Being best friends with ghost

It takes a WHILE for him to open up to you and consider the fact that he's your best fried

He will warm up to you though but its going to take a couple years for him to get out if his box

Once you gain his trust he'll hang out with you almost every day with the occasional week if silence to recharge his social battery

He prefers to text over call so he'll shoot out a couple small texts like

"Have a good day today 🙂" "*insert shitty dad joke*" " how are you today?"

He always makes sure you text him when you get home and if you forget he'll txt you to see if you made it home

He'll eventually have you share your location with him.

He turns off his location when he's deployed but will send check up texts just to let you know he's alive

Loves to go to quiet places with you such as the aquarium or a art museum

He's amazingly good at chess and will teach you how to play

He Loves to play board games and will plan a night where you two will play board games all night

Movie nights are a thing too. He likes to pick out shitty romcoms and roast the life out of them

Along with developing your friedship his physical touch develops with you

Itll start off with light shoulder punches

Then he'll give the side hug which will eventually grow into a bear hug

If your short he likes to rest his head ontop of yours and drape his arms around your shoulders

He loves dogs so if you have a dog expect him to immediately be on the floor giving it love

Dogs love him too. He just has that aura that dogs can sense

The two of you have a secret whistle if you loose each other in a store or if he needs your attention

Late night talks are his favorite thing especially if its the most random subject like "what if hitler went ti art school" "is the great wall of china visibale in space" "wonder what the after life is like" "would you still love me if i was a worm"

Smoke session with him are a must loves to vibe out with you cuddle up and watcb a good movie

Sleep overs become a frequent thing mostly to help him with his ptsd itll end up with the two of probably being roomates

If you get a partner he'll be passive aggressive with them and scare the shit out if them if they try to hurt you

Has a no tolerance policy with guys creeping on you. If he sees that a guy wont leave you alone and you look uncomfortable he'll square up the guy and scare him off

He finishes your food for you wven if he eats all of his food and is full he'll gladly take your scraps

This man stomach is like a black hole

If youre a picky eater he'll learn to make your comfort food and buy your snacks for you to eat

If he wants you to try new things he'll set the food on your plate and if you eat it he'll praise you for it

He's defiantly a shoulder you can cry on he also listen to you and doesn't say anything unless you want him to

No, I don't think so! I think my parents just went through the list of baby names for girls and settled on Joanna lol.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Uhh... I teared up watching one of the episodes of Blue Eye Samurai a couple days ago but the last time I Cried was on my flight back to Boston last Friday rewatching episode three of The Last of Us lmaoo. (I was like SURELY I won't cry on my nth rewatch... #rip to me)

3. Do you have kids?

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

Swimming and soccer growing up. I did ballet for like a year or two also when I was like 5. Since graduating college I haven't really done any sports, just working out at the gym pre-pandemic and then at home since the pandemic, although one of my friends is trying to start a pickup soccer group which I'll probs join if it takes off. Do want to get back into swimming again also. That's on my 2024 todo list. I've tried running as a hobby enough times to know that I suck at it and that I hate it lmao.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

6. What is the first thing you notice about people?

Hmm, probably their outfit; I enjoy seeing people's different styles!

Happy endings!!

Ugh, no?? I can't think of anything lol. Being a procrastinator and the ultimate lazy bum (only half joking). idk man, I used to be proud of my writing and amv skills but I haven't seriously tried to write anything in probably a decade and I don't think I'm ever getting back into making amvs lol. Letting things go/being resilient maybe? I'm at the point in my life where everything is just 'it is what it is', but I think I've always been good at moving on from things tbh. Life's too short to dwell.

11. What are your hobbies?

Nothing creative anymore, that's for sure (#rip). Uh, I love going out and doing things. I'm the furthest thing from a homebody so being trapped at home during the pandemic drove me nuts. Things I do on the regular include visiting independent bookstores, art museums, and seeing shows. I try to travel/see someplace new on the regular, whether that's going out of state/country or walking through a new neighborhood in the Boston area. I love eating, definitely a foodie. I read a lot (more fanfic than actual lit these days whoops) and watch a lot of tv. I also enjoy just walking around and people watching (will frequently walk around the neighborhood/city without any real purpose in mind as I go crazy if I'm cooped up in my apt for too long). I also love sending snail mail and exchange postcards monthly with a friend in London, and send holiday cards/postcards to family/friends when I travel. I guess documenting my interests on Tumblr can also be considered a hobby considering how much time I spend on here lmao.

12. Do you have any pets?

No, but I plan to adopt a cat when I (hopefully) get my own place!

Growing up, probably math. I was good at it, and I loved how logical it was. I also really enjoyed chem, probably because it was the most math adjacent science (hilariously though, I hated physics). In college obviously computer science, my major. Though I've always loved my literature classes also.

15. Dream job?

Man I'd love to open and own an independent bookstore/cafe. Dream job for real.

Tristan und Isolde in The Good Fight 6x04

i was not always an opera fan but i am always a fan of art referencing art. so when Tristan und Isolde popped up in season 6 of The Good Fight, you can imagine i was intrigued.

again, i wrote two threads on twitter, and i'm reposting here in lieu of there never being another thursday ep of TGF ever again (crying hours).

anyways, T&I is an opera in 3 acts by Richard Wagner with a German libretto, based on a 12C romance Tristan and Iseult by Gottfried von Strassburg. known for tonal ambiguity, orchestral colour, harmonic suspension & chromaticism (very basically, using tones outside major/minor scales).

i will say from the outset i am not a Wagner fan (google it, but also it's rather ironic given what happens in this ep), but i have been to the villa where he lived in Lucerne (great views). (Walter Benjamin called Wagner an example of "bourgeois false consciousness" lolol)

anyway back to T&I… he wrote it while having an apparent affair with Mathilde Wesendonck 👀🍵 but it was also written after his discovery of Schopenhauer, a German philosopher who also influenced Tolstoy.

his point was to write tragedy, not romance, and his work marks the departure from tonal harmony in 20C EU classical music. the opening is called the Tristan chord—listen to the dissonance, nothing being resolved.

T&I uses harmonic suspension—creating musical tension and expectation in the listener through prolonged unfinished cadences. but he does so throughout the whole work, like introducing a cadence in the prelude and not resolving until Act 3 Finale.

and um, this deferred resolution is frequently interpreted as symbolising both physical sexual release and spiritual release (aka death ahah). there is also a day/night, life/death theme going on—opposites attract.

to return to Schopenhauer and the general storyline of T&I, it's really premised on the idea of unfulfilled longing and unachievable desires. make of that what you will.

[pre-finale addendum] i never really thought T&I was a direct metaphor, but more about how love doesn't always triumph. tragedy.

the important thing about the T&I plot is that it's a chivalric romance with certain elements, based on ancient Celtic myth, though the opera itself is based on a Medieval German retelling:

the brave hero (you're my hero)

the forbidden/doomed lovers (can your love survive outside the bubble)

and of course, the love potion, which makes Isolde fall in love with Tristan whom she had previously sworn hatred for after he killed her uncle. it SHOULDN'T make sense, and yet Diane and Kurt fall in love anyway.

the love potion is magic, but it is also poison (this is where it could become a metaphor* for PT108). and it doesn't just slowly poison them, eventually in the opera it poisons everything and leads to the lovers' downfall.

****(ftr, i do not think PT108 itself is poison & certainly not in reference to a depression treatment)

there are interesting doubles in T&I, mostly that Tristan's first wound is healed magically by Isolde, but later he's mortally wounded when Isolde doesn't reach him in time.

i think we see this flipped in TGF. in s1-2, Di has been wounded emotionally by Kurt and eventually they reconcile. but in s6, Di has been depressed and had multiple near death experiences, and yet Kurt doesn't seem to be able to reach her.

hence the quote: 'Here he lies, the great man, in thrall to the world’s most wonderful delusion—love.' and like the opera, the harmonies won't resolve until the very end.

[post-finale note] i did realise that when the Liebestod is playing while Diane and Kurt are talking on the sofa after the gala dinner that it does resolve. the answer was always there, that they would resolve together.

🥺🥺🥺🥺 imagine sketching albedo while he's busy with his experiments. he probably didn't notice at first and he's so flustered cos he's usually the one drawing you (and he does it with so much love, attention and focus so to see you do the same for him???? he feels a little unworthy </3) BUT HE'S REALLY HAPPY!!! he'll ask you if he can keep it! (and he'll put it away carefully with all of his other precious things and gifts that people have given him. i bet he has a box full of little memorabilia but most of them are from you and klee 🥹)

I got a little carried away there didn't I? but consider also, drawing tighnari when you're on a patrol with him. tighnari found your notes after your little survey patrol was over. among the maps of the forests and sketches of interesting mushrooms and skribbled notes you drew little doodles of him in the corner. (bonus points: if you add little speech bubbles and write little dialogue for him) he thinks it's really funny (also very cute) and asks you to do it more (and show him when you do LMAO)

cyno on the other hand? he doesn't know too much about art. well he knows as much as he learnt at the akademiya. he could look at a painting hanging in a museum and give you all of the technical expertise, historical context and basic interpretation of it but that's about as far as his knowledge goes. technicalities. he also found your drawings by chance. he didn't mean to peek, but you'd left your sketchbook open and he saw little chibi figures of himself all over the page. him holding a book, or him holding a drink. is that him with a cat? he doesn't even have a cat. you were mortified to say the least when you found him staring into your sketchbook with a blank look on his face. and if you apologize and swear that you'll never draw him again, you will be surprised to find his stoic expression turn into a little pout (just a tiny one, with his bottom lip pushed out a bit and his cheeks puffed up).

What are your plans for the day ahead? I actually feel like binge-watching Good Mythical Morning tonight; overheard my siblings watching it earlier and now all I want to do is to catch up on the episodes I missed all year long. Apart from that...might have to work on this kinda urgent deck for work, even if we’re on company shutdown -_-

What was the last thing you cleaned? I tidied up the living room since my sister and I wrapped gifts for an hour and the place got very messy very fast.

When do you go to your soonest appointment? I don’t have any booked in the near future. What did you last order online? Just more Christmas presents - the last batch I got online were for cousins on my dad’s side. I still have to shop tomorrow, but since online orders made at this point obviously won’t make it here by the 24th/25th I’ll be going to the mall for those instead.

Can you see any bottles from where you're sitting? Yeah I’m taking bottled coffee right now. It’s ‘Sweet Black’ flavored, which I’m loving because otherwise this brand’s regular Black variant is way too bitter for my taste. Which I don’t hate, but I can’t fully enjoy either.

What time do you usually try to wind down in the evening? Around 8 or 9 PM. 9 is my upper limit - I don’t want to be doing any overtime work or chores by that point, and ideally I’m already lounging in bed or on the couch just going through my phone.

What's something you have been putting off? The said deck/Powerpoint I have to work on. One because we’re on company break and it’s just difficult to be in the mindset to work; two because it’s a deck for an upcoming pitch (for a potential client) and I always dread that stuff. I really have to touch it tonight though because by tomorrow I’ll already be out all day to shop and to have my Christmas gathering with friends.

What restaurants do you frequently eat at? I'm not a regular anywhere anymore, but in general if I do eat out I like going to Japanese or Korean restaurants. Do you like banana pudding with a lot of bananas or more vanilla wafers? Banana pudding sounds so nasty.

How many books would you guess you've read in the last 5 years? 1 or 2, I’m guessing.

What was the last message you sent? “I didn’t cross-post it, it’ll be fine!” to my sister. Basically I posted an Instagram story of our gift-wrapping session earlier and the photo revealed some of the gifts I bought. My sister was just looking out and telling me not to post it on Facebook to keep relatives from seeing the presents, so I reassured her that I didn’t toggle the feature to crosspost it. Have you ate anything green today? What's your favorite way to add greens to your diet? The sandwich my dad made for me earlier had some lettuce in it. I don’t really have habits when it comes to vegetables...Filipino cuisine is inherently loaded with them, so it’s not like I have to go out of my way to access them.

When did you last light a candle or incense? Months ago. Not really a part of my routine.

Is it currently warm where you are? It’s finally getting colder in the evenings yaaaaaay. It’s currently 27C, which is a lovely and welcome change.

Continued from last night. I don’t have hotdogs frequently, but on my burgers I like to have jalapeño slices, onions, and always some sort of mayo dressing on them. What did you last put in storage? In our general bodega space, shoes. We don’t really have a designated storage room for things that need to be put away for a while.

What's your favorite thing to do outside? Go to museums and art galleries, drive around (I don’t mind getting stuck in traffic these days, especially if it means I get to be by myself), go through bookstores, eat.

Are there any celebrities that you are a big fan of? BTS would be a very obvious answer here. I have other favorites too, but I check in with them and what they’re up to only from time to time - Paramore, Beyoncé, bunch of other artists in the Korean music scene here and there.

Do you ever watch award shows? Only when the boys have a major participation or performance. Otherwise I have largely stopped caring, especially when I heard more and more claims of racism and favoritism come about. Also, I never really recovered from 25 winning over Lemonade as Album of the Year - if Adele herself can’t accept the award, you’ve got a problem in your hands lmao.

Do you usually run out of shampoo or conditioner first? Conditioner because I have to use a fuckton of it for my bleached hair. My head reacts terribly to shampoo.

Do you have any LED lights in your home? I guess, but I wouldn’t be able to identify which.

What is your biggest challenge? Saving money. When you grow up not-so-well-off, there are two routes you take – be very rigid about saving to avoid going through what you experienced ever again...or be an excessive spender to make up for the times you couldn’t afford the things you want. Unfortunately, I am the latter hahaha.

What was the last sweet thing you've eaten? My mom had me try these chocolate coffee bites? nibblers? tiny thingies? that she got as a Christmas present. SO good, I might end up eating the whole box.

Do you prefer buying new clothes or thrift shopping for clothes? Both. As long as I like the look, doesn’t matter where it’s from at that point.

Who is someone you would like to get to know more? Reena; we’ve been friends for over a year but we only hang out in the context of BTS gatherings. I’d love to have more solo dates with her and become as close with her as I am with Angela. Also my new associate, Erin; she’s definitely easier to get along with and talk to vs my previous teammate.

What toy do you miss the most from your childhood? My cash register. Loved that little thing.

Have you ever lost something valuable to you? Nothing comes to mind. I lose things a lot, but for the most part they’ve just been tiny trinkets here and there that I get over by the end of the day.

What or who has impacted your life the most? My parents, for better or for worse.

Would you say you are toxic in any way? In the past. It’s something I continue to actively work on.

What's one of your favorite memories from the past year? Going to Zambales with my closest friends for my birthday.

1. What was the last time they pulled an all-nighter, if ever?

Ida can be a bit of a heavy sleeper, so she hardly ever pulls an all-nighter unless she is told otherwise.

2. What’s the weirdest place they’ve ever slept?

On one occasion back in Poland, Joanna caught Ida sleeping bent over on a fence. Another time she was found arms crossed sitting on a chair with her back hunched over with her head between her legs.

And she wonders why she has back problems..

3. If they were living now, what type of face mask would they wear — ie, plain black, patterned, with words, etc?

She would either have a regular blue plain one or one with a photo realistic mouth on it.

4. As a young kid, were they particularly attached to any comfort items, like stuffed animals or a blanket?

She used to have a 'good luck' coin, but a boy in her class took it and threw it into a well.

5. What do they think of abstract art?

Can AND WILL stare for hours, she gets sucked in easily. Then afterwards will say "eh, it's cool I guess."

6. When going out in cold weather (say under 0C/32F), what kinda outfit do they wear?

She is not a fan of the cold so probably a flight jacket with a couple layers of shirts under, regular jeans with high socks and combat boots. (She I'd always wearing combat boots tho lol)

7. Are they afraid of heights?

No. While she does start to feel a little dizzy if she looks directly down from a super tall building.

8. Are they a fast/slow/average reader?

She is a slow reader, but only because she has a harder time processing things sometimes.

9. Are there any foods that they really fucking hate?

Radishes.

10. On a scale of 1-10, how bothered are they by the sight of blood?

5 out of 10 I think, depends on how much or what caused it.

11. When’s the last time they laughed so hard they cried, if ever?

This is actually quite often she does this, mostly at others expense. Like when she tried helping Shimano shave his head and it was so patchy at first and he was super pissed.

12. Do they prefer baths or showers?

Showers. She prefers to be quick, especially since she was used to using the showers at her old jobs and had to be in and out before the other workers got there.

13. What’s a reoccurring dream/nightmare that they have, if any?

She dreams A LOT, But usually it's just a jumbled mess. However, she always dreams of Poland, and her old house with the roof having patches of moss. She dreams about her old school and the cows in the fields.

However after her involvement with the Tojo-clan, nightmares become more frequent. Death is a very common theme in them, whether it's her friends, family, or her own death.

14. When they visit museums, do they go slowly, reading everything, or go through quickly?

She loves museums, she likes learning about history and other cultures but her favorite subject of all is art. Can sit for hours studying a piece. Enjoys colorful landscapes like Claude Monet's work.

15. Do they ever cry at movies/books/shows?

YES. She always cries while watching the naked island, despite that she considers it her favorite Japanese film.

16. Have they ever kept a journal?

Yes, but she doesn't write in it anymore. She just keeps it for memories.

17. Are they good at jigsaw puzzles? Do they enjoy them?

She is okay with them, but it takes too long for her to do it by herself. Only likes doing it with her little sister, or her grandma.

18. What’s the most physically uncomfortable situation they’ve ever been in?

When she is held hostage by the Jingweon, they try to get information out of her however she fights her way out. Probably the most painful experience.

19. What do they do when they’ve got a song stuck in their head?

Openly hums it or sings it.. VERY LOUDLY.

20. Favourite type of baked goods? Are they good at baking?

Polish donuts!

21. Are they a good kisser?

When you have as many girlfriends as she had, you certainly gain experience heheh. So yes, very!

22. How much do they follow the news? Has this always been the case, or has it changed over time?

She has always followed the news for both Poland. The reason she often checks the Poland news is due to the fact she eventually plans on moving back when the economy gets better.

23. Favourite ice cream flavour?

Strawberry (HAS TO HAVE STRAWBERRY CHUNKS IN IT AS WELL!!!)

24. Do they ever cry because something is too cute?

Nahh... until a baby holds her finger or a puppy licks her hand then she is on the VERGE of tears.

25. Do they have any superstitions?

Being Jewish, she has a lot of superstitions that have been passed down from her mother and grandmother. Like never leaving a book open or to avoid stepping over someone! She even knocks on wood despite it not really being a Jewish superstition.

26. How consistent/regular is their sleep cycle?

It WOULD be consistent if she didn't sleep so damn much, it's a personality trait at this point.

27. If they were to play D&D, what race/class would they pick?

Probably a human warrior, very much based off herself.

28. Do they sing in the shower?

Yup.

29. Can they play an instrument? Which one?

Nope. The most she ever did was playfully mash the keys on a piano at a club once. She was removed.

NOPE! never learned due to never being able to afford a bike. When she finally bought one for Joanna, who understood how to use it rather quickly, it was Joanna who tried to teach her to ride a bike instead.

31. Favourite meal of the day?

Breakfast, if she doesn't have it she will be cranky the whole day.

32. What do they smell like?

Usually smells like those flower bouquets you buy, it's her perfume.

33. Do they like to doodle?

No, she isn't too skilled in drawing and never really bothered trying.

34. What’s one of their guilty pleasures?

She reads trashy romance novels! Hohoohohoo!

35. Do people usually notice their eye colour?

Nope! They r a regular brown (brown eyes rule ✊)

36. What are their lying “tells”? Are they aware of these tells?

She does this thing where she will run and play with her hands, rubbing her thumb across her knuckles, rubbing her hands together, ect.

She will either do a big smile or make a funny face.

38. What would be the worst quality that someone could attribute to them, in their own mind? As in, what would they think is the worst thing someone could think about them — that they’re selfish, lazy, violent, cowardly, stupid, etc.?

That she has no value.

39. How do they mark their place in a book?

Uses a random ribbon or thread.

Typically a big spoon but really loves to be a little spoon!

Poland, especially to someone who isn't from Poland. She misses her home despite the situation her family went through there. She misses everything from the smell to the land to the old houses. She can go on for hours about how she used to go to a lake along with other kids and how they ended up having to run home with leeches in them, or how she and Joanna would go collect rocks and she convinced her to throw them at a cop.

Well, when she was a kid she used to have longer hair, but then a boy at school would tug her hair all the time. Eventually Ida started cutting her own hair, and eventually learned to style her own hair. (As "styled" as it can get).

Pollux is basically a huge museum. There's a lot of emphasis on creation and curating and a lot of value is placed on art. Neither Castor or Crow were directly involved with the museums and exhibits but they were definitely part of their jobs.

Science isn't neglected, but it's not the ideal. Crow definitely values the forensic sciences, and Castor is mainly concerned about what new technologies could do for Pollux on a large scale.

I think this refers to like those things in high-school yearbooks? That's how I'll answer anyway.

Crow - Most likely to start a true crime podcast. Most likely to be in your vents at 3 am.

Castor - Most likely to embark of a quest for bloody revenge. Most likely to master the stoic thousand yard stare despite really needing a good cry.

Crow has dreams of being a big-name detective some day, but they're rapidly being eclipsed with, you know. Everything. Guy's in survival mode, he doesn't know what his future is going to be like and that terrifies him.

Castor didn't want to be remembered as Pollux's greatest speaker ever, but she wanted to be a good one. Now, she really doesn't want to be the last one. If she's going to be the speaker that failed she's also going to be the speaker that sets it right.

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?

Augh going right for the jugular. And also right into to a big gaping hole in my charactizarions. I guess there has to be loved ones left behind when Pollux fell.

I definitely envision that the Ciztens onboard the Dirge have banded together into a support group, despite only being acquaintances or strangers beforehand. (Fun fact Crow and Midnight Luxury Channel have beef, one of Crow's first assignments was a scandal involving MLC.)

Castor's remains a bit distant from them however, every time she sees them the guilt starts.

Aether and Castor had a frequent working relationship beforehand, with Aether in charge of managing Pollux's own prized collection/exhibit of alien vehicles. Aether is the only one out of the surviors to have known Castor personally before everything went to shit.

Castor had a command staff that she was quite close with, but they were divided up in trying to manage the crisis and subsequently put completely out of reach. There was the speaker before Castor that trained her, who she also holds a deep respect for.

And of course, Pollux itself, who Castor fears for most of all.

Crow has his mentors who pulled him from the well, along with his old squad on the police force, all of whom he misses terribly.

Castiel isn’t sure how long he’s been staring at the poster, but it’s long enough that Dean is obviously concerned. “Hm? Oh. Yes, I’m—I’m fine.”

Dean nods but doesn’t move. He considers the poster. “Art gallery, huh?” he asks, avoiding the obvious elephant. Castiel appreciates it. He nods back.

“I’ve never been to one,” he offers, as explanation. It seems odd—he can remember the painting of the Sistine Chapel, he remembers watching with fascination as humans began collecting the smaller paintings into collections and museums, but he’d never been inside one. It hadn’t seemed necessary. Humans collect art in large boxes to remember their history, but Castiel has seen it all.

Dean seems surprised by this. “Seriously?” Castiel nods, and there’s a pause, and he’s about to turn and keep heading towards the car, and Kansas, and home, when Dean claps him on the shoulder and turns to call over his own.

“Sammy! How do you feel about seeing some art?”

“You want to go to an art gallery?” Sam sounds incredulous, and is closer behind him than Cas expected. He hadn’t noticed him retreat the half-block he’d managed to gain on them.

“Yeah, why not? Come on. What happened to ‘a little culture wouldn’t hurt, Dean?’”

"What happened to ‘I’ve got plenty of culture, eat your damn burger?’”

“It’ll be fun, Sam,” Dean counters. Something in his tone has changed. Cas doesn’t think too hard about it.

There’s a long pause, and Cas knows there’s some sort of communication happening he can’t hear or see. “…Okay,” Sam concedes. “Okay, sure. Yeah. Let’s go.”

So they do.

Dean makes a comment about “haven’t been in one of these since I was a kid,” before they all fall into the hushed silence of the museum floor. It’s nice—nicer than Castiel had expected. Not in aesthetics; the building is sleek, and modern, and the art is obviously beautiful. But it’s nice to be there. It feels almost Holy—humans, funny creatures they are, with their habit of treating their own culture with the respect of something divine. Creating houses of worship out of museums and libraries and living rooms. 

He wanders through the various exhibits but doesn’t really pay attention until he ends up in the exhibit from the poster. He’d managed to lose the Winchesters halfway through the photography exhibit, when both the brothers had gotten distracted. Castiel had continued onward anyway, on a mission, and by the time he finds himself walking into the angel exhibit he’s on his own.

He comes to a stop in front of one of the largest paintings in the room. It’s not the same angel as the poster. It’s several, actually, looking over what appears to be Mary and a baby Jesus. The angels are beautiful—smooth, flawless skin. They have long hair that looks soft, even in paint. They’re wearing white robes, and their wings are white and dove-like. None of these angels have several heads, rotating bands of fire, or thousands of eyes. They’re beautiful, but they aren’t angels. The human who painted this didn’t know that, of course—none of them did. Humanity was faced with the concept of divinity and conceptualized it as a version of itself.

“The real things ain’t as cuddly, huh?”

Dean’s voice startles him, which he hates, both because he hates being startled and because he’s still adjusting to Dean being able to sneak up on him.

“I was just thinking,” he starts, pretending he’d known Dean was there the whole time, “you paint us like we’re human.” Not ‘us’ anymore, he reminds himself, but he brushes that thought off. Not now.

Beside him, Dean snorts. “Yeah, well. If you’d told any of those Renaissance guys that the real angels are dickhead balls of celestial intent, they’d’ve arrested you for heresy.”

Castiel shakes his head. “No.” he pauses. “Well, yes. But that’s—” he turns to face Dean for the first time. He notices Sam over Dean’s shoulder, focusing intently on a painting a few feet away and obviously pretending not to listen.

“My father—God—Chuck,” he cycles through, which will never not be weird, “created us first, but not in his image. We weren’t worthy of that. Only you were. Humans, his perfect creation, modeled after their creator. But then—” he turns back to the painting and gestures to it. “You created us in your image. You thought about divinity and you couldn’t conceive anything more Holy than yourselves.”

Dean shifts. He tries for a laugh, but it comes out short. “Well, damn, Cas. Way to make a guy feel self-centered.”

Castiel turns back to him. He blinks. He frowns. That’s not what he means. “Most of my siblings thought so,” he agrees. “But I always thought it was an honor. Look,” He turns again and reaches out for the painting, only remembering a few inches from its surface to not touch it.  ��This one has a lyre. You always paint us playing music. But music, art….these are human things, Dean.” He lets his hand fall, but keeps his eyes forward.  “We’re soldiers. They don’t teach us to play the harp in Heaven, they train us to fight. But these angels are…soft. Kind. Angels you trust to protect. The kind of angels people pray to, build churches to.” He looks back at Dean, who is staring at him with a frown. He holds his gaze, steady, and takes a deep breath before finishing. “I wish I was—that any of us were—worthy of being depicted this way. I wish we were the angels you paint us as.”

There’s a long pause while Dean searches his face, obviously trying to decide on the right reaction. If they were at home, Cas thinks Dean might reach out and hug him. Instead, Dean reaches out to clap a hand on his shoulder—he lets it linger there, and Cas knows what it means, so that’s okay, too. “For what it’s worth,” he starts, and his voice is softer than the last time he spoke. “You’re the closest thing to those angels that I’ve ever seen.”

It’s a nice sentiment, but Cas smiles sadly as he turns back to the painting. “I’m not any kind of angel anymore,” he points out, and tries his hardest to keep his voice neutral.

Dean squeezes his shoulder and tilts his head, trying to recapture Castiel’s gaze. “Hey. Look at me.” Reluctantly, he looks back over. “Your wings weren’t what made you a good angel, alright?” he brings his other hand up to poke into Castiel’s chest. “That was all in here.”

He sounds like he’s quoting the Wizard of Oz, and Cas wants to make a joke about that, but he’s also never wanted to kiss Dean more. He doesn’t, because they’re in a museum, and they’re still working up to that, but he makes a note to do it later. Instead, he reaches up and pulls Dean’s hand away from his chest, links it in his own, and squeezes.

“Thank you,” he says, and it’s earnest, and it’s for everything.

Dean smiles. He understands. He squeezes back.

She definitely has, more than once, banged on Liz’s door at 3AM just to hear her sister squeal like a little girl

Honestly, she probably purposefully gets their pose wrong, just to see her sisters annoyance and laugh when Kid gets smacked

She likes origami

Probably first got into it because of the paper ninja stars

Then just found it relaxing

She most likely makes the ninja stars mostly, and keeps a box of her origami creations somewhere

Has in the past, and will not hesitate to do so again, beat someone up for kicks or just to destress

Patty has two faces, the childlike innocent one, and the insane anger one

So it’s not too far fetched to say that she’ll hide her anger till she can corner someone alone and beat them up

Or that she gets bored and decides to do so

Maka Albarn:

She’s a Harry Potter nerd and you can’t convince me otherwise

She loves the concept of magic

Loves the dynamic between Ron and Hermione, though feels a bit of Deja vu thinking about it

Probably used to write fanfiction, but in a way that made it seem like it was actually part of the story

She will hit you if you mention it

Definitely the type to compare books to their movie counterparts

Not in like, a critic way, but she will definitely rant about the differences, or how a character looks exactly like she imagined, or if they didn’t put in a particular scene she liked in the book

Forces Soul into movie nights, but it’s only the movie counterparts to her books

I can see her forcing everyone into a group study session

Be super organized about it, and setting it up in a way so that no one can refuse

She probably has specific ways for everyone to study

Like having Black☆Star work out while studying so he retains the knowledge better

Or setting up the session in a symmetrical way so Kid doesn’t freak out about it

He’s influenced by “toxic masculinity” and fully believes that being vulnerable in a serious way “isn’t cool”

He will bottle everything up so deep down inside that it seems impossible for it to surface

Want to cry or break down? Nope, gotta be cool

Started crying in front of someone and can’t stop? He’s not crying, you’re clearly blind

Speaking of crying, once he starts, and I mean genuinely starts, it’s so hard to get him to calm down, and even then the tears don’t stop

Sometimes he’ll start to freak out and send himself into a panic attack because the tears just won’t stop

He’s that influenced by the thought of being vulnerable

On a lighter note, he does adore playing the piano, but the only person he’ll play for is Maka

He swears it’s not favoritism, and it’s partially true, but favoritism does play a large role in it

He frequently drags Maka to his room to show her a new piece he put together

And if he notices her feeling a little down that day, he’ll start playing a song that he knows she likes

He definitely knows about her love for old timey romance songs and is very embarrassed to admit a lot of the pieces he constructs are based off of that

The walls are p a p e r t h i n , he can hear her music through the walls

He secretly finds it adorable when he catches her listening to it because she’ll be dancing around to it

He also frequently finds himself thinking about those moments

He’s the stereotype that parents tell little girls about, with how boys will bully their crush

He’s a lot more playful and easy going, but still teases Maka, so much

Unlike Maka, he’s fully aware of his feelings, and acknowledges them, but bottles it up, only letting himself entertain the thought every once in a while

He jabs at Maka’s lack of “Cupids Kettlebells” as a way to try and ensure she won’t fall for him, because he doesn’t know what he’ll do if she does

He reads the same dictionaries that Maka does, not for fun, but so he can know just what the actual h e l l she’s saying

More than once he’s had to look up a particular word or phrase online because he can’t find it in the dictionary

“What the hell? It’s an old Victorian saying!? Where does she keep finding this stuff!?”

Subconsciously, as time goes on, he starts using old phrases as well, he was so embarrassed the first time he got caught saying “Keep your idle daddles* off of her!” when defending someone from a perv.

Black☆Star:

Is so unbelievably selfish with food

It’s not even funny

He will stab someone if they reach for his food

He surprisingly eats healthy most of the time though?

Says something like “I have to otherwise I’ll never surpass the gods!”

The only person who could ever p o s s i b l y steal his food is Tsubaki, but even that’s pushing it

He has the weirdest dreams, and I mean weird

Dreams like being turned into a potato and being cooked, mashed, and devoured by Tsubaki herself

He didn’t talk to her for a week after that dream, and refused to eat potatoes for a full year because “You never know if it could be a person turned into a potato!”

He was also very offended when Tsubaki ate potatoes during that time period

He takes things very literally

Like up above, if someone does something in a dream, he acts like it was real

Or if someone makes a joke about fighting, he will drag them outside to fight

He’s secretly scared of Tsubaki

But it’s for literally the stupidest reason

And he fully believes that because of it she could fight god and win

She used to have a pet cockroach

One of the flying ones

And he is so unbelievably scared of them, because for some reason they just don’t die, and they have w i n g s

So the fact she owned one as a pet scares him so bad even though it was literally for only a week

He has a soft spot for children

He doesn’t really know why

He just does

Is secretly really good with kids

Literally the definition of dad material

He has his flaws but still

Little kids are the only people who could steal his food and get away with it

Every. Time. and it makes the others so mad

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa:

What can I say, she’s perfect

She probably receives love letters

Reads them over when she’s feeling sad

Likes to keep them in a shoebox she painted

She definitely paints to unwind and relax

Likes to go outside and paint the sunrise/sunset

Takes note of beautiful scenery so she can come back in her free time and paint it

She probably draws/sketches too

Carries a sketchbook with her

More than likely has drawn Black☆Star doing something

Like napping or training

She’d never show him though, too scared of inflating his ego or giving him the wrong idea

Stress bakes/cooks

We know she cooks

Liz took advantage of it and pretended Tsubaki’s cooking was her own

So we know she does

Sometimes painting/drawing doesn’t cut it

So she heads to the kitchen and bakes away her worries and unwinds

The main reason Tsubaki would possibly be spared from Black☆Star’s stabbing habit with food is because she cooks all the meals

She makes sure everyone is comfortable around her

She’ll go as far as to learn someone's customs and practice cooking their unique cuisine just to make sure that they feel comfortable and safe in her presence

She radiates mom friend energy

She’s perfect mom material, perfect wife material, perfect in general honestly

Prosciutto's Fluff Alphabet

A/N: just some HCs I'd wanted to see for him a long time ago. Now that I feel more comfortable writing, I thought I'd do it for myself also because I just love Pros fluff so much.

Fluff Alphabet

A ctivities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

He likes to think his activities are more cultured than anything else. Who else would be pretentious about his interests than this man? Activities like visiting places like museums and art galleries, dining at fancy restaurants, happen often but not frequently. He's not opposed to simply staying home with you in your presence either or going on a walk in the park. In reality, he loves spending quality time with you any way he can, he has so little of it and the best way to spend it is with you.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Just like how Prosciutto believes in spiritual strength or weakness, he believes in inner beauty. Nothing is more beautiful to him than potential and will. But that doesn't mean you have to have either of those to be particularly beautiful to him. When he loves you, he starts to see that about you naturally, and it makes him think you've had those qualities about you the whole time. Physically, he can't help but love your eye.

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

You are so lucky. Prosciutto just so happens to be attuned to your emotions. While it takes a bit of time, he certainly knows well the type of things that make you happy. He's also a very good listener when it comes to hearing any problems you may be having. His shoulder is always there to cry on and his arms will envelope you with his warmth whenever you need. He likes to communicate so sometimes you'd have to tell him exactly what you want. Sometimes, if you allow it, he'll advise you and ask for the root of your hurt or worry. He will never push you to speak if you don't want to.

D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Pros is a planner by nature. When he starts to regard your relationship as serious, he automatically starts picturing you in his future. Being a traditional man, he dreams of a proper wedding and a perfect family with kids. He knows it's dangerous to get married or have kids in his line of work, that's why they're just dreams. Like the ones he used to have as a child but got crushed along the way. He's just happy you're there so he can dream about it.

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Very dominant, that's true. He doesn't take control of every single part of your life though, just some parts he considers to be traditionally masculine. Such as paying for dates, or even planning them often. A relationship with him always starts with him being the more dominant person but there is an eventual balance between you two that he likes. But expect him to assert his dominance over you throughout your relationship in various ways. It's in his nature to need to be in charge.

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

Prosciutto is a confrontational person, he doesn't like to let feelings fester until they turn into fights. He's upfront about his feelings, boundaries, rules etc. He likes to have discussions but that doesn't mean fights don't happen. He takes his time to reflect after fights and tries his best to see things from your perspective since it's something he struggles with. But eventual forgiveness is most likely to happen. He usually ends up giving the cold shoulder or a lecture when fighting, no in between.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Prosciutto goes everyday remembering that his life hangs on by a thread that is so easy to cut. He truly believed he wouldn't be able to find real love in a place like this. So he's more grateful than he can express to you. The fact that he has you to come home to, to love, and to love him back, it's more than he could ask for. He's also an attentive partner, and with acts of service as one of his love languages, he would never miss anything you do for him.

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

Depending on whether you are a civilian or part of the mafia, he may hide his work from you. But even then, he knows he can't hide it for too long. In a real relationship, he values honesty, so he would come clean but he would need time. However, he won't share everything, especially not immediately, he'll need time to open up to you fully.

I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

His life has hardened him over time, dwindling his optimism and hope. Before you, he was incredibly lonely and in denial of his loneliness. Your presence softened his tough demeanor over time ad even helped him see the silver linings in his life. While he still knows the dangers of living the way he does, he now actively wants to be alive for your sake instead of accepting his deathly fate. He also helps you toughen up when you need to or even soften your edges when he thinks it would be good for you.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Prosciutto wants to believe he's self-assured enough to not be jealous. But even he is human and has moments where he does feel slightly possessive over you. This is most apparent when he sees you interacting with his team mates. It's not that he doesn't want you to have fun, he just denies his bouts of insecurity. But with trust and lots of physical affection behind closed doors he's much better.

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

An experienced kisser, he knows what he's doing with his tongue when he uses it. He has a variety of them too, soft kisses, bruising kisses, lingering kisses etc. Your first kiss with him was likely a proper romantic kiss. He's the type to ask you if it's alright for him to kiss you before leaning forward and taking your face by a hand. His kisses always leave you wanting more.

L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

Not a shy ma by any means which is why he doesn't have trouble confessing. The only reason he would be hesitant is because he may not want to get you involved in his life or he may even misunderstand your feelings and assume you don't feel the same way. But he has resolve and will definitely use his opportunity to be straightforward with you saying he has feelings for you almost with a straight and stern face.

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

I'm sure you know by now how much he wants to get married. He's not the best at hiding it sometimes and his eyes linger on wedding dresses and rings when you two are out. It is likely he would propose in a place that is sacred to both of you, perhaps someplace where you shared a fond memory together. He absolutely has a beautiful speech planned. He would have a traditional wedding but the venue and attendance is completely dependent on your circumstances. What matters most to him is making you happy.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

He's a classic man so he uses classic names. Other than your full name and abbreviated nicknames (if applicable) he choses to call you 'dear' and 'darling' the most. If you request him of course he has no qualms with calling you names you really wish to hear. Over time he eventually opts for 'honey', especially if you're married.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

He's good at hiding his feelings from those he's not close to. But the people that know him well (his teammates) can spot differences in his behavior quite easily. He's very subtle with his show of love but they are there between dropping his strict façade and fond looks and touches that he gives you. If ever brought up, he will deny it vehemently, especially if he hasn't confessed yet.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Despite being naturally physical person, Prosciutto still thinks of his reputation which is why he's not partial to much PDA. However, he will occasionally hold your hand or keep an arm around your waist. Even if he's sparse with his shows of affection in public, he still likes the idea of letting others know you're with him. This is why most of his PDA comes through bragging about you than anything else, he has pride in his relationship.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

His aura is so daunting and intimidating, he may be able to use it t hi advantage when trying to convince someone to get things done for you. Not to mention his aging ability that gets you plenty of senior discounts. He also has several 'connections' and 'strings he can pull' if you want something shady or illegal at your fingertips.

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

Funnily enough, Prosciutto doesn't think of himself as romantic while being quite dutifully so. He doesn't realize how affectionate he' being when bringing you a beautiful rose or buying things you'd mentioned makes you happiest. He makes the cliché feel new every time he takes you out to dinner or a movie. But he's not opposed to take you somewhere else if you'd prefer. One thing is for sure, he's at your every beck and call, being your support when you truly need him.

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

This is simply Prosciutto's forte, it's like asking if fish swim in water. You've never met someone who wants to see you shine within your personal dreams as eagerly as he does. It brings him so much joy to see you succeed in anyhing you do. Whether you are an assassin or a civilian with wildly different aspirations, he will do his utmost to make sure you have all he support you need. If anyone has got your back, it's Prosciutto.

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

Routine has built Prosciutto's life from the ground up. No matter the adversary, he fishes out a pattern to create some form of normalcy and repetition. While he prefers to keep it that way in the long term, he doesn't mind deviating from it every once in a while. If there is an adventure you want to go on, try something different, he'll be at your side. Plus, he believes in a good spontaneous vacation to feel at ease sometimes.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

At the beginning of your relationship, this is something Prosciutto struggled with. He has a tendency to forget not everyone is exactly like him, not even you. In fact, especially not you. While empathy is not easy for him to channel, he wants to see you happy which is why he tries his best. Eventually, he knows you very well, he has a habit of learning as much as he can about his partner and you aren't spared.

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

Prosciutto thought he was doomed when it comes to finding love before you came along. Of course it makes him value you and your relationship greatly. The two most important things are you and his job. It's a tightrope walk balancing your relationship and what he does but he tries his best to keep the balance. He would never want you to believe his work is more important than you so with some convincing he may be one of the members willing enough to leave the mafia for you.

W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

When Prosciutto is truly vulnerable, you may catch moments where he acts rather silly, maybe even childish. They're incredibly rare and hard to catch but with you his playful side may come out of the woodwork. It's the most apparent when he doesn't realize he's being so carefree with his self-expression and doesn't mold his behavior back to being reserved.

X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

In private, he's a very cuddly and affectionate person, more likely to be all over you than not. When he knows there's no other people around, he's more demanding with kisses and cuddles, much like a cat coming to rub up against you without a word. It's his way of relaxing when he's stressed which is very often.

Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

Whether you know it or not, he definitely has a photo of you neatly tucked into his wallet or breast pocket. It's one of his very prized possessions since he often takes it out when he's missing you during a mission. You are a reminder that he has to go back and stay alive. Sometimes, when he's especially feeling lonely without you, he may give you a call during his down time.

Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

His life is so dangerous, he has no choice but to lay down his life for his relationship if push comes to shove. Between the both of you it's likely he's more ready to do that. His pride is high, making him regard his relationship as a very high stake and if he has to hide you away from his life to protect you, he may convince you to do that, having as many enemies as he does.

When did you get into Drarry and why? Sometime at the end of 2020/start of 2021 - I was nostalgic for my childhood fandom, and was excited to enjoy it through a queer lens. Also, @amywaterwings told me that there were a bunch of fics I needed to read haha

Which Drarry fic hooked you? What We Pretend We Can't See - that alone probably says it all, but listen. It's Draco as a museum curator with an anxiety-ridden brain that never shuts up. I work in a museum! I have an anxiety-ridden brain that never shuts up! It was the perfect first fic for me to read, and I re-read it on a regular basis 💜

Top three favorite Drarry fics: This question is mean because I can't limit myself to just three, but I'll do my best... What We Pretend We Can't See is my absolute favorite, full stop. BUT, since I already listed that one, I'm going to list three more.

Little Deaths and How to Avoid Them by @greaseonmymouth with art by dustmouth - I was drawn to this fic because of ace!Harry, cried multiple times because of how seen I felt while reading this fic, and when I finished I realized that I was now keeping the world of this fic in a corner of my heart, and just thinking about it gives me the same warm, comforting feeling that I had the first time I read it. I think about the painting in the reading room all the time and I'm happier for it 😊

The Liars Department by @dorthyanndrarry with art by @snarkyships-drarryside - I love this fic so much!!! I was initially drawn in by the art, because I had to know why everyone was dressed the way they were, and the second I started reading I was captivated by the fic too. The premise is incredibly clever, the characters are delightful to read, and every description is lush and delicious! I have returned to this fic countless times since first reading it, and I babble about it frequently to my irl friend because it's hardly ever far from the front of my mind. Also, the museum scene makes me so happy!!! And Draco is so quick-witted about everything, and I love the mirror, and Asbestos is perfection, and I frequently forget that the house elf society in this fic isn't canon, and and and.... Look, this is a wonderful fic, please go read it immediately 💖

The Fall of the Veils by @letteredlettered - this fic was recommended to me because of ace!Draco, and there is one line in particular in this fic that made me sob the first time I read it because of how perfectly it explained the thoughts I could never articulate, and how lovely that entire scene is. I've bookmarked this fic, and my notes say "You know which fic this is, and you love it. Don't cry too much <3" However, this fic is not just ace!Draco! The plot is fantastic, and even though I don't usually adore crime-centered or politics-centered fics I absolutely loved this one, and I highly recommend it!

Why can’t you quit them? I decided that I loved Draco when I was six years old and first saw Tom Felton smirk and deliver his opening line, "It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." I'm sorry, but I've always had a soft spot for blonds, and his sweet little face could not convince me that he was evil. So, I was incredibly frustrated when, upon the release of the 7th book, he still had not received the redemption arc I was sure he deserved. I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching Draco Malfoy become a better person, and when you add in how much I love their enemies-to-lovers dynamic and the frequency with which Draco (and sometimes Harry) shares my own quirks and mental health issues, I can't walk away. Plus, Draco usually has fantastic style and I love that so much. (Also also, Drarry comes with a supporting cast of Hermione, Ron, and the Slytherins, so I couldn't ask for anything better!)

Would you rather be friends with Harry or Draco? Draco, for sure! His style, his wit, the commentary he would give about everyone and everything, it would all make for a fantastic friendship

Who breaks your heart more often?  Draco - I think I tend to read fics where he is more vulnerable or doesn't have as strong of a support system as Harry does, and he's trying so hard and just needs a hug. I love both of them, but Draco has had my love from day one, and he breaks my heart all the time (luckily, Harry usually loves him enough to put the pieces back together for me)

Ideal career for Harry? For Draco? Harry should be a teacher, especially if it's an unconventional teaching position (kindergarten for muggleborns, for example, instead of DADA at Hogwarts (although that is also good)). Draco should do whatever makes him happy. I've loved a lot of fics where Draco is a healer, where he gets to do various things in the potions field, and even a few where being an Unspeakable seems to work well for him, but my absolute favorite career for Draco will always be museum curator (please blame my own personal career and WWPWCS)

Harry and Draco are being sent to a desert island for a week with plenty of food and water. Each are allowed to bring three additional items (no wands). What do they bring? Harry: a snitch, a broom, a hoodie; Draco: he’d probably try to throw 9,000 grooming products into a bag and claim the bag was one item. The other two would be a sunhat and lube. <- these answers are from @kbrick and they're very correct, so I'm not going to argue with them at all. However, I think Draco might also want to bring a book (or twenty)

Favorite non-Drarry HP character? Ooh, I would have said Hermione for most of my life, but now it's a close tie between Hermione and Ron. Hermione was my role model for most of my academic life and childhood, and she's amazing, but I've recently started to love reading Ron more too, and I love the both of them together

If you had to pick one, enemies to lovers or (enemies to) friends to lovers? Enemies to friends to lovers! I know that's having my cake and eating it too, but I absolutely adore when people in love are also the best of friends, and watching them go from enemies to friends to pining friends to lovers is my favorite thing to read

Would you rather read a fic that made you laugh or one that made you cry? Most of my favorite fics have made me cry, but in the cathartic way where I sob 3/4 of the way through and then feel so comforted and happy at the end - so, I think I'd prefer to cry, but only if there's a happy ending! (I do want to laugh a bit too though.... can I just read all the fics??)

Three songs that scream Drarry to you (feel free to include the Drarry-est lyrics!): The Heart is a Muscle by Gang of Youths - I'm actually writing a fic based around this song, it's the most Drarry song I've ever heard, and it gives me so many good emotions. I would put some of my favorite lyrics here, but I would just end up writing out the whole song, so.... go listen to it! As for the other two songs, well, I'll be honest - I can't really think of any? Usually when I listen to music I think about whether I can choreograph to it, and most of my playlists are devoted to things like that, so I don't have many songs that make me think of any fandoms or pairings.

Favorite authors outside of fic? Alexis Hall!!! Okay, so, I've only read two of his books, but I read Boyfriend Material twenty times in a row in less than a month (I've probably read it over fifty times total by now), and I absolutely devoured Something Fabulous. His writing feels very fun to me, and I love how his characters often sound like my own internal monologues (hi, Luc, I love you for being the same sort of disaster 💜), and I always feel like I'm being hugged when I read his work. I also really enjoy Eva Ibbottson, because although many of her books are somewhat formulaic romances with extra-idyllic settings and minimal physical intimacy and some of my irl friends have complained about that, those are the exact qualities I look for in books that make me happy, and my copy of A Company of Swans in particular is worn thin from how often I've read it. Donna still lost her parents but she is coping with the pain, she has on the face a big scar caused by the car accident that kill them both.

In good days she takes this kind of pics in black and white for herself only. She met Alcina one day on a zoom meeting and after that she made dresses only for her and her daughters who suffer from this rare condition. She knows pain, she knows physical and emotional pain so she tries to help with Angie. Donna sent the dresses to the castle and Alcina was surprised by the quality and the effort Donna put in them.

Donna is a well rewarded dollmaker with the Alcina's support because she helped her selling the first dolls.

The animated and witchie dolls are only for Donna necessities. Donna learned how to use a pc but she doesn't want to communicate by it outside of work, she has an online shop. Alcina manages the local art gallery with big profits. When they first date Alcina was a bit unconvinced about dating a veiled woman with a doll, but she was interested in Donna talent, in her unique disposition for art and her hands. They spent the time together chatting and drinking tea. Alcina neves asked about the veil, Donna one day just take her hand and feelings of warm and affection start to raise in her chest. Protection, she felt protected by Alcina and included in conversations, art and in projects such as a new person because that woman is so enthusiast every time she can listen to her. When Donna is talking,Alcina smile quietly as a proud mama with a difficult baby and Donna felt that. She was happy to have someone who cares about her, someone who tries tirelessly to improve her skills and someone who is kind. Alcina is charismatic and kind.

Donna was impressed by Alcina's figure. She never experienced a connection with anything but dolls and the gardener at villa Beneviento. Alcina surely is not impressed by a thing in this world but when Angie once tried to hug her she felt her heart melting. Donna holding Alcina's hands was the biggest progression in her life, but then comes more with the doll's hugs.

Alcina one of those days, the bad days of sickness, opened about her daughters and the loss, the disease that was consuming all of them for the first time. Donna sobbed and cried for her under the veil. She takes her hand once again. Angie declared she is sorry for the pain,the fact they were abandoned by many hospitals and the inability to do something adequate to help. Alcina asked Donna to manage the art gallery when she's dead, to not sell the castle she lived in with the daughters. Donna caressed gently the beautiful pale face of the other woman, for a long and intense moment.

"I promise I'll do everything. " she whispered . Angie was in Alcina lap hugging the best she can her big body.

Alcina would never been able to say all of those things to her daughters. She was supported only by Donna in that way. You don't want your daughters to be worried about you as a mother.

Then time goes by and dates happened more frequently with some medical help for Donna. Donna's power were huge and still remained that way but with medications other things were able to function like eating properly food or some days to take a short walk outside in the garden, so she started to actively met Alcina in her castle.

Alcina one day passed after her daughters. She passed quietly, with the supportive and calming presence of Donna.

Donna and Angie built three memorial dolls to put their memories into and one bigger: they choose carefully the outfits, the hairstyle, the accessories.

After a big moment of hesitation they choose to not animate them. They were in peace. Donna experienced happiness and loss. But she was happy. She walks to the castle and the gallery wearing a veil darker than usual and some flowers sewed in it.

Angie took her place at Alcina's office desk and also Donna.

One day a woman knocked at the museum door.

A tall, gorgeous brunette with a smartphone and white, a bit vintage, dress.

Donna smiled.

"Is that you, darling?You reincarnated faster than I thought".

The woman show her eyes under this black hat and a ferocious smile.

"How could I ever left you alone?"

"So you recognize us? Do you...?"

Alcina smiled and that was the only thing Donna needed to stand up and hug her strongly, crying on her chest.

Alcina was moving her hands on Donna's back to calm her ,Angie was on the long leg of the tall artist.

Donna suddenly lift up the veil showing her cracked face only for a second that Alcina would never forget.

Donna put back the veil with a visible shake in her hands and sobbing loudly.

It was a good day, the first of a long list. When Donna shows an emotion, is good enough for Alcina to be happy.

Donna never left the veil and the long dresses she liked to wear, but she accepted another paint by Alcina: a portrait in a completely new dress that makes feel her uncomfortable at the beginning, but she accepted that perception when she saw the work finished. She was elegant,tall, shining from inside and also under the veil but Alcina's brush was able to preserve her quiet and lonely, melancholy self even in the sunny background. That's how Alcina saw her from the very beginning? As a strong,elegant figure busy in sewing dresses, drinking tea, summoning spirits and reading books? Donna touched the canvas with a finger.

"Look,Angie,what do you think?" she asked to the doll.

"Mom beautiful " Angie declared from Alcina shoulder,that doll is fast in climbing "we will conquer the world!"

"I think your doll has some taste,my heart" said Alcina.

"Thank you,I built her and I am very picky about demons".

Alcina laughed .

"That's why I love you".

"Why,Alcina?"

"Because you choose your women as your dolls: elegant,strong and with an art addiction".
