The Italian Senate passed a bill in July that bans the production and marketing of synthetic food and feed. This bill is a huge move to protect both farmers and consumers, encourage the cultivation of real food, and preserve the cultural heritage of Italy. "Italy, which is the world leader in food quality and safety, has the responsibility of leading the way in health and environmental protection policies,” says the president of Coldiretti Ettore Prandini (Italian Association of Farmers). What are your thoughts on this bill? Periodic reminder that the Roman republic and empire were extremely genetically diverse, and had as much blood in common with Greek, Anatolian, and Middle Eastern folks as they did with western Europeans. The first African-born emperor came to power in 193 CE, another was ethnically an Arab, and we've even found evidence of Romans of East Asian descent.
Rome's military system, economy, and geopolitical strategy depended on its ability to integrate non-Romans into the empire, and at any given time at least half of its army was made up of non-Roman auxiliaries (Mary Beard, SPQR, ch. 4-5). By the age of Julius Caesar, most of Rome's citizens had non-Italian ancestry (Erich Gruen, The Last Generation of the Roman Republic, p. 360-361).
Rome had a lot of problems, and it was not progressive by modern standards, but it's impossible to separate the growth of the Roman empire from its immigration (including transport of slaves) and ethnic diversity.

Sephiroth but he's reacting to Tifa at the Italian Senate
Sephiroth cordially wishes to express that he has never been a fan of Ms. Lockhart, or her rather incessant need to get involved in situations that should not involve her presence. This seems to happen at any given time he encounters her in battle, and it appears she has difficulties keeping out of other affairs as well.
......that said, there's a certain level of chaotic mayhem to the incident that a devious little mind like Sephiroth's greatly admires. Deliciously scandalous. Imagine if it had been Shinra instead?
In other words?
Sephiroth: 'lol nice"

In what ways are you and your muse different?
I give Modern!Ben everything I've never had, and he's so ungrateful.
No jk!! But ramble time: most of Ben’s concerns are internal. Some of mine are too ngl, but Ben doesn’t think about… what it’s like to have nothing, for example. Fear of poverty absolutely makes my Top Five; I don’t think it’s in Ben’s Top Ten. That’s one thing I really enjoy about this muse. Ben can be like, “Today we are buying The Target” or “Today we are going Eataly—twice! For fun.” Whereas my experience has been more like, “Today we are going to Target to shop within my limited budget, hopefully without vomiting due to stress,” or “Today I am going to Eataly—twice. For the woman I work for. I got the wrong hors d'oeuvres.”
It's a matter of "Krasdale sells produce?" VS "I'll take the Krasdale produce against my ""better judgment""; Food Co-ops are not happening in this economy." It's Red Hook, Brooklyn VS the Upper West Side.
He also owns a few of my NY-based fantasy homes. Lucky bastard. I think if he existed, I'd be mad at him on principle, and he'd be okay with that.

* through grinded teeth* I will not argue with conservatives trying to say that Giorgia Meloni is just a victim of the evil commies that depict anyone it doesn't like as a fascist, I will not argue

I realize that the divine comedy was probably not meant to be a legitimate serious book of scripture but also it’s still so fucking funny that like Cain, Judas, and also this guy I hate personally are all in hell and they’re the devil’s best friend
