I’m not huge on radiostatic and haven’t thought about the dynamic as much as other people so probably I’ll be retreading common ground

radiostatic friendship had to have broken up for smth more ideological, it would honestly be a bit boring/disappointing if it was just over the unrequited romance aspect (but it was likely a contributing factor)

the fact that vox asked alastor to join his team gives a few clues

I think atp vox still thought positively of alastor while alastor’s opinion of vox was starting to deteriorate. Vox respected alastor enough to *ask* him to join, rather than manipulate or try to force him

if that’s the case, then whatever vox did that alastor hated likely wasn’t malicious (but knowing vox, it was still a bad/harmful thing)

it seems like the kind of situation where alastor showed discomfort and vox refused to change and didn’t understand what he was so mad about

what could vox have done that alastor disliked so much that it ruined a previously good friendship?

using people? Alastor does that

owning souls? Alastor does that

killing people? Alastor does that

associating with and enabling ppl like val? Maybe? It seems like an arbitrary line to draw, altho one of the comics shows alastor killing an attempted rapist

influencing people’s perception of them through media? Alastor does that, but maybe it was the difference of method that he didn’t like (hypnosis vs charisma)

He hates when people let their composure slip and tries to exploit any weakness he sees. Maybe it disgusted him to see someone he thought was strong actually prove to be weak, insecure, and pathetic

a combination of the last three seems the most plausible to me (especially considering what things alastor disses vox for in stayed gone), but I’m still struggling to come up with something that has the right amount of “oomph” to it

-unlike his brother Colin, he is fully aware of what he’s doing and he doesn’t care. He has an “eye on the prize” mentality and has no intention of straying from his goal (you).In a way this is all a game to him, and he has no plans of losing.

-Anthony is controlling/ intense. He desires nothing more for you to be his, and only his. He is not afraid to fight when it comes to you, and will gladly knock a man out for even looking at you. Intimidation tactics are common. Expect to see Anthony randomly showing up at your home or anywhere else you might be. Wether you like him or not he wants everyone to believe the two of you are together. He’s the first one to come up to you at a ball and he makes sure he’s the only one. He doesn’t care if you say no. On top of being controlling he can also be jealous, so expect to be pressed with questions like, “who were you with?!” “What is his name?!” “Do you honestly think he can provide better than me?”

-he has no problem taking full advantage as his role as “viscount” when it comes to you (and your family). He’ll use his influence to gain your family’s favor and your hand. Although meeting through friendship is possible, your mostly likely to catch his eye at a ball than anything. Like his brother the marriage will be swift. Everyone in the ton will be invited to witness your union wether you like it or not. He knows that you don’t hold the same affection for him, so he hopes the tons presence will keep you in check.

-once the two of you are married he doesn’t tolerate any kind of outburst, especially near his family. He cares deeply about them, and the thought of you speaking ill of him or your relationship fills him with rage. So he’ll make a point to be by your side until he can fully trust you. Family participation is a must, especially when it comes to family games. He wants you by his side and happy, but if you can’t be he’s willing to force it.

-if you manage to tell your in-laws about Anthony’s extreme behavior or beg them to help you get out of the marriage, there’s little chance you’ll get the help that you want. Anthony will be quick to take hold of the situation and reassure them that there’s nothing wrong then punish you accordingly. Like his brother he doesn’t like to see you in pain, but he’s not afraid to inflict it.

-like his brother he wants a lot of kids and he expects you to feel the same. If you don’t he’ll just say, “you don’t actually feel that way my love. You’ll come around eventually.” Again family is important to him, so you will eventually have children wether you like it or not.

-Anthony at times can have a short temper, especially when you push him away. He’ll yell and scream demanding “why you don’t love him”. After his outburst and if your upset he’ll be quick to comfort you and apologize, “I’m sorry.. I never mean to upset you.” He can have his tender moments.

-like the rest of his family divorce is not an option and bringing it up will only lead to more problems for you. Same goes for attempting to leave him. He doesn’t know what to do with himself or you at that point, and his desperation will only lead to fueling his obsession with you.

-he’s your husband and you’re his wife. It doesn’t matter how much you fight him or deny his affection that fact will remain. “Wether you acknowledge it or not, your are only for my eyes to witness. So there’s no use in fighting what’s already been vowed.”

and you know, here's a fun fact i've noticed a lot about people from iran and iraq specifically - the majority of my iranian friends prefer to introduce themselves as "persian" before they say "iranian" - it's kind of funny - and my dad, who's iraqi, much prefers to introduce himself as "babylonian" rather than iraqi - i think it's so interesting to see - that they're not eager to claim the nationality that has been carved out for them by the modern day division of the middle east (as per the sykes–picot partition imposed by the british), but are so proud to proclaim their heritage based on the greater history of their regions and their people. i think it's interesting, i think it's interesting. maybe i should start introducing myself as babylonian, like my dad. sumerian, actually, i think. i've always been so interested in sumerian culture specifically,, (it was one of my special interests, at a time!) and i've done so many research and art projects based in that history... ough. i should get back into it, maybe.

bought like actual skincare products for the first time in years and have some notes.

the whole anti-aging cosmetic industry is really hard to avoid. i was getting stuff at a marshall’s (discount store, carries a lot of overstock from brands) to save money and it took me almost an hour to find a handful of products that weren’t advertising “anti-aging” and “youthfulness” when i just wanted a cleanser, toner, and sunscreen to help with both peeling skin and greasiness

no seriously. i found ONE facial sunscreen that didn’t have retinol or hyaluronic acid or collagen or any of that stuff in it. it was tucked away in the men’s section with beard oil and cologne because apparently facial sunscreen with no added bullshit is only for men, and women (this is borderline a fast fashion store it’s highly gendered) can only protect themselves from skin cancer if it also makes sure they never develop a smile line

so many of those serums and creams and shit are bullshit anyway. hell a lot of people can just do a wash and sunscreen and be all set. at most a basic cleanser, basic moisturizer, and sunscreen are the absolute most you need. i threw in an exfoliating toner to help even out a couple gnarly acne scars and help with how flaky my skin gets sometimes. if your skin needs more than that, you really should probably just go to a dermatologist or look for actual dermatologist’s advice instead of dumping a bunch of random oils and serums and creams n shit you saw on tiktok or instagram on your skin and hoping the benefits listed on the box will be true for you

IN MOST CASES no amount of skincare products can make up for lifestyle change. i decided to put a little more work in because the lifestyle changes i need to make to help be less oily (i literally get so greasy it makes my eyes burn) and flaky aren’t currently feasible, so i’m trying to give my skin a bit of a boost, but literally the best my skin has ever felt was when i was just drinking a shit ton of water and eating super well

other people’s skincare will rarely work the same on anyone else. everyone’s skin needs are different. when i was in high school i had a gnarly abrasion/chemical burn under my eye because i had tried a routine i saw online that was way too rough and overbearing for me. again, you 100% don’t need a 30 step routine

that being said, i used a $4 korean cleanser, a $6 glycolic acid toner (exfoliant), 100% pure african shea butter, and some sunscreen formulated for use on the face. my skin feels great. my acne doesn’t itch as much. the toner was the most expensive part. the beauty industry is a scam

We know I’m a huge Style Girlie, and I’ve said before that this fic is the one that introduced me to Cryle as a ship. And I love both this Kyle and this Craig, but the destruction of long term relationships in this story is HEARTBREAKING!!! The nuance of Creek (Tweek’s character in general holy shit), the crumbling of Style and the broken trust that they try to make work after the fact, just GOD!!!

I love the slow wedge jwink drives between Stan and Kyle. The sweetness of their relationship beginning to unravel due to lost faith in each other, secrets, the emotional turmoil, the GUILT?!?

Kyle in the beginning of this story really spoke to me too. I stumbled across this fic for the first time when I was extremely depressed, never leaving my apartment, and throughout the past couple months of that phase of my life I’ve read it multiple times, seen myself in him. His melancholy throughout is so tangible dude, like I know I read a SHIT TON and this remains one of my favorite sp fics, even though my favorite pairing isn’t endgame lol

I'm not entirely sure how the subject had come up, but a while ago a cis lesbian friend of mine and I were discussing whether we might date or have sex with a trans woman.

For a little bit of context, this friend is South Asian, and she said she really didn't understand westerner's obsession with genitalia. To her, all genitals were really just body parts. She didn't see them as anything inherently gendered, or inherently sexual. They were just something that would be attached to a person she liked. It wasn't having sex involving a penis that felt wrong to her, it was the thought of dating or having sex with someone who perceived themself as a man.

I found that a really interesting perspective on the whole "genital preference" discussion. Genitals matter to some people and that's okay, but they also don't matter to some people and that's also okay.

As a disclaimer, no lesbian or anyone of any sexuality should be forced to have any sex they do not want to have. If a trans woman asks to have sex and you say no, you said no and that is okay and should be respected. If anyone of any gender asks to have sex and you say no, you said no and that is okay and should be respected. This is simply a consideration of people who might say yes and why they might do so, which is also okay and should be respected.

If you don't respect someone who has sex in a way you view as contradicting their sexuality, especially if this is due to a difference in your cultural perspectives on sex and genitalia, that's shitty.
