Karendy, eh?

I honestly like this ship very much! They have so much in common! They're both smart as heck, incredibly irritated by the stupidity around them and they have a similar sense of humor. It's canon that Karen appreciates Sandy's friendly ear and that Sandy values Karen's opinion and intellectual abilities.

Those two already spend so much time together during their regular "Girls' Night Out" meetings and I think they really bond over their shared interests.

Sure, Karen is married to Plankton and she obviously has strong feelings for him (else she wouldn't let him treat her like that)! But I can totally picture Sandy and Karen falling in love somewhere along the way - between all the scientific conversations, making fun of the silly men in their lives and of course all the coffees they drink together.

Maybe they discover their feelings for each other during one of the Gal Pal Nights after Mrs. Puff leaves (cause she's gotta get up early the next day to get ready for another boating lesson with Sponge or whatever :D) and Sandy and Karen stay a little longer to keep on chatting about science stuff. And then something clicks and they have a moment and they just know it.

They'd probably doubt their feelings at first and Sandy would probably feel bad about destroying Karen's and Plankton's relationship. But love will win in the end (plus Plankton has got a certain crustacean on his mind anyway 🤭) so Plankton and Karen could definitely end up being friends and maybe even have brunch together - double date style with Sandy and Mr. K!

Ah, that would be such a cute love story! <3

Here’s a quick rundown on my SBSP sona, Coraline.

After leaving her old town (which was basically filled with other sea monsters who bullied her for being a runt and not being intimidating enough), Coraline moves to Bikini Bottom to start a new life. She at first struggles to find a job because of her species, so she ends up working for Plan.kton because he assumes that with Coraline being a sea monster, she would be perfect for helping to steal the secret formula and hires her on the spot. After getting tricked at first into helping Plan.kton in one of his schemes (which I might draw this out as a little comic so look out for that), Coraline threatens to quit before Plan.kton reminds her that no one else will hire her, so she’s stuck working for him. Krabs sees her as a threat so he’s on high alert while Spo.ngeBob feel bad for the sea monster and want to persuade her to work for them, even though Krabs is against it. Spo.ngeBob and Coraline then keeps finding themselves running into each other in town and kinda have a secret friendship at first because of their bosses’ rivalry. Right away, Spo.ngeBob learns that Coraline has self esteem issues and tries everything to make her comfortable, almost going out of his way to put her needs before his, which bothers Coraline. Coraline quickly realizes that Spo.ngeBob has a habit of putting others first and feels guilty about him helping her so she then steps out of her comfort zone and starts standing up for the sponge when others try to take advantage of him, making her more assertive.

Coraline’s relationship with her boss is difficult because Plan.kton knows Coraline doesn’t want to steal the secret recipe (or hurt Spo.ngebob) but Plan.kton keeps using the sea monster’s naive nature to his advantage, tricking Coraline constantly into his schemes. This only makes things difficult to Coraline and Spo.ngebob because each time the have to confront one another, they have to act like they haven’t been seeing each other in secret behind their bosses’ backs. Squi.dward however finds out.

After awhile both Spo.ngebob and Coraline start to question their friendship because at first they just assumed they’re close friends until they find themselves getting nervous around each other and shy. It then gets to the point where Coraline actively start to avoid the sponge in fear and embarrassment, causing Spo.ngebob to get concerned and worried that he’s doing something wrong.

In the group, Coraline is basically the ‘Gentle Giant/Shrinking Violet’ trope. She gets along the most with Karen, seeing her as an older sister. Overall Coraline see herself as a mistake and struggles to accept herself, which makes her struggle to make friends due to her feeling like she’s not good enough.
