Alright! Tier list of how likely are hpma characters of becoming dateable ( if we ever get the romance option)

Ok so here´s the list in question and my absolutely undenyable scientific reasonings behind each placement. ( /j, I understand my logic ain´t perfect so feel free to disagree)

IT´S GONNA BE VERY LONG SO BEWARE

Very likely tier

aka these characters are pretty much guaranteed to become an option or at least have a really high chance (85-100%)

Daniel: I think this one is like,,,out of question lmao. It´s pretty obvious that if you could date somebody in this game, he would be an option. First and foremost, he´s the only male companion available in the game rn, making him the most fitting male character for this role and you can´t make a romance option with no boys like cmon. Second, he´s one of the most prominent characters in a storyline and is pretty much considered to be one of mc´s closest friends along with Ivy and y´know how it goes. Also, we can take into consideration the "favoritism advantage", as in it´s pretty obvious he along with Cass is the most beloved character by the fandom and I believe it is something you as a dev should take into consideration when making a romance option.

Ivy: pretty much many of the same logic used for Daniel is applied here. She´s tecnically our first friend in the game, she´s one of mc´s closest friends and she is one of the more prominent characters in the story (she, mc and Daniel are at this point the "main trio" of the game), making her the most likely female character to be available as an option. I would say she doesn´t have a really strong "favoritism advantage" as there are less fans liking her than Daniel and Cassandra, but there are some people who seem to like and favor her and tbh I feel like it wouldn´t really affect the decision behind making her an option.

Cassandra: as much as she is supposed to be our "rival" in the game, first of all, Merula from HPHM exists. Second, we still have like, 5 more years (well, 4 tecnically, but you get the point), so there could be a possible chance of her either redeeming herself to some degree or just becoming less antagonistic towards mc. And it´s not like she hates the mc either, I feel like she actually kinda enjoys their company, just has troubles admitting her liking to us. Plus it´s not like dating a "rival character" is something new. But even if we forget about the whole "she´s supposed to be our rival" shtick, she is just a really good option for the romance. AS MUCH AS I HATE GOING OFF VIBES, she really does give of the dateable vibe, sorry. Not to mention the "favoritism advantage" not only from the fans but the developers as well. I would say that given everything, she most likely would be a lot harder to rizz up than Daniel and Ivy, in a sense that it would probably be more time consuming to get her to date us, but I feel like it would be a rather rewarding in the end of a day.

Pretty likely

aka there´s a possibility they won´t be available as an option, but given everything they have a high chance of actually being one (60-84%)

Lottie: I feel like out of the rest of the cast we have, Lottie is the most likely to be dateable, although she´s only availbale as a dancing companion at this moment (hope they fix that fr). The chances are a lot less than the three characters from above, with her not being a very prominent character in the story besides Year 2 and her not having a lot of fans but I feel like she does have a certain probability of being chosen for the role, especially since the more option there are the better. Right??? (she deserves more love btw)

Uhh

aka I have no idea at this point, it really depends (50%)

Colby and Fischer aka Frey twins: I´m gonna be real with you, when I first made this tier list, I had put them in a "unlikely" tier, below Kevin and Robyn, because I felt like given everything the chances were very low. They are not available as companions, they are highly implied to have some of crush on Cassandra and they don´t have a strong "favoritism advantage" even from the devs themselves (this mostly applies to japanese and korean twitter accounts for the game, which "forgot" to post their character cards (you probably know which ones I´m talking about) which contained character description, concept art and voice actors listed (as I do know that along with character from "very likely" tier they were the only ones who had their character description uploaded to the official site, at least in english,so perhaps this point is sorta weak in that regard). But the more I though about it, the more I realised they do have certain probability. Or shall I say, one of them. Yes, I feel like there´s a chance that we could potentially date one of the twins,as in only one of them. Which one is most likely to be dateable? At this point I have no idea, but my bet´s on Colby. That being said, the only possible logical explanation I could give is "we need more than one male option available" and Kevin isn´t likely to be one, so the Freys, especially Colby are the most likely contendants for it. But other than that, it´s just a vibe and gut feeling thing, which is not a very good argument material.

Most likely not

aka the chances are below 50%. It´s not completely out of the question, but I´d say the chances are very low albeit not non existent.

Robyn: in spite of her being a companion character for every game mode except dancing and having certain favoritism advantage, let´s be real here, the affection system behind her is probably only designed to buff her specific character desks. But yeah, girl´s got a crush on Kevin, pretty obvious one at that, so she probably won´t be a dating option. Also a gut feeling moment, I feel like at some point in the story Robyn and Kevin will date eventually, but again, it is a gut feeling, so it´s not an argument material, but yeah.

Kevin: same logic as behind Robyn except he´s not even a companion character so the chances are even lower kfdvjhkfdvjkhl

2023 - A Roundup

How fast the year has gone. I feel like it's been only yesterday that 2023 stepped on stage, and now, the curtain is falling on it already, with 2024 waiting in the wings.

It has grown quiet here this year. In the fandom, on my blog, on my online presence. There's multiple reasons for that - some personal, some life-related, some people-related, but with the prospect of a fresh new year on the horizon, all these things are either something I intend to embrace more fully or leave behind for good.

Looking at my history of 2021 and 2022, 2023 was the sparsest one on the writing front up to date, and here, too, are several very different reasons for this. I've written little this year, and published even less, and yet, I feel like I have grown more into myself as a writer than ever before. A lot of projects I had in the pipeline got scrapped, or converted, or pulled from public access to become a better version of themselves.

If you are interested in what has become of projects that I may have mentioned or worked on in the past, here's an itemised list of 30 years of what my future plans are (with major tbc because, have you ever even talked to me?)

HPHL era:

A Lifetime of Adventures - Selene's story What was meant to be an antology of several many stories is still an an antology but greatly reduced in both numbers, cast and things it covers. It will still span from Selene's first year at Hogwarts to her last, with an aimed at one story per year (which you fully know will not work, but hey). Parts of it are already written and published as independent shorts, others are unpublished and yes, it will still be happening. As for the parts detailing Selene's later life... that remains to be seen. There's a lot Selene has to tell but she and I need to sit and see if these stories are for me only, or if she wants to share them with the world.

Smoke and Mirrors - Caro's story With Brady going his own way in the Pendleton Tradition (you GO @kc-the-writer), Caro has decided that she can do what Brady can do because duh. Smoke and Mirrors is no longer a fanfic/fandom story but a very much unfinished rough draft that will probably turn out to be an original novella set in modern day NYC about a young med student and the pressure of expectations and self-imposed perfectionism. I wonder where I've heard that before.

Henry's story Despite being my resident book-character, Henry never asked me of a story of his own. Everything I still have in store for him revolves around either Selene or Caitlin and if he lets me into his head (which has always been an incredible but rare thing) it would be as unrelated shorts. In all honesty, I don't think it's likely that they will come into existence outside of my drafts, though.

Caitlin's story There is a potential novella about Caitlin's way to become a healer in my head which is too bittersweet for me to let go of just yet because not only would it give her some room to shine but also gives closure to two other characters very dear to me (and honestly, reading the draft makes me choke up, so there's that). I would prefer this as an original novella, but seeing as some of it would lose impact without the knowing the characters involved... I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet.

HPHM era:

A Source of Balance My baby, my joy, essence of my sleepless nights (and not in a good way). The third part of the Balance series is 100 % going to happen and 100 % happening on this blog. Apart from details I will figure out as I go, the whole story is planned in my usual over-planning style and I'm honestly just waiting for brainspace to clear up and the blank page to become less scary. It may take a while to get the complexity of it right but... watch this space.

Larger than Life My other baby, my heartbreak, my... yeah. Larger than Life has always been different, Ava has always been different, this whole project has been... different. Because of various issues, I've decided to remove this project from my fandom rota for good. It will still happen, my heart is too firmly set on it, but it will be as an original project over on @kaze-writes and will be a sweet while until I'm able to sort out the problems that comes from uprooting it. But all in all, I am very much happy with the decision I've finally come to with this.

When Stars Ignite When Stars Ignite has been removed from all my writing platforms as it is still under re-construction, and probably will be for another sweet while. This story has fully left any fandom connections behind and has turned into my (and @alyslaskeywriter) first full-length novel (mine, that is, Alys is miles head of me with her incredible book The Chief, which you really should check out bc oh my). My lose intention is to maybe query it for publishing at some point in the future, so I wouldn't hold my breath for its return to online spaces.

HPMA era:

New Horizons - Reva's story Reva's rise and fall from grace and her journey to herself has never really been a fandom thing and will become an original novel once I figure out how to research faraway travel destinations without drowning in wanderlust. It may take a while.

A Bright Future - Dana's and Dylan's story The story of Dylan and Dana is still up for debate in my head. There's days when I want to continue with this as a fandom project as intended, and there's others when an original friends-to-lovers romcom is begging me to have my way with it. The outcome remains to be seen.

Shorts:

All shorts directly associated with stories that have moved to the original side of my writing will follow suit. Everything else I have written or drafted up will remain here, or be posted on my original blog and reblogged to here in case there wouldn't have been a difference anyway.

Original:

All original works you have heard me speak about (namely, Lemons, Icarus, Memento Mori and That Fantasy Thing That Is Going To Drive Me Insane Before Long are still all in development and not yet ready to be written. But we're getting there. Somehow.

So, if any of the stories you have been waiting for or thought I had promised but forgotten them isn't on that list, do feel free to ask! I love talking to people and I've not been good at it this year. I miss the creative core of this community, and getting to see other people's projects unfold and grow from idea to reality. If you want creative exchange, I beg you, this is always a place for it.

In that regards, my favourite peeps, I wish you a very happy end to 2023 and a creative, peaceful and - naturally - balanced start into 2024.

wow i can’t believe merula’s been lying for possibly years. she’s lying about when she joined r either way, i thought she was meant to be an atrocious liar. but apparently she’s really refined her skills. :/

Oh anon, I know what you mean. That was the number one reason (Well, apart from bias for my favorite character and faith in her) that I thought she couldn't be the Hogwarts Mole, back when the fandom and characters were speculating on who it could be. As I recall, the main suspects people considered were Ben, Alanza, and Merula. But with how Merula was shown to be a pitiful liar, something characters even acknowledge in the dialogue, I figured there was no way she'd be The Mole, that she would have given herself away.

The thing is, though, she did. She totally did give herself away, several times. She just couldn't resist bragging about knowing inside information, nor was she especially stealthy in the constant monitoring of MC. Can't speak for everyone of course, but I think most of us just considered her harmless, if annoying, and didn't believe any of her claims that she knew more about what was going on. In hindsight, she was serious about basically all of it.

I'm not saying that Merula will always be caught in a lie if she tries to tell one, but the more I think about it, the more I don't think she's secretly a brilliant liar or anything. The only time I can think of that would demonstrate this is the Veritaserum scene just before The Sunken Vault - and she didn't even really lie, per se, in that scene. Just manipulated the hell out of MC, playing upon their perception of her. True, there are moments where she really sells herself as being against R...except, it's more like she sells herself as being against Rakepick, and I actually don't think that's a lie. They may both be a part of R, but I suspect the rivalry/vendetta is real.

She may have been developing her skills and her poker face all this time, or in just the past couple of years. And I really think she's probably better at lying now, on the whole, then she was in earlier years...but not by that much. The moment that she abruptly mentions having saved MC in the Sunken Vault once they start to suspect her really stands out. Yes, she's learning to forge an alibi, but she also doesn't seem to notice in the moment how suspicious it is that she offers an alibi without prompting. Almost reminds me of Jacob, now that I think about it. Gives away her guilty conscience.

So the way I see it, she's still a bad liar. It's just that we got so used to her brand of nonsense that it became part of the background of HPHM for a lot of players, or for some of us, something that we actually considered endearing about her. We stopped taking her seriously, and that was our mistake. The clues were all there. It's the classic literary trope. Those of us who consume a lot of media are trained to look for the plot twists and ironies, we expect the unexpected. A character who seems untrustworthy is therefore actually a lot more likely to feel like they can be trusted, provided that they're untrustworthy in the right kind of way, if that makes any sense? Meanwhile, a character who seems too good to be true, very often is. Or, to quote Frodo Baggins himself, "I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer, and feel fouler." My boy was high key genre savvy.

I never thought I’d have a reason to make a reference to my first hard-core anime obsession while making content for the HPHM fandom, but here we are! 😂 (I can partially blame @lifeofkaze​ for encouraging me. 🤍) 

But yes! As most of you probably already know, I absolutely adore the character of Duncan Ashe in Hogwarts Mystery, even if the game has 150% robbed him of the attention and development he deserves. As most of you probably already know as well, I ship my version of Duncan (usually just called “Ashe”) with my version of Jacob to the moon and back. Even though Ashe is a ghost, his and Jacob Cromwell’s storyline develops quite a bit after Ashe’s death, with both of them coming to grips with how much they mean to each other and Ashe also finding a close friend and honorary sister-in-law surrogate sibling in Jacob’s sister, Carewyn. After being inspired by my faceclaim for Ashe, Charlie Rowe, now having a beard, I decided to draw a concept of Duncan Ashe as an adult, if he’d been allowed to grow up and become a Cursebreaker the way he wanted -- and that’s where that aforementioned childhood anime obsession comes in.

When I first encountered Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter books and learned he was a Cursebreaker working in Egypt, I was hard-core into the Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters fandom, and it was because of that fandom and my budding fascination with ancient Egyptian history that I fell in love with Bill as a character. (A love only strengthened after meeting him in HPHM!) And when it comes to how I draw men’s dress robes, I tend to be most inspired by long trench coats and dusters, as evident by how I’ve drawn Jacob’s robes in the past. So while coming up with a look for “Ashe,” I took some inspiration from the OG trench coat fashion icon himself, Seto Kaiba. 

Ashe’s look is (as one can guess) inspired most by Kaiba’s iconic Battle City coat, but I did make some tweaks. For one, Ashe is wearing thigh-high boots sort of like these, because frankly more men need to wear thigh-highs, though I imagine them having built-in pockets that Ashe keeps stocked with tiny bottles of healing potions and antidotes. (Ashe is very talented at Potions and Healing magic, which comes in handy when book-smart, people-dumb Jacob barrels head-long into situations without a second thought.) Speaking of Jacob, you might have also noticed Ashe is wearing some jewelry -- a gold wedding ring on his left hand (he and Jacob may travel constantly, but Ashe is a jealous enough lover that he wants the whole world to know he and Jacob are committed to each other); a pair of painted gold wrist guards (inspired by this cuff found on the mummy of Pharaoh Shoshenq II) decorated with the Eye of Horus, meaning healing and protection; and a bronze Celtic Shield Knot brooch on his coat, a traditional Irish symbol of protection (as Ashe is Irish!). The Shield Knot in particular draws a nice parallel to both the silver Gordian Knot ring that Ashe gave Jacob as a Christmas gift while they were still at school and Jacob wears constantly, as well as to the Eye of Ra pin Rakepick wears in the game. (The Eye of Ra represents the sun, royal authority, and the restoration of harmony, while the Gordian Knot can represent creativity, overcoming adversity, and the concept of infinity.)

In this universe where they could grow old together, Jacob and Duncan Ashe-Cromwell would travel the world, living largely out of a suitcase but also occasionally stopping by a flat in London not far from where Carewyn lives. Ashe would find a lot of financial success as a prominent, well-respected Cursebreaker and Jacob would champion several important new discoveries as a magical researcher and even share his research as a guest lecturer at schools like Beauxbatons and Castelobruxo. Jacob would be the brilliant, excitable daredevil scholar who’d jump into stupid situations and punch a few jerks in the face for either messing with or hitting on his partner, while Ashe would be the more practical, sassy cynic and resident tsundere who’d have to help Jacob clean up a lot of his messes and yet also be invigorated by Jacob’s endless lust for life. And, of course, although both Jacob and Ashe could be considered rather handsome in their own way, Ashe would indisputably be the more fashionable one of the two, and he’d have to put in the work to make his husband look a bit more put-together during formal events. With both your husband and your sister ganging up on you, Jacob, hopefully SOME fashion sense might finally rub off on you!! 😏

Stating a fact:

Almost in love with these two. Both are unsufferable in their own way but that's the magical world of Hogwarts Mystery and having some troubles with the structural of some characters is not an option XD.

So, returning serious for a few seconds and hoping to recover some dignity with this amazing cursive font and saying the most brutal of the truths, although Hogwarts Mystery is Hogwarts Mystery and some things will be resolved/ become logical/ have at least some sense in two thousands-never, for how we left (year 6 remains terribly long, terribly boring and terribly terrible in everything it proposed, JC I would like to remind you that I have not yet forgiven you for what you did to Rowan) year 7 is almost a revelation.

I emphasise "almost" because I can't deny the existence of all the "MEH" moments, surely MC who behaves like MC is a thing but guys, after all this pain and agony I even saw my beloved Chester Davies at the Ministry and only for this we can all agree that the premises are discreet.

Corey is nice, not incredible or amazing and I wouldn't call him/her "memorable", definitely far from begin in my top 5 best character but his/hers anti-Victor lines (oh my, a ship is born?) in the last chapter released are quite hilarious and even if he/she's clearly hiding something because that conversation about the "too cool for school" was too much ambiguous (the whole "I'm fascinated, he's mean ecc are enormous red flags, 100% sure) he/she's likable. Hoping to not see a Rowan 2.0.

Give people some DIFFERENT characterization please.

Speaking of the devil.

Since Victor is becoming something in this fandom and myself included is surfing on the hyping's wave, since it's been two years since his first appearance on Reddit's big screens, since I imagined him as the separated brother of Ismelda at birth, since we finally had the basis to do the "Twilight-HPHM" crossover, since maybe he has something going on with the bleanch-loving wizard (fantastic how he appeared some chapters before the trial, eh?) seeing what's turned out is...An interesting experience for sure?

Oh come on, I'm still here with the surprised pikachu face.

That was unexpected.

Congratulations JC, you have won this round but the war is still open.

But onestly, I have some complaints about the design. It's clear that the Victor of 2021 is literally a new man but the previous boy that was datamined back in 2019 gave me a more efficient picture of a vampire. Maybe they wanted to try something new with an over-charismatic character (Diego COFF, COFF), most likely he had another role. Again, when you start to think about someone to add in a story the aesthetic is fundamental because is the first information that you will give at the player about who you have ahed (just compare the features that has Diego to Orion's ones and you'll get the idea) so while what's behind this radical change is under our understanding, we can say that the plot was surely different, something happened with the writing of the last two years for sure and the final product has its problems, Victor included.

What is clear is that Vicror said sayonara to the tied hair and his house's scarf to basically become Edward Cullen.

Or the japanese version of Wilfred Levi Kid (that hair style reminds me too much of him).

We'll see what we'll get! ;)

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

“I don’t really see you around the building too much,” You start, examining the nutrition labels of your items with suspicious interest. “Is this where you always run off to?”

Ben shakes his head, going a little slower on ringing up your –groceries?– things. “Ah, not all the time. Most of my time is actually spent at the library, I hardly do anything but study these days.”

“Oh, you attend college here?”

“Yeah,” He’s still a little unnerved, but he’s significantly pleased with how easy conversation flows with you. “I knew going for a double major was a bad idea…”

The exert above is from my first fic on this blog, Must Have Been The Wind. Now, this fic is very special to me for multiple reasons, one of which being that it’s probably one of my only fics that I am truly and genuinely proud of. The reason I chose these particular lines of dialogue is because I tried to build the characters of modern!Ben and Reader through them. I personally feel that, if done right, dialogue is a really good way to “show not tell” and establish characters and their key/common traits without feeling like you’re just shoving the information down the audience’s throats.

From this specific passage, we learn that Ben attends the local college, he often spends most of his free time studying at the library instead of their apartment complex, and that he’s a struggling double major student all while being introduced to a new story setting that before has only been mentioned in passing. It’s also the first real conversation he’s had with the reader, the other main character of the fic. I also tried my best to make the conversation flow and show that Ben’s interested without hindering his shy and anxious tendencies and characteristics. Normally, I would never “toot my own horn” so to speak, as I feel there is still a lot for me to learn and room for me to improve, but again, I’m just really very happy with how this fic turned out in the end.

16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

Okay, so this really depends but I will try to cut to the chase for this question.

In General: x Reader fics— I feel that the possibilities for these pairs are truly endless, but technically that’s not a specific pairing.

In HPHM Fandom: Ben x Reader— Okay so I’m definitely biased on this one, but Ben is truly a very dynamic and unfortunately very under appreciated character and I feel like you can really do a lot with him.

Outside HPHM: Caroline Forbes x Klaus Mikaelson from TVD (Klaroline) –or– Barry Allen x Caitlin Snow from The Flash (Snowbarry)— I started TVD when it was in season 3 and immediately feel in love with these two. I waited approximately six years for them to be endgame only to be bamboozled when he died in the end. Snowbarry, on the other hand, is a completely different ship with a vibe so opposite from Klaroline it’s insane. They are my new Klaroline. I’ve since stopped watching the show since I can hardly stand a key character who is always upfront and the plot lines are getting weaker and more absurd, but I’m still pulling for them. Unfortunately though, the likelihood of these two pulling a fast one on me and getting together seems to be more bleak than Klaroline’s was. *Heavy dramatic sigh*

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Only about once or twice depending on the fic. I’m a perfectionist, so I will at least always go through it once when I think it’s all done to catch mistakes, discrepancies, or other things I might like to fix, add, or reword. But once I do that, I tend not to waste any more time before posting it.

So, I’ve been turning over two of the holiday prompts for about two or three weeks now. I’ve honestly entirely rewritten one of them three times already and am still only in the beginning stages and nowhere near completion. However, I think I’m going to go with something much shorter than originally planned and see how that works. Fourth time’s the charm, right? 😅 Also, there’s not really much I can say considering the requester asked to be surprised so... yeah?

So so terribly sorry, but I haven’t even gotten to your Badeea x Reader holiday prompt yet but I swear it will see it’s day before Christmas!

My Top Secret-Secret Santa fic. It’s coming along pretty well, I just need to make time to finish it. Also not a lot I can disclose at the moment, in case of prying ears but I quite like how it’s turned out thus far!

A Ben x Reader fic set during the second Wizarding War where Ben has to go into hiding from the ministry because of the whole ‘hunting muggle-borns thing’ and Reader can’t let him do it alone so they accompany him... no house or gender specific reader like always, still in planning stages though.

More recently, a Talbott x Reader fic set after graduating Hogwarts. With both of them having very different ideas for what their future might look like, they end up breaking things off the save themselves from more pain in the long run. Talbott goes and becomes an auror while the MC runs off to sort themselves out, traveling the world alone to try and find their answers. They weren’t sure if they’d ever see each other again but it seems fate was rather decided on the matter. Alternatively Titled: Four Times You Said Goodbye and One Time You Didn’t

So for reference, my HPHM oc is named Lucy Stone (that’s her in my icon, but I use my actual name in the game bc it’s just easier for me). I’m also going to use my main D&D character, a lesbian half-elf Rogue 8/Bard 1 named Naeris.

🥀 Has your OC ever been hurt by someone they love? Ever been betrayed? Abused? Attacked? Give me the angst! (if you’d like, write a short drabble about it!)

LUCY — After everything that happens trying to find her brother (Nathan, not Jacob bc I’m so original and decided this literally just now), Lucy feels extremely let down and betrayed by her only brother. She didn’t ever actually think she’d find him in the vaults, really only searching to gain some sort of closure for herself and their muggle parents. Finding him, however, and seeing how consumed he was by this pursuit really just broke her heart. It was like she truly did lose her brother after all. 

NAERIS — Naeris grew up with her human mother, with very little money to support them both, so she’s always felt abandoned by her elven father and his family. After her mother passed away and she was forced to move to the Feywild with him, she was still very resentful of his lack of presence in her childhood. On top of that, when she finally left to return to the material plane, only to find the busted remains of the village she once called home after apparently 60+ years had passed, she had never felt more alone than in that moment. Even now, she still can’t find where her mother was once buried, even the headstone turned to dust.

LUCY — (a drabble, for you. Also, please check out the ficlet @hogwartsmysterystory wrote for me a while back — it really helped me get inspired to write this!)

As “riveting” as the history of magic should have been, Lucy found that Binns’ monotone droning took much of the “magic”, as it were, out of what should have been her favorite subject in this school. Really, a whole history of magical learning and events, and all they did was read out of a textbook while their transparent professor bored them near to death as he clearly once did to himself many years before.

So it wasn’t any wonder, really, that she often spent this hour gazing dreamily out the window, thoughts drifting from one daydream to the next. Today was one of those days, brown eyes staring vacantly through large-framed glasses and out to the thick raindrops splattering the window outside. And it wouldn’t have surprised her friends to know what she often saw in these sleepless dreams of hers.

Gone were the days of endless worrying of Nathan and his disappearance from her life. He still came up, of course, but now more seemed more the image of a long-dead relative or yet-unsolved mystery than as pressing a concern as he was in her first year at Hogwarts. No, these days, a different face occupied her deepest thoughts and desires, once with the kindest eyes and a smile, one reserved just for her.

She wondered if he was taking her advice to heart, now; his concerns and her suggestions at his learning difficulties may not have saved him from their last test, but they, combined with constant care and practice, may just be his saving grace come finals. And if they managed to inform their professors, and get all their friends to help out, maybe Barnaby could show everyone who had ever doubted him just what he was capable of.

Lucy had always known he was smarter than people gave him credit for. Since she first met him, confused and vaguely threatening in the potions classroom years ago, she knew there was more to the Slytherin than met the eye. And as she watched the skies clear and the sun begin to peak out, she knew that she would do whatever it took to help everyone else know it, too.

NAERIS — (a question, provided by my sister for you) — What’s the dumbest thing your OC has ever done?

The dumbest thing Naeris ever did was, in our old campaign after multi-classing as a bard, she began using prestidigitation to prank her party members, specifically the halfling ranger (Phae) and half-orc barbarian (Oz).

Specifically, this one incident had Naeris hiding under Oz’s bed in an inn, and making loud sounds outside the door with the cantrip. This caused Oz to storm out into the Hall to figure out wtf happened, and with one failed stealth save, he found her and broke open a window to toss her out into the snow, 2 stories down. She was fine, but I couldn’t breath, and my best friend’s character (tiefling warlock Nerium, Naeris’ girlfriend) almost dumped her ass for her stupidity.

☀️ What makes your OC genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?

LUCY — The happiest Lucy has been in a while was at the Celestial Ball. No responsibilities, no cursed vaults, and no losing house points. Just her friends and getting to go on her first (unofficial) date with Barnaby — they both were so bad pining after each other after it that even Charlie was almost willing to swear off dragons if it got them to just shut up and kiss already… Almost…

Beyond that, she loves to read in the quiet of the Hufflepuff common room (her favorite spot at Hogwarts — if she could bake, it would be the kitchens, which is currently favorite spot number 2). She still remembers some of the music and dance lessons she took as a child, but almost never uses them outside of the ball and frog choir. She’d like to play quidditch, but feels she already has too much on her plate, and is content to cheer on her friends when they play (especially Barnaby, who makes one hell of a beater lol).

NAERIS — Naeris feels most at home in the comfort of her own room, in the place her party has built in Phandalin. She hasn’t had a place to really call her own since her mother died, and even then she shared one room with her mom, so having a room just for her plus extra space for poison-making, archery practice, and learning new spells and instruments is a real luxury to her.

As for favorite people, she’s still getting used to Phae and Oz. She likes them, and trusts them, but their combined antics are a force to be reckoned with, and she often has to play tough parent-fun parent with Nerium to get them to keep from drinking too much or running headfirst into the fray. But sometimes she gets to be a bit of a good herself, just like she always tried to cheer her mother up when she was I’ll, and seeing her newfound family smile (even at her own expense) was always worth it.

Plus, Nerium is a gorgeous tiefling babe with scary Raven Queen magic who not only willingly puts up with her less-than-ideal quirks, but chooses to love her in return. That’s always hella dope.

AceAro Charlie Discourse

Is the most pointless discourse I’ve ever come across. Like y’all are fighting over your own projections. I’m not even gonna put this in a read more, I’m here with facts.

One side is attacking and straight up bullying the other over a statement made by JK Rowling that was 

1. Vague as fuck. Charlie could have easily fallen in love with MC and the statement ‘Charlie prefers Dragons over Women’ would still make sense. Hell, I prefer Cats over people and I would rather be surrounded by Cats than people, doesn’t stop me from being a dumb bisexual.

2. Said by JK Rowling after the fact when she had all the time in the span of 7 whole ass books to mention that fact in any way ala Dumbledore being gay. We all know asking her to clarify would have her pull bullshit forced representation which is there for nothing more than free press and never touched on again.

This becomes even more pathetic when you factor in 

1. None of the canon characters is romanceable in the game. None of them. And Charlie has no other personality but dragons in HPHM anyway.

2. We actually know nothing about Charlie really outside the bare minimum. Charlie’s the forgotten Weasley for a reason, he’s barely mentioned throughout the books even in scenes where he’s in and his time in Hogwarts like Bill’s is never mentioned neither is his love life. He’s more of a plot device than a character in the books.

3. The game is pretty much non-canon and affects absolutely nothing in canon. Hell, the only thing that connects this game to the main canon is a throwaway line from Ron is book 2. 

So we’ve already established that most of the AroAce Charlie crowd or that least those who are sending anon hate and making passive aggressive posts in the tag are the My headcanon is canon and those who don’t agree with it are (insert whatever here) so really they aren’t worth anyone’s time. Becomes even worse when you realise that they are hypocrites and doing nothing but policing other people headcanons while ignoring that they are fighting over a headcanon too. 

Be careful with my headcanons because of what, a vague ass statement and a line in a non-canon game. The same game also teased the ship. 

What you gonna do? Throw me in fandom prison? You can’t do shit because it’s my headcanon and I’m allowed to ignore canon if I so choose. 

Now, my fellow Charlie and MC shippers. Ya’ll is pathetic too. Stop enabling them. People like this are often nothing but bullies and antis who care about nothing than patting themselves on the back for being ‘Woke’ and not actually caring about the actual representation at hand. By making posts whining about people hating over your ship and dismissing any solid counterarguments, you are only making yourself look even worse. Sometimes it’s better to block and move on. These guys live off of the validation they get from the discourse. As I said, the game is not canon, we know really do know jack shit as to why Charlie never married. Hell, we could easily retcon that JK Rowling style and still do less damage to the canon than Cursed Child. 

But does that matter? No. Because at the end of the day, we’re also aggressively projecting on some level and like them, it does not give us a high ground of any sort, while it’s wrong for them to attack us, it’s wrong of us to retaliate on any level. 

To end this long ass post off, nobody and everybody are valid in his house because we know absolutely nothing and the sooner we realise that and go back to adoring 1 (one) Dragon Child while savouring any new piece of semi-canon information we do get about him because there isn’t much. To anyone blocking me because I don’t want to participate in your circle jerk, every block adds ten years to my lifespan, grows my crops and clears my skin because I’m dealing with one less toxic person.

Can you be more respectful to the devs, please?. Yes, they pull the plot off poorly and badly. But, hey, that's not how you express your dissappointment for the game. Also, what did you expect?. It's a mobile game, so you should've expect it won't be good or amazing. You want a propper story line? Good arc? And great villain?. Don't play the games for mobile. You know, every action games or rpg games for mobile are never as amazing as your expectation want to be. Unless, for visual novel and otome mobile games, yes, there are a lot of great games for this genre and for mobile platforms. Hphm, bruh. Harry Potter games, on mobile platforms? Of course it won't be good. What did you expect?. Besides, to sync the stories and the gameplay, in this case; because hphm is an rpg and action kind of games, isn't as easy as you sync Visual novels. Maybe you should start trying to play Hogwarts Legacy?. There, you got your satisfication there. Bruh, once again, hphm is a mobile games. There's nothing you can hope or expect.

Oh wow...

First of all, did you just say that I should have no expectation for HPHM because it’s a “Harry Potter mobile game”? Seriously? Bruh, you realise that creating this game is someone’s JOB, right? They’re getting paid for that. Even if you’re not spending real money, you’re paying them by watching ads, for example (unless your game is hacked, but it’s a different discussion). Considering that Jam City is a pretty big company, and HP is a pretty big brand, I also assume that those people earn pretty decent money. So I’m sorry, but I’m gonna expect from them to put at least a little effort into something they get paid for. And you know what? I know that they can do that. Because I actually believe that the story was quite good until like half of Y5. I genuinely enjoyed it. So, I can’t even agree with you that HPHM has to be bad by default. 

The quality of the story dropped in comparison to the previous years, and THAT’S what I criticise. I really don’t expect much, just look a few chapters back if they don’t remember what they wrote. It’s not that hard. And as I said, it’s their freaking job.

Also, HPHM basically is a visual novel with more advanced animations? I don’t get why it’s so hard for people to accept. Our influence on the plot is so limited that I really can’t call it an RPG. And an action game? What action? Tracing spells? Duelling? Quidditch? And “bruh”, I won’t start playing Hogwarts Legacy because 1) the game is not even out yet, 2) I’m just not interested in that title, partially because it actually is an action game.

Also, I don’t really understand the part:

Are you saying that a writer can write whatever they want because it’s their writing, and it can’t be called bad? If you think that I’m disrespectful towards the devs, I guess you don’t follow many discussions in this fandom on their topic. I can at least point out what I’m criticising them for. Do I swear by the way? Sure. Perhaps I’d use more sophisticated language if not the fact that Jam City themselves is damn disrespectful when it comes to their players' intelligence. I mean, if they make characters talk about the same things over and over again within one chapter, or just straight up contradicts something they said earlier, I have to assume that they take us for idiots.

Oh, and don’t you worry about me stressing out by the Jam City’s plot. I invested too much time in that game to not see how it plays out, but pointing out their mistakes can actually also be pretty fun. You know, there are whole YouTube channels where people review bad tv shows or movies for fun. And if it bothers you, and it’s so “sickening” for you to watch - you’re free to go. Really. Are you gonna get HPMA or HPHL?

y I'm definitely going to check out Magic Awakened. I've heard a lot about it so far, and considering that it's going to wind up being the spiritual successor to Hogwarts Mystery, in the sense that a significant portion of HPHM's fandom will likely migrate over to HPMA after the game ends...I'll probably have some friends to talk to when I do. It's an app game, it's presumably going to be free (or at least, cheap) so why not? Also, that art style rocks. I'm not kidding when I say that the look of this game feels more Harry Potter than any HP game on the market. More than Hogwarts Mystery, more than any of the games based on the original books (boy were they wild, I played a few of the early ones as a kid, but that's a discussion for another time.)

Hogwarts Legacy, though? Ugh. Look. The game looks amazing. It looks fantastic, and from what I hear, it's going to be on the Switch, so I have the system for it. Apparently, it's Open World, one of my favorite features that any game can have. It's Harry Potter, my favorite fictional universe...basically ever. I can play an OC, and from what I hear, it takes place in the distant past, so like...a whole new story. This game. Sounds fucking amazing. But...as I understand it, Rowling is involved with HPHL. (I don't believe she is involved with HPMA, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.) Meaning she's going to turn a profit from this game. And we all know what she's spending her money on. Maybe, if I can find a way to procure a copy without actually contributing to Rowling and her appalling transphobic vendetta...then sure, I'll totally play it. But will I make posts about it? Will there be a "Blair Plays" Hogwarts Legacy? Doubtful. Because that's giving exposure to the game. Sure, it's Tumblr exposure, so that's an asterisk, but still.

I’ll start with just a few MC’s I love! (Key word being “few!!” DX)

@dat-silvers-girl -- Sarahi Silvers, AKA the classic Disney princess of MC’s. XDD Without fail, you’re the first person I go to whenever a new chapter’s out: even now, I always have to watch your playthroughs first, and your commentary always makes me smile. Sarahi as well is just the absolute cinnamon roll...a cinnamon roll that can kick serious ass!!

@samshogwarts -- Samantha O’Connell. Just...she’s so friggin’ adorable and I just...I just love her?? So much?? I honestly cannot wait to see more of the first year comic you’ve been working on for her. It was so much fun to try to write for Samantha in the POTC AU, especially to put her in the same space as Charlie. Without fail, whenever we get to interact, it always brightens my day too...you were one of the first friends I made in this fandom, and I’m so, so glad you were there at the start of my journey! <3

@drinkyoursoupbitch -- Gwendolyn “Wendy” Gordon. Not only is your girl an absolute rainbow of a character, but so are you as a person! You’re always a joy to interact with and there are so many times you’ve made me laugh. Ben/Wendy is my OTP and I will protect it forever!!

@cursebreakerfarrier -- SO MANY. Jules Farrier. Alistair Schaefer. Robin Isherwood. Montelimar “Monty” Bloom. Atticus Grimsley. Teddy Ellison. Galen Stagg. Azariah Steele. Your creativity is seemingly limitless and I could NEVER juggle all the characters that you do. I do, however, absolutely adore interacting with all of them with my kiddos -- it seems like whenever we put one of my kids and one of your kids in a room together, the result is always a blast.

@that-ravenpuff-witch -- Ellie Hopper, Estrid Soelberg, and especially ADELIA. FRIGGIN’. SELWYN. The most beautiful and clever Slytherin Victorian fashion icon in existence! I love her relationship with Teddy so much and any time I get to write anything for “Uncle Bat” interacting with her and her family...MY HEART! Ellie’s relationship with Alistair is so adorable, and I’ve absolutely adored developing the relationship between my kid Ru and your lovely lady Estrid.

@hogwartsmystory -- Ethren Whitecross. Ethren is honestly so well-developed and so friggin’ relatable, and your writing is always on-point. I know our characters really haven’t interacted much, but I’m not exaggerating when I say I always smile when I see you on my dashboard or especially in my notifs.

@kyril-hphm -- Kyril Vasiley, of course! Carey’s bb bear!! Your art never fails to put a smile on my face -- your love for your characters and for your art always comes through, and it’s always so charming.

@brothergrimm71 -- Septimus Crowe, AKA the biggest bad-ass in the whole of HPHM MC’s, I’m not taking any arguments at this time. We don’t really interact much, but I always love see anything Septimus-related on my dashboard. <3

@makichaotic -- Cereza Gomez. I know we haven’t really interacted, like, AT ALL, but...your art is always just so unbelievably beautiful!! Especially anything with Cereza and Talbott...they’re always so friggin’ cute!! I adore whenever I see your art on my dashboard.

@annabelle-tanaka-official Elaiza Schuyler. Oh my GOD, she is so precious, I can’t even. Not only is she stylish and sweet beyond reason, but I love what you’ve done with her link to Rowena Ravenclaw and especially her relationships with Talbott, Tonks, Kyril, and Angelo. ^.^

@immagrosscandy -- Candy and Paula Vigiere. I absolutely ADORE their dynamic -- even though, yeah, it’s easy to write those two in comedic situations and comics, there’s also such sincere love between them too, and I love that. You drawing Carewyn after I’d only just joined the fandom also just made me feel so unbelievably welcome. There’s a reason I haven’t changed my avatar once since you first drew it for me, and it’s not just because it’s beautiful and fits Carewyn to a tee -- it also just always reminds me of how much time you put in, to draw a character you didn’t even know and do her so much justice. <3

@lunasilvermore -- Luna Silver. Luna is so wonderfully quirky, and yet so beautifully three-dimensional, full of talents as well as relatable hang-ups and flaws. I love how her relationship with Rath has such realistic issues. I love the dynamics within her family. I love the way you’ve characterized Jacob Silver (Jacob’s Angels unite!!). Not to mention your awesome art that shows all of that off so wonderfully!

@angellazull -- Angelo Lancaster. Angel is the purest thing and I absolutely love all of his relationships, from his romance with Penny to his friendships with other MC’s like Kyril, Elaiza, and Roger. Your art is also really, really gorgeous too! Your use of color is exquisite.

@larg04 -- Dusty Emerald. Your level of talent, just...blows me away. Seriously. Your art is always perfect, and I always love learning more about Dusty. I really enjoyed the simulator you designed for her, and honestly, Dusty’s relationship with Andre?? It gives me SUCH life, I can’t even tell you!!

HPHM Year 5 spoilers.

Okay, so the latest chapter we have, we need to find Peeves bc the little shit has the portrait vault. There are 7 things we need to do apart from the classes and it all is about talking to ghosts. At the very last one we talk with Duncan Ashe (you know, the kid that died during a potion gone wrong that so happens to be our brother’s ex-mate). So MC has to go to the Prefects’ Bathroom to do so, and guess who we get to go with? Any clues? I’ll tell you, it’s Bill and Charlie Weasley! (Like always).

When I saw that, the first thing that came to my mind is the whole thing about that first time most of the HPHM fandom talked about how it is the best set up for a fic, and for the Hogwarts’ students to get some juicy rumors? Well...today I happened to love the dialogue of the mission. Here, a couple of the screenshots I took of it:

But y’all, i really want some bitter ass teenager to come up to me and be like “so, is it true that you and the two Weasley brothers are shagging in the Prefects’ Bathroom?” I NEED ACTUAL SCHOOL DRAMA. like, being called shit cuz we are curse-breakers and all that ain’t that much of gossip. We all know by now we are and ain’t afraid to chaos a little chaos. I just wanna see how they can deal with all those heavy rumors and stuff.

I want to think that MC is actually cannon cuz Y’all remember those friends of Charlie who helped him smuggle Norbert(a) out of Hogwarts? That was definitely some of the gang, honestly. And when Ron mentions in Chamber of Secret about hearing about a secret chamber from Bill, but not really know what it was, has to be the very first Vault we encountered with Bill (or all of the ones we’ve fought against). So, just imagine that those rumors happened all from 4-7 year (for MC and Charlie, and Bill would only have to deal with it from 6-7) and it becomes those inside jokes amongst themselves and obviously the gang, and when Fred and George (Percy is to uptight to find himself in this type of shit) come to Hogwarts and hear about these rumors, they are a 100% questioning or looking for themselves if Charlie, MC, and Bill act weirdly around each other when MC stays for Christmas or Summer breaks.

I don’t remember why I wrote this post, but I had to write it and possibly talk with someone about it. Oh well, it don’t matter. Hope y’all enjoyed, whatever this was. I don’t think I ever had a point to make lmao.

i like the last chapter of HPHM... Jam City literally made(finally) the point where my MC and his AUs will born:

Auror!AU: David is done with curses and cursebreakers and soon as the problems with the Vaults will end he will work hard on becoming and auror, living somewhere with Penny. (in This AU, David chose to go in the Portrait Vault with Charlie, and he gets a scar from a burn). In this AU David and Jacob are both Aurors but they must suffocate their culture about being fighters because Wizarding World doesn’t like the idea of how they both conceive magic and basically create spells that optimize their qualities as fighters. In this AU, Tonks and Lupin, will survive.

FanonCursebreaker!AU: Rakepick(/Rakebitch) will personally fight the dragon(noticing David’s problems to defeat it), loses a limb, gets saved by David, decides to betray R. and just leaves Hogwarts, she will re-appear during the years trying to convince people to become a Curse-breaker and sharing some infos, the rest is written in Lycopeneishere’s fanfiction (click on the name)(also i love the fanfiction soooo goood)(and yeah, i’m obsessed with this fic, because there is barely MCxPenny content in this fandom). At the end of the saga(sorry for having some personal headcanon about a fanfic) Dumbledore will call Penny and David so they can help to capture(/uncover the truth) Sirius Black(yeah third year of HP)

CanonCurseBreaker!AU: Everything goes like it’s meant to be but David will still want to be a curse breaker. Penny still decides to joining him, but they’re alone but still able to travel and learn in the hardest way possible. In this AU, my whole “HPHMxTheWitcher” happens, where during the end of the seventh year, Geralt by entering in a portal ends in Hogwarts, with an Archgriffin on the loose. Then during a troè in Egypt(to catch up with Bill), David and Penny will have a year in Geralt’s universe but in HP-years would be like 3 months(probably helping Geralt and Yen in their travels to find Ciri), just in time to appear in that ��the Prophet” article letting know to their friends their location and after the mission(like from the Fanon!AU) David will work as a healer(but often working for anyone who wants him and is able to pay him) so he could be present for Harry whenever he needs.

Darkest!AU: Even an angst-bitch like me, think is the worse AU ever...and i created it! Basically here everything that may go wrong or end badly, it will(so. To the point that half OCs(like Rowan, Penny, Jacob) dies, David goes insane mostly because everyone thinks it’s his fault(/he killed them), gets expelled and banished soon as the curses of the Vaults are broken. He will live alone in the Forbidden Forest, hated by the ones who he was sure were his friends(Bill, Charlie and etc). The only one who believes(and it’s the truth) that he didn’t actually kill them is Chiara, but basically David rejects any kind of humans/humanoids. So he actually re-join the community during the Battle of Hogwarts, even when his allies are those people who never believed in his innocence. Also in this AU, David has more tantrums about is inability to understand why “A mature person doesn’t do what an evil-guy does” (the same kind of thoughts that people have when they must deal with Joker from Batman: If they kill Joker, they prove his point about breaking the laws, if they don’t kill Joker, and arrest him instead, Joker will evade Arkham Asylum one more time, and one more time he will try to break the mind of people like Gordon and Batman while Joker kills and destroys Gotham). In some way i love Darkest!AU(because i like to reflect over it) but i also hate it because is sooo tragic, so gory, truculent, more like a SurvivalHorror!AU(like Corpse Party or something)
