Y'all realize that you can (and probably should) treat trans women and transfems as people right. Like you can acknowledge that they face a lot of awful shit and are targeted with layers and layers of bigotry without like. Putting every trans woman and transfem on a marble and gold gilded pedestal.

Trans women and transfems shouldn't be respected because they're goddesses with girlbulge or hot dommy mommies or divine feminine. You should respect them because they're people, which means they aren't perfect and will do things you won't like or think is weird/gross, but you should still respect them. You should always treat them as people first and foremost, rather than a mythical figure in your political fantasies.

Dumb shit I'd do at Comte's mansion:

I made it under the cut because it was longer than expected.

*hides all the garlic because I'm too embarrassed to ask if it's a real thing.

*remembers all the vampire romance novels I read randomly* "you know I read this book once about this vampire king.....*stops mid way remembering the spicy details of said book and aborts awkwardly. *ahem* "it was pretty good...."

At some point I will ask if anyone knows Alucard. "I think he also goes by the name Adrian Tepes....?"

*overthinks the garlic thing and takes it from the hiding spot. Proceeds to throws it all out but at some point I'll get caught by someone.

I would fall on Leonardo while he is naping at some point.

Would nap WITH Leonardo.

Sebastian would yell at me because I get distracted too much while doing chores around the mansion.

Would probably try to flirt with Arthur but chicken out half way through after realizing I have no social skills what so ever.

Would totally ask Sebastian if I could read his diary about the residence and if he refused I would plan a heist.

It would fail horribly.

I'd leave my window open for Dazai.

I couldn't speak to Comte.

Like at all.

He would say something as simple as good morning and I would get so flustered.

I'd be so shy around him that he'd probably think I hated him.

Really I'm just intimated by his incredible good looks and charm.

And the one time I do get enough courage to talk to him I'd be something really dumb like,

"Hey, so, do you take requests?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Like...hypothetically...if there were someone in history I REALLY wanted to have a conversation with....and I made a request could you turn him? I didnt know if there was like a suggestion box or if i just...ask..."

*long silence*

"I'm asking for a friend....."

*deep sigh*

"I've already told Sebastian that wasn't how it works..."

"Oh...ok...thank you..."

*Leaves without admitting it was my own request*

And finally...once I became drunk or just comfortable with everyone "so do the fangs really make the victim orgasm....?"

I think I would make friends with Arthur or Dazai the quickest so it would probably be one of them.

God I'd be so screwed

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are not your enemy!! They are not Ruining the Sanctity of lesbianism or gayness. They are not the reason why cis men are lesbophobic, and they are not why bigots can't take gay people seriously

They are NOT a community that uses a label made to describe a lesbian who is attracted to trans women. It was not made by terfs. It is a label that is largely used by queer people with a beautifully complex sense of sexuality, and/or oftentimes gender identity/identities

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are simply a subset of the lesbian and gay community, much like the asexual lesbians, or aromantic gays, or the trans* lesbians or the non-he/him gays. These are diverse communities, and have been for decades, even centuries.

No one in the mspec lesbian and mspec gay communities are demanding anyone to do anything, especially in regards to a stranger's own sexuality. All they ask for and want is understanding, respect, and care. Just like the rest of us - just like you.

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are people who have probably gone through a lot of inner reflection on who they are and what label they want. As you most likely have, as well, and so have I.

We all start off with the same question - "what am I?" - it's just that we all end up with our own answers, each one similar and different to each other.

We are a community. A family. Having a kneejerk "but!! My feelings!" is inevitable, especially with the more complex or obscure things, but that is something that should be temporary and then let go.

Do not let that hook of fear dig into you, because it won't lead you toward the bright future you want.

Fight it, open your mind, and listen to us

I do wonder if, in a way, Reiner had been projecting a little bit.

Just this little exchange over here... I wonder if somewhere in Reiner's mind, he was thinking that Jean usually does things for his benefit. And, when push comes to shove, think only about himself. Because in some aspect, when Reiner decided to step up to the plate and take command after Marcel's death, he may have thought that it wasn't just about the mission. Because... as I often do say (because that's how I see it) Reiner's true objective is to prove himself to his mother; and the way to do that is to come back alive with results, be a hero, etc. All of those are secondary to what he truly wants which is the love and acknowledgement of his parents. He was so clear about it. 13 years to live is worth the sacrifice if in the end that meant that he's going to be acknowledged by them. And this was something that he guised in the form of their mission for Marley. It's very convenient. Hitting 2 birds with one stone. So, he can't go back empty handed then because he know he will be killed, the Armor fed to someone else etc...

So, I'm just thinking that maybe in this situation, he thought Jean would act a little more selfishly, like he did when he made the decision to stay. And seeing how Jean acted, he realized that, they were in fact, very different from one another. That when forced to make a decision, Jean can in fact, rise to the occasion to make the ones that actually matter the most; not just for the sake of himself, but for his comrades too.

While Reiner did what he did for the sake of proving himself, Jean wasn't doing it for something as selfish as that. But more because he just didn't want anyone else to die if he could help it.

And I think that Jean being able to openly acknowledge someone despite how he feels for them personally, is something of an alien feeling to Reiner... who only ever lived with disdain despite the work he puts into thing. Maybe he finds, in this moment, a number of admirable and respectable qualities in Jean, that he wished he could've understand prior to everything.
