Someone mentioned in a post I saw that BJ’s love language is probably Acts of Service. It mentions the way that he’ll show how much he cares about Hawkeye by doing things for him, including the last episode in which he writes “GOODBYE” in giant letters with rocks instead of just saying it 🤦🏻😂

So I’m curious: what do you think the other characters’ love languages are? :)

— i think hawkeye’s is definitely physical touch . it’s pretty obvious when you watch him the more he likes someone the more touchy he is with them … leaning into trapper when he laughs , arm consistently around radar whenever he talks to him , hugging and leaning into bj , letting the others sleep on him , holding margaret when she’s upset , a hand on henry’s shoulder … i could go on and on . “ oh but he’s always touchy with everyone “ because he loves everyone ??? next question

— i think trapper is less of an acts of service guy ( i think a lot of the stuff he does is just because it’s funny ) and more of a quality time guy . i mean of course it goes without saying that he’s always hanging around hawkeye because he loves hawkeye , but i think we see it reflected a ton too with this patients ; there’s several instances where we see him hanging around their bedsides in hopes they’ll get better . and there’s several instance where we see him just hanging out with henry or hawkeye or even frank doing nothing . but doing it just because he loves them and wants to be around them and i really think that’s sweet lol

— it’s so a hard to tell with frank because obviously we don’t see him do any loving acts a ton , but if i had to assign one to him i’d say gift giving . frank is so stingy that even getting him to give something to someone of any value ( whether it be a necklace or a signature on a form ) is monumental . and when he does i feel like it must be because he loves them . deep down . just a hair

— henry is words of affirmation without a doubt in my mind . like we see him struggle with using his words to express how he feels ( like in ‘ henry , please come home ‘ where he stutters before telling hawkeye and trapper that they’re swell , and giving radar a pat on the head ) , but he really shows how much words mean to him in episodes like ‘ ceasefire ‘ and ‘ abyssinia , henry ‘ . i also think in episodes like ‘ sometimes you hear the bullet ‘ or ‘ the trial of henry blake ‘ or ‘ sticky wicket ‘ when he offers encouraging words or is straightforward about how he feels , he means them . and he’s saying them to express that he cares , and i think that’s big for him . so yeah , words of affirmation for henry .

— margaret is quality time , even from the early seasons when she took so much consideration on setting up her little dates with frank . she just likes spending time with people , with the patients , with her nurses , with potter , with the swamp rats . she finds time , even with how busy she gets with being head nurse , to take little moments with people she cares about . i think its more subtle , but i think it’s very important to her character to notice .

— radar is acts of service . i mean , yeah , a lot of the stuff he does is because he has to do it , but a lot of the stuff he does he doesn’t have to do , either . my always goes to ‘ showtime ‘ when he found the mother with the baby and went to henry with her when he missed the birth of his own kid . i love thag radar is always helping out in his own little ways when even hawkeye may be unaware . he’s just always going out of his way to help , and i love him for that . i love him for that .

— charles is words of affirmation to me too . i think opening up and being honest is a big big thing for charles , and i think since he didn’t really have anyone growing up to offer him those words it adds to the fact that he uses them as something he didn’t really ever have . its a big deal for him ,, it makes the scenes with his stuttering patient and the piano player more special . because he means it . because its coming from his heart .

— i’d like to think klinger is gift giving , as he’s doing manicures or sometimes giving things to the nurses or giving his little bits of fashion advice . i think its not always the physical things he’s giving away , but also little pieces of his heart through his kind acts .

— father mulcahy is acts of service , not only because he ( more or less ) has to because of his profession , but because he genuinely likes going out of his way to help people , i think . he worries that his profession doesn’t help people in the way the doctors do , because it’s not as obviously outwardly making a difference , and i think he struggles with that because his way of loving and helping isn’t ‘ enough ‘ sometimes . but i genuinely think it’s less about him being a priest and more because he has this innate love for humanity and he wants to help them .

— finally , i think potter is quality time and my strongest argument for thjs is the time he takes painting portraits of the 4077th members or his participation in the parties , despite the fact he doesn’t seem as though he’d be a party fella . i think both of those are just excuses because he can’t bring himself to admit he just likes spending time with his little found family

that's probably the one thing i can appreciate about this tbh, the fact that both mork and day are incredibly complex characters with very realistic emotions and motivations that, even if i don't like how they are being handled, i can still understand

this is why im kinda wondering if i would feel slightly better about the break up if they had led up to it a bit better, because while i get where the characters are coming from, i also feel like some of their feelings happened completely out of the blue. for mork in particular, it was obvious from the beginning that he carried a lot of guilt for p'rung's death, but before the second part of this episode, i've personally never felt like he lived in this constant fear of losing day to the point that he didn't trust day to be able to take care of himself without someone's hell. idk if i can explain myself but like.. in episode 10 day took a cab and got to mork's restaurant all by himself and mork didn't worry about it at all. in the first part of this episode he was the one to tell day's mom, "day's normal. he just can't see", and in this case the audience can believe he means it because throughout the show he has constantly tried to help day regain his agency and independence. so when, exactly, did he grow so paranoid?

and similarly, while day has never wanted to be pitied and the break up was as much because of that as it was because nothing else would have made mork actually take that job offer, it doesn't really match with what day has been saying all this time: "even if you want to [let go of my hand], i won't let you", "don't disappear"...... obviously it wasn't an easy choice for day, but. was there really no other way?

idk i just can't help but feel like there's something missing here that, if it really had to happen, would have made the separation at least feel more organic within the narrative

💙— How do they say/show that they miss their partner?

I feel like Mac is big into quality time. Once he's established with his partner and they spend some time apart, he'll want to come together at the end of that and do something fun or relaxing, or even just carrying out a care task with them like cooking dinner, unpacking and sorting their laundry from their trip, or 'helping' them take a bath. 😉

If it's a companion to whom he hasn't admitted his interest or attachment yet - say, a sole who leaves him in sanctuary to travel with another companion - then this looks like him finding an excuse to set up nearby wherever they are once they get back, cleaning his rifle or flipping through a comic as he injects himself into Sole's conversations, or settling into a meal next to them at the common house.

💞— Are they a big cuddler? What is cuddling them like?

Skin to skin is important in childhood development and as such, children crave that shit. That's why I HC that the Little Lamplight kids cuddled a lot. Like, I think Mac grew up in an environment where platonic cuddling was a given. Everyone did it, and it wasn't even a little bit weird.

Becoming a merc, obviously, shoved him in the complete opposite direction and after Lucy was killed, and especially after leaving Duncan in the CW, he became severely touch starved.

Becoming Mac's partner means touching every moment that you can get away with it. Cuddling in bed is full body, arms wrapped around each other like a drowning man clutching a life raft cuddling. Washing a dish means he's got his arms wrapped around you from behind. Packing bullets means one of you has your feet up in the other's lap while you do it. It's constant.

💋— What are their kisses like?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mac is a hopeless romantic. His kisses are like a window into his soul. Soft and earnest for when he's feeling content. Cheeky and playful when he feels endeared. Heavy and almost overwhelming when he's feeling anxious.

🚪— What would kill their trust in their partner/close them off? Could this ever be amended?

I feel like cheating is a really obvious answer. Like, cheating is gonna upset anyone, yeah? I guess the difference is that some people may stay with a cheating partner out of fear of being alone, desperation to keep things from changing. I feel like Mac would NOT be one of those people. If you were in a closed, exclusive relationship with him and you cheated? He wouldn't be able to abide that kind of betrayal.

Worse than that, though? If you ever did anything that endangered a child, had the potential to come back and hurt a child, knowingly orphaned a child, refused to help a child in need? That's fucking curtains on your relationship.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 - REACTION + THOUGHTS

Holy fucking shit, everyone 😭 it was only two episodes and yet I feel drained, it took like 4+ hours to get through two damn episodes but I did it!

My reaction to Episodes 1-7 are HERE!

I wrote my thoughts in a notebook as I watched and I’ve elaborated more on those thoughts in this post below. Mostly it’s a lot of freaking out and fangirling though 😂

🌊 What moment makes you want to walk into the ocean? I've already given an answer to this question here. But here is another moment that I am crazy over: Ji Hoon going to work the day they find out Min Jeong has gone missing/died.

It's pretty clear that Ji Hoon has feelings for Min Jeong. We never find out the true extent of those feelings, but the fact that he has a nervous breakdown (of sorts) at her funeral, and Dong Sik is worried for Ji Hoon's mental health in episode 5 (hinting that Ji Hoon suffers from depression and agoraphobia) shows whatever he felt for her was a deep emotion. Yet, he still goes to work and answers the phones (I can't imagine the number of phone calls he had from people panicking and wanting to know information about Min Jeong's disappearance, just further rubbing salt in a fresh wound😭). He's fucking crying at the front desk! But he still does his job, despite the shock, the trauma, the grief!!! I... 😭

😂 What’s your favourite Han Joo Won quirk? Already answered here, here, here. I really like Joo Won, which I know is pretty obvious at this point and I think it's interesting (and honestly, really lovely) that people want to know my opinions of him! He's definitely the character I get asked about the most. Anyway, one thing that I really love about Joo Won is that he needs time to process information. For me, this is a part of his neurodivergent coding (I know we've discussed this already) and is something I really relate to. It's kind of rare (from what I've seen, at least) to see a pov character that gets easily overwhelmed by a bombardment of information and has to take time to let the information sit with them before coming to a conclusion.

It's one of the reasons his arguments with Dong Sik don't go his way; Dong Sik is able to recite a myriad of points off the top of his head but once he's said them, he kind of forgets (which is very normal for most people). When Joo Won is on the receiving end of this, he tends to shut down, and needs time to collect himself. But he still takes the information in and remembers it, which leads to numerous occasions where he recites something Dong Sik has said back to him, word for word.

I love that! I think it's such an interesting personality trait and it works so well against Dong Sik's personality. They process information in different ways, and their differences complement one another.

👀 What would you like to see if they did a season 2? Okay, I have thoughts on this. I think that there is room for a season 2 but I don't think it's necessary to do.

I will prefix this by saying that I may be forgetting a big bit of information that will prevent this point from becoming reality. I don't have the best memory, so I admit that I could be forgetting something. I personally believe that Han Ki Hwan has very good grounds for appeal (just on Yu Yeon's murder. The other crimes?? There's probably a long paper trail, and Lee Chang Jin and Do Hae Won's testimonies that would put him away for a long time), as there isn't any physical evidence of the hit and run. Other than Lee Chang Jin and Do Hae Won, the only piece of damning evidence (that I can remember) is his confession... which was obtained legally, therefore, we can presume his legal team will have it dismissed from the trial.

So, his appeal process could be something they focus on. However, I don't really want to watch that, as there's not a lot of story there.

What I would want is a mini-series, or perhaps, a movie of sorts where we get an update on the characters' lives. It doesn't really matter to me how far into the future it is, I just want to see Dong Sik heal and move on, Joo Won get closure and finally find a family that loves and accepts him, Jae Yi finding a life outside of her mother's butcher shop, Ji Hwa getting the respect she deserves, Ji Hoon growing into himself, Joo Won and Hyuk working on their relationship, Jung Je and Dong Sik m a y b e working on their relationship, and of course, jwds.... being an actual couple.

It would be so sweet to see them slowly becoming a part of each other's lives, getting to know one another outside of the death and trauma, and just having that same intensity but the tension can't be disguised and dismissed as "it's the situation", y'know?

I want to see jwds sitting together on a sofa after having dinner, trying to figure out what their new dynamic is going to be. Them stumbling their way through the healing process together, learning together, understanding that it's okay to want and how to be quiet and to just b r e a t h e.

I want to see Manyang in the summer. I want BBQs at the lake house. Christmas jumpers. Busan weekends. Manyang nights. I want New Years' Eve kisses and hugs and drunken laughter. I want misunderstandings and mistakes and grief and showcasing that the process of healing is a fucking long one and looks different for everyone. I want Joo Won's grief to manifest in odd ways (sweet and sad ways). I want to see Dong Sik feel comfortable with being honest. But most importantly, I want all of them happy. (minus the obvious handful) (But I don't think we'll ever get that. The story is so complete without it, and I don't think they'll be able to tell the next steps without addressing the queerness👀 so, yeahhhhhh)

Anyway, yes, thank you again! I sure did ramble on for a long time, so I'm going to shut up and let you get on with your night/day 😂

Steve for Send Me a Character ask game!

Steve Murphy?? My hillbilly husband?? 🥺

First impression: I liked Steve a lot right off the rip but I immediately was like, "Oh I love him but he's a little Dumb, isn't he?" and I was right But like you can't give me that Miami scene with him and Connie and expect me to not fall in love with him a little bit. C'mon now.

Impression now: I still love him and I still think he's a little Dumb 😂 But he is a character that, when I went back and rewatched some of the show, I really got a bigger appreciation for the transformation he went through. Like, you could see it, you know? But aside from Carrillo I can easily say that Steve was my favorite character in OG Narcos. I remember watching s3 with my partner and I was like, "They can't just bring in another blonde no hate to fiestl we love him and expect me to forget about Steve. I Miss Him."

Favorite moment: The scene of him and Connie meeting each other lives in my mind. But the angsty side of me just fuckin loves when he gets back from the chopper ride with Carrillo and he calls Connie and he's all choked up. Like I love drowning in my tears I love that scene so much. I couldn't find a gif but if you've seen the show you know The Scene. He just wanted to hear her voice I'm 😭😭😭😭

Idea for a story: This is the question, isn't it??? 😂 I want to write for Steve so badly but I have no idea what I want to write for him. I just want to put that man in Situations. I wish I knew what kind lmao

Unpopular opinion: I don't think I have one? I feel like obviously, the man is not everybody's cup of tea and I totally get the reasons for that. But I love him. No one can stop me.

Favorite relationship: Steve & Connie 5ever. I love love love them. Even just based on the show I adored their dynamic, but once I read Manhunters I really just got super deep in my Steve/Connie feelings. Runner-up is him and Javier for obvious reasons lol

Favorite headcanon: I know that irl Steve was like, the go-to guy for teaching people how to shoot guns well. And I just love the idea that after the pigeon fiasco in the show that Javi had to take lessons from Steve 😂 The bitterness. The banter. We love to see it.

I sent a screenshot of this to Eggy before I even considered answering it for obvious reasons and I was offered the chance to answer how I feel🥰🥰🥰

I could never label Eggy and I and the more time goes on and the longer and longer we know each other, the less I have a desire to find something that fits. We know, and that's enough.🥰🥰🥰

All I know is, Eggy is special. Sunshine Eggy. When I miss them, I watch Mike Flanagan films and shows. When they're online, I get ridiculously happy and almost immediately send a hello message or ask. I've turned comfort films off halfway through or decided to skip watching that night, just so I can spend some time on call with Eggy. I've lost sleep to have more time with them, though I'm soon sent to bed.😂 We never run out of things to talk about and sometimes I catch myself waiting for Eggy to message me. We have each other's backs ALWAYS and I've grown so much as a person in this bond we have. Even when I mess up, they're there guiding and supporting me. Sam and Frodo battling Mordor, crawling together and carrying each other some of the way, always in turn and in equal measures.

When we cut the call last night, my last coherent thought was thanking them for making my head quiet... Eggy always does that. Stills my anxiety and makes me relax just by existing out there and being their wholesome self.🥰🥰🥰

I love Gen a whole damn lot but I could never label what kind of love it is. It's just lots of love for my wife...

BNHA Ultra Analysis Book

OKAY! I bought the BNHA Ultra Analysis book. I'm not gonna lie, the title is pretty misleading.

There's not any real analyzing going on here. When you read it, it really reads as if it's a news article on the BNHA cast. It's kinda just "Here are the characters. Here is how the appear to the citizens in the BNHA verse."

Please keep in mind this is from 2019. There is missing information (obviously about Dabi) and it doesn't even really acknowledge that Nana is Shigaraki's grandmother on either of their character things.

This IS a legitimate source of character information. It touches on the LOV's dynamics. Things that the heroes wouldn't know, so it IS information to take and use. But ultimately it is not an ultra analysis. It's mostly just basic information, BUT some of it is pretty hilarious.

Justice is deserved indeed, if I do say so myself.

Okay, so Dabi. Honestly all of this is stuff we already knew. But my second favorite part is his 'personality'. (first to be disclosed in a second)

Personality: Inscrutable.

Inscrutable- not readily investigated, interpreted, or understood.

Boy is that true.

My FAVORITE part is his relationship with Shigaraki: "fractious"

Fractious: tending to be troublesome, quarrelsome....irritable

That....is so fucking funny. Are we to assume they just constantly irritate the shit out of each other? And they just....suck it up? And deal with it? For the sake of keeping the peace? God, I hope so 😂that's too funny.

Toga. This is where it's incredibly obvious that it's supposed to be read from an "outside" person's perspective. Not within the LOV, not a reader. Someone within the BNHA verse that doesn't know the LOV.

Toga's "addiction"---it wasn't an addiction. But, it may look like that to authorities. Especially with the way the tidbit about her parents is worded.

There wasn't much on Shigaraki's worth posting. It was all stuff we know. But I wanted to show that they put his personality as "man child".

And, I wonder if All Might and Gran Torino made law enforcement aware of Shigaraki's real name? We haven't seen....anybody in canon say Shigaraki's real name. Nobody outside of a flashback. So...idk. But his name is there.

Anyway--to Nana's.

Relationship with AFO: "To take him down, any sacrifice is worth it."

B, we can ALWAYS discuss GBBO. I am 100% here for that. And I have thoughts.

my favorite female character contestant: Nadiya from series 6. She is my queen. I love how she was such an underdog at the beginning and overcame it to win. She's the only contestant I've ever rooted for who's actually won. And now she has her own cooking and baking shows! 😭💜 (And you best believe I've tried her recipes and loved them.) ALSO, I really loved Briony from series 9. She was my early favorite to win and I was legitimately furious when she didn't make it to the final.

my favorite male character contestant: *looks at Richard from series 5, Tamal from series 6, and Selasi from series 7* I literally can't choose between them. Richard should have won his series. He was the obvious favorite going into the final, but the pressure obviously got to him. I was so upset when he messed up the signature and the technical because I knew there was no coming back from that. Tamal's personality was so endearing. And he was so good at what he did! If Nadiya couldn't win, I would've wanted him to win. That final showstopper?!?!?! WOW. And Selasi was just so calm and his friendship with Benjamina was one of the most wholesome, heartwarming things I'd ever seen on the show. He was so steady. I would've loved to see him in the final.

my favorite book/season/etc: Series 6. Hands down. There were a lot of good bakers in that season and I still consider it the strongest final they've ever had. (Plus, Mary, Mel, and Sue were still around.)

my favorite episode: It's so hard to pick one episode out of all of them, so I'm going to pick a theme instead. And I've gotta go with cake weeks. I love seeing that baseline get established. For something so basic, people really do get onto the show and mess it up because of nerves. (Also, I love seeing all the cakes that are...informal. They make me laugh. But don't get me started on how Dorret managed to make it through cake week in series 6 when she literally made something the judges described as rubber and which didn't taste good. AND THEN SHE MADE IT THROUGH BISCUIT WEEK?! I don't get it.)

my favorite cast member: Noel Fielding. He's added such a chaotic element to the show and even though I miss Mel and Sue, I really just love him so much.

my favorite ship: everyone x all the innuendos

a character contestant I’d die defending: Kimberley from series 4. I wanted her to win so bad. And, look, I know everything she did in the final was flawed, but she was doing well up until then. I'm really salty that they get to the final and just disregard everything contestants have done up until that point. Because they'll literally go from week to week and say, "Yes. There's a trend. This person has been doing terribly. It's time for them to go." Then they get to the final and just throw that out the window! Which leads me to the next thing...

a character many contestants I just can’t sympathize with: Frances from series 4. How many times did they have to remind Frances that she was choosing style over substance? HOW MANY TIMES? She should have never made it to the final let alone won it! I also found Nancy from series 5 absolutely insufferable because she could never admit when she'd messed up. Ian from series 6 really bugged me. There's just something about him and I can't put my finger on it. Candice from series 7 irritated me and I'm still mad that she won because I think Jane and Andrew were much stronger bakers.

I didn't know Jack had dogs?! 😅 Fred posts his constantly...! Also I think Charlie now lives and works in London so Fred is there a lot to see him (since the other part of their trio is in Oz) Also I kind of like that Jack rarely posts when in Norfolk (not for your sake 😢) but it shows how protective of it he is and probably that his farming plans for post rugby are actually pretty serious?? The less info he shares about the where of that the better...! Clever guy!

Oooh a Cam and Molly wedding would be immense!! But rugby players at weddings stress me outttt 😅 they get too drunk and all class goes out the window...👀😭

Love watching any podcast he's on - also love how close him and Fred seem to be 🥰 I think he really looked out for Fred when he was the only baby tiger in England camp ❤️ and they seem to have a similar sense of humour! The more I think about it, the more I think that DK and Fred are on some level the actual besties of the group - I know Fred and Jack have history through Norfolk and they clearly get on so well, but with DK, the friendship seems a bit more lowkey and that sometimes shows a different kind of closeness? They met at uni so they share the same lough friends, whereas Jack has been introduced to them all as a friend of a friend, and the article where DK rang Freddie straight after his family to tell him of his England call up (before he got injured)! Also that video of Fred jumping on his back after the game at Welford road the other month was so adorable 🙈 And I think the greek holiday was couples only, if all the single lads went along then it would become a lad thing and the girls would be on the sidelines a bit! 🥴 It will be SO interesting to see whether their dynamic changes if Dan moves out with R though...will Jack or Ollie move in?? will Guy?? Fred might laugh about him but I think he is really serious about farmwork. He might even be more rich from that than from his rugby career even tho I never seen him spending any money in weird expensive stuffs so he might still have a lot of money on the side. I saw scrum halves were very badly paid but he doesn't have university loans.

Well it is not everyday he is called clever 🤣 so I Will take it. He is not that dumb I am just kidding because for example he unfollowed some people who were just money 🎣 athletes. And I guess being a bit a dummy is part of his charm like his lisp 😊I think it is adorable but when you start hearing it you only here that 🤣 and when he is anxious it is getting worse it might be because he had gap teeth when little that they corrected. I think Fred and J are brotherly bonded and DK and Fred besties because he has "chosen" DK when he is used to J . Really not the same. J and Fred they had minis and academy together and their Norfolk skin bond and now England careers basically childhood friends so they might have been friends for 17 years easily ??? Who can beat that ??? So I agree that DK is different and more a friend in the way you became friends when you are a grown up.
