When teasing goes a bit too far [pt.1]

Summary: Asra's and N's last visit to the marketplace leads them to an unexpected situation, and N's reaction to it cannot leave his mind.

Notes: I feel like the first part is a bit messy but oh well. I never know what to expect of my own writing in a language that isn't spanish XD

It had been a silly comment, really. It all had started in one of their visits to the marketplace, in one of those rare moments that they got separated and both Asra and N went their own ways. It had been a silly situation, really.

It didn't matter to N that they could not find the deck they were looking for: they had gotten some pumpkin bread for sale and sharing that with Asra was enough to make them walk to their meeting point with a smile. They were skipping as they walked, happy for the tasty treasure they had found, until the view of Asra made them slow down. The marketplace was crowded that morning and maybe N couldn't see well with all those people between them, but they could swear they had just caught a glimpse of an annoyed look in Asra's eyes. As if a sixth sense dictated it, N adopted a serious look as they made their way through the crowd.

Only noise got to their ears. Although they couldn't hear any of the banter between the stranger and their partner, Asra's expression spoke a thousand words to them. He wasn't comfortable there, and N would not allow that to go on.

When Asra tried to end the conversation and escape, the stranger pulled from his cape and made them let out a groan of frustration. N saw it as the sign to quickly get in. Bread in one arm and the other prepared to go around Asra's shoulders, they smoothly got in the conversation with the mission of fleeing.

"No, as I said...", Asra's words were interrupted by N barging in.

"Well, hello," N stared at the other person as they clinged to Asra. The stranger was quite slim and carried a bag that looked way bigger than them. What kind of suspicious merchant could that be, now...? "Is my husband bothering you in any way?"

The question left their mouth with a smile. Asra blinked twice, and then held their partner a bit tighter. His gaze went back to the merchant with a confidence boost, sly eyes prepared for whatever comeback N was plotting.

"Yes, actually," they answered with a stubborn tone. "Your husband hasn't paid for the potion recipe he's got from me, so perhaps you're a more responsible partner and will pay me what he owes?"

"Oh, dear," N turned to Asra as they spoke, faces close to each other because of their side hug. "Is that true?"

"You know I would never do that, my love," they smiled back, happily going along with N’s actions and slipping his hand over their waist. "This merchant here just shared part of a recipe when I didn't even ask about it, and now they are trying to charge me for it."

N stared at Asra for a bit longer before turning to the merchant again. "Looks like we don't owe anything here. I'm sure Asra The Magician knows better than stealing someone's potion recipes in such a simple marketplace." And as soon as their words came to an end, they quickly turned to run away, arms still around their partner to not let him go until they were somewhere safe. Their confident facade had fallen down already, panicked eyes checking behind them to make sure they weren't being followed. Yet Asra was having fun. The meeting had been an annoyance, sure, but N's presence always managed to make things better. And their words. Their words. The memory of N calling them husband threatened to not leave their mind.

They smiled to himself. N looked too nervous to be teased about it at the moment, but they wouldn't be able to escape from him in such a successful way as their current plan had gone. He held them closer and quickened their pace. Whatever it took to make them feel safe.

"Pumpkin bread never disappoints," Asra sighed as they lied down in bed. Curtains were open and the moon's light caressed his features. After N finished changing into their pyjamas, they sat down by the other side of the bed, and now what covered him was his partner's shadow by the moonlight.

"I knew I could make you smile with that one," they softly answered, the atmosphere making them sleepy. So they shifted on the bed, getting comfortable as they supported one hand by the other side of Asra's body. He couldn't help but stare at the way their pink hair made its way down their neck. So softly, so welcoming— turning N into the beautiful view they had always loved to admire.

It was so easy for them to make him smile. Asra gave up counting how many times they felt lucky to have them nearby long ago. And, just today, N had happened to make his heart flutter in a new and so pleasant way. They smiled wider.

"What is it?," N chuckled, noticing how they smiled to himself.

"You look as bright and stunning as the sun from down here." Their praise succeeded at making them laugh, and they bended down to look at him a bit closer.

"Well, I can only see stars shining in your eyes from up here."

"That's just the reflection of your light, trust me."

N nudged him, laughing again. The combination of the teasing tone of their chatting and the soft sheets was so, so comfortable that he was also getting a bit sleepy. Still, his eyes wanted to linger on their features, drawing them in their mind and wishing to soon hear their voice right by his side. Truth be told: they wanted to hear that again.

"How was it that you called me today at the marketplace...?" he teased, squinting his eyes to act as if they didn't remember. "When you appeared like a true hero and saved me from an inevitable scam?"

"Oh," N took a moment to realise what he was referring to, and their expression showed pure surprise. "Sorry for that, I wasn't sure of what was going on so I just blurted it out in kind of an impulse. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

"Don't worry, you did not." Asra held their hand in reassurance. "I was just teasing. I must confess it made me smile, being called like that," he mentioned as he cuddled their cheek in N's hand.

"Called like what?" The rhetorical question drew a smile on both faces.

"Your husband."

The words came out in a whisper, so close to N's hand that they could have sworn to have felt them within their body. For a moment, words stopped flowing in their head. How to answer something you don't know if it's still a joke?

"Asra Alnazar," they called, and how they loved to say his name out loud. "Are you insinuating you wouldn't mind being my spouse?"

"No, I'm straight up admitting it."

"You—", they chuckled and bent down to kiss their forehead, also as a way to hide their blush. Asra held their hand a bit tighter. He could feel his own heartbeat going faster and feared for N to notice it, too. "You still feel playful at these hours, huh? What would I do with a spouse like you...?"

"Come on, you know I can take care of you. I've shown you many times," he spoke, then kissed their knuckles and stared at them for a moment. "Wait, where's your ring, my spouse?"

"I don't know, you tell me. Where is it, dear?"

A moment of silence, as Asra failed to figure out an answer. So they chuckled, still not letting go of N's hand, and kissed it again.

"Okay, you got me there. Will you come here and cuddle now?"

"If my husband wants so," they answered, grinning over their victory.

"Yes, I very much do."

Asra covered his eyes with their free hand, the back of it experiencing the warmth of their face increasing. It felt surreal— the power of a word, of N's voice. Meanwhile, their partner cuddled over his shoulder. They had the cute smile of someone who had just won a teasing fight, as well as the lips that had let out words that opened his heart.

It would be all over for him if he happened to end up dreaming about it.

Hello again, the 'Ryder's Parents' theory anon back again (need to come back w a better name fr) and that whole thing w 'why do the dogs talk?' got me thinking of my own theory. Now i gotta preface this by saying i'm only just getting into the show like, seriously? I watched some episodes w my baby brother and got hooked, haven't really watched the movie yet but i know abt the 'one of kitties start talking thanks to the comet' thing, so that's what i'm mostly basing this theory off of

So like... the thing giving superpowers and the ability to talk is a meteor, right? Right. My crazy theory here is that its not the first time a meteor like that hit the earth. A similar one hit the planet during the dinosaur extinction thing (to my knowledge it wasn't a single huge one, there were a few more) and ended up affecting the area around it, giving the life forms around it (in this case, the precursors of dogs) the ability to be able to speak. So!! Humans don't care bc from their perspective, dogs have been able to talk since always. Humans and dog probably have an even closer relationship in the paw patrol universe compared to our reality, since they probably evolved really close together and all!! As for how do some cats (like Wild and his crew) talk naturally... idk honestly. Maybe there was another, much smaller meteor they just happened to near of? Idk i'm just building this

Btw, i found it really found you just went like 'cats probably could talk but they just choose not to' bc i'm. P sure that was the same thing the Cat from Coraline says when asked abt why he talks in the Other World. He kind of implies he COULD talk in the normal world, he just doesn't wanna :P peak cattitude fr

YEAH THAT'S INDEED PEAK CATTITUDE LMAOOO I LOVE THAT CAT IN THE CORALINE MOVIE and if you have cats or knows someone who does, you'll notice they don't meow to interact between themselves, save when they're babies or to show aggressiveness. They keep mostly to body/smell language. And meows to humans! Because humans are idiots who are never getting over the need to vocalize for communication XD

IRL cats can literally talk (their own language) but they're beyond that- they dumb their communication down into sounds just because we are not at their level and they still want us to give them their grub. It's free food, why wouldn't they want it??

As for the meteor theory? YOU'RE SO RIGHT IT COULD'VE HAPPENED TOO!!! And makes a lot of sense!!

And ayyyyy, welcome to the world of Paw Patrol!! XD I'm new here myself too! I only started watching it back in January. I had friends from my local furry group recommending this show to me for years now and Idk why I didn't watch it before. I guess my brain is just that stubborn. It knew I'd get hooked and couldn't afford being hooked into both Transformers and Paw Patrol at the same time. Now that I've slowed down on Transformers, it finally decided to let me get into another show and Paw Patrol was the chosen one to be watched XD

I would like to see the opposite situation,,, where sleeping white kicks -a very dramatic reader- off bed but reader didn't return or do anything, instead stayed on the cold floor thinking that this is a signal from White to end their relationship.. so when White suddenly awakens in the midnight surprised where the human being who was besides him hours ago only to find the reader -who is already plotted their breakup- sobbing in silence due to both physical and emotional pain XD

There were nights when you could sleep with no problem. But there were also hellish nights where you swore you were an insomniac. Sleeping beside someone didn't make much difference when you couldn't sleep.

Most people loved to sleep, and you were no exception. There was nothing like being comfortable and warm. White helped keep you warm at night, which was fine for you when the weather was cold.

White wasn't interested in loud and obnoxious people. If you can stand up for yourself, that's great, but if you were whiney and complained a lot, it would put White off.

You did tend to overreact, but your small overreactions made White want to tease you more. He would take any opportunity to annoy you just a little.

When White wanted someone out of his way, he would deal with them accordingly. You never liked being around White that much when he was angry or felt like showing off.

You lay in bed, comfortable and warm, and suddenly you were forced awake. White's foot involuntarily kicks you off the bed.

It wasn't as if you knew it was involuntary. You couldn't tell what someone was dreaming. But it was enough to make you see red.

You took anything small as a personal jab against you and sensed that this may have been a sign. As your shocked mind comprehended what happened, you decided that was it. You and White were no more. You could push and nudge him when you lay beside him, and nothing would happen to White. But now you were on the floor you were staying there. That should teach him a lesson.

Fuck White. Fuck his attitude, and fuck his fucking pride. What about your pride? You wanted to pounce on him and beat the shit out of him, crying while you did that - probably. But no, you were being petty and lay on the floor. He didn't care about you, so why should you care about him?

You saw so much red that it stopped your mind from finding sleep.

As you continually tossed and turned, you would glare at White when you faced him, wondering if he had noticed you yet. His breathing was consistent as he lay on one side for a while, and you watched as he shifted and turned on his other side, showing annoyance at him. You could stare a hole into his head.

But as time went on, and you got ever more tired, you focused more on sleep. White suddenly reached his arm over your side of the bed, expecting you to be there. He opens his eyes, confused that you weren't there.

As he sits up, White notices you. "You comfy down there?" He teases.

"Fuck you," you reply snarkily.

"Come back up here,"

"Fuck off,"

"Why?"

His response caught you off guard. You couldn't think of anything to say. White had you stumped.

"Why what?" You ask, confused.

"Do you intend on starting every reply with that vulgar language?"

"You know what you did,"

"I did?"

You were frustrated and annoyed, so you turned over to ignore him.

"Say sorry to me. I don't know if I can trust you anymore,"

"You fell off the bed?"

"No, you kicked me!"

White snorted, amused at how childish you were being.

"If I kicked you, it was by accident, and I'm for it,"

"You're not sorry. Otherwise, you would've noticed sooner,"

"Stop pissing about and get back up here before I let you stay there,"

His calm attitude did piss you off, but you also didn't want to be cold on the floor all night.

"You don't want to break up with me, do you?" You ask, a little concerned.

"You're an idiot if you think that," White replies, lying back down, his eyes watching you as you get up.

"Oh, okay," you quietly say as you climb back into bed.

"You're so damn dramatic,"

"Shut up," you complain, covering yourself with the blanket as you lay down.

"Feel free to kick me back,"

"I will,"

"But don't expect me to let you get away with it if you ever did,"

You knew what White meant by that, and you didn't want to test that out.

It was easy to get comfy and warm now you were back in bed. White's arms worm their way around you, holding you close.

Hello, sorry if I write something wrong I am using the translator not is my native language.

I love your fic, your watch is running honestly, it is my favorite fic but I saw that this is pre-canonical and I had my doubts about how the events of the manga They would develop with the relationship of Teru and Aka's fic, for example, the relationship between Aoi and Akane's childhood friends would not be there, I would like to know how the separation arc would develop because in the manga when that happens, Akane only loses his ability to control time but without major damage but here xD poor aka, and the current arc of the festival with the great clock and the blood kills supernaturals.

This has nothing to do with it, but knowing that Aka liked Sosuke's photos a lot, if he dies and is condemned at school, I only see Aka, not knowing who he is but liking his photos a lot and I would start to fill him with questions about what he was like be a human being and teru just saying: now also in is your problem.

I'm sorry if it's too long, I just wanted to get my doubts out of my head, I hope I don't bother you.

I know I used the ‘pre-canon’ tag, and while I do want their world to be the tbhk world (with some artistic liberties), I am afraid the canon plot has already been kicked so hard it is far easier to treat it as a disconnected au in the same universe.

We don’t need to go as far as the Grim Reaper Sacrifice’s arc for major changes to show up, the reason Nene met Hanako in the first place is because she wanted to date Teru, the equivalent of a school celebrity that you can only ‘score’ with magic, but by the time canon start, Teru would already be dating Aka: He is off the market.

So if she could see Teru with a lover I can’t imagine her trying to break them up to get Teru to date her, so she would not eat the mermaid scales.

The butterfly effect of this, plus Akane not existing, would be insane, and it would just pile up with time (cause I know canon teru has info about the supernatural that hasn’t been revealed yet, and since the fic is in his pov it just doesn’t work. He can't be a mysterious character with big secrets as a narrator). I just used ‘pre-canon’ so people would know Teru would be aged down, the most I’ll do is make references every once in a while about a canon thing... I’m sorry if it gave you hope for the future anon...

Your ask does make me imagine how Aka would handle meeting mitsuba and a severance though.

Poor Mitsuba would catch no breaks if his ghost met Aka, you are right that Aka would be a nightmare. Mitsuba, even when he tries to be as annoying and intimidating as he can, isn’t nearly as intimidating or cold as Teru, so Aka is completely unshaken when he is called a ‘pushy pervert!’ or anything of sorts. And when Aka learn Mitsuba took the pictures?? He’ll be unbearable (Mitsuba would be a tiny little bit happy someone like his photos so much, but still mostly annoyed) Mitsuba’s rest will have no peace.

As for the severance: Aka would be doing a school patrol with Teru during obon, and since there are no signs of struggles (Akane isn’t there to fight the supernaturals), or glasses left behind it would take Teru some time to realize someone was kidnapped, he may even be oblivious to it until Aka start cracking.

(The rest of this reply contains spoilers. Not plot spoilers but tiny information about Aka’s that wasn’t revealed in the fic yet, so it could be taken as fun facts or spoilers depending on what kind of info you value.)

Both would panic, Aka does not know about the severance and one of his biggest fears is to disappear, so watching his body crack would make him lose it. Considering Teru would panic too but try to be calm, Aka may believe this is the end and cry, (he isn't exactly a crybaby but he does cry far more easily than Akane.)

Teru would freak out because he knows how Aka’s memories work: The supernatural is a keeper of the present, so he was ‘built’ to live in the present. Memories of his day-to-day life are harder to forget than memories of something that’s detached from it.

For example: If a student graduate and never show up again, Aka will forget memories about them far easier than memories of someone he sees every week. If he is put somewhere that he has never been before and he doesn’t know anyone, he will have no connections to his school life and lose his memory way way faster so that he can avoid being stuck in the past and just enjoy the present, adapt so this new place is his new home.

So Teru is scared of just how much Aka might forget. He gives him the bracelet full of bells that he had given Aoi, and makes him promise to not take it off no matter how ‘itchy and uncomfortable’ the bells fell for a supernatural (the bells are his only guide towards whatever boundary Aka lands on).

Hi there! I’ve been studying Gàidhlig on Duolingo for a while now and wanted to expand to Irish to understand the similarities and differences, only to find that there’s a bunch of weird AI/computer voice stuff in there that doesn’t match correct pronunciations at all. Would you have any advice on where to go to hear some proper voice samples? For Scottish Gaelic there’s learngaelic.scot which has lots of lessons and videos. I’m looking for something similar for Irish. No worries if you can’t think of anything! <3

Anon, I am so sorry! I answered this in my head and forgot that that isn't the same thing as actually posting an answer XD

I love the idea of looking at the two languages together! I was in Scotland late last year and I got so much entertainment just out of reading signs in Scottish Gaelic because so much of it was so similar to Irish and then suddenly there'd be a word or phrase that would be totally different. It was interesting to understand so much of a language I have never actually learned!

In terms of resources, I'm afraid I don't really know somewhere that does short learner clips. I learned my basics in school so I'm not very knowledgable about online resources... Of course there's most likely people on youtube who do lessons but I don't watch any so I can't reccomend anyone specific.

However! A few things to try are: 1) Teanglann: It's an Irish-English/English-Irish dictionary (it also has helpful grammar stuff) but! more relevant to your ask it has a recording of an actual person saying many, though not all, of the words! For example, the listing for Irish (language):

The site actually covers three dictionaries, those are the first three tabs. The fourth tab is grammar relevent to the word (declensions and conjugations, very helpful!). The last tab is pronunciation and covers the three main dialects. It's really helpful and quite interesting to hear the differences between the regions. Ulster Irish (the top one) should be the most similar to Gàidhlig. I love this site.

2) Irish Langauge Television: TG4 is the Irish language channel and much of its programming can be viewed online outside of Ireland. Some things are geolocked but not all. It has English subtitles, though annoyingly Irish subtitles seem to be a bit more case by case... And even if you feel a full on drama or documentary is a bit too much yet, there's short films and children's television or even the news which is obviously read out in a particularly clear way.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but hopefully someone who follows me might have a better idea of resources?

Fanfic Progress Update 161

So, Hazbin Hotel was effing NOICE :D Didn't inspire me to write so far, but we'll see how this brainrot progresses. Currently I'm at the stage where I watch the musical parts 15 million times a day, the next stage is usually reading fanfics written by others, and the next one is writing if I fail to find what I'm looking for or just feel like it. Again, we'll see. On other news, stay tuned for the last sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!

A Sign that you're important

Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

Summary: One month upon his assigment as Doctor Robotnik's assitant, Agent Stone is told to learn sign language. He doesn't know why, and isn't suicidal enough to ask, so he simply rolls with it. Turns out, it's not just a whimsy of the eccentric doctor, even though that doesn't stop the doctor from utilizing it like one.

Progress: Chapter 5 was posted on 18th of January. The last chapter will be posted on 25th of January aka the next Thursday. Chapter 6 is a bit over halfway written, so cutting it a little close here, but I'll get it done in time. The biggest problem will be the chapter title tbh. I have a placeholder title (the old title for chapter 5 actually), but it's not perfect, so I'll need to brainstorm at some point, which is hopefully not on Thursday right as I'm posting it XD;

Labor with a side of lattes (formerly known as "Life at the laboratory". Now the title isn't as boring and also vibes properly with the title of next part of the series)

Summary:

"Wanted: a yesman who is capable of operating an espresso machine, has at least a higher IQ than your average amoeba, and is willing to put work before having a personal life, or indeed a life, period. The extra in your pathetic paycheck is good, but the strain in your psyche will make up for the positives. Forfeit your basic human rights and apply today if this sounds like you."

Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria's pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.

Dr. Robotnik, huh?

Progress: This one will be part one of a two-parter longfic, the first part probably... 10-ish chapters? It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change - will probably end up being increased tbh. My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.

I have the first five chapters done. Chapter 6 is 1/3 written.

I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once the fic is ready for them.)

Maybe it would have been better if he had never been able to talk with Knuckles. He could have just dropped the renegade red rascal at the hedgehog’s home to do whatever it was he had assumed Knuckles wanted – he had assumed punching, ripping some quills, and moving on, if he had had to hazard a guess when he had been unable to hear – and been none the wiser about the Master Emerald. He could have been content about the hedgehog getting some much deserved use as a punching bag and moved on with his own plans. Getting to Stone, kissing him silly, freshening up, eating actual food, getting a good night’s sleep in an actual bed (preferably with Stone in it), getting acquaintanced with the cafe lab, and making plans for further actions in the morning. Plans that likely would have involved checking up on the hedgehog to see if there was anything left to salvage in the wreck for science, and whether further revenge was necessary. Getting to his secret lab. Considering negotiations for his re-employment with the government – he had done nothing wrong, he had been acting on their orders to find out what had caused the blackout and he had been given the leave to deal with it in any way he deemed necessary.

Yes I do. I appreciate that people take the time to leave a comment and so I want to at least thank them. Then again, I'm not exactly flooded with comments, so it's easy to keep up.

I'm not much of an angst writer. I guess the angstiest would be Bitter Flies My Longing Soul, which is angrily pining LWJ during Sunshot.

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Almost all of them are happy. XD I guess the happiest is likely Five Serious Late-Night Conversations, because it's a fluffy fic in general. I also think that Jade Reflecting the Morning's Glow ends very happily and is overall a very soft fic.

8. do you get hate on any fics?

So far I haven't and I hope it stays that way! But I guess it's far easier to get hate if your fics take off or if you've got "controversial" tags that draw in the haters.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

So far, I've posted one smutty fic. Currently trying to write another one, we'll see how that goes. XD I tend to write T-rated stuff tbh.

10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No I don't. Or I haven't yet, but I also don't have ideas for crossovers so I don't see one in my near future.

Not that I know of, hopefully not!

Also no. (Wow this is exciting XD) But I could see it happening.

I usually have a main ship for each fandom and it would be difficult to decide on my all time favourite! It's usually whoever is the one from my current main, I guess.

15. what’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I think I'm going to finish all my current WIPs. Or well, the ones that actually have good chunks written which are 4. I don't count the tiny snippets or tentative ideas because those are usually just me wanting to get the idea out and then letting it lie around to see if something happens with them.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I think I'm good at humour and feel good stuff, and also with dialogue! Most of my fic ideas start with an idea for a conversation. Also, I'm good with grammar and spelling.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

Action scenes, which I haven't even written yet. XD Trying to avoid them. I'm also really insecure about smut but I guess that's one of those things that people are either super sure about or fear. XD

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't mind it? At least if there's a footnote or something to translate.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

Sherlock. Which was for a holiday exchange, otherwise I wouldn't have written anything for it at first. And then I liked it well enough to write another fic for it. And then didn't write anything for 8 years or so. XD

But I started at, like, 10 with drawing/writing stuff for The Animals of Farthing Wood. XD I'm sure those comics are still lying around somewhere at my parents' house. It was a whole epic thing. There were so many fox OCs! XD

20. favorite fic you’ve written?

Oh that is mean! I don't really have a favourite. I think everything came together the best in A More Practical Approach, as it came out pretty much exactly as I'd wanted it too. But I'm proud of all the other ones as well, of course!

currently it's Dteam (adjacent) and Tolkien's Silmarillion, in the past most notably Marvel (plus various others)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Oh boy. First, and by a mile, we have Sign Dirty to me and its sequel As loud as our hearts (MCU, Steve/Bucky modern AU where Steve is deaf and they meet under... embarrassing circumstances), then the next with not even half as many kudos is No other version of me I'd rather be tonight (Larry famous/non-famous AU), then a fic called First Sons and Superheros (Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four meets troubled gay president's son TJ from Political Animals), and then Cross the Line which was just a silly little MCU RPF get together fic but yeah, everything MCU related went HARD back in the day.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always!! It sometimes takes me a while but I never ever leave comments without a response over - if you see them, I just haven't gotten around to them yet. I think it's only fair - if people take their time to leave comments, I should show just as much appreciation back by responding. (That's why I don't comment on fics where I see lots of comments that have never been responded to because I just think it's rude.)

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh man that's got to be the Silmarillion stories. Nightfall ending with murder and the dying of the Light (of the Trees), Shards that goes to incredibly dark places (but all the stories in that series aren't happy).

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Ever a surprise / Ever as before where DNF literally life in a fairytale and get a fairytale ending. :D (Taizi and I did our best. <3)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. I remember once in an MCU Steve/Bucky fic there was a big discussion going on in the comments about an aspect of therapy in the story, but that was the height of it. It never went into hate territory.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Oh absolutely. XD Not sure I understand the question though, what kind. The sexy kind? Wholesome, sweet, kinky, dark, I've written it all.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I have! The crasiest was probably First Sons and Superheroes (mentioned above) that sort of founded a whole new branch of fandom at the time. The premise was good though.

There have been several requests over the years, yes

Constantly. XD I think 95% of fics on my account have been co-written. I don't know how to finish stuff by myself.

Mae/Fin and Tyelpe/Annatar (Silmarillion), but DNF is up there as well for sure :)

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

The Holiday. It's a Remus/Sirius fic based on the movie and there's only ONE CHAPTER MISSING and I still get comments on it even years later and they're all so sweet and I always feel so bad about it and I wish I could finish it but I'm so out of the headspace. Maybe one day. Not giving up hope.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Worldbuilding. Picking things apart until everything makes sense. Believable character/relationship progression especially in adversary, I'd like to think.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Motivation and drive, for sure. I was never able to write big stories by myself, I always needed someone to do it with. I WISH I could, how cool would that be. But I just get too distracted too fast by other things.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I can only write in English. German, I guess, I am a native. XD But I haven't done that in forever and the thought of it just makes me cringe.

Lord of the Rings

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

That's the meanest question. I have so many favourites, DNF ones as well, so many amazing ones that have never even seen the light of day on AO3 for one reason or another. I think overall I am the most proud of all the Silmarillion stories because they all belong in the same universe and span thousands upon thousands of years and so much worldbuilding and progression.

Sometimes i wish duskwood have more options to what you play as, I'm an Agender person who keep switching between playing the male and the female MC cuz each one have something different, As my Homophopic English teacher like to say (the only thing that have no gender are solid objects, like this class door, or your books) i mean i guess that's fine i don't mind being a door 🤨

Damn, we should definitely slap your English teacher in the face. What's wrong with them? But let me be honest, in the German language, even objects have a gender. There is a feminine or masculine description for almost everything. 'The door' in German is "Die Tür" the "Die" is our 'the' and feminine. We also have "Der" also the "the" but in German a masculine form. (The printer - Der Drucker) But we also have "Das" also the "The" and "Das" is actually almost always gender neutral. (The car - Das Auto). And yet a car here is considered as feminine. I hate that.

So, on the matter with Everbyte and more possibilities, yes I can definitely understand that and it would be really great if it were so. And I don’t want to protect anything here, but the problem is that the German language is absolutely not gender-appropriate. Really, it is terrible. We have pronouns that can be used, for example, by non-binary people, but hardly anyone knows these pronouns because it seems to have not yet arrived in people’s minds. Unfortunately, we don’t have any really known pronouns for other genders and identities than "he/him" or "she/her" the German language is really just not useful there. I hate that. Even people here start using They/Them, as the englisch words, because in German we don’t really have pronouns for it. So, it’s really hard to escape a feminine or masculine form here.. And that also makes it more difficult to design a game that is really possible for everyone to play exactly as they want it.

Fortunately, gendering is finally an issue here and I hope that our language will finally be designed and adapted in a more just way. If there were finally less assholes... 😒

So, I'm sorry for starting this rant in the answer to your ask. I hope you don’t mind me. XD And I really hope there will be more options at some point. :(

i think to some extent i am the person all my younger selves wanted to be xD but career-wise not all. my childhood dream was to be a writer, only at 14 or 15 i started to think about my current course of study and also quickly dismissed the idea again back then xD

ohh i think The Case Study of Vanitas, which is my favourite manga series (no i haven't seen the anime (yet?)), i really want to write a fanfic about Vanitas and Noé because no wayyy they don't kiss at night xDD

always obsessed with exo xD then again, i think Ocean Vuong still has a hard grip on me right now. i recently finished reading On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous and i am reading his poems every now and then and boy... i think that guy himself invented language

mmh... i think the fact my two bestied from school and i planned to meet at least twice and it never worked out - i met them separately, but i miss hanging out with my two favourite crackheads :/ (we'll probably meet over the last days of december tho, so...soon)

i dunno, it's not really "hidden" but i've baffled people with is before: i'm really fast at recognizing songs, probably because i know many songs that i don't particularly like listening to as well, i guess i just can memorize sounds quite well.

i am agnostic, so i'm not strictly religious, i have always been really interested in religion tho. like as a kid i went to religion classes voluntarily despite noone in my family is religious.

a different brain hahahah :') jkjk i guess what i (quite childishly) wish for most is everything to be alright again, life to be less shit, generally. that's probably a crap answer but the most honest one i can give right now.

#18: what is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC [For Flint]

Dang I mixed him and Graverobber up and nearly answered that way. XD Anywayyyyyyy -

I realized that he doesn't really like to sign, even when given the opportunity. He'd rather just let everyone else talk things out and let others come to their own conclusions - even if it's about him. He WILL sign of course, he is completely fluent in sign language, but even with the vast majority of Neo Oldesville citizens being able to sign/understand him as well, he just generally opts to stay silent. He's more of the "does things in the bg while characters speak/argue it out and solves the problems without being noticed" kinda guy. A bit like Vash the Stampede from Trigun when he's actually being smart lol. Flint also has no real issue with people thinking he's some kind of fire monster, as long as they don't try to attack him haha. [Also, for Graverobber, I have recently discovered he is trans. FtM. A lot of TC has gotten more Queer since reworking it the last year or so lol.]

#19: what is your favorite fact about your OC? [For Graverobber]

Honestly his and Terry's friendship. I kinda miss the dumb comics I did for the two of them - Graverobber is a wonderfully sarcastic and blunt character which is so much fun to write. That and the fact that he literally robs graves, carries a coffin at all times on his back, is CALLED graverobber, and yet no one suspects him of anything lmao. Past that it's his coffin, given how hilariously it works with the magic key and all. I love the idea of him opening it from the left and its storage, then opening it from the right and suddenly it's his extremely hung over brother's limp body as he slumps out onto the floor, very much knocked out. No one, not even his brother, knows how the hell he keeps ending up in there XD

For 💘: tbh it took me a bit. (My hc is i washed up on shang's beach somehow,still haven't decided that whole backstory how yet but he let me stay with him and helped nurse me back to health because yay for almost drowning in seawater oof. I can't swim well so this makes this more oof) i wasn't entirely sure about him. But learning more and more about him. Him slowly opening more about himself. I began to see him a bit more clearly. He offered to train me,just so i can better defend myself. Most of that time i may or may not have started to crush on him. I think he knew because he started to show signs of being a bit softer around me. His tone changed since when i first spoke with him. Obviously or not,i feel shang saw me as good company and of most definitely no threat. (Not that I'd want to fight him? You seen him fight in the games?! Hel nah brah xD) he started to show in his own way signs of affection. Gift giving and acts of service are biiiig love languages (for me too but i also am probably a lot more physical than him. Tho he is a show off,shang is an enigma ok?) . But for me the first sign of absolute love for him. Was him defending my name,course its not anything new to shang that raidens allies would act this way towards him. He is prepared for that. But his beloved butterfly? Oh hell nah they didn't! Shang tsung expects this more from kano,erron black,etc. But from raiden's allies or raiden himself?! He will not tolerate such insolence! Never have you seen shang tsung hiss from behind his teeth with such vitriol in my defense none the less. It shook me a bit. I and fujin actually had to step in to prevent a full on fight. But for shang? His moment of "oh no that's wifey!" Was simply me bringing him tea. No reason. Sure his servants could do that. Or even himself. But i legit stopped my martial training,to bring him his fave tea. He was reading on the side while i trained. He wasn't used to such things. Especially without any demands. I just simply did it,out of my own heart and soul(lol soul).

yk sometimes I can't tell who is talking, huertas/esposito or dever/ryan. With their faces it's ok bc I can often lip read (supplementally, I can't read lips alone,) but in the commentary I can't see their faces. A least with the commentary they usually say which one is talking. They probs do with the regular ep too, I just rely more on the lips during the real episodes than the captions. It's times like this I realize I really am hard of hearing. I sometimes forget I'm HOH bc I can still hear, but then I realize in situations like rn that, well, full hearing ppl don't have these issues. suspense, drama comedy-- *interupts* & horror! (castle with the severed head)

They probably have each other's favourites written down on a list on their phones so they can order enough to share, like my mom-- ooh that would be a good plot point in a fanfic, they find out valuable information by seeing people's food orders in the notes app. maybe they find out who the next-of-kin are if they don't have an identity (they could get that from the phone number-- UNLESS IT'S LIKE ME UNTIL I WAS 19: DIDN'T HAVE A PHONE PLAN), they could find out who the killer is by whose favourite is at the crime scene or the ginger beef sauce around the vic's neck from strangling them, they could go to one of the restaurants & the waiters probably heard smth abt the conspiracy or they could get descriptions of each of them or they could get pics from security footage, idk I think it would be a fun plot point

Personally I already speak fluent english & conversational french, tourist-talk in japanese, baby-talk in cree+michif, & then I know a few words in a ton of languages. I want to be fluent in eng, fr, cree+michif (michif is basically half bad cree & half bad french), ASL (I used to have a somewhat functional sign language with my friends at school, it worked for playing tag & stealing candy or complaining at my gramma's bc I taught my brother, but it was all conlang & direct translated english), japanese, & then german, spanish, mandarin, tagalog, & then all other languages too lol bc I like them, portugese, swedish, italian, arabic, hebrew, anishinabe or ojibwe (ojibwe is an anishinabe language like potowatome is an anishinabe language, but ojibwe is also v similar to cree), Gaeilge+Gàidhlig, bungee (which is gaelic+ojibwe), ukranian, dutch, finnish, welsh, inuktitut, cantonese, greek, hindi, punjabi, mauri, russian, Mohawk+Oneida+Onondaga+Cayuga+Seneca+Tuscarora & Cherokee, Mi'kmaq, Innu, Tigrinya, greek, turkish, korean, just all the languages. This list is /kind of/ in order of most important to least important to me btw. By the end it kind of devolved.)

Well that was a lot harder to sit through. it is literally 14.20, 2.20pm, I have not even watched a single ep of castle in my solo watch yet, I was just finishing up from last night. holy fuck. This was supposed to be "you don't need to comment anything dom" but then they were hella funny all the time & I woke up late & can you believe I still need to do a bunch of lessons for work? ugh
