Hello! Thank you, I hope this is enjoyable as well! I went with a more fluffy route this time, I just wanna see Gaz happy and healthy and as far aways from any and all danger as possible! This request was really cute, I love Gaz! I'm glad there are several of us who do! Though I think I went a bit overboard with this, but how could I not when people are requesting best boi!

Celebrating Your Anniversary with Gaz

For the sake of this request, we’re gonna go with the idea that Gaz was able to be with you during your anniversary and didn’t end up being somewhere in the world, having to fight tooth and nail for his survival. We’re gonna go the fluffy route with this!

His memory is really good, Gaz would never forget something as important as your anniversary. Doesn’t matter if you’re together, doesn’t matter if you’re married. He has it memorized, he wrote it down on his phone, he noted it on several loose papers lying around just about anywhere. Trust me when I say he’s the last person to ever forget something like this. Although he would appreciate it if you remembered as well, he’d probably love it even more if, just once, you forgot about your anniversary, that way he could properly surprise and absolutely spoil you rotten. He wants to make your anniversaries days you can remember, so he will tailor them to your liking. You like going to arcades or amusement parks? A bookshop date? You just wanna go to McDonald’s? It’s all yours, and don’t you dare even think about paying, your wallet will not be strained on such a holy and sublime day.

The day would start off simple. You’d sleep in, if you can, cuddling for as long as possible, until one of you needs to get up for whatever reason. He’ll nuzzle into you, holding you as close to him as possible. He wants you to feel his warmth, how alive you make him feel, he wants you to feel how his heart beats for you and only you. Gaz has a beautiful voice, it’s fairly low and very calming to listen to. He’d hum your favorite tune that’s a bit calmer. He wants you to be as relaxed for him as possible, maybe even fall asleep in his arms again, even if he definitely wouldn’t mind you staying up to chat a bit with him as well. He’s gonna be all over you, making sure to touch you wherever he can so you feel secure with him. And when you’re drifting off to sleep again, that’s when his plan begins.

Gaz will plant a kiss on your neck or your forehead, whatever he can reach as he excuses himself to the bathroom. However, this sly dog will actually head for the kitchen to make you some breakfast. He’s a good cook, so whatever it is you like, he’ll make it. French toast? Scrambled eggs? Eggs and bacon? Your wish is his command, even if you never uttered a single order. He just hopes you won’t wake up or, even if you do, will at the very least stay in bed. This breakfast isn’t for you to enjoy in the kitchen or the living room, you’re to eat it in your bed. He even got you a nice tray so he can carry it to you without making a mess. Orange juice and all. You will be spoiled.

It’s then that he’ll wake you with another soft kiss to your temple, maybe shaking you awake a bit, so you can enjoy your breakfast together. Might even feed you a bit, just to be embarrassingly cute while he’s at it. The more content you look, the better. Afterwards, he’ll leave for the kitchen again, putting the tray away and decorating the living room a bit. There will be the most gorgeous roses you’ve ever seen in a vase, alongside several other flowers, each of which tells of a different kind of adoration. And when you finally follow suit and spot the flowers, he’ll just smile and claim that they looked very pretty. If you understand flower language, then you can tell he just really wanted to say he loved you in as many different ways as he could.

It’s then that he’ll ask you to get ready for the day, to brush your teeth and hair, and put on some clothes. You don’t need to look particularly fancy, he wants you to be as comfortable as you could possibly be. This is when he’ll take you to a place you like which, as mentioned before, could be just about anything. Waterpark, roller skate rink or just a lovely walk in the park, he’s open for everything. You will be accommodated accordingly. Those places are where you’ll be spending the majority of your day, grabbing something simple to eat for the time being, such as some fries or maybe some toast at a good cafe or pub.

When day meets night, he’ll take your hand in his, taking you to a fancy restaurant you’ve been to a few times. Preferably one where the both of you can look down at the city and see all the beautiful lights it has to offer. You’ll spend another two hours or so there. At the very least, you’ll be there until it gets dark, eating good food, having a good drink, maybe some wine as well. It doesn’t matter what you choose, all Gaz wants is to see the twinkling city lights dance in your eyes afterwards. When the evening is starting to roll over into night, he’ll take you to a ferris wheel. A big one where you can see the entire city from.

He’ll watch you as you excitedly look everywhere, taking in as many sights as you can, hoping that the ferris wheel stops at just the right time. Ideally, that would be right at the top. But he won’t be too picky if it’s somewhat to the side as well. As long as he gets to see your mouth agape at all the pretty lights, he’s content. While the ferris wheel stops, he’ll shoot his shot. If you’ve been together for a few years but aren’t married yet, he’ll propose to you. If you’re already married, he’ll still get down on one knee, take your hand in his and kiss its back tenderly, like a knight in shining armor. It’s embarrassingly sweet, but he knows no one but you is going to see it, so he does it anyway. You’re royalty in his eyes, you’re his to protect and care for, and he needs to show his loyalty however he can. Once he’s done kissing your hand, he’ll get up, holding your hand still and pulling you up with him, just so he can hold you close once again. Another tender kiss to your lips, and then he’ll get out a small box. Either the proposal ring or, if you’re married already, he’ll gift you a lovely little necklace made of pure silver. Something you can wear that will always remind you of him.

Once you’re down on the ground again, he’ll take your hand in his and lead you home, conversing with you about how much he loves you, how happy he is to have you in his life and how he hopes he gets to spend many, many more years like that with you.

If it’s not too late yet, you might watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. But you’ll likely both be tuckered out after today and just snuggle up in bed, ready for the next day.

And this is how Gaz’ ideal anniversary would go.

been reflecting on my year a bit, and i was thinking about something. i think i know what the best thing i did for myself this year was.

making cometcare public. making the ask blog.

ive had this AU stirring in my brain since 2019, ever since i got really attached to doomi during the haunted arc. one reason i went so long without revealing pollarrydoomi as a ship to readers was because doom's crush wasn't public information until late 2021.

i had kept his crush a mystery for 3 years, but revealed it after a fun experience where people figured out who it was through guessing. i'm pretty sure i did a poll about it? asking people to guess who they thought it was, and uni won the vote, meaning everyone had already figured it out.

after pollarrydoomi was revealed and i started drawing art for it and people made fanart for it, i still couldn't post any of my AU art because ally wasn't public and she and howie were in the AU. in july 2022, for the comic's birthday, i revealed ally as a character to the readers. others around the time had started to notice characters i had in pfps and i ended up telling everyone i did have pollarrydoomi ship kids, but i didn't make them public.

in november 2022, i revealed eve on toyhouse. after her reveal, i would soon reveal sly as well in december 2022 on my birthday (revealing sly as a birthday present to myself is such a funny gesture now that you guys know how important he is to me). over the next few weeks i revealed cream, frosty, and marco as well. all of the main cometkids except chem.

then one day someone out there suggested that i make an ask blog for the cometcare AU. it was such a spontaneous decision, and i didn't even really know what i was gonna do with it at first. i was just kinda messing around. but when i made the blog i realized that if i wanted this AU to be experienced in complete authenticity, i couldn't make uni cis.

so i revealed uni being trans through the blog, despite the fact i'd gone so many years without ever revealing her identity. why did i do it? there's a lot of reasons. not wanting to make her a "dad" in the AU contributed, but also i felt like it wouldn't be detrimental to the story to confirm a character being trans. it also made me (and the crew in general) a lot more comfortable being able to properly refer to uni with her actual pronouns.

making the ask blog really changed me, because finally i could share this little family and comfort story i'd built in my brain with the world and make it real and make content for it and let people consume it.

but what stopped me most of all?

i've said it many times before... but i felt like it was cringey.

i felt like making an AU with 93985893844 fankids in a ridiculous complicated polycule wasn't something a Serious content creator should do, and i was really worried the reception would be negative or people would think it was stupid or something. i did NOT expect it to become as popular as it is. the blog actually has more followers than the MAIN ASK BLOG for the canon comic. it was received SO POSITIVELY and the fact it was just kind of blows me away.

it means so much to me. being able to share the most special thing in my life with people and for people to actually like it and have fun with me and want to see it, and for me to be able to not have to follow strict professionalism about spoilers and chronological storytelling, and being able to change and add in things whenever i felt like it. it's such a freeing experience.

when i was a kid, i used to make stories and OCs and i didn't take them as seriously as i do the sparklecare reboot. this kind of turned into my entire life and career kinda, so i had to take it more seriously. but making this AU honestly just makes me feel like i'm a kid again, it makes me feel like i can have fun and literally do whatever the fuck i want without worrying what people think or if it's realistic or if it makes any sense.

i know though, that some people don't like pollarrydoomi. and i know why. whether it's because of being attached to barruni (of course, they're the canon ship and main characters, i get it) or just having discomfort with the idea of shipping doom with anyone when canonically he hasn't experienced a redemption arc... i get it. i know not everyone likes it.

and that's okay! people are entitled to having their own feelings about content. i understand it. and i've come to accept that's always going to be the case with anything i do with these characters.

but i'm still going to do this for myself. i do this because it makes me happy to just have fun and not worry about being serious all the time. it feels good, especially when it's with characters that are really really important to me.

cometcare is genuinely the most special and important thing i've ever made for myself, it's such a huge piece of my identity and it makes me who i am. and being able to make this story public and share it with people and share these things that have been in my brain for so long with others means so much to me.

that's why i think it was the best thing i've done this year. it's kind of literally changed my life to be able to talk about them. it's made me happier than i've ever been making content. i'm not just making it to entertain myself alone anymore, i'm making it to entertain others like i do with other stuff. and the fact people actually like it still is unbelievable to me.

so, i guess my outlook for next year as it comes is to continue to stop taking everything so seriously. i can tell my stories however i want to. i hope others can realize they can do this too.

please make whatever you want, whenever you what, as much as you want, even if it doesn't make sense or if it's "cringe". you will be so much happier when you realize as a creator you DON'T have to take all of this so seriously. the comic still exists and people read it even if i'm doing this. You Can Do Whatever You Want And Nobody Can Ever Stop You. the only person who can stop you is yourself when you let your inhibitions get in the way of your ability to create things for yourself.

Meet and Greet (Reboot Wally x reader)

The convention center was vibrant as ever. People in costumes, food stalls, art booths and even meet and greets. My eyes got lost in all the banners advertising the meet ups for different celebrities, artists, and creators, while my smile grew wider as I recognized a few names that I didn't see last time I checked the schedules. I felt an aggressive pull on my hand dragging me back to reality. My smile faded as I saw the annoyed look on his face.

If he's going to have an attitude all day why did he join me. I fought back the urge to roll my eyes and continued forward. "This is amazing! So many of my favorite creators are here!" I looked up at my boyfriend hoping to rub off some of my excitement on him.

He just looked down at me and shrugged, his face remaining annoyed. I released a heavy sigh and pulled my hand away from his. "I think I'm going to explore on my own. We can meet back up in a couple hours," I held up my phone while walking away. "Just text me, when you're ready."

I spent the next hour perusing the aisles of all the different booths. There were so many ideas in one spot it would take me the entire week to go through everything. Even with that much time I still have doubts that I'd get through all of it. I felt a vibration in my pocket and took out my phone. I had 3 missed calls and 17 messages. I didn't hold back the eye roll and set my phone to 'Do Not Disturb' after sending a message of where I was.

The crowd for this Meet and Greet was insane. There were girls screaming, some crying, all were hourding the lines to the booth. My curiosity got the best of me as I joined the line wanting to see what all this commotion was about.

To my surprise the line was moving smoothly. It didn't take long until I could read the banner that said Welcome Home, each letter having it's own color. The name sounded familiar, I remember reading about a reboot of it happening a little while back. I recalled babysitting for my boyfriend's siblings and how they'd beg for me to put this show on. I racked my brain to remember any specific episode but nothing was coming to mind.

"NEXT" the loud voice shook me to my core. My thought bubble was abruptly popped as I stumbled to move forward. I looked at the security guard as he ushered me to go past the velvet rope he had undone. I felt panic erupt inside me. When did I get to the front? Who am I even meeting? I don't have anything for them to sign.

I tried to calm myself down with deep breathes as I moved closer to the table. My calming methods were immediately ruined as I looked at the man at the booth. I felt blush warm up my cheeks. He was devishly handsome, I couldn't blame the girls I saw earlier. He had messy blue hair, that had been done up in an old hair style. His rsmile was sweet but his eyes…those are a different story. For some reason I felt as if he was looking directly through me, reading my thoughts, trying to uncover my soul. It sent a cold shiver down my spine.

I laughed off my nervousness and tried to avoid his eyes. He cleared his throat and spoke.

"Hello neighbor! Thank you for coming to the meet and greet! Do you have something for me to sign?" He sounded tired. His delivery was perfect almost as if he just started the day and his energy was at it's peak, but I could feel the exhaustion behind it.

"You look tired."

"Excuse me?"

My eyes widen at my mistake, I felt my face flush and grow warm. I wanted to rip out my voice box and stomp on it so I could never speak again. Instead the word vomit began.

"I'm sorry, I was just thinking and a thought slipped through. You look wonderful, not exhausted. Very handsome. Just great, perfection even. Oh you have pictures, can I have one?" I picked one of the photos off the table, and handed it to him. He signed it quickly before giving me a smile bright enough to grow flowers. "I hope your day is going well…Wally."

He chuckled before responding. "Of course it is, I get to meet all my wonderful supporters and fans." He held out his hand for me to shake and I did so.

"Well, to be honest. I've never actually watched your show."

"Oh?" Wally stopped moving his hand and looked at me with confusion. I felt my hands start to get clammy. I tried to gently pull my hand away but Wally held it firmly.

"B-but I am definitely a fan and will be binge watching it as soon as I get home. Thank you for time!" I finished shaking his hand and waved before leaving the booth. I wanted to die from embarrassment. Why did I even go up there? I've never even sat down and watched his show in it's entiretity. I ran a hand through my hair to calm my never ending thoughts. I looked at the picture of himself that he signed.

"Show me your smile" - Wally Darling

His signature was perfection, I wouldn't believe he didn't just copy and paste it 1000 times over if I didn't see him sign it right in front of me. Did I smile at all when I went up there or did I just stand there like a fool? Wait. Why did I care? I have a boyfriend. Oh shit I have a boyfriend. I pulled out my phone, over 30 missed calls. I immediately called him back. He picked up on the first ring, and started yelling at me through the speakers, why didn't I answer him, why was I ignoring him, blah blah blah. I held my heavy sigh back and told him where I was. He responded by hanging up the phone. I looked at the ended call for moment before putting it back in my pocket, I guess that means he was coming to me.

There was more fangirling happening, as a bunch of girls started forming a circle around who I can only assume to be Wally. I looked over there and he appeared to be singing and dancing to Shakira. I almost burst out into laughter, at how good it was. Guess there's a pretty good reason why he's on television. It was a cute sight. I sighed and looked at my autographed photo again. Wally Darling. Show you my smile? I looked up from my picture to see where he had gone, and found him in the middle of a crowd. I looked at the picture again before looking back up. To my surprise, he was already looking at me. His eyes were half lidded and as piercing as ever. The cold shiver came back as he looked at me. At least I thought he was. Without realising I followed the command on my autograph and gave him a smile, or his general direction at least.

I shook my head at my delusions and began to walk away to find my boyfriend. At least I can say I met THE Wally Darling. I see my boyfriend hanging around the booth selling drinks when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and see Mr. Darling himself standing before me. I gave him a wave and a confused look.

"Uh hi? Did your meet and greet end?"

"No, but I forgot to add something to your autograph. Couldn't let you get away without it."

"Oh. I didn't realise." I handed him back the photo trying not to linger on the idea of our fingers brushing against each other. I watch as he quickly scribbles something in one of the corners. He doesn't hand the photo back and instead he gives me a sly grin.

"So are you single? Did you come here by yourself?" He looks at me with those same piercing eyes. I wanted to say yes really badly. Which is awful. I mentally slapped myself to restart my thinking process. It took me a moment to answer but by the time I could string together a sentence, my boyfriend had already found me. He put a hand on my shoulder and tried to look as intimidating as possible. I rolled my eyes and shrugged his hand off my shoulder. I looked at Wally with an apologetic smile.

"No, I'm not."

Wally didn't respond, his gaze was on my boyfriend. It felt sinister like he was trying to kill him with a look. I mentally laughed at the idea. I'm just overthinking things. I nudged my boyfriend in the side, so he would stop this dick sizing contest. Wally finally tore his gaze from my boyfriend and looked at me with a smile. He handed me my photo, it had one of the corners folded in. He gave me a quick wink before turning on his heel and heading back to his booth. I turned around and noticed my boyfriend had went back to the drinking booth. I started to walk over to him, and unfolded the corner of my autograph. My internal thermometer broke as I saw the 10 digit number followed by xo. I folded the entire photo and put it into my pocket.

"That was some meet and greet."

5. The fifth time, it was an impulse.

"Taylor, truth or dare?" Scary asks, kicking her feet up on the couch's armrest.

This is the first time Taylor hosts a group sleepover, and somehow they've ended up in the living room playing this game.

"Mm," Taylor lifts his head up from Link's shoulder, cracking his eyes open. "Dare."

She raises her eyebrows and says, "Seven minutes in heaven with Link."

"Alright," Taylor grabs his cane and starts to stand.

"Wait, what's that?" Link asks, helping Taylor up.

Taylor begins to guide Link to the hallway with a hand on his shoulder.

"You'll see."

The others follow Taylor and Link into Taylor's room, where he unveils his closet. It's quite small, but fairly empty.

"Alright, I'm setting a timer," Scary says.

"Taylor, what are we doing?" Link asks again, a little more desperation in his voice.

"We go and stand in a closet for seven minutes. It's easy peasy."

"Just, like, stand in there?"

"Well, we can sit too."

"O—okay," Link scratches the back of his neck and looks quizzically at Scary. 

All she does is roll her eyes.

Taylor holds the door open and gestures for Link to enter. "After you."

"Yeah, okay."

Link steps inside, followed by Taylor, and Scary shuts the door.

"I'm setting a timer. Be back in seven."

Taylor assumes they're walking back to the living room when he hears the chatter fading away, and he assesses his surroundings. Well, there isn't much to assess since this is his closet, but there's a new addition, if one could call it that.

"Dark, huh?" Link says, standing in front of him.

It's not that dark. Not to Taylor. Over the past little while, he'd been getting better at seeing in the dark. At first he thought it was just his dedication to survival tactics, but after learning about his demonic family history… things started to make a bit more sense. A little disappointing, but simultaneously pretty killer.

"I guess," he says.

The closet and Link are painted in slightly greenish, yellowish hues. It's a little like a camera filter, but no camera Taylor's owned has had definition as high as this. Each and every detail of Link is clear to the eye, and Taylor runs his gaze up and down Link just to admire the effectiveness of his night vision.

Link is looking at him weirdly—no, not weirdly… more like… in awe? Towering over him a little, and gazing directly into his eyes, not shying away like he usually does.

This'll be an easy seven minutes. They're best friends, and they already spend so much time together—this is no different.

"Maybe to pass the time you can ramble to me about something," Link suggests.

Taylor smiles wide. "Really?"

"Yeah. You know I like listening."

You know I like listening… Taylor's brain takes a moment to reboot after hearing Link's soft and gentle voice remind him that he likes to hear Taylor's endless rambles.

"Okay. Mm, I've been watching more demon-related anime lately, 'cause, you know, I can relate. To an extent!"

"Mhm," Link nods, and oh, the engaged look in his eyes, and the way he tilts his head forward to listen, and the slight smile on his face…

"'Cause… 'cause like, I think I've started to notice… uh…" a flustered chuckle escapes him.

"You good there?"

"Yeah—" he clears his throat. "I've started noticing, like, cool demon traits starting to show up, and…"

"I've noticed too."

"You have? "

"Yeah," Link's gaze is more intense now. "Your eyes."

Taylor leans in a little… for Link to get a better look. Yeah.

"...My eyes?" he asks in almost a whisper.

"They're glowing," Link matches Taylor's volume, and hearing him speak so quietly and so close makes Taylor's heart skip a beat. "It's… it looks cool."

Link's eyes aren't glowing, but they might as well be with how mesmerizing they are.

"That is… that is cool."

Link doesn't say anything else for a while, but he doesn't back away, and he doesn't look away. It's like Taylor's eyes are the one thing keeping his focus.

And Taylor keeps staring into Link's eyes. He knows they're brown, but in this lighting they're tinted yellow and every detail is so clear. His pupils are slightly dilated, and the ring of colour around them is only slightly lighter. His eyes could pass for being jet black if Taylor didn't know them well enough. 

The length of Link's eyelashes catches Taylor's attention next. They're long, and when he blinks, and they move with his eyelids, they're so pretty. Taylor runs his gaze along Link's eyelashes, feeling very confidently that he could spend however long doing this in the closet and feel like no time has gone by at all.

Link's eyelashes drop lower—ah, he's looking down.

He's looking down?

…

He's looking at down at Taylor's lips.

Don't bite it, don't bite it, don't bite it—Taylor bites the inside of his mouth instead. The last time this happened and he bit his lip, Link looked away. Taylor didn't want that to happen right now.

Link's lips are tinted too. His upper lip is more greenish, and his lower lip is more yellow.

Night vision makes it very clear, but Taylor wonders how well Link can see. Are his dry and cracked and bloodied lips all too visible? Biting them was a habit he formed long ago, and he never quite broke it. Chapstick is something he always forgets about… but maybe the moisture from Link's lips would do the tri—

"You know—" Link looks back at his eyes, and Taylor is quick to follow. "I've never heard of this game before… I don't really get it."

It takes Taylor a second to process the sentence with how fast he can feel his blood pumping.

"It's… um, yeah," he barely breathes out.

"I mean, we're in a closet. What does this have to do with heaven?"

Seven minutes in heaven is a game Taylor knows. Had he ever played it? No. But he knows it. He knows what people… usually do…

"Yeah, I, uh," he mumbles, gaze flickering from Link's lips to his eyes every few seconds.

"I don't… uh…"

Taylor can't tear his eyes away from Link's lips.

"Mm…"

Taylor can't say anything. He's too wrapped up in his thoughts and his feelings and his desires, and a burning flame inside him that's bound to set this whole closet on fire.

And then Link says something else, considerate, concerned, and protective as ever:

"Taylor? Are you okay?"

Next thing Taylor knows, Link is pinned against the wall with his free hand.

"Whoa," a half-gasp, half-laugh escapes Link and he slides down the wall a little. "Are you okay?"

Link adjusts to sit down, and Taylor isn't sure when, but he dropped his cane, kneeled across Link, and put both hands on his shoulders.

There's some sort of haze that clouds his mind and pulls him in. It's something he's been feeling for a while now, but it's gotten stronger and more restless.

"Yeah," he says breathlessly, leaning in, practically hovering over Link.

The startled expression Link is wearing soon fades, and what's left is an amalgamation of the looks he had earlier, like awe, and… well… whatever look he wore while staring at Taylor's lips, because he's doing that again.

And then Taylor's hands slide their way from Link's shoulders up to the sides of his face, bringing his head forward, and tilting it up a little.

Taylor can feel Link's hands on his back now, pulling him even closer.

"Taylor," Link whispers. It's not a question this time.

Taylor doesn't know how, but they're closer than before, and Link's breathing against him, and he's breathing against Link, and for what is definitely not the first time, Taylor thinks this might actually be happening, but this specific instance makes him really feel like it's true.

Their lips are hardly apart now, but enough for Taylor to speak.

"Can I—"

"Yes."

And enough for Link to desperately cut him off, it seems.

And then they're being pulled together not by gravity, but by each other—well, maybe by gravity, if they're orbiting around each other, and Link's eyes shut, and Taylor is quick to follow, and the heat radiating off Link's lips feels safe and warm on his, and he can feel it getting warmer and closer, and it feels so right , like the stars are finally bound to align and—

"Time's up!"

Scary opens the door.

Taylor jumps off of Link as if he's been burned, and hits his back on the opposite wall of the closet. "Fuck! "

"Holy shit…" Scary gawks.

A rush of cold from the absence of Link overwhelms Taylor, and the sudden pain in his back doesn't make it much better.

"Le—let—let's continue the game guys!" Taylor shouts, stumbling out of the closet to face the witnesses.

Hermie is wide-eyed.

Normal's mouth is agape.

Scary looks like she's holding back a laugh.

And no one moves.

Taylor's legs ache. Shit, he doesn't have his cane.

So he turns back around, and walks back in, and sees Link.

He's in the same position as before, sitting against the wall, with a few fingers hovering over his lips and wide eyes.

Taylor leans against the back wall for support, and while part of him feels extremely awkward about interacting with Link immediately after what could have almost been, Taylor needs to snap him out of it.

"Link?"

"Uh—" he blinks a few times and looks up at Taylor, who immediately averts his gaze. God. "Right," Link stands up and hands Taylor's cane to him—Taylor forgot about that with his eyes too focused on Link himself.

"Tha—thanks."

Taylor's face is on fire.

Oh.

God.

Nothing like it happens in canon, but I can definitely picture her idolising a deeply flawed person or system, and slowly coming to realise their flaws (I guess we could've got something similar with Vic's police brutality, or even with Chris?) while grappling with intense guilt about how she is intertwined with them. The music fits her (cape) aesthetic really well. And "I'm so embarrassed"... god. That's exactly how she'd say it. (Both as in, that's nearly a voiceclaim for when she calls negative emotions embarassment in canon, and as in I think she'd describe her guilt, resentment, hatred, betrayal etc. in this hypothetical as embarassment too.)

can we as a society PLEASE STOP calling the warner siblings "the animaniacs." the animaniacs are the ENTIRE cast. they LITERALLY SING ABOUT IT. HERE IS A CITATION:

A Discussion on Pinky's Sexuality/Gender (Day 3 of Pinky Week)

(Quick Note: Ahhh! Sorry about the delay on this! It's just that I've had a lot on my plate and with that new Pinky and The Brain trailer thing, I've been kind of stressed out. This is mostly because I've been trying to lower my expectations as far as they will go so I won't be disappointed or I'll be blown away. I just don't know what to think. Also, burnout is real. I'm making it all up this week, I promise!)

(Another note: I didn't expect this post to be delayed so much! Oh god! Anyways, the next few days will be a makeup week where I finally finish Pinky Week and get prepared for Brain Week coming up. This was supposed to come out last Wednesday, but I had absolutely no time! Also, I had to do a LOT of re-watching clips and research for this! Way more than I had thought. Sorry!!!)

Hi everyone and welcome to the third day of Pinky Week! For those who are just joining me, here's the gist of what's going on. Since there's going to be a new set of Pinky and The Brain shorts on Friday and Pinky's narfday was last Saturday, I decided to dedicate an entire week to talking about Pinky. Every day, I'll be making a new post about a different aspect of him, discussing things such as his character. I've already made a happy birthday and a more personal story about Pinky so go check those out. Ok, so let's begin today's discussion.

3/22/23 Discussing Pinky's Sexuality/Gender- Listen, most of this will just serve as possible headcanons/theories on events. I personally think that Pinky is pansexual and genderfluid; obviously not everyone will agree with me. This post is just a celebration on the things that I have noticed during the course of the reboot and spin-off series. I'll be tracing his evolution from loyal assistant to best friend to possible love interest for Brain. I will also be talking about how his gender identity transitioned from an interesting little joke to a realistic and admirable portrayal of a character who's not afraid to be himself. I am trying to cover as much ground as possible so let's give it a shot.

Pinky's Sexuality: Pansexual

What Does Being Pansexual Mean?: Pansexual can be defined as a romantic attraction to male, female, and nonbinary people; so basically, you like everyone. While seemingly not as common as being gay or bisexual, pansexual characters have been getting the respect and love they deserve.

Why Does Pinky Embody Pansexuality?: Pinky being pansexual has been tossed around as a kind of fan theory for a few years. Some people think that he's bisexual (like Brain) and some think he's just straight up gay (read below section for further information). However, I fall under the group that says he's pansexual because it fits his character the best. Pinky is the kind of mouse who would love just about everyone, no matter their gender or species. His kindness for anyone knows no bounds and though his heart gets constantly broken, he always gets back up again. Pinky is always determined to support Brain in everything he does, no matter how upset his friend makes him. His unbridled affection for Brain is honestly a pretty big giveaway to Pinky not being straight in the slightest.

Could Pinky be Just Gay?: This really depends on the person you ask. If you were a new fan of the series, only starting to watch during season 3 of the reboot, then yeah. Pinky is basically gay in those final ten episodes with him never mentioning a female love interest for the first time (I think) ever. It's insane. Also, he hints at his attraction to Brain in several ways such as dressing up alongside him in feminine clothing (he didn't have to do that) and even holding his hand tightly (much to Brain's surprise). He also does that little hand gesture at least five or six times and showcases his more extravagant personality. So, my conclusion is that if you were to only watch season 3 of the reboot then Pinky is nearly 100% gay. However, when you watch the rest of the franchise, this changes his sexuality to pansexual since he has a few female attractions earlier on.

Setting Things Up (Animaniacs 1993): Below is the first time Pinky gives Brain a compliment. It's from their debut episode "Win Big."

Although we don't get too many Brinky moments from the earliest era of the mice's existence, we do get to see that even from the beginning, Pinky really cared for Brain in many ways. He gives his friend compliments, admires his work, and even tries his best to follow his plans, (though Pinky can get distracted easily). In "Win Big" Pinky gives a seemingly content reaction when Brain pulls him by the tail. "Where Rodents Dare" gives us the first official gay stare in the series, done by Pinky after Brain talks to him about the plan. Pinky is often seen acting in a very positive way around Brain, no matter what his friend says. While this was the point in the series where the two's relationship could only be seen as a partnership/acquaintanceship, Pinky still seems to call Brain his friends without hassle. Brain seems more reserved here and is often more brash when it comes to Pinky and his behavior.

Things began to escalate quickly after the mice got their own spin-off show. Pinky's more flirty tendencies and his relationship with Brain began to grow stronger and stronger. He showcases his feelings more often here as well. For example: when Brain calls Pinky his colleague, Pinky gets all giddy and he swoons a little. When Brain compliments Pinky after his mindless TV watching proves beneficial to the plan, Pinky tells Brain to stop it as Brain's making him feel all gooshy. This moment is complete with Pinky looking flustered and there's even a music swell to compliment the entire ordeal. Pinky is shown on multiple occasions to take great pleasure in flirting or teasing Brain, giggling often. His loyalty to his friend is also shown in excess. When Pinky sees that Brain is going to perish after an avalanche in episode "This Old Mouse", he goes all the way up north to find him. Pinky does manage to save Brain, not only proving his dedication to his companion, but convincing Brain that the future can in fact be changed. Pinky even says things like "I can't lose you again" and when Brain tries to get him to leave for his own safety, Pinky repeatedly denies doing so, wanting to save Brain. It's incredibly heart-warming. In episode "Broadway Malady" Pinky sings a song after he and Brain split-apart about how much he misses him (and Brain hears the entire song and begins crying!). Pinky even gets the entire world's supply of important musical critics to watch Brain's show, much to Brain's surprise. Pinky's dedication to Brain is admirable, and the bond the two share is precious in every single way. Pinky is always there to comfort Brain in his darkest hours. He also gives meaningful gifts to his best friend including the globe keychain from the Christmas episode. Even when Snowball tries to convince Pinky to join him, he remains loyal. Despite the many flaws in their relationship, Pinky truly believes that Brain is the most important mouse in his life and he would do anything for him.

Despite being poorly received by fans, Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain gave us a few new, very obvious signs of Pinky's possible attraction to Brain. Though he has a gained a massive sassitiude, he still maintains most of his core character traits from the spin-off. The most obvious case of a romantic hint was in the segment "Pinky's Dream House." This gives us an extensive view at Pinky's desires, which include being a housewife to Brain and living a perfect life. He even goes on to sing a song about his dream (the song is really good and well written). This is one of the most ambiguously gay moments in the entire franchise; it's actually stunning that they managed to sneak this past network censors. Pinky wants this to happen, and it isn't a version of him that is female. It's just Pinky wanting to be a housewife to Brain in one of the sweetest segments from this mixed bag of a show. Pinky's wish does come true and he does get to live with Brain for a while, but it doesn't last. It's a darn shame too because it seemed like Brain was starting to enjoy this lifestyle as well. Aside from this, there are a few cute gay stares and a compliment or two on occasion. It's really admirable how Pinky's dream of being a housewife was taken very seriously, and that he still cares for Brain's needs no matter what.

A Troubling Conflict (the Brinky vs. Pinky x Phar Fignewton feud): Below is a picture of Pinky and Phar Fignewton (you get the idea of Brinky by this point).

Yeah, this was a thing. Back before the reboot was made and nearly everyone became a Brinky shipper, there was a small conflict within the fandom between two well-regarded ships. Brinky fans were just starting to migrate their way onto various internet platforms and the ship was gaining steam. However, there were a few people who stuck with the canon ship of Pinky x Phar Fignewton instead. Their reasoning was that the two were essentially "soulmates" with their designs being similar and their interactions all the more precious. For those who aren't aware, Phar Fignewton is a character that was introduced in the segment "Jockey for Position." She'd later appear as only a cameo in Pinky and The Brain segments "The Third Mouse" and "A Meticulous Analysis of History." She made her return in the movie Wakko's Wish, where she had a more extensive role as Pinky's love interest (or so we think). After this movie, she never appeared alongside the mice again, fading into the realm of obscure Animaniacs characters. A lot of people really liked this ship though and fanart made its way onto sites like DeviantArt. However, Pinky x Phar Fignewton fans would often denounce Brinky for interfering with their ship and Brinky fans would do the same to them. It was a giant mess. Unfortunately for the fans of the horse-mouse couple, their ship was laid to rest in non-canon during 2020 when the Animaniacs reboot came out, as she only appeared in a brief cameo. Pinky was now more focused on Brain and Brinky shippers rejoiced as the mice came close to being canon. Though many of us out there do ship Brinky, it's important to remember our fallen alternate ship and the cuteness it brought us. Brinky did win in the end, taking a lot of Pinky x Phar Fignewton shippers away from their previous ship and into a larger group of the fandom.

Put to the Side: (Reboot Season 1): Below is Pinky staring at Brain yet again from "Ex-Mousina" (I wanted to put the cute moment from "Future Brain" here but I think it's more suited to Brain rather than Pinky).

Here we are, the Animanics reboot. This is where Pinky's sexuality stops being questioned and instead becomes somewhat confirmed. Much to the delight of many people, Pinky's interactions with Brain become a lot less platonic as the series goes along; there are also less straight routes to fall down as well. However, things didn't kick into shape until later seasons. Cute Pinky and Brain moments were put to the side in exchange for focusing on re-introducing the mice to a modern audience in season one. There wasn't a complete non-existence as we got a few adorable stares and even a near-kiss (wait until we get to Brain Week to hear about that one!). The mice did have their fair share of gay scenes such as the X and O confusion bit from "Babysitter's Flub" and the ending of "Future Brain" where Pinky saves Brain from falling into a portal. Pinky's loyalty to Brain is stronger than ever, with Brain being the one that has to go through the test in his relationship with Pinky. Sure Pinky feels a twinge of jealousy when Brain essentially abandons him for a robot, but that ends up in complete disaster. While this season did a great job of re-establishing their relationship, Pinky's presence as a character had to be sacrificed. He barely has any major roles in these first segments, almost seeming like a side or background character at times. He still proves to have a close bond with Brain, always listening to his feelings and offering comfort. Luckily, better things were on the horizon.

New Developments: (Reboot Season 2): Below is a picture of an underrated embrace from "Narf Over Troubled Water."

This season managed to blow everyone's expectations out of the water. Not only did we get more undeniable moments of Pinky showcasing his possible feelings for Brain, but Brain seemed to recuperate those affections. Pinky was more used here, him having at least four times as many gay moments as he did in the previous season. He often lovingly gazes at Brain, gives him tight embraces, holds his hand, and even mentions attending a traffic light party and wearing yellow, seemingly implying that he doesn't entirely know what their is relationship at this point. The number of moments in season 2 that made people scream in delight are nearly impossible to count. Here are a few notable ones. In "Backwards Pinky", Pinky often makes vaguely flirtatious comments about Brain, to which Brain responds in annoyance. In "The Flawed Couple", Pinky is seen in the first pilot playing a housewife to Brain in a similar situation to "Pinky's Dream House." Pinky's loyalty to Brain comes full circle in "Run Pinky Run" where he would do anything to save his best friend. "Happy Narfday" probably has some of the most obvious interactions including Pinky calling Brain "darling", Pinky moving Brain around and holding his hand, and even an adorable hug at the segment's end. Pinky compliments Brain and makes pleasant statements to him in "Plight of Hand" and "Mouse Madness"; in the former, he even fights against his own hands in order to save Brain. "Narf Over Troubled Water" was probably the most famous episode when it came to Brinky moments. There was just so much to comprehend at once; it's extremely difficult to try and mark down it all. Pinky comforting Brain after he starts doubting himself, Pinky coming back for Brain after their split-up, and that ENTIRE ending sequence were the most noticeable. These moments were impactful to Pinky's character as they showed his displays of affection and kindness and that their co-dependent relationship was not only important but entirely necessary to the franchise.

Season three had easily the most on-the-nose segments when it came to hints at Brinky. This is also the season that confirmed to a lot of people that Pinky was not straight. In fact, if you were only to watch this season and nothing else, Pinky could be considered gay. Not only does he never mention a female love interest but he seems to have taken his flirty and more romantic tendencies with Brain to another level. There is an intimate interaction between the mice in every single episode, whether it be settle or extremely suggestive and obvious. Pinky in particular starts to showcase his feelings in a more outrageous way. These moments are just precious. In the first few segments, Pinky is seen doing various things, including staring at Brain, rubbing his head when he gets stressed, touching Brain's image on a screen, envisioning Brain in the stars, making an adorable macaroni photo of him kissing Brain, implying that he thinks that he and Brain are having a romantic moment, relying on Brain to calm him down in a car, and resting his head on Brain's head. The second half of the season showcases Brain seemingly responding to these actions in a not so settle manner (at least from an audience perspective). From Pinky kissing Brain goodnight in one of the most hyped-up moments from the entire reboot to Pinky getting somewhat jealous and hurt when he sees that Brain was married to Julia in an alternate world, these precious scenes come in abundance. The final four episodes contain more development for Brain than Pinky, but they're still noteworthy. In "All's Fair in Love and Door", Pinky looks very surprised when Brain sacrifices himself to save Pinky from AI Julia. After Pinky saves Brain in the end, he even holds Brain's hand tightly, much to the latter's surprise. "How The Brain Thieves Christmas" was more of an exploration of Brain than Pinky, but the taller mouse has some fun moments. He poses "seductively" in front of Brain when modeling for the toy. Pinky gives Brain a meaningful gift: the thing he needed to take over the world. Pinky even says "love you!" to Brain in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in the second part. The ending was also quite sweet with Pinky making a ton of gay stares and starting lots of embraces with Brain. In "International Mouse of Mystery", the whole song shows Pinky dropping essentially compliments towards his friend. Pinky also seemingly wants Brain to kiss him at one point, only for Brain to throw him away. Pinky is almost definitely at least some form of LGBTQ+ at this point, due to his relationship with Brain being very strong. Seeing these kinds of interactions between best friends, male best friends nonetheless, is interesting and unique. It makes their friendship/possible romantic relationship all the more special and this is why they have an extensive fanbase of people who really care for them.

Pinky is honestly one of the most influential and important characters when it comes to gender identity and just being yourself, at least in the modern media. The running "joke" of him wearing dresses went from being a little gag in various episodes to being an actual part of his personality, revealing that it is something he enjoys quite a lot. And no one every belittles him for his decisions, especially Brain, who only gets annoyed with Pinky's actions rather than his appearance. In fact during some segments, Brain seems to have a reaction to Pinky's looks, especially in "Mouse Congeniality." While many characters characters have cross-dressed in old cartoon such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, they were usually to evade the capture of a foe. Pinky does this in a lot of plans, sometimes because he wants to, other times because it's necessary for the plan to work. He didn't have to dress up in "Royal Flush", but he chose to do so. That's amazing. He also doesn't dislike being referred to by she/her pronouns. At first, things didn't start out so revolutionary. Pinky's first time in a dress was in the Animaniacs segment "Noah's Lark." Rather than looking sophisticated, he looks like he's only wearing this as a disguise to go along with Brain's plan to sneak onto the ark. It's portrayed in a silly way, as if Pinky was forced to do this. He does this again in episode "Meet John Brain" when he tries to play the role of Brain's first lady. When the spin-off series was introduced, Pinky's feminine side was exposed in a more natural, less comical way. The dresses he wore were more elaborate, more colorful, and cuter. He'd be seen playing with lipstick in episode "Of Mouse and Man", showing that this was something he did for fun. After that, he can often be seen in dresses during various parody episodes, often playing the female character. He also posed as a female in episode "My Feldmans My Friends" alongside Brain as his spouse. However, in the song "The Really Great Dictator", Pinky is seen in a pink dress in what has become one of his most beloved appearances in dress. Not only does he not wear any makeup or wig for the very first time, but in the context of the song, Pinky didn't have to wear a dress at all. It was his personal decision, rather than one made by force. Despite wearing a ton of dresses, Pinky could rock the masculine wardrobe as well, being seen in suits, tuxedoes, sweaters, and swim trunks throughout the series. In Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain, Pinky would add more outfits and looks to his collection including he (and Brain!) wearing lipstick and earrings, a Hansen inspired getup, and of course, the well-known headscarf and apron from "Pinky's Dream House" which was discussed earlier. Pinky in dresses would become a popular part of the fandom; however no one was prepared for the glory that would be given in the reboot, around 22 years after Pinky was last seen in feminine clothing.

The reboot would give us incredible moments when it came to Pinky as a character. He could finally be himself and showcase all his marvelous beauty. The first instance of Pinky in an outfit was in season 2 episode "The Flawed Couple" where Pinky is seen in typical housewife attire for a parody of the show The Honeymooners. His most iconic, popular, and recognizable dress was in the episode "Mouse Congeniality" where Pinky joins in a beauty pageant to help Brain in a plan for world domination. Pinky outfit here goes all out, even to the point where Brain is impressed with his work. Pinky is seen here in a blonde wig, has purple eye shadow, long eyelashes, lipstick, a pink dress with sash, long pink gloves, and high-heeled shoes. This is perhaps his most elaborate outfit to date, with him sporting a completely new and impressive appearance. He is also seen in a few alternate costumes including a bikini (finally!) and a baby costume (I don't know you guys). Pinky even manages to win the pageant, albeit not by vote. Him winning the pageant is a very heartfelt and genuinely happy moment. Pinky stating that he wanted to be the most beautiful human woman on the planet was so precious and sweet. It also offers a great look at Pinky, showing that cross-dressing is something he genuinely enjoys and wishes to do. Even though he doesn't wear another dress throughout the rest of the season, Pinky will sometimes randomly have eyelashes or act in a feminine manner. It's so adorable. In season 3, Pinky continues to push and break boundaries, blessing us with two new looks, though they are similar to his previous outfit in "Mouse Congeniality." In "Royal Flush", Pinky is wearing a red version of his previous dress along with purple long gloves, high heels, and another blonde wig. In a few scenes towards the beginning, Pinky has eyelashes. However as the segment continued along, those disappeared permanently, leaving him again without any makeup. He still looks incredible though. It's quite intriguing to see Pinky without makeup in a dress because that hasn't been seen since the 90's. His final outfit comes from the segment "International Mouse of Mystery", which has also gotten some attention after a frame from this cold-opening was leaked in early February 2023. This outfit contains elements of the previous two looks with Pinky wearing a red dress, though it's a darker shade, having dark purple eyeshadow, eyelashes, lipstick, high heels, and a red wig. It's really cute how he tries to play the Bond girl seen in a lot of spy films and he looks really good. Throughout, the entire song portion (Pinky has an angelic voice), Pinky is seen in his getup with Brain even "saving" him at one point. It's super cool that even though three different studious animated these episodes (Digital eMation, Titmouse, Saerom), the dresses and design remained consistent. Though it would've been nice to see Pinky get more dresses to wear, the ones he got proved to be good enough to leave an impact on the community. Every time Pinky is seen in a dress, he's treated with an enormous amount of respect and is showered with praise from all angles. He is a genderfluid icon, and can be inspiring to people in the ways he expresses himself in such a natural way. Even if this show is forgotten, there remains some hope that Pinky will be remembered as an important figure in the realm of gender identity and positivity.

Conclusion: Overall, Pinky exemplifies true greatness when it comes to representation in the LGBTQ+ community. Even though things started off in a nuanced manner, things began to become more obvious as the series went along. Pinky began to showcase his feminine side, wearing dresses and makeup for enjoyment. His apparent attraction to Brain becomes more exaggerated in the reboot. It's so wonderful to see this kind of character in our ever-changing world. Even though most of this involves things that haven't been outright confirmed, it's still important to look though all this change and growth. There are a lot of individuals out there who could and do latch onto Pinky, including myself. While he may seem like a surface-level mouse at first, if you take a deeper look, you may find that he's not as simple as he appears. I hope you took something from this, whether it be some random person on Tumblr charting Pinky's relationship with Brain and with his character growth, or a bit of information you never knew. I'm here! I finally had the time and the brain capacity to focus on your ask. The planets aligned! LoL

No hair. That's my opinion anyway. The je ne sais quoi of Feyd is his otherworldliness, for me. He is unlike anything I've ever seen before. Part of that is the hairlessness. If he has hair on his head what does that do to our other headcanons? Hairless all over still? Black teeth? Black cum? But I bet you could make it work with hair if you wanted! Do you think hair would negate all those other traits?

And... you brought up The Crow. I knew with my love of Bill it was bound to come up. And yay your birthday month!! 💕 I think I expressed my thoughts about The Crow 2024 best to my friend when I first saw the trailer (below the cut).

I have very mixed feelings because I am a huge fan of the first movie. However, I'm trying to be open minded that this is based on the source material (not a remake of the movie) and we live in the year 2024 so the aesthetic is incredibly different. Plus, I will watch anything Bill Skarsgård does, at least once. I never thought I would agree with his casting for this. Here's the worst part: I want it to be bad so I can keep the first on a pedestal. Brandon Lee was the best part of that film and without him I don't think it would be the cult classic that it is. Perhaps Bill can carry the film if it is otherwise melodramatic and absurd (because, if we're honest, even the comic and first movie were quite over the top). I do prefer the 80s goth look for Eric Draven, but this could work. We'll find out this summer.

I want to assume you've see the first one because you called him Eric but instead I'll ask: have you see the 1994 version? God I was obsessed. I saw it on VHS in 1995 and I immediately had to have the soundtrack (one of the best in that decade). I found a replica of Shelly's engagement ring (I wish I still had that)! I had Crow t-shirts and the posters from the video rental place when they came down. I read every comic I could find and in 1995 it wasn't easy to find them. The Crow tipped me from near-goth to full-goth and that lasted for the next 7 years or so.

I reiterate: I can't make up my mind now. The 2024 version is being called a "reboot" but that's incorrect. It's another adaptation. How many times have novels been adapted and each film is its own? All the time. So I truly hope I can watch it as an adaptation of the source material and not a remake of my beloved cult classic.

First of all, starting Friday: The Album Drop

...do I need to say more? No? Well too bad, because I'm going to 😂 I'm a huge music freak, been singing since I was four, play guitar and the piano (I didn't say good okay, I'm actually very jealous of Jensen) and I've been obsessed with lyrics for pretty much forever. Alright, call me crazy but this album is so Dean Winchester coded it's unreal. Every song could be put together with Dean and I'm not even joking. You know what's even funnier? THAT THE DAMN SONG JENSEN AND MISHA PUT TOGETHER YESTERDAY COULD VERY WELL END UP AS A RADIO COMPANY SONG. The lyrics definitely needs some work (probably making it more vague), but... come on. The first thing my mind jumped to when I realized what Jensen was singing was Watching Over Me. MOVING ON.

Second: Jensen's answer about the Destiel reunion

This hole thing still drives me crazy. This was probably the clearest answer we've even gotten from Jensen, plus we got confirmation that he'd like to see a Destiel reunion AND ADDRESSING CAS' GOODBYE (I wanna say here that at this point I have no idea how that would play out if it would be something like "Hey buddy, I don't feel that way but I don't wanna lose you" or a full on love confession from Dean... I have no idea and that's okay, because I know Jensen knows how important that confession was to a lot of us, so I trust him not to invalidate Cas' feelings). Now, I paid a little attention to the words he said about maybe seeing it: first, he said that hopefully we'll get to see that at some point, and later he said maybe we won't. This immediately jumped out to me and you know what my brain did? Let me tell you: Jensen said that he doesn't talk about possible project before they aren't under the wraps because he doesn't wanna jinx them. Now hear me out: first, he said maybe we'll get to see it. Then he backtracked. He's talked about a reboot/6-10 episode thing for forever now. He WANTS to come back. My tinhat is firmly in place when I say that I have no doubt he's working on it already, but it isn't greenlit yet (hence the backtrack later). The description was just too specific to be made up out of thin air. (Watch me regretting those words later because I'm just too hopeful.)

Third and last: Whatever that Cockles Panel was

Listen, I could scream about them forever, we all know what went down, the only thing I wanna point out is: When Jensen said "...which is funny because so do I" he looked flustered as hell, we all know that by now. What gets me is that Misha had basically no reaction to this (he looked down, but that's it). So, did they plan something like that? I don't know, I just think it's weird as hell to have no reaction to something like this, especially when it's your "best friend" and he says that in front of hundreds of people.

(Plus, a little side note: still not over how you can SEE Jensens brain working while he's nervously rubbing his thigh.)

I don't even wanna go into the lyrics they wrote together, I've talked about it during the first point already, but something I wanna add is that I loved jensens face journey as Misha first mentioned the brothers but then immediately jumped to "The Angel". That was hilarious and by God, Jensen was planning on throwing together something romantic.

I'm very much not fine as you can tell, but it feels like the universe has shifted after the non-existent finale and now it's our turn. I always try to keep my expectations low, but the album and this whole weekend catapulted me right into the sun, so now all I can see is light and stars and it's wonderful.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem amplifies the fun of the franchise - REVIEW

*Slight Spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem*

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a franchise that has consistently been rebooted and I have never minded.

While the 2003 series was my initial Turtles introduction, the 2012 series really made me a fan. It had the right balance for me of brotherly affection, drama, stakes, and weird obscure villains.

While Rise of the TMNT wasn't exactly my taste, I can appreciate the animation, comedy, and going for a different new take. Plus my god is the Rise of TMNT movie good. I'm all for making really cool characters into animes now.

Going into this movie I had extremely high hopes. Not only has this franchise rarely disappointed, but it was produced by Seth Rogen, who has worked on shows like The Boys and Invincible, and directed by Jeff Rowe, who is not getting NEARLY enough credit for this movie. He was a writer on Gravity Falls and the co-director of one of my favorite animated movies: The Mitchells vs The Machines.

And I got to say, this movie does not disappoint.

The animation style is both impressive and at times disgusting in the best possible way. This is the first time I've felt New York feel grubby and grimy. Every shot looks wonderful, and that cannot be understated.

The hardest part of the Turtles is usually the brother dynamics. I feel like if not written or performed correctly, the Turtles can come off as buddies or even acquaintances. But this was not a problem here. The idea of having all four actors in the same room clearly paid off, as the four of them riffing and mocking each other were some of the highlights of the movie.

I do think coming out of this, some of these turtles will be the definitive versions of the characters. While Mikey and Raph have their charms, Micah Abbey as Donnie and Nicolas Cantu as Leo were stands out for me.

The idea of taking Donnie from the tech guy to more of a calculating nerdy weeb was genius. Donnie often is the guy who is most made fun of because he is nerd, and I think pivoting to him being a smart-ass and respected for his brain was a nice touch.

Leonardo as the goody two shoes dork who wants to lead so bad also worked for me. Leonardo can sometimes come off a sorta bully or arrogant for even trying to be the leader. Making him unsure but wanting to be a good leader makes him charming and more likeable.

Also among our heroes are Ayo Edebiri as April O'Neil and Jackie Chan as Master Splinter.

While April does not have as much to do as I would've liked, I think Edebiri is a nice addition and I'd be happy to see more of her. She has good chemistry with the brothers, although it did take me out of the movie to think of the age gap between Edebiri and Cantu.

Jackie Chan's Splinter may be my biggest problem with the film. While he is a passable Splinter and has plenty of laughs, he does not seem as fierce of a warrior as he has seemed in the past, nor as wise. I do not mind a flawed, anxiety ridden Splinter, but he should feel like he can take on the Turtles easily, and I don't think he can.

(Also, Jackie Chan is a bad father in real life and shouldn't disown his estranged daughter for being gay. Read all about it here!)

I'm not going to go to into the details of all the villains in the movie, as there are quite a few, but I really loved the inclusion of the vast TMNT universe, and their own fun takes on them. One of the benefits of having Seth Rogen as a creative is access to all his very talented friends. A highlight for me was Mondo Gecko, voiced by the great Paul Rudd.

The main antagonist of the film being Superfly was a rather interesting choice. While I was sure we were going to have a Jekyll and Hyde situation with Superfly and Stockman going in, the idea that it was his mutant son was a weird but fun choice. Clearly Ice Cube was having a lot of fun playing a villain. He gave me quite a few laughs and felt like a proper first villain for these turtles. I'm glad they didn't just jump into Shredder or Kraang.

While all the characters are fun and interesting, what I really love about this story is the central theme of acceptance. Having them all have the goal of being accepted by society felt natural, important, and very teen drama, which is fresh to the TMNT. They are often outsiders who don't really care about that, just protecting the city. Making that at the heart of the movie made me feel for them in a way I haven't before.

Leaving the movie where it does excites me for more movies and the upcoming show they have planned. I think this version of the turtles can last us a good 5-7 years, and will end up being as iconic as the ones that came before.

Not that there is a super high bar for TMNT films, but this is definitely my favorite. I think kids are going to love, TMNT fans are going to love it, and non TMNT fans are going to be pleasantly surprised.

I highly recommend you go see this movie, I know I am definitely going again soon.

What if Ian found the tape first? I mean, he's starring in the reboot, the director might have handed him a box of old tapes of the show to get a feel for the character he'll be playing. Sure, it's mostly normal episodes, but one of the tapes must have gotten mixed up... Something about an '84 Incident'? But he's curious now, plays it anyway...

Jack recognises an opportunity when he sees it. I mean, this has to be fate! This little ray of sunshine is going to be resurrecting the Sunnytime Crew! But, well, this 'Ian' can't give his all to the role if he's hurting so much inside. The kids at home will know he's not genuinely happy. So Jack will just have to fix that!

Ian reminds him a lot of what he went through as Joseph. A difficult home life, struggling to fit in with peers, the pressure of the industry forcing him to do things he doesn't want to do... Jack knows about Y/N, he knows that Ian cheated, but he knows why Ian did what he did. (Patreon spoilers I guess?) And he knows that Ian still loves them.

It starts off less-than-altruistic, if he's being honest. I mean, the more Ian trusts Jack, the more open he is to 'suggestions'. He shows him how to be the best Sunny Day Jack he can be, how to be more confident, how to be strong enough to win Y/N back, to be worthy of them! And maybe a little possession could help with that, you know? Practice makes perfect. Muscle memory. Ian tries to rationalise it as 'method acting', but he's really liking this new version of himself.

Being connected like that, well, it's a closeness neither of them are used to. Ian comes out of his shell, keeping more of that confidence even when he's not possessed. And Jack, well, he starts to feel some of Ian's emotions towards Y/N. He wants them to come back, to be with Ian again, to be with BOTH of them.

Honestly idk how it would work out, I have two options in my brainsoup and both are equally appealing. On the one hand, Ian and Y/N discuss the problems in their relationship, how they've grown as people, and seeing the genuine change in Ian is enough for Y/N to give him another chance. Also Jack is there because I'm a poly bitch and Jack has two hands lmao.

On the other hand... well, Ian's already said he NEEDS to have you back in his life, right? And if Jack felt the same way, so desperate for that connection he felt in Ian's memories, yearning to be a part of it, willing to do ANYTHING for his sunshine... Two yanderes, fused into one Sunny Day Jack, would be unstoppable."

I love this so much, Ian is in like prime position for Jack to manipulate him!! by the by, while i'm on the subject, if you're not deep into the #calendileslore you might not know this one, but the 2018 reboot comics very clearly establish the "giles sees the scoobies as grown-ups, jenny sees the scoobies as kids" reading and does super fun things with it and THAT is what i'm drawing from at many points in time, because it rewired my brain to see her try to verbally beat him to death about his complicity in a death cult right after having sex with him. like we can obvs point to the cut surprise scenes in canon which also supports this notion to the extreme but the comics are unparalleled in depicting a set of circumstances where giles thinks the best way to support teenagers is to just refuse to support teenagers & jenny is responding like I AM GOING TO KILL YOU TO DEATH
