like leafpool is one of the very very few characters we see that like. actively chooses to be a medcat because she cares so much about it. like its not because of a prophecy or because starclan decides it she just wants to help people. and she cant even be a mother to her own kids that she loves until shes dead LEAFPOOOOOOOOOOOL. LEAFPOOL

At Cinderpaw’s first Gathering, Fireheart introduces her to his friend Onewhisker, from WindClan. The brown tom grins at his friend and calls over a white molly, announcing her as his apprentice Whitepaw. Whitepaw is funny and clever. She defends Brackenpaw from a ShadowClan apprentice’s jabs. Cinderpaw thinks she’s the most wonderful cat in the forest, after Fireheart. Brackenpaw reminds her that Whitepaw is from WIndClan. Cinderpaw realizes that he’s right, and in hushed tones, she and Whitepaw make plans to meet at Fourtrees before the next Gathering. And they do. Cinderpaw gets good at slipping out of camp, unnoticed. Brackenpaw covers for her when he has to, but never asks why, and Cinderpaw is thankful for her littermate and his unwavering loyalty. She thinks of this often during her time in Yellowfang’s den, leg throbbing and mood low. If she wasn’t so good at sneaking out of camp, someone would have stopped her. If Brackenpaw wasn’t so loyal, he wouldn’t keep showing up with stories about his warrior training with her mentor. She doesn’t meet with Whitepaw outside of Gatherings after that. Over the moons, Cinderpaw and Whitepaw drift apart. Cinderpelt and Whitetail keep their memories of their time together as a happy moment in childhood. Cinderpelt wonders if Whitetail thinks of her in the dark of her den, wishing things could be different. But life goes on, and Cinderpelt wishes it less and less, and by the time Leafpaw joins her in the Healer’s Den, she’s made peace with it.
And then the world ends.
The forest is destroyed, ripped apart tree by tree. Cinderpelt and Leafpaw work to keep ThunderClan afloat. She comforts Leafpaw when they can’t do enough, teaching her the lesson that Yellowfang taught her so long ago. The two of them learn and relearn it together as their Clan begins to waste away. When WindClan joins them at Sunningrocks, Whitetail looks tired. Cinderpelt offers her what she can, and Whitetail helps Cinderpelt care for their Clans. She takes all problems in stride and fights tooth and claw against the onslaught of pessimism as surely as Cinderpelt fights against the weakness that sweeps through the shared camp. They grow close once again. If Firestar wasnt’ so busy, he’d notice that they were growing too close. But he is, and he doesn’t. Cinderpelt and Whitetail whisper their love with the roar of the waterfall keeping their secret.
Newly-named Leafpool is young. She has always been dutiful and dedicated to her position, so Cinderpelt knows she is sneaking out of camp at night. Her apprentice doesn’t know how to step quietly or cover up the scent of WindClan on her fur when she slinks back into the den at dawn. Cinderpelt knows, and she understands. She’s much more cautious with her journeys to the WindClan border. She’s careful to clean Whitetail’s scent off of her before she nears ThunderClan and the garlic she’s gathered coverrs up any smell she may have missed. She gives her apprentice as much leeway as she can, giving her herbs to sort when Crowfeather’s smell hangs off of her too strongly, and letting her sleep in when she’s out later than she ought to be. Cinderpelt can see it in Leafpool’s eyes when she decides to leave. She should tell someone about her apprentice’s plan, but selfishly, she doesn’t. She wishes Leafpool all the best. She hopes that her apprentice can find enough happiness for the both of them.
When Cinderpelt is focused on delivering her nephew, her wish suddenly changes. Now she just wishes her apprentice was back. Leafpool falls to the badger as Sorreltail’s final kit is born. The brown tabby molly is small, with delicate white paws. Cinderpelt moves the kit so that Leafpool’s blood doesn’t stain her white chest. With Squirrelflight’s blessing, her youngest niece is named Leafkit, after Sorreltail’s best friend. Cinderpelt grieves her apprentice. She and Firestar spend many sleepless nights sitting quietly together. Crowfeather stays in ThunderClan, grieving with Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw. The three become a little unit, supporting each other. (When Squirrelflight’s kits are born, Crowfeather frets over them more than Brambleclaw. Lionkit is the river’s reflection of Goldenflower; Hollykit is a darker gray than Cinderpelt is, and Firestar says she looks like a littermate of his; Jaykit is Cinderpelt’s favorite, a gray tabby whose every stripe matches his father’s. Crowfeather is the perfect grumpy uncle, and Cinderpelt wishes that Leafpool was there to see them.)
As ThunderClan’s sole medicine cat, Cinderpelt needs to make sure she is focused on her Clan. She meets with Whitetail, her speech to end it all planned out. She meets her again and again and again. Whitetail’s eyes are bright and clear and Cinderpelt can never bring herself to say the words. And then Cinderpelt doesn’t think she could ever say them, because she couldn’t bear to never meet their kits. In a hollow tree during a snowstorm, she delivers her kits (two mollies and a tom, gray and white and perfect). They curl around the three kits and give them names. Cinderpelt will hold this moment in her heart until she fades from existence. When the storm finally breaks, she helps carry the kits back to WindClan. She lies to Onestar, tells him that she found Whitetail in labor on the border. She helped the WindClan molly because it was her holy duty. Whitetail introduces Mosskit, Rockkit, and Bugkit to their Clanmates. Onestar and Smoke’s youngest kit, Heatherkit, watches them with owlish eyes. Nightcloud eyes Whitetail enviously, her stomach swollen with kits soon to be born. Whitetail had kept Cinderpelt updated on the scandal of such a traditional molly claiming Queen’s Rights. Cinderpelt left her family to return to her Clan.
Whitetail can’t meet her during her time in the nursery, too tired to travel to the border. Cinderpelt spends all of her free time thinking of her kits. She’s grateful that everyone thinks of her and Whitetail as friends; Barkface is always happy to update her on the wellbeing of her family. Leafpaw is apprenticed to Crowfeather. Hollypaw joins her in the healer’s den, and Cinderpelt knows that despite her stubbornness, she isn’t cut out to heal. She isn’t surprised when Jaypaw approaches her, eager to learn. She had known early on that warrior training wouldn’t be challenging enough for him. She teaches him what she taught his aunt, and tries not to talk about Leafpool too much. Cinderpelt presents Jaypaw to the other healers and to StarClan. She is so overjoyed she can barely stand when she finally sees Leafpool again, white paws full of stars and eyes kind and gentle. Her former apprentice stands tall when she speaks, and her words carry the weight of the sky: There will be three, your windblown kin, with the power of the stars in their paws.
Rockbelly, Bugspring, and Mosstooth (left to right) are the main characters of the Windblown Three AU! Kits of Cinderpelt and Whitetail, they hold the power of the stars in their paws.
Bugspring is cheery and personable. She gets along well with everyone she comes across. She’s super strong, able to move boulders with ease. She’s also able to recover quickly from most injuries, although she’s still susceptible to sickness, and often makes that everyone’s problem.
Rockbelly is very food motivated, and enjoys making his clanmates laugh. He gets short glimpses of the future, but often only moments before it happens. He also occasionally knows information about those around him that he has no reason to know. Despite his best efforts, he doesn’t have much control over either of these abilities.
Mosstooth is clever and direct; she often comes off as rude, but thankfully Bugspring is always there to smooth things over. Mosstooth is WindClan’s best fighter, with the ability to gain the strength of the foes she defeats in battle. While the power gained doesn’t last long, she is a force to be reckoned with in any fight.
I am down to talk about this AU any time. I will also happily draw other Windblown characters if asked 👀

Are you going to do anything with the group of cats in the Sun-Drown Twolegplace from Sunset? I always hoped they’d come up again in a super edition or something, and as far as I’m aware they didn’t. I think they’re neat
You mean the group from Sunrise? The group of cats who previously followed Sol, but had since learned their lesson?
Jingo (leader)
Hussar
Speckle
Pod
Fritz
Jet
Pepper (Jet's littermate, killed by dogs)
Chirp
Merry
Frisk (Speckle's child along with 3 unnamed siblings)
These ones?
Unfortunately it's very likely they're going to get elbowed out of BB because of the Sol reduxes I've done. He isn't JUST some cat anymore; Sol is a god and its vessel is Harry. So there wouldn't be a scene where they go and meet these random cats.
In general I tend to avoid the various "random" cats outside of the Clans. Imo, I find it somewhat frustrating that canon has such a HUGE cast of various Clan cats, but every 3 books we get a ton of one-off outsiders who are never relevant ever again.
Like Cody for example, in TNP. Yes Cody is cute, but they couldn't have Leafpaw grow close to like, a WindClan elder escaping the poisoning? Or just, Ferncloud, who's going through a lot right now? Show us some more details about Ashfur who's about to be a major romance option for Squilf? You don't have any arc for a side characters you could use this time for?
You couldn't pick a character with some kind of legitimate emotional connection to their ANCESTRAL HOME BEING BULLDOZED?
Idk, it often annoys me. It's an extension of how some of these books feel packed with filler and dead-ends.
BUT, I do try to build outsider groups when possible, so Clan cats aren't totally alone in the world.
If I could figure out a good reason for them to exist without it being distracting (for example I would get frustrated if I had to set these characters up during the Salt Patrol episode instead of building up the massive apprentice generation) I wouldn't be opposed to them being here.
I could also repurpose them elsewhere, if I do end up making a Hengest Culture. I can bookmark them for that. Jessie is going to eventually return to Hengest after cat-divorcing Bramblestar, they could show up then.
TL;DR Unlikely I'll need them, but I'll keep them in mind.

Another kitty! Meet Stempelt!
Stempelt is a lean, pale gray tom with icy blue eyes. He looks pretty basic. Not a remarkable looking guy!
But he has a strange origin. Stempelt is the son of Runningwind and Redtail. They used a Shadowclan surrogate named Fidgetflower, Fintfang's mate. When they have a litter, they promise the second born kitten to Runningwind and Redtail.
That second born is delivered to Thunderclan by Flintfang soon after its birth, sweet little Stemkit is given to...
"Oh. I didn't know. I'm so sorry for your loss, Runningwind."
Runningwind still takes his newly born son into Thunderclan, stating that this kit is his and Redtail's. Queen's Rights. He loves his son, but this pudgy, squeaking, nose-nipping little baby is a reminder of what's been lost. Runningwind refuses to let it get to him, and fiercely protects the infant, Frostfur sharing her milk with him.
Stemkit quickly grows into Stempaw, a mischievous little apprentice that forms a friendship with the equally mischievous Cloudpaw for what seems to be the express purpose of driving Fireheart insane.
Then, so suddenly and terribly, Runningwind is killed by Tigerclaw. Stempaw mourns heavily, along with the more silently grieving Sandstorm. The two almost siblings don't talk, they enjoy each other's quiet and peace. Sandstorm never knew what to make of Runningwind, but felt connection to him, seeing as Redtail finding her in the woods as a baby had lots of cats marking them down as family.
Stempaw was incredibly upset once more when Cloudpaw leaves Thunderclan, it actually damaged their relationship a little bit forever. It hurt, his best friend leaving with seemingly no trace, especially when he knew Cloudpaw was too tough to be kidnapped.
He was excited when Cloudpaw came back, but once again the feeling would wind up bittersweet when the now trans molly earned her name first, and when denouncing Starclan at that! Stempaw was older than her, it wasn't fair! She was gonna leave him behind again...
Though, he feels horrible when her crush, Brightpaw, is mauled by dogs. He understands her absence then, as Cloudtail fusses over the cat she loves so very much.
At the same time, Mistlepaw, Snowpaw's sister was struggling with her training. Her mother Speckletail was always supportive, but all the support in the world cannot make you pass assessments. Not that it matters much, with Bluestar refusing all apprentices their Warrior names, but Mistlepaw is especially struggling with tracking and battle training. With nothing much else to do, Stempaw helps her out. The 2 grow close, wrestling around together and Mistlepaw helping him with his grief. He forms a good bond with Mistlepaw and Snowpaw.
Firestar, new leader, finally gives almost all the apprentices their new names, including Stempaw, earning the name Stempelt. His mentor, Cherryshine, sister of Ravenpaw and Dustpelt, beams at him, offering him to sit with her and enjoy a good meal of blackbird together.
He fights in the Battle of Bloodclan alongside Mistleberry and Snowpaw (note: Snowpaw earned his name immediately afterwards, as he wasn't quite ready for his new name yet, he could fight, but he insisted he wanted to get his hunting perfect before he got a new name)
Stempelt would make the Journey with Thunderclan after being freed from his cage by Leafpaw, giving all his assistance to Speckletail alongside Mistleberry and Snowtail. Mistleberry and Stempelt became Courts. Almost mates, but not quite.
They held off on having any kits until they were 100% sure they were ready for it. They didn't become official mates until Po3 began, and they only had a litter of kits during The Divided Warriors (The Forgotten Warrior's new title)
During Long Shadows, he is given an apprentice. Deerpaw, new grandson of Tigerstar through his daughter Lynxpetal (a surviving Lynxkit). He acts as a father figure to the nervous little guy, and supports him after he loses one of his paws.
Finally, just as it seems things are going badly for the Clans, Mistleberry suddenly gives birth to 2 kittens. Frogkit, a bulky gray tom with green eyes; and Sunkit, a reddish brown spotted tabby molly with amber eyes. Though no one knows it yet, Sunkit is going to transition during apprenticeship, becoming a tom named Volepaw.
Though, tragically, Stempelt will never see this. Stempelt is killed during The Last Hope, fighting against the Dark Forest Trainee, Thornclaw.
He and Mistleberry both perish during the Battle, both watching their boys from Starclan.

i am losing my mind over your exile prequel piece
Thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate it! It was a pleasure to be able to head back to Into the Wild with the AU. <3
Just for fun, a snippet set in a kinder world:
Sandstorm stares as she watches her daughter press noses with Spottedleaf. Leafpaw's eyes are shining, her pelt is gleaming in the light, and her posture is straight and sure, but a part of Sandstorm mourns. She knows from experience — brutal, blood-curdling experience — that this will change things. It's irrevocable now — her sister is mentoring Sandstorm's daughter, and the part of her family that was separate has a piece of it again. Sandstorm smiles past the sadness, determined as Leafpaw bounces over that her eyes will gleam with pride, not unshed tears.
"Look, Momma!" she says, presenting the flower Spottedleaf had given her as a token of their bond. "I don't know what it is, but I will soon!"
Sandstorm purrs, tucking her chin between Leafpaw's ears. "I'm sure it'll mean something wonderful, darling," she says softly.
Leafpaw deflates. "Oh," she says. "I can't tell you. I forgot. It's… it's different now, isn't it?"
Firestar bunts his head against their daughter's side. "It is different," he confirms, "but that doesn't mean we love you any less."
"Yeah!" Squirrelpaw exclaims, dashing over from an already-exasperated-looking Cherrysong. "Love you, Leaf. We'll always be sisters."
Sandstorm looks over to Spottedleaf, who's gazing at her warmly from the base of the Highrock. There are scars stretched across her throat from the claws that had nearly killed her when Sandstorm was still an apprentice, and as Spottedleaf cocks her head, they almost gleam in the light of the sun overhead. She remembers, viscerally, pressing moss into the wound, knowing nothing, being shooed away by Yellowstorm and pacing outside of the seer's den for sun-cycles, blood flaking from her unwashed paws.
"Sandstorm?" Firestar questions, his gaze brimming with concern.
Broken from her memories, Sandstorm purrs at him before turning her attention to their daughters. "You're right. You'll always be sisters," she says, conviction in her voice, and calls for Spottedleaf to join them.
After all, they're sisters.

trans male!adult! talonpaw x trans female!leafpool hypokits
(talonpaw warrior name in this au is talonpelt and crowfeather in actually in love with nightcloud instead of him wanting to be loyal to windclan )
Warriors Ship Hypokits: Adult!FTM!Talonpaw x MTF!Leafpool Edition
In this AU, Squirrelpaw is the one who dies killing Sharptooth instead of Feathertail, and Crowpaw asks to be named Crowtail in her honor instead (because Crowsquirrel doesn't sound right). Talonpaw completely breaks down when his brother Smokepaw plummets to his death. He can't bring himself to keep going and just tells the others to just go on without him. He refuses to move another step and no one really knows what to do- Rowanclaw doesn't want to leave their apprentice, but the mountains are dangerous at night and the clans need to keep moving. ThunderClan's Medicine Cat apprentice Leafpaw solves the problem by just picking him up and slinging him over her shoulder. The two end up traveling like that every day while on the Journey. They both bond over the deaths of the closest cats in their lives, and continue to meet up once the clans all separate in their new territories. Talonpaw also doesn't get killed by Jaques and Susan, another ShadowClan apprentice does. Leafpool and Talonpelt earn their names and soon fall in love with each other. When Talonpelt realizes that he's pregnant and the two panic, breaking off their relationship. Talonpelt later has a litter of three kits, not disclosing the identity of their other parent:
Alderleaf- brown tabby molly with amber eyes. Cis molly, aromantic asexual lesbian. This universe's version of Hollyleaf. Alderleaf is very different from her canon self. She doesn't care too much about the Warrior Code, seeing it as something archaic that needs to have many changes and revisions done to it, although she does respect it to a degree. She also is pretty uninterested in StarClan as well. She often challenges authority out of the desire to improve the world around her and better the lives of other cats. Her power is future sight, and she would be the one with the dreams about The Ancients. She is not too happy about getting a power from StarClan but accepts it with relative grace. She is a Night-Stalker, then Deputy, and then eventually becomes Leader after Rowanstar steps down (replacing Tigerstar 2).
Ravenwing- dark-gray-and-white tom with blind amber eyes. Cis tom, demisexual demiromantic. This universe's version of Jayfeather. Ravenwing is still a snarky, prickly cat who doesn't let others in easily. While he was trained as a warrior apprentice for a time, he suddenly decided to apprentice under Littlecloud as a MedCat alongside Flamepaw. Why? Well, it's because Ravenwing is the one with the cross-clan romance. He became close to the WindClan Medicine apprentice Kestrelpaw after they met and decided to become a MedCat so the two could be together (MedCats can have romantic relationships with each other as long as no kits are involved). It also doesn't hurt that he's actually very good at being a Medicine Cat as well. His power is dreamwalking and sensing the emotions of others. He's uncomfortable with his powers because he is constantly invading the privacy of other cats. As stated above, he is a Medicine Cat.
Panthersmoke- massive dark gray, almost black, tabby tom with amber eyes. Cis tom, heteroflexible polyamorous. This universe's version of Lionblaze. Panthersmoke is mostly the same as canon Lionblaze except he is much more interested in battles and fighting. When he discovers that he is somehow invulnerable to physical wounds he is very happy about it. He ends up training in the Dark Forest much longer than he does in canon due to a combination of general lust for battle and just not being the smartest cat, and is the sibling that gets trapped in the tunnels with Fallen Leaves (maybe he still accidentally kills Russetfur in a fight? because killing a cat in battle is fine but this is a cat in the same clan as him so its bad). He'd come back for the final battle against the DF like Hollyleaf does in canon, but wouldn't die because he is invulnerable. He is a Warden.

So, the main objective of giving in and finally properly reading TNP is to have a better grasp of the characters and plot in preparation for the next omnis vir tigris installment and it's all very... The next installment focuses on the Jayfeather and Leafpaw mentor-apprentice relationship as well as the Jayfeather and Mothwing friendship and I'm finding I have threads and moments to pull at but nothing quite as clear cut as what I did with esse est percipi. For that one I strung together a lot of Bramblepaw centric scenes and replaced him with Jay, Holly, and/or Lion as appropriate to build up the starting point of their character arcs. It's a writing decision I ultimately kind of regret, esse est percipi is certainly one of the weakest fics in my bibliography IMO, even if I do adore the world I set up with it and the seeds I planted for the entire arc of omnis vir tigris. But either way, all this to say, the cogs are turning and if anyone is up for bouncing ideas and helping me figure out the plot here, really would appreciate.

some loose thoughts on warrior cats. just finished the new prophecy and about halfway through the sight.
the prophecies begin was great. super predictable, pure pulpy hogwash. extremely transgendered series of novels.
I did not like the new prophecy. the only character who I cared about at all was crowfeather and he got like no screen time. the pacing was inconsistent and the characters all felt pretty shallow. the only sequences that resonated with me were ones starring cats from the prophecies begin. it was fun having different protags in each book, especially splitting time between the journey and leafpaw back in the forest.
having fun so far with power of three. I really like hollypaw and jaypaw is also like extremely compelling. lionpaw I feel like is destined to die untragically in book 2.
the themes from the prophecies begin surrounding finding a place and learning to live in a world not meant for you haven't been expanded upon at all since like, Rising Storm. which is fine I'm not expecting this children's fantasy pulp series to be like deep and meaningful. but that's such an easy and impactful thing to explore and the first few books were so good at it. Jaypaw is an obvious pick to tell that specific story so we'll see how well the new Erin does it this time around.

Last time I talked about omnis vir tigris (aka the GoldenTiger 3 AU), @addershine got me thinking about the possibility of an even more complete role swap between Leafpool and Jayfeather where he not only is her mentor but full on her secret father. The trouble is, who could even be her mother? I love me the Jay and Moth friendship, but even in the best circumstances I can’t see them being interested in each other that way.
(Even if Leafpaw may think otherwise because I adore the idea of her being simultaneously the world’s biggest MothJay shipper and supremely jealous of her mentor getting so close with the pretty girl she’s got a crush on. I even have an idea for a little exchange between them once it’s revealed Moth is Tigerstar’s daughter where she goes “Damn, sorry you found out your girlfriend is secretly your sister” and he goes “Leafpaw, no, wtf, you’ve completely misread the relationship”.)
Anyway. If anyone’s got any ideas, please do tell me. Also, feel free to steal this idea. This is one of the things where I’m not sure I’d wanna write it myself but I definitely wanna read it.

Chapter One
“Mothwing, what are you doing talking to a ThunderClan warrior?”
Leafpool spun around to find the source of the scornful voice and flinched when she realized the warrior was so close to her. As she took a step back to put some space between them, her RiverClan counterpart let out an irritated sigh.
“Hawkfrost, please. You know this is Leafpool. ThunderClan’s medicine cat apprentice?”
I’m not that much younger than the both of you, Leafpool groused silently to herself, resentful at the emphasis of her rank. Though she quietly scolded herself; Mothwing may be RiverClan’s full medicine cat now, but it came at the cost of her beloved mentor. I’ll go back to being a ‘paw for the rest of my life if that means Cinderpelt will live forever.
She met Hawkfrost’s suspicious gaze and he stood there, studying her. “That still doesn’t explain what she’s doing here.”
For what wouldn’t be the last time, Leafpaw wished she had the indignant confidence of her sister. She imagined herself hurling a searing comment that sent the tabby stalking away, but instead, she could barely get out her reply without stammering. “I don’t mean any harm to RiverClan. Mothwing just asked me for help with a few things.”
“I don’t see why she would need your help.”
“I’m still learning how to do things on my own,” Mothwing snapped. “I don’t have the luxury of conferring with a Clan mate, in case you’ve forgotten.”
Finally, the hostility in Hawkfrost’s eyes melted and he deflated, though it didn’t do much to erase the intimidating image of him seared into Leafpaw’s mind. “Okay, Mothwing. Just next time, tell me if you’re bringing her here.”
“The only ones I have to tell are Leopardstar and Mistyfoot. Which I did. I don’t need your permission.”
“Maybe not yet – but it’s not about that. I’m more concerned about walking in and seeing my sister with a strange cat.” He looked back at Leafpool. “Not that she’s much of a threat.”
How arrogant! Though the fact that Leafpool couldn’t prove him wrong kept her quiet. Not that she would ever harm her friend, but Mothwing had moons of warrior training and her father’s size on her side. Leafpool had always been told her petite stature came from Firestar’s sister – and though Cinderpelt had taught her basics in defense, she had no doubt her friend could bat her away like an errant fly.
Mothwing let out a purr. “If she’s not a threat, then stop talking to her like she’s a raiding party, dumb furball.” Reaching out with a paw, she playfully shoved her brother towards the den entrance. “Now get out of here, unless you want to pretend to be our patient so I can get in some practice.”
Hawkfrost sniffed, his nose in the air. “RiverClan warriors have far more important things to do than lay around and pretend to be hurt.”
“Well then go do it!”
Leafpool watched Hawkfrost leave; she couldn’t help but noticed how the sunrays bounced off his fur, turning his brown tabby stripes golden and making the white patches on his body turn brighter than freshly fallen snow. She shook her head, annoyed with herself, and looked back at Mothwing. Why in the world are these two so… pretty?
“Don’t mind him,” Mothwing looked back at the pile of herbs they had been discussing. “He’s much friendlier when you get to know him.”
Somehow, I’m not so sure. “It’s okay. He’s just protecting his sister.”
“Hah. Or throwing his weight around for the entire camp to see.”
—--
“Thank you again for helping me.”
Leafpool stretched, letting out an appreciative hum as her aching shoulders popped. “Of course. As long as Cinderpelt doesn’t mind, I’m more than happy. If you need anything else, please fetch for me.”
“I will. Bye.”
Leafpool stepped out into the center of RiverClan camp and felt a wave of anxiety as she saw the sun setting. I stayed all day. Firestar and Cinderpelt are going to be cross with me. She tried to tell herself that if they had needed her, they would have sent for her, but ThunderClan territory was pulling at her paws nonetheless.
As she was deciding whether or not to announce her departure to Leopardstar, the RiverClan leader approached. Leafpool swallowed; the she-cat had always made her nervous, with her sharp eyes and even sharper words. Sandstorm had told her how viciously Leopardstar had fought for Sunningrocks in the old territories, and Leafpool feared one misspoken word could give away information that would spark another war. But I’m a medicine cat. Surely she knows I am not bound to the same rivalries as her.
But like Hawkfrost said, warriors are different.
“Greetings, young Leafpool,” Leopardstar narrowed her eyes. “Thank you for helping Mothwing, though I’m not sure what you knew that she didn’t, this soon into your own career.”
Swallowing indignation, Leafpool felt her head grow hot as she tried to keep her tone respectful. “Sometimes medicine cats are taught ways to use herbs differently. I’m sure I learned as much from Mothwing and she did from me.”
Leopardstar’s tail lashed. “Is that right? I hope Mothwing didn’t share too much of her… wisdom.”
Oh, not like that, you old crow! “You have nothing to worry about from me, Leopardstar,” she replied carefully. “It is against my morals as a medicine cat to cause any conflict that would harm others, let alone my own Clan.” The leader nodded and Leafpool hoped she was satisfied with that answer. StarClan, I’ve never been one for politics.
“Hawkfrost, please escort Leafpool back to her territory.”
Leafpool felt her face strain from the effort it took not to react. “Leopardstar, thank you, but there is no need to worry-”
“It’s nothing like that Leafpool,” this time it was Mistyfoot, who had just approached the two, speaking. “We’re still learning the lay of this territory ourselves. And there was a fox found between here and ThunderClan recently.” She looked at Hawkfrost, who had walked closer after being beckoned. “A strong warrior like Hawkfrost will be able to keep you safe.”
Hawkfrost narrowed his eyes. “Sure, Mistyfoot. Whatever you say.”
Leafpool’s heart skipped a beat as the deputy and warrior stared each other down a moment longer before Mistyfoot broke first, turning away to look back at Leopardstar. Mothwing had told Leafpool her brother had been bitter about giving up his role as deputy when Mistyfoot returned, and it seemed like that wound hadn’t yet closed.
“Let’s get going, medicine cat,” Leafpool startled when Hawkfrost stalked past, heading through the reeds that surrounded the camp. Reluctantly, she followed.
The beginning of the trip happened in unbearable silence. Leafpool desperately tried to think of something to talk about, but she feared anything brought up would be met with indifference or, worse, annoyance. She couldn’t help but feel amused at the fact they were both connected to Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight – how different they both seemed to their respective siblings. Though I guess I should be thankful we’re not bickering like Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight.
“Hello? What, are you having a vision from StarClan or something?”
Leafpool let out a small squeak of surprise as her travel partner’s voice broke her out of her thoughts. “I’m sorry, I was… thinking about something. Did you say something?”
Hawkfrost peered at her curiously. “I said, did you always want to be a medicine cat?”
Leafpool thought for a moment before nodding slowly. “Yes, I think so. I never had the… desire to learn how to fight and defend. I guess I always thought there were better ways I could serve my Clan.”
“Are you afraid of violence?” “Oh no, it’s nothing like that. I have to deal with violence the same as you. You may be inflicting the injuries, but I have to patch them up. I’ve seen everything – battle wounds, broken bones, illness. I’ve seen Clan mates pass peacefully and violently.” Dimly, she realized Hawkfrost had slowed his pace to match hers, his eyes sparking with interest.
“Did Cinderpelt receive a sign from StarClan that you were meant to be her apprentice?”
“No, I don’t think so. I just always showed an interest in healing. Don’t get me wrong, StarClan accepted me, but they never told her I was the one. She knew that on her own.”
“I wish Mudfur had the same forward thinking about Mothwing in the beginning.”
Leafpool sighed. “Me too,” she admitted. “Though, I don’t know how much of it was Mudfur. Correct me if I’m wrong, but RiverClan needed convincing, no?”
Hawkfrost lashed his tail. “Only the fools who couldn’t see past their noses to understand that she was talented on her own. At first, I couldn’t believe she would give up her warrior duties, but when I saw her train… She was meant to be in that role, and they’d all be fools to reject her because of our parents.”
Leafpool was surprised at the surge of respect that bubbled in her chest for the warrior in front of her. He really seems to care about his sister. Maybe his aggressive demeanor was more of a show than she thought.
But that behavior can’t be encouraged, she told herself. Aggressive warriors create tragic battles. And Hawkfrost seems like one of the most aggressive of them all.
Does he? A voice challenged. Or are you only saying that because of his father? Thornclaw and Mousefur are aggressive. You’re not afraid of them.
But I know them. Maybe that’s all it would take. Knowing Hawkfrost.
“Well,” she began carefully. “Mothwing did receive approval from StarClan. So at least there’s no worry about her being accepted now.”
“That’s true,” Hawkfrost said slowly. Leafpool stared at him, feeling as though there was something he wasn’t saying. The two fell silent again, before he suddenly asked: “Squirrelflight is your sister, right?”
“She is.”
“Are you two close?”
“She’s my other half.” Leafpool took two more steps before she realized Hawkfrost had stopped. She looked back at him, curious.
“Would you do anything for her?”
Where is this going? Leafpool thought for a moment before nodding. “Yes…Yes, I suppose I would. And I know she’d do the same for me.”
Hawkfrost nodded. “Mothwing and I are the same.”
“I can see that. You two have been through so much together.”
“You have no idea,” he muttered. Leafpool desperately wanted to no more, but bit her tongue. We’re practically strangers. If anything, I should ask Mothwing more about her past. Her friend did share stories of her kithood, and their mother Sasha, but anything beyond the surface seemed to pain her. And if Mothwing was reluctant to share, surely pushing Hawkfrost would earn her a swipe or two.
“It must be nice, not having to worry about what it looks like to have friends in other Clans.”
But then again, it feels like I’m being interrogated. Who knew this sourpuss was so talkative? Outside her head, Leafpool shrugged. “I wouldn’t necessarily say I can’t worry about it. ThunderClan will always be my first priority. It’s my home. But medicine cats took an oath to heal. Sharing information on herbs and helping the wounded won’t give an advantage in battle; it will just ease some of the suffering in the world.”
“I disagree,” the tabby countered. “Helping the wounded means Clans have as many strong warriors as they can. So, if you, say… healed my wounds, I would be able to fight for RiverClan – even against ThunderClan.”
She flicked her ear, growing annoyed. This hadn’t been the first time she heard this argument. “That’s because you warriors look at everything like a potential threat. I see a cat as a creature worthy of life, not a… potential pawn in a war. Maybe if I healed you, you would survive to attack ThunderClan. But you would also survive to help hunt and feed your Clan mates; you would continue to look after Mothwing and support her when she needs it. Who knows? You may even be inspired to move to the medicine den yourself.” She was surprised by the feeling of delight that spread through her when he barked out a laugh.
“Fat chance.”
Before she knew it, the two were at the border between their Clans. Leafpool couldn’t help but feel disappointed; maybe Mothwing was right. Hawkfrost did seem kinder, the more he relaxed. And she couldn’t help but admit how nice it felt for him to be so interested in what she thought of her duties, rather than only talking about them when her skills were needed.
Enough, she quickly admonished herself. You became a medicine cat to serve, not to be showered with praise every time you picked up a cobweb.
“Well, here we are,” Hawkfrost said. “I know I came out here because of the fox, but I’m going to admit, I don’t think I’d be as popular a visitor in ThunderClan as you are in RiverClan.” Leafpool shook her head. “That’s okay. No need to alarm anyone. Besides, I can smell Thornclaw, so the patrol must have just passed by. I’ll catch up with them.” There was a beat of awkward silence; not knowing what else to say, Leafpool began to wade across the stream that made up the border, her teeth clenched and her tail stuck straight in the air in disgust. As she made it to the other side, she heard a laugh and spun around. “What?”
“That was the most pathetic attempt at wading I think I’ve ever seen.”
She scowled. “In case you haven’t noticed, ThunderClan doesn’t exactly go fishing like you do.”
He tilted his head, suddenly thoughtful. “No, but you really should have some basic grasp on swimming, you know. Accidents happen, and you do live by a rather large lake right now. Drowning can happen in the blink of an eye.” His eyes darkened and Leafpool felt her heart skip a beat. Was that a threat.
No. He looks as though he’s mourning.
Before she could pry, Hawkfrost shook his head and focused back on her. “Next time Mothwing drags you over to… eat leaves and talk to flowers or whatever it is you two do, I’m showing you how to swim.”
“Now, Hawkfrost, I don’t think that’s necessary-”
“Nonsense. You don’t adhere to borders like us warriors do – you said so yourself. Someday you may need to come help Mothwing and fall into the water. She’d be devastated and she’s been through enough, wouldn’t you agree? Or what if one of your Clan mates is drowning? You could save them.”
Despite the voice in her head telling her to reject the offer from this near stranger, Leafpool had to admit he had a point. How many ThunderClan cats had to be saved by RiverClan while they were drowning? And how many didn’t last long enough to have that luxury? She shivered. There would be more incidents as curious apprentices learned the territory jutting up against the lake.
“Okay,” she said, finally. “Fine. I’ll let you teach me how to swim.” She was caught off guard by how nearly-delighted the usually surly warrior seemed.
“It’s a deal then. Go catch up with your patrol.”
Nodding, she bid him a quick and quiet goodbye and dashed off down the usual route the sunset patrol took. As she jogged down the ridge, finally catching sight of them, she barely noticed their calls of greeting. Instead, all she could focus on was the image of sparkling blue eyes in the front of her mind.
StarClan, I am an idiot.

some stuff i’m working on over vacation
if you have thoughts or opinions on what you'd like to see let me know.
everything is under a cut bc some of the excerpts are long.

Battles weren't supposed to be like this.
The thought echoed in Frostfur's mind, as she stood shoulder to shoulder with Brindleface at the entrance to the nursery.
Rosetail was outside, but she was an elder. If ShadowClan was attacking the nursery, they'd certainly spare no thought for an elder.
The kits cried. They didn't understand what was happening.
Outside, Frostfur watched Rosetail die.
"You stay," she said, and without giving Brindleface a chance to argue, she leapt out of the nursery.
"Blackfoot!" she hissed.
The ShadowClan deputy didn't respond, and Frostfur focused on avenging Rosetail.
And protecting her kits.
Battles weren't supposed to be like this.
They weren't supposed to end with Frostfur returning, blood still covering her, just to reassure them she was alright, only to stare in horror at their empty nest.
Brindleface stammered apologies. She was scouting a safe path to the nursery, she hadn't meant to leave them alone, only—
"It's not your fault, Brindleface," Frostfur said, her heart beating painfully fast. "Battles aren't supposed to be like this."

Hollykit made her first decision about the world early, like most kits:
The world was a loud place.
It didn't start that way, it started silent, and then quiet, but then it was loud.
There were so many cats, always around her, and she missed being alone, in the quiet.
She got used to it, eventually — of course she did — but sometimes it was just exhausting.

"Fireheart said you weren't my mother," Cloudpaw said. He looked up at her, pleading, and she took a breath to steady herself.
"Who nursed you?" she asked.
"You did."
"And who played with you?"
"Fernkit and Ashkit."
"And who do you come to when you have a nightmare?"
He flattened his ears, embarrassed, but still, muttered, "You."
Satisfied, Brindleface leaned down to touch noses. "I didn't give birth to you," she said. "That much is true. But Cloudpaw, that's not what it means to be a mother."
"He said he knows her," Cloudpaw said. "That she's his sister."
"That's what he told us," Brindleface said. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You shouldn't have had to find out from him."
Cloudpaw shifted. "Is it okay if I want to meet her?"
"Of course it is," she said, purring. Brindleface wrapped her tail around him — he'd be too big for that, soon, and she wanted to take advantage of every chance she had — and licked his head. "It's okay if you want to know her."
"I'm not mad at you," he said. "I just...I don't know."
Brindleface sighed. Sometimes, it was easy to forget that Fireheart wasn't Clanborne. But telling a kit they were born to another was the prerogative of the queen, no one else. She had intended on telling him, but not yet.
"It's okay not to know," she said. "I'll always be here for you."
Cloudpaw purred. "Maybe, one day, you two can meet," he said, hesitantly. "If she's nice."
"I'd like that," she said. "If that's what you want."
Heathertail's School for Attractive, Murderous She-Cats
"I call this moon's meeting of the support group for Crowfeather's apprentices to order," Fernstripe said, her voicing bouncing off the walls of the tunnels.
"Say the full title," Heathertail said, flicking her tail.
"Do I have to?"
"It's important," Featherpelt said. "It's part of it."
"I call this moon's meeting of the support group for Crowfeather's unreasonably attractive apprentices to order." Fernstripe's ears folded back. "I don't like calling us that."
Heathertail flicked her tail again. "And how many cats tried to talk to you at the last Gathering?"
Fernstripe looked at her claws.
"That's not fair, Heathertail. You're the only one who can count past four."
"If you have to count past four, you qualify as unreasonably attractive." Heathertail licked her paw. "The sooner you accept what you are, the sooner you can focus on the real mission."
"Killing Crowfeather?" Fernstripe perked up.
"Exactly." Heathertail touched her nose to Fernstripe's shoulder. "There she is. Now, let's go over everyone's attempts for the month."
howling ghosts (they reappear)
Squirrelflight wakes up, and she smells Bramblestar.
Something is wrong; she's not supposed to be here.
What happened? Did she get captured? Did she forget?
Has it all been some kind of terrible dream?
She fights to keep her breathing slow, not wanting to wake him.
"Squirrelflight?" he whispers, and she flinches. "Squirrelflight, it's just me."
Yes, she thinks. That's the problem.
She extracts herself from him slowly, not wanting to look suspicious. His eyes are blinking awake slowly, and he's watching her.
"Where are you going?" he asks. "The sky is still dark."
"Just to the dirtplace," she says, and she slips out of their den.
Stormcloud is sitting vigil, and he doesn't question her when she slips out of the tunnel.
Squirrelflight tries to remember what happened. She had escaped him, hadn't she?
No, she was just in the Dark Forest. She's not there, anymore, she got out, with Bramblestar.
Squirrelflight closes her eyes, her heartbeat slowing. She slips back into their den. Bramblestar has already fallen back asleep, and she takes her place at his side, curling herself into the tightest ball she can.
i saw a face in the window of the house on high
Leafpaw was six moons old the first time she met a cat who wasn't Cinderpelt.
Cinderpelt cared for her in the quiet of their hollow, sweeping herbs out of her reach until she was old enough to understand.
She learned the scent of other cats by the prey she ate, but when she turned six moons, her introduction came time.
"There are so many of them," she whispered.
"I know," Cinderpelt said, her heart wincing. "You don't have to meet them all today," she said. "They just have to meet you."
She sat quietly by Cinderpelt as cat after cat came to greet them. Their names blurred, some appearances hanging to the names Cinderpelt had told her, but others fading.
"I greet you," said a ginger she-cat. "Cinderpelt, and Leafpaw."
"Well-met, Squirrelpaw," Cinderpelt said.

Jaypaw knows he is smaller than his siblings. It's hard to miss. He's not even as tall as Squirrelflight, and barely growing, and Hollypaw and Lionpaw have already surpassed her.
He tries not to let it get to him.
He stops growing first, only a paw's width taller than Squirrelflight. Hollypaw and Lionpaw become warriors, and his whiskers touch their shoulders.
It doesn't bother him like it used to. Hollyleaf and Lionblaze are warriors, and he's just a medicine cat's apprentice, too blind and too helpless to bother teaching to fight properly. He's no longer a part of their life, not in the same way. They don't play fight with him any more, they don't talk to him when they're squabbling over Cinderheart, and he wonders if it will always be this way.
If he will always be Jaypaw, their weaker, smaller, blind baby brother who they need to protect.
(He isn't. He becomes Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf dies, and Lionblaze stops talking to him. He keeps himself up as long as he can, because if he sleeps, it's only going to be worse, giving him a face to curse for granting his wish.)

Palebird was a tunneler.
That meant she built something permanent, something the Clan would rely on for seasons upon seasons, long after Palebird herself had passed on.
You could feel the life of the Clan in the tunnels. It was something the moor runners would never understand, what it meant to build something, to create something.
WindClan has barely any dens on the surface, and their camp had changed locations more than once. A warrior with no appreciation of the tunnels did not understand what it meant to last.
But Palebird did. As did her mother and father, and their parents before them, and so would Palebird's kits.
They would know what it meant to last in a world constantly pushing them forward.

"Congratulations," Crookedjaw said as the sun rose.
Willowbreeze purred. "You woke up at dawn just to break my vigil?"
"Maybe," he said. "But I made you a nest. Come sleep."
She stood, arching her back, and brushing against him as she walked towards his den.
"There's space for me?" she asked.
"Well," Crookedjaw said. "As long as you don't mind sleeping next to me."
Willowbreeze laughed. "Let's go sleep."

For the anon who requested Leafpool x Stormfur for the hypokits, tumblr fumbled your ask so sorry about that!
When I rolled my d4 to determine how many kits to put into this litter, I rolled a 3. So this turned into more of a hypoparents AU than some hypokits. I did make some art though!
Leafpaw takes Squirrelpaw’s place on the journey to the sun-drown-place. She and Stormfur fall for each other as they travel. Feathertail doesn’t die in the mountains, but falls in love with Brook and elects to stay in the mountains when the Clans pass through during the Great Journey. Squirrelflight and Crowfeather spend time with each other on the Great Journey and have a fun fling, but after the WindClan coup, neither is willing to compromise for the relationship, and they messily break up. Leafpool learns she is pregnant, and tells Stormfur; he decides to leave RiverClan and move to ThunderClan. Squirrelflight is also revealed to be pregnant around the same time, and the three decide that Stormfur will move to ThunderClan ‘for Squirrelflight’ and he and Squirrelflight will raise both litters together.
Later, on a cold winter night, Squirrelflight gives birth to Featherkit and Shrewkit, and Leafpool gives birth to Streamkit, Stonekit, and Cinderkit.
Streamfur (Hollyleaf) is a black molly with green eyes. She is one of the Four prophesied cats, with her powers being very spiritual. She is able to see ghosts/spirits, and can visit StarClan at will. She is mentored by Brackenfur.
Stonespark (Lionblaze) is a thick-furred gray tabby with amber eyes. He is one of the Four prophesied cats, with his powers being centered on the physical. He is strong and durable, practically unable to be injured. He is mentored by Ashfur, and later mentors Bumblepaw. He still ends up with Cinderheart.
Cinderwing (Jayfeather) is a pale gray tom with blue eyes. He is one of the Four prophesied cats, with his powers connecting him to the minds of others. He has the ability to enter the emotions, thoughts, and dreams of other cats. He is mentored by Brightheart (with help from Longtail), although gets frustrated with how the Clan at large treats him due to his blindness. He later mentors Blossompaw in both the waking world and the Dark Forest. He and Poppyfrost become mates.
Featherfoot (Dovewing) is a pale ginger molly with green eyes and dark paws. She is one of the Four prophesied cats, with extended senses. She is able to see, hear, and smell things very far away. She is mentored by Sorreltail, and later mentors Briarpaw. She moves to ShadowClan post-OotS to be with Tigerheart.
Shrewfrost (Ivypool) is a gray tabby molly with blue eyes. She is not one of the Four prophesied cats, but she has a connection to the Dark Forest. For a long time she believed them to be StarClan spirits, and became a medicine cat to foster that connection.
A summary of major changed events in Po3 and OotS are below the read more!
Power of Three Four
Streampaw starts as Leafpool’s apprentice (she’s ambitious, and likes the idea of the power and responsibility being a medicine cat will give her, but doesn’t enjoy healing); Shrewpaw starts as Brackenfur’s apprentice (she enjoys warrior training, but is curious about healing, and is being singled out by ‘StarClan Warriors’.)
After Streampaw has a conversation with Brook, who has been staying in ThunderClan with her mate Feathertail, she decides she wants to be a warrior. Shrewpaw has a similar conversation with her mentor Brackenfur about his littermate Cinderpelt, and decides she wants to be a medicine cat. The two soon switch mentors.
Stonepaw and Breezepaw are competing in the Daylight Gathering; Featherpaw hears the collapse, and gets Shrewpaw before leading her - along with Squirrelflight, Leafpool, Crowfeather, and Nightcloud - to where the boys are. Shrewpaw is able to heal them, solidifying herself as a Medicine Cat, but realizes that Featherpaw should not have been able to know about the collapse, and is a bit suspicious of her littermate.
Shrewpaw is told about the prophecy (there will be four, kin of your kin) by a Dark Forest cat; they twist it to demonize the Four
Cinderpaw learns about the prophecy in Firestar’s dreams, and realizes that he is one of the Four.
Stonepaw begins meeting Heatherpaw in the tunnels connecting WindClan and ThunderClan.
Stonepaw and Cinderpaw begin training in the Dark Forest. Stonepaw is convinced to train by the Dark Forest warriors taking advantage of his anger and ambition. Cinderpaw is convinced to train in the Dark Forest due to feeling as though ThunderClan doesn’t take him seriously as a warrior.
After learning that three WindClan kits have gone missing, Stonepaw, Streampaw, and Featherpaw enter the tunnels. Between Featherpaw’s hearing and Stonepaw’s knowledge of the tunnels, they are able to find the kits. Unfortunately, they find the kits at the same time as Breezepaw and Heatherpaw do. The five apprentices must then figure out how to escape the tunnels as the water is rapidly rising. After they escape, Heatherpaw and Stonepaw agree to stop meeting.
Three Tribe cats arrive in ThunderClan to ask Feathertail and Brook to return to the Tribe. Stormfur and Brambleclaw want to journey to aid the Tribe. Leafpool asks that Squirrelflight be sent in her place, since as the only fully trained medicine cat she cannot leave the Clan. Brambleclaw says that Stormfur and Squirrelflgiht’s kits should be able to journey as well; Leafpool agrees. All five apprentices (along with Breezepaw) are sent on the journey. Brambleclaw does some math in his brain while seeing Crowfeather and Stormfur interact with the five apprentices, and figures out what’s happening here, although he does not mention it to anyone.
After the fight with Flick’s Group, Cinderpaw reveals the prophecy to his siblings. Shrewpaw seems shocked, but keeps her concerns about the Four to herself.
When Sol takes over ShadowClan, Shrewpaw encourages a mentality within ThunderClan that ShadowClan doesn’t need aid or rescuing, as they were not strong enough to remain as a Clan. She is neutral on Sol himself, while the other four think he may be the key to understanding the prophecy.
Streampaw, Stonepaw, Cinderpaw, and Featherpaw fake a sign from StarClan with the help of Tigerpaw, Flamepaw, and Dawnpaw. Featherpaw and Tigerpaw notably get along well. They do not include Shrewpaw in their plan due to her being outspoken against aiding ShadowClan.
Cinderwing does some time travel as Cinder’s Glow. Cinder’s Glow has a sibling, Stream’s Flow, that reminds him of Streamfur. Their mother, Feather Fall, looks just like Featherfoot does; their uncle Stone Spark couldn’t be more like Stonespark. He is delighted to learn that reincarnation is real.
Ashfur corners Streamfur, Stonespark, and Cinderwing as they attempt to escape a fire in the ThunderClan camp. Squirrelflight claims she is not their mother in order to allow the three to escape. Cinderwing determines that she’s telling the truth with his powers.
They tell their littermates this immediately.
Streamfur kills Ashfur; Leafpool knows it’s her after finding some of her fur in Ashfur’s claws.
Ashfur haunts Streamfur, taunting her about being a murderer and a mistake.
Stonespark stops training in the Dark Forest, realizing how they are using him and trying to make him worse. He asks Cinderwing to stop training there as well, but Cinderwing believes he can learn the valuable information the Dark Forest warriors have without being corrupted, similar to how smart people get sucked into marketing schemes. Stonespark is frustrated by this, but the two agree not to speak of it.
Shrewfrost, believing they are one litter, determines their mother is Leafpool after investigating some stories about mixed up herbs.
Streamfur confronts Leafpool, thinking she will know who their mother is, and Leafpool confronts Streamfur about killing Ashfur. Leafpool then confesses she is the mother of Streamfur, Stonespark, and Cinderwing, and then reveals that Shrewfrost and Featherfoot are a different litter, and Squirrelflight is their mother.
Featherfoot, horrified, overhears Streamfur and Leafpool’s conversation.
Stonespark and Cinderwing confront Stormfur, thinking they will be revealing information to him, but he confirms that he already knows, and that he is their father.
Before the siblings have a chance to pool their knowledge together, Streamfur reveals that Squirrelflight isn’t their mother at a Gathering, naming Leafpool as their mother. Leafpool steps down from her position, and claims all five kits as her own, attempting to save Squirrelflight from the fallout of having a half-Clan relationship.
Stormfur stands to declare his love for Leafpool and claim all five kits as his as well, standing with his mate.
This throws the Gathering into such chaos that Streamfur can’t reveal Squirrelflight’s part in the deceit, and Streamfur runs away, followed by her littermates and parents.
Ashfur’s ghost disappears now that the secret has been revealed.
Streamfur, chased by Cinderwing, Squirrelflight, Stormfur, and Stonespark, runs into the tunnels. As Stormfur enters the tunnel, the entrance collapses, partially burying Stormfur and leaving Stonespark behind. Streamfur stops running in order to help Squirrelflight and Cinderwing dig him out, and then the four begin to attempt escape. They discuss the truth while they are underground, with Cinderwing and Streamfur learning about Stormfur and Leafpool’s relationship, as well as Squirrelflight and Crowfeather’s relationship. They are led above ground by Fallen Leaves, whom only Streamfur can see. Stormfur learns of Ashfur’s threats to his family.
Above ground, Shrewfrost confronts Leafpool, and tries to force her to eat deathberries; Leafpool refuses, and tries to comfort her apprentice. They are interrupted by Featherfoot, who bursts in with Stonespark to tell them about the tunnel collapse. The four, led by Featherfoot, begin to try and find the other members of their family. As they search, Leafpool tells them about her relationship with Stormfur, as well as Squirrelflight and Crowfeather’s relationship.
Everyone is overjoyed when the tunnel group escapes. The kids reveal their powers and the prophecy to their parents. The siblings are not friendly with their parents, but are trying to be understanding of the difficult decisions their parents had to make.
Omen of the Stars
Featherfoot realizes that the beavers are causing the lake to run dry. In order to convince Firestar that they need to address the problem, she convinces her siblings to come clean to him about being the Prophesied Four.
Feather and Stream go with cats from the other Clans to destroy the dam. Streamfur displays a lot of self-destructive tendencies on the journey, eager to die in service to her Clan. However, Rippletail’s sacrifice hits her hard, and she realizes that she must live with her actions, and work towards being better.
Featherfoot and Tigerheart spend plenty of time reconnecting on the journey, and begin meeting in secret once they return to the Clans.
Poppyfrost, very pregnant with Cinderwing’s kits, decides to sneak out of camp and travel to the Moonpool, as she misses her siblings and wants to see them again.
Streamfur follows her, arriving in time to save her from an attack by Breezepelt. Streamfur then realizes she is also fighting a ghostly Brokenstar, but thankfully a ghostly Honeyfern helps even the odds. Cinderwing is so stressed when they return to camp.
Tigerheart is revealed to also be training in the Dark Forest. Cinderwing’s apprentice Blossompaw is brought into the night training as well, and Cinderwing does what he can to aid her.
StarClan calls for the medicine cats to be separated; the Dark Forest encourages this for Shrewfrost, saying that they will guide her. She realizes that she is not meeting with StarClan, but believes the spirits to be helpful and have the Clans’ best interests at heart.
Featherfoot hears a tree begin falling into the camp. She is able to warn the Clan in time for the camp to be evacuated, but her apprentice, Briarpaw, re-enters camp with Longtail. She is horrified when Longtail dies and Briarpaw is injured by the tree finally falling into camp, feeling as though she should have been able to prevent it. She is a strong supporter of her former apprentice.
Shrewfrost is told by the Dark Forest that ShadowClan is looking to gain ThunderClan’s land; she lies to Firestar about having a dream indicating they must attack. Firestar reluctantly agrees.
During the ensuing battle, Stonespark accidentally kills the elderly Russetfur while protecting Firestar. Stonespark is shocked and horrified, and Shrewfrost, looking upon the carnage on the battlefield, realizes that she is communicating with the Dark Forest, and they are angling for the destruction of the Clans.
While playing games on the frozen lake, Flametail falls through the ice. Streamfur does everything she can to save him, but is unsuccessful. Flametail then begins haunting her, with both of them being unsure as to why he cannot enter StarClan.
Cinderwing and Stonespark journey to the Tribe in order for Cinderwing to investigate strange dreams he’s been having of Cinder’s Glow. While in the past, Cinder’s Glow is introduced to his new cousin, Shrew Foot, who reminds him of Shrewfrost. Stonespark is able to find a bit of peace with Russetfur’s death during his time in the mountains. Leafpool and Stormfur join them, and must endure Feathertail teasing them the entire duration of their stay.
Cinderwing learns that there will be a Fifth cat. When he returns and tells his siblings, they all believe this cat to be Shrewfrost, despite her insistence that she isn’t.
Streamfur realizes that the reason Flametail cannot get into StarClan is that because it's so divided it is beginning to decay. She enters StarClan and manages to drag Flametail in behind her, and the two set about uniting StarClan.
Cinderwing realizes that the Dark Forest is amassing an army of living cats; he realizes that he was tricked into this, and begins spying on the Dark Forest.
Featherfoot realizes that the strange whispers she has been hearing are WindClan cats in the tunnels, working with Sol to attack ThunderClan. ThunderClan begins preparing to fight back, with Cinderwing helping to train the other warriors to fight in the darkness of the tunnels.
As a test of his loyalty to the Dark Forest, Cinderwing is told to kill the WindClan cat Antpelt. In order to be able to continue spying - and to avoid being killed himself - he complies.
Shrewfrost comes clean to her siblings about being misled by the Dark Forest. Stonespark comforts her, and tells her that as an apprentice he was also misled by the Dark Forest. He glares at Cinderwing until he also reveals that he also was being misled by the Dark Forest. The two are loved and supported by their siblings.
Streamfur isn’t killed during the Final Battle.
Featherfoot moves to ShadowClan to be with Tigerheart with her parents’ blessing.
Leafpool returns to her position, and begins a campaign to remove the rule that medicine cats can’t have mates, with Shrewfrost’s support.

My Allegiances - Before the Start
These are the allegiances of the clans before the start of my “Generations” allegiances! Mainly known as “Sparrowdawn’s generation” in my head and "Generations Reversed" in my notes XD Might not be 100% right timewise.
Tumblr media
ThunderClan:
Poppystar is current leader of ThunderClan. She is the mother to Hollystripe, and mates with Hazeldust, a blind tom who has since retired to the elder’s den alongside his sister, Tigerstripe. Bluetail is another elder, the father of Spiketail, who is the mother of Amberheart and Archflight, the newly made warriors. Hollystripe is currently a queen, mother to Shiningblaze’s kits, Cloudykit and Harekit. Shiningblaze is the brother to Sorrelfoot, and they are the kits of Sweetcloud and Furzepelt, who is the clan deputy. Smokeface is the mother of Snowpaw, who is mentored by Sweetcloud, and Sootpaw, by Robinface. Robinface is the mother of Mousepaw, who is mentored by Spiketail, and Leafpaw, who is mentored by Sorrelfoot. Nutpaw is mentored by Furzestep, and Boulderpaw, secret son of Thistlesong of SkyClan and Driftleap of WindClan, by Smokeface.
Nutpaw and Boulderpaw grew up close together like brothers, as they were both orphans. Nutpaw’s parents ran away to explore the world, and Boulderpaw was found as what ThunderClan assumed to be a loner’s abandoned kit. Leafpaw eventually gets her medicine cat name, Leafpuddle, but she dies before the start of the first generations allegiances.
Tumblr media
ShadowClan:
Frecklestar is current leader of ShadowClan, and the mother of Sagepaw, mentored by Quailfoot, Haypaw, by Cloudtuft, and Cloverpaw, by Spottedjay. Dewfeather is current deputy, and mates with Tansyleg, Stumpywhisker and Bumblebranch, who are the children of Strongbreeze, a warrior, and Paletalon, the youngest elder. Bumblebranch was the medicine cat apprentice under Hawkhollow. Hawkhollow is the brother of Quailfoot, and they are the offspring of Beetlespots and Cloudtuft. Cloudtuft is the brother to Morningcloud, and they are the kits of Silverspring and Brownpetal, who are both elders. Strongbreeze and Spottedjay are sisters, and their father is Windclaw, a tom who’s father was in WindClan and mother was in ShadowClan, giving them WindClan blood. Twigclaw is a queen, and nursing her sons, Flowerkit and Sneezekit. Sparrowpaw, mentored by Strongbreeze, is the daughter of Quailfoot and Deerflame, a former kittypet. Ashpaw, the secret son of Thistlesong of SkyClan and Driftleap of WindClan, is mentored by Morningcloud.
Tansyleg and Stumpywhisker are the newest warriors. Sneezekit and Flowerkit are close to becoming apprentices. Ashpaw and Sparrowpaw are close friends with crushes on each other. Morningcloud knows that Ashpaw is Thistlesong's. He dotes over him a lot. Morningcloud wants to go to SkyClan to be with his kits but Thistlesong refuses to let him.
Tumblr media
WindClan:
The current leader of WindClan is Scorchstar, mate to Finchstem and mother to Leafsong. Finchstem is brothers with Lynxeyes, the clan medicine cat, and they are the children of Maplestream and Snowbee. Leafsong is mates with Cherrywhisper, and they are both the newest warriors. Tawnyswipe is expecting Russetspring's kits. Tawnyswipe is littermates with Fleetwhisker, and they are the kits of Nettlemoon and Blacksnarl. Blacksnarl also has a daughter named Rosepaw, mentored by Snowbee. Driftleap and Russetspring are the sons of Lilyleap (deceased; in StarClan) and Strikeheart, an elder. The other elder is a former loner who had a lone kit and seeked refuge in WindClan. Her name is Pool, and her son is Ferretpaw, mentored by Blacksnarl. Gravelpaw, mentored by Finchstem, is the secret son of Driftleap and Thistlesong of SkyClan.
Gravelpaw, Ferretpaw and Rosepaw are all very close as single, lone kits. Rosepaw never knew her mother, but it was always assumed her mother was a loner or kittypet.
Tumblr media
RiverClan:
Goosestar is the current leader of RiverClan, and the father to Waterstream, who's mother is Thistlesong of SkyClan. Waterstream was made a warrior early, and is currently mentoring Heronpaw, brother to Beechpaw, mentored by Coldsnow, and Mistyleap. They are the kits of Shadesun and Scorchfin. Waterstream's mentor was Sunthroat, who is the brother of Stormbird and the son of Violetwhisker, one of the elders. Hailfrost is the medicine cat, and she is sisters with Oatheart, and they are the daughters of Clawmoon (deceased; in neither StarClan or Dark Forest). Coldsnow and Mumblesong are mates. Goldenmask and Dawnstripe are sisters, and daughters of Forestpelt, the deputy. Muddyfeather recently retired to the elders' den. Her daughter is Minkpaw, mentored by Dawnstripe.
Goosestar eventually forces Forestpelt to retire to the elders' den and makes Waterstream his deputy.
Tumblr media
SkyClan:
Sharpstar is current leader of SkyClan. She took over once her mate, Pouncestar, died. They are the parents of Thistlesong, who is currently nursing Shadekit and Silverkit, daughters of Morningcloud, but she is also the mother to Waterstream, daughter of Goosestar, Gravelpaw, Boulderpaw and Ashpaw, sons of Driftleap. Honeysplash is current deputy, and sisters to Thrushleaf, clan medicine cat. They are the daughters of Bristlelight (deceased; StarClan). Acornleaf is mates with Auburnheart (deceased; StarClan), and mother to Fuzzybird and Bramblespeck. Bramblespeck is mates with Littlestep. Rainwish and Berryleaf, clan elders, are the parents of Coilspring and Plumheart. Coilspring is the father of Daisypaw, mentored by Acornleaf, and Lichenpaw, by Fevernose. Fevernose is the father of Seedpaw, mentored by Honeysplash.
Sharpstar is suspicious of Thistlesong. Her previous litters had "died", and she now has a third. No one knows who the father(s) is/are. Thrushleaf fiercely defends Thistlesong. The apprentices, Daisypaw, Lichenpaw and Seedpaw, are all close to one another.
