Memoria
FFXIV Garlean OC
TW: referenced war, death
Spoilers: 6.x+
It was just before dawn when Rhela halted her bike just past the gates of Camp Bluefog. She sighed and shut the engine off, sitting back in the saddle slightly as she pulled out her tobacco pouch and used the tank in front of her as a table to roll a cigarette. The sun would take hours to break through the ambient fog, if it did at all. One foot balanced on the ground, holding up the weight of the massive motorcycle, and the other rested on the opposite foot peg. She sparked her lighter and cupped a wrapped hand around the flame as she brought it up to the roll between her lips.
Peistes and who knew what all else moved in the darkness beyond the gate lamps as she stared down the road at the faint glow of the ceruleum plant. Not for the first time, she considered turning back and going up to Mor Dhona first. Picking up a drink for herself, maybe spending the night there before making another attempt at the Castrum tomorrow.
Rhela took a slow drag, squinting through the scrim of smoke as she exhaled. It was a bad time to be doing this trip at all, with her mental state being what it was. But she’d planned it before everything had gone to shit. She pulled her tomestone out and clicked the screen on, not surprised to see no new messages. Anyone who might reach out was either drunk or had already gone to sleep. Delaying another day to spend the night in Mor Dhona wouldn’t make things any better. She pocketed the device again and kept staring into the murky darkness as she smoked.
Behind her, bells sounded the guard change. Once upon a time, this had been a strategically significant post. Now, it was just a sleepy little camp on the way to somewhere else.
“That time again?,” a familiar voice called out from the top of the wall.
“Aye,” Rhela called back, exhaling smoke into the fog.
“New bike?”
“Starlight gift.”
The guard whose name she had never bothered to learn whistled. “Must be someone special.” Rhela chuckled and shook her head. “We’ve been getting more reports of Ahriman. Watch yourself out there.”
She flicked her cigarette away. “Always do.” She hopped up to kick the engine over, and everything else was lost under the roar as she sped off once again.
—
Castrum Meridianum loomed large overhead as Rhela pushed her bike behind a long-abandoned barricade and threw the cover over it. The outer walls looked as sturdy as ever — a bastion of the Empire, of the XIVth Legion. Both long dead. She made her slow way up the last part of the hill to the remains of the cairn she’d built the last time. Someone had knocked it down again. Every time. For all she knew, it was the guard at Bluefog.
Seventy nine stones.
It took Rhela most of the morning to collect them again, and stack them back into the rough pyramid she’d fashioned the first year.
Seventy nine names.
She remembered them all. Garleans and Ala Mhigans, mostly. A few from the far flung provinces of the Empire. Sons and daughters and orphans. Fathers. Friends. Lovers. Brothers, to each other.
Seventy nine lives.
Titus’s men. And then her men, however briefly. So many lives were lost that day, but these. These were hers. And she had failed them all. Rhela knelt before the insufficient memorial in silence.
Eventually, she pulled her flask from her hip and uncapped it, dumping a bit over the stones. Tapped the container on the ground before taking a drink.
“Just one, this time.” She smiled and screwed the top shut before tucking the flask away again. “Sure isn’t the future we imagined, is it? But… I’m still here. World’s changing so fast, people are moving on. Heard the other day that what’s left of the senate made a trade agreement with Radz-at-Han. Guess the world almost ending puts things in perspective.”
Rhela sat back and rolled another cigarette, lighting it and smoking in silence after. More words would come eventually. Or they wouldn’t. She doubted the dead minded much, either way.

6 - the new student who wants to learn (6)
The greenhouse at the Silver Millennium is a magical and exuberant environment, where mystical plants bloom in a profusion of colors and enchanting aromas. It's an open space, bathed in soft, diffused light that penetrates through enchanted crystals in the ceiling, creating an ethereal glow.
The walls are lined with magical vines, which intertwine to form a living tapestry of lush foliage. Exotic and resplendent flowers are arranged in flower beds and hanging vases, filling the air with their delicate and enveloping fragrances.
Organized into themed sections, each housing a specific variety of mystical plants. There is a corner dedicated to the luminescent flowers, whose petals glow in vibrant colors, creating a dancing light show. Another is reserved for climbing plants, which intertwine around ancient wooden structures, forming tunnels and sinuous arches, and another for a small laboratory for Alchemy practices, with stone cauldrons and test tubes, where fairies, witches, druids and sorcerers of the Lunarosian elite gather to create potions of various kinds, whether to heal wounds or to enhance spells.
The soil is rich and fertile, covered with a thin layer of emerald moss that contrasts with the vivid colors of the flowers. Streams and fountains of crystal clear water gently bubble, providing a moist environment conducive to healthy plant growth.
Small magical beings, such as pixies and elves, can be seen among the plants, tending and interacting with the mystical flora. Enchanted birds soar gracefully in the air, while iridescent butterflies flutter from flower to flower, as if dancing to an invisible melody.
In the greenhouse, the air is impregnated with a mystical and calming energy, providing a haven of peace and harmony for those who seek connection with nature and its magic. It is a true botanical treasure, where enchantment and beauty intertwine in perfect harmony.
In it, Viken is teaching his Mystic Botany class to Y/N, teaching about the Flora Memoria, magical jeweled flowers, were in full bloom, each radiant petal holding precious memories. The druid led her Mystic Botany class, enthralling her with his stories and knowledge of magical plants. His eyes lit up upon hearing about the Flora Memoria. She has always been fascinated by magic and the connection between plants and memories.
While Viken was explaining about the mystical properties of flowers, he approached a Forget Me Not Tourmaline. She felt a magnetic pull to the flower, its petals glowing with a mesmerizing tourmaline hue. The flower exuded a mesmerizing aura, and she felt an inexplicable connection with that floral jewel. Curious, she reached out to touch its petals, its texture is smooth and velvety, which invites you to touch it and explore its magic. Forget Me Not Tourmaline is a rare and exuberant species of Memory Flora, with a unique and enchanting beauty. Its petals, instead of having the characteristic pink tone of Forget-Me-Nots, are composed of a Pink Tourmaline, giving it a dazzling appearance.
Each petal is a delicate translucent pink, radiating a softness that captivates all eyes. The Pink Tourmaline that composes it adds a depth of color, creating soft nuances that vary from a soft and delicate pink to deeper and more intense tones.
The center of the flower is composed of a small bud, with petals not yet opened, which keeps the mana of memories inside. This button seems to glow subtly, emitting a soft and mysterious light. When it is in full bloom, its beauty is truly incomparable. She is a floral jewel of rare elegance, wrapped in a captivating mystery.
In his mocking way, he interrupted the class when he noticed her attraction to instigate the flower.
"Well, Y/N, it seems like you can't resist the flower's call, right?" he teased with a playful smile on his face."Why don't you touch the flower? You never know what kind of memory it might unlock."
She looked at him, half-embarrassed and rolled her eyes, but remained curious to find out what the flower might reveal. She knew that unlocking a memory with a flora was a unique and exciting experience. She reached out and gently touched the flower's glittering petals. Suddenly, her eyes glowed platinum blue and a flood of memories flooded her mind. In her mind, the smooth texture of Forget-Me-Not was replaced by the touch of delicate feet under the grass.
She was walking through a field of flowers, where the bright petals were made of glittering gems. Each flower was a small work of art, a magical fusion between nature and the richness of the gems.
The sun was shining brightly, illuminating the field with its golden rays, creating a show of vibrant, sparkling colors. She could feel the soft touch of jeweled petals under her bare feet as she walked gracefully.
From afar, she spotted a tall, eloquent young man with sun-kissed skin waiting for her with a charming smile on his face. His copper red hair seemed to mix with the flames of passion that radiated from her heart. She ran towards him, laughing happily. With each step, the flowers glowed even more brightly, reflecting the love and admiration she felt for the man who occupied her heart.
As they played in the field of flowers, she felt the boy's strong and welcoming hands holding hers. Her eyes met in a gaze full of promise and tenderness, as if the whole world disappeared around them, but when her mind finally recognized the face that made her heart race wildly, her smile and her illusion disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Surprised for her friend's reaction, he asked:
"Apparently you remembered something intriguing! What did you see?"
Still dazed and hurt by the memory suddenly unlocked, she looked away, blocking the druid from seeing the tears that threatened to fall from her face.
"It's nothing, really. Just a vague memory."
Understanding that she preferred to keep her secret, he decided not to press her further. He knew that each person had their stories and choices to make about what to share.
"Fine. If you prefer to keep your memory to yourself, be my guest. But if you ever want to share it, let me know!"
And so the class continued with more exploration of Floras Memorias and other jeweled flowers. Y/N was still in shock but conflicted with her feelings. She was sure that she met that man in her dreams, but she didn't know why she had these dreams, so when the druid turned his back, she took the Forget-Me-Not Tourmaline to investigate alone if the dreams are connected to her past life, or if they are nothing more than just a dream, but a wave of stunning psychic energy prevented her from leaving. Hearing his grunt of pain, he came running back in the blink of an eye.
"Y/N, are you okay? What's happening?"
"It's my mom, I mean, Queen Selene! She's in trouble!"
"Then go help her!"
"I can't. Selene ordered you to stay here to train me!"
"And now? What do we do?"
"What do you mean?"
"You are a queen in training. In Selene's absence you are the one who makes the decisions in extraordinary situations! What shall we do?
All beings born with the Silver Sister's mana, or those who received a part of her mana as a gift in ascension rituals, have a telepathic link with each other, but in the case of Lunaris queens, this power goes further, as they can each other's blessing to offer a part of their power and that was exactly what was happening at that moment. With her special spell, Supplication of the Full Moon, Selene emanated waves of silver mana that inhibited the shadows' attacks, while she pleaded for her daughter's blessing.
However, she still doesn't conform as Dalia's reincarnation, because she feared that if one day she took over, everyone would stop treating her like the trainee she once was, to deify her as a pure, flawless and superior being and she doesn't want that for her life. But now that the responsibilities the princess once had called to her, she has no choice but to fulfill them.
"Right," she sighed. "Send Soule and Eugene to El Dourado. You, Avys and Taho stay here to protect the palace in case the enemy reaches us."
"That's the spirit, girl! You can count on us!"

In the vast Solarian skies, an epic aerial battle is about to begin. To prevent them from escaping with their lives, Melinoe with her shadow magic, changed the shape of her shadows, giving them solid and sharp wings, with malachite on their tips, but Nephrite, accompanied by her followers, ride a majestic Solari Sunhawk, golden wings glistening in sunlight. At her command, the army of Sunhawks emerges from the clouds, their blazing flames dispelling the flying shadows that threaten their journey towards the Golden Temple.
While the Solarian healers channel their energy to incinerate the shadows, the Sunhawk unleashes mighty jets of solar mana, stunning and scattering dark creatures that dare approach. The sounds of flapping wings and the crackle of fire fill the air as Nephrite leads the charge towards the horizon.
With every agile zigzag and daring dive, she dodges the attacks of the remaining shadows, showing unrivaled dexterity in her driving. Her firm and determined look reflects the confidence of someone who is willing to overcome any obstacle to guarantee Diana's cure.
"Hang in there, Scorn of the Moon, we're almost there." said Nephrite, staring at Diana's body with a hopeful gleam.

Embraced by the tension of the impending battle, Selene prepares to face Melinoe's final blow. Her dark powers intensify dangerously and grow before her pale fingers. However, before the attack can be launched, Eugene, in a quick and precise movement, teleports himself in front of Selene thanks to a portal opened by Soule and Eugene raising his magic sword to nullify the power of the shadows.
Selene, surprised and relieved to see them there, couldn't help but question her reason for being there. However, before they can respond, determination fills their eyes and the battle intensifies.
Soule, wielding his magic bow and arrows and guided by his vision of the future, fires fiery arrows at Melinoe, weakening her dark defenses. Eugene, skilled with his magic sword, charges at the Shadow's Caller, delivering precise and powerful blows.
Selene, steped in the strength of the Moon, unleashes her Lunar powers, channeling them to face Melinoe with all her determination. Together, they form a formidable trio, fighting with synchronicity and courage.
The battle rages on, the combatants' agile, graceful movements intertwined with Melinoe's dark attacks. In an epic clash, the power of light and justice finally prevails over the shadows of darkness.
With a combination of strategy, skill, and courage, the trio defeats Melinoe, weakening her and returning her to the dark realm she came from. Victory is celebrated amidst an aura of triumph and relief.
Taking a deep breath, Selene, Eugene and Soule share a meaningful look, and begin to exchange a few words.
"Gentlemen? How didst thou arrive...?"
"Long history, your highness. But what we can say is that Y/N sent us to save you." answered Soule
"Impossible! I refuse to acknowledge that thou hast sent that imposter, who stole the life of my daughter, to save my own life!"
"But, Your Majesty…"
"Forget it, Eugene. Let's just go back to the palace and rest."
"Come with us, Your Highness!" asked Eugene
"Nay! I shall not go anywhere without my mother!"
Despite having exchanged a few words, they understand that their paths are intertwined in a shared destiny and that their union is fundamental to face the challenges that lie ahead.
Together, Eugene and Soule return to the Silver Millennium and Selene rides a solari sunhawk to find her mother, ready to face the obstacles ahead. Their victory over Melinoe spurs them on to keep fighting for justice, protecting their kingdom and those they love.

The Golden Temple of Yi, standing majestically in El Dorado, is an impressive architectural marvel that reflects the grandeur and devotion to the Sun of Elysium. Its imposing, meticulously designed structure exudes an aura of divine splendor and mysticism.
With caution and determination, Nefrite and her healers enter the majestic Yi's Golden Temple, carrying Diana in her arms. In respect and reverence to the mighty sun, all bow in solemn worship before proceeding.
The massive entry gates are adorned with gilded inlays and carvings, depicting the legends and heroic deeds of all the kings and queens who have taken the throne of the Solari. As one passes through the gates, a wide and majestic avenue leads to the heart of the temple, lined with stone lion statues, symbols of power and protection.
The outer walls of the temple are covered with white marble panels, skillfully carved with mythological scenes and episodes from the history of El Dourado. Statues of solar gods and goddesses adorn the facades, radiating a divine presence and conveying a sense of serenity and respect.
Upon entering the central courtyard, a large marble square reveals itself, bathed in sunlight that penetrates through an intricate ceiling of colored stained glass, creating a spectacle of colors that dance across the floor and walls. In the center of the square, a fountain of crystalline water flows, representing the purity and vitality brought by the sun.
At the heart of the temple stands the main sanctuary, an imposing multi-story building adorned with gold and precious stones. The facade is carved with divine figures intertwined in intricate patterns, while large ebony doors, studded with imperial topazes, guard the sacred interior.
In the center of the shrine, an immense golden altar stands, adorned with jewels and solar symbols. There the sacred fire burns constantly, representing the eternal flame of life and solar power. The aura of mystical energy envelops the environment, creating an atmosphere of devotion and spiritual connection. Before the imposing statue of Leona, the last Solari queen, Nefrite gently deposits the injured marshal, carefully positioning her. The sacred environment seems to pulsate with solar energy, as if the sun itself were present.
The side aisles of the temple house smaller chambers dedicated to different solar deities and revered saints. Each of these chambers is richly decorated with paintings, tapestries and sculptures, telling stories and legends related to their respective divine beings.
By pooling their powers and knowledge, healers channel powerful solar magic, gathering the mana of each of them. The imperial topaz on Leona's Zenith Sword reflects and amplifies the sun's glare, opening the roof of the temple, allowing the rays of the setting sun to illuminate the healers' scepters, reflecting their light onto Diana's inert body.
An aura of solar energy fills the room, enveloping the marshal as the sun's healing light penetrates her being. Gradually, solar magic begins to work, revitalizing every damaged cell and tissue.
As the miraculous ritual unfolds, Selene, disembarking from her solari sunhawk, approaches the spot with anxious and emotional steps. Her eyes shine with tears of relief and gratitude as she witnesses her mother's healing before her eyes.
"Mama!"
"Daughter!"
With a smile of happiness and relief, Selene throws herself into Diana's arms, hugging her tightly. Tears stream down her face, mixing with the overflowing joy.
In the Golden Temple, the power of the sun and the healing magic of solar healers came together in a moment of redemption. Diana, now healed, returns to life, bringing hope and renewal to Selene and all those who love her.
The sacred environment echoes with an aura of triumph and gratitude as mother and daughter embrace, strengthening their bond and reaffirming their purpose to protect and guide the realm of Solaria.
In this moment of union and rebirth, the temple bears witness to the unshakable power of the sun and the strength of motherly love, signaling a new chapter in Selene and Diana's journey, as they return together to the Silver Millennium, ready to face the challenges ahead with courage and determination.
A/N: If the moon can have its lore, why can't the sun, too?
