PB) Did any of the artists featured in the books thank you for promoting their work via these books? Do any keep in contact with you?
(SC) Yes. After the success of the first book, some of them got more involved and I worked with them on the selections. One or two had not done a lot of work before and the exposure in the books got them more work. I did stay in contact with one or two, like Chris Foss who went on to great things, but the currents of life eventually took us different ways.
(PB) Where you aware that the TTA books were a big influence on the two Homeworld games made by Relic?
(SC) Not at all. I didn't even know about them. If that's true, it's nice to know that the books meant something to some people. Most writers don't really get much in the way of feedback on their work and positive responses mean a lot.
(PB) Which is your favourite book of the series and why?
(SC) The first one was a milestone because it helped to change my life and created lots of opportunities for me. As a book, though, Spacewreck is my personal favourite. Space itself is a mysterious place and I loved the idea of astro-archaeology - starting with a mysterious artefact and working back to try and unravel it's story. Even if it is fiction, the process embodies the same sense of curiosity and a sense of the truly alien.
(PB) Was it a surprise to find a website out there dedicated to your books? Indeed are you surprised at how popular these books have turned out to be?
(SC) A complete surprise! Especially after so many years. When I wrote these, I don't remember there even being a world wide web available to people!
I want to thank Stewart for taking the time to answer these questions in such a candid fashion. Not only were the answers informative but it has solved a long standing mystery as readers of the TTA pages had been emailing me for some time about the Galatic Encounters series being very similar to the TTA books.

This person started the stalking on deviantArt, but has also posted the stolen artwork on here, and has harassed a fellow artist for about 3 years. The original beware is on dA and is linked above, but I’ll share a few examples below and under a readmore, I will show the beware as it is written on dA.
This is beware is about the tumblr user @pipermccloud / @the-sly-fox-artist / @stefano-and-obscura / @oka-and-kokona-against-bullcrap / @ask-albert-vanderboom
Not only did they trace, copy, and color-pick designs from another artist, but they stalked him, harassed him, tried to frame him for various things, emotionally manipulate him and others, and continually block-evaded when he made it very clear he no longer wanted any contact.
Some Examples of tracing/theft before the Readmore:

The Full Beware Below
Disclaimer: The purpose of this journal is for awareness purposes only. It is to make the community aware of activity happening that is harmful and causing someone harm. This journal is not to be used to bait or harm others; only to spread awareness. If I see others using this journal to perpetuate harm, they will be blocked and no longer have access to this journal.
This is unfortunately a continuing issue, which I had tried to be resolved privately, but has been going on for years. Paper-Piper / TheOneWhoInks / lil-ol-cricket-bug (also known as oka-and-kokona-against-bullcrap, pipermccloud, ask-albert-vanderboom, the-sly-fox-artist, and stefano-and-obscura on tumblr) has been stalking another user, a friend of mine named Elias here, best known as LambRot.
Due to the fact that this stalking, harassment, and purposeful theft, I'm going to have to break this journal down into segments. I'm going to try to go into chronological order, but this has been an issue going on for years, so apologies if I make some minor mistakes. This is going to be a long journal, and I apologize for that, but it has been years of harassment and stalking.
1. The Start of Harassment
The character was reposted due to the rude comment deterring from the art, and them throwing a fit.

Tumblr media
The comment chain is no longer attached to the art, but the comment chain remains:
They chose to not leave it at that, and tried to play it off, despite several people telling them what they did was inappropriate. Warning that some of the comments on the journal are also innappropriate, and not the best way to react to the situation:

  In Case of Removal: archive.is/cickf
After this, to harass him further, Piper went on to actually copy his character designs despite their criticism of his style.

Piper got caught, and their response was to once again, blame the original artist for not being able to take "criticism" instead of acknowledging that they purposely copied and harassed the user.

They chose to contact me on my previous account, the one I had confronted them on in the past, acting as though nothing had happened.
The stash links in the notes went to this, which just shows that I had originally discussed with them that it was evident that they had mimicked designs.
 •  sta.sh/2bjcy1jfz7k
They admitted to stalking and harassing Elias, to doing this out of a sick enjoyment on their Quotev. They denied being this user previously, but were unable to prove themselves innocent, refused to report identity theft to Quotev, or do anything to actually show that this wasn't them. Not to mention their other multiple accounts, the personal info their shared on this account, and others, it was obvious that this was in fact them.

2. Continuous Stalking
The harassment initially started Sep 21, 2017. Unfortunately, it did not end even that year. Piper went on to continue to steal/mimic/reference designs from Elias. The journal is old and unfortunately, because the deviations were removed, it is missing the pictures Piper made, but I have screenshots to show what they were. The journal is for proper timestamp purposes.
https://www.deviantart.com/lambrot/journal/Paper-piper-is-back-and-still-stealing-769747930
Some of these designs were stolen a whole year later. They were obviously still watching Elias and what content he was making. It was discovered later that they used an alt account of theirs to follow him and stalk him.

There were even more, but I didn't think to save all the evidence at the time. I thought that would be the last time this person was going to copy and harass Elias. They had been caught twice, I thought this was over with.
Not only were they trying to copy and reference his designs, but they were reposting his art on Quotev, still criticizing his work despite their trying to get away with copying him.

When we found it on Quotev:

It happened more than once sadly.
The Quotev, one of many:
Tumblr media
This doesn't even take into account the various comments they made on tumblr, prolonging drama. If I find more screenshots of that in either my archives or in the archives of someone else affected, I will add them.
Also chose to use their alt accounts to bait Lambrot into action, trying to get him to react to their harassment:
Tumblr media
They also went on to impersonate him on ponytown. There were a few messages like this sent to Lambrot, and Piper denied being the one, but even before he started getting messages, the same day Piper was seen continuously getting on and trying to see his account for activity, which is highly suspicious, like they obviously knew what was going on.

3. Continual and Consistent Theft
Fast forward to now, 2020, this user is still an issue. There is more traced, referenced, and blatantly stolen characters. It is obvious that they have been still trying to stalk/watch Lambrot, after 3 years.

Tumblr media
Piper has been a stalker, emotionally abusive, and even went so far as to impersonate him on ponytown and harass people to try and make him appear hostile.
There's much, much more theft of characters, more traced images, more color-picked and copied designs, but at this point the journal has gotten long and I think the point has been made clear. I've made a stash with more evidence of copied characters, tracing, and overall proof of stalking:
-- sta.sh/21crbhj20uqn --
This person has gone out of their way to harass Lambrot for years, stalked him continuously, obsess over him and block-evade multiple times. The worst part isn't that they've been stealing this long, but that they've made it a mission to purposely try to harm someone. This isn't some off the cuff petty act; this is premeditated at this point, calculated, and Piper has gone out of their way to try to defame Lambrot not only on this site, but on tumblr as well.
To Note:
Lambrot wants nothing to do with Piper. He wants no connection with Piper, he does not want to talk to Piper at all. Piper was blocked for a reason that exact day they chose to be rude on one of his pieces, and he has every right to block someone and not interact with them. Their behavior towards him, the copying, the stalking, and the continued baiting has given him no reason to ever want to make amends or speak to them ever again.
I had at one point offered to be Lambrot's representative and speak to Piper to try to reach a resolution, and Piper continued to ignore that invitation even at the request of a "friend" of theirs.
Blocking has not resolved this, reporting to dA has not resolved this, privately trying to resolve this did nothing. This has been going on for years and isn't acceptable.
Please do not cherry pick images and state "poses aren't under copyright," "you can't own colors," or that these are just "coincidence." It's obvious that you can't own colors or positions, and not the argument. These are not coincidence; this person has color-picked and stalked Lambrot for years. If it were not a stalking situation, maybe there would be more room to consider this.

Art reposting etiquette
I see art theft happen a lot, and whether or not it's true or has just been happening more frequently in the circles I follow I can't help but at least feel like it's becoming more and more of a problem.
To be clear, "reposting" is downloading art from a website that you did not make or own, and uploading it as a separate post, regardless of where and how it's presented - with notable exception of header and profile pictures assuming they are not trying to imitate the artist. Not all art theft is reposting, but all improper reposting is art theft.
As cut and dry as "stop art theft it's bad, don't repost art" posts make it sound, there are several benevolent reasons people may want to repost such as:
Believing they are spreading the artist's influence around the internet
Adding intrigue or a visual aid to a fanfiction
Sharing some neat art they thought was really cool
Just to name a few
Assuming the best in people, these are not necessarily bad reasons and DON'T MAKE PEOPLE BAD, but many often don't understand there's a dark side to the reposting issue.
People who may want more art may be unable to find the original creator
People may not realize that the artist makes rent with the very artwork you're enjoying and they may be looking at stolen premium content meant to put food on the table
People take art and further edit it so that it becomes even harder to trace back to the original
Malicious websites and bots find popular fanart and illegally use it to produce bootleg merch. This has a double-whammy effect when someone sees the merch IRL when out and about and wants it because it's cool art of their favorite character but don't realize the artist is actively being robbed.
Reposting art makes it harder for the artist to track down the thief and take legal action as well as actively funnels traffic away from their business. By and large it should always be assumed that reposting for any reason is damaging to the artist's wellbeing; and frankly, if you don't care you're actively hurting someone, it makes you the asshole, not me for calling you out.
But, that isn't to say reposting is NEVER allowed, but ONLY UNDER EXTREMELY SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES. That's the point of this post.
Before you can decide if you should even attempt to repost art, check these things first:
If it says directly on the art "do not repost" don't waste your time. They are not going to make an exception for you.
Check to see if the art is already on the platform you're planning to upload to (especially here on Tumblr). Often, artists make it a point to put their work in very specific locations for their own reasons. They may not want their work on your website at all and you need to respect that.
Gain the artist's explicit permission after explaining where you want to repost their work, which work you want to repost, and why with how you plan to credit them. If you gain permission, keep a copy of the conversation for your own protection. If you do not gain permission, don't repost at all.
If you gain permission to repost art, these things are an absolute necessity:
Mention of the artist's name
THEIR main platform of choice
link to the original piece used
It would likely look something like this:
Artwork uploaded with express permission by @[artist] on [website], found here - (hyperlinked to original piece)
Bonus information to include:
Additional social media handles of the artist
Link to the artist's Patreon and/or Ko-Fi if available
Link to artist's store if available
Hyperlinking the image itself so other users can just click it to find the work/artist
Remember reposting should be about the artist, NOT YOU. You didn't create the work, and even if you supported them via Patreon it still doesn't belong to you, nor are you entitled to it. A commission you personally paid for is the only piece of work of that artist's creation you are ever entitled to unless otherwise stated in a contract when you bought it.
To continue to cover my bases I'm going to address some stances that may pop up about the issue:
"I didn't know reposting was that bad!"
It's okay. That's why I made this post. In general, as a supportive fan and consumer you should try to learn how artists are rewarded for their work on different platforms. YouTube is different from Instagram is different from Facebook is different from Tumblr. Learn which best ways to support your favorite artists in the ways that are most beneficial to them, even if all they ask for is respect and a little appreciation. And do take down any art you may have reposted. It can continue to do damage by remaining up, but removing it almost always mitigates any future harm and genuinely helps. Now you know better and can be better moving forward!
"I can't get ahold of the artist for permission."
Don't repost it then. Remember, at the end of the day reposting is only good for the reposter in fake internet points or actual money/intellectual property stolen but always tangibly hurts the artist. It sucks, but they have a right to determine where and how their hard work is displayed.
"Whatever, I'll do what I want. Lol"
Enjoy your takedown. Hey, artists, did you know you can find each website's terms of service and figure out how to submit a report with the offending post and user, and they're usually good about getting it down within days?! Look for "misappropriation" that's your ticket! 😊
But seriously, repeat offenders can get permanently banned from sites and even sued for actual real-world money and damages over your precious fake internet points. It actually pays to not be an ass!
"But I just want to support the artist and reposting is so easy!"
You know what's even easier?
Tumblr media
It's literally only one or two clicks to support the artist or tell them how much you love their work! Most other platforms make supporting content creators just as easy, and some platforms even PAY the creators based on them or enable them to grasp opportunities to be paid!
"But I don't want to bog down my followers with a huge reblog dump of one person's stuff."
Put it in queue to space it out, then.
"I don't have money to support the artist so I repost instead to give them exposure."
Time and time again it's been proven that reposting actively funnels money AWAY from them. You don't have to monetarily support them with much. Buy one thing from their store or give them $1 on Ko-Fi. If you can't even do that, tell them you love their stuff and shout to the rooftops where someone else can pay them; but don't make it harder for them to get paid. Too many artists "die of exposure."
"Why do you even care?"
I AM an artist. I currently support artists with real money monthly because I love their work. I only ever make money off my own art on commissions, and that relies on people being able to find me. I'm not even the one supporting my two children, husband, pet, and medical expenses with only this option to pay for it, and you bet your butt I still would be pissed if I ever found out my art had been misappropriated. Some people do this to SURVIVE and I want to see that those who do have as little unnecessary struggle with it as possible.
"It's fanart/fan content put on the internet for free I can do whatever I want with it!"
At least in North America the law says you can't. Did you know that the way laws are currently written, if someone takes a picture of you and finds a way to make money off that photo they don't owe you a dime? They hold the copyright to it. When art is displayed publicly, that copyright is not surrendered and is automatically afforded to the artist by virtue of it being their specific expression and work. By being their work, they can actually sue you for stealing their property.
Ask Disney, they're really good at it.
And to close this out I want to say one more thing: the internet has changed a LOT in the time I started browsing from the early 2000's. Rules are different, cultures are different, and for younger people especially you may not understand how some have had to (and still do) fight tooth and nail over this internet space and still make it.
If you didn't know all this, THAT'S OKAY! You're learning, and the internet is more or less a wild west right now. That means it's equal opportunity to be a killing field or a place we can lift up and support each other. Reposting is just one corner of the bad things that can come of it, but now you know how to help and even start reversing the damage.
Learn about how people who upload free content make money. When you find misappropriated work, report them to the site and try to inform the artist - don't even acknowledge the thief, just slap a ticket on them and move on. Teach others how and why reposting is bad and what they can do to help.
If you love free content, show respect and protect it. Otherwise, artists will have to put it behind a paywall and that content you loved will disappear over time. Respect will get you a much greater return than entitlement.

How To Grow Your Blog Traffic Using Tumblr

That’s the social media dream, right? To set it and forget it, and gain thousands of followers without even trying or thinking about it?
To be honest, getting 8k followers on Tumblr in 5 months without ever logging in was never my intention.
Tumblr was distracting me from my “real work” so I thought I needed to take a break. I actually forgot about my account. Then months later thought I’d check up on it. Imagine my surprise when I saw how much it had grown.
The last time I was on I only had 500 followers. I spent that entire day studying analytics, reblogging cool pictures, and optimizing my Tumblr page to drive traffic back to my website.
Though it seems like my Tumblr blew up on its own, there was actually a very important seed that I planted, and several strategies that I implemented, that made it’s growth possible.
Let me show you how I did it. I’ve broken it down into 7 easy steps.
Oh and here are some pictures so you know I’m not just blowing steam.
This is my account back in early 2016 with only 300 followers.

And here’s my account in Oct 2016 with just over 8,000 followers.

And just since rediscovering my Tumblr and writing this article I’ve gained another 500.

Steps to grow your Tumblr account
Choose your niche
The very first step to growing your Tumblr blog is to narrow your niche. Blogs that have specific topics tend to do better and attract more attention.
Colorful Gradients and Ghost Photographs are both examples of a super narrow niche.
But you also want to make sure to choose a niche that you’re passionate about — I mean that’s kinda the whole point in the first place.
Your niche determines what sort of content you will be posting.
Also, you don’t necessarily have to use the same exact niche as your main blog or website (if you have one). For example, my main blog Launch Your Dream is about following your dreams and it’s mostly focused on how to start a successful blog.
Save
My Tumblr blog, Eli Seekins, is also about following your dreams but is more focused on travel, adventure and lifestyle.
Save
The trick is to find something narrow that you enjoy.
For more tips on picking your niche, check out my post: How To Discover Your Perfect Niche (the Blogging Wizard — Adam — drops a mega helpful tip over there as well).
Know your brand
Your Tumblr is an extension of your brand, whether you are just starting one or already have one.
You want your brand to have a clear message. You need an edge — something that other brands don’t have. You need to know your values, what you stand for, and your mission.
That way you will always know what sort of content to post. Your brand will be clear and thorough, and people will get it.
When people get it, they have a better chance of connecting. And when they connect, they have a better chance of engaging and even sharing.
Knowing your brand also means knowing your audience. Who are you trying to reach? What sort of content do they like most?
(My brand is about following your dreams, travel, adventure, and lifestyle. I’m reaching out to young people who want to do something big with their lives. I value things like working hard, taking risks, and making a difference in the world.)
Here are 3 brands that are crushing it on Tumblr:
Adidas
Save
Sesame Street
Save
LIFE
Save
All three of these brands know who they are and who their audience is, and they do a great job of translating that over to their Tumblr.
For more help with branding, check out: 9 Tips for Creating an Awesome Brand
Follow popular accounts in your niche
A great way to find good content to repost, and to find out what people in your niche are responding to, is to check out the popular blogs in your niche.
It’s pretty easy to find them. Just look for the blogs who are posting a lot every day, who get lots of notes, and have a large following.
To get started just search for different keywords.
Save
And check out the different accounts.
Save
I’d follow anywhere from 50 – 100 blogs right away.
Reblog quality content 1 – 3 times a day (by using your queue)
One of the greatest tools in Tumblr is your queue.
Save
You can fill it with up to 300 posts, and set a certain amount of those posts to automatically publish throughout different times of the day.
In my opinion, your queue is perfect for filling up with loads of content to reblog (reblog means to repost someone else’s content on your Tumblr blog). And I just schedule my original stuff. That way I’m always sharing content, and I can schedule my content to post whenever I want and at peak times.
I often experiment with reblogging anywhere from 1 – 50 posts a day.
For those 5 months that I didn’t log into my account, when I gained 8,000 followers, I had about 200 reblogs in my queue set to share 1 photo a day at 9pm. And I wasn’t even sharing any original content.
Typically the bigger your audience grows the more content you can post. I don’t recommend sharing more than 3-5 posts a day until you get your first 1,000 followers.
You can find good content to reblog on the popular blogs that you’ve followed, by searching keywords in the search bar, or just by checking out your dashboard feed.
Then all you have to do is hit the queue button.
Save
You can change your queue settings over in the menu on the right.
Save
Include relevant hashtags
Hashtags in Tumblr are the keywords that make your posts searchable. They’re very important for getting your content seen.
You can find popular hashtags by doing a search and seeing what people are looking for.
And by typing in different tags in a post to see what people are using.
Save
Make sure that you use tags that are popular and relevant to your niche AND relevant to the content you are tagging. Just so you know only the first 20 tags that you use are actually searchable (source).
Use a call to action
I was surprised by how few people were using call to actions when I first started implementing these strategies. Since then, it seems like some popular accounts in my niche have caught on though.
Save
Save
That’s because call to actions are powerful. It’s how this post has gotten almost 15,000,000 notes, by simply saying “pass it on”.
It’s great if your posts get a lot of attention, but if your viewers aren’t doing anything after they see your content what’s the point? Don’t you want them to take action?
All of your posts should include some sort of call to action, whether it’s to bring viewers to your Tumblr blog, to your main site, or somewhere different — or even to just get likes and reblogs.
At first, I felt kinda weird putting call to actions on other people’s content that I was reposting, but it’s ok to do if you do it right. And it can make a big difference. Just make sure to be genuine. For example, don’t repost someone’s original photo and use it to promote your ebook or video course. That’s kinda sleezy. But leaving a call to action on reblogs to like, reblog, or check out more of your posts is totally ok and can increase your engagement and get you more followers.
Warning
Always ensure that the creator of images you share retain credit. It can sometimes be difficult to to figure out who originally shared something on Tumblr – reblog’s usually link to the person who you reblogged it from. But we recommend trying to credit the original author if you can. And whatever you do, never remove a credit link. And try to share original content when you can – you’ll get more traction if you do.

Use keyboard shortcuts to supercharge the speed of your workflow
I’m gonna be honest, filling up your queue with hundreds of posts is a lot of work — it eats up your time. I even considered quitting Tumblr for good because of how much time it takes.
One of the things that bothers me the most is that you can’t copy paste hashtags. You have to type each one in individually. And if you’re using 5 – 20 tags per post and have 300 posts in your queue…. that’s a lot of typing hashtags.
It took me a little bit of time to figure out, but I have my Tumblr workflow down to a system. I can’t even imagine how much time it saves me.
It’s all based on Mac Mastro (I use a mac, but if you’re a pc guy check out AutoHotkey or Quick Macros). This app allows me to save multiple different presets of titles, tags, and call to actions into keyboard shortcuts. So all I have to do is press a button combination on my keyboard and everything is automatically typed out for me. That way I don’t have to keep typing the same things over and over again hundreds — even thousands of times.
I’ll show you what I mean…
Here’s an example of my workflow, hotkeys, and scripts that I use.
1. Find a post to reblog
Save
2. Add a call to action with a hotkey
Save
Mac Mastro allows you to save multiple different actions to one hotkey, that way when you press the hotkey you can just click whichever one you want to use, then it types it for you.
3. Format your CTA and add a link if appropriate (again using a hotkey)
Save
4. Add tags (using a hotkey)
Save
5. Add to queue and you’re done
Save
The whole process takes a matter of seconds and dramatically decreases the amount of time it would normally take.
To create a new hotkey with Mac Mastro:
1. Go to File and then New Macro.
2. Add a new hotkey trigger. And then press whatever keys you want your hotkey to be.

3. Add a new action
4. Search for and click “ Execute an AppleScript”

5. Insert your script
Here are examples of the different scripts I use in Mac Mastro.
This is what I use for all my CTAs and links.
on run tell application "System Events" delay 0.25 keystroke "What You Want Typed Here" end tell end run
And this is what I use for all my tags.
on run tell application "System Events" delay 0.25 keystroke "tag 1" keystroke return delay 0.1 keystroke "tag 2" keystroke return delay 0.1 keystroke "tag 3" keystroke return delay 0.1 keystroke "tag 4" keystroke return delay 0.1 keystroke "tag 5" keystroke return end tell end run
Just put whatever you want your hotkey to type between the quotes after “keystroke”.
Tags are a little more tricky because you need the script to press enter after each one. That’s why there are delays and extra keystrokes.
And that’s it. Whenever you hit your hotkey it will type out whatever the script is set to type.
Extra Tumblr tips
Don’t try to sell
Save
At Least not at first when you are trying to grow. You can’t focus both on selling and getting followers at the same time. And honestly it’s pointless to sell when you don’t have an audience yet.
Plus people get on Tumblr to be entertained. People choose Tumblr over places like Facebook and Linkedin because it’s hip — it’s cool and artistic — it’s where the trend setters and young people go.
And they’re very good at detecting and filtering the content that they want to see. If they see your post, and get any sort of sleazy vibe, they’ll scroll past it without thinking twice.
Use Tumblr as a creative place to experiment and try new things — and especially as a place to post original content.
If your goal is still to sell, think of Tumblr as the top of your funnel, where you create awareness and grow relationships, not where you make your pitch.
Get a custom theme and domain name
Tumblr has a big creative vibe. Creativity and good design is important to a lot of its users. On top of that, Derek Halpern, Hubspot rated the design as the:
#1 thing that influences a viewer in those few seconds when they decide to stay on a website or not…
A study done by Elizabeth Sillence that found 94% of the participants who distrusted a website distrusted it because of its design.
That’s why getting a good looking and practical theme is important.
Just do a quick Google search, or click here to check out some different themes.
Save
Using a custom domain name isn’t necessary. It’s more of a personal and brand choice. And it’s definitely not going to make a big difference when you first get started. But if you want to stand out a little more, go for it. I didn’t start using my personal domain name until my blog caught on and started gaining momentum.
Check out this easy guide by NameCheap for using a custom domain name.
Create original content
Tumblr is a great place for content curators. But anyone can reblog other people’s posts. If you really want to stand out, post original content specifically for your audience on Tumblr that aligns with your brand. It’s also a good place to share your content from other platforms.
For example, I take photos of all my hiking and travel adventures. I pick out individual photos, write small 100 – 500 word micro blogs to go with them, and post one daily on Tumblr.
Save
And I don’t post them anywhere else. I also post daily original quotes that align with my brand.
And I also share all my YouTube videos on my Tumblr blog, as well as all the articles that I write.
Oh and make sure to add a source url of your blog or website whenever you post original stuff, that way you’ll get credit for it. And it will help drive a little bit of traffic for you. Plus getting your links shared on social media will help build your SEO.
So Tumblr is great for 3 things: reblogging quality content, posting original content, and sharing your content from other platforms.
Like I said though, creating original content specifically for Tumblr, is what makes certain bloggers stand out from the rest.
And posting content that’s visual — like photos, videos and GIFs — is a must.
Save
If you’re afraid to post original content because you don’t think it’s good enough, don’t be. Everybody has to start somewhere. You’ll get better the more you create and the more you post. If you look at the original content I first posted on Tumblr, it looks horrible compared to what I’m posting now. Every great blogger and content creator started out bad — seriously. They just practiced and increased their skill as they went along.
So get to work.
Drive traffic
I’m still learning the ropes when it comes to using Tumblr to bring traffic to your main blog or website. But since revamping my Tumblr, linking back to my site, and writing this article, Tumblr has brought 56 visitors to Launch Your Dream, which is more than Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest brought for me during that same time.
One thing to note is that I’m focused on growing my Tumblr following right now, rather than driving traffic to my website. So only something like 1 out of every 50 of my Tumblr posts link to Launch Your Dream. Almost all the rest link back to my Tumblr blog. How much traffic do you think I’d get if I linked to my main site more?
Maybe we’ll find out later.
Only time will tell how effective my new Tumblr will be at driving traffic to my website. But I’m excited to grow this new following, and to see how it impacts my main blog in the future.
Over to you

Hello, there!
I just wanted to let you know that reposting gifs/graphics/pictures that other people have worked really hard on IS stealing! Even saying "credit to" etc doesn't count and is not okay. Tumblr has a built in search gif function that PROPERLY links back to credit the rightful owners and let them know someone liked something of theirs so much and used it for something like a fic! Plus, caratblr is extremely friendly and I'm sure if you asked, they would be happy to assist, help, and/or make banners/headers for you. What you're doing is exactly if people would copy and paste your story and claim it's theirs. Wouldn't be very nice, would it? :(
I'm hoping you meant no harm, as fellow content creators, we should always give proper credit where it's due and look out for one another :) I'm sure you don't want your awesome stories tarnished by the fact that you are reposting other's works as your headers and banners!
Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I know well that I should be giving credit to the rightful owners of the gif as the majority of the gifs I use are not made by me. I did have a plan to go back and reverse image search all of the gifs and find the rightful owners (I do have some links of the original creators of some of the gifs I use - such as tistory blogs) but I have not had the time to do so yet and I already have more than 300 posts containing uncredited gifs or pictures. I used to use the Tumblr gif function but there was not enough variety & gifs that I wanted in what I could find, so I branched out onto different platforms like Pinterest, NAVER, and different search engines for specific gifs that I liked and wanted as a banner for my fic. I am grateful for you to educate me and I will make sure to credit from now on where I found the gifs/pictures, but I'm afraid that a lot of times I won't be able to find the 'original' creator (since people also repost other people's things and spread it).
Again, I am thankful and I'm always grateful to recieve a lesson and learn from my mistakes. I am also genuinely sorry for overlooking it as stealing because I did recognize the problem a long time ago but I did not fix it and thought that not claiming the stuff as mine or erasing watermarks would be enough, continuing to overlook it as a problem. Since I saw many people all over Tumblr, Wattpad, and in social media overall using pictures that weren't made by them, I guess a part of me thought it was okay too. I also thought it would be too much of a hassle to ask every creator of a gif if I could use their gif since a lot of them had been no longer active. My mindset then was also immature and just "oh, it's not actually theirs because they just cropped & cut a video from seventeen so it's technically seventeen's" which was a super bad mindset that I forgot about but once had (Edit: I also thought nobody would care and I'd get away with it like everybody else and that it was okay and wasn't a big deal - so in the end, not crediting had become a part of my posts and I forgot about crediting. I also thought that gifs and fics were two different things but I don't want to come across the day I'm in that position where my work is used and my name is not properly credited).
Of course, I'm just a teen in the end and I'm glad I've had the chance to learn that those kinds of thoughts are NOT okay. As a content creator too, I understand where you're coming from and I will make sure to fix & recognize my mistakes and prevent it from happening again. Though i am sure I won't be capable of crediting everyone, I will try my best when time is in my hands.

[REPORT] GIF Reposter @nochuyou (@jeylovestoblog)
Account @nochuyou (formerly @afternoon-tae, @withlove-tae, and @jeylovestoblog) on Tumblr had reposted complete or compiled gif sets from many BTS content makers after editing them into black & white. The user denies reposting any gifs except for two gif sets (11/05/17). They had deactivated their old account to take on a new identity as “K” with @afternoon-tae (at the moment abandoned). It is unclear whether they will no longer repost.
Originally you can look at some of their reposted gifs through their BTS gif tag #jgifs and self-reblog tag #sr. A network that Jey used to be a member of is gracious enough to maintain their partial archive of her gifs here. If you see your work was reposted in the archive, report misattribution through this form to remove all reblogs of the post. If you see your work was reposted on their new accounts, contact @nochuyou or @afternoon-tae or report misattribution.
We discourage sending messages unless you are an affected gif maker. We do not condone violent or threatening messages. Instead you can show your support for our fandom’s content makers by reblogging this post or blocking their accounts to prevent accidentally spreading any potential reposts. Community pressure may stop this user and prevent others from reposting original content.
Below the cut is the evidence we gathered to reach our decision:
I, admin Tiffany N., was in contact with the user, Jey, since Monday, October 30th, when I responded publicly to this reposting report submitted to us by an anon. I talked to her for an hour and a half that day then on and off until Thursday. During that time she has repeatedly asserted that she did not edit anyone’s gifs.
On Thursday she confessed to editing nochuie’s, but only nochuie’s. On Sunday, when I revealed to her some of the evidence included here she claims she only reposted the 2 gif sets. I was aware at minimum there were 4 accused gif sets, which were posted by the original creators between October 15th and 16th, because an anon provided nochuie three sets of links to OP’s and Jey’s for comparison. The anon’s comparisons proved to be accurate for the 2 we were able to find.
I want to make clear that I gave many chances for Jey to confess over the week and that she had agreed multiple times over to the consequences I outlined (including this report post) if her promises continued to be false.
You can view her Thursday confession and agreement to btsgfx’ conditions and consequences here. I have marked where some conversation was omitted with yellow scissors. Below is a snippet:
Tumblr media
11/07 Edit: You can also read my entire chat log with Jey here. For brief highlights click here instead. Below are the last messages we exchanged and her public apology she posted 30 minutes after. Angela (nochuie) also felt compelled to upload her chat log here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11/10 Edit: We were notified that Jey has at the moment abandoned @afternoon-tae following our updated report (11/08) for @nochuyou, which her abandoned blog follows (among more defining tip-offs we will not reveal here). We were also able to identify another reposted gif set from perusing past networks Jey was believed to be a member of and from her mutuals’ archives. On @lgbtqbangtan-net, that Jey is currently a founding admin at, all her works under #cr: jeylovestoblog have been deleted.
Tumblr media
Since Jey deleted the accused original gif sets (as she claims was asked of her even though most of the gif makers we contacted never saw the accused gifs), we thought that we could not get a copy to compare to the original gif makers’ works. I was notified though that Jey forgot to delete her self-reblogs of them in her #sr tag (now deactivated). We could not find posts for all the accused gif sets still.
In the below gifs we overlaid Jey’s gifs on top of jjks’ (1, 2) and nochuie’s original gif.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Above the gifs match exactly frame by frame with the same number of frames and pixel content/sizing. nochuie has noted that for this gif set she even manually deinterlaced the 60fps video file. The reposts are also cropped smaller than the original. The bottom one Jey sent to me and claimed it was the original one she posted and was accused of copying. It was not, but it was also a copy.
You may download the psds of the gifs above to inspect for yourself here.
To prove these gifs and downloadable psds are Jey’s gifs overlaid, we reblogged Jey’s original reposted sets from the first user who reblogged each set:
Original: jjks’ set - Jey’s reblog Jey’s Edited Repost: Our private reblog
Original: jjks’ 2nd set Jey’s Edited Repost: My private reblog
Original: nochuie’s Set - Jey’s reblog Jey’s Edited Repost: Our private reblog
With these links you can (1) directly compare the moving gifs from tumblr, (2) check the file names and sizes match the screenshot below by right-clicking and saving the image, (3) overlay the gifs yourself, and (4) verify the timestamps we include at the bottom of this post.
Note that once a file is uploaded to Tumblr, it maintains the same file name (ex. tumblr_oxwu2pvlUQ1rkxec2o1_400.gif for the first gif in Jey’s edited repost of jjks’ 2nd set not listed in screenshot below) for the image in reblogged posts. Below are the gifs we saved from Jey’s original posted sets in her #sr tag.
Tumblr media
If there is further doubt or if you do not believe in how impossibly rare it is for a gifs’ frames, cropping, and pixel content/sizing to match up; Jey had the tendency to reblog the OP’s gif set and then upload the black & white edited copies as her own gifs a few hours after.
Below are timestamp screenshots of when Jey first reblogged OP’s set and the the first reblog (links can be found above through private reblogs) of her copies:

instagram
because i’m sick and tired of the instagram fandom’s shit. (x)
mallowmelting: i'd like to talk about a problem in fandom—reposting art without credit.
why have i decided to make a post about this now? maybe it has to do with maggie stiefvater's recent post about piracy. maybe it has to do with the fact in the span of 24 hours, i have had to ask five people on instagram to put credit on reposted art. maybe it has to do with my phone, which now autocompletes "credit to" with "siocynder". "not my art". "credit to artist". "found on google". i've seen this too often in the captions of kotlc fanart on instagram. this isn't okay. when people don't credit artists, they are stealing the art. even if they put "not my art" in the caption, they are still stealing.
here's why. when art is reposted with credit, it can be easily traced back to the original creator. people who see this reposted art see the credit, and the recognition goes to the original creator.
but when art is reposted without credit, it becomes an island. what i mean by this is that there is no longer a way for a viewer to instantly find the original creator of this reposted art. all recognition is lost. by reposting art without credit, the reposter deprives the original creator of exposure that this creator would have received if their art had been reposted with credit.
but say this reposter thinks it's not harmful because they're not making any money by reposting someone's art without credit. well, let me tell you a story about the most famous—and the most reposted—fanartist in the kotlc fandom. her name is siocynder. even if you haven't heard her name before seeing this post, i can guarantee you have seen her art. her art is the profile picture of countless accounts on instagram, pinterest, and deviantart. her art is on dozens of wattpad covers. her art has been reposted again and again and again, with credit almost never being given.
it soon became impossible for sio to track down every repost of her kotlc fanart and request credit. she, a young twenty-something fresh out of university, was spending much of her valuable time making content—without being paid. and she was getting no recognition for it. names were being given to her that did not belong to her—credit to artist, credit to google, credit unknown.
so she quit. she stopped posting her kotlc fanart, almost stopped creating fanart entirely. this is a real-life consequence of reposting without credit. the fandom lost siocynder, one of its best artists, because of it.
and the problem isn't just about sio's fanart. even i, a small tumblr editor who is nowhere near as well-known as sio, have found uncredited reposts of my kotlc edits. and it hurts to see those reposts. it hurts to see someone has taken your content without even caring enough to find the original creator, seeing only the artwork and not the human being behind it.
now, there's nothing wrong with finding art on google or pinterest. all people have to do before reposting this art is find the original creator. the kotlc fandom is fortunate in that its most popular fanartists all have very distinctive styles. it's easy to tell siocynder's art from xylia's or dragonwinnie's. so often a piece of fanart can be sourced by just looking at the style.
if the style isn't recognizable, reverse google image search works wonders. so do sites like tineye, which finds every online copy of a picture and can help people find the original post. if no matter how hard they try, they can't trace an image back to the source, a general rule of thumb is simply to not repost it! done and done.
finally, i'm not saying that people who repost without credit are trash, deserve to die, etc., but they need to learn and correct themselves. or else more creators like sio will leave, and this fandom will be all the poorer for it.
please remember that "google" is not an artist. "tumblr" is not an artist. people are artists, and people deserve credit where credit is due.

Replies to the art theft post
tanialel replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
You must talk with the Gays on Ice's admin, she understands what is going on and also she wants to solve the problem, just take it easy and talk at the first place. Maybe you're overreacting... (I don't want to offend nobody.)
lizeth-sandwich replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
Why are you like this? Not everyone knows who are you, I didn't know who were you until you pointed out a page that I follow. What is so wrong about sharing "FANARTS"? I mean, they want to share it because they like it, and they are your draws, yes, but it is Kubo sensei work, intellectual property... For me, and a lot more followers is sharing art knowing who the artist is to follow her. I can't believe there is people getting angry and want to report it.
lizeth-sandwich replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
+I mean, is a page where we can laugh, where I can find people who share the same love for this beautiful art. If you want to delete that page just for that simple reason is unthinkable for me. Deleting a page because they want to share your beautiful art, how sad. I shared photos of concerts, I could take money out of them but I didn't because I like when people say thanks to me, I like to share. I did found people sharing my photos without credits.
lizeth-sandwich replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
+but didn't make a fuss of it, I just commented on my pic that it was mine and followers saw me. Some others edit giving me credits. But anyway, I wrote all of this to make you understand that if you talk to them they might comprehend, you should not rush with your statements. We want peace not war, everything solves by talking.
mallenlisromero replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
Well....you have your point but this is overreaction, everybody knows this blog and the content is yours but your reaction is incredible. The people who repost your work is because they love it. I don't know why that reason is bad. Are you angry for that? Well, the best solution will be to delete your blog. That way no one sees your work and doesn't feel like sharing. I don't want to seem rude, but it's very illogical and childish your rule of repost. You must ask to the
mallenlisromero replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
+You must ask to the people who repost "why you repost?" I don't think that they respond "I'm a fanart thief " If they do, it would be funny. That's my opinion.
mallenlisromero replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
I understand, everyone wants the credit for their work and that's logical because they did but... Don't repost, don't share...both are “pendejadas", sorry I don't find a word in English for this expression. Your art is good, You should be happy with your fans, and proud that they share your work, obviously with the credits
sofiarvs replied to your post “I was going to post art today...”
Ellos ponen el autor!!! Así es como conocí muchos artistas, que culeros
Okay, I’m going to break my habit of only posting replies one time a day in the afternoon. Apologies in advance, and I hope you also don’t mind if I reply to these all together to avoid giving repetitive answers.
You’re right, the series, the characters themselves, and canon is the intellectual property of Kubo-sensei and the other YOI producers. However, fanart that I created is mine. I have never claimed that I own the characters, just my specific depictions of them in images I have created. There is a whole discourse on this, but that is a conversation for another time.
You’re also right, that not many people know who I am unlike the creators of canon material like Kubo-sensei. People will see an official art, and automatically know how to find the people who made it, they’re credited on all official media sites. For nobody fanartists like myself, not so much. It’s just “fanart.” Most people will not know of me or my blog just by looking at art they find floating around the internet. All the more reason that I would like that they know.
I stated specifically in my call out post that I want people to be respectful, and I apologize if the community is getting any harassment, that was not my intention. My intention is to hopefully get you and others to realize just how hurtful art theft is. “You’re overreacting. Creating a fuss. It shouldn’t matter, they share because they love it!” are statements that do not try to understand how the artist feels. You do not know how I felt creating my art, you did not experience the time and effort and struggle it took to finish and upload them, so I feel that you do not have the right to tell me how I should feel.
I am not an art machine. I’m a person, who dedicates more hours than one would expect at a full time job to nothing but producing art content that I make available for free. We are all fans here; I want to create and share drawings that hopefully make people happy, and I hope you can enjoy them in ways that do not hurt me in return.
There are so, so many ways in which art theft is hurtful. Notes/attention is certainly part of it. My art on the community in question had over 1K likes, when the original post barely had 2K. Think of how much more motivated I would feel to draw more similar content if even a fraction of those people decided to view my work on my blog, possibly even like, reblog, or comment. Instead, those views simply tell me that those people don’t care about the creator, just my content.
If you actually want to discuss, please be willing to learn. HERE’s one post that describes very well what art theft does. HERE’s another. Some quick scrolling and searching #art theft will give you plenty of results.
Different creators (not just artists) have different policies regarding reposting, because we all feel differently about how we are comfortable with our art being shared and we all have different past experiences with fandom, which shouldn’t come as a surprise because we’re all different people. Most people have their rules stated somewhere on their blog, and if you can’t find it (please search first) it doesn’t hurt to ask. Crediting is not the same as permission, as explained in the posts above. Some people allow reposts with credit, some do not. Please respect everyone.
I personally feel my own policies are pretty clear. You also cannot make the argument that you didn’t know.
Tumblr media
The fact that I am uncomfortable with my art being shared on other sites should be enough, if you respect me and wish to support my art you shouldn’t need more reasons. I shouldn’t have to explain my history of being more open at first, but being more and more hesitant to give permission after a long stream of abuses. I shouldn’t have to describe to you in detail how it has impacted me personally, how it has played into my depression, how it has made me stop drawing and leave fandoms in the past, and the amount of effort it took to come back from that and give posting online another chance. Me asking you to please stop should be enough.
On top of that, this particular post was my first nsfw work I put on Tumblr, after almost 4 years of having this blog. It took a lot of debating on whether I should do it or not. When I did decide to do it, I took a lot of precautions to ensure that I would be comfortable with my decision. It is incredibly mild, I posed them so nothing showed, I tried for the right balance (to me) of erotic but not smut, I went out of my way to try to make sure no one looked underage. I posted beneath a cut, I added tags and warnings. I was nervous, but wanted to share, thinking maybe if it went well I might get the confidence to do a little more. Instead, NOPE, that’s it for me, people reposting with none of my precautions, my discomfort is through the roof.
I’m not asking you to not share my works. I’m not asking you to not enjoy my works. There are ways that you can do that that only inconvenience you mildly, but do not hurt me. If you are on Tumblr or Twitter, you can reblog/retweet. If you want to share on other sites like facebook, please just share the link to my blog. Yes, it may not match your community aesthetic, yes, it will take one extra click for people to see the images on my blog, and yes, it may be tedious to then go back to your community to have your conversations there. But is that really too much effort to ask, in comparison to the effort it took to draw from scratch? If it’s just sharing the link, you don’t even need to ask me for permission. I promise that I’ve made my blog as easy to view as possible, and there’s easy navigation that lets you maybe find other art too that you can share in the same way. You can have your conversations on your site, and I can still protect my works on my blog and choose how to present them and get traffic. Does this not work?
I do not want to have to put my art behind a pay wall like Patreon. I like that anyone can view it. I don’t want to have to block out non-Tumblr users. I don’t want to have to create a locked community. I don’t want to stop posting my work online, and only have my work available through purchase of physical copy like many Japanese artists. I would like to keep my watermarks small enough that you can still enjoy the images.
I don’t ask for money or make you join a community. You don’t even have to like, reblog, follow, or comment on my work, though that certainly is wonderful. All I ask is that you please, please, not hurt me for posting art.
I am not asking that you delete your community or blogs, like you above have suggested I delete mine. I do not want people to be angry with you, and again I am sorry if people have been acting disrespectfully. I do however want to ask you to please try to understand artists, to please respect our wishes, to please treat us like people. So many artists have stopped drawing because of art theft, or have lost faith in the internet and feel they can no longer share. Please do not contribute to that culture. I do not want to be driven from this fandom too.
If you didn’t know how much art theft damages the artist, that’s okay. Now you do. I hope this post helps explain part of why it’s bad.
I know you love the series and want to enjoy fanworks. We creators want you to enjoy them too. We like the same things. All I ask is that you reconsider how you think of sharing art. A small change in how you share art is all it takes to no longer hurt artists, but instead encourage us. Yes, it is a bit more work, but isn’t it worth it? Please support us and treat us with respect, and we’ll draw more things you can enjoy, and together we can create a better fandom community.
Thank you.
-Kazu (YukiPri)
Edit: I hope no one does this but I’ll say it anyway: please don’t harass any of the people I posted this in reply to. I’ve said my piece, and I’d like all conversations to be respectful. I posted this publicly because I want people to know the discussion going on, but I have no quarrel with individuals. Please do not bully. Thank you.
EDIT 2: If any bilingual Spanish speakers would be willing to translate my response to the Spanish-speaking community, I would be incredibly grateful. I feel like they’re mostly getting “the artist is mad and we should just not share her work,” and that is not the point of this post, which seeks to explain WHY it is hurtful and therefore should not be done, and alternatives on HOW to do better. (EDIT 3: Someone has kindly offered to translate, we’re working on it now! Thank you!)

I know photo aesthetics are a big deal on tumblr but why are the images never sourced? I recognised an image on the Adam and Eve photoset - it's by a photographer called Nishe. It's so important for people to credit words/ poems when they use them. Why is this same courtesy not extended to photographers? Pictures are protected by copyright, same as poetry and original writing. Tumblr please, source your shit.
Sourcing / crediting in general is just pitiful on Tumblr (on the internet in general in fact). People see something and if they want to use it, that’s all they think about. Now to be fair not all images or creators require credit/sourcing, but it’s not like people would care if they did or that it would stop them from using it anyway.
But yeah it’s rampant across all media mediums. Like here are just some examples off the top of my head:
Text posts
Photographs
Artwork (whether fanart or original)
Writing (including poetry, fanfic, original fiction, quotes, etc)
Videos / animations / GIFs
Music / Audio
Resources (like Photoshop brushes, PSDs, colorings, actions, etc)
Games / programs or programming / scripts / mods
Could probably think of more, but I’m sure it’s obvious that literally anything that can be stolen, will be stolen at some point. (Quality doesn’t even matter here guys– I had a site literally rip off some really shitty artwork I did back in my early adolescence and posted on dA and try to pass it off as their own. Like it was cringe-worthy but they still wanted to steal it???)
I realize that the internet has always has this attitude of ‘share and share alike’, but many people take that too far and turn ‘sharing’ into ‘stealing’ (or copying). Newbies do it, pros do it (as that aesthetic post you’re talking about is actually made by someone who makes aesthetic graphics a lot, and also writes. I really love their work, but I still don’t like that they just take whatever they can find off the internet w/o sources.)
That said, I have made a few aesthetic posts in my time (or graphics in general), and… I can’t say I really sourced anything either. >_> I did avoid using anything obviously ‘personally made’ and tried to stick to screenshots or obvious free-use stuff, but… again shit happens. And if people had to source every last thing in their graphics (especially concerning aesthetics which use at least 4 separate images, commonly more along the lines of 6–8 or even 10), it would heavily clog up the captions.
Now if they made like a page on their blog sourcing everything they used, that would be something… but I don’t see anyone putting that amount of effort into it, just as I don’t see many people having a high level of scrutiny when it comes to graphics that don’t bear obvious red flags (edits of popular artwork w/o credit or permission, or gif reposts, for example). I think it usually happens that if something is pretty / nice to look at, people won’t bother looking past that.
