I want to draw but I can't, brain uncooperative. So, have some random sketches and practice drawings of one of my Tron OCs.

Meet... Zuri.

Name: Zuri. Pronounced "Zoo-ree", not "Shure". Likes: Knowing secrets. The sound of the rain. Finding the point where fascination becomes fear. Dislikes: Thoughts that linger. a year!!! as of today i have now been drawing these funny little pizza freaks, to the exclusion of almost everything else, for!!! an entire year!!! i wanted to do a nice group shot/lineup of everybody to compare to when i first started trying to draw them because oh boy were they bad. i never even posted most of them anywhere because they were so bad. but im posting them here, now, to see how everything's changed/evolved.

this is probably the hardest time i've ever had trying to figure out how to work with a style, but we got there eventually; i'm pretty happy with the handle i've got on everybody now...dont let ur memes be dreams. lots of unimportant journaling and idle thoughts abt it below.

older pics

the first one is the VERY first time i drew them, before i thought i was going to actually have any interest in drawing them [lmao]; it was just the one isolated image, for my friendserver, to illustrate the funney message, so there was no attempt to make it Good or actually understand anything going on w/ the designs or style.

second is the original run of practices sketches to start trying to figure them out for real; done after i started having ideas for the comics and such and realized oh god maybe i am actually gonna draw fanart for this. [again, lol, and lmao.]

third one is the first pt art thing i posted on here. there were a couple weeks of sprite studies between this one and the previous image. the one on the top right wasn't part of that post i just threw it on as space filler; i'd intended to shift to doing Sprite Redraws But Stylized to explore tings more, but that was the only one i did. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

individual characters

peppino: by far the hardest dear god. bro what ARE your shapes how DOES your face work. jesus christ. everything i have trouble with this style for, peppino has it in excess. i draw in polygons! i need consistency! and that is the last thing this kind of style is concerned with. they are made of squarshy clay and i do not understand how to mold them. i was really hoping trying to learn this game's style would GIVE me that kind of flexibility for fun exaggerated facial expression but i don't think much came of it in the end 😔. anyway on the bright side all this means once i got peppino figured out a little bit everybody else clicked way easier.

fake peppino: honestly i never did anything with him on purpose except for how his eyes work + the perma-smile thing. i figured ok hes supposed to look weird and off model so whatever happens with him happens. and it did. and it kept happening. it is still, in fact, happening.

noise/ette: somehow, for every bit that peppino was the least natural thing i've ever tried, these two worked pretty much right off the bat. i still don't understand it, seeing as pretty much all the things at play for peppino are also at work for them. i think the new sketches are actually a little worse than older ones but not enough that i care.

gustavo: really funny bc i drew him on model twice and just went 'okay, cool nice, easy, um. he doesn't have any fucking legs?' fortunately he was the only one i had a strong idea for how to stylize him [square] and it worked exactly as i was hoping so wahoo.

brick: is an animal and therefore 5000x easier and more natural for me to draw/stylize than anything else in the cast. that is Just a rat bro. i can draw a rat.

gerome: i think the funniest one here. the most drastic and least necessary change imo. i was gonna have him be really small at first, like smaller than the noises, but then i just... didn't. he's just peppino-sized now. also i gave him like. actual human facial structure, which is funny bc in most cases i'd do anything to avoid, but it works well for his being A Rock to give him some angles and definition like that+ to differentiate his vibe from the rest of the cast who are all very squishy. also since he is essentially Just A Head it's good to emphasize that too ig.

john: i only drew john a couple times but he gets to be here because i like him. and because most of the stuff i applied to gerome was readily applicable to john, though i did try to keep him a little more uncanny because he is a Huge And Lanky Freak. i hate that he is barefoot btw but idk how to make his color balance look right with shoes.

pizzahead: i did not want to put him on here honestly but i Have drawn him a handful of times and more importantly i didn't know what i was gonna do with john's pose if i didn't have him there to be glared at. the only thing that's different with him is giving him wider-bottomed pants, which i got from when i tried to draw these guys in clone high style [i never posted that one either][i will eventually]

snick: he gets to be here because 1. he's like 6 lines 2. i like him and 3. ive scribbled him a few times offhand and it went pretty well

misc

there are some guys missing because those are guys i didn't draw enough [or at all] to have gotten comfortable with them. sorry

i would have Liked to shade these but for the time being i have accepted that my grasp of light/shadow has decayed to the point im not going to be happy with anything i try there, so For Now i am working on my presentation with flats i guess. gerome has a shadow only because he's shaded like that ingame and looks naked without it

anyway if you are still reading [hi?] i get to shamelessly plug now. i'm over the hill of my pizza run now, and while i still have plenty of things i want to make here, most of the bigger more in-depth ones have passed. pizza tower was the first thing in THREE YEARS to get me out of my oc groove to doing fanart, and once i am done with my ideas here i will be going right back to it. if you like my art or how i write characters/interactions you should check out my oc/webcomic blog @jamverse . i can't promise people who like pizza stuff will be terribly into my designs, but i can guarantee i treat my guys with the exact same sort of tone i handle the pt guys with. and hell, i've mentioned it a few times before, but like 70% of my characterization for fake pep is just copied off one of my characters, so if u are going to miss him... he will still be there in spirit >;p

and if you dont care about any of that and are still reading thank you anyway. actually making these comics + seeing how shockingly well-received they've been has done a lot for my confidence, and for seeing that my kind of stuff IS something people enjoy :')

BOBA AU - CHAPTER 1 EXTRAS

I had actually drawn a few more things than could fit within the 30-image-per-post limit. Here are the ones that didn't make the cut, with commentary!

(tw: mild animal abuse, n*zi mention, suggestive themes)

Zilch's animal companions. I named Carmina Burana and Tortellini, Gucci and Bosch were named by my friends - though Bosch was supposed to be called Hieronymus, it just didn't fit on the nametag lol

I wanted to illustrate some examples of Zilch casually mistreating/neglecting the animals but this was as far as I got. I don't think he would be a full on animal abuser, just... the type of person who likes having a bunch of pets to show off but doesn't really think about properly caring for them. He likes the aesthetics of animals much more than the logistics.

This was gonna be the chapter cover and I forgot. Oops.

This was just practice drawing the church characters from their sprites.

Zilch: I must say, it's an unexpected pleasure to run into another kindred spirit around here. I'm Zilch~

This scene was actually cut deliberately. I drew it before I decided exactly what the Nun's issue with Zilch would be and then once I did, I felt like it didn't fit anymore. Zilch is still excited to see someone else with ears and tail like him, but in the final version, he's a lot more derisive about it.

I imagine the Nun is, like, an actual animal-human hybrid whereas Zilch is a furry with a wallet that can afford bioengineered bodymods. (One day, my friends... one day...)

Zilch being flippant and Halara being dismissive/tsundere. Couldn't really find a place to put it but I still like the drawing - even if I did accidentally give Zilch human ears.

By the way, you might notice Zilch hasn't been wearing his cap. There are two reasons. One is to show off that his ears aren't actually connected to it. If I had the time to go back and redraw the prologue with him wearing it - so Halara's "holy fuck" reaction makes more sense here - I would. (Not really worth trying to fix though, not until the rest of the story is done.)

But the other reason is that upon looking closer at Zilch's original design, I thought it was a little too evocative of Nazi imagery and wasn't really comfortable with it. It's not really the same style of hat, sure, but combined with the swastikas in his eyes??? yeah no way is that not intentional. (I redesigned his eye symbols to be catlike slit pupils instead.)

I get he (or, the hitman, I guess) is supposed to be a villain, and a minor one, in the original game... but here I'm gonna flesh him out a bit more. So I guess in that sense the removal of the hat symbolizes his growth as a character beyond his terrible awful fascist upbringing lol (more on that in the Gumshoe Gabs soon)

If I were making this an actual game it would be fun to have Yuma get a fun little added gameplay element of using Zilch's Forte like he does with Halara's. He gets some little animal friends!!!

I imagined Zilch would ask to be carried, but Halara won't do it without getting paid an exorbitant amount. And then Zilch forks over the cash on the spot. Yuma screams internally. If he had that the whole time why were they even trying to negotiate over the coat???!? Why does he still have his own debt to pay if Zilch could just cover the whole thing up front????

Halara has to pretend not to be enthusiastic about this opportunity.

Shinigami is... there, I guess.

Was originally gonna have Seth say that out loud but then I remembered he doesn't want to lose his job. (It's okay, he loses it anyway.)

(Also yes this is pre-Vivia-DLC.)

And then the mystery is solved!

Zilch feels indebted to Halara for saving him from the Nail Man, and wants to follow their example, turn it around, treat his animals better... his act of goodwill here is extremely performative, though. But, hey, everyone's gotta start somewhere!

Ultimately I cut this scene after coming up with the cat bed idea. (Was very tempted to have Halara cruelly taking the coat from the boy, but just decided to skip it instead.)

So Zilch kinda idolizes Halara now... which is fine... but then the morning after he really lets his simp flag fly.

Congrats on your furry boyfriend, I guess?????

Every single Rainworld artist, new or old, please read!

So while this is on my mind, I just thought I would say something at the moment. I have seen so many, so many, artists copy or very closely copy a design from another persons since they really like their style and hope that if their style looks like this famous artists then they will get the same attention. This is slightly annoying to me, now drawing other peoples art or practicing design by using someone else's design then somehow in anyway making it super original is perfectly fine by me, it's really good to do that! But when you copy someone's design so closely that is looks like your trying to rip off their designs, that's not ok. another problem i see is people hating their designs cause they are not "detailed" or "pretty" or "different" enough from others. Now this post is gonna be about how you can make your own character with existing characters WITHOUT using someone else's design and not making the character "look boring" to you and others. Now no character is boring, everyone's different styles are amazing, this is not suppose to be a bad thing, this is just suppose to help other artists think better with making canon characters look original. Im gonna use Hunter as an example since I was drawing him when i thought of this. So hunter, let's take this step by step: Step 1: Do NOT look at a canon photo unless it's necessary for like a certain iconic scar or eye color or color or anything else like that, but completely IGNORE that canon design. Step 2: Break up what the canon character looks like into words. EX: Hunter is a slugcat with his color being on the red scale. He is being infected with the rot and is NSH's messenger. Now with this description a thousand different ideas can be made, I mean on the red scale could be red, pink, or all the way to a brown even! Then infected by rot? He could be fully infected by rot or he could be partly or be halfway, maybe he was cured from rot. And NSG's messenger? He could have a weird marking resembling that, or always have a green neuron with him, or have green eyes or green clothing or green markings, really anything! Now wasn't that easy ^w^ Step 3: Sketch/Doodle Do NOT instantly make a design choice unless you have one in mind right away, start doodling first, either digital or on paper and see how you like the design first, and if you like it then there you go! Now you ofc can change your design later on but it's better to have a main idea instead of posting something right away then regretting it since you don't like it. EX: For my Rivulet I first had him being a little more like the true rivulet design since the lore for my AU was different then, but when I was finally drawing him I didn't like his design and so I started messing around with it and finally I came up with my water bat design for him. Step 4: Finally, you have made it this far into the steps, you may now draw it completely, make a ref sheet or don't, join in on character group drawings and yada yada, you have your own design and you like it and that's all that matters! Step 5: Have fun, you are not limited by the canon design. Design however you like, give them any lore that probably isn't canon if you want to, make them aroace or gay or lesbian, change their gender, mess around, make them siblings with random people that shouldn't be their siblings, mess around with families and personalities, do what YOU want, no what others want or like ^w^ Hope this helped anyone who needed it!

Ya'll can blame my best friend for this. I wasn't even gonna originally post this, I just wanted to practice writing smut. He's a bad influence.

Colin tore open the letter.

"Oh my god," Colin said, falling into the pew. "Oh my god."

Damn! Damn, damn, damn, damn! Penelope's mind raced. Colin knew she was Lady Whistledown now, the secret she has safely guarded from the families of the ton since her debut.

What was she to do? What was she to do? She couldn't count on him being quiet, couldn't rely on their friendship. He had just proven she couldn't when she begged him not to read her private correspondence and he tore it open anyway. For what reason Penelope couldn't fathom.

This is a completely different Colin than the one who was kind enough to allow her to kiss him-

Penelope's thoughts drifted back to something Gen once told her.

There is little that a man won't do if it earns him the pleasure of a woman's body.

Well Colin seemed at least somewhat attracted to her body if how tight he held her during their kiss in the drawing room said anything. She's also doomed to be a spinster according the whispers of others, so there's no one keeping track of what she does like they do the young debutantes. At the very least she could try it to get her letter back.

Taking advantage of his already seated position Penelope came closer. Her hands reached out to cradle his face while her thumbs the traced along his cheekbones.

"Penelope-!"

Penelope crashed her lips onto Colin's.

Colin was stiff underneath her.

Please work, please work. Penelope never needed such a crazy plan to work like this one now.

Colin's hands, which were by his side, found their way to her hips. Then it was as if Penelope had awoken a beast, she found herself being yanked forward on his lap, her legs on either side of his hips.

Colin's tongue licked at her lips. Penelope granted him access and Colin wasted no time in exploring her mouth. His tongue pursuing her own. Penelope's hands went from cradling his face to running through his hair. Colin's hands traveled as well, one seemed to pull up her skirts, while the other tried to pull down her bodice.

"Colin," Penelope gasped, breaking the kiss. She rose up on her knees to help assist him in his mission to bunch up her skirts.

At the lose of her lips Colin started tracing the curve of her neck with open mouth kisses. Nipping and sucking at her pulse point.

"Penelope," Colin moaned. "Oh Penelope."

"Colin," Penelope moaned.

Penelope glanced down; her letter now laid forgotten about a foot away. She could grab it now and run; he would have no proof she was Lady Whistledown without that letter. But . . . Penelope found she did not want to leave her current position. She may be committing a sin at this very moment, but she found it felt too good stop. Besides, there was a confession box somewhere in the church if she felt the need to ask for forgiveness later.

Penelope was taken out of her thoughts when Colin pulled her hips back down. This time her skirts were no longer in the way as her sex rubbed against Colin's freed erection. Penelope wrapped her arms around his neck for support.

"Oh!" Penelope moaned. "Oh god!" She began to rock her hips against his, creating that delicious friction that had both of them moaning.

Colin brought Penelope's hips back up only bring them back down. This time slowly entering her until their hips met. Penelope has never felt this full before, this was not like when she used her hand in the past. Using the hands on her hips Colin guided Penelope in a movement that had them both moaning.

"Oh god," Colin growled, his voice vibrating against her throat. "You're so wet. You feel like heaven."

Colin's mouth had left her neck and now sucked on her breasts that he had freed from her bodice. Licking and nipping until her nipples were hard. Sucking marks on each one.

Colin's hips rose, meeting Penelope's and somehow sinking even deeper into her. He found that one spot that was guaranteed to make Penelope scream.

Penelope's moans grew louder and louder. No doubt both heaven and hell alike could hear her.

"Penelope, Penelope," Colin whispered her name like a prayer.

The pressure inside of her kept building up and up. When Penelope felt like she couldn't take it anymore she fell over the edge into ecstasy. She could feel herself clench around him right before he himself came inside her.

She'll have to talk to Gen about getting some of those special herbs, and where to find a supplier if her plan moves forward.

Colin rested against the pew, catching his breathe. He stared up at her with a blissful smile on his face. Using the momentary rest Penelope pulled up her bodice and rose on her knees, that wonderful feeling of fullness disappearing. She leaned closer to whisper in Colin's ear. "I have an offer for you."

Before Colin could say anything, Penelope hopped off his lap, snatched her letter, and ran for the door.

"Penelope!"

Her hack was gone, but that was okay, she was going to tell him to leave anyway. Colin's carriage, the one she was looking for instead, was still in front of the church. Perfect.

Penelope climbed inside, folding her letter and stuffing it into her bodice. Colin came scrambling in after her not long after. Still closing the door Colin knocked on the roof signaling the driver to go.

Once they were moving Penelope began speaking before she could lose her nerves.

"I have an offer for you."

Colin narrowed his eyes. He opened his mouth to speak but Penelope continued on. She knew if she allowed him to say anything before her she would not be able to bring herself to say it.

"Keep my identity as Lady Whisteldown a secret, and I will be your mistress."

Please take the offer, please take it.

Penelope stuck out her hand. "Do we have a deal?"

Colin only stared at her. His eyes taking in her form like it's the first time he's ever seen her. After what felt like an eternity he took her hand, only to pull her in his lap once more.

"Deal," Colin said, sealing his lips over her's.

Hi! I'm a super big fan of your art, everything is so pretty and amazing and I just wanna consume it every time I see one of your comics or illustrations. I just wanted to ask (cause I looked around a lil but didn't see anything covering this, if I missed it so sorry haha) what art program/tablet do you use to draw? Also, do you have any tips for beginning artists? I'm trying to get into drawing but I'm not too sure where to start TwT

Honestly if I were to offer any beginning artist tips I think the biggest one is to just have fun. I know it sounds silly but really like just have fun and don't worry about what you're drawing being perfect or exactly what you had in mind or anything like that. As long as you're having fun and doing your best and not stressing about what you're creating you'll find yourself wanting to draw and create more- and it's within time and persistence that your skills develop

Also while it's good to draw every day since you do need to actively draw more to improve, don't stress about making sure you do! Just go at your own pace and draw when you feel like it!

I think I stress both of these points since they're things I've been working on and struggling with off and on too, realizing I don't have to be constantly drawing and that what I do draw doesn't have to be perfect, and honestly my comics have been a great exercise in letting myself make things "imperfect"

Relating to actual drawing skill sets, I do think that doing figure drawing is incredibly important since learning anatomy is crucial to drawing, even if it's not the most fun thing. Really if you see someone in a cool pose- typically real life photos- if you just try to see the shapes the human body makes and just loosely sketch a messy version of where their body shapes are can help. You don't have to break them down super basically like some tutorials do, unless that helps you! Everyone draws differently so there's no Right Way to do anything. Here's some examples from some I did a while back! I used highlighters since it made it so I couldn't erase, so I had to be more purposeful in my lines, but you can use any medium you want!

And don't worry if it doesn't look exactly like the photo you're drawing from- you're learning!

Another thing is that references are your friend, looking at things and figuring out how to draw them is incredibly helpful so don't be afraid to look up anything you're trying to draw for help

Something I used to do specifically for learning, was looking at photos or even pieces of art I thought were cool and then trying to draw something how I saw it, to understand someone else's use of shape and form. These were things I kept in sketchbooks to just figure out how to draw things like hands and feet and legs, using real life and other's works as a reference to teach myself

Then later while drawing on my own, if I couldn't figure out how to draw something I would go back to my own references and practices to help myself by using my own referenced art as a reference- here's a whole page of hands I drew a couple years ago while looking at photos of hands and also some art (uhhh I believe it was from GinjaNinjaOwO on youtube- if you DO post anything you've referenced poses or elements from, be sure to credit the original artist you've taken reference from!)

You can see I've got a lot of mistakes and scribbles and wonky forms- because I was just trying to understand the shapes and practice drawing hands on my own time, this wasn't anything I had ever drawn with the intention of posting lmao

But! You can do this for any kind of thing you're trying to learn, from arms to facial shapes to hands- just learning what kind of shapes and forms bodies or anything else you're trying to draw take

As far as the side of what kind of stuff to USE to draw, really I'd say to not be afraid of pencil and paper, I know digital art can have a nice and clean polish to it, but especially if you're learning it's really nice to just have a sketchbook (any kind work, just find paper you like! I've been using dot grid notebooks lately!) and a pencil or pen or really anything you feel comfortable with, that you can just loosely draw with and use whenever you like

For digital hardware while I do LOVE the iPad, I know they're pricier and not everyone jives with them, so I'd recommend drawing tablets by the brand Huion, since I've had a great time with them in the past when I used my laptop with Paint Tool Sai, which I also highly recommend as a drawing program, but keep in mind you can use anything! I have a friend who makes AMAZING works just using mspaint lmao

Honestly! In the end, like I said, just focus on having fun and drawing things that you want to without worry for being perfect or 100% anatomically accurate or anything. There's fundamentals that are the best base to build off of but never stress too much about it. Have fun creating! 💙💜

just to clarify i ended up combining the hues in groups of three--so instead of drawing Everyday, i would just have to make ten pieces for the whole month. honestly this was a really good decision because with my other obligations* (*school fucking kicking my ass) i definitely wouldn't have been able to keep up with a daily piece LOL. i think if i were to do this again i would keep that schedule

on that note i did find this really fun and i definitely wanna see if i can do it again next year!! i might try a different set of hues/color schemes just to keep it fresh though. doing a mix of lineart/lineless pieces would also be good practice

several people have said in tags that the revstar tower looks like a banana which was NOT on purpose but in hindsight that is extremely funny so i'll pretend that it was

wanted to try practicing something different for each of these pieces but most of all i was trying to beat the same face allegations

i had thumbnails for all of these except for the l'arachel piece (wasn't sure what to draw for 28-30 for a while). used all of em except for the ivan one because i didn't think the original concept would have worked with neon greenLOL

my favorite one composition-wise is definitely the akane one, but color-wise i think the lewyn looks super slay. kind of still sad about how the 13sar piece turned out i think it mightve been a little too ambitious OTL... but i would like to revisit it someday. not a fan of how inconsistent the lineart thickness looks in some of these either but i'll just be more cognizant of that next time around

Someone said my art reminded them of family guy yesterday. I don't quite understand. I'm not taking any offense to it I don't necessarily understand?(they claimed this about the first one) I think it might he because it's a cartoony art style but it still has all basic humanoid features (except the hands which are 4 instead of 5) to elaborate,in cases like eddsworld and such they don't have noses or how some animators on YouTube don't include eyes or mouths. But it still contains cartoony elements and the features are still slightly exaggerated. Not sure that's just my interpretation.

I will no exsplain each drawing

1.

Indented to be characters Spike and Darkstar from epithet erased. I picture them being close friends because they allways are kinda near eachotther on missions and in fanart. I didn't draw them in any cannon outfit because for Darkstar it's just a hoddie and I find the hoods somewhat difficult to draw and there's so many characters whith hoddies in media's I confuse. I wanted Darkstar to be way under dressed and Spike to look way cooler than him because I have a joke of slandering Darkstar (which I will not elaborate on for the time being) so I took some elements from different subcultures for her outfit but tonned it down a ton so it doesn't necessarily look like she's really apart of any kinda? Not sure.Darkstar looks like he's wearing pajamas kinda. Someone really enjoyed these disigns exspicly the skirt and mismatched socks they were very happy about that skirt.

2.

I have a human disign of fresh sans because he's my favorite and the second image is a rough sketch of it. I definitely need to draw a new version whith the mustache because previously he didn't have it.

3.

He's my dungeons and dragons character. Like most of my characters that are modeled affter me he's a ragging asshole. Not that I'm that much of a jerk at all its just more fun to play those charcthers. He originally had a pink boa,but gave him a Shakespeare collar instead.

4.

Steve martin as orin scrivello In little shop of horrors (the 80s one) I did not make his nose sharp enough or his jacket correct.

5.

Jack fain from bendy and the ink machine humanized.granted he should be much older but I decided anyone who wheres that hat everyday does not deserve to live past the age of 30,so he's about 25 in my interpretation.his nose ended up being hooked because I thought it looked super nice on him,Aldo I really like drawing hooked noses and could use the practice due to not having the best skills in general.im just starting to learn to draw hats so it looks slightly wonky. I made his outfit bright and colorful because frankly all the otther studio workers were boring be whith their sad bage baby colors(and yellow) they all just ended up blending in together even sammy lawernce who is my favorite and usually I try to make my favorites stand out more ended up looking bland. But there was no need to fix what wasn't broken considering it was perfect for that time period. But I needed a pop of color that's where jack comes in. If he's gonna wear that hat everyday he's more likely to wear fun colors and such. Probably not accurate to the time but I don't care,I gave sammy a nose ring I'm not to worried about being realistic.

Hi anon! Sorry this took a bit longer. I started to reply and then tumblr ate it and then the rest of that day and yesterday were not effective-communication days LMAO bees in the head...

3. What ideas come from when you were little

So I used to get in trouble for drawing gay smooching and gnc folks pretty often between 10 and 15 years old and then I just stopped showing people what I was drawing LOL But that's definitely an 'idea' that came from when I was little.

(Does anyone else remember that scanner software where you could colour on an image you'd just scanned into your computer with your mouse? circa 2002ish?)

Though I believe as human beings we are capable of change, and making very radically different changes... this hasn't changed at all for me LOL Also I guess a fascination with angels but I'll blame that on the baptism.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

It used to be most of it but I'm definitely weaning that down for illustrations that depict my own intellectual property. I like to share things that I like with other people so it's difficult.

However, I've had correspondences with Tumblr's @support that have been less than reassuring as far as their willingness and/or ability (it wasn't explained to me) to help independant artists protect their work from being profited off by thieving spamdexxing sites like tumgir and other tumblr knockoffs. They were readier to look at and remove my own work from this platform than shake their fist at sites that steal the content hereon. I fully intend on publishing original work sometime in this lifetime, so it's important to me to take steps that protect my rights as a creator.

Nobody else is gonna do that for me. I checked. And my own resources are just too slim for that either. Though in Canada my intellectual property rights are theoretically ineffable, in practice that's not the case.

If that means I have to hold my cards close to my vest until a time comes where I can publish my work, I'll do my best to do that.

That said that's all for my own IPs. When it comes to things I don't hold the rights to, those get thrown up, and will continue to be uploaded, about 95% of the time! :D I have more content for fics that haven't gone up than fanart haha TBH the other 5% there is just wips that I don't feel are ready to go up yet. But if I give up I usually upload them anyway LMAO

I think this one has been up before but it took a long time to get up because there's a lot of work that needs to be done here rofl And Aiura deserves that uwu

I just had the absolute weirdest shit happen in the Sims 3??? It has never happened before??? I have the Master Controller mod as well as a few others for minor things, so maybe that caused it???

I adopted a child. A girl toddler. I named her something the game would never choose (Sonic Hedgeho). My dude was teaching the girl to walk, but then he got a goal to teach a different baby to walk? A boy this time? I accidentally clicked for it to go away so I didn't see any major details besides the fact that it was a totally different baby.

I left my daughter downstairs to play, and went upstairs to work, but my dude had a negative moodlet from a crying baby??? I have needs static, so I knew it wasn't my daughter. Then the icon popped up of the same mystery baby as before????

So I checked his relationships and the mystery baby was there with the same name as my daughter???? But he wasn't listed as my son! He was just an acquaintance. Also, he didn't live with me! He wasn't even in my town at all???

I ended up feeling super bad for this poor, apparently crying ghost baby, so I cheated to add him to my household, and he was wearing the same clothes as my daughter, and spawned in my house in the same place she'd been before I told her to go play???

Anyway. I'm attached to him now, so I downloaded another mod that will allow me to change my family tree so he's my son, and I'm gonna come up with a new name for him. Maybe Knuckles Echidna.

Oh Tumblr is an amazing place when find your people. Sometimes it takes a while but I'll bet you'll make lots of wonderful friends. I have and I can't imagine not having them in my life to talk to.

I don't write sadly. I have never been blessed with the creative gene but I love to read. That's fantastic that you want to write a novel eventually and what a smart idea to start with fic! I will be sure to read yours when time allows.

And this is auch a fun idea and a great way to get to know others. The holidays can be so hectic so it's nice to have one small thing that is just about bringing joy to someone else.

Have you been on tumblr long? I'll admit, I have a bit of a social media phobia 😅 so I kinda surprised myself when I started this thing. Thought doing this secret santa would be a good way to come of my social media shell 😊.

Yeah, I thought it would be good practice to try to write a mulit-chapter fic before attempting the other idea I had 😂. For all I know, I could be a horrid writer 😅. I got an image of a scene in my head when listening to the song Rearviewmirror by Pearl Jam and just kinda started writing a story around that. It was originally with all OCs, but then I rewrote it as fanfiction to post. Wasn't originally gonna post it, but I figured that would be good practice too haha. I actually haven't even gotten to the original chapters I wrote in the story yet...

Oh and don't feel obligated to read my fic at all! I love readers and feedback, but don't feel like you have to read it ❤.

The idea I have for the novel... I guess I would say it's more in the fantasy genre, with some romance in it. I've written down alot of ideas for it, characters, general plot, etc, but I havent started writing it yet. Fantasy is my favorite genre to read (my fic is not that genre though). What is your favorite genre to read?

Well, I like reading, playing video games when there's time. I have an art degree and recently got a job teaching. My areas are drawing and painting. What are some of your hobbies?

Where did golden gypsy come from? Of course you can ask! But, its not really anything too creative I'm afraid haha. Golden is a reference to type of dog I have. Gypsy is from the Fleetwood Mac song (they're one of my favorite bands).

Yes, the holidays can be so busy, but I love it. Do you have alot of shopping you do for the holidays? I'm not done with mine yet, but I hope to finish next weekend.

Fanfic Update (and Ramblings)

So the day has come where I have finally completed my first draft.

I said I would get it done because the story haunted me and because I had learned that I am a writer in my heart and that I love these characters enough to embarrass myself with potentially boring/odd plots and so forth.

And now I can finally say that I have done it. My first draft, from what was originally supposed to be a one-shot has expanded to a 60-page monstrosity. I designed the outline into 15 parts specifically to help me tackle my pacing problem (I tend to rush the endings).

And for every section I wrote, for every part I didn't rush, it grew . . . into something that I wasn't expecting.

I procrastinated the hardships of writing for more than a decade now; I joined the fandom and Fanfiction when I was at the tender age of 12. And like any kids that age, my stories (that are still up and published) I feel lack real substance and the writing patterns aren't to my liking, not to mention they didn't garner much attention. I admit this hurt my pride and as a result, I shied away but now -

Writing this first draft, which is the equivalent of barfing on paper, even with all its flaws of which there are many, I feel more confident and joyful than I did then with any of my more polished works.

I understand now the purpose of writing ugly. I understand the point of writing the dreaded first draft. It's a damn coming unclogged for better ideas to flow. It tests different methods until you find or Frankenstein your own method. I can only imagine how the editing process will go, and I'm equal parts excited to start and fearful.

In my outline and in my mind I had an idea of how the story was going to go, but writing it I trusted my instants to lead me and some courses naturally went astray to someplace better. Others are half-baked, but the ideas are rising nonetheless.

I really expected this story to be no longer than 20 pages, and I still expect that as I edit in my 2nd and 3rd drafts for the pages to shrink. I know now that it will be divided up into a 3 chapter arc. Maybe it will be a stand-alone or maybe the opening chapters for my Drabble Sweettooth Series ( oh yes I have a list of stories for these dorks to come).

God, I have barely said anything about the actual fic.

Well, the fic is now currently in what I call its resting period. I have read over other fics I attempted to write in the past and looking back I see the flaws and potential of them all and I doubt I would have, had I not stepped away. So, right now it's gonna rest for a few weeks before I tackle the 2nd draft, where I will attempt to connect the dots and make the story more clever than it actually is.

But, never fear, I will spend this time improving my understanding of quality writing and, most feverishly, practicing my art. It's been far too long since I really sat down and learned how to draw again, and I miss it. I really, really do, about as much as I miss the decade I wasted not writing.

Because there is much fanart I would like to draw of them too, and many other OTPs of mine (tianaxnaveeen from Princess and the Frog to name one, they are criminally underrated) and I will not have anything but the best for my lovelies.

I plan to draw some character designs to support this fic of mine, and as I improve move on to concept art and even comics. They need more art of them as well! Besides, it about time I learned how to draw men and animals.

I'm excited YAY. Months of writing and my heart is light in knowing that I'm doing what writers do - bleeding at the type writer.
