OK LONG POST HERE WE GO!!!
i had the absolute privilege of seeing WVU/metropolitan theater ride the cyclone not once, but twice this week (opening and closing nights!!)
and lemme tell ya it was AMAZING. definitely one of my favorite casts/productions i’ve seen. so here’s the thoughts:
number one: it was overall very similar to 2016 original cast!! many of the actions were played very similarly to that one,, but it was also very different. bc script changes (i still miss ricky conceding, love conquers all and oceans line about not knowing/caring abt people in life and regretting it though) but also bc there were puppets. more on that later lol
-the set was AMAZING, here’s a picture i took from today before it started
Tumblr media
i just love looking at this.
and going off of that. fuckin look at karnak!!!!! he’s so cool! reminds me of a muppet in the best way lol
-i also swore that virgil was wearing an ‘in case i make it’ by will wood shirt. i don’t actually think he was for a few reasons lol but i do think it was a very similar design fghgfd
-i love the uranium suite choreo so much. ocean put SO MUCH into those little scoop thingys fhsjhd but whenever they Died,, the round and round part,, the choreo looked more like the choreo from way back during waiting for the drop and i LOVE THAT. i miss that song a lot too.
-THEY ALSO DID THE WOO!! BEFORE THE END AND I LOVE THAT TOO!!!!!
-the layout of the coaster was cool: it was
ocean mischa
constance ricky
noel
which i thought was a great was to show their personalities over their friendships sort of :)
OK,, JANE DOE: i love her design in this one. she had pink ribbons on her pigtails and big ole eyelashes and i LOVE HER.
-she also had a comb for her dolly and used it to stab it while she was talking abt the lion thing. it was really funny fhsjhd
-her way of talking was also really cool. she broke off the sentences in different places than what i’ve heard before and just kind of had more of a sort of curious and clueless way about her. it was like “and so. i walk alone and wonder. why?” and just. her <3333 she was so good.
-during oceans little monologue (her speech) before what the world needs,, jane also put her head on constance’s shoulder and just. amazing. it was so funny she’s so sweet fhsjhd
-during the new birthday song (or. after it while they’re all talking) she was also super cute.. like played around w her party hat and ricky’s little xylophone thing he was playing for the song. i just think she’s great fhsjdh
ok back to The Rest,,
-seeing the upop bits was hilarious. like i’ve read them and seen a few performances of it,, but seeing it live was so good fhjshd also constance’s costume had such cute details!! she had rainbow details on her shoes and a couple enamel pins on her pinafore!
-constance and ocean also did their little handshake thing as part of their dance during its just a ride and that made me almost cry too fhsjdh
-they added “prestigious university” into oceans list of Reasons She’s The Best or whatever. it’s funny bc wvu is Not At All That lol hdjshdjs (edit: finally reread the new script and Yes that’s in there but it is still Really funny lol)
-ok what the world needs was so funny. love love love ocean (she’s the worst!!) but this one was like. manic abt it in the best way. her riff at the end was hilarious too. a lot of “ooooh i’m better than youuuu and youuuu and allllll of youuuohooooohohohooooo” it was great. also the turntable was super cool in this show bc it was like a mini stage which helped w levels and stuff too! (another note abt this ocean, she definitely made her own choices but she also rlly reminded me of tiffany which was fun!!)
-this noel was. SO gay. they all are. but This One. GODDAMN!! he was awesome. he did the intro monologue in a much more dramatic way than khobly (still referencing my 2016 thoughts) ..like kholbys version was kinda done like. noel was slightly embarrassed not abt who he was but like,, more so circumstancial stuff if that makes sense? he got excited abt the whole missing teeth thing and all, right. (just to give a reference on how these noels are different!!) this noel was drawn out dramatic through the wholeeeee thing. he was amazing.
-the taco bell picture comes up and mischa’s like hahahhaa the Fuck lol and noel starts like pouting. “what is That” “i was hoping you could tell me” “NO!!☹️” bro sounded like he was bout to cry dhshdh he was so good
-OK THE QUICK CHANGE!! y’all know how he kinda strips in 2016 and Other versions? NOPE THIS ONE WAS ALLLL TEARAWAY!! it happened so fast,, he was like FINE *RIP* and BOOM lingerie. it was incredible. he also wore on of those long fluffy flowy “i just killed my husband for the money” robes. y’all he looked so good
-today was especially great. noel’s lament was insane. i have literally never heard a louder audience for anything. every time he’d do anything people would scream (bc he was fucking killing it) and when he went down to “die” the first time. he just kinda sat and did the little wave to get people to make more noise. it was amazing. i wish i could’ve fuckin videod or some shit bc it was soooo good.
-mischa. mischa bachinski. this guy was perfect for him (i am so sorry i don’t know the actors names by the way). tbh i love when mischa’s short. and bouncy. his rage was a lot of jumping and punching air and just. i loved that for him. TSIA was hilarious as usual, it always is. i really liked how they Made a jet with their arms on that line,,, but TALIA. she was actually an actress on stage and they did the whole dance together and then she ran away on the last OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH and it was SO good wtf. talia Always gets me so this was so exception for sure.
-this entire cast is definitely one of my favorites for sure. but tHIS RICKY IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE ONE EVER. he was incredible y’all. like they all were but. ricky. his choices like. landed SO perfectly every time. “i’m tellin’ you right now, monkeylovedrop! :)” SHIT WAS AMAZING (not to mention i didn’t know abt ricky’s new background in the script so that was also fucking hilarious.)
-not to mention the way he did the very end section of the song the way alex did,, like melody wise?? i LOVE THAT (i just like hearing it that way more lol) so that made me super happy.
-oh and remember how i said there were puppets? i fuckin WISH i could’ve taken a picture of it. the zolarians were cat puppets that came out from the alcoves on the sides of the stage and they were fuckin NEON BLUE AND GREEN with holographic details. no one was ready for that but it was PERFECT DFGHJGFGH
-also the actual sabm costume??? he was glittery and neon and flared pants and heeled boots and neon green cat ears and he LOOKED SO MF GOOD HAHAHAHA
-the energy of the whole fucking show was so amazing. especially today (closing performance). people were cheering through the whole damn thing it was perfect.
-TBOJD: the way she said MY TURN!!! was so cute. it was like !! MY TURNNNN !! all excited and drawn out a little. good for her.
—but mainly. there were 2 things happening here. 1) the actress was AMAZING. i think she also may be one of my favorite janes ever. she did this Thing with her hands at one point,, and i can’t really describe it,, but it was like she was just trying to make sure she could still Feel. and it was rlly cool. 2) MORE PUPPETS!?!?!?! this time it was when the music kicked up,,, the rest of the choir was doing their own sick choreo but there were also uhhh big ass worms among them too. they were actually pretty cool.. big teeth and the way they moved was really fun to watch but it did feel a touch overcrowded at times 🙃
-THE OTHER THING WAS THE FLIGHT!!!!! SHE STILL FLEW!! she didn’t go upside down or spin but the fact she went up as high as she did (like above the spinny thing on the stage part of the set) was incredible. and yes ofc she absolutely MURDERED THOSE HIGH NOTES IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. i was mentally taking notes on her techniques the entire time fhsjhd (fun fact,, after the song today when i cheered/screamed for my applause i did in fact hit the note dhjshd it was a surprisingly supported one too lol)
-sugar cloud: JANE STARTED THE CHOREO AND THEN THEY ALL DID IT AFTER HER <33333 i will always love how sugar cloud is just Them uninhibited. it’s so good that way. this constance was also SO good with the way she did the monologue too. there were a few strong hints of regret but overall it was just Acceptance and moving forward and just hnnnnnnn she was wonderful.
-AND THEN THERE WERE MORE PUPPETS!!!! legit just little blobs of color that danced a little bit too. very cute, very constance fhsjhd my friend said the orange one was her favorite character and stole the show even lol. they were very expressive hfjdh
-there were a LOT of points where the audience were clapping along too and it made me sooooo happy. there was a part in noel’s lament, talia, and sugar cloud and just <333
-another few points that i saw throughout the show,, noel and constance besties. they were always hangin around each other.. same w mischa and constance. she’d make her quips against ocean and mischa’d be like YEAAHHHHHHH!! legit heard constance go-after the upop drugs bit- “yeah! you liked that one!! i’d been working on it for a bit!” <333
-really maybe just noel besties with everyone bc he also gave jane like. a Good hug before she left.. <33
-last thing that had me Dying,, noel also went up to ocean and put his hand on her shoulder and stood real close to her after she made her final vote. and ocean looked at him and leaned into it. and just. the growth from them both for that <3333 they’re so special to me.
-legit i think the only remote criticism i have is that it’s just a ride went SO FUCKING FAST???? like i don’t think y’all are taking enough of a look around at that speed lol.. it just wasn’t enough time to rlly enjoy how good that song is yknow.
overall wvu rtc completely blew me away and i desperately hope SOMEONE has a slime tutorial of it because GODDAMN THAT VERSION WAS GOOD!!! i need more ppl to talk abt it dhjshdj

Hi pokies, as someone who’s been in the fandom for a hot sec I have some opinions
So buckle up or just scroll past because this is a long one it’s just me word vomiting into the void at this point
Burner account because some of y’all scare me 😘😘
‼️‼️THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS ‼️‼️
Ocean
————
1. Wtf is y’all’s hate boner with her?
2. I have no clue where y’all got the idea that ocean parents are like these horrible abusive people. Like neglectful? Definitely . But I don’t think that Mr and Mrs offers their kid to take a hit off their bong are going to be incredibly strict and physically abusive towards her.
3. Ocean just a shity person with a superiority complex and that’s ok. she doesn’t need horrible stuff happening to her to justify that
4.Ocean was a bad friend to Constance, she was constantly putting her down through back handed remarks and talking over her “ she has self esteem issues why wouldn’t she?” “ do we really need another organ donor?” And not to mention her say that she believed that Constance did nothing with her life.
Noel
————
1. For the love of god stop making him an uwu soft boy twink <- this is not directed at people who just draw/ Write him with more feminine traits I do the same. I’m talking about those who infantilize him as the helpless soft boy who just needs a big strong man (Mischa) in his life and suddenly everything will be ok
2. I hate The Noel is Talia through either a code name or straight up catfish theory
A. The catfishing theory is problematic at best. Yes let’s take the single openly gay character and have him prey on another man character for his own satisfaction. Idk if Mischa’s cool with it in your fanfic it’s still weird
B. To me at least, Talia as a code name for noel just takes away the whole meaning behind her character. Talia is Mischa’s last connection to Ukrain. We see throughout the musical he was constantly trying to text her meaning they spoke constantly. She was his one and only lifeline, something for him to focus on and push through his shity situation to get to
Mischa
————
1. I beg of y’all stop himboafying this man, I get he’s big and strong but he’s not dumb😭
A. Mischas smart guys!!!! I get alot of actors portray him struggling with English at times but y’all got to remember fluency ≠ intelligence gance. it’s like his 3rd language cut him some slack. he speaks Ukrainian, Russian, English, and even some Dutch ( not even the Dutch speak Dutch)
B. Just look at his saw6 monologue! Man had an in-depth video essay explaining on a horror movie just ready to go when ocean put him on the spot
C. Mischa can be incredibly eloquent with his words when he wants to be. Ex his Talia monologue/ when he tells Noel he knows what clichés are
2. Listen Im obsessed with Gus halper so I get it we love his mischa BUT DONT COMMENT ABOUT HIM ON NON GUS MISCHAS
Talia
———
1. Stop 👏 hating 👏 on 👏 Talia 👏
A. I’ve seen so many people make Talia just a straight bitch in fanfics to justify Mischa not being with her and that feels weird to me
2. The amount of people I’ve seen straight up hating on Talia for doing absolutely nothing but “stand in the way of nischa” is wild. Like I don’t get how you can look at her, a character who doesn’t even have a single line and be like ya no fuck you
Ricky
————
1. I revoke my previous statement , I’ve seen some people ( mostly rp accounts) be weird ableist to not only Ricky as a character but his actors and I don’t need to explain why that’s gross
Jane
————
1. Honestly I don’t have anything to say here I haven’t really seen anything granted it is pretty hard to mess up a character who’s whole point is shes a blank slate
Constance
————
1. I think a lot of the fandom is guilty of seeing constance as just the “ sweet nice wholesome mom friend of the group” when (to me at least) the whole point of Constance was that people thought she was this, was because the never bothered to get to know her past that .
2. In her monologue it’s heavily hinted at that Constance was suffering with depression leading up to the cyclone.
A. Ontop of this we can see throughout musical she was self deprecating “Lost her virginity in a crap box in a crappy town, why of course she did.” you should always laugh at guys jokes otherwise they’ll think your a cow” AND PEOPLE DONT TALK ABOUT THSI ENOUGH
3. Also I dont get the “mom of the group” thing. Like she was nice to everyone and ocean mentioned that she baked but that’s about it
4. I don’t thinks it’s acknowledged enough that Constance was SAd. I don’t care if she wanted to loose her virginity, shes under aged and by Constance’s own emissions the carny was in his 30s
The fandom
————
1. Listen I love some angst as much as the next person but there’s a difference between angst and just some straight up hurt p*rn (especially with ocean, again wtf is y’all hate boner for her) I’ve seen literal SA fics written about her wtf
2.This one goes out specifically to you rtc rp accounts😘😘😘 (both on and off this app) there’s a time and a place to rp guys
A. If you're talking to other rp accounts then pop off. But That being said I’ve seen a lot of rp accounts bleed over into non rp post/ videos, while this is normally fine I’ve seen quite a few accounts pushing their head cannons on other non rp accounts as if their facts or an authority on the matter. Again nothing wrong with rp accounts / sharing your head cannons, just time and place guys
3. Look I get it plenty of the actors/ actresses that have been in rtc are attractive but some of y’all need to remember the characters themselves ARE CHILDREN
4. On the topic of the actors/ actresses some of y’all need to learn what boundaries are
5. I saw someone try to pull some pro ship bullshit with the characters once and it haunts me
Rtc
——-
Listen. I absolutely love ride the cyclone, I’ve been hyper fixatingon it for the past years now that being said I’ve seen more than enough productions to get my fair share of opinions on it
1. Real Ukrainian war footage in Talia
A. It feels in very poor taste at best and just strange up gross at worst to the situation at hand. I get it Mischa’s Ukrainian and that’s a very important part to his character but that doesn’t mean you need to throw real war footage to the end of the song.
B. Talia and mischa story as a whole is tragic enough as is. You don’t need to add in the fact that on top of Talia possibly not even being real we’re now throwing in the possibility that she died in the war? It just seems like over kill to me.
2: Ricky’s disability being written out of the script was really gross. Like I get it they wanted to avoid another yannick situation but this like the worst possible way to go about it
There probably more but I’ve been at this for like 2 hrs (I’m going to update this as things come to me so stay tuned)

Life's a Scream literally made me cry (in a good way I felt so safe 😭)
no pressure at all, but anything caregiver mischa with a little reader or just mischa x reader in general would be greatly, greatly appreciated but only if you're comfortable and want to of course <3
Going through my asks and trying to write some more, so here ya go anon!! (Side note, this is with both Noel and Mischa as caregivers :3)
Comfort
You regress during choir, and Mischa and Noel are there to take care of you
Cg!Noel, Cg!Mischa, Gn!Reader
“Mischa!” you shouted, running up to give your friend a hug. The tall boy chuckled, picking you up and spinning you around and around, smiling as you wrapped your arms around his neck. “Hello there little one! Did someone miss me?” You nod quickly, your face buried in his neck as you let the familiar comfort wash over. You had always been impressed by the way Mischa had been able to tell when you were regressed, and even when he didn’t realize at first, he was quick to adjust when you told him. He always seemed to be ready with a hug or a kind word, sometimes even a lullaby if you were feeling really stressed.
As you sat in Mischa’s arms, warm and safe and full of comfort, he moved to sit with the rest of the choir. You could hear Constance whispering something to Ocean, who giggled somewhere behind you as Ricky and Penny argued over which Star Trek captain was best. Noel wasn’t there yet, but you knew that when he did get there, he would probably have some kind of snack, as you could feel Mischa texting him behind your back.
“Hey, bud,” Mischa murmured, “would you like an apple juice? Noel says he can get one from the lunch ladies.” You nodded with a sound of approval, twisting your hands gently into the fabric of Mischa’s sweater vest. You felt Mischa nod back against your head, and then he was back to texting Noel. You smiled tiredly, burrowing deeper into your Bubba’s neck.
It had been two months since Mischa and Noel had agreed to be your caregivers, and honestly you couldn’t imagine life without them. Noel had found out you regressed first when you had slipped after a particularly stressful day, and although it had been a surprise, he had handled it well, brought you water, sat next to you, even let you sleep on his shoulder. Mischa realized not too long after that and had been confused and a little weirded out at first, but after doing some research had accepted you fully, even buying you a small stuffed bear as an apology for his behavior. You slept with it every night. Eventually, after the three of you had been close for a while, the subject of a caregiver little relationship was mentioned. You were very nervous, but both Noel and Mischa were ecstatic, and (after Mischa checked in with Talia) you hadn’t had any regrets. The start had been rocky, but now that all three of you were used to each other and settled into a comfortable rhythm, things had been smooth.
You were pulled from your memories by the sound of the choir door closing and the familiar click of dress shoes on tile, and then Noel was climbing the risers to sit by you and Mischa. “Hmm, Mischa, have you seen y/n? I happen to have a bottle of apple juice here I think they might want…” You whipped your head around, staring as Noel giggled at your wide eyes. “There they are!” He cried in play surprise”, “I was beginning to think I’d have to drink this all by myself.” You giggled and reached out from Mischa’s lap, making grabby hands at the bottle. “Silly.” You murmured. Noel cooed and opened the bottle for you, only handing it over after Mischa made you promise not to spill. You drank happily, making little noises of contentment as Mischa rubbed your back and Noel smiled down at you.
Eventually, your two caregivers fell into their usual comfortable patter of conversation as you drank, leaving you to listen as the voices of your friends pooled around you, making you feel safe and loved. This was one of those days where the choir had been allowed to sit back and relax as Father Marcus went about trying to make a new set list for you all to perform. It was cold in the choir room, but the warmth that always seemed to radiate off of Mischa was comfy. Soon you feel your eyes start to drop and you reach out to hand Noel the bottle, snuggling in as Mischa and Noel chuckle. “Sleepy, dear?” Mischa asks. You nod slowly, wrapping your arms around his stomach. You feel Noel lean in and ruffle your hair gently. “Get some rest, mon petit ange.” He murmured, leaning his head on Mischa’s shoulder. “We’ll be right here when you wake up.” You nod, babbling quietly to yourself for a moment before your eyes droop close and small snores begin to leave your mouth, and that is how you stay for the rest of the period, comfortable and safe and wrapped in happiness.

Gbbo botanical week 2023
Liveblogging for myself and one friend
Botanical weeks seem to replay the random nationalities, probably smart but something not common huh!
Abbi woulda thrived, huh?
Usually it’s like an old man who has a garden in past seasons who do it for fun
Gotta be real, I’m not sure how cardamom tastes
I forget spices are like… natural lol
Mulled wine to egg is so grey, looool
Quite a dangerous thing to do. “Thank you”
Go Tasha, lol, I wish her the best tho
We fight Paul here
Dana, girl, not spicing a bun but just the filling? Good luck
Was Josh also a garden boy earlier… eh we’ll see
I’ve not really baked a bread besides banana so I never had to prove anything. Seems a rough bit with their time always
That did look nice Dana, the twist
Oh I forget they might use Celsius? Or do they use F for baking. Wow I know nothing
Alison “lean on these buns” I’m…
Yes Tasha prove Paul wrong (was prove a pun)
Welp, called it with Dana
Saku works in accounting, her maths!
Like Josh’s lemon and blueberry representative frosting swirl
Good job Cristy
Alison did tell matty to prove longer lol
1 hour 30 doesn’t seem enough. They like the pressure dramas now I feel
Matty and Alison as lemon and time
That’s a big cake for each person, hope the crew gets to enjoy
Noel is actually singing “Entrance of the Gladiators” what a song for clowns huh
I don’t know crystallizing
Matty being completely confused and Tasha just watching when not supposed to
Noel and Saku messing around
Enrichment in his enclosure
Judged the technical well into the night? I don’t notice sundown often
Matty you referenced HP, unfortunately we must throw you in a pit now
Dan made something hmmm
Alison…. Hahahahhahahaaaaa
Saku is making something ambitious
Tasha just signing to be more comfortable, let’s gooooo
Is hibiscus like really popular over there???
I mean we have them where I live, like in people’s yards, but I only had a hibiscus drink like once
That box should be nice
It looks like resin
Shark attacks! Lol, Dana is fun
Yeah that’s like a sunflower texture… I didn’t notice cristy buttering the mold, oh it’s the chocolate
Dan no…..
Tasha what
Why is there tragic disasters and there’s no commentary. What a time suck!!!
Oh Tasha’s back up, plot twist!!! Good for her
Tasha is so tall… (me being normal about it)
Thank you for the help Josh!
Cristy nooo, I mean idk if there’s anything practical to do
Saku saying bless her
Cristy no… no offense to her, but she gives off the vibes of someone would would start crying so like… :(
They can eat it… this is sad. Someone mentioned if old hosts were around they would cuss up a storm to make this footage unusable
Cristy, I think you should be safe you did well earlier….
Group hug and lots of encouragement from others though
Starting out they’re judging Tasha a little too kindly on look, I think… the inside does look nice tho and do trust it’s yummy tho
That’s a nice flower and the layers are clean, Saku
Very nice flower, Josh
Josh is quite good. He just doesn’t have much personality comparatively to others
Dana’s decoration is very cool, shame about the rest
Good on ya Josh
Ah, knew she was gone, but RIP. She’s kept a great attitude. Goodbye :(
Yay calling mums
Saku asking about time off to someone named Charlotte, looool

Peppermint Eustass Kidd x F! Reader Day 20: NSFW - Dressing Up as Santa
tw: nsfw. usage of costumes. face sitting. masturbation.
wc: 640
Tumblr media
Dear, @magui-kawaii here I am with Day 20 and the spicy red haired captain! I hope you enjoy this little scenario! Thank u for requesting and happy holidays!! love ya! 💖✨
The request was:
magui-kawaii asked: Hi Sashi! ❤️ Can you do Day 20 🍬 peppermint with Eustass Kid x Shy F!Reader in Modern Au maybe the reader is trying to do a naughty surprise to him.
Tumblr media
Buying Christmas gifts for Kid have always been a pain in the ass. The red haired only wants to eat and cares as much as nothing about the holidays. Yet, because he secretly hides a soft side, he never fails in buying you a present.
Yet, you struggle to get one for him… A robot figure? I mean he loves them, but again? No, he has a huge collection already. A wrench? he has too many…
You spent at least four hours surfing the many online shops on your phone, but still, nothing. And soon the idea of asking your best friend comes to your mind -even if something tells you to be careful. Bonney could be a little impulsive sometimes -
Tumblr media
And there you are following the link from the image to the webpage that announces the minuscule red dress with white fur on the top and the skirt. “I bet Ms. Noel would freeze her ass if she wore this to the North Pole…” you say, laughing alone in the kitchen.
And two days after, the <present> is finally on your door. And it’s indeed tiny. Your buttocks are barely covered, and the neckline shows you have breasts you didn’t know you had. Sexy, revealing, tempting. You blush at your own reflection in the mirror and imagine the possible reactions Kid may have when he sees you tonight…
The sudden knock on the door (that more than a knock it sounded like a bang; cause Kid is everything except subtle) makes you jolt up. You fix the skirt of the mini Ms. Noel costume, praying for him not to laugh at your surprisingly and unexpected outburst of sexiness.
“Come in, babe. It’s open” you mumble, fidgeting your right foot on the floor. “Oi, babe I’m hungry as f…” Kid stops, dropping the bags of groceries to the ground.
“It isn’t Christmas yet and I already have Santa here?”
And just as Kid said that, he closed the door and ran up to you. He lifts you and takes you upstairs to your room resting over his shoulder. “Kid!!” you giggle, while he puts his hand over your ass and gives you soft spanks.
You fly to the bed as he throws you over the mattress, and he quickly takes his shirt off. You are absolutely stunned by the instant effect of your outfit on him, but frankly you don’t care as long as he devours you as he always does.
“Now this is a good Christmas eve, babe” he says, bending over you. Your cheeks get blushed, making you cover your face with your hands. “Oh, are you shy now?” he says, gently moving your hands out of your face. He plants a kiss over your nose and takes a last look at your body covered in red velvety clothes.
He goes down on you, ferally and quickly. He cannot wait any longer. Kid bites and kisses your thighs, his face under your skirt. “Ms. Noel, I will have to ask you to sit on my face right now” he mumbles, taking your panties off. “K-Kid…” you stutter, but of course you have no choice, because he is already lying in bed next to you with his hands on the back of his head waiting for you to sit over his face.
And so you do.
Moaning and whining his name you move back and forth, overly stimulated by the wonderful movements his tongue does on your core. The furry material of your skirt grazes his chest and nipples making him enjoy even more the way you stroke his dick up and down with your hands.
Suffocated and in heaven he makes you come with just his tongue. Sex stained in red lipstick from his mouth, perfectly matching your Santa outfit…

Noel moulin x reader - support
Tumblr media
May I please request a Noel Moulin x fem reader fic? Where he finds out what she does for a living (she's a tattoo artist with her own shop) and basically him gushing saying how cool she is and asking her to give him a tattoo. All in all him being the cute supportive bean of a bf he is. 😍 - Anon💜
Sitting with Noel at a cafe, you sipped your coffee whole he was talking about the recent adventure he’d been on.
“Wait! I’m talking too much! How have you been?! What have you been up too?!”
You laughed softly, smiling at him you showed him the new tattoo on your wrist, it was small but it fit perfectly with the others.
“Woah! That’s amazing, you really need to tell me where you get yours done!” He gushed.
You grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of your head.
“Uhm.. I did it...”
There was a small silence between the pair of your before he jumped up.
“You did that yourself?!”
A few people looked over making you roll your eyes. Getting up, you grabbed him by the hand and walked away from the café so you guys could talk without getting weird looks.
“Yeah, I actually did it a couple of days ago.”
“Wait, really?!”
“Yeah, I had some free time at work so...”
Noel stopped, and you stopped as well. He leant down, his face only inches from yours.
“Where do you work?”
“A tattoo parlour, the armistice.”
“Hold up! Hold up! I’ve been there I’ve never seen you!”
You just grinned at him and shrugged a little.
“I’m the owner usually I’m in the back.”
“You own it?! Damn you keep getting better and better!”
You laughed, letting him pulling you into a hug and twirl you around before he set you back on the floor.
He clasped his hands around yours and grinned brightly.
“Can you tattoo me!?”
You laced your fingers with his and started walking down the street.
“I mean I dunno Noel, I’m pretty busy ya know.” You teased.
“Please! Please! Please! You can pick!”
You guys soon came up to the tattoo shop, you walked in and greeted some people, heading to a chair in the back, you sat down in it and smirked at him.
“Maybe I should give myself a new tat, what do ya think handsome?”
“Yes! But please do me!” He whined.
He sat on your lap, grabbing the book of designs he started to flicked through it while you rolled up his sleeve.
“I’ll even pay you!”
“Get off.” You laughed.
He jumped up and quickly took the chair, a huge smile on his face as he swung his legs back and forth, watching you take a seat next to him and grabbed a sketch book.
“I’ll love you forever!”
“I’m hurt you don’t already love me.” You laughed.
“No! I do!”
You laughed again, drawing a small design and a mountain with a sun around it, you flipped it over and showed him.
“How about this?”
“Woah? That was fast!”
You went through the process of placing the design on to his skin, and grabbed the gun, making sure everything was ready before holding it over his arm.
“Are you ready? Won’t get scared will you?” You teased.
“Of course not! I already have one!”
He pointed to the fish on your neck making you laughed again and you started tattooing him.
The conversation flowed between the pair of you as you did, and after nearly 45 minutes you set the tattoo gun down, cleaned the new ink and wrapped it up.
“There you go cry baby.”
“I love it! You’re the best thank you!”
He got up and hugged you, mindful of his arm. He rested his chin on your shoulder, and pressed a gentle kiss to your neck.
“If I get another can you do it?” He asked.
“Of course darl, now help me pick mine.”
He was more than eager too, he sat you in the chair and sat next to you, going through the book and you guys shared a few ideas.
Noel was so excited to help you give yourself a new tattoo, and you were more than happy for his life and support

New Message from Kenny
March 24, 2012, 9:20pm
“Hey, um. I’m sorry for stopping by yesterday. And for the things I said, that was a real asshole move on my part. So… yeah. Sorry.”
The number you’re calling has been disconnected.
May 4, 2015, 10:11am
+1-509-676-3885
Hey. I’m in town this week if you want to meet up.
This is Jack, by the way.
You - 10:13am
Jack, hey! Yeah, sure, wanna grab lunch on Friday?
+1-509-676-3885 - 10:24am
Sounds good.
----
Kent sat at the coffee shop table with one hand wrapped around his mug and the other digging into his thigh under the table. “So. Uh, how’s your parents?”
“You don’t talk to them anymore?” Jack asked.
“Ah, no.” Kent shifted in his seat. “Saw them at an awards show earlier this year, but we don’t really keep up, after… Well, they had bigger things to deal with, you know, and we both got busy, so.”
“Right, yeah,” Jack nodded. “No, yeah, they’re good. Always talking about wedding things, now, it feels like.”
“Oh, yeah, congratulations,” Kent gestured to the ring on Jack’s finger. Jack smiled down softly at it. “And on coming out, that’s huge, man.”
“Thanks,” Jack’s smile was small, but he looked happier than Kent had ever seen him. “It just felt about time, you know? I was ready.”
Kent didn’t know. You used to get panic attacks at the thought of your parents knowing about us, he thought. I spent hours on end convincing you that no one would ever find out. That we’d be okay. “Yeah totally,” he said. His eyes had been trained on Jack’s right ear for their entire conversation so far. He didn’t think he’d be able to handle icy blue.
“How about you?” Jack asked.
“Huh?”
“You ever thought about coming out?”
Kent barked out a laugh. “Hah! No.”
“Why not?”
“I just…” You’re the only person I’ve ever been in love with, did you know that? I wouldn’t risk it for anyone else. “Don’t really have a reason to right now.”
“Ah, makes sense.” There was an awkward pause, both of them busying themselves with their food.
“So, are you and, uh, Eric, planning on getting any pets?” He asked, steering the conversation to a safer topic. “I know you always wanted a dog.”
Jack hummed. “I don’t know, actually, we haven’t really talked about it. Bitty mentioned he likes rabbits, they’re like a cat but quieter.”
Kent scoffed jokingly. “Nah, man, cats are the best, I’m telling you.”
Jack laughed. “And you’d know?”
Kent paused. “I, uh, yeah, I’ve had a cat for, like, 4 years now.”
“Huh,” Jack nodded, “Never thought you’d be a cat person.”
“Yeah, she’s… real sweet.” Kent finally placed the sinking feeling in his stomach. It was the realization that Jack had changed into a person he didn’t know anymore, and Jack didn’t know him either. They weren’t Parson-Zimmermann anymore, Weren’t Zimms and Kenny. They were just two people who used to be friends, on paths that probably wouldn’t merge again.
“It’s been great catching up with you,” Jack said when they were standing up to leave. “We should do this again sometime.”
“Yeah, totally,” Kent said, reaching for a smile. “If you ever want to meet up, you know my number.”

You'll have a triple gift ! Thank you all for your support, I can't wait to publish the rest of my stories for you !
Tumblr media
"Well, you and I Collapsed in love And it looks like we might have made it Yes, it Looks like we've made it to the end"
2017-O2 Arena-London:
- Where the fuck did your father go? I said
My look alike 12 years old blond son looked at me. Yes. This time, Damon and I had a son.
He was born in December 2005, and we did the exact same thing than for Mina.
The boy had my last name, but we both chose his name: Simon.
Our daughter was a copy of her father, and Simon looked like me.
You’re probably wondering how we did to raise him. We kept the same rhythm, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Except this time, Damon was here when I gave birth to our son.
We were really happy, and secretly married for 12 years.
- I don’t know mam, probably cheering Mina up a bit.
After all, the O2 Arena as a first, it wasn’t a little thing.
- You’re right. And I have to say that your uncle Noel has too much influence on you.
- Oh, and why so?
- You call me mam, it’s a Mancunian term for mama.
- I know, I just like it. I heard Sonny and Don call Sara like this.
- I still am so happy of your sister doing Gorillaz's first part and singing a song with your dad and Noel.
- I always knew she was so talented and would get there. Did dad help her?
- Just a little bit, but she did the rest by herself. She’s a hard worker you know? But hey, Sim, don’t forget you have a lot of talent too in acting. Just like your dad but he just forgot about this. And I’m sure you’ll get there one day too. Believe in yourself son. But don’t become a cocky bastard like your dad was in the nineties.
- I’ll remember that. He said
Damon and Mina headed out of her trailer. Our beautiful daughter was now 19 years old and was an accomplished pianist and singer. But this night was her first big scene, and she was totally panicked.
- It’ll be fine Minnie, I promise. Your mom, brother, Missy and I will be just next to the stage. I f you ever feel you are going to panic again, just look at us, okay? Now take a deep breath and spread your wings my love, you can do this.
Mina followed her dad words.
- See ya later Daddy, mama, Sim.
She went on stage, sat at Damon’s piano and started playing.
- She had a panic attack. I never heard her swear that much. When you think she was the one telling us to watch our language when she was a little girl... Damon told me
- Yes, children grow up, and things change. And if she's afraid that’s perfectly normal. There’s a big bunch of people.
- But she’s gonna make it, I’m sure about that.
- Hey! Sorry I’m late! Hello Y/N, hello Sim! Missy said
- Hi Missy! Simon answered
What was surprising was the fact that some people in the crowd were already fans and were singing along with Mina. Missy included.
- You know her songs by heart? I asked
- Of course! Mina is like my sister, she’s my best friend, I’m her N°1 fan!
- We are! Simon said
- Of course you are too! Missy answered squeezing his cheeks
Sometimes I thought that deep down, Missy understood that Mina was actually her sister, and that Simon was her brother. She behaved like they were actually, understanding she had a second family with us.
- Okay, since some of you know the lyrics to my songs… I’m going to introduce to you the man that made this possible, and some of you will come on stage to sing with us. Oh and there will also be the man who made me discover music. Sorry dad, it’s not you. Please welcome Damon Albarn and on the guitar my dear uncle Noel Gallagher!
- Good luck Damon. Simon and I said
Damon went on stage and hugged Mina tightly telling her in her ear he was proud of her.
On the other side, Noel arrived with sunglasses on and with his guitar.
I know they worked a lot on this song. It’s a precious one for Mina. They invited fans to come on stage to sing with them, Mina sometimes sharing the microphone with them.
After this, she sang a few more songs and at the very last song…
- Actually, there’s a last person I want to introduce before going and leaving the stage to Gorillaz if Damon let me?
- Go on! He said in a microphone
- Thank you man. This person gave life to me. She always listened to me and to who I was. When I was four, I asked her to take piano lessons, and she let me. At 6, I asked to also take singing classes, and she found the best mentor for me. Yes, it’s Damon. I always told her I wanted to do things my way until I would feel ready to go on stage and meet all of you. Before being my producer, she’s at first the most important woman in my life and my model.
Mina approached the curtain I was hidden behind.
- Mama, take my hand and join me.
I blushed but did it. She directed me on stage, where all the people, so many people welcomed me with applauses.
- This woman ladies and gentlemen is my dear mama and she’s an incredible woman.
I kissed her on the cheek.
- I’m so proud of you my girl. I whispered in her ear when she was hugging me.
I saw her smile and she held my hand. I could see the tattoo on her arm, a tribute to her father and I, a tribute to our strange but stable family. Simon decided he would do exactly the same when we’ll let him. A tribute with a story behind, a story about them.
On her arm, I could read these three words: To The End.

Miraculous Rewrite- Father Knows Best
It’s been four seasons, it’s time to meet Nino’s father
We open on The Base, specifically on Kagami charging forward with an attack, training sword held aloft. It clatters against a training shield, held by, of course, Nino.
“Look at Nino’s form here.” Kagami huffs between strikes. “He’s only got a shield in battle; he has no offensive weapon, therefore his best move against an offensive opponent is to wait for them to tire themselves out.”
“It ain’t my only option, but this thing can only BE used as an offense at a distance.” Nino chimes in. “‘It’s not the weapon it’s how you use it’ is great and all but if you don’t wanna acknowledge that certain weapons need different strategies you’re gonna end up up a creek without a paddle because you tried to turn a shield into a sword...heh…” Nino jolts his arm and forces Kagamiu to back up. “Watch.” He charges forward now, the shield positioned to be used as a sort of battering ram. Kagami swings her sword low and sweeps his feet out from under him.
“Wonderful demonstration Lahiffe.” Kagami huffs as she aims the sword to his nose. “Some of our friends have less than obvious weapons, and your input has been appreciated.”
“Anytime Dudette.” Kagami wrinkles her nose at the term but helps him up. “So, any questions?”
We cut away to see, who else, the team newbies, Alix, Max, and Kim.
“Uh yeah.” Alix raises her hand. “I get that you guys are like… really not wanting us to have to learn on the job or anything , but this is getting old.”
“I mean we DID take on that dolphin guy, even if He messed with our memories-” Kim adds on “Are we really sure The Old Order is all that? Scorpion is a nightmare sure, but his friends haven’t been all that dangerous-”
An off screen clatter startles the lot of them, and Nino peers over the lot of them to the computer setup to see Chloe grabbing Luka’s upper arm, she seems to be speaking quietly to him.
“Uhhhh… I’m gonna go, you don’t need me anymore Right ‘Gami?”
“Don’t call me that… But no.” Nino salutes her and heads over to the two by the computers.
“You guys doing okay?”
“We’re fine Lahiffe.” Chloe snipes, but after a pause sighs. “Nino- sorry. Nino.”
“Do you guys need to head off? I can make up an excuse so it wouldn't be weird and I need to go pick up Noel from daycare anyway-”
“We’ll be okay Nino.” Luka smiles. “I guess some things are just kinda setting me off without realizing it. Chloe’s got my back though.” He puts a hand on Chloe’s shoulder, who coughs and pointedly looks away.
Nino glances between the two of them, his gears turning. “Yeah! I get ya. But like dude, I know I’m younger than you, and Chloe I know we’ve only ever been friends because of Adrien, but if either of you guys need me to go full Big brother Mode, I can definitely do that for you guys.”
Chloe and Luka share a look, before Chloe whispers something in Luka’s ear. The older teen nods, and Nino looks pleased for a moment, before Luka’s reaching forward in order to tug Nino’s hat over his eyes, and the Turtle holder squacks in surprise.
“If we need help, we know who to turn to, Nino. Go pick up your brother, we’d hate to keep you waiting.” Luka assures him just as the hat is tugged up back into place, and he makes a gentle shooing gesture towards the door. “Tell Noel we said hi, alright?”
Nino huffs at the two and waves off the message before overdramatically storming off, smiling to himself when he hears laughter at his antics.
“Nino, might I ask why You’re always so content in allowing the others to think you less aware than you are?” Wayzz zips down from the Kwami hangout space to tuck himself under his hat once more.
“Wayzz, my dude, we need levity right now. Adrien can’t do it consistently because he’s just doing it to not have a breakdown, so it’s up to me.”
“It doesn’t HAVE to be-”
They’re both cut off by the clatter of the door opening, this time to Alya, she’s in the middle of tearing a page out of her notebook and making a beeline for the Plan Wall. “Oh boy… Babe- Babe put down the notebook-”
Nino trails after Alya, and now we get a good look at her, she still looks tired, but less from lack of sleep and more from sheer stress, her hairs the kind of mess where you think she didn’t even brush it today.
“Alya. Babe.” He grabs her shoulders and pulls her off the wall. “What’s up?”
“I spotted Scorpion with two more Miraculous wielders downtown, neither of them were the Dolphin OR the Macaw. There’s another two wielders we haven’t seen yet, they’re lying low and they’re waiting to strike us and I need to put that down on the board so we know what to expect and-”
“Okay, okay you can put that down. Team Bad Guy is..Seven people now? Okay, easy. We’ve still got like four people on them. But you’re not stewing over the weekend again. Write it down, and then come with me-”
“But I still need to-!” For a moment Nino’s calm expression turns to a more stern look and Alya, more stunned than cowed responds with a quick ‘sure…’ So she writes that down quickly and waves slightly at the others before letting Nino drag her off.
“Okay babe, you’ve been going crazy since the whole ‘Hawkmoth is Adrien’s old man’ thing got blown. And I can deal with my best bud being all shaken up about it, at least he’s got like, Felix and Kagami and Marinette. But You’ve got me. So What’s the deal?”
Alya huffs before looking off to the side. “It’s just…! This is what I've been doing since I first became a Secret Keeper! I’m the one who put the pieces together! The one who investigates! I had suspicions about Gabriel Agreste being Hawkmoth BEFORE anyone else did! And I STILL wasn’t ready to be right about it!”
She gestures vaguely back at the main room of the base as they climb into the elevator. “I’m The one who had the theories! The one who had the answers! I have to KEEP having the answers or-!” She runs a hand through her hair.
“Or…?”
“Or Marinette only put her trust in me in the first place because I was her friend. If I don’t have anything to OFFER beyond handling Trixx then...” she huffs and puts her head on Nino’s shoulder. “Then there wasn’t anything about me worth being a superhero beyond the people I made friends with when I first got here.”
Nino puts his arm around her shoulders and leans his head against hers. “Babe, you’re great at wielding three different Miraculouses, You were gonna be the next Black Cat if Adrien hadn’t been awesome and re-earned Plagg. You’re a GREAT Lady Temp. And you were the first of us to be offered to be your own hero in the first place!”
The two begin to walk through the streets, Nino clearly doing his best moral support possible as they veer through Paris and come to the daycare place, the same building as his kindergarten, but a different room.
“Hey Mme Lemark! ‘S Noel ready?”
The teacher looks surprised at him. “Nino! Noel’s already on his way home, your father came in to pick him up, didn’t he tell you?”
There’s a long pause.
“Ma’am, my parents are divorced, and my mom had a “no unsupervised contact” clause.”
The teacher looks surprised and holds out a ‘one moment’ type gesture before hurrying to the school office, but Nino isn’t waiting for that shit, he turns on his heel and darts out, leaving Alya to follow behind.
“I’ve never pried before, Nino, but what exactly is your parents’ well, y’know?” Alya asks as the two run down the familiar path to the Lahiffe household.
Nino hesitates for a moment, before answering. “Mom and Dad were ‘happily’ married when they had me, Dad started seeing other women behind Mom’s back, tried to smooth it out by having Noel, and fell back into his old habits twice as bad as before. He liked that Mom worked, since it meant he didn’t need to, and barely cared about the kids he had.” There was a brief moment of bitterness in the last statement, but he carried on. “Mom divorced him just before the last year of college, and the current status is he gets visitation in the contact centre only for the first two years, just to make sure he got his act together, before we might get exposed to his behavior.”
“So you think your dad tried to use the fact that we’re close to two years as a way to take Noel?”
Nino laughed, stopping in front of the door and pushing it open. “No, Alya. That would imply he didn’t want my mom to marry him again. They’re here.”
Nino takes a breath and tightens his cap on his head before striding into their apartment, and sure enough There’s M. Lahiffe, he’s sitting on the couch in the living room, the Television’s on some sitcom, and Noel is sitting uncomfortably close to him playing a game on a tablet.
“...Pop.” Nino grits out. M. Lahiffe startles and turns around and… oof unfortunately he and Nino look quite a lot alike, he’s wearing a too big suit that rumples strangely as he stands. Noel turns in a snap and drops the tablet racing off the couch even as M. Lahiffe scrambles to catch him and collides with Nino’s legs. He wraps his arm around him and buries his face in his pants.
“Hey little man-” Nino reaches down and puts a hand on Noel’s head. “You doing okay?”
“He told Mme Lamarke that it was his turn with us-” Noel mumbles against Nino’s pant leg.
“Hey!” M. Lahiffe growls and Noel flinches. “I wasn’t lying to her Noel, don’t tell your brother lies!”
“I’m aware that it was two years visitation in the contact centre.” Nino interjects immediately, eyes focused on his dad. “That’s the last year of college,” M. Lahiffe looks away first, “and the first year of lycee, which I’m still in. You don’t have permission to see us unsupervised yet. And we all know Mom’s still working until after supper.”
“It’s close enough. You two need to get used to this again, and I’m not letting your mother pretend like you’re mature enough to raise Noel while she’s working. You two still need a strong man in your lives.”
“Oh, like you?” Nino’s gone full Feral mode now, voice low and dangerous, Noel’s clinging to his pant leg even tighter and even Alya looks about to take a step back. “As if you EVER had anything to do with us past sneering at report cards and telling either of us how much BETTER life was before I was born and ruined it. That’s why you liked Malika so much, right? No Baggage?”
“Malika-?” Alya states quietly but it seems like she’s not heard.
“No wait that was Layanna, you liked Malika BECAUSE she had kids of her own but they were still in the ‘cute baby’ phase.” Nino huffs, all fake casualness.
“Hold on boy-” M. Lahiffe takes a step forward, but Nino bends down to grab Noel and lift him onto his hip.
“Legally, I can call the cops on you since you're violating custody laws to this extent and thus endangering myself and Noel, both of us Minors, but I’d rather just have this over with, so maybe you should just leave.”
“Don’t you want the family to be whole again?”
“Maybe one day it will be.” M. Lahiffe perks up. “I think my mom’s been digging the barista down the street, he treats her nice.” At the glare that was suddenly sent his way Nino straightens his back, glares upward defiantly and basically goes full Carapace mode.
“Get the hell out of my house, Pardon my English, Noel.”
“What sort of son is willing to just throw his father out in the cold like that? You think if I didn’t care about you I'd have kept this thing all these years?” His father undoes his blazer and pulls out his tie, and sure enough there’s a tie tack on the end with a shoddily made shrinky dink attached.
“YOU didn’t keep that. MOM did, and you put it in ‘your box’ when she told you to pack your shit up. Leave.”
M. Lahiffe is about to approach them again, but this time Alya cuts in. Grabbing his wrist and with all that Rena Rouge strength guides him toward the door. “Nice to meet you M. Lahiffe, glad to finally know Nino’s entire family, now get bent.”
She slams the door the second he’s through the threshold and locks it.
“We should probably call your mom and leave a message so she knows when she gets home and can prepare… do you think this validates a restraining order-?” she turns and Nino hasn’t moved.
Noel, however, has both his hands on Nino’s cheeks, practically dragging his brother’s gaze down to his. “Nino, it’s ok. He doesn’t have a key. We’re okay.”
There’s a beat of silence, before Nino slowly reaches up, still supporting his brother with his other arm, pressing the palm of his free hand against Noel’s own cheek, and the brothers smile.
Alya looks back to the door and humms. “Well… that certainly happened, Who wants sandwiches? You guys got Peanut butter and jelly here?”
The scene shifts with the dialogue “-Of course these pretentious french and their overly fancy dishware! When I was a girl our only expensive things were purely for decoration! What’s the point in having something so expensive and fragile it cannot be used?!” Wu Lian is rambling through Tsering Wan’s spear extension.
“When we were children automobiles had only barely been invented A-Lian.” He responds, surprisingly lightly. “Times change, as too do traditions over the years. Especially for these ever flighty Europeans.”
“UGH I’m sure you’re right Tsering, but STILL! We were going to clean them!”
“Just play nice for a bit longer, Great Healer. Gabriel Agreste is not our intended target.”
“....Ugh how dare you buy my calm with flattery…. Very well Mighty Warrior.” Tsering Wan coughs and takes his eyes from the screen to look away. “But the longer we must deal with this one fool the less worth it Miss Sancour becomes.”
“Imagine dealing with them for months on end.” Wu Lian gave an audible shudder at that.
“How did you ever manage?” But before this can continue something breaks up the noise. Tsering Wan quickly ends the call and re-caps his spear, shifting it to the knife mode and sheathing it for stealth.
Creeping to investigate what caught his attention, he peers around the corner of where he was hiding behind on the rooftop and-
There’s the little bee, doing patrols all by her lonesome. Scorpion snarls, muttering out loud to himself. “She flutters by without a care while her wily sister hides like a coward… I wonder how much she’d have to scream before she calls for help from the Little Tiger…”
Tsering Wan takes the spear back out and is about to approach-
“Master Wan!” he’s interrupted by a stage whisper.
Tsering wan turns and is sure enough greeted by Sun Min. Sun Min looks excited, holding out his own weapon--a pair of brass knuckles-with a small screen slid out between his left ring and pointer knuckles.
“Miss Sancour’s going to do a solo Akuma, would you like to join us to pass judgement?”
“I already know how Miss Sancour works as Monarcha Sun Min.” he hisses out, clearly barely keeping composure. Sun Min blinks.
“Oh, right! So you do! Can’t believe I forgot you’ve been here the longest.”
“Do the others find it necessary I attend?”
“No…? But I mean, I’m pretty sure Master Zhao Kai wants you there. But he always wants you present for stuff, he really respects you!”
“Tell them if they don’t need me they won’t get me. I’m busy.”
“....Busy spying on a teenage girl?”
“Busy planning on how to use her to draw out her sister!”
“Who is also a teenage girl.”
“Sun Min, leave me be-”
“You know I’m not super comfortable with you daydreaming about torturing and murdering teenagers. I mean I’m already not sure if I’ll be okay if we decide ‘child murder is fine’ on its own but feeding into your revenge complex to do it is really skeeving me out. We’re supposed to be the good guys here, ya know?”
In a quick Move Tsering wan grabs Sun Min’s wrist and flips him so he’s pinned against the wall. “Your arrogance blinds you child. Do not forget who trained YOUR master. You may have the Kwami of Justice but you are in no way anything more than just as biased as the rest of us. Do not judge another man’s heart without knowing your own.”
“Fine! Fine! Geez! I’ll stop asking!” Once Tsering Wan is off of him, Sun Min looks off to the side, and then grabs his wrist. “You really might wanna clean up the act if we ever have to go public though, people will start thinking you’re a supervillain with all the dark clothes and choosing violence.”
Tsering Wan wrenches his wrist away and Sun Min raises his hands in surrender before turning and walking off. “Fair, fair. I’ll go see how Miss Sancour makes her Champions without you. Enjoy salivating over a teenager with thoughts of bloodlust.”
Sun Min jumps off the rooftop, de-transforming just as he hits the ground, and hears a roar of frustration from the Order’s strongest warrior as the Bee has vanished by now, and pulls out his cellphone.
“Hey Yun Eun-Ji, I didn’t wake you did I? No? Good. Sooooooo first off thanks for telling me about the whole ‘signing to activate our powers’ thing, That’s why you’re in the scholar circle, to be smart FOR me…” A laugh can be heard over the phone, and Sun Min joins in with the laughter. “But yeah I took a good peek in on Master Wan and… Did you know the Order before the war told people to not handle the Scorpion for more than about a day because it’s a very difficult Miraculous to control and can warp its user if going unchecked?”
The voice is faint, given it’s over the phone, but clear and definitely feminine. “Oh, so that’s why Master Wan is like that?”
“Don’t let any of the upper ranks hear you talk like that, but… yeah probably.”
“So… are you going to bring that up to the others?”
“Hell no! I could get thrown out of the Order for questioning one of the Older Council’s stability like that!” Sun Min pauses. “But it does make me curious about our ‘enemies’”
“When are you gonna get let out to play?” Yun Eun-Ji questions. “I’d suggest, though I’m certain you’ve already got the same thought, to grab one of their leaders?”
“Great minds think alike A-Yun! And I can hear the eyeroll, hush. But yeah, I was gonna aim for either the leaders…. Or the one that pissed off Master Wan the most.”
We cut on that note to not the one that angered a Scorpion, but the sister, as she heads back home and is interrupted by a text.
Alya: Hey, I don’t know how to say this gently, but you’ve been dealing with the start of a divorce and all… Nino’s dad just showed up and practically broke visitation orders.
Amber: Omw
Amber:.......What’s Nino’s address again?
Alya: orz
Amber pockets her phone and heads off. About a block away from her apartment she sees a tall thin man on the street corner, and getting closer it seems as though he looks quite a lot like Nino. Amber of course puts the pieces together quickly and stiffly walks past him.
“Hey-” The man stops her with a hand on her shoulder. “You look familiar. You were in my boy’s class during primary, weren’t you?”
Amber is… not okay. You can see the absolutely rancid vibes she’s sensing off of this guy. “Uhhh no, I just moved her from New York last year, so you might have me confused with my sister.”
“Huh.. maybe… Hope you're not a bitch like her-” He paused “Sorry, Not a Bad Person like her, if you see my boy Nino, tell him his Pop was lookin out for him, huh?”
Amber, pointedly NOT going to fight a man in the middle of the street, nods stiffly before she’s let go, and enters the apartment complex Nino’s family lives in.
We cut instantly to the living room as Amber flops down on the couch. “-So yeah you’re dad’s a jerk.”
“Didn’t need to tell me.” Nino responds easily, he’s sitting on the floor with a still somewhat shaken Noel sitting in his lap, Alya leaning on his side. “He’s been like that for as long as i can remember.”
“So what are our options Amber?” Alya speaks up, pulling out--and Nino groans when he sees this--her notebook.
“Well, he’s certainly not gonna get better claims on custody after this whole thing, and you guys have got at least one teacher who can confirm he broke visitation. He still wants your mom back, which means he’s unlikely to DO anything particularly damning in a court of law though so I’m not sure if that’ll be enough to get him banned from visitation entirely.”
Alya’s rapidly taking notes. “What about a restraining order? He took Noel under false pretenses that’s technically kidnapping.”
“If Nino called the cops on him it would have been. No one blames you for not doing so Nino, but it does mean that your mom would have to go through a lot more hoops to get a restraining order on him.”
“She doesn’t have the time for that shi-” Nino huffs. “That stuff.”
“Fair enough. Unfortunately unless he pulls something like this again there’s nothing we can do on a legal level, But Noel’s testimony of this event will definitely be key during the hearing process. God knows how many hearings I had to sit through while Mother was trying to keep me and Chloe-”
Nino clutches Noel a little tighter, something Alya notices and steps in. “But! It’s not likely he’ll be needed at all right? Since His dad is still plenty horrible?”
“Actually they’d need to go over everything so yeah he’ll probably be called on-!” Amber is cut off with a sharp elbow. “....Oh! Yeah uh… Noel’s got nothing to worry about!”
A window crashes inward.
“Dammit, every time.” Amber grumbles.
“Boys-” who else would it be? M. Lahiffe, All Akuma’d up and charged, raring to go. “It’s time to bring things back to how they were, Father Knows Best shall restore our family!” He looks as though he were made of porcelain, like a perfect little doll, his suit now perfectly tailored and the tie tac he’d shown off earlier large and plastic.
“‘S a bit of a mouthful for an akuma name-” Amber huffs. “You sure you don’t wanna workshop that?”
“Yes I’m sure you ingrate!” Father Knows Best snaps at her, Amber and Alya shuffle up quickly to stand between him and Nino and Noel.  “Stand aside girls, I’m not interested in adopting more children.”
“Well you’re sure as hell not getting your hands on THESE children!” Alya pulls up a defensive position. “Nino, Noel, get to the hospital, warn your mom. We’ll take care of this guy!”
Nino lifts Noel and gets to his feet. “This is on me Alya. My father, my fight. I can take him. YOU take Noel and warn my mom.”
“No offense Nino, but I’m not interested in your ‘ignoring your own mental health to take care of others’ martyrdom shit right now!”
“Okay that’s enough arguing.” Amber cuts in. “I’m just gonna fight this guy now.”
“Couldn’t agree more blondie.” Father Knows Best responds, charging for Amber as she rushes toward him. They grapple quickly and Amber despite her smaller size and weight is able to go toe to toe pretty easily.
Nino and Alya unfortunately are still arguing on who should take Noel and who should back up Amber. Which of course means Amber gets overpowered in the time spent and thrown off to the side.
“Now, On to my two favorite boys!” Father Knows Best chirps. “Noel buddy, you remember that zoo we always went to? You used to make little flappy hands at all the birds!”
Noel, who was like three during said visits, cringes away and buries his head in Nino’s shoulder.
“Go Nino! Now!”
Alya throws out her hand and this time Nino agrees, clutching Noel tighter and running.
“You stay out of this girl! You think you’re getting my approval for dating my son after something like that?!”
“Don’t need it! I only needed his mom’s approval! Because she’s the one who mattered!” Clearly using the classic ‘bait the akuma into a rage’ trick. But surprisingly, this time it fails. He huffs and turns around, waving a hand and heading for the widow.
“Whatever, I don’t need a teenager’s approval. I have a wife to woo.”
Alya makes a charge after him but he’s gone by the time she reaches the shattered window.
“Well… that’s troubling. Hey Amber?”
We cut quickly to Amber whose laying on the ground where she’d fallen with her phone out. “Already on it.”
BuzzBuzz - Akuma alert, Nino’s deadbeat dad.
FoxxyLady - Seems to not be in agreement with the divorce, mentioned trying to “woo his wife”
Bugaboo - Is Nino alright?
FoxxyLady - Nino and Noel are heading towards the hospital, they were gonna try and cut off the dad, but no idea if they’ll make it.
Bugaboo - So likely no Carapace unless he gets Noel somewhere safe first. I’m guessing you two are gonna tail the akuma.
BuzzBuzz - We can get eyes back on him easily
Jabberwocky - I can make it
DragonLady - You most certainly will not
Jabberwocky - WHAT BETTER TRAINING THAN ON THE JOB
DragonLady - No.
MonkeeSee - D’ya know the ability yet? Might be good to have a canceler on hand…
DragonLady - [squinty-eyed emoji]
DragonLady - …..So this is why the Old Order killed you first in the doomed timeline
Monkeesee - wut
DragonLady - Alix, you and Max will continue training, I’ll fetch Luka to watch you both. I’ll join Kim and Marinette.
Pawesome - Christ every time i pull away to do something without my damn phone on hand something happens.
Pawesome - I’m coming btw I’ve always wanted to punch Nino’s shitty dad in the face
We end on Adrien, apparently just pulling away from learning how to make Stir fry with Uncle Micheal to pocket his phone, citing a friend emergency and booking it. Transforming the second he could and darting into the streets.
Chat Noir is joined quickly by two girls dressed in red, Ladybug quickly taking point and him falling to her right hand. Bouncing with his monkey agility, not in formation but still in the group, Roi Singe is on their heels.
“Hey Ryuuko?” Roi Singe shouts as he hops through the air.
“Yes?”
“Did the Old Order really kill me first in the Bad Timeline? Or did you just say that to try and get me to take back volunteering to come?”
“Not an appropriate conversation pre-battle, we’ll talk more later.”
“....Huh… You know I didn’t think I was that important to the team- Is it just because of Uproar?”
“Roi!” Ladybug cuts in, now looking rather aggravated herself. “Please focus.”
“Right, sorry!”
Sure enough that small headstart was all they needed to outrun the Akuma. Nino and Noel reach the hospital with ease and immediately rush in. “I need to speak to Nurse Lahiffe! It’s an emergency!”
Thankfully it seems like the receptionist knows him. “Kid, what’s going on are ya hurt? Is Noel Hurt?”
“Our father got akumatized and he’s after her!” The receptionist goes a bit pale and escorts the two of them further inside.
Sure enough just as the boys vanish around the corridor, Father Knows Best breaks down the doors.
“This is a place of healing, so I’ll be polite. Take me to Monika.”
“Monika…? Not familiar with that name… I like, JUST got this job.” The receptionist chuckles nervously “Still getting used to everyone here!”
“Make an announcement. ‘Monika Lahiffe to the front lobby, the love of your life is waiting’” He recites with a finger waggle. “Come on, Do it.”
“Oh? Not interested? Well… I suppose I could use a little sister. Someone to babysit the boys-” he swipes at his tie tac and a second tac is made in his hand. The receptionist moves to run but he grabs her arm and forces her to stay. “Now now, little sister, who would run from their beloved big brother?”
He pinned the tie tac into her hair like a barrette and the magic slips around the receptionist, making her skin shiny like porcelain and little blush marks appear on her cheeks, her nurse scrubs turning into a light blue checkered overall dress and white blouse, and her hair going up into high pigtails.
“But I don’t wanna!” The receptionist stomps her foot “You can’t tell me what to do Big brother!”
“You will or I’m gonna wrastle you little sister!”The receptionist huffs and sits back down in her chair. “Monika Lahiffe to the front office, your true love or whatever is waiting blah blah blah gross stuff please come before he starts looking for you.” all rattled off in a bored voice. After which we cut directly to the Lahiffe family and where they are currently hiding, some sort of undisclosed office.
“Stay quiet boys, if we can just keep calm we’ll probably buy enough time for Team Miraculous to get here.”  Monika Lahiffe huffs, peeking out the door just a crack. “It’s okay Noel, No need to be scared. He’s not gonna lay a single hand on anyone in this family.” Noel is still clutching to Nino, and even though he WAS an Akuma before, and he’s been hunted by an Akuma before, this is different. He’s quietly crying into Nino’s shoulder.
“It’s time to stop running Monika…” Monika huffs to herself. “Nino Sweetie, keep an eye on your brother, I’m going to go see if I can get him out of the hospital, away from the patients.”
“Mom no, that’s an Akuma out there! And He’s obsessed with getting you back!”
“All the more reason I should make sure he’ll leave if he gets what he wants. If anything I can probably lure him away.”
“Mom!”
“Just stay here sweetie. The heroes will be here soon and I’m not letting you or Noel get hurt anymore by that man.”
“Well I don’t want you to get hurt either!”
“I’ll be okay Nino-”
“STOP SAYING THAT!” Noel flinches in Nino’s grip at his shout. “Stop pretending like you’re okay when you’re always tired from shifts and you’re always sad but you pretend you’re not for mine and Noel’s sake! I can see you’re not okay Mom! Please! For ONCE protect yourself! This isn’t gonna help! You’re not gonna get closure from that asshole! You’re just gonna get hurt again!”
“Nino, what other choice do we have? If a fight erupts with the heroes here people will get hurt!”
Nino huffs, looks to the side and puts Noel down on a chair. “You might wanna see this dude.” stated quietly to a sniffling Noel.
“....Wayzz Transform me.”
“I Didn’t want to tell you, I thought it would just make you MORE stressed out, but I think… we all kinda do this in this family… pretending we’re okay to help everyone else, but I don’t think it’s very healthy.” Carapace admits once the shocked silence fades. “Mom, I’m Gonna go out and fight the Akuma. I’ll draw him out of the hospital so he won’t hurt anybody. But please. PLEASE. Be safe.”
“Nino…”
“That bastard isn’t laying a hand on anyone in this family again.” Carapace unsheathes the shield and vanishes behind the door with a ‘click.’
We cut back to the lobby, Father Knows Best is sitting in one of the waiting room chairs, looking bored.
“This is taking too long, I’m going to find them!”
“Fine, have fun bro.”
“I will thank you little siste-!” a flute spins through the air before nailing him in the head.
“Really Rena? That’s like the fourth time.” Bellflower chimes in.
“It’s a valuable move!” Bellflower rolls her eyes but Rena’s enthusiasm doesn’t fade. “Hey Scuzzball! This is a place of healing, don’t use it to stalk your ex wife!”
“Oh great… Little Sister do you mind? We might need more siblings for this.”
“Whatever.” The receptionist gets up and stretches. “Why not adopt one of ‘em?”
“Oh! Good idea Little Sister! I could use a Long Lost Hero Daughter!”
“Sorry I’ve already got parents.”
“My dad is actually pretty okay, not in the market for a new one.”
Bellflower goes low, Rena Rogue goes high-
And we cut away to the rest of the episode’s team arriving at the hospital.
“Okay everyone get ready.” Ladybug spins her yoyo. “We’re gonna need to go extraction team, we gotta get him away from innocents first.”
Chat Noir kicks down the door and Ladybug darts in on point, just in the nick of time too, as Father knows best is hovering over Bellflower with another spare tie tac in his hand. He’s just about to pin it onto her suit when Ladybug’s yoyo darts through the air and wraps around his wrist, pulling him downward. “Ah! You ungrateful-!” He turns to see Ladybug and Chat Noir. “Ahhhh you two are the ones they’re always talking about.”
Bellflower takes the opportunity to get out of that position, but just as she goes to run what looks to be an army of former nurses grabs hold of her and restrains her.
“Ladybug! He got Rena!” She kicks harshly at the one holding her and sure enough it vanishes into orange smoke.
“What?!” Ladybug leans in before, once again, a flute goes hurtling through the air, this time at Ladybug, who actually catches it.
“Rena…?” Stepping out of the shadows is a little doll not unlike the receptionist, but with yellow foxlike eyes and her pigtails hiding long fox ears.
“Papa, she took my flute!”
Rena approaches Father Knows Best and tugs on his suit jacket. “Papa!”
“I know dear, I’ll get it back for you. Go find your brothers for me?”
“Hmmm okay.” Rena spins around and moves to leave when Ryuuko slides between her and the door.
“I will be your opponent Rena Rouge.”
“What?! No fair I don’t have a weapon!”
“You should have considered that before you threw it at Ladybug.”
The Mirage army, though unstable, has sheer numbers on their side, and are keeping Roi Singe and Ladybug occupied. Meanwhile Bellflower and Chat Noir are going after Father Knows Best.
He’s surprisingly agile for a crusty bastard and it’s difficult to pin him down.
Until of course, the whir of a discus being thrown rips through the air and clobbers him against his back, Carapace’s shield bouncing and returning to his grip.
“I can’t BELIEVE this man had so much power for so long.” He mutters, looking around at his minions.
“He just wants to play dollhouse with us and leave whenever it gets difficult...Hey!” Father Knows Best turns to Carapace and sneers.
“You want to get the Lahiffes you gotta go through me.”
We hear a bit of Nino’s voice dub over as the two clash. “You can’t ignore the past, and getting closure from your abusers is a myth. But you also can’t just pretend like everything’s alright just for the sake of helping others.”
Bellflower is about to step up, but Chat Noir puts a hand out to stop her.
“Back off Bell, this is Carpace’s fight.”
Carapace’s head pops up in the middle of a battle of wills, his shield versus Father Knows Best. “No it isn’t! I’d like some help please!”
“Oh! Well in that case, Cataclysm!”
“Swarm! Blind him!” the swarm of bees surround Father Knows Best’s head, and Carapace quickly throws up shelter around his head to keep them there. The entire tie is crumbled beneath Chat Noir’s fist.
We clip to a few minutes later, as M. Lahiffe is taking in the whole ‘getting akaumatized’ thing. All of the heroes are cold to him, Ladybug informing him of his antics with clinical efficiency, Rena Rouge glaring from the corner of the room. Chat Noir says something about transforming back and dips, but Carapace stays. He’s just staring at him.
“You got a problem turtle kid?”
“....No. You’re just a lot smaller than I expected. I’m gonna detransform soon, I’ll go find the Lahiffes and tell them it’s safe.”
He waves and walks off.
Sure enough, before too long Nino arrives with Monika and Noel behind him. Monika hands Noel off to Nino, though Nino tries to stop her she smiles at him.
“Mom you don’t need to-”
“I’m not doing this to protect you, I’m doing this for me, sweetie.” she winks and Nino huffs.
M. Lahiffe stands as Monika approaches him.
“Monika It wasn’t my fault, I got-”
“Akumatized yes I know. I don’t care.” She took a deep breath. “I don’t need nor want anything from you, but if I ever hear you violated visitation again and approached my sons, I WILL make you pay. Nino, Noel, the boss gave me the rest of the night off, let's order take out!”
“Yay!” Noel throws his hands up “Can we watch a movie too?”
“Sure thing kiddo! But we all have to agree on one!” Noel scrambles out of Nino’s grip and runs right past his father to grab Monika’s hand. Nino walks past his father one last time and smirks.
“What, You gonna hit me you little punk?”
“Nah. You’re just a lot shorter than I remember.” he tightens his cap and walks on.
But right as the Lahiffe family are about to leave the front door clatters open, revealing an irate Adrien, Amber is clinging to his arm and trying to hold him back.
“JEAN LAHIFFE!” Adrien zips through the room and we see him grab M. Lahiffe by the collar, reeling back for that punch he was promised.

Hololive / Nijisanji Cover Digest for August
5th - Phony by Machita Chima
The final product of Chima’s journey. Her operatic background meant that she would search for more operatic of the popular songs, but I think she does this very modern song justice.
7th - Kaibutsu by Shiranui Flare
The MV is on fire and her singing is always on fire. That’s Flare for ya. Flare always can bring a little menace, a little bit of S for Noel’s M needs, and this cover brings that in spades.
7th - The Owl ~The Owl Tells That We Have Uninvited Guests~ by Nun Bora
Bora always has a nice voice, because apparently that’s a requirement for being good at APEX (why is everyone at VSpo good at singing?) and this song is uses her voice very well.
11th - Haru wo Tsugeru by Rikkaroid
Start of Rikka’s First Take tribute and he starts with one of my favorite songs, the first single by yama. And Rikka doesn’t disappoint with his interpretation. He’s just so nice to listen to.
12th - Blessing by Lamy, Botan, Nene, Polka
NePoLaBo stands out as the best gen group in terms of singing, and this distinction is best shown through the four group covers for their anniversary. All four are fantastic, go listen.
13th - ZZZ by Asuka Hina
For her much belated 100K. It’s a cutesy cover for a cutesy voice producer, I believe?
13th - Cry Baby by Hoshimati Suisei
Suisei needs a song with power and emotion and Official Hige DANdism went out of their way to create a song that does just that. Suisei is at its best when she starts down low and raises her pitch like a firework, and this song is basically that.
15th - Vampire by Yozora Mel
I really like Mel’s voice. It’s cute but not cutesy. Like Kiara, her voice fits the range of VOCALOIDs, but Mel’s delivery is much more smooth. It’s almost like listening to the Idea of this song, the most idealized version, and so this is my pick for Vampire. Thank you.
17th - Indonesian Folk Medley by HoloID 1 & 2
I think what makes this cover so special is that you can feel the pride and joy in the singers and the production. This is their introduction to their world to us, and it is freaking great.
21st - Shin Takarajima by Sasaki, Ririmu, Shiina, Yashiro & Chaika
This cover is just a fascinating thing. The dance is a great recreation, and I always love Ririmu ‘Oh!’ as we transition to the chorus. Deron and Rion’s cheerleading is a nice touch.
22nd - Turing Love by Aiba Uiha & Mayuzumi Kai?
The dupe that shocked the world, and yet many people lapped it up, getting a million views in less than a week, although the views decreased sharply. Mayu’s UTAU is one of the best, and I think it was used so well here, and also it just fits his lore too well. Challenging but worth it.
28th - Magia by Tokino Sora, Fuji Aoi & Suntory Nomu
Sora, Aoi, Nomu triple is nothing to scoff at, but it almost felt nostalgic to see these three successfully tackle the always beautiful song from Kalafina. I think the mixing is done really well here, and it shows how the three know where to sing and where not to.
29th - adrenaline!! by Oozora Subaru & Shigure Ui
Ui-mama professes to be a non-singer but she sang quite a lot this year, and her outputs are almost always good. There must be something to her narrow but cute singing that people surely approve of… I love how Ui realized Subaru is the sun and you cannot avoid her brightness.

16 for cowboys??
“Look, I care about you, alright? Quite a bit, I’m afraid.”
Johnny flops on his back, head slightly downhill of his feet in a way which makes the blood in his skull rush and whirl bewilderingly and his eyes pressed closed against the burning-bright sun, as yet undimmed by the afternoon. Someone drops a hat on his stomach and he flinches as though it had been a cannonball, sticking his tongue out and playing at being injured like the hognose snake Will had found in the shade under the general store’s porch - he’d rescued it from being killed as a copperhead, scooped it up in his hat, and brought it round to Ainsel’s back window to show the kids, thoroughly derailing all schooling for the day, as they all crowded around the hat to watch the creature resolutely turn on its back and stick its tongue out in repeatedly feigned death.
He stretches massively on the grass, smiling at the gentle laughter and the feeling of someone sitting near him and reaching across to give him two firm pats on the flank like a well-behaved horse. It’s been a long day, and it started early, but Johnny does like the big drives and hay harvests - all Danser collected together for one purpose, to help their neighbours and be rewarded in turn. Before dawn, he’d been drummed awake by fists on his door and had dressed quickly in the dark to stumble out into the street and go about mustering up others in turn. Of their little gang, he’d been first out of doors, followed by Will - looking bleary but drawn out by the other men staying in the saloon - then Ainsel, who seems to think they might be more use in bed than on horseback every time they see their own horse, then Tommy and Finn looking respectively disgustingly bright and alert, and still mostly asleep. Will, with his extremely biddable broad-chested nearly-a-draught horse, is quickly co-opted into driving one of the carts out of town and along the dusty prairie roads, uphill to the Wilder ranch to deliver tin pails of food and heavy stoneware bottles of drink and the very young and the very old, so that all of Danser may equally participate in the drive. Johnny, Finn, Ainsel and Tommy saddle up and cut north through the prairie, up the steeper side of the hill where the road can’t run; there, Diaz, Wilder, and Wilder’s eldest lad are calling instructions over the heads of the crowd and pointing in disparate directions to where the cows oughtta be, and where the cows oughtta go. A further crowd of skirts and fine hats - for today the town congregates, and it had better be in full finery and Sunday best - has collected around Mrs Wilder and Mrs Diaz to make tea and grits and beans cooked with salt pork in molasses, the scent sticky and inviting on the air even now, with hours of cooking left. Johnny tilts his nose into the air and breathes deeply, shooting a wink at Jody Masham when she passes near and earning a delightfully saucy grin for it. Her ma notices, of course, and gives him the evil eye, but Jody lets her fingers trail down his thigh from hip to knee on the pretense of admiring his horse and looks up at him through her lashes and he could perish on the spot for love of her, so what does he care anyhow.
She passes up chunks of soda bread, steaming in the dawning light and golden with butter, and he tosses them to his fellow riders - dinner will be late today, what with the distance the herd might have gone. And then they’re away, riding nearly the full complement of the town’s horses across the plains to where the herd stands, sedate and well-fed on the last of their summer grazing and ready to be collected up, split once more between Wilder and Diaz, and stowed in smaller paddocks with good solid barns over winter.
There ain’t no point in racing, really. There’s no advantage to getting there ahead of any other person. Johnny grins up at the sky, remembering the wind in his hair, hat brim in his teeth, crouching low over his horse to eke out those crucial inches that keep his horse’s nose ahead of Finn’s as they hoot and holler with the freedom of the run.
“Aww,” Finn says in a tone of very mocking gentleness as he nudges Johnny’s knee with the toe of his boot. Johnny cracks an eye open in preparation to glare at him for the inevitable teasing; against the bright and sunny sky, Finn’s hat is like a halo though his face is dark in the shade. “Didya go too fast today? You ain’t got no endurance, Johnny.”
Johnny allows the glare to settle, but before he can retort, someone on his blind side snorts. “No endurance - how many girlfriends has he got, again?”
Johnny chokes on startled laughter. Finn is wide-eyed in delight as he stares across Johnny’s prone form. “William,” he says, sounding scandalised.
Johnny props himself up on his elbows and sticks his hat back on his head so’s he can watch Will spread his hands defensively. “What,” he says, “I can’t be crude sometimes?”
Finn gestures at his own cheeks. “Naw, sure ya can, only it makes your face go so red that I get worried about ya.”
“That’s just the sunburn,” Tommy says cheerfully, clapping Will on the shoulder hard enough to make him sway and dropping to the grass next to Johnny. As promised, Will’s fair skin is flushed with embarrassment and striped with an angry red across his angular nose and cheekbones, the skin already starting to peel from a day under the sun. He huffs and folds to the floor, knees up to his chest and sleeves shoved up to his elbows to display a bar of red down his forearms too.
“I hope you weren’t teachin’ my kids that kind of joke,” Ainsel says, an enormous black umbrella hooked under forearm and over shoulder to shield them from the sun as they carry a wicker basket in two hands packed with tin pails, bread, biscuits, and bottles over to their little circle. The rest of the town is ranged likewise on the hill overlooking the town and, beyond that, the desert; the horses are tacked out near the farmhouse; the kids themselves are enjoying the freedom and sunshine having been released from hay harvest duties and are tearing up and down the hill, weaving in between groups and only occasionally stopping by their families to grab more food before haring off again.
“I have done no such thing,” Will objects crossly, but Ainsel gives him first choice from the basket and tucks him under the umbrella and out of the sun when they sit beside him so it’s quickly forgiven.
“He was exceeding useful,” Noel pronounces, kneeling by the big enamel dish which represents their share of the molasses and beans and salt pork, and wielding a large spoon like a sword. Johnny gathers that she had appeared some time after dawn, to the disparaging muttering of many of the elder town ladies, but had done so with such a quantity of fine bread and pickles and preserves that her critics had been forced to quiet down to faces of pinched displeasure while Noel held court, knowing that it was not a competition and that she had, regardless, won. She had then gone about supervising the hay harvest, keeping the younger kids in line and occupied while those trusted with scythes cut the hay and Will, on horseback, ran the new hay tedder up and down the field, and then releasing them to stack the hay under her exacting eye. Jody and Peggy had been amongst the scythers and had told Johnny with mouths full of giggles how Will had been left “in charge,” and then done every single thing Noel told him to without complaint or thought of defiance - but the harvest had been done, and Danser is too fond of Will to mock him for being hen-pecked by a woman he hasn’t even married.
Johnny reaches across to ruffle Will’s hair, but he ducks away like a feral cat. “Aww,” he laughs, “you’re useful.”
“Wish the rest of you were,” Will grouses, folding sulkily around his plate.
Tommy catches Johnny’s eye and grins wickedly. He beams in reply; Noel sighs in advance. “It’s true,” Johnny says, assuming a woebegone expression and trying not to snigger when Tommy looks similarly sorry for himself. “We ain’t good for anything whatever. Wholly useless, and you don’t love us.”
Will sniffs, mouth turned down comically in disdain. “You’d be mad to do otherwise,” he tells them sternly, in his finest clipped tones - brought out for special occasions, and their amusement.
“Why, Mister Williams, that don’t reflect very well on me at all,” comes a voice behind Johnny’s left shoulder, light and familiar fingers coming to rest there in accompaniment. Distantly, Johnny is aware of Finn choking on laughter and cornbread, and of Will straightening awkwardly with an air of panic, and of Tommy smirking and kicking at the sole of Johnny’s boot in a teasing, vaguely encouraging fashion - but mostly Johnny is aware of those five delicate points of gentle contact over the ball of his shoulder, and the swishing press of skirts against his side, and how if he tilts his head right back and left he can see all up the willowy line of Jody Masham, hip to hair, her blue eyes and golden curls like a field of cornflowers. There’s a little compressed mischief at Will’s expense tucked into her smile, and Johnny wants to kiss at it until she shares it with him; and there’s a loose, frizzy loop of hair that has escaped from the large bonnet that keeps her pale skin free of the sun, and become darkened with sweat and flyaway in the heat, and Johnny wants to press his nose to it, smooth it between his fingers, tuck it carefully away with pins so that she needn’t mind it - he could do that, he thinks, could give up on all other professions but following Jody around to tidy her hair and carry her basket on one arm, shielding her with a parasol with the other hand.
“Um,” Will says guiltily. “I - well-”
“Don’t you dare say you didn’t mean it,” Ainsel says sternly. Jody is smiling fully now; she is so beautiful Johnny could burst.
“I’m not going to lie to the lady,” Will replies, relaxing out of his tense, guilty stance to be indignant at the idea that he might. She is rubbing little circles into his upper arm with her thumb now: Johnny could not tell you for love nor money what Will just said.
“Well,” Jody says, a laugh bubbling in her voice, “how ‘bout you lend me this young man in recompense an’ we’ll call it quits? I’d like a word.”
Johnny is already scrambling to his feet, pressed up on his toes in eagerness to follow her away. Her hand slides down his arm, shoulder to elbow, and the press of it leaves hot lines in its wake that make him shiver. “Ma’am,” Finn says politely, not without amusement, “you keep him.”
Jody curls her fingers around his elbow joint and guides him gently a ways away from everyone else. Once done, he scoops her hands up in his own and holds them carefully like something immeasurably precious. She smiles indulgently and nods at the basket on her other arm, which he’d barely noticed. “Present for you,” she says.
Johnny juggles her fingers into just one hand, freeing up the other to push aside the flannel cover and fetch out a thin, steaming disk of fried batter. “Johnny-cakes,” he says, delighted.
“Couldn’t resist.” He takes a bite, savouring the salty cornmeal cut through with sticky maple syrup, and grins broadly at Jody. She laughs at his enthusiasm and allows him to feed her the other half without letting her hands go, chasing the syrup from his sticky fingers with her tongue until he can barely breathe.
“So, what’s the word?” he manages, biting the tip of his thumb to keep from kissing her, here where her ma is almost certainly watching.
“The word.” Jody bites her lip, huffs a big breath, and looks away - and a solid feeling of dread settles in his stomach. He’s had it good for so long - with Jody, and Cathy, and even Peggy and Anne-Marie, in a way - and he’s always known it wouldn’t last, and that it would ruin him, and-
“The word is baby,” Jody says eventually, tilting her head to one side and pinning him with her gaze, eyes narrowed in consideration. All thoughts leave Johnny’s head in a moment, to be replaced with vague, foggy panic. “Not-” she squeezes his hand until it relaxes a little and ceases crushing hers, “not right now, Johnny, jesus. Come back.”
The fog recedes and he musters up a gentle pat of her fingers in apology for squashing them in his paw. His hands are so much bigger and stronger than hers, tanned and weatherbeaten where hers are pale and delicate with flour worked into the nailbeds, and he oughtta be more careful with them. With her, and with - with the word, if there is to be one.
He can’t tell how he feels about that, in the moment.
“Sorry,” he says ruefully, offering her a clumsy, lopsided smile. “I weren’t - anyway. You go on.”
Jody takes a deep breath and nods firmly, gaze fixed at some point on his left shoulder. “Alright, I will. Johnny, I’ve spent the day cutting hay with a whole herd of the town’s kids, an’ it’s occurred to me, I want one.”
“I’ll get you one,” Johnny says on instinct, like he does with everything Jody says she wants however unrealistic, from hair ribbons to haywains to the entire Union Pacific Railroad. And then she raises an eyebrow at him, and he remembers how that’s what they’re talking about, actually, and to deflect from this he nods his head at one of the kids pelting past on little chubby legs. “That one’ll do - will he suit ya?”
Jody’s face relaxes into amusement and she huffs, leaning forward to press her forehead into his sternum. He must stink of sweat, and wants to tell her to shift in case he does, but he doesn’t want her to move like he doesn’t want to lose his right arm and she doesn’t seem to care. “Sweetheart,” she says into his shirt, “you ain’t never gonna be friends with my ma if you go about giving her grandchildren by stealin’ em.”
“Not even a little one?” Johnny says, tilting his head to catch her eye and watch her giggle. “‘Sides,” he says, considering it with a slight frown, “not sure she’s over fond on my givin’ her grandkids the other way, neither.”
Jody leans back, smiling. “Only ‘cause we ain’t married,” she corrects brightly, and then falters back into seriousness, biting her lip. Johnny squeezes her hands in careful encouragement, for he feels (fears) they have reached the crux of the matter. “Johnny, I - I wanna have kids. Not today, or tomorrow, or maybe even a year or two yet, but I want ‘em. An’ - I know we’ve not ever been traditional, but my ma - my ma really is gonna disown me if I ain’t married when I have ‘em, so.” She shrugs, fingers tapping in agitation against his palm and her gaze fixed back over his shoulder. “I’m not saying now, but I am sayin’ someday, and if that don’t fit with you someday then - I gotta find someone else. An’ I don’t know how that someday fits with you and Cathy, or Peggy and Anne-Marie, or - or I guess just with you, but I’m sayin’... I don’t mind, I guess, so long as you do right by the kids, and we’re…” She trails off.
“Miss Jody Masham,” Johnny says solemnly, raising her hands between his own, “are you askin’ me to marry you someday?”
She meets his gaze at last, frowning shrewdly at him. “Depends,” she says shortly. “Are you gonna say yes?”
Jody hasn’t never said she loves him. Johnny doesn’t need her to: he knows she does, on account of how she smiles at him and teases him and trounces him at cards to win kisses five nights in seven on lamplit nights where her ma can’t see them. And he bandies about words of love to everyone and everything, enough for the both of them, and they’re well-settled into the kind of long-standing devotion that doesn’t need professing very much. She’s told him before that she’s no good at romancing others (though personally Johnny reckons she’s not bad) ‘cause of how she can’t be sentimental with them; she loves them, and they gotta figure that out, or they ain’t trying hard enough.
Johnny told her he loved her on their second meeting, but then, he’s like that. Always has been. And it doesn’t mean he loves her any less, or any more, than she does him; he’s just got an awful lot of love to share, and she doesn’t mind him sharing it.
He could be married, he thinks. He and Jody could do it, and do it well, and marriage was always waiting for him somewhere - now that he’s not looking at it down the barrel of some angry pa’s shotgun, and without the threat of that too, it looks mighty appealing. They’ll have to get a house, of course; somehow stop renting, and own outright, but how hard can that be? He’ll get her fine printed calico, and build a table for her sewing machine, and Ainsel will school the kids. Finn and Tommy can teach them to ride and make great pets of them, and this time years from now Noel will have them harvesting hay neatly under her stern eye, and Will can bring them hognoses cradled gently in a hat.
He could live in that future, and live long and well.
Johnny pretends to think about it, but lets his grin slip through so’s she knows he’s teasing. “Well, you ain’t hardly romancin’ me.”
She purses her lips against a real smile and uses their hand grip to punch him gently in the chest. “I brought you johnny-cakes, special,” she objects, and he laughs. “Look,” she says firmly, “I - care about you, alright? Quite a bit, actually, and so you’re just - gonna have to deal with that.”
Johnny ducks in close and presses his forehead to hers, beaming. “An’ I love you too,” he croons to make her blush, and then ducks under her bonnet and kisses her softly. He can do that, now - here before the town, on the day of the hay harvest and cattle drive, for they are, someday, to be married.
Jody pulls back, smiling secretly in the corners of her eyes, and strokes a hand through his hair. “I always forget,” she says absently, eyes on her fingers as they comb and tangle in his curls, “how nice your hair is without your hat on.”
Johnny frowns, puts a hand up to his own head. “Where is my hat?”
“It fell off when you leaned back to see me,” Jody supplies. “You didn’t seem to notice.”
“Oh.” He doesn’t remember that.
Jody smiles with resigned amusement. “Lord help me,” she sighs, “for I’m marryin’ a moron.”
Johnny puffs up in indignation. “You don’t have to.” Of course she doesn’t - Jody Masham is the prettiest girl in the county - the west - the world - and could have any man she pleases.
“Naw,” she says, rubbing her thumb along his chin. “I’m gonna.”

Note
you’ve done this before but i love hearing people talk about things they love so… what characteristics made you fall for mickey and eddie? what characteristics do you share with them?
I’m about to pour my heart out but it’s gonna be a jumbled mess oops.
Before I get into personal things about each character a general fact you need to know about me is I always have a soft spot for misunderstood characters who clearly just need/want to be loved. Blame that on me getting emotionally attached to Dallas Winston the first time I had to read The Outsiders for school.
Let’s start with Eddie first.
First off, holy hell who the fuck let you be that hot mister this is a fire station please contain yourself. Then Bobby introduces him as Eddie DIAZ from TEXAS and okay that’s all I gotta know I automatically stan so hard because I too am a Mexican who grew up in Texas. The he says he’s got a silver star and if you know anything about war and the military then you automatically know he’s seen some shit and okay trauma we love to see it in our fictional characters. Then Buck starts giving him shit and he’s so patient and you can tell he’s thinking ‘lol we’re about to be some of the most important people in each other’s lives just you wait’. He’s so good at his job. He’s so smart. He’s sweet. He’s a dad???? A SINGLE dad????? To the sweetest kid???? I’m a goner (so is buck). We get to see how much he’s struggling then the way he hugs Bobby just confirms to me that Eddie doesn’t really have a good relationship with his family. He’s never had people selflessly HELP him who weren’t obligated to. Then Shannon comes back and we see how forgiving Eddie is. Too forgiving if you ask me 🤭 He lets her back in bc it’s what Christopher asks for. Everything he does is for Chris. Then tsunami happens and Buck is there and Christopher isn’t. Y’all know how easy it would’ve been for Eddie to get angry at Buck? How he could’ve definitely blamed him? It happens all the time irl. But no. I don’t think he ever once blamed Buck. Not even before he sees Chris. Then he takes Chris to buck. He TRUSTS buck to take care of him. This man is so kind y’all idk what to tell ya. Eddie Begins really made sure there’s no going back for me now. We see him struggling to be a parent at first (me too my guy. completely different reasons but I struggled with being a parent too.) But he always loved his son. Then my suspicions are confirmed: his parents are shitty. We get to also see that Eddie would give his life to save others, in the flashbacks and with the little boy in the well. But he’s a fighter and he fights each time to come back home to his son. All he wants is to be a good father to his son. He wants Christopher’s happiness over everything. A parent who loves their child unconditionally and would do anything for them? I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ATTACH MY SOUL TO YOURS. In conclusion he’s the best dad, unbelievably kind, loves people so well, and we grew up the same. (Then there’s the whole I think he’s actually gay and deeply in the closet bc of culture and catholic guilt so relatable<3)
Eddie’s was longer than expected so I’ll put mickeys under the cut. It’s not as long surprisingly
Now Mickey
Oh my sweet Mickey. I thought he was so funny at first. This shrimp thinking he’s tough (and actually is)??? Sign me up. Then wtf he’s gay????? HERES MY HEART SIR. Then ofc we get into the whole he’s closeted because of his psychotic homophobic dad. Scared enough to contemplate murder then going to juvie just to stay alive. Then s3 happens and you can really see how much he loves Ian and just how homophobic terry actually is. Mickey is just a fucking kid. He’s a teenage boy still. He’s a tough Milkovich yeah but he’s fucking SWEET. He just wants to be with Ian. He just wants to be HIMSELF. (This I can very much relate to. My mom’s not terry bad but she still hates that I’m not her perfect little straight catholic daughter and lets me and everyone else know it constantly). Anyways then we actually see just how good Mickey is and by this point I’m in too deep and just keep falling more and more in love with who he is. Hes a family man. When he considers you family he has your back no matter what. He’s so loyal. He loves people even when they don’t show the same love to him. He’s compassionate even when people don’t deserve it. He’s so fucking KIND. THIS MAN IS CINDERELLA JFC. But probably the main reason I love him so much is his unconditional love for Ian. He doesn’t ‘love Ian even though he’s bipolar’. He just loves Ian and that includes stable Ian, manic Ian, depressed ian, paranoid ian, medicated ian, unmedicated Ian. He just fucking loves IAN, all of him no matter what. He doesn’t stay and take care of him out of obligation. He stays and he learns and he educates himself and he tries and he cares because he loves him. When Mickey Milkovich loves you there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for you. I hate to give shameless this compliment (bc really it’s all Noel and fans and the few writers who cared) but Mickey Milkovich is the best fictional character that’s ever existed I won’t be taking criticism at this time.

A Fresh Brew Shared with You
(So I’ve been getting really into Trio of Towns, and spent about one in-game month throwing coffee at Wayne until he loved me, and I had a lot of time to imagine what was happening in game while I did sp, so enjoy the byproduct of that. I use my farmer’s name, farm name (Aime, and Bloom Farm) plus some animal names, but it’s pretty generic otherwise, as it’s focused on Wayne’s POV mostly.).
-------------------------------
Bloom Farm hadn't always been the last stop on Wayne's postal route every morning.
When Aime had first moved in, she was solidly in the middle- he would work his way through the more local Westown residents, then mosey on down to Bloom, before taking the long way around to reach Tsuyukusa and Lulukoko. Back in those days, he would often catch a glimpse of her toiling away in her fields, maybe even snagging her attention long enough for them to exchange a wave. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Then the main bridges reopened, and during the ensuing reshuffling, he and Ethan had worked out that it would be best for him to stop at her farm at the very end to complete his loop of the crossroads.
And he stopped seeing her.
Well, that wasn't nearly accurate- he saw her throughout the day, running about like the busy bee she always was, and they might pass each other by at his other stops. But he no longer ran into her on her own property. By the time he arrived, she was inside her barns, milking the cows.
(He still remembers the taste of that glass of milk, so sweet, but not nearly as sweet as his host.)
It was simply how it panned out, but he couldn't help but feel a little pang of regret at losing those glimpses of her in her element, working the land like she dreamed for half her life.
And then Aime had to surprise him, as she always did.
It was an ordinary fall morning, the red dawn melting away to make room for the blue midday sky while he crunched fiery leaves beneath his boots. She only had one letter that day, which looked like nothing more than a materials invoice from Ludus. In and out, easy as pie. But when he got to her mailbox, he found a curious sight sitting right on it's flat wooden top.
A cup of steaming hot coffee.
He looked to both his sides, then around the box, then behind him, and finally at every which angle he could, resulting in him spinning around like a fool. Shrugging, he dismissed it as her forgetting her beverage in a rush. He pulled open the hatch-
-to find a note, with his name in large letters at the top.
DEAR WAYNE,
I know you walk your whole route and my farm is pretty out of the way. That made me start feeling badly about how much mail I get everyday, which gave me an idea: Since you like coffee, I'd start leaving you a cup! Please write on the bottom of this note how it tastes, and how you most like your coffee so I can try and make that for you.
LOVE, AIME
I'll be darned, he thought, unable to suppress a wide smile, Does that gal ever run out of ways to make my day?
He shook his head, gently placing the note back down like it was made of priceless crystal instead of hastily written on a torn piece of journal paper, and picked up the mug, still hot as all get out. That means he probably only misses her by a few minutes at most... Sniffing it, he took a tentative sip, smile instantly morphing into an ecstatic grin the moment his throat finished the first swallow.
"Delicious..." he said to no one in particular, punctuating it with another sip. It was your standard black coffee, straight from a packet, but this was brewed by Aime, for him, and she planned to do it every morning. There was no way it was going to be anything less than the best cup he ever had. Before he knew it, he had downed the whole thing, uncaring of the temperature, and was licking his lips to make sure he got every last drop.
Westown's famous playboy slobbering over his own face for any splashes of his crush's coffee. If only the town's gossip hounds could see him at that moment.
After his euphoria passed, he finally realized he was just standing outside her mailbox, letter in one hand and empty mug in the other. With no better solution in mind, he placed the cup back where he found it, before pulling a pencil out from his bag.
DEAR AIME,
Thank you kindly for the coffee, it was divine. My favorite has got to be mocha, but it's hard to get a hold of in these parts, so no need to trouble yourself. It's more than enough for me to know you're thinking of me.
- WAYNE
Content with his reply, he placed the note back in the box, covering it with her letter. He was mighty tempted to stay and wait for her, but his grumbling stomach had other plans. Oh well, he'd simply have to be satisfied with her coffee for now.
As he made his way back to his room at the Postio, the grin on his face was enough to make the birds in the treetops swoon.
----
Despite what he had written, the very next day, he found a mug full of Cafe Mocha sitting on top of the mailbox. This time, the note was held down by the mug itself, penned on much nicer stationary.
DEAR WAYNE
I know you said don't worry about it, but Caolila recently had a large shipment of cocoa, so I couldn't help myself! Especially after remembering how much you enjoyed Vivi's milk. I have a cup myself every morning, so I don't mind doing it at all. I hope you have a great day today.
LOVE AIME
One again he was no match for this lass' tenacity, it seemed. He was going to be on the receiving end of her kindness no matter what he said.
Well, there was no use resisting now. Fully reconciled with the idea of this being a daily occurance (not that he needed much convincing), he decided to savor the beverage today, taking slow, luxurious sips. It would have been a good cup 'o Joe, even if he wasn't steadily falling for the woman who made it. Smooth and creamy, it was the perfect intersection of sweet and bitter.
Despite trying to take his time with it, the experience was over before he knew it. He always enjoyed a good coffee, but he had never felt such a pain when it was over before.
...maybe he had it worse than he thought.
----
Two weeks into their caffeinated ritual, Miranda asked him a question that stopped him in his tracks.
"Thanks for the package as always, Wayne!" she paused, looking down at the box in her hands, before back up at the mailman, "Say... you never come by to buy coffee these days. Is somethin' the matter?"
"W-What? There's- Nothin's wrong, don't you worry."
Unfortunately, the fact that Wayne the Suave Postman tripped over his words was enough to tip just about anyone off that something was up.
She put her hands on her hips, and spoke in a tone that he was certain Noel had heard many a time in her short life, "Well I don't believe that for one hot second mister! Tell me what's eatin' you right now or I won't stop hounding you for the next week."
He knew she meant it.
"I've jus' been having coffee with Aime lately, is all. She makes too much, so she offers me a cup every mornin'," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't particularly fond of lying, but if you told Miranda something worthy of gossip, it'd make the rounds by sundown, so he couldn't risk exposing his true feelings quite yet. Amie had to be the first to hear about them.
"Oh, is that so?"
...she seemed to know already, but at least had the decency not to make any accusations.
"I see now, but remember we've always got some in stock! Aime buys in bulk, so I always make sure I've got enough," she punctuated her statement with a wink. She definitely knew.
"...I'll keep it in mind, ma'am. See ya' later."
"Bye bye!"
Even if he wasn't totally convinced she was onto him from her words, by this point she definitely had to be, considering his face was as red as a rose right about now.
----
Another week after that, as he made his way down the slope that led into Bloom Farm, ready and eager for that day's mocha, it wasn't only a mug that he found sitting by the mailbox- it was Aime herself.
"Heya, Wayne!" she greeted him cheerfully, waving her arm in a large arc. He managed to successfully stifle his shock, though not so much his joy.
"Well, howdy there Aime. Shouldn't you be in that there barn by now?"
She smiled bashfully, "Normally I would, but Betsy the sheep is pregnant, so I've started doing it earlier in the day when I go to check up on her. Which means I've got some free time in the morning for awhile," she held up her own half empty mug, "So I thought I'd wait up for you. A hot drink is best shared with a good friend, after all."
"My grandma used to say the same thing," he replied, expression soft. Deciding to make himself comfortable, he pulled his bag over his head to place off to the side, laid his hat on a nearby fence post, grabbed the mug, and sat beside her on the porch steps. At first, not much was said, the pair instead choosing to mutually enjoy the warmth of the coffee in the crisp, chilly morning air.
"You talk about your grandparents a lot," she asked, cracking the silence like an egg, "What were they like?"
This took him aback briefly- it was his own fault, really, for keeping his past so close to his chest, but that was a rare question for him to hear.
"What were they like...?" he pondered aloud, blowing away the last wisps of steam from the steadily cooling mocha, "Well I'd reckon as nice as you could imagine. They weren't perfect people, nobody is, but they always tried their best to do right by each other, and everyone around 'em. Can't remember anyone ever having an unkind word to say when they were involved."
She giggled into the lip of her cup, shaking her head as she did so, "That sounds a lot like someone I know. You really take after them, if they were really like that."
"Shucks, that's mighty kind of you to say. I try and live like they taught me as best I can. Seems the only way I can repay 'em for all those years takin' care of me."
"Hmmm..." she brought her mug down to her lap, face pensive, "I'm sorry if this is too far, but... do you ever wonder if your life would have been different? If your parents stuck around, or even took you with them?"
He blinked blankly at her for a moment, at a rare loss for words, before quickly regaining his composure and shaking his head, "I can't lie and say I never have, but not for a very, very long time. I made my peace with it years ago. Maybe it wasn't the 'right' choice to leave me with grandad and grandma, but I couldn't imagine being very happy relocatin' all the time either."
That statement made her go quiet, and sent her gaze down to her feet, "It isn't very fun, you've got that right."
Shoot.
"I'm real sorry for being insensitive like that," he pulled the brim of his hat down in embarrassment, "I should have chosen my words more carefully."
"No no! You're fine!" she denied, frantically waving her free hand, "Our circumstances are totally different. We only moved every couple years, it wasn't constant travel or anything."
"Still, it couldn't have been easy on ya' if it was enough to make you decide striking out on your own was better than movin' again."
"That wasn't the only reason," she corrected, "It was just... what really spurred me to take to plunge. I figured the longer I was used to never settling down, the harder it would be when I was eventually able to follow my dreams. I was finally given my 'now or never' moment."
"Well," he knocked back his final sip of coffee, wiping his lips with his sleeve in exaggerated satisfaction, "Pardon me for sayin' so, but I'm glad it happened. You were the breath of fresh air these here towns needed."
She breathed out a quiet laugh, bumping her shoulder into his, the warmth of the contact even through cloth sending a pleasant tingle down his body, "You really are quite the charmer, Wayne. I'll admit to being a little slow on the uptake, so I didn't really get what everyone was tittering about you at first. But I definitely get it now."
If he were a lesser man, he would have tossed his hat into the air and hollered at that statement, but managed to resist.
But it was a close battle with himself.
"That so? Funny thing is, I feel like I'm at my clumsiest talkin' to you. You don't want pretty words or flattery like most folk. There's nothin' wrong with any of that, mind you, it's just easier than deep conversation."
"That's what I mean, silly," she replied with a dazzling smile, "Smooth talking Wayne is nice and all, you can't get to know everyone on a deeper level, but I definitely like the Wayne I know a lot better."
"What's this Wayne like?" he asked, dropping how voice down to his real flirtatious octave, "I'm mighty curious."
"He's earnest, very sweet, just a little bit silly, aaaaaand..." she dragged out the word, smiling growing to face splitting levels, before quick as a flash poking the tip of his nose, "...very cute."
Before he could reply, a nearly ear splitting BAAAAAAA arose from the nearby barn.
"Betsy!" she cried out, rising to her feet immediately, taking off in a run towards the sound, tossing only a single glance back at him, "Just leave the mugs there, I'll clean them up later! Goodbye!"
And with that, she was gone.
His hand rose to cover his nose like he hoped to trap the sensation there forever. His heart had thumped in his chest plenty of times for his other paramours, but it had never raced like a thoroughbred horse before he met her.
"Well I'll be," he said quietly to himself, "I'm in love with her."
----
The next time he was making his way to Bloom Farm, he had a very precious pendant hanging down from his neck which he could barely keep himself from fiddling with every few seconds.
Maybe it had been pretty obvious that their trajectories were in line for a crash, but he still felt like a million bucks knowing that she felt the same, enough so that it was her who had reached out to him.
The familiar fields came into view, and he immediately started searching the horizon for a glimpse of her, finally finding her dusting off her porch.
"Aime!" he called out, ditching any pretense of composure and sprinting towards her at full speed, which was worth it to see the joy on her face as he approached, "Mornin', darlin'."
"G'morning, Wayne," her grin had an edge of mischief, "Any mail today, or is this just a social call?"
"The only thing I have to deliver is myself today, I'm afraid to say."
"I think I'll be quite alright," her face softened, putting the broom aside and gesturing for him to come up with her, "Come on in, coffee's already brewing, and I tried my hand at making some cookies with Vivi's milk and Patty's eggs."
He nodded, following her with an expression he knew must have been downright lovesick.
Maybe Bloom Farm hadn't always been the last stop on Wayne's postal route, but from now on, it would always be the last stop for his heart.•
